I love Yambureme so much, and I love the story! It got me thinking, how does 1-A react to their teacher being a Nomu now? How do they cope with losing their homeroom teacher and likely needing a replacement?

We'll see a bit more of their individual reactions in this next chapter but in general most of class 1-A use it as fuel to the fire of becoming heroes. It puts a much more dire spin on their education, especially immediately after during the sports fest. Everyone is fired up and serious and unfortunately find it difficult to enjoy themselves.

Midnight and All Might take on a joint homeroom position for the class in his absence. It really helps the class keep it together because Midnight can tell them stories about Shouta when he was young (even though he might be a little cross with her for it) and bolster their confidence that his self-built strength will keep him alive until he's brought home.

The genius conception of self sacrifice in MHA

From the very first chapter we are told that "Self sacrifice is what makes someone a true hero".

But throughout the entire narrative of MHA, self - sacrifice is painted in a bad light. The entire vigilante Deku arc is about this.

Then why is self sacrifice a symbol of true heroism?

Because the entire story was seen with the eyes of Deku who is influenced by All Might!!

It's such a big point that throughout the story All Might keeps pushing Midoriya to his limit, because he thinks that without his power of OFA or without his self sacrifice, he is not a true hero. This is a very old school concept of true heroism shown in comic books of the late 90s and MHA is heavily focused on the theme of comics.

But then, All Might loses his power. After that, he kept believing for the longest time that his life doesn't serve a purpose. Now that he is not the knight in shining armor, he is not of value anymore but we know that's far from the truth.

As the story goes on, All Might learns to live without his power and also the influence he could still make on people just with him living. A lot of people believed that All Might should have died in Kamino because his arc concluded there. There were great emotional stakes too but he survived.

And we see that the hero system still falls in chaos, yada yada. But what about the backlash? Bakugo.

Think about Bakugo.

He was so damn guilty that All Might lost his power in order to save him. Think about his guilty conscience had All Might died!

Another example is Todoroki.

He had a powerful quirk. He should have been a hero and yet his actions were painted in a bad light because he was doing everything to take revenge on his father. In the end, his empathy is what saved the Todoroki family and that made him 'The Todoroki family's hero'.

Another example is Eri.

Throughout the arc, we see that her quirk was painted as a curse but Deku changed its meaning and used it as a blessing to save everyone from Overhaul.

Eri also killed her family by mistake and she was living in all of that trauma but would killing her have solved the problem? No.

So they conducted a mission to rescue her and used her power for a greater good.

Just like Toga who is a recent example. She was abused by her family because of her quirk. They called her a deviant and she committed various crimes for survival. But would killing her solve the problem?

People are people and Quirks are Quirks.

Nothing good would have come from Endeavour and Touya dying, think about Todoroki family members they will be leaving behind.

Just one mistake doesn't make someone a villain, Deku said it himself while defending Aoyama. Same for people like Gentle Criminal and Lady Nagant.

Again, NO.

Because self sacrifice is not good.

Killing anyone for punishment is not good.

So, if self sacrifice or a quirk doesn't make someone a true hero, killing villains doesn't make them a true hero, then what does?

Their love, acceptance, understanding, atonement, empathy and courage makes them a true hero.

Ochako, Todoroki, Iida, Deku, Bakugo, All Might, and even people like Kota are all true heroes!!

Mha portrays self-sacrifice, killing villains, powerful quirks make someone a hero but in its essence, it has always been a story about how "True heroes are those who give help that was never asked for!".

MHA is a story about people learning that they matter, even without their quirks.

Out of all the pro-heroes from 1A's genwrarion, Izuku is by far the worst partner to choose because he is the most career-focused out of the group. "But Viburnt, what about Kacchan? What about Iida? What about-" I'll get there, let me explain.

We all know that, since he was a kid, Izuku's dream was to become exactly like All Might: a hero who could bring hope and safety to those who needed it. Compared to others, however, he didn't have it easy; he was born quirkless. The people around him tried to bring him down, he struggled with his new powers once he got them, and to make it all worse, he had to deal with the responsibilities of being All Might's successor.

Izuku sacrificed a lot (perhaps too much) to become pro-hero Deku, forgetting that sometimes life is more than his job. So when he marries you, his brain sort of assumes he can take you for granted because "you understand how important his duties are". Because, why wouldn't you understand that he had to save lives?

