#monthly reading list #this is actually mostly my lent reading list #which lines up nicely with the month #the last two are my lenten spiritual reading goals #the first one just came from the library #the author lists are people who i tend to want to read this time of year #this time of year being defined as either lent or the lead-up to spring #i've got two lewis books out from the library and i've still got mere christianity to read #i *need* to read one of the chesterton books on my shelf this lent #and i paired up the other authors so this list didn't get ridiculously long #celia's house snuck on there because i went to my bookshelf to get the godden book #and this one stuck out to me instead #the first page captures the beginning-of-march vibe i'm going for so on the bedside pile it goes

Someone should count every mention of "say" in this book, I bet it's a huge amount.

I had to check the publishing date because that book feels really early 2010s to me. It was published 2013 so I guess it's fine, but the 2010s vibes are there. Strongly. It kind of feels like something you would find on wattpad

I do like that it's an easy read, or listen if you're on audiobook, and the chapters are really short which I LOVE.

I didn't really feel the tragic ending tho. It told me that it was sad but I didn't feel it.

vent oopsie <3

been crazy depressed lately and haven’t been able to do much asides from sit on the living room couch, clean some dishes, and wallow as I draw a single line on a commission before taking a 2 hour nap every day… I feel so overwhelmed and under motivated and I don’t know what to do or how to help myself… I can’t clean or cook or draw or read or walk or play games… I just sit and sleep and sit ugh

i don’t know how to get back into my old routine or start fresh or give that first push towards at least cleaning one corner of the living room. Erghhh

I feel like a failure and I have so many things I want to do but all I can think about is how helpless and broke I feel lmao

also hate my art lots and lots teehee <3

I love love love the way I’m keeping track of my books that I’ve read - I just make tiny duplicates of each book I’ve read and stick it in this cute book shaped vase. I have to make some of my TBR books just to have on hand for when I get around to starting and finishing them 🥹💞

Instead of getting caught up in book amount, I'm focusing on page amount per month. My goal is 600 pages a month. It was actually my boyfriend's idea, since he has seen me get buried in my tbr-goals. And so far, it feels doable :)

so i made the president’s list at my college last semester, which is an honor for having a 4.0 GPA, and obviously i knew this already, but i got a letter in the mail today from the president of the school recognizing the achievement and i know it’s just the same printout for every kid who made the list but there was this one line that made me emotional:

“I’m very proud of you.”

that’s it that was the whole line and i was just—

A 5 Star read for me | This book was PERFECTION

Erin, girly, come here and let me give you a kiss.

FINALLY, after what feels like forever I found a good wotch book. I love witches, I want to read all about witches but no book hit like this. NO. BOOK. It's such a cute and funny and cozy read for spooky season!

The little breakup at the end was unnecessary but I can look over that. I devoured that book! The writing was great, the plot made sense, the romance was amazing, the characters have my heart

Love love LOVED IT
