“Ow.” Peter muttered and Y/n rolled her eyes at the boy, leaning back on the couch and continuing with her embroidery.
“Ouch.” Y/n dropped her embroidery hoop with an exasperated sigh as she turned to Peter who was completely focusing on his own hoop.
“Peter, I told you that you could use the thimbles. There’s no shame.” Y/n said and Peter dropped his own hoop onto his lap and sent the older woman a sad look.
“But it looks stupid and they mess with my grip, so I keep dropping it.” Peter said and Y/n let out a sigh, shaking her head as she reached into the sewing kit (which really was just a cookie tin) and pulled out the small case of thimbles.
“It’s either that or you keep bleeding from your fingers cause you can’t aim the needle for shit. Now go on, pick whatever color you want.” Y/n said, shaking the box and handing it to Peter who let out a sigh but reluctantly got the red and blue thimbles, putting them on his fingers before continuing.
“Well, hello, grandmas. Do you guys want some tea and biscuits? Maybe some hard candy while you’re at it.” Tony said when he walked into the living room to see Peter and Y/n doing embroidery.
“Ha, ha, get some original jokes, why don’t you?” Y/n muttered, not looking up from her hoop.
“Mr. Stark, look! I’m making the Avengers logo.” Peter said, raising his embroidery hoop towards Tony with a proud look on his face.
He was still in the process of filling out his sketch and a lot of the stitching was very messy, some thread being loose, but it was a work in progress. Besides, it was Peter’s first attempt.
“Wow, looks just like it.” Tony said, barely even glancing at the embroidery, but Peter grinned anyway and went back to work.
“Look what I’m making.” Y/n said, raising her own hoop to show Tony with a proud smile on her face. It was a very flowery and pink middle finger.
“You have such talent.” Tony said with a roll of his eyes as he took his jacket that was laying on a chair.
“Thank you, I agree.” Y/n said as she went back to her own work.
“Another home ecs project, Peter?” Natasha asked as she walked into the room, going over to a bookshelf and skimming through all the covers.
“Yep! I’m planning to make a few more after this so I can give some to Ned and MJ.” Peter said, poking his finger once more but was happy to see that the thimble he put on protected him.
“I don’t understand why a science school is teaching it's students how to embroider. Shouldn’t you be learning robotics or something?” Tony asked as he put his jacket on before looking for his keys.
“Well, I think it’s great they’re giving you kids the chance to learn other skills. Hobbies are good so you don’t always put all your energy into work.” Y/n said and Peter looked up and smiled at the woman.
“Hey, speaking of hobbies! You should join me and Ned! We got this new lego set, and I was thinking-”
“Absolutely not. Get back to stitching.” Y/n said with a smile and Peter nodded.
“Yes, ma’am.” He said and the two continued with their work.
“How do you even have the patience to make all that? Isn’t it tedious?” Natasha asked after finally picking a book and sitting down on the couch as she watched the two continue their work.
“Most things are, but depending on the person, it can be relaxing.” Y/n said with a shrug and Peter nodded in agreement.
“I like it. It’s nice making pretty things and being able to say you made it.” Peter said and Natasha let out a hum, continuing to watch the two.
“Do you want to give it a shot, Nat?” Y/n asked after a few minutes of silence with Natasha just watching them.
“Sure, why not.” Natasha said with a shrug, setting down the book she didn’t end up reading.
“I mean, how hard can it be?” Natasha said and Y/n smiled, grabbing the bag on the table and rummaging through it before taking out another embroidery hoop.
“What design do you want to make?” Y/n asked and Natasha furrowed her eyebrows in thought.
“I don’t know? Anything, I guess.” Natasha said and Y/n smiled and reached into the bag once more.
“I have some stencils. Pick one, sketch it out on the cloth, then tell me when you’re done. I’ll teach you how to thread a needle and some basic stitches.” Y/n said, handing all the materials to Natasha who let out a huff.
“I know how to thread a needle.” She mumbled as she looked through the stencils, picking out a design.
“Oh, god. Don’t tell me you’re becoming old like them.” Tony said in a disappointed tone when he walked back in to see that Natasha had joined in after finding his keys.
“Shush. Don’t listen to him, Nat. This will be a fun experience.” Y/n said, encouraging Nat who raised an eyebrow at her.
“It’ll be an experience, alright.”
“Well, while you grandmas waste your day creating pictures with thread, I’m going out socializing. You know, like a normal adult.” Tony said and the three gave lazy goodbyes as Tony left.
Y/n developed a hobby for embroidery during that time when she was on the run. She was in a park sitting next to an old woman who was crocheting something. Y/n hadn’t paid her any mind until the woman made conversation, saying she could tell that Y/n needed a distraction.
She offered to teach her how to crochet, and Y/n accepted. Though it seemed like crochet was a bit too advanced, because Y/n’s frustrations got the better of her. Y/n thought she had driven the poor old woman away, but the next day, she found her on the same bench with an embroidery kit.
She taught Y/n and gave it to her as a gift, and Y/n has been embroidering to pass the time and keep her calm ever since. When Peter came up to her and asked her if she knew anything about embroidery, she was absolutely delighted and couldn’t wait to teach the boy everything she knew.
Leading to now.
“Brucey, join us!” Y/n called out happily when she saw Bruce walk in carrying a box of a bunch of things she didn’t care about.
“Oh, are you guys embroidering? That looks fun, but I’m a bit busy right now.” Bruce said, emphasizing the box in his hands.
“Come on, you’ve been working all day. Take a break, you can continue whatever you’re doing later. Maybe this time you’ll finish your last piece.” Y/n said, her words grabbing the attention of Natasha and Peter.
“Last piece?” Natasha asked in confusion.
“Dr. Banner, do you embroider too?” Peter asked in excitement and the scientist smiled sheepishly.
“Just recently. Y/n taught me, told me it was a good stress reliever.” Bruce said and Y/n grinned at him.
“And it works, right?” Y/n asked and Bruce laughed as he nodded his head.
“You know what? Sure, I’ll join you guys. Let me just put this away, I’ll be back in a sec.” Bruce said as he walked back and Y/n smiled happily.
A few minutes passed and Bruce came back with these cartoonishly large glasses on his face that magnified his eyes to make it look incredibly large.
“What?” Bruce asked, furrowing his eyebrows when Peter was shaking, trying desperately to hold his laugh while Natasha was looking away, hand covering her mouth to hide the smile and potential laugh bubbling up.
“What in the hell are you wearing?” Bruce jumped when a voice appeared behind him. He turned to see Bucky who was looking at him in confusion while Sam was next to him, laughing his ass off as he held onto the wall to keep himself up.
“Oh my god, that is the best thing I’ve ever seen. Smile!” Sam said, taking his phone out and wrapping his arm around Bruce’s shoulder and taking a selfie with him, giving a thumbs up with his tongue sticking out before taking the photo.
“Give him a break. Bruce, I think you look great and you’re very practical.” Y/n said and Bruce smiled happily at the girl.
“Thank you, Y/n.” He said, walking over to the three on the couch and setting himself down, taking out his unfinished embroidery and grabbing a hoop from the bag on the table.
“Ooh, is this a knitting circle or something?” Sam asked, situating himself behind the couch and looking at whatever the four were doing.
“Embroidering, actually. See, knitting is really different from embroidery, but they have similarities like-”
“Okay, kid. A simple no would have been fine.” Sam cut off Peter from rambling.
“Would you two gentlemen like to join us?” Y/n asked, looking at the two who glanced at each other.
“I’ll pass. I don’t think I’d be any good at it.” Bucky said and Y/n waved her hand dismissively in response.
“Of course you can’t see yourself being good at it now, you don’t know anything about it at all. But if you try, you could surprise yourself.” Y/n said and Bucky shifted uncomfortably where he stood.
“It just seems like such a… Delicate thing. And I’m not.” Bucky said and Y/n pouted at the statement.
“Nonsense, man. Come on, get your sewing pants on, we’re gonna do some stitching.” Sam said, grabbing Bucky’s shoulders and leading the reluctant man over to the couch.
“Really?” Natasha raised an eyebrow at Sam’s willingness.
“Yeah, why not? Besides, I want to make what Y/n’s making.” Sam said, pointing to Y/n’s embroidery which caused the girl to grin and sit up, high fiving the man who laughed.
“What do you say, Bucky?” Y/n asked, turning to the man who still looked hesitant. But seeing the encouraging looks on everyone’s face that was directed towards him made him sigh.
“Fine. But it’s not gonna be good.” He said reluctantly as he sat down next to Sam.
“We’ll just have to wait and see. Now, pick a stencil.” Y/n said, taking a bunch of stencils and spreading them out on the table.
They were all silently embroidering, occasionally making comments and asking Y/n for help, but it was mostly peaceful. Y/n glanced over at Nat who had been continuously huffing the past fifteen minutes.
When she looked over, she saw that Nat was actually blowing her hair out of her face. Every time she tried though, it kept falling back, and it was irritating her to no end. When Nat realized that someone was staring at her, she raised her head and furrowed her eyebrows at Y/n who was smiling at her.
“What?” She asked and Y/n simply reached back into the bag on the table and took out a black headband.
She got up from where she was sitting and kneeled in front of Natasha, about to put the headband on her when the woman flinched and grabbed her wrists to stop her.
“What do you think you’re doing?” She asked with a raised eyebrow and Y/n rolled her eyes.
“Helping you. Your hair is obviously bothering you, and this will help keep it out of your face. Just look at me and Bruce.” Y/n said.
It was then that Natasha finally took notice of both of their appearances. Y/n’s hair was in a bun with a garter used as a headband keeping her hair back while Bruce had one of those large toothy hair clips holding his hair. She hadn’t noticed that because the huge goggles were distracting.
“Come on. It’ll help you work better, and you’ll look pretty while doing it.” Y/n said and Natasha stared at the girl for a moment before sighing and taking the headband and putting on.
“Better?” Y/n asked with a teasing smile on herself. Nat looked away and nodded in embarrassment. Y/n didn’t want to push it, so she just patted Nat’s shoulder and went back to her seat.
“We had headbands this whole time? I’ve been trying to push my hair away for the past few hours.” Peter said when he saw the headband on Natasha’s head.
“Don’t worry, Peter. I have more.” Y/n said, reaching into the bag again and taking out a soft cotton headband that had bunny ears on them.
“Oh, nice!” Peter said, catching the headband when Y/n threw it and eagerly putting it on.
“How do I look?” Peter asked, raising his arms out and Y/n smiled and gave him a thumbs up.
“You look great, buddy.” Y/n said and Peter smiled once more.
“Hey, that’s not fair. I want a headband that makes me look pretty too.” Sam said when he noticed almost everyone had something to keep their hair in order.
“As pretty as you already are, Sam, I’m afraid a headband won’t do that much for you.” Y/n said, patting Sam’s head and the man rolled his eyes.
“How bout you, Bucky? Want to feel pretty?” Sam asked, nudging the man with his elbow which caused him to grunt because it made him poke himself with the needle.
“I’m good. My hair’s short enough that it isn’t distracting.” He said and Y/n nodded and they all went back to what they were doing.
“Is there a meeting we weren’t told about or something?” Everyone looked up to see the twins walk into the room with both a confused and amused look on their faces.
“It’s rare to see everyone in the same room like this. Especially with everyone… Embroidering?” Wanda asked, not sure how to feel about the sight before her.
“You guys formed a little club and didn’t even think to inform us about it?” Pietro asked with an offended gasp, placing a hand on his chest with a dramatic hurt look on his face.
“You’re very much welcome to join us if you guys want to. There’s plenty of room for everyone.” Y/n said with a smile and the twins glanced at each other before looking back at them.
“Eh, sure.” Wanda said with a shrug, going over to join them.
“I have no plans.” Pietro said, following after his sister.
“Here.” Y/n said, reaching into the bag and pulling out two hair ties which she handed to the siblings.
“You guys might need it.” The two looked around to see that everyone else had their hair up and before taking the hair ties without another thought.
Wanda tied her hair into a tight ponytail while Pietro pulled back the top part of his hair and tied it off before sitting down.
“What else do you have in that bag, Y/n?” Bruce asked, finally taking note of how much Y/n pulled out from that bag in the span of such a short time.
“It’s never ending. There’s a black hole inside; I reach in, and it gives me whatever I need.” Y/n said, wiggling her arms mysteriously at Bruce who chuckled and shook his head.
A few more minutes passed by with everyone doing their embroidery. They didn’t realize it yet, but they were all very much enjoying this time just embroidering with everyone even though they weren’t speaking. But Y/n noticed, and she couldn’t stop the constant smile on her face because of it.
“Pietro, give me the red thread. You’ve been hogging it this whole time.” Wanda said in an annoyed tone, slapping her brother’s arm.
“But I need it!” Pietro complained and Wanda rolled her eyes.
“Then take what you need, but don’t hog it! I need to use it too.” Wanda said and Pietro gestured over to the amount of thread on the table.
“There are so many red over there, take one of those and get off my ass about it.” Pietro said, shoving his sister’s head away.
“I need that specific shade!” Wanda said, shoving her brother back.
“Y/n, is this okay?” Bucky asked, ignoring the rowdiness of the twins as he showed Y/n his work. The girl looked up from her hoop and gasped when she saw Bucky’s.
“Bucky, this is so pretty! I didn’t even teach you how to outline, but you did so good! See, if you never tried this out, you would’ve never found out you had this talent in you. You’re a natural.” Y/n complimented with a proud smile and Bucky sent the girl a small smile of his own before going back to finish his flower.
“What about mine, Y/n? You think it’s cool?” Sam asked, showing Y/n the pizza he was making on his.
“Oh, did you think of that on your own? I don’t think I have that stencil. Good job, I love creativity!” Y/n said, patting Sam on the shoulder and giving him a grin which made the man smile happily.
“Hear that? I’m creative.” Sam said to Nat who let out a light chuckle in response.
When the front door creaked open, everyone stopped what they were doing and their eyes fell on their team leader who walked in with a tired look on his face, hanging his keys on the rack and taking off his jacket.
Realizing the silence, Steve turned to the living room, shocked to see that everyone was gathered together… With their hairs tied up and embroidering? They all stared at each other and Steve simply shook his head and approached everyone.
They watched as the man sat down with a huff and reached to grab the bag on the table, looking inside and ruffling through it before taking out two blue and red hair clips with sequences and butterflies on them. They watched as the man put them in his hair in wonder before he grabbed some cloth and an embroidery hoop of his own.
“Pass the blue thread, please.” He said and just like that, everyone went back to what they were doing. Y/n passed the thread that Steve needed and gave the man a smile which he thankfully returned.
“Long day?” She asked and a small laugh left Steve’s mouth.
“You could say that.” Steve said and Y/n gave him a supportive smile, patting his leg before leaning back into the couch.
“No. No. No.” Everyone looked up when Tony walked into the compound, disappointed that Y/n had managed to convince everyone to join her little sewing circle.
“God, how old are you people? It’s a Friday night, the world is quiet, and instead of drinking and having fun, you’re all embroidering.” Tony said and they all stared at him for a moment before swiftly ignoring him.
“Steve, knock some sense into these people for me, would you?.” Tony said, trying his best to ignore the shiny hair clips in Steve’s hair.
“If you can’t beat them, join them, Tony. Try it, you might like it.” Steve said with a shrug, continuing his work and showing it to Natasha who nodded in approval before showing Steve her own work.
Tony let out a scoff in disbelief, watching as everyone continued to do their embroidery. They were a team of the most dangerous people on Earth, meant to be protectors of the world. Yet here they were, wasting time and-
“Oh, whatever.” Tony said with a roll of his eyes as he went over to sit on the floor because the couch was full, grabbing an embroidery hoop of his own and starting with his own work.
Y/n hid the smile on her face as she looked around her, watching everyone be too focused in their embroidery to notice she was staring. This was nice. Y/n wished they had more moments like these. But instead of wishing for more, she’ll just enjoy what she already has.