The first few years of marriage are like a fairytale, gotta give him that; he showers you in gifts and attention, buys you expensive jewelry, and takes you to his galas. You're Mrs. Midoriya, but you soon face the harsh reality of being tied to the number one hero of Japan. You soon understand that being Mrs. Midoriya implied more than a wedding ring.

The stress of being constantly under the scrutinous eye of the media takes a toll on the dynamic of your marriage. Mistakes can't happen, scandals or situations that can be taken out of context are strictly forbidden. You are trapped in a golden cage, and you can't complain because your husband is so good to you! What kind of person would dare to say a thing about the man that gives them all kind of luxury?

Izuku spends a lot of time patrolling or on missions to take care of you, often coming home late or forgetting important dates or promises. He tries to make up for his lack of attention by buying you even more stuff, but that doesn't quite sustain a marriage, you know?

Needless to say, if you want to form a family, you'll have to do it on your own. He is barely at home, and when he is he's just so worn out by the routine he straight up falls asleep. Supposing intimacy does happen and he gets you knocked up, you'd pretty much raise that baby by yourself.

And now, back to the first point. Why is Izuku the worst if there are other characters that are as career focused as him? The answer is fairly easy: environment. If you take a look at Bakugo (to exemplify), he was born and raised with both parents. He was taught how to do chores, how to be self sufficient and independent, and how to be responsible. Bakugo has his own flaws like being unable to communicate his feelings properly and being too stubborn for his own good (which can also make him a terrible husband if unresolved) but he doesn't have a trauma as big as Izuku's. He never had to fill someone else's shoes. Bakugo (in his own odd and stubborn way) grows out of that unreasonable competition with Izuku, and accepts he is a worthy hero.

Izuku doesn't change in that way whatsoever, he becomes worse. Even if he has a supportive environment, he still feels the need to throw his life under the bus for the sake of everyone else's safety. He may seem independent on the outside but he is not, he depends on Deku. Izuku needs Deku to feel useful, and Deku needs Izuku to keep going. Does that make sense?

Divorcing him is also a nightmare by the way, but I'll talk about it in another set of headcanons if you want <3

“OH MY GOD, THATS RED RIOT THAT’S FUCKING RED RIOT, Midoriya!”

Okay, listen.

Red Riot doesn’t have a fan base; he has a fucking cult.

That guy had the glow up of the century after going through puberty.

Red Riot? More like Red Daddy.

No jokes, people say that quite a lot when they are talking about the hero. He’s so liked for his looks he actually managed to beat Dynamight and Deku on the “best looking bachelor” charts.

Red Riot barely had any presence in the hero world for his first few years; he had no confidence and he really didn’t think he can be a good hero or at least that’s what he’d said in the interviews. Then Dynamight took him under his wings, took him away from his last agency and that’s when the name Red Riot became a phenomenon; he got even more ripped and grew his hair out but still kept it red, just one shade darker; it’s shorter at the front and really long at the back which makes him look like a lion; majestic and frightening when fighting a villain. His close relationship with Dynamight also helped the blonde to get a better reputation, which he definitely needed at the beginning of his career; Dynamight might have been the one who saved the redhead first, but to be honest, they both saved each other from themselves.

Needless to say, the two heroes are constantly shipped by the fandom, and reading Bakugou’s rants on his official social media about it always makes your day better. Once he posted a picture about Red Riot sprawled out on his lap after a night out, drooling like a Rottweiler all over his trousers with the caption “Do you really think I would ever kiss that mouth?”, but people focused on the intimacy of the photo instead of it’s meaning. The blonde got so furious he deleted himself from the internet for two weeks.

Red Riot also admitted that he absolutely lives for Dynamight’s rants, so sometimes he stirs shit up just to get a reaction out of the blonde; he posts domestic pictures of Bakugou making breakfast in nothing but boxers and other shenanigans like that. The picture is usually followed by a selfie of him being beaten up by his best friend for being a menace or a screenshot of him being blocked on every social media when he’s away on a mission (because of course he has a secret stash of domestic pictures hidden in his phone, who wouldn’t?)

Ahh, you can talk about these two for ages, they are the funniest pair, like ever.

Midoriya giggles at your sudden outburst while you try your best to hide behind the sofa out of embarrassment.

“Aww, thank you!” The redhead smirks. “It’s always a pleasure to be adored by a beautiful lady like yourself.”

