2023 - There were heart-breaking scenes, as a Palestinian hostage was released after 11 years of solitary confinement, and seemed unable to recognize his family or understand what was going on. We should all be aware that Solitary Confinement is torture, whether it happens in an Israeli jail cell, or in the US, or in the EU. It is torture and it happens every day in our own countries too. in the middle of the world's darkest and most solitary wilderness,

I am just standing still alone.

I cannot sink down.

I have to keep looking

for the light, which is invisible.

as the frigid wind blows,

I tore all the clothes

I was wearing to shreds.

I found you in the dead of night- a lost and lonely wanderer. So I took you in, cleaned up this house and made space for you to stay. You stayed for a while and we felt lonely no more. This house became our house, and when it was your time to leave, this place was never the same no matter how many times I tried to fill your absence.