Dib Membrane & Gaz Membrane X adopted sibling reader? Could add in profesor Membrane too since it’s more of a family dynamic
Maybe the reader is overly happy all the time and agrees with everything that Dib says when it comes to aliens or even cheers Gaz on when on a hard part of a video game, even going along with some of Prof’s silly little experiments.
Just so you know i'm going to make the sibling around 2 to 3 in this. Also I love this concept!
Dib and Gaz & adopted sibling Reader
Tumblr media
Prof Membrane
★ Who gave this man another child? Where did you even come from? Why are you now apart of his family? Those are just a few of the questions that will never be answered.
★ He might not be the perfect father but he's trying. He takes a more hands on approach with parenting you, by that I mean he's not absent all the time. (No joke, Prof Membrane from the original series was a pretty awful dad)
★ "Can I press the button?" Yes, yes you can. He actively encourages you to mess around in his lab (assuming that all harmful chemicals are put away and out of reach) and shadow him while he's working. Observation is an important part of science after all!
Dib
★ He's a little off put by the fact that his dad brought a literal baby home (ur like 2/3 not, so not a baby >:( ) and said it was his new sibling. But after the initial shock and confusion wears off he just accepts it. I guess he has another sibling now?
★ He really acts like a big brother. He looks after you when dad is out doing something or at work and he tries to keep you out of trouble. Dispute getting himself into trouble fairly often.
★ Sometimes he sits you down on his bed and practically rants about whatever paranormal creature is on his mind. He very much enjoys the many questions you ask, no matter how basic. "What's a bigfoot?" He's so glad you asked-
★ You are literally the only person who supports his paranormal interests in this whole family. His interest in the paranormal rubs off on you and you end up becoming a mini-paranormal investigator yourself. He's very proud!
Gaz
★ "Listen, dont go in my room, dont drink the soda in the fridge and don't bother me. Got it?" Is the first thing she said to you. Assuming you listen to her she will eventually warm up to you.
★ She gives you a unplugged controller if you want to play a game with her. It works surprisingly well untill you get to old for that trick, or untill somebody points it out.
★ When you cheer her on while she's playing a game she tells you to hush up. But it's not in a rude or mean way, more of a "I heard and acknowledge what you said" kinda way. But she's bad at expressing it so...
★ After awhile of letting you play with an unplugged controller she eventually lets you "borrow" one of her older handheld systems along with a handful of some of the kid friendly games in her collection. She does get a little upset when you delete her old saves though.

OKAY so anyway that aside I also forgot to mention my husband and I will be starting to watch Star Trek Discovery.
Many of you are new here and will not know that Spock is the OG fave for me. TOS Spock specifically. When I self shipped in high school (I wrote so. much. fic. in my diary. loved that for me, helped me cope so good) it was Spock and Spock only. Everyone in my life knew I was obsessed with him. And you know what? I knew SO MUCH about TOS. Grown ass men tried to gatekeep my high school self and got fucking schooled by me. I knew everything there was to know about Vulcan.
I don't, anymore. It's been some time. But Spock still holds the SPECIALEST place in my heart even though I haven't talked about him much later. I did revamp our ship a few years ago - or rather, made a new version since I'm too attached to the original but wanted something more...mm...more like how I make my ships now, I guess? The original one was a straight isekai - due to time travel shenanigans I end up on the Enterprise and Spock and I fall in love (I knew it was him though like there was still Star Trek on TV and all that so fdksjahf). It was really helpful to me at the time and honestly it could fully happen with how TOS tends to be. Time travel is par for the course KJFHEWKFHW that one was "Love is Fascinating".
The new one is "Across Time and Space" and also came with me shipping with Kirk as well ("Solar Flare Love") and naturally the poly (cause how can you be a fan of TOS and not ship Spirk (I'm joking but like also it's truly iconic and important for popularizing slash fic)) which is "Interwoven Stars".
And that one I am QUITE proud of what I came up with. Beneath the cut.
In the new lore, Spock and I grow up together on Vulcan. We're really close. I'm not a Vulcan - I wasn't born there, and I've lived on a multitude of planets since they've moved for their jobs a lot. I'm a human. But we stay on Vulcan the longest of any of them. Spock and I, accidentally and unbeknownst to us, sort of form a childish and ill-formed Bond. A telepathic one, as Vulcans do. We don't realize this and no one else does either.
Eventually, I have to move away. It sucks. No one liked that.
Somewhere along the way, something goes super wrong during our travels. My parents die and I'm cryogenically frozen for several years. I'm eventually rescued and revived but...well my family is dead now. Oops.
I go into Starfleet, several years behind Spock.
Which puts us in this position that my first assignment is the Enterprise. And Spock is the Enterprise's Science Officer. And I am reporting directly to him.
We recognize each other!!! It's exciting.
Unfortunately. Spock has realized that we have this awkward incomplete bond. And once we've taken off he determines that, well, he's engaged, so, he's gotta break this off. And he does. And omg it fucking hurts. For both of us. Our minds have been in contact for so long. He's always been with me even if I didn't realize it. So I'm. Upset.
There's a shore leave right then (which is why he waited until then to do it) and I go to that and am Hella Depressed and LO AND BEHOLD Kirk and Bones are like ? We're adopting you as our friend now. You WILL have fun and that IS a threat.
So now I'm besties with the CAPTAIN and the doctor. And Bones and I bond real fucking fast I tell you fkjdhsakjf Kirk thinks I'm cute but like he's well aware of the power dynamic so he's not trying to make a move.
Anyway I don't tell either of them what happened.
Over time I think it just becomes apparent that Spock and I have feelings for each other/are awkward, and Bones gets on me about it like, "you and the green-blooded hobgoblin should just get together already" and I brush him off a bunch until I finally snap about how we can't cause he's engaged. He's very sympathetic after that.
Kirk and I are also somewhat awkwardly on and off trying out dating (with an open relationship) which is like. I like him!!! He likes me!!! But we also both like Spock and it's just...tense and awkward at times?
the whole Pon Farr thing will happen and then Spock is free to...to choose me fkjdhsakjfhdsak and we'll rebond and stuff. And Kirk is like, "congrats" all awkwardly thinking he's out of the picture now. But Spock and I will invite him into our relationship after some time of getting to know each other again!!!
so yeah that was a lot fkjsadhfkjds but that's the basic premise. I love Spock a lot-

Originally posted this as a brain dump, then worked up the courage to post my first fanfic in YEARS of this here:
Gender-neutal MC and Julian in the events prior to the Arcana Game. This is purely a way for me to work out how the MC and Julian didn't have a relationship prior to the game but hit it off SO FAST AND HARD during the game.
Contains: breakup, dry-humping, death, angst, minor spoilers
-----
Julian sees you tending to the sick, comforting the dying. He sees you make tonics for pain to make the last moments not so bad. He's impressed with your fearlessness and how you want to help. You're curious about science, so he offers to take you on as an apprentice.
You laugh off the idea of wearing a mask, say your magic will protect you.
That night Asra tells you he thinks you should both leave, that it's getting bad. You tell him you've agreed to study as an apprentice under a doctor. Asra explodes, calls you reckless. Says the plague clearly has a magical element that science can't cure, but you say that's all the more reason for magic users to pitch in and help.
"Are you... leaving me?"
"I'm leaving this city. If you choose to stay in it...well, you'll have your answer."
When you wake up in the morning, Asra and all his things are gone. You cry, alone, in the bed you once shared.
Julian picks up right away that something is wrong, that you're suffering. You tell him that your partner left you and the city. Julian says it's not too late for you to leave, too. He'll write you a script of safe passage saying you're free of the plague and safe to travel. You refuse, saying that you're proud to be helping such a brilliant doctor.
He stammers that people don't usually call him brilliant, but you insist that they should. You know that he's going to be the one to stop the plague, you believe in him.
He comes over that evening to check on you and drop off some study materials. You're cooking and you offer to feed him, invite him to eat with you because you hate eating alone (so does he).
You're drinking and eating and you bring up again how brilliant you think he is.
"Plus, you're the only man alive to have... disarmed...the Count!"
He laughs at your bad joke, though he insists you shouldn't repeat it because it could get you both hanged. You think you'd look good in a hangman's noose and so would he. You jokingly fit your hands around his throat and squeeze a bit, and he's turned on. Your in his lap, all teeth and hands, and he's rock hard beneath you. It's difficult for him, but he pulls your mouth away.
He's very interested, but you're his apprentice and in emotional pain and no part of this would be ethical. He wistfully strokes your hair and says that he's probably a fool, but he wants to be someone's first choice, not their consolation prize. He doesn't want to settle for whatever he can get.
Later that night you get a pain in your eye, look into a mirror, and realize you have the plague.
You go into work and hide behind a plague doctor's mask. Say that you've decided to heed the doctor and take precautions.
Julian assumes you're putting distance between the two of you because he turned you down and he's trying to respect that. He hopes that one day, when the plague is over and you've come into your own as a doctor, maybe you two could try again as equals.
Then it's announced that the count has the plague and everyone is thrown into a flurry of work. Julian's so focused on work he's not sleeping, barely eating...he can't pay attention to what day it is let alone what you're so intent on hiding.
He comes into work one day and absentmindedly reaches for the black coffee you always bring him, but it's nowhere. He goes looking for you, finds Valdemar having your corpse loaded onto a wagon to take to be cremated. Julian is horrified.
"What are you---wait! Stop! That's my apprentice!"
"WAS your apprentice, doctor. Now, they're kindling."
Valdemar asks if there was anything unusual about you that would make you worthy of dissection. Julian does not tell them that you were a powerful magician.
He watches your body be carted off, your dead, red eyes staring at him. He has never felt so alone.