You don’t have time to really react to his sudden flirting because the air fills with tension for some weird reason; Midoriya stops smiling, black whip caresses your back and wraps around your body protectively. He looks furious and also does Bakugou, but his anger is pointed at you; if looks would kill, you would be dead by now.

“It’s a bit cold, isn’t it, Y/N? You should change into something warm before you catch a cold.” Midoriya smiles, but it’s more frightening than cute this time. Damn, if you would be a villain and he would look at you like that, you’d 100% piss yourself.

“I have no idea what the actual fuck is going on right now but I’m gonna sit down.” A purple haired, tired looking guy sighs and makes his way to the sofa like the time didn’t just freeze for a second. Honestly, you have no idea what’s going on either.

“Let me explain!” Chargebolt claps his hands happily. “Bakugou’s being a a possessive dick over his best friend, and Midoriya is the same with his roommate. Why? Don’t ask me.” He gives you a reassuring smile.

“This is why I’ll be single forever, Y/N. Don’t be like me.” The redhead sighs, also sitting down. Midoriya lets you go while mumbling ‘sorry’ but he doesn’t look sorry at all.

“What do you mean, Eijirou? Is Katsuki’s marvelous presence not enough for you to be happy? Aww, poor boy.” Pinky speaks up, clearly enjoying the drama. She looks even prettier in real life.

“Say another word, you pink bitch, and I’ll mount your stupid horny head on my wall.” Bakugou snaps, his face a lovely shade of red. Chargebolt blurts out a quiet ‘damn’ and hides behind the sofa, right behind the purple dude who just sighs at Kaminari’s shenanigans.

“Aww, is my face is so pretty you want to see it every day? That’s so cute, Bakubro!” Mina coos and that’s when shit hits the fan; you quietly leave the room to change as per Midoriya’s advice (what the fuck was that about? Yeah, you are wearing comfy shorts but so is he.) while Red Riot hardens between his two friends, acting like a shield to stop them from killing each other. After a few minutes, the yelling stops; apparently, their pizza order is more important than an impromptu mass murder.

It takes you a while before you have the guts to go back so you can properly meet Midoriya’s chaotic friends; you still have no idea what made the two friends so mad, but to be fair, Bakugou is known to blow up for no reason at all, so maybe you were just at the wrong place at the wrong time.

“Hey.” Midoriya’s green head pops in through the door. He looks a bit flushed and a little bit guilty. He’s absolutely adorable. “Can I come in?”

“I was just about to go out, but yeah.” You mumble, your voice strained from the stress. Deku closes the door and leans back to it; his face is contorted into a frown but he tries his best to give you a smile.

“I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to do that to you. I had no right to treat you that way.” The greenette is clearly beating himself up for his actions and it brakes your heart.

“It’s fine.”

“No, it’s not.” Midoriya jumps in. “Eijirou is a nice guy, he talks like that to everyone. Bakugou is a possessive asshole over all his friends, especially him. I was so excited for you to meet my closest friends yet I fucked it up.”

Oh no, not the teary eyes. You can’t handle the teary eyes right now.

“Midoriya…” you move closer to the slumped greenette, taking his hand into yours. He looks at you with the cutest lovelorn expression. “Stop looking at me like that. I really want to hug you tight when you do that.”

You really didn’t mean to say that. You really didn’t.

“Then hug me, Y/N.” Midoriya says, a new kind of emotion swirling in his beautiful eyes. Your body moves on its own as you embrace your favorite hero with such passion that Midoriya’s back hits the door with a loud bang from the force of it. You can hear his heart beating loud and fast when your face hits his chest as you squeeze the shit out of the poor guy. The hero’s hand ends up in your hair, slowly massaging your scalp while he takes a deep breath to calm his racing heart. Midoriya lets your hand go and pulls you even closer by the small of your back; your bodies clash with each other completely as Midoriya melts into your touch; his muscles feel amazing under your cheeks. You’ve never felt so content in your life.

Okay, this hug is way too passionate to be called “friendly”. You are about to pass out. He smells so amazing, like pine and sea salt with a hint of spice, masculine and earthy. The world stops for a second, Midoriya’s friends on the other side completely forgotten as the two of you embrace each other, your true feelings showing without you even saying them out loud.

This is when reality really hits you; you don’t just have a crush on this guy; you are absolutely fucking smitten with him already.

Ahh, you are so fucked.

