Not me creeping up to the wordcount of the fourth longest book ever written

#A Reflection of Starlight #AROS #valvert #fanfic #writing #Hey I switched back to LibreOffice again after setting up my new computer #(RIP my old computer's installation of MS Office 2009)#And also my old computer in general as it is now giving me the blue screen of death upon boot #but ANYWAY #does anybody know how to make LibreOffice stop highlighting formatted areas? BC with Dark Mode it's highlighting white text #which makes it impossible to read my footnote and page numbers #Also I CANNOT believe this program was coded to be so that 'Ignore' and 'Ignore All' options only do so for the CURRENT SESSION ONLY #Like what in god's name???#I spent 3-4 hours reformatting AROS after converting it only to learn that all the 'errors' I told it to ignore just popped back #the second I reopened the document like jesus christ #Why even offer those options if it doesn't do it permanently for that document file #HHHHHHHhhhhhhHHHHHH #I then spent another several hours being forced to change the language formatting to French for all the French bits #JUST so it would stop underlining all of them in red #And there's no way for me to get rid of the underlining on things like cut off bits of dialogue #bc they are NOT proper words and I refuse to add them to my Dictionary (thus polluting it) just to get rid of them #Ugh #So anyway remember years ago how I joked about what if I accidentally wrote a fanfic longer than the source material itself #That being one of the longest books ever written (technically THE longest book ever written #if we're counting the FRENCH version of it and not the English translation #And yeah I know I technically split AROS into 3 books but that was only for reader convenience #It's still one book in my heart #And also because I think it would be REALLY funny to surpass Hugo's wordcount #Which is entirely plausible bc in English it was only about 531k so I only a little over 100k off and I think I can easily make that #with the material I have left to write but is already mostly plotted out

Let Me Entertain Youuu~!

Villains kidnap and force those of UA and some other heroes (staff, 1-A, 1-B, Shinsou, and Hatsume– doesn't have to be all of them) to watch each other's memories

Like the MHA-verse type fics they are kidnapped and held in a theater but in this they are watching each other's memories not their lives in other universes

The main villain is inspired by Harley Quinn, is obsessed with Present Mic, and has a memory projection quirk

Kinda like Ms. Joke obsessed with Eraser but worse, more demented, stalker-ish, and even more harassment

Memories are projected on screen (the memory holder can either be awake or not)

They are bound by quirk suppression cuffs (they work on mutations like Eraser's quirk, for example Ojiro's tail would lay limp and he wouldn't be able to move it, Shouji wouldn't be able to produce extra body parts, and Tsu can not use her tongue like she does all prehensile like)

Some of their worst memories are shown and some of their happiest are shown too

They see how they affect each other and what needs changed

This sets off a lot of events during and afterwards. Like Aldera being shut down, endeawhore being arrested, confessions being made, as well as rejections, all around secrets are outed, and just stuff like that

Maybe show the perspective of those who weren't kidnapped trying to find those who were??

Anyway... TRAUMA BONDING!! Lmao

Maybe 1-B can see what the USJ was like?? How everyone outside of class 1-A treats them bc the villain attacks?? idk

Seeing certain discrimination of others how they're treated, how they deal with it, and how it's affected them

I want to write more. I do. I have my internship, school, and work currently along with me adjusting to my body adjusting to no meds for my anxiety and depression.

I'm not sure if it connects but I feel I can see what I did when I first began writing fanfic and in general for my enjoyment which was EraserJoke in MHA/BNHA fandom. It's how my bf and I met - role-playing.

I was thinking about the fanfics I lost interest in and how I feel that I can sense and now embody the pain I wrote for Ms. Joke at the time when I wrote the PTSD, heavy depression and anxiety series I wrote for them. It's baffling how much laughter can be used or developed for your pain which I always saw her doing... Then that was how I connected to her at the time when I was hurting. I inserted myself into her and writing that fanfic was therapeutic for me. Idk if I'll pick it up and write for naruhina too since I'm still very obsessed with them. Maybe both.

I thought about some AUs or stories for them too. I would love to write on pain or trauma since it is my baby. I'm going to school for social work too. So, allowing people to know too that you too can write and develop a skill for yourself along with being heard, can help so many other people too.

I recall hearing people telling me that I was writing exactly what they were feeling through my writing and they felt that no one understood them, yet this explained it did so much for them. A community can do a whole lot for people and building them up instead of tearing them apart is so needed today. We all make mistakes because we are human. Our favorite characters do the same, so why not allow yourself to do the same.

Izuku. This song is so Izuku. This is also very Ms. Joke. Villain wise I'm thinking Toga. Especially the bit about (whoever) loving with no condition and with no care as to their love's past. All three of them haven't had it particularly easy (shhhhhh I'm headcanonning my wife Emi leave me alone) and I think it'd make them very devoted people. Especially in love. It's canon for toga, and borderline canon for Izuku.

I'm not a hardcore MS/DT person, but I fear I must share the dream I had with you.

Both Michael and David were on the Graham Norton Show and Michael was telling a story. They were in the same outfits from the episode with Chris Hemsworth except Chris wasn't there. I remember WORD FOR WORD what Michael said..

"What I did was the human equivalent of knotting." KNOTTING..?? "David came into my house and because he was travelling, I always feel the need to take care of travellers and *stutters*, y'know, so I laid him down and gave him a cuddle. Then we watered my plants and I just sort of.. ah- remember taking care of David in a lot of different ways."

Cue laughing at the innuendo.

Then, David leans over to Michael and flat out licks behind his ear. Like as a joke at first, kind of going blelele, but then the last one was so *sexual,* like a clean stripe from his neck to his ear with his hand on Michael's neck. Mind you, this is ON TELEVISION.. I can't stop thinking about it.

Oh my sweet-and-sour Jesus on a toaster strudel...THANK YOU for telling me about this dream! Haha. I love it. This seems so perfect, too, given that tonight was the Olivier Awards and both Michael and David were in attendance (though oddly never seen together).

So for those who may not know what "knotting" is, the origin of the term actually refers to a biological process that occurs in canine reproduction. In the realm of fanfiction, however, "knotting" falls under the heading of what is known as the Omegaverse (which I admittedly do not know much about, but if I had to describe it, if fan fiction genres are The Avengers, then the Omegaverse is the Jeremy Renner of fanfic). In the Omegaverse, however, you have what are known as "Alphas" and "omegas," and knotting is one of the sexual acts that tends to take place between these characters. (This post here has a handy dandy full-on explanation, if you're looking for more information.)

But I am just dying at the thought of Michael a) Knowing what knotting is (because of course he does); and b) Making an innuendo on television about doing that to David (because of course he would). I also can't tell if the "we watered my plants" is a euphemism or a Good Omens/Crowley reference, but either one feels entirely within the realm of possibility for something Michael would say on a chat show (especially Graham Norton).

And then the last part?? My god, we should all be so lucky as to actually see that happen. And given that we had David leaning over and doing this to Michael last summer, I really can't rule out the possibility. They were leaning into each other so much on the Graham Norton appearance, too, so that makes it even easier to imagine:

(I also love that we've seen that David is one of the very few people Michael has let touch his neck, so there is no question he would trust him enough to let David do that on television...)

Oh, yes. This was certainly quite delicious (and hilarious), and I am so glad you shared it with me. Let's just keep our fingers crossed and hope for a forthcoming Michael/David appearance where at least some of this could maybe happen. Fingers crossed...