5. Share one of your strengths.
everyone has always told me that i write invidiual character voices very well. i try to make narration and dialogue distinct and i think i do a great job!
my vantage is completely different from my crypto who is completely different from my octane, and on the surface octane may look like he'd share the same narrative voice as leo from rise but my leo rise voice is different from octane's and ohg i just love writing how different characters would describe things or percieve situations.
i do want to give a special shout out to my vantage from my mad science fic. i don't care for her character that much but writing her was so fun and judging by the reception i got from it when posted people really enjoyed her character voice too.
6. Share one of your weaknesses.
scene-setting, environmental description, action. god this problem plagues me when reading, writing, AND drawing. i simply cannot picture where characters are or what they're doing or how they're having this conversation, sitting down or standing up. in my brain, everything takes place with characters standing around in a white void until something happens in the environment. visually it looks like that one scene in coraline. you know the one
here's how my fic writing process goes. dialogue, emotion and feelings and shit, basic plot action like going to the next necessary location, or maybe a super important event, or the set-up and punchline to a non-verbal joke. then i go back and add like 1k-2k words of just...setting. description. action. response. reaction. physical action. THEN i go over it again for like actual editing and proofreading
i can give you an example right now of what i mean

everything highlighted here was not what was originally written and was added later so the scene would be more than just "he said/he said" and maybe it's because i'm the one who wrote it but like...you can tell it was tacked on.
i'm trying to get better at this and started drawing a storyboard for my current rottmnt fic because that one relies on action more than introspection and dialogue, but if u ever ask me to describe a location...girl i would need 30 minutes to think about it
7. Share a snippet from one of your favorite pieces of prose you’ve written and explain why you’re proud of it.
umm...this one is kind of hard actually i don't really remember specific pieces of prose i write outside of dialogue!! if i had to pick it would be maybe this specific bit from chapter five of my simulacrum Crypto AU, Four Oh Three:
Tumblr media
this is way more than a snippet lmao but writing this entire chapter was super satisfying with everything i'd set up so far. crypto not knowing if he actually felt attraction to octane or if his feelings were just the lingering result of his programming, trying to figure out what he could feel, IF he could feel, octane touching him and inviting him to touch him in turn, all the conflicting emotions that came with that.
i really felt at the time that it all really came together in a very drawn-out but deserved scene of intimacy (nearly the whole chapter?) after the result of like uhhh 30,000+ words of tension that i don't think i've ever really written before or since. i usually like to get straight into the dick in hole action lmfao but i was very satisfied and proud of myself for this one
13. What’s the best writing advice you’ve ever come across?
so this isn't even writing advice it's programming advice LOL but several years ago i heard of rubber duck debugging in which programmers tell a rubber duck their code line by line until they realize what's causing them a problem. and ever since, for lengthy fics or things outside my comfort zone, i've described overarching plot details and invidiual chapters to either stuffed animals or my cat and if it sounds stupid being said out-loud then i usually decide it'd be stupid and nonsensical in a fic too and i change it up LOL
14. What’s the worst writing advice you’ve ever come across?
controversial opinion maybe but i think telling people that every scene in a book should only serve the narrative/plot is STUPID!!!!!!!!!!!! books aren't movies, you don't have a runtime limit!!! i think you lose out on so much character and introspection and world-building by forcing every scene in your book to only be plot-relevant stuff. sometimes characters interacting with each other and doimg stuff in their world is just fun or interesting and that's all it has to be
20.) Describe your perfect writing conditions.
i have my headphones plugged in and am listening to my music. the chair is comfy and i can lean back but my laptop is on a solid surface. i am supplied endlessly with coffee and fizzy drinks. all is well

What do you think the saf characters' cutie marks would be?
WELL *prepares to infodump* I'M SO GLAD U ASKED ANON
so when I was originally thinking abt a SAF x MLP crossover, cutie marks were actually the first thing I thought about! I sketched them out (along w/ some explanations) in a notebook:
Tumblr media
so some transcriptions/elaboration:
Curt
Spying. Duh. Pretty self-explanatory.
He got his VERY VERY young for smth very stupid like "spying" on his mother to see what she was buying him for his birthday
Which is a great plan until the next day you literally have to explain how you got your cutie mark overnight
ALSO when discussing the idea w @finalgirlmartinbrody , they pointed out the hilarity of a spy having a cutie mark that clearly says they're a spy, so just imagine that agencies use glamour spells pretty frequently lmao
So in MLP there's this pretty interesting concept they explore now and then of basically like. Losing the meaning of your cutie mark. Not doing what you're meant to do. SO to add some ~spice~, Owen's special talent is theatre!
Owen
Got his later on in high school, definitely got picked on a bit for that
He basically convinces himself once he becomes a spy that the mark means he's good at acting as in being undercover/in disguise (but deep down knows that isn't the case)
Also fuels that later resentment towards agencies
Tatiana
Ok this sort of feeds into a HC I have in general- that Tatiana is the mystery woman at the beginning of the show (or at least closely connected) because like. Random voice narrating a story? Yeah cool and mysterious ig. Tatiana being the one to tell us the story of how one of her best friends fell apart? MUCH more dramatic and tragic and all that fun stuff. So ofc she's a singer here!
Got cutie mark because when she was younger, she used to sing lullabies to herself/the other kids as a comfort thing
Like Owen, she was forced into something that wasn't her destiny
Though I like to think while undercover for a time she worked as like a lounge singer and it was one of the happier times in her life
Barb
So kind of a no-brainer.
Science! Numbers!
I like to think she also gets her cutie mark young, like accidently blowing smth up in a science class, and the teacher starts yelling at her but Barb does not give a shit because cutie!! mark!!
Cynthia
Okay hers is a speech bubble and exclamation points. Because she's the boss, and her job is to tell others what to do.
BUT there is definitely a huge not-so-inside joke around A.S.S. (and the government) (and all the international agencies) (literally Susan will make the jokes to her face) that Cynthia's special talent is yelling at people
Cynthia is actually quite proud of this rumor and actively encourages it
Informant
Mask! For disguises! Obviously!
I wanted smth to include accents but wasn't quite sure how to portray that?
He likes to say that their real talent is being fashionable
Deadliest Man Alive
Hee-hee knife go stabby-stabby
Talent for being a murderer #okayedgelord
Owen uses a glamour to disguise this cutie mark everyday obviously
HC that Sergio once sees him putting the glamour on and is just like "omg he changes his cutie mark to be even more terrifying omg that's so cool he's so sick omg"
Mrs. Mega
Wasn't entirely sure what I wanted hers to be tbh. I didn't want to do smth like "being a mother" or "being a housewife" because I like to give my female characters actual personality beyond serving men (cough cough lots and lots of MLP fandom OCs cough cough)
I ended up going with forgery! Since we know she does it fairly often (knows how to forge passports for Tatiana & family)
Neighbors just think she's good at like. Writing checks lmao

Hello!! How are you??
Could I request a (romantic) Matchup with any of the Creepypastas?? :DD
hehe anyways! My name is Joey! I’m transgender and lithromantic, I’m a Leo and I use he/him pronouns. I have shoulder-length-ish black hair. I have brown eyes and I’m at least 5’5
I’m honesty pretty silly when im interacting with someone either online or in person, i tend to make a lot of jokes (including sexual ones) I can also be pretty awkward when talking to new people but it’ll wear off once I stalked to them for a good amount. And I love to talk about my interests and I don’t really like when people when they seem uninterested in my interests when I talk about them(it just makes me sad) , I can also be pretty punctual and fussy and I tend to have short tempers, And lastly I’m pretty intelligent in many things (such as math, piano, science, etc)
I love playing Rhythm Games (like Ensemble Stars, Project Senkai, Bandori..), I really like to play other games as well like Genshin, Mystic Messenger, FNAF, etc, I love musicals like Hamilton, I really love listening to music as well it’s my coping mechanism, i also love reading, and I like hotels and my friends!
I don’t like negitive mentions of my voice, comparing me to people/saying stuff like "you remind me of ____", i also despise spiders. And I hate getting sick bc I’ll get very cranky and emotional
And lastly I have ADHD and ASD! I’m not sure if I should be proud of that or not…
But thank you!! And have fun with this :DD
I match you with...
Jane The Killer!
She is a very sweet girl who is going to support you in everything she can!! (while it's not dangerous tho-) She is probably gonna be in love with your hair and is surely going to brush it everytime she can, and if you let her. She likes your silly personality for sure and your jokes too! She isn't a fan of sex jokes but she can make deaf ears for you.
If you start talking/rambling about your interests she is going to be inmerse in your talk and is going to listen very carefully, making coments from time to time alongside with some humming.
She doesn't like playing videogames that much, but she loves the concentrated face you make when you play them, so... Even if she doesn't join you in that activity she is going to be near you just to watch your cute expresions!
I headcanon her as a fan of musicals so you two are going to spend some quality time together watching Hamilton snuggling in the couch. She likes music, but not in the therms of listening to it all day, so with all the loce and respect in the world she is going to tell you to put on headphones after an hour or two. She appreciates moments of comfortable silence between the two of you, so reading will be a daily activity now that she knows that you like it too!
If you'd like to concentrate more during an activity but your ADHD won't let you, she is going to give you little kisses on the cheek and then point at what you were doing originally. She doesn't mind your ASD at all, so don't worry at all, she kinda thinks you look adorable when you start loosing yourself in your own mind, she'll lightly shake your shoulders after a couple of minutes though...
That's all folks! I had plenty of fun writing this matchup, you seem like a lovely person!! ^^

When you fall from the sky My blood runs cold and I feel paralysed
2022/06/07 1:40AM
really proud of how this set ended up, this might actually be my first genuinely decent set since joining urstyle like 3 years ago. inspiration credits to @.lavieenrose and @.thedragonqueen (you were so right, the trick really is to lean into maximalism)
BOYFRIEND MATERIAL contest one: introduce your couple
YOU
NAME: Serena Larson AGE: 27
Likes: saffron, silk, rain, libraries, mario kart, board games, cats, history, documentaries, thrillers, horror movies (even though she gets nightmares afterwards, a masochist honestly)
Dislikes: spiders, influencer culture, tiktok, stupidity, dark chocolate, elitism, religion
What you look for in a significant other: someone who challenges her, but agrees on the important things; things like basic human rights, capitalism is a nightmare, everyday people shouldn't have access to infinite guns, common sense things that are not up for debate. someone who will listen to her gush about anything and fully engage, even if they don't understand the topic, and someone who will always back her up, no matter what. even if she's in the wrong, they should tell her she's wrong, but still be on her side.
What you wouldn't want in a significant other: a conservative, anyone right-wing is an absolute no. people who say politics don't matter or don't care about politics are moron, politics is literally society. who and what you vote for is a reflection of who you fundamentally are as a person. and nor someone "old-fashioned', things like men should always pay for dates, always drive, etc, etc, that mindset is so stupid. and someone with fragile egos, like grow up, there's more important things going on. an overly religious person, believing in god or a higher power on it's own fine, but anyone who tries to "covert" people onto the "path of god", or people who involve religion in politics, an absolute no fucking way, die (she is not joking).
SIGNIFICANT OTHER
NAME: Lukas Grimaldi AGE: 30
Likes: dogs, spring, leather, reading, driving, cashmere, chocolate, history, pixar movies, waffles (more than life itself), his little brother and sister, science-fiction
Dislikes: endless sequels and reboots (please, just make something original), pig-headed people, stubbornness is fine, charming even, but people who never change their opinions or grow as individuals, instagram/facebook culture, he doesn't need to know what brian in dorset thought about the new batman movie, he's never met brian, why is that post in his feed? hypocritical preachy people, sometimes you need a little violence and crime, grow up karen.
What you look for in a significant other: someone to fondly annoy for the rest of ever. someone with their own life and goals, some people tend to disappear into relationships, and everything is always a "we", "we like West Ham" (no we don't Elsie), they both should have their own identities and passions separate from the other. someone competitive and passionate, and very adorable when worked up.
What you wouldn't want in a significant other: selfish people, someone completely incapable of caring about anyone or anything other than themselves (Elsie). his ex, really, Elsie. literally, anyone else will do.