“STOP MAKING OUT, YOU FUCKERS!” Bakugou ruins the moment with his yelling. When you two realize the situation you are in, you jump away from each other with a “sorry”, like two emotionally constipated teenagers.

“Maybe they are just having a fight.” A tired voice mumbles, probably the purple haired guy you don’t know yet.

“With their mouths, yeah.” Pinky giggles mischievously. If your face wasn’t red enough before, now it is.

“I mean, can you blame him? Y/N is cute as hell.” Motherfucking Red Riot comments and that’s when Midoriya opens the door with a flushed face.

“Can we start this all over?” Midoriya yelps. His friends try their best to not comment on their disheveled appearance for the sake of you and nod in unison. “This is Y/N, my FLATMATE. She takes care of the flat when I’m not around.”

“She takes care of more than that by the look of it…” Chargebolt whispers into Jirou’s ears, who slaps the guy on his head to shut him up. Jirou is a great friend. You love her. “You know Kacchan and Jirou already, then you have Kirishima Eijirou, but you also know that, Kaminari Denki, Ashido Mina, Shouto Todoroki who doesn’t speak too much but he’s one of my closest friends and Shinsou Hitoshi who you might remember from the sports festival. He works with Aizawa-sensei as an underground hero so his face isn’t well known but he’s amazing.”

“I still don’t know why am I here today” Shinsou mumbles, clearly hating the fact that he was forced to come over. He doesn’t look like a guy who enjoys being in a large group.

“You are here because you are important to us, and I can’t believe I need to have this conversation with you after all these years.” Kaminari sighs, looking at the purple haired hero with disappointment in his eyes. Shinsou looks back at him with a guilty expression, showing the yellow haired man with his shoulder in a silent sorry.

Wow, you ship them. So much.

Damn, you really need to stop reading gay fanfictions when Midoriya is not home.

“Now that we all said hi, it’s time to embarrass Midoriya!” Chargebolt speaks up energetically. “Which story should we start with?”

“Guys, please!” Midoriya pulls you to the sofa while hiding his face with his other hand in embarrassment. You sit down next to each other while the group fights over which story should they tell.

“His first almost-kiss!”

“What about the time when Katsuki saw him doing nasty things in his room?”

“That’s not an embarrassing story, I literally thought he’s not into that shit until that moment. I was proud of him.”

“KACCHAN!” Midoriya hides his face in your neck in embarrassment and you try your best to not explode. Jirou looks at you with pity in her eyes.

“What about his secret tattoo?” Kirishima chimes in, and you perk up; you really like tattoos and you always wanted one. “Ahh, she likes that! So it happened on Katsuki’s 21st birthday…”

“Oh my god…” Deku mumbles, still hiding in your neck. “You might not like me that much after tonight, Y/N” he sighs, making your whole body tingle with his hot breath caressing your sensitive skin.

“I’m a loyal fan.” You deadpan. It’s really hard to concentrate on the story right now to be honest.

“So we were really drunk when Tetsutetsu and his gang came over and challenged us to a fight. The loser gang had to get a tattoo. The fuckers knew we are too drunk to realize they are all sober so they beat us to pulp. We woke up the next day with new tattoos. On our… bottoms.” Kirishima looks down with a flushed face. “I have a rock, you wanna see?” Kirishima excitedly jumps up, ready to show you his sick tattoo, but Bakugou is having non of it.

“Eijirou, if you pull your pants down in front of everyone I’ll absolutely kick you out of my house.” He whispers threateningly, his hands ready to block the view. Kirishima sits down with a sad puppy look.

“It’s not that far down!” The redhead whines, but gives up anyway. “Please, don’t kick me out, I fucking love the sauna and I also own the half of the flat.”

So Red Riot and Dynamight bought a flat together. Interesting.

Would it be weird to write a fanfiction about that, now that you know them in person? Probably.

The life of a hero fangirl is really hard sometimes.

“I have a Pikachu!” Kaminari chimes in proudly.

“I have a Hypno. Thanks for that, Denki…” Shinsou mumbles, clearly hating his teen self for being so stupid.

“I wanted us to match!”

“You have no reason to moan, Hitoshi, I have a fucking pinky tattooed on my bum.” Mina admits shamefully. The whole team bursts out laughing at the old memory.

“I have a picture of soba noodles. That’s my favorite food.” Todoroki declares with a straight face, like it’s a pretty normal thing to have your favorite food tattooed on your bottom.