When Nature Calls, Science Education Responds: A Wild Romp Through the Woods of Wisdom
Ladies, gents, and interdimensional couch potatoes, strap on your goggles and prepare for a dive into the ludicrous lagoon of learning we affectionately call "Outdoor and Environmental Education." Picture this: a world where the classroom ceiling is the sky, the desks are patches of grass, and the blackboard is the very fabric of reality. This isn't your grandma's science class, oh no. We're about to embark on an educational escapade that's as zany as a squirrel on a caffeine spree.
Now, imagine a band of intrepid learners, armed with nothing but their wits and perhaps a waterproof notebook, venturing into the wild unknown. These brave souls are not setting forth to conquer new lands but to conquer ignorance itself, with the battle cry of "For science education!" echoing through the trees. It's an image so inspiring, even the most jaded TikTok influencer would pause mid-scroll.
In this grand arena, the ancient trees are not mere carbon dioxide converters; they're the venerable professors of photosynthesis. The babbling brooks are not just future whitewater rafting trips; they're dynamic tutorials on erosion and water cycles, more engaging than any YouTube explainer video, even those with flashy animations and snappy jokes.
Consider the humble bee, buzzing from flower to flower in an eternal quest for nectar. Here, it's not just an insect; it's a masterclass in biology, ecology, and the critical importance of dance moves in communication. Yes, learning from bees might just save us from a future where the only buzz we get is from our phones vibrating with another doomscrolling notification.
And let's not forget the soil beneath our feet, a complex network of life that makes the interwebs look like a tangled mess of charger cables in comparison. Digging into it reveals a storyline more intricate and tangled than the plot of "Inception," with earthworms and microorganisms as the unsung heroes in the tale of decomposition and nutrient cycling.
But what's the point of all this outdoor frolicking, you ask? It's simple: to foster a connection to the environment that's stronger than the Wi-Fi signal at a tech conference. It's about instilling a sense of stewardship that makes even the most hardened city slicker think twice before tossing a plastic bottle into the abyss of non-recyclables.
Through hands-on experiences that would make even MacGyver proud, students learn that sustainability isn't just a buzzword but a way of life, as essential as charging one's phone. They discover that ecological concepts are not just textbook fodder but the very blueprints for survival in a world where climate change is the uninvited party crasher.
But here's the kicker: amidst all this learning, there's a level of fun and engagement that makes traditional classroom settings seem as dull as a documentary about paint drying. This is where science education truly shines, turning every leaf over to reveal a universe of wonder, every muddy footprint a step towards understanding our planet.
It's an educational journey that's as unpredictable as a British summer, filled with moments of awe, episodes of laughter, and perhaps the occasional mishap involving a misplaced step into a puddle of questionable origin. But through it all, the lessons learned are as vivid as the plumage of a peacock strutting its stuff at the promenade of life.
So there you have it, a rollicking rollercoaster ride through the verdant valleys of science education, where knowledge grows wild and free, and the only limit is how dirty you're willing to get your hands. It's a world where learning is as exhilarating as finding Wi-Fi in the wilderness, a reminder that sometimes, to truly connect with the world, you have to disconnect and just... listen to nature's call.
To all the interdimensional couch potatoes out there, consider this your invitation to swap the remote for a magnifying glass, the couch for a canoe. Because when nature calls, science education responds, and the adventure that awaits is as boundless as the stars in the sky – provided you're willing to take that first step outside.

in honor of my one and only mutual and their latest smau 😌😌
kuroo x manager!reader headcanons
( @littlexbimbo i'm v proud of you, my love <3 )
content warnings/things to mention: gn!reader, kuroo and u flirt but as friends, food mentions, swearing, kuroo is a little shit, kenma uses he/they pronouns
🏐you and kuroo are childhood friends
🏐when he met kenma, he forced the three of you to become a little friend group
🏐when kuroo found out that the two of you both got into nekoma, he begged you to be their manager so of course, you agreed
🏐it's not like you're that interested in anything else. plus, you get to spend time with your best friend.
🏐once kenma came to nekoma, you made sure to take extra special care of them and make sure he stays on track.
🏐you're a pretty great manager (because you're awesome and talented and perfect baes <3). you take good notes and you take very good care of the team
🏐you always get kuroo extra snacks though. as much as you love kenma and would do anything for them, you may or may not love kuroo just a littol bit more.
🏐you say that kenma's your favorite because he's chill and not a flirt like kuroo, but the three of you know better lol
🏐that being said, you and kuroo are close close friends. you nap with each other and lean on each other a lot and you're not afraid to playfully and casually flirt with each other.
🏐they include but are definitely not limited to:
🏐"hey cutie, can i take you out?" "only if you give me your science notes and math homework" "fuck you... but fine. make sure to give them back before class starts"
🏐"you must be an atom because you make up my whole world"
🏐"wow that spike was so sexy of you" "not as sexy as the person complimenting me"
🏐"hey, nice ass you got there kuroo" "thanks, l/n. feel free to grab it" *wink* and then cue the two of you laughing
🏐at first, the team (minus kenma of course) thought the two of you were dating, but after seeing the two of you fake gag at the thought and then clearing it all up, they never made those jokes and they make sure to clear it up with other people who think you're dating each other
🏐you're not safe from the old married couple jokes though lol
🏐he's very much like a dad though. or at least a really attentive uncle. he makes sure kenma eats and doesn't spend too much time on video games and he makes sure you eat, stay hydrated, and don't overwork yourself.
🏐he gets you food when he knows you don't have any or haven't been eating much lately
🏐he's also somehow really good at knowing what to say, so he's your personal rant bank as well as who you spill all the tea to
🏐oh right... so i've mentioned how you and kuroo flirt a lot? well you also have a ton of roast battles.
🏐"fuck you, docosahexaenoic acid lacking ass." "at least i'm not built like a rooster!" "talk to me when you have something more original to say!" "that's rich coming from you when you use the same insult over and over again. i'm not taking shit from a bitch who looks like a skyscraper and albert einstein had a baby"
🏐"hey y/n. your hair looks good... for a wet cat!" "bold words from someone who looks like they spent too much time rubbing their hair on a balloon"
🏐sometimes the team thinks y'all can't stand each other
🏐but then the next day they see you walking into the gym together either flirting or with snacks for each other and everything is all good again lol
🏐in conclusion, y'all are besties <3

champagne (peter parker)
pairing: peter parker x reader
summary: was the bottle of champagne a going away present or a plead to stay?
wc: 1.4k
warnings: alcohol (no drinking but like intention to drink?), one curse word
a/n: hey y'all ! this is based on the song "champagne" from in the heights. i really love the song, it's so beautiful and climactic but also really sad so i tried to turn it into something! as always, please send me stuff like feedback and requests!
your best friend. he was your best friend and now he was going to go work at stark industries, just like you guys always talked about. you were so proud of peter for getting that internship with tony stark, and you knew how excited he was for it, so why did your heart sink whenever you thought about it? childhood best friends did separate things all the time, what was one summer of peter in another city? it's not like it was one of the last summers you guys had together before real life took over. it's not like you had been waiting all year to spend this summer together and had made a list of things to do. it wasn't like that at all. except it was. but regardless of how it was, you had to be the person that supported him, because you knew he would've done the same to you. so there you stood, outside his place with a bottle of cheap champagne you had gotten your cousin to buy for you. you practiced your most genuine small once more and knocked, hearing shuffling inside.
the door swung open to reveal peter, with disheveled hair and a t-shirt that was just a little bit too small. he smiled at you. "is that the science fair t-shirt from freshman year?" he looked down at the ratty shirt, like he forgot he was wearing something that fit him like a tight crop top. "oh yeah..." he chuckled, "you know when you're packing and you can't decide if you should bring something so you try it on to see if you could picture yourself wearing it? i guess i got carried away." you walked past him into his apartment, looking around at your second home. "while it makes your muscles look huge, i'm not sure that will follow an engineering internship's dress code," you turn back to him so you can admire the smile he offered to your joke. you were careful to keep the bottle out of his line of vision, "I brought you something," you wiggled your eyebrows. "got any plans for the rest of the night?"
"just finishing my packing, i have an early morning tomorrow." he pulled his tiny shirt off and reached for another that was sitting on a box.
"come on, be done. it's your last night." you watched as he pulled the new, fitting, t-shirt over his head and down his torso.
"i know, but..."
"peter, please? you owe me one date before you go." he blushed and his eyes widened. peter had always been a bashful kid, you could remember an incident in elementary school when the woman serving them lunch had called him sugar, and he turned as pink as his strawberry milk.
"um yeah, yeah okay."
you revealed the bottle from behind your back, "to officially celebrate you. i thought it'd be very grown up of us. it's a little cheesy in hindsight i guess." you handed it to him.
"no," peter said a little too quickly, "thank you. i'm gonna open it."
"you're going to have so much fun this summer. it's just like we used to dream about, inventing things. and with tony stark? that's huge peter."
he chuckled nervously, "yeah, i'm lucky i was accepted. it will be good experience." he was focused on trying to get the foil off the neck of the bottle that was covered in condensation.
"lucky? don't pretend it was luck that got you that," peter's eyes shot to yours, "it's obvious why stark thought you were special." he looked down at the bottle again, moving slowly as to listen to what you might say next. "you're the smartest kid in our class, and the smartest person i know, which is saying something because i know myself." peter exhaled, and you got the feeling he had been holding that breath in for a few seconds.
"i just can't get this stupid thing open," his hands grabbed at the cork.
"here, let me help," you reached out your hand to take the bottle.
"no i got it, i can do it," his words came out harsh, but not in an angry way, in a desperate way. like he was trying to convince himself and not you.
"hey, it's okay," you placed your hands over his as they finally stilled.
"i'm just scared. what if i let someone down?" you realized how tired peter looked, and you suddenly felt bad for pestering him into plans. "what if i can't do my job well and i disappoint everyone?" you were slightly confused about why peter thought his unpaid internship was so high stakes, but when you saw how anxious you looked you pushed it aside. you pulled the champagne completely from his grasp and placed it on the table. then you returned to him and pulled a chair next to his, putting one arm around one of his shoulders and placing your chin on the other.
"that's not going to happen, peter. i know i said you're the smartest person i know, and you are. but more importantly, you're the most hardworking and passionate person i know. i've never seen you do anything half-assed." you both stayed silent for a few moments and listened to each other breathing, thinking about what to say next. "can i say something selfish?" you ask, your face still close to his, but not facing him.
"sure."
"don't go."
"what?" he turned towards you, prompting you to pull away from his shoulder and look at him.
"stay here. you could easily find an internship here, especially since you have iron man's recommendation."
"usually you have to work for someone before they write you a recommendation," he says, his brow furrowed in confusion.
"you know what i mean."
"no, i don't."
"i'm trying to say you don't need this crazy far away job yet. plenty of people don't get internships like that for another two years."
"you're working this summer too remember?" you can hear a slight change in tone in peter's voice. it went from ignorant confusion to growing frustration in his confusion.
"please, i'm working in manhattan. i'm living at home, you're moving away. it's our last summer together for god knows how long, and you're leaving." it was true. you also had an internship, but you knew that this wasn't about work, and you thought peter might know that too.
"i can't just quit now, mr. stark is counting on me. i told you." you started to wish you hadn't said anything. not only was peter leaving but now you're last conversation you two was going to be an argument.
"i know but–" he cut you off.
"you told me to take the opportunity, i don't know why you're mad at me!"
"i'm not mad, i just–" this time you stopped yourself. you weren't mad. you were hurt. you were disappointed, in yourself, both for not saying anything earlier, and for saying anything at all. you were sad. you were heartbroken. so you did what you thought might give you some closure. you felt your legs carry you straight in front of peter and you kissed him.
the world felt like it stopped. it wasn't like fireworks like the movies always said. because while it was a first kiss, it was a goodbye kiss. the moment your lips touched his, you knew it was just one more thing for him to take with him when he left. the kiss was practically perfect. peter's arms went around your waist in a gentle but reassuring way. it wasn't hungry or lustful, it was textbook girl-gets-the-guy and they kiss in the rain at the end of the movie. it's like he had been waiting for you to do this. and it was all for nothing. you pulled away, after a beat you opened your eyes and met his, which were searching for an answer. "i'm just too late," you said, you tried to offer a small smile but you felt a lump form in your throat. you turned and walked towards the door. before turning the handle of the knob, you took a deep breath and looked back at him, your best friend. "i'm really proud of you peter," you waited a second and continued, "and i love you." you had both said these words before but now you both knew they meant something different. you closed the door behind you and walked down the hall, thinking about how peter would be saving the world this summer while you would be picking up the pieces to yours.
a/n part 2: ok so honestly i wrote this with a happy ending originally but i hated it so much so i stuck with angst. sorry about it. anyway, happy summer y'all. see you when i see you.