“I have headphones! Like the ones I use when I fight the bad guys!”

“Mine was a small explosion but it was too boring so I made it into a massive one.” Bakugou pulls his shirt up, showing off a massive tattoo on his side. Wow, it’s really hot in here. Like, really really hot. Damn. You can’t believe no one ever realized that Dynamight has so many tattoos hidden under his shirt. The other side of him is also full of ink, but you can’t see enough of it to be able to decipher what it is exactly.

“Why can you show yours but I can’t show mine? It’s not fair!” Kirishima grumbles. “You know what, you can’t tell me what to do.” Kirishima slowly unbuttons his shirt and shows you a massive black and red dragon on his chest. So this is why the hero changed his costume into something less revealing. He’s hiding a fucking beast under it.

You might die tonight.

There is no way your heart can take more of this shit.

Where is the water? You are kind of thirsty. Respectfully… thirsty. For water.

Yeah.

“Can you guys stop stripping? I have a broccoli by the way. Not like anyone cares at this point.” Midoriya pouts and it’s the sweetest thing you’ve ever seen.

“Midoriya, that’s so fucking cute!” You yell, the two stripping heroes long forgotten. “Colored or black and white?”

Midoriya perks up now that your attention is back on him, a shy smile decorating his face.

“Colored. It matches my hair. I know most of us are ashamed of these tattoos but I really like it. It reminds me of my friends. It reminds me that I’m not alone anymore.” Midoriya smiles into the distance. “It reminds me that whatever happens, there will be someone there to catch me when I fall. We are a family.”

“That was so manly, goddamn it!” Kirishima cries, tears falling down his cheeks.

“What the fuck, shitty Deku, this was supposed to be fun, now I want to throw myself off a cliff!” Katsuki rolls his eyes aggressively but he can’t hide the fond smile when he looks at his crying flatmate.

“No worries buddy, Midoriya will be there to catch you!” Mina giggles, clearly having the time of her life as she looks at the three boys.

“Now you ruined it.” Midoriya mumbles, unimpressed. You really tried not to laugh, but seeing all these people taking the piss out of each other made you laugh out loud. You’ll never forget tonight, that’s for sure. These people are truly amazing.

After a few more minutes of banter the pizza arrives; Midoriya puts in a DVD with some old interviews and they all laugh at their awkward faces on the screen. The whole situation is so intimate, everyone is so close to the other, limbs and arms intertwined with each other while fond smiles are being exchanged when someone new appears on the screen. The guys tell you about Ingenium’s matching bum tattoo - he has a pair of glasses -, and about the time Jirou fell on the stage; you hear a bunch of stories the public have never heard about while Midoriya snuggles closer and closer as the night turns into an early morning… your heart swells from the happiness to be able to be a part of something so private without feeling like an intruder. The group welcomes you with open arms, letting you in without a question.

“Can I tell the story about Katsuki almost exploding his dick of when he tried to…” Denki mumbles half asleep, but Katsuki gives him a massive slap before he can finish the sentence.

“Midoriya had a girlfriend in high school for a few weeks but he was so wind up about their first kiss he threw up right in front of the poor girl. We haven’t seen her since. She changed schools.” Another half asleep mumble, this time from Kirishima, who somehow ended up sprawled out on everyone’s laps on the sofa.

“I think Denki’s bisexual awakening is a good story to tell. It was the first time I actually laughed in front of everyone. He’s helpless.” Todoroki chimes in, probably the only one still fully awake from the team.

“Says the guy who wanted to call an ambulance on a girl who blushed and didn’t even realize she was trying to ask him out.”

You have no idea who’s talking anymore. It’s almost 5 AM and Midoriya is so warm next to you, you can’t help but hide your face in his arms. You can feel Midoriya’s hands stroking your hair, the affectionate caress slowly lulling you to sleep.

“I’ll put Y/N to bed, you guys get comfortable. You know where to find the spare bedding, yeah?” Midoriya takes you in his arms, moving you towards your bedroom. The group mumbles incoherently, clearly ready to sleep as the hero puts you down on the soft sheets, tugging you in like a child. Something soft touches your forehead but you are too sleepy to react; it feels nice and warm like the sun on a breezy afternoon.

“Sleep tight, sweet pea. See you tomorrow.”Someone whispers. The nickname makes you smile subconsciously. “I don’t want to leave, to be honest. I always want to be around you, I wonder why.” You can still hear the mumbles but you can’t understand the words anymore; it’s too late and you are too tired to keep listening.

You dream about green curls and soft touches, about the stars and the moon, so close yet so far away, you dream about touching the sky, about reaching out for the brightest star only to fall back down on Earth, but you stand up and try again, until your hand reaches the one with the scars, until your fingers intertwine and you never let go again.

Such a drastic change compared to the warmth of the day… I’ve never felt cold before but I probably didn’t even know how the warmth felt like on my skin until I’ve met you. Now that I know, I’m craving it. So much. You are like the sun, Y/N. Please, never change; and stay by my side for a bit longer, until I’m strong enough to let you go. I hope you’re sleeping. It will be really awkward if you’re not.” Midoriya giggles and leaves the room, closing the door behind him.

Midoriya Izuku really needs to get a grip, he thinks as he makes his way to his own bedroom, already hating the cold feeling of his sheets.

- I also feel like I owe you guys an explanation for the iffy jealousy scene: in Midoriya’s case it was 50% jealousy and 50% protectiveness. He doesn’t really understand his own feelings yet and he couldn’t really handle that situation very well. He’ll get much better at it in the future. Midoriya was never a possessive person but Y/N told him he can be a bit selfish sometimes and he listened. He’s growing as a person it’s just really hard to tell. He’s such a weirdo I love him 🥦

MHA #406 review lite

Yeah, normally I do a “leak reactions” post but the timing for that didn’t work out, so instead I’m looking at the full chapter! (Reminder for newcomers: I don’t look at leaked images or fanscans until after the official chapter is out.)

Aoyama and Hagakure are adorable — love how he puts his jacket around her and is using his bare hands to direct his navel laser. Now update me on how Fatgum is doing!!!

We finally get our first view of Gashly and, I believe, our first Ryukyu sighting during this battle!

Tsukauchi is falling apart more and more each chapter. Horikoshi is delighting in torturing this man.

Nagant’s lying down on a rooftop. All Might and Edgeshot are lying down on rooftops. Is the Rooftop Trio on a rooftop?? Only time will tell.

Speaking of not looking so good, Izuku is huffing and has some really dark rings around his eyes. He dramatically says “it ends here, go beyond” and…we cut to Bakugo and AFO just as Izuku looks like his middle finger is about to Gearshift + Air Force flick Tomura into next year.

Love how Bakugo calls AFO a filler character as AFO calls him a pointless pebble. I especially like how the English translation uses the “pebble in my path” phrase that Bakugo previously used to describe Izuku. (I haven’t checked yet to see if the Spanish versions use the same lines.)

I know there’s a lot of discourse surrounding Bakugo’s power up, but it reads to me like it’s not a new “power” so to speak. Rather he’s using his honed instinct and insight into his own body (remember how he’s always coming up with new ultimate moves on his own?). But, instead of focusing on the outcome (e.g., victory, or being the strongest) he’s focusing on the process. Much like All Might recapturing his own smile from the joy of helping others, Katsuki is finding joy in the simple act of pushing himself and his quirk. That’s something AFO doesn’t understand. As much as he wants to live forever and mess around with quirks forever, he really only enjoys simple quirks that combine well with others. AFO doesn’t like the process of exploring his quirks or honing his skills with them.

Seeing Mitsuki and Masaru cry is giving me FEELINGS. Horikoshi didn’t have to include them but he did and oof.

AFO talks about “the hatred I harbor” for Second, whose name is revealed as Kudo. Kudo is, apparently, the one that AFO loathes “above all others” — even All Might, apparently?? — because it Kudo hadn’t reached out his hand to Yoichi, then OFA wouldn’t have been created. This is AFO’s side of the story we heard from Yoichi way back in Chapter 310: “The moment you [Kudo] reached out your hand to me was when One for All was truly born.” After Chapter 369 came out last year, I wrote some meta about why AFO might be crying while he force chokes Kudo, and ventured a guess that AFO harbored a deep hatred for Kudo, either because he created OFA or possibly because they knew each other. I don’t think there’s anything in 406 that changes those posts significantly, though it does seem that AFO’s hatred for Kudo lies primarily in the fact that he reached out his hand to Yoichi….though AFO still knew an awful lot about Gearshift and how it was “supposed” to work…

Ugh, I really, really want the OFA/AFO backstory now. Like if it’s 3-8 chapters of backstory I’m ok with that as a breather/precursor for Izuku vs Tomura (see bullet #5 above re Izuku about to exhaust his body from overuse of Gearshift).