Bio-dad Bruce--first meeting
(Apparently telling myself I have to much going on to participate means nothing. I had an idea and it demanded to be written.)
It felt like such a simple assignment. Pretty basic genetics lesson for biology. Blood type was an easy thing to test in class. Their biology teacher had asked that they bring in the known blood types of their immediate family to help with understanding how it would work to pass on the genetic traits. Marinette had no siblings but she knew both her parents were O+.
They had finished with eye color during the last class and that was no concern for Marinette. Genetics could easily explain how the recessive blue eyes could come from the green and grey of her father and mother. But she had never known her blood type before. Just like with the eyes she should have received the recessive o from each of them making her blood type O.
She had already told her parents blood type but when she took the test it wasn't right. She told the teacher the expected answer when she was called upon for her test result and the teacher went on to explain how this was the most likely response with a 1 in 8 chance of having O- instead. Marinette didn't show anyone her test results. She was too confused. There was no way she could have gotten A blood type from her parents.
She knew there were pictures of her mother pregnant with her. Her dad was in the room when she was born and they had been married for 6 years before her mother was pregnant. She didn't want to think that her mother had cheated but there were not many other options. Her parents always seemed so in love, Marinette didn't want to ask them how it was possible.
She was quiet the rest of the week until she came up with a plan. She would simply take a DNA ancestry test and that would make everything make sense. It was probably a faulty blood type test and she was interested in the results she would get anyway. So, that weekend she got everything together and sent off for answers.
---
Tim wasn't paying much attention to the alert from his phone because he was just waiting for his coffee order. He looked down and read it. Then he read it again before he ran out of the shop without the coffee. He headed directly back to Wayne Enterprises to tell Bruce in person what he had learned.
Bruce was not happy to be pulled from his meeting by his son. He seemed to have an issue with a small French subsidiary company that did medical and genetic testing. Tim was talking too fast and he couldn't quite make sense of any of it. His head was already filled with the stock prices and percentages being discussed at the quarterly report meeting he had just left. He wasn't switching gears quickly enough for the science Tim was explaining.
"Are you even listening to me?" Tim asked frustrated "How would you even end up with another child in France?"
"Wait, what? I don't have any children in France." Bruce responded.
"The test was flagged in the system as a match for you. But that isn't all. She appears to be a match with Damian's DNA." Tim said.
"I have a daughter with Talia? I really don't think that is possible."
"It appears that way. I haven't looked into anything on her yet."
"I need to pack a bag."
"You don't think that is a little premature? She could have been trained to kill you."
"We will still do background on her. But if I have another child, I want to meet her."
---
Marinette was frantically gathering things she needed while holding her phone to her ear, talking to Nino. She grabbed her bag, a hanging garment bag and a stack of bakery boxes. She looked over and glared at her bag with the decorations before setting down the boxes and reaching for the straps of the bag.
"Argh, this isn't working right. I need more hands."
"You are trying to carry too much. I knew you would do that. It's why I planned ahead and got you a ride." Nino's voice came through the receiver after he finished laughing at her.
"The hotel is not far away. Who would give me a ride?"
"My buddy Adrien. He should be arriving any minute."
Marinette looked up as the bells on the door chimed. Adrien walked in followed by 2 men in business suits that Marinette couldn't help but admire. She jumped at him with a fierce hug, forgetting all about her phone call. Her phone flew off her shoulder right at the older of the 2 businessmen. His blue eyes danced with amusement at her shocked expression as he caught it easily.
"Oh wow. Thank you so much. I'm sorry for throwing it at you. That was so cool." Her excited voice stilled as she realized she was still against Adrien, having frozen in their hug. She pushed away and reached for her phone.
"Thank you again." She turned back to Adrien. "And thank you for the ride. I have so many things to carry."
Nino's voice came through the phone, "what is happening?"
"Oh, sorry Nino. I kinda threw you away when I saw Adrien."
"Don't I mean anything to you? What about our love?"
"I couldn't help myself. When I saw him with the sun shining in his gorgeous golden locks it was all I could think about."
Adrien raised his eye brow at her but she waved him off with her hand and gave a conspiratorial wink.
"You've gutted me." Nino said.
"I'll set you up with my best girl. She is 16 and I know you have a thing for older women."
"Well I can't have you, baby. I guess I'll meet her."
"Ugh. Too far Nino. Don't ever call me baby again. Even as a joke."
"But you are baby."
I'm hanging up now."
"Don't forget your shoes."
"My shoes!" Marinette ran off, shoving her garment bag and her phone into Adrien's hands, she rushed back to her living room to get her shoes to go with her party dress.
---
Bruce and Tim hadn't been sure that they would see the girl when visiting the patisserie owned by her parents. But when they entered the establishment they quickly recognised the girl buzzing around as the same one they had researched after learning she shared Bruce's DNA. When he met her eyes, in the moment he handed her phone back to her, there was no mistaking that she got his eyes.
They took just enough time deciding what to try so they were able to see her as she went in and out several times collecting all she needed from what they gathered was her best friend's birthday party. She kissed her parents on the cheek and promised to see them tomorrow before she zipped back out the door the last time.
As the men walked back to their hotel they talked about how they should proceed. None in the family seemed to recognize them and they weren't sure how she came to be with them even though she was Bruce and Talia's biological child. When they arrived back at their hotel they were surprised to see the same girl unloading all the things she had packed and giving direction to the others gathered with a confidence she hadn't seemed to possess before.
All those working for her were occupied setting up decorations, sounds equipment, or tables for gifts and treats as she guided the bodyguard of her friend from the bakery in how to carry the massive cake and where to place it. When he finished and was heading out she offered him a small package from the bakery when she thanked him for all his help. Then she was off setting up for her friend's arrival.
It was odd for Bruce to realize he was feeling proud watching her. Then he had to pull himself back when he realized he was watching her. Actually it was Tim who pulled him away so he wouldn't be noticed watching a teenage girl he had never really met. They headed back to the rooms they rented. They both entered Tim's room where his computer was still working on finding information on the couple and their daughter.
---
Marinette was feeling very antsy. She had set up the perfect surprise party with Marlene Cesaire for Alya's 16th birthday. Mostly successful because it wasn't a surprise. Alya was dropping off the twins with her mother at the end of Marlene's shift in the hotel kitchen before she headed to Marinette's house for a small party in the bakery and a sleepover.
Alya had no idea how big her party was going to be. Since the hotel wasn't full and the ballroom hadn't been booked, the mayor allowed his chef to book two rooms and the ballroom and just pay for the staff to clean it rather than the typical rate. He was even allowing the teenagers to stay unaccompanied so long as they didn't destroy the room or disturb other guests (too much).
Marinette had made her a special dress with a matching hero mask and told everyone to dress as a hero or wear a mask. Kitty Section would be playing for a bit and they had a bunch of party games and songs to dance or sing to so Alya could choose the activities. Most of the people coming would be staying in one of the 2 connected hotel rooms so that party could go really late.
She got Nathanael and Marc to sit nearby and watch to warn her when Alya was close. They weren't super close to Alya so it wouldn't raise suspicion if she saw them, she would probably just stop to greet them but let them keep working. That would give them the perfect opportunity to call ahead to make sure everything was ready for her arrival.
Marinette was already regretting inviting Lila. She was not only actively not helping but she was getting in the way of everyone who was helping. She had to explain how it would have been better if the tables had been moved or if the color scheme was different. She thought hotel parties were tacky and the way her last party was was so much better because she only included her closest celebrity friends. But also the party was actually her idea and she was letting Marinette help out and take the credit so she wouldn't feel left out.

"I think I found something." Tim said.
Bruce walked over to look at the screen. Tim showed him Sabine's medical records from 16-18 years ago. She and Tom had been seen by a fertility specialist originally almost 18 years ago. A series of appointments after that escalated to several visits at a facility that specialized in in vitro fertilization. As far as they could tell the couple had set it up to have a genetic child but with assistance but the company had logged 2 security issues during the same month they visited. The company kept it quiet because they could find nothing out of place after the breech. One new employee worked there during that time for only 2 months: Nyssa Raatko.
"I don't know what to do'" Bruce paused. "Tell them. I definitely need to tell them."
Bruce has mostly been talking to himself while Tim was in the other room distracted. Tim heard the door latch closed after Bruce left and he had to think about what he had heard while he wasn't paying attention in order to put together why Bruce had left.
"Oh, that is a terrible idea," he said. He worked on getting his key, wallet and phone into his pockets while he slipped his shoes back on. He followed after Bruce planning to catch up with him. He walked a block in the wrong direction before he realized his mistake and back tracked to get back to the patisserie.
---
"Okay, I got the call. Alya will be here in about 1 minute. Places everyone." Marinette called out.
Everyone waited and suddenly the ballroom doors burst open. Etta and Ella had been very excited to be told it was their one chance to run away from Alya and into the ballroom. They usually were scolded for going in there. It was of limits because it might be used for an event and no one wanted them to mess things up.
Alya chased them into the room and shrieked when everyone jumped out and yelled:
"Surprise!"
"Oh, this looks awesome. How did you do all this? There is no way we can afford this." Alya said.
"Honestly, Marinette did most of it." Marlene said. "She cleared it with me and Mayor Bourgeois. I think she had a back up plan but the ballroom and the 2 guest rooms are yours because they didn't sell. He let me just pay the cost for the hotel so long as nothing is destroyed and you don't run off guests."
"Girl, this is amazing!"
"I brought you a dress to wear. I told everyone it was hero classy so there is a mask to match."
Alya pulled her into a hug and then dragged her off to change into the new dress.
---
"Welcome back. We are closed but we will still offer anything we still have available." Tom said.
"I enjoyed what I had here, but that isn't why I came. I need to talk to you about your daughter." Bruce said.
"Marinette? What happened? Is she okay?" Sabine's mind went to all the things that could have gone wrong in the last hour as she looked around for her phone.
"Nothing has happened to her, but she recently sent off for DNA and ancestry results to a company I own."
"We don't know anything about that. Was she supposed to get a parent signature because of her age?" Sabine asked.
"No. It was flagged because her DNA is a match to mine. Also a full match to my biological son. She shares the same mother as him."
The room was silent for several beats before both of them denied that what he said could be possible. He let them continue for a moment before sharing what he had learned. He explained that his genetic material had been stolen by Damian's mother and from there he believed it had been stolen by her sister for an unknown purpose. He told them he found a record of her working at the fertility clinic they had used and the company had noted a couple security breeches during that time. He continued by suggesting she had probably chosen them based on a similar ethnic makeup to himself and the mother.
They listened with increasing agitation. The man before then appeared to be very well off and he mentioned that he owned the company as more of an afterthought. They suspected he had quite a bit more money than them and he said he had custody of the other child he mentioned. They shared a look and thought they might be having the same thought that this man intended to take their child away from them. They weren't sure who legally had the right to a child in such cases. But they had heard of custody issues with couples who needed to use donors during in vitro fertilization. They had been relieved that they were able to get pregnant without using a donor. They all turned as the door opened and Marinette burst in obviously angry.
"Hold me back from that little Italian witch. I am going to rip her weird pseudo pig tails off her head and thrash her with them. Then I'll cram them down her throat so she can never lie again."
All eyes turned to Marinette as she came into the room. Based on her appearance she was probably heading up to her bedroom to change her dress. The bodice of her dress was smeared with icing after Lila 'accidentally' tripped into Marinette. Marinette then accidentally dropped her so she fell but that didn't save her dress.
Marinette looked at her parents as she felt the tension in the room. Her parents had moved to place themselves between her and the stranger in their living room. Marinette looked around but no one spoke. She didn't know how to read the unusual look on the man's face but her parents looked like something between scared and angry.
"Is something wrong?" Marinette asked.
"I was just heading out," the man said. He reached a hand out, smiling. "I'm Bruce."
"Marinette," she responded while shaking his hand. She looked back at her parents and now she couldn't tell what their expressions meant as Bruce walked out.

Continue the omega bakugou one with OmegaBakuharem ft alpha reader x omega bakugou x alpha kirishima (poly)
I hope you enjoy! I was hoping I would get a request like this since I did mention that Bakugo would’ve been willing to date either of you in his little scenario.
You and Bakugo Courting Kirishima
Tumblr media
Once everybody got to the dorms, word spread like wildfire that you and Bakugo had started courting. Some made jokes about how it took being kidnapped was what it took for you both to get together, but you quickly told them that they were being insensitive and needed to put a sock in it. Despite the teasing, everyone seemed happy for you honestly. Mina congratulated you both, Denki teased but quickly stopped when he heard Bakugo growling, and hell, even Deku congratulated his friend on getting a mate. It was honestly kind of weird since neither of you really saw it as a big deal, but many others did.
It was only the first night when you heard Bakugo huffing in his nest that sat in the corner of the room. His burnt Caramel scent was stronger than ever. “Baby, what’s buggin’ you?” You asked and sat on the edge of his bed before noticing that he was holding onto one of Kirishimas’ hoodies as if his life depended on it. “You miss Kiri?” You asked as you slowly got off of his bed to crawl in the nest with him. “Shut up, I don’t fucking miss him.” He rolled away from you. You chuckled a little and moved to play with his hair. “I mean, I do. Did you see how his face fell when they started gossiping about us courting?” “Yeah! They fucking act like we are married or some shit. It’s not THAT big of a deal. Like how the fuck did they know we were together anyway?” You chuckled and softly tugged on the tangled blond locks, making him calm down and a purr come from his omega. “Dunno baby, but I don’t like that they’re making it such a big deal.” He huffed and hugged the hoodie a little closer.
“I didn’t like seeing Kirishima like that.” He mumbled softly. “It made my Omega want to hug him and reassure him that everything would be okay.” You nodded before sighing softly. “Me too. My alpha hated seeing him look so down.” Bakugo huffed, focusing on your hands in his hair before a thought came to his head which only made his cheeks darken. “Whatcha thinkin of, Omega? You turned awfully red just now.” You teased a little, poking at his cheeks which only made him groan and roll his eyes. “Fuck off.” He sat up and moved to the other side of the nest, throwing a pillow at you as you started to make your way towards him again. “Oh, It’s on.” He saw you smirk and knew that he was in trouble, your hand reaching over to grab a pillow and try to hit him with it. He managed to block it and grabbed another pillow, continuing the pillow fight. It only ended when you threw yourself on top of him, pressing him down into one of the corners that was piled up. “Okay! Okay, you win.” he said before wrapping his arms around you, pulling you down against his chest with a huff. You could only chuckle and take one of his hands to hold.
“Since I won, you have to tell me what you were thinking that made your Omega purr that loud and those cheeks so red.” “What?! Bullshit I do not!” Your laughter as his cheeks turned red again only made him huff softly. “Asshole.” He mumbled as you settled down, wrapping your arms around his neck with a happy grin. “You love me though, so tell me. I promise I won’t judge.” He huffed, feeling you rub the scent gland on your wrist against his neck to try to coax his words out of him. He hated that it was working. “I thought...Of possibly adding Kiri to the relationship? N-Not that i don’t love you, Alpha, but...I think I might like him too.” Your alpha originally rumbled with jealousy at the thought of Bakugo with another alpha before you thought about it, the deep growl slowly disappearing. It would explain why your alpha wanted to comfort him when he was sad, and why it hurt when the other Alpha hid in his room for the rest of the day. “Alpha?” Bakugos’ eyes showed concern despite his almost annoyed expression. “Now what are you thinking?”
You hummed before slowly laying back down beside him, taking his hand in your own. “Your hand is as sweaty as ever.” He groaned and rolled his eyes. “Shut up, answer my question.” You chuckled a little before sighing. “I think I want that too. It’s never really been just us, and the three of us always seem to work best together.” Bakugo tried not to react to your words, but his happy cinnamon scent and purrs threw him under the bus. “Do you want to like...Court him together?” You only smiled a little before nodding. “As much as I adore it being just us, I miss having the boulder with us too.”
You both continued to talk for a while after, discussing what you both could do and reassuring each other that yeah, this is what you both wanted. It was decided that the actual date where you would bring it up would be at the end of the week. Each day you both would both give him courting gifts til Friday. Then you would have Bakugo make a huge nest for the three of you to snuggle in while watching the movie. Once you both had a basic plan, you gave him a quick kiss. “Now get the hell out. I’ll see you tomorrow, make sure you don’t forget it.” He barked at you which only made you laugh. “Of course baby. See you tomorrow.”
Monday: Bakugo made all three of you breakfast before class, griping about how you both tend to skip breakfast. Kiri seemed a bit more quiet at first, but slowly relaxed when he started to realize that this could work? You both acted the same as you did before being mated, so maybe he could handle it. Then after a bit of training, Kirishima left his jacket in the locker room only to have Bakugo hand him his, huffing about how he needs to keep track of his shit. If he wasn’t courting you, he would’ve sworn that this was courting. He only smiled sadly while wearing it for the rest of the day. When they got to the dorms for the day, Kiri was shocked to see that you had his jacket and when you gave it back to him, it seemed to be heavily scented. His Alpha almost melted when he put it on, thanking you for getting it for him.
Tuesday: Same breakfast routine, but this time you and Kirishima seem to gang together to try to make Bakugo laugh. It was successful since you both managed to get a few chuckles, and a snort as well. Bakugo was a blushing mess after, but it was so worth it. Then you managed to get your hands on tickets to go see that Movie Kirishima wouldn’t stop talking about. Surprising both him and Bakugo, you had Pre-ordered them just in case this happened. When you got to the movies, Kiri bought you both popcorn and drinks, and after the movie the three of you goofed off in the arcade until you decided to go home.
Wednesday: Breakfast, Training, and all three of you studying together for a test. You and Kiri joked a bit as Bakugo barks at you both to stay on topic. This only ended in taking a break that resulted in Bakugo grabbing the both of you by your hair, tugging it a bit to assert dominance which only ended up with him getting tackled against the bed and tickled until he was almost in tears. It was a soft side to the man he only allowed you both to see. Once Bakugo gave in, he hugged you both tight, suddenly becoming extremely aware of your three scents mixing together and how each Alpha managed to snuggle against both scent glands against his neck. His Omega burst in loud purrs and he kept you both there for a few minutes before snapping out of it to push you both off of him and demand you go back to studying. His cheeks were flushed and his hair seemed a bit messier, and it only made both Alphas proud of what they did. What surprised Kiri was that his Alpha wasn’t jealous about you being that close to Bakugo, but actually enjoyed how your scents seemed to stick to him.
Thursday: Bakugo scolded you for the night before yet you only goofed about it, claiming that he loved it. He avoided agreeing to it before moving to make breakfast. Kiri managed to stumble out early to join you both, a goofy and tired grin on his face that made Bakugo melt. He huffed when he sat the food in front of the tired alpha, tangling his hand in the bright red locks that had yet to be styled for the day, mumbling that he needed to eat well for the test that day. When you walked around to sit beside him, he felt your hand rub his back before you reassured him that he would do good. He could only smile sleepily, thinking of how lucky he was for having you two in his life. Kiri then mentioned the fair that was in town only for Bakugo to mumble that he’s never been. It made both alphas gasp and decide that you both would be going after school. Bakugo walked in between you and Kiri, listening to you both chat about everything that you would do while holding your hands. You both teased him about his sweaty palms which only made him point out that neither of you were letting go. Once you got to the fair, you ate junk food, went on many rides, and saved the best for last. As Bakugo was getting something to drink, you asked Kiri if you both should take him down the game area. Sure, it was almost deadly to surround an Omega with so many stuffed animals, but you both agreed and decided to turn it into a little game.
After Bakugo came back, you both put your plan in action. You held your hand on his lower back as he held Kirishimas hand, both alphas noticing how the Omegas eyes scanned all of the stuffed animals. It was almost with disinterest until he saw a large shark plush, then his eyes locked onto it and he bit his lip a little as he resisted the urge to beg his alphas to win him it, yet he didn’t have to say a word as you approached the game. “I got this.” You smirked, knowing the secret and science behind the ladder climb. Bakugo and Kiri were in awe as you managed to win it on the first try. “How the actual fuck?” The Omega asked as he released Kiris hand to hug the toy to his chest, instantly purring with it in his arms. “These are all rigged. I did a big study over these one day cause I wanted to impress somebody one day.” “Well mission accomplished cause I am confused as to how the hell you did that so easily.” Kiri said as they started walking again. As you walked, you ended up noticing something that the other two didn’t and quickly abandoned them before going to the basketball game, eyeing a Red Riot action figure. By the time the other two had managed to find you, you had it in your hands before thanking the man behind the counter. “Holy shit!” Kirishima smiled as you handed it to him with a grin. “Don’t use the backboard. You need to use a high arch since the hoops are usually smaller than normal, sometimes an oval shape, and the backboards are extra bouncy.” This continued as you all continued to play, telling the boys how to win each game. Throw harder on Darts because they’re usually dulled and the balloons deflated, hit the middle of the pad on the high striker so it has a higher chance of hitting the bell, and hit the bottom two bottles on the milk bottle toss since they’re often weighted. By the time you all were ready to go, your arms were all full of prizes. When you got back to the dorms, you all decided to share the majority of the toys since you didn’t need them all, and the happiness the other two had was enough to make your Alpha stand proudly, especially when Kiri and Bakugo were snuggled up against each other, examining their All Might and Red Riot figures.
Friday: Breakfast that was full of smiles and stories about the night before as well as a discussion about possibly going with the class on Saturday to show them how to win the games. Then Bakugo casually mentioned that you all should have a Movie night since you had nothing better to do, and both Alphas instantly agreed for about 5pm in Bakugos’ room. Kirishima couldn’t help but look forward to it all day, but he wasn’t expecting to find you and Bakugo snuggling in one of the biggest nests he had ever seen. He blushed before shutting his door, noticing how strong Bakugos’ scent was. “Damn, what put you in such a good mood Bakubro?” He chuckled and took off his shoes, moving to head to Bakugos’ bed instead of into the nest. “Just happy I guess. It’s been a minute since we did somethin’ like this” “We literally watched a movie on Tuesday” “Casually, you smartass. I mean that it’s been a moment since we’ve relaxed privately.” He bickered with you as Kirishima chuckled softly. “It’s nice. I was worried that you guys courting would make yall forget about me.” His voice had a hint of sadness as he crawled across the bed, sighing softly. “But I guess that was stupid for me to think that. You both would never just abandon me like that.” You frowned a bit and felt Bakugo squeeze your hand a little bit, clearly upset by his words. “Kiri, why don’t you join us in the nest?” You suggested as Bakugo let go of you so he could go grab the remote for his TV. “Wait...You sure?” “Yeah, we already discussed it before you came in. I made it bigger so you’d have room.”
Kirishimas’ alpha almost howled at the idea of being accepted into his nest, but he managed to keep himself calm as he got out of the bed to sit beside you in the nest, feeling his nerves calm down when you softly took his hand, giving it a reassuring squeeze before Bakugo joined you both, pushing you both apart so he could sit in the middle of you both. It made you laugh as the Omega huffed, angry expression contrasting the loud purring his omega was doing. “You feel better next to your Alphas?” You teased, poking his cheek as his blush started getting darker. “Would you just shut up and help me pick a movie?” “Awe come on Bakubro, it’s nothing to be ashamed of~” Kiri quickly joined in the teasing, moving to press his nose into the Blonds’ cheek. You watched as Bakugos’ brain stopped working for a moment, processing what was going on. “Yeah Omega, Don’t you enjoy having your Alphas here to hold you? Making sure that their Omega is all safe?” You added fuel to the fire, seeing him blush so hard that the tips of his ears started to flush. Despite him looking as if he wasn’t reacting, His omega was purring the loudest he possibly could which only caused the Alphas’ to feel pride at their ability to make the normally angry man so happy.
“Y-Yeah...I do.” The omega admitted as Kiri pulled away with a big grin. “We know~” You watched as Kirishima looked back at the omega with nothing but love and adoration, and it made your Alpha almost purr knowing that both boys were so in love with each other. You moved to softly slip your arm around Bakugo, making him jump and turn his attention to you. “Now?” He mumbled, eyes wide as if looking for you to guide him through the next step of the plan. Your small nod only made Kiri confused, even more when Bakugo turned to face him and huffed softly. “Kiri, we wanted to ask you something.” You had moved away from the nest, walking into Bakugos’ closet to grab the gifts you had planned.
“We don’t know if you noticed, but we had been courting you!” You said rather boldly before walking back into the nest, sitting down with a box on your lap. “We wanted to give this to you as our final courting gift.” “Save the best for last.” You handed the box to Kiri and he just looked down at it for a moment, chuckling when he noticed the different styles of decorating. “This meathead wanted to have it based on their interpretation of our hero costumes. I tried to keep it on you, but they couldn’t help themselves, right?” Bakugo cringed at the box, referencing the orange and black bow that matched his hero outfit that his Omega had tried hiding from you. “Yep! I think it looks good” “It just doesn’t match with the rest of the-”
“I love it.” Kirishima had cut you off, neither of you having noticed how he had opened the box and was holding the 3 necklaces in his hand. You both turn your attention towards him as he examined the 3 bands that were connected to the chains, each engraved with a simple “We love you” and a charm showing which one was for who. “We thought you’d like something you could carry to remind you that we could never forget you.” Bakugos’ voice was soft yet serious and you assumed he was referencing what Kirishima had said earlier. The red haired Alpha smiled again, trying not to get emotional as he sat them down. “Come here Omega, Let me put it on you.” His voice trembled a little, but he was clearly trying not to cry.
Bakugo quickly did as he said, sitting in front of him so the other could put the chain around his neck. He then did the same to you before Bakugo did Kiris. You were about to speak before Kiri started wiping at his eyes, alarming both you and the other. “Why are you crying?” Bakugo asked and moved to one side of Kiri, taking his hand, you followed his lead and doing the same with his other side. “I just..Hah fuck this is so not manly,” He chuckled and moved to squeeze your hands. “I got so scared that you both would leave me. I love you both so fucking much, and now I have you asking to court me.” He chuckled and carefully pulled his hands away. “It’s like a dream yknow? I’m scared that I’ll wake up.”
You grinned a little and moved to pull them both back into the nest fully. Bakugo knew what you were going to do and just hugged him close, scenting him to try to calm him down. You left quickly and came back with a blanket from your room, laying it across both boys before kneeling in front of them. “I’m getting snacks and shit. You both stay here and relax, I got you.” You cooed and quickly pecked them both before running off. Kiri only sniffled again and held onto Bakugo tighter. “I just...Can’t believe this is real.” Bakugo shoved Kiri in his neck, hoping his scent would help him relax. “It is, and we love you Kiri. Please stop being so damn hard on yourself.” He mumbled, playing with the red locks to help stop the tears.
When you got back to Bakugos’ room, you found Kiri snuggled up next to Bakugo as they searched for a movie. “Feeling better?” You asked as you sat down everything. “Alpha, we didn’t need a fucking feast. Just some popcorn would have worked.” The blond mumbled as Kiri grinned, seeing some steak fried rice that you made for him. “Is that what took you so long?” He asked as he took the bowl in his hand, grinning at the smell. “Well I assumed that a small meal wouldn’t hurt anyone.” You chuckled before handing Bakugo a bowl of ramen. “Thanks babe.” he mumbled, still looking for a movie. You grinned and quickly pecked Kirishimas cheek. “Besides, that smile is so worth the little work it took.” Kiri melted and smiled bigger as you curled up beside him, opening a bag of chips to eat. “Don’t get crumbs in my nest. If I feel that shit when I’m sleeping I will not hesitate to attack your ass.” You knew the threat was empty. “Okay babe.”
“I’m thinking horror” Bakugo mumbled before taking a bite of his noodles. “Good or bad?” Kiri asked, opening a soda for himself. “Don’t matter to me. I think somethin not so serious would be best though. We need a good chuckle.” Both boys hummed at your words as they searched. “Well I know Tucker and Dale vs Evil is pretty charming?” Bakugo hummed and found it quickly and started it up. Kiri couldn’t help but notice how you both calmed him down to an overwhelming degree. Your hand resting on his thigh and Bakugos’ hand in his own just made him take a deep breath. This was real, and he couldn’t be more happy. The night continued on with movies that were eventually abandoned for group cuddles, random kisses, and eventually falling asleep together in the large nest.