Finally…I LOVE KATSUKI CALLING HIMSELF “KACCHAN��!!!! Izuku reclaimed “Deku” a long time ago with help from Ochako, and now Katsuki is embracing “Kacchan” with help from Izuku. Yes, Bakugo’s hero name is still Great Explosion Murder God Dynamight, and that name was fully approved by All Might last chapter. In 406, however, Katsuki is referring to himself as a civilian and using the name “Kacchan” with no fear whatsoever of sounding diminutive in front of AFO (or the cameras) …and it’s absolutely beautiful and I love it. He’s not posturing one bit, he’s free to be fully himself, and even his parents can tell. He gleefully taunts AFO about being senile despite AFO looking like a child, which is just the perfect amount of teen boy prickishness that this fight needs.

Do you think there's going to be a big twist coming up in bnha?

Or maybe a twist big villain or something?

Because all the other villains have been taken out of commission and there's still doesn't seem to be any way for deku to save/defeat shigaraki. (Nothing that we've been shown so far.)

Because shigaraki does seem to be more powerful than deku and even if they do FINALLY start talking, deku seems to be in the same place 'ideal wise' as he was several arcs ago.

Like what could deku say that could prove his point (not that he really has much of a point, as he still hasn't really even thought about trying to fix hero society's giant flaws) to shigaraki now?

Even more, what could deku do, since he's still focusing on the crying child inside shigaraki and not what made the crying child?

Well my answers about the same as it's been for a long while now; I agree Deku's not in the right headspace to save Tomura and probably can't cram the character development to get into that headspace in at the last second before/during his metaphorical final exam here. He still needs to further develop his own views on things if he wants to challenge & change Tomura's views. Maybe Deku could convince him the entire country's not a lost cause and he shouldn't destroy it within a few chapters, but there's a massive gap between that and actually saving him the way we usually mean. The fact the other villains have not really been saved either so far doesn't really help my opinion of Deku's chances.

So yes I do expect a big twist and, same as ever, I expect that twist to be that this is not the final arc and we'll get a My Hero part 2 after Hori takes a long break. It's basically the only real meaningful twist I can think of at this point that'd resolve this time conflict without rushing resolutions that should not be rushed. Especially with Kurogiri (& maybe Machia if he’s alive) still left as dangling plot threads that could potentially recover the villains.

(Though I would not hate it, half just because I think it'd be funny, if the HC president came out of nowhere to reveal she survived clone-stro and is taking over as big bad so that Deku...idk, reevaluates the system he's protecting or something.)

Although while we're discussing where Deku is, ideal-wise, I have been meaning to go over my current criticisms with him for a bit; which to discuss below a cut:

Is mainly that he’s kind of just All Might again. He's like All Might in nearly every way that counts and his only aspiration is to be All Might 2 and save everyone he can like All Might did. I mean I’ve seen people sometimes say "no Deku’s totally different and better than All Might in this or that way" but those ways often seem to assume All Might was a lot worse, less kind, and more independent than he really was.

(And also that Deku is less independent than he really is; just compare this arc to Kamino, where they both work alongside their hero peers...until they feel the need to take on the final boss 1v1.)

Like, as someone critical of the hero society All Might built, I’ll bet I often come off as thinking All Might wasn’t a good hero. But that’s not so, I think All Might did the best he could have done, and moreover the best anyone could’ve done trying to fix things the way he did. I doubt anyone could've hero'd much better than him. If Deku were sent back in time to replace All Might, the best he could’ve done is about what All Might did. And if All Might faced all the hurdles Deku has, at the same power level for each, I believe he’d have managed at least as happy an ending to every arc.

So the great hurdle of this all is: All Might was the greatest hero he could possibly have been...but he also wasn't enough. The various ways the League were driven to villainy to form the group at all is proof of that. And that's why a rehash sequel to him won't be enough either. I understand why Deku and everyone else admires All Might, but he can't be doing the same things expecting much better results. If he does, then even if he does save Tomura here in the same way the rest of the League has been "saved" so far (a tall order already when Tomura's made clear he doesn't want another All Might), I fear he'll just face another League led by another Tomura in the future; another Tenko who was failed by Deku this time.