“I heard it!” Mikey said, waving his hands around in a wide motion, “It was like BANG. Er. Hm…” Just mouthing the sound effects did not do the point justice, so Mikey stood up and wobbled over to the closest thing that looked metal, banging on it a few times to show the resounding CLANK! “Like this!”
Raph’s eyes furrowed, and then shot wide. A breath hissed through his teeth and he shook his head back and forth with a slow pace. The reaction didn't go unnoticed.
“What’s up, Big Red? You seeing ghosts too?” Leonardo asked.
Raph gave another hiss, hands coming up to scratch at his head. He bit his toothpick in half and spat both halves separately onto the floor.
Donatello followed Raph’s spit and split toothpick all the way to the floor. “I just mopped in here.”
“Yeah. I might’ve.” Raph swiped his tongue over his lips.
“This is news to me.” Leo put his hands on his hips.
Raph eyed his brother with an ‘are you serious’ look. “No the fuck it ain’t. I told you an’ dad both that sommat weird was happenin’ right before Don and Mike came home. That something was in the bathroom with me!”
Michelangelo gasped softly. “It’s a pervert ghost.”
“I knew that chastity belt would come in handy!” Donatello exclaimed. “Ain’t no pervert ghost taking my turtle-hood. Not without a fight!”
“Donnie, please stop talking.” Leonardo said quickly, and in the same breath addressed Mikey and Raph. “If he saw something, and he saw something, then… they saw something.”
“Yes, that’s how seeing things tend to work.” Donnie agreed.
“What I’m saying is that Mikey, apparently, wasn’t there when Raph had his prevent ghost encounter, and Raph wasn’t here when Mikey had his. Raph, did you tell Mikey about what you saw?”
“Nah.” Raph shook his head. “He was all… you know… seizing.”
“Then how could Mikey know about it and give the exact same account? And it’s not even in the same place! Something is here, and something is following you guys.”
“Seems like a stretch to me.” Leo crossed his arms, and though he tried to show nothing but confidence, his voice wavered as uncertainty latched upon him.
“Your voice says otherwise.” Leonardo waved a finger.
“With all do respect, Leo, you are in our world.” Raphael said, “It doesn’t work the same as yours. Something could have gone through or…”
“I would have noticed it.” Leo flashed his teeth, “I would have senses something-- Donatello’s alarms would have picked it up!”
“Mystic stuff isn’t always so easy to detect, you know.” Donatello said, “It’s possible his tech wasn’t advanced enough to pick up on mystic traces.”
“Okay, now I’m offended.” Donnie crossed his arms.
“I speak only the truth.” Donatello stuck up his large nose.
“Guys, stop fighting!” Mikey whined.
“Who’s fighting?” Leo asked, “We’re not fighting!”
“You’re fighting with me right now!”
“No I’m not!”
“Can we not do this?” Michelangelo frowned, starting to shrink into his shell.
“I know what I saw.” Raph snarled.
“I thought it was what you didn't see.” Leo retorted.
“Heard, then!” Raph got in Leo’s face, “And Mike heard it too!”
All the arguing and shouting and pleading mixed into one near-unintelligible screaming match where just enough of each argument got through for the opposing party to make a new comeback. Through the cacophony of voices, there came a soft voice that couldn’t placed to anyone.
“Please stop fighting…”
The barely audible words were heard even past the screaming, and it put an immediate end to all arguments. Some of the turtles were left with their mouths still hanging open, mouthing the words they were about to say except without volume. Eyes widened and one by one turned to seek the source of the voice that had spoken.
The small origin of the small voice couldn’t have stood more than three feet in height. His body was a sleek one with rounded edges and an oversized head; if there was a single pointed edge on his entire body, none of the turtles could see it. His eyes were wide, owl-like screens with white pupils rimmed in green sliding around, impossibly expressive for something clearly inorganic.
Everyone stepped back, and it came naturally to all of them that the smaller brothers were pressed back deeper into fold while the bigger brothers stood in front, eyes locked on the robot. A whirl joined every fluid motion he made looking between all of them, from Raph to Donnie to Leo to Raphael to Mikey. No one could find the breath to respond, and when the stranger took a step forward, everyone else took a step back.
“I’m terribly sorry.” The voice was the most polite voice one could imagine; he folded his hands together as he kept looking between the turtles. “I did not intend to make you fight. Or to startle you just now. I only wanted to stop the yelling.”
Still no words could be said, for they were all speechless.
“I am speaking the right language…” The robot said slowly, “I heard you all speaking it just a second ago. OH! Is my accent weird…?”
Donatello was the first one to break out of his silence, the stunned look on his face quickly shifting back to his normal, uncaring expression as he turned to look at his brothers.
“Wait, why are we stunned again? We’ve seen way weirder.”
Michelangelo let his shock fade away. “Oh yeah.”
“What’s your name?” Raphael asked politely.
The robot seemed overjoyed, giving a bounce of pure happiness. “Hello! My name is Professor Zayton Honeycutt and I am a man of science! Both literally and metaphorically.”
“I… you…” Donnie stumbled over his words as they all fought to get out at once. Though the stunned shine in his eyes remained, astonishment and excitement slowly grew to join. “You’re a robot!”
“Yes!” Said Honeycutt.
“You’re… tiny.” Raph scrutinized.
“Yes!” Said Honeycutt.
“You’re the ghost?” Leo gawked.
“Yes!” Said Honeycutt.
“You’re so cuuuuute!” Mikey ran forward to get a closer look, falling to the ground to ever so tenderly shift Honeycutt around.
“Yes!” Honeycutt said, “I am Professor Zayton Honeycutt, and I am a man of science! Both literally and metaphorically!”
“You eh… said that already.” Raphael pointed out.
“Ah. Apologies. As a robot, I do tend to make a habit of redundancy.”
“Right…” Leo said slowly, then cleared his throat, “Well, I suppose you need our names…”
“Nope!” Said Honeycutt, “You’re Leonardo, you’re Donatello, you’re Raphael, and you’re Michelangelo!” He seemed very proud of himself, turning next to the Hamato brothers, “And you’re Leonardo, you’re Donatello, you’re Raphael, and You’re Michelangelo. Easy pattern to follow!”
“Exactly how long have you been following us…?” Raph’s words were slow as he lumbered forward to join Mikey in looking over the robot, though without touching him.
“Oh, not that long!” Honeycutt beeped, “Only a week…”
Leo’s eyes went wide. “A WEEK?!”
“Yes!” Honeycutt said, “Seven days! Eight if you count today!”
“I…” Leo was lost for words and when they finally escaped his lips, there was very little force behind them, “How did I not know…?”
“Do not feel sad, Leonardo, I was in hiding! Not even the Triceraton Prime Leader himself could have found me!”
Raph blinked. “The what?”
“The Prime Leader!” Honeycutt repeated.
“Yeah… w-what is that?” Leo asked. He kneeled down to try and get more level with Honeycutt, but even then was two heads too big.
“That’s the name for the triceraton leader.” The answer came from Mikey, not from Honeycutt. Mikey was proud as first, beaming so wide his eyes were squinted shut. Then his smile faded and he blinked as joy was replaced with utter confusion.
“That’s correct!” Honeycutt praised.
“Mike…?” Donnie asked in his soft voice, “How’d you know that?”
“I… I dunno…” Mikey shrugged. His panicked eyes confirmed his words true. He turned to his brothers as the fear took seed in every aspect of his being. “It— it just slipped out!”
“Oh, what joy!” Honeycutt declared with a clap of his hands.
“No, no, not joy!” Mikey’s voice had grown into a higher pitch.
Honeycut tilted his head and his face panel shifted to one of confusion. “Why not joy? Knowledge is such a wondrous thing to achieve! Wouldn’t you agree, Donatello and Donatello?”
Neither of the purple ninja seemed particularly interested to respond to the robot’s query. Like a stubborn child who couldn’t take a hint that he was unwanted in the situation, Honeycutt remained patiently waiting on the tips of his feet, screen bright. To put an end to the awkward staring contest that they had unwillingly entered, Donnie cleared his throat.
“Yeah. I… I guess so…” He was extremely uncomfortable, shoulders bunched and head drawn deeper into his shell.
Honeycutt, seeming satisfied with the answer, beeped his agreement, “Yes! There is no guessing required! It is an unchanging fact of life on all planets, especially earth!”
“Wait…” Leonardo said, taking a step forward to point at Honeycutt, “You’re the andoroido, aren’t you? The android that bought all of Monroe’s rifts. Are you the one who took Don’s stuff too?”
From bright excitement to somber shyness, Honeycutt’s face screen shifted dark. “Yes. I apologize, but the Splinterson’s may not return home…”
Raph huffed hot air out of his nostrils. “Who you think you are, a free elf?”
Leonardo sputtered, and then broke down into laughter. Raph’s smile widened as his joke was acknowledged, but he was quick to clear his throat and straighten his posture to save face. Leo had enough of Leonardo’s laughter quickly, and before he could stop himself, he reacted the same way he would have if it had been Mikey laughing.
“This is a serious matter,” Leo said, “Not a laughing one.”
Leonardo made a point to laugh directly in Leo’s face, crossing his arms as he leaned so close his beak almost touched Leo’s. “Sounds like a job for mister serious then. Go on.”
“Don’t think I won’t.” Leo snorted, then turned to Honeycutt, “Zayton, I demand you give Donatello his stuff back now and give us those rifts you bought.”
“No.” Came Honeycutt’s simple answer.
“Uh.” Leo didn't know how to react at first. He cleared his throat. “I’m gonna give you until the count of three to return that stuff!”
“Oh! Okay!” Said Honeycutt chipperly.
Leo, all confidence now down the drain, began to count down. “One…”
Honeycutt’s face was still just as happy and joyful, fingers intertwined as he listened.
“T-two…” Leo’s voice stuttered.
“Oh boy, I can’t wait to find out what comes after two!” Honeycutt was excited.
“T… two and a half. Two and three quarters…”
Honeycutt still had yet to react.
“Three…”
“Yay! Good job!” Honeycutt clapped an applause, “You made it all the way to three!”
Leo’s shoulders slumped. Even without turning around, he could hear the snickers and snorts of his brothers trying their damndest not to laugh, except for Mikey and Leonardo, who were practically falling over with the force of his guffaws. Raphael cleared his throat and laid an oversized hand on Leo’s shoulder. Leo turned around to look at him.
“Why not let us have a go at him, eh?”
Leo, with no other option, agreed.

Carbon as a major factor in the origin of life and carbonated water.
Summary: They both think too much and are highly interpretive of their surroundings - objectively, of course. So it is inevitable that they will do the same with their soul mate brands, but things will look really simple on a trip to the zoo, where many carbon-based life forms are gathered, an element that is also part of their trademark formula.
Notes: This is part of the first challenge done on Twitter by @DcstChallenges, with the theme of soulmates. Don't hesitate to join on twitter and participate or support future challenges.
The system of soulmate identification was nothing more than an inefficient diversity of methods with a huge margin of error or at least ambiguity.
Statistics and probability confirmed this, Senku made use of these calculations in trying to understand this phenomenon, ruling out unprovable facts such as the resonance of dreams or thoughts, or slightly questionable ones such as writing on one's own skin and this also appearing on the other person's (how many could be writing on their own skin and inventing that it was their soulmate who had written to them?). Also the countdowns to over a thousand years were also proof of the untruthfulness that came with it.
Rooted to the facts, the mark on Ishigami Senku's right forearm was supposed to be the mark of his soul mate, but to him it was nothing more than the affirmation that he loved science.
At a certain point, he came to think that simply marks like his did not mean that someone was his soulmate, but that they simply had similar enough tastes or interests that they could hit it off. Which would explain why most people who found his markings ended up being a couple.
On his arm was tattooed the formula NaHCO₃, one of the most important compounds in history, to which he gave the meaning of being what proved that his destiny was science.
On the contrary, Asagiri Gen wondered if among his peers there would be someone whose first word they would cross with him would be that compound; would they pronounce it as the formula read, or would they simply say 'sodium bicarbonate'?
Eventually, his peculiar mark of soul mate became just another joke in his extensive repertoire, with the formula actually demonstrating his deep love of soda, with every bottle of cola that fell into his hands being his destiny.
They didn't think about it often, in fact they even forgot they had such a mark as they were so focused on their respective scientific and psychological/magical matters. So that Saturday, the marks on their arms were not foremost in their brains, instead they found themselves early in the morning preparing to leave for the zoo.
Byakuya found it opportune to distract his busy eleven year old son from incessant curiosity from time to time, offering visits that were stimulating and fun enough that Senku couldn't refuse, though there was no way he would have declined because he appreciated the old man's affectionate intentions... sometimes, when he didn't force him to wear a cap because of the sun.
At the same time, with the pressure of socialisation and the opportunity to experiment with his own charisma, Gen spouted witty remarks and questions to uncover those classmates who invited him on this outing. Exploiting his charisma and his wit to make their company more pleasant, until he was able to get a break after the lion section, offering his companions to set aside a table until they returned with snacks.
Had Senku perhaps taken two seconds longer to heed his periphery, he would have continued the tour with his father to leave and subsequently go for a bite to eat together, but inevitably he noticed the wrist of a young man of about fourteen or fifteen.
NaHCO₃
And he immediately asked Byakuya to pause, sending him to sit down to wait, which the elder somehow interpreted as a coy statement that Senku was hungry, so like a good tutor he retreated to get food.
Senku adjusted the straps of his backpack and positioned himself in front of the jet-haired boy, who was arranging a pair of pretentious sunglasses. He thought of a few probing questions, certain that the young man in front of him was also a science buff (What else could that mark mean?).
But Gen won the speak, slightly taken aback. "Are you lost?" he asked at the boy's sudden appearance.
So Senku dismissed all the questions he had thought of, remembering where they were and convinced that Gen was there for academic reasons.
"Elephant gestation lasts about twenty-two months and during elephant pregnancy the calf grows to a hundred or a hundred and fifty kilograms." he said.
‘Huh?!’
Senku counted thirty seconds, in which his determination showed in the way his brow tightened with each passing second. Gen remained expressionless despite the discomfort, inwardly contorting his face in stupefaction ‘What the hell is this...?!’
"Hah~," he regained his composure immediately and smiled. "as interesting as elephants being afraid of bees." replied, assuming this was one of those kids who liked fun facts... until realised he was looking for something more technical. "It's because bees can get into the mucous membranes and delicate parts of the elephant like the trunk, mouth or eyes and sting them. Of course, they can't pierce their skin, but you should know that.
This time it took ten seconds, which made the major sweat, until Senku smiled slyly.
"Not bad." the younger acknowledged.
Immediately, feeling a great deal of encouragement to exchange his extensive knowledge with Gen, he surmised that perhaps such chemical reactions, like the one he was feeling, were the explanation for why people who could not see colours got it when they met the person they matched with. Or how eye colour could change when they met, nothing more than physiological reactions related to hormones and perhaps genetic compatibility.
Interest was also piqued in Gen, who was trying to explain why Senku had taken the seat next to him so deliberately. When would he get the chance to meet someone so slightly peculiar again? The intrigue to know how effective his skill would be with this boy was agitating.
"Are you sure you're not lost." Gen echoed, holding his hands out to his sides in an effort to appear receptive. Senku's body language indicated he was being cautious. "Your parents won't be angry that you got separated from them, animals and information plates are so entertaining that they do this all the time."
Senku denied, lifting his face from the horizon to Gen. "You assume I'm coming with my family when the likelihood of me coming for a school trip is seventy-five percent, considering the offer they have for students on weekends." replied quizzically at that miscalculation.
If this kid had information about the elephants' pregnancy, why was Gen surprised that he also knew that accurate figure?
"You're right from a monetary and practical perspective," Gen said, not doubting that Senku was correct. "but, statistically, weekends are used for family and friends." the boy seemed unhappy that Gen didn't give an accurate figure "I think if you came with friends, you would have been lost together, and you don't look angry enough to explain away an argument."
Because of his sullen nature, Senku looked at him incredulously, slightly annoyed by the blatantly accurate analysis. He attributed his discomfort to the lack of numerical data that could have helped him compare and assimilate the diagnosis.
"Go on." Senku demanded.
Gen's hands continued the expressive mimicry, unconsciously showing his mar. "If it was a school trip, your teacher would have already reported you missing, the same applies if you were accompanied by the parents or relatives of your friends; the responsibility for a child who doesn't belong to them would have already mobilised them. I see you're learning a lot, but the absence of an alarmed teacher" Gen glanced around before continuing. "-means that a school trip is not the case."
"Efficient, a ten billion percent efficient." Senku credited.
All it took was a push. "Or could this be a distress call?" Gen moved slightly closer to add privacy. "Are you running away from someone?" he added in a sympathetic, empathetic tone.
Senku closed his eyes, weary of the other's deductions. "Fine, my father couldn't wait for us to go out to get something to eat, I know exactly where he is."
Gen smirked, proud that he had so neatly broken down the boy's suspicious barriers "So you came to me to entertain yourself in the meantime?" he remarked, considering he was apparently the only one who was also alone in waiting and thus became Senku's target. "You don't seem like the kindly type who would come up with an interesting fact just to entertain others without getting something in return." he mentioned intentionally.
If it was not help the younger man required, was looking for something more, an his restless gaze confirmed it.
The small, calloused hand pointed to Gen's forearm. "Your mark, it means sodium bicarbonate." said.
Among the things Gen expected to hear next was not his mark of a soul mate "I'm aware of that." replied. He wasn't aware of was that wearing a short-sleeved shirt in the heat would attract the attention of a stranger that day.
Senku smiled. The older might be different from what expected in terms of methodology and analysis, but that he knew the significance of his tattoo evidently earned him a ten billion points.
Gen for his part recalled the Monster Hunter player who explained the original use of NaHCO₃ for soda, which was the origin of the joke that, looking the boy straight in the eye, he backed away from wanting to change to an allusion to cheating on chemistry exams.
"Do you know what it means?" Senku asked with abrupt energy. Revolutionary inventions and the many uses of NaHCO₃ flashed through his head.
Unexpectedly, that excitement rubbed off on Gen and he replied. "I know what it means. "
Byakuya didn't wonder at first why Senku had decided to leave his arm exposed for the rest of the tour. The heat was reason enough... until he noticed that his son kept staring at the mark when he always downplayed it.
"In the rest area there was a boy who had the same mark as me." Senku revealed, making his father's jaw drop to the floor.
Sure, it had to be something like that, but Byakuya could never have guessed it was that encounter. And it wasn't his fault either, the last time Senku had been dismayed by his mark, it was when he explained to a stranger in Monster Hunter the uses of NaHCO₃, pleading for the component's inclusion in more video games.
As a result, Byakuya dragged Senku back to the zoo in search of his soulmate, admonishing him for being so insensitive and for letting the encounter go unnoticed without remorse. Disgruntled, Senku reaffirmed that all this talk of love and romance was as tedious as it was counterproductive.
Gen was satisfied on the way to the train station, the talk he had with the boy stretching into a mutually stimulating mix of technical commentary on carbon and life on earth, and a smattering of curiosities and humorous observations that he knew would please the youngster. He had been put to a demanding test, in a way that none of his companions could ever have done.
Which was perhaps why he ignored them until one mentioned:
"Asagiri, that boy you were talking to when we arrived, I saw him before we left and on his forearm he had a mark similar to yours." he alluded hesitantly.
The pieces fell into place... and Gen lost his senses once again.
It certainly wasn't the first and wouldn't be the last time sodium bicarbonate would bring them together under a new manifestation.