Ochako is Different

(Current Chapter Spoilers) It’s a little early to make this but I had to.

‘If Toga still wants to talk to her, she’s willing to give her her own blood for the rest of her life.’

“I want to talk about love with you, himiko-chan!”

‘She won’t support everything she does from now on’

‘The world isn’t ideal (comfortable?) for people like her’

It’s almost exactly what I wanted, but it’s still totally perfect.

This Chapter is great for Toga and Ochako, and perfect for Ochako’s development.

In fact I’d say that this puts Ochako over the top of what’s been shown to be heroic in bnha.

Because while Ochako doesn’t really side with Toga fully, which is understandable from her point of view but she does pretty much say that Toga won’t be killed or locked up to rot because of the promise she makes to her.

This implies a long term plan/commitment and freedom, the first part obviously stated that neither Ochako or Toga herself want her death and the second part because there’s no way Toga would ever accept such a thing from inside a cage.

“Living Free” being an essential part of Toga’s character that wouldn’t just be ignored and doesn’t seem to be on Ochako’s viewpoint, with her saying:  ‘She won’t support everything she does from now on’

“From now on” implying Toga will have the freedom to choose.

This answer from a hero to a villain might really change things, or at least have the intent to change beginning here.

Ochako’s answer feels big enough for that, not only in her direct relationship with Toga but also on a much wider scale in her clearly stating that: The World isn’t ideal/comfortable for people like Toga.

This along with everything else she said makes her the best Hero in this series.

Even out of the Core Three Heroes.

Shoto Todoroki, a good, focused Hero, succeeding in everything he set out to do in bnha’s story, and also succeeded in becoming exactly the type of hero he wanted to be.

Be a Hero that puts others at ease? Nailed it.

Be like his friends who get mad and shed tears for others? Got it.

Protect his family and others? Even Dabi in a way? Total Victory.

A Perfect Score for Shoto, also his family, and all the innocent people that he saved.

But that’s it.

Shoto still hasn’t taken any kind of wider view on Dabi/Endeavor/his family or hero society, even though he’s had more than enough time to think about it.

He never came to the larger realization that: “Hmm, actually the fact that Endeavor was able to buy Mom like a broodmare, consult with doctors plainly about his intentions regarding his children, have one of them literally die, another be clearly scarred and his wife sent to a mental institution and yet despite all that…no one (Hero/Government/Civilian) says or does shit…that might be a problem too?”

Shoto is definitely a Hero; he’s just not quite seeing the big picture when he really needs to.

Deku on the other hand isn’t even close.

Because while he does inspire others, he has yet to actually help them himself.

Gentle criminal, Lady Nagant and Overhaul are all ‘Villains’ that Deku has interacted with and changed but, when talking about direct actions, he never helped any of them or even acknowledged their negative points about hero society other than giving a single platitude.

Gentle Criminal had heroic aspirations from the start, despite being hurt multiple times by hero society; he still chose to do the right thing.

Whether or not that really works out for him in the end is yet to be seen but he still did it, and on his own.

Deku never tried to help Gentle or even find out what happened to him or La Brava after their fight, despite emphasizing with him and their struggles.

Nagant was in some way, like Gentle, inspired by Deku, just in her case it was taken to a somewhat unbelievable degree.

“Extend a helping Hand” is not an answer to the fact that hero society was assassinating innocent people who threatened the status quo.

But Nagant is fighting on the hero side now so I guess it was answer enough for her.

But from a wider story perspective Deku didn’t address anything.

Overhaul is one of the darkest villains in the series, with what he did to Eri.

But Deku still made him a promise, to bring Overhaul to his ‘Father’ (figure) if he was willing to regret what he did.

He didn’t.

I mean, if we had jumped right into the next war in only a few moments after this point then I would understand Deku not having enough time to make good on his word but there was a lot of down time in-between.

Was Deku actually serious about the no-armed cripple Overhaul having to regret his actions before he was taken to see his comatose Father?

That’s kind of messed up when you really think about it.

Was Deku planning on doing it anyway, just at some undetermined point in the Future?

We don’t know, it was never brought up again.

It makes anything that Deku’s going to say to Shigaraki seem a bit Hollow because there’s no past foundation to hold up his word to, on a personal or societal level.

Vague promises on top of other promises that haven’t been fulfilled is not a good look for a Hero.

While it is true that this may change later, it may lack impact and believable commitment, coming in a bit late on Shoto’s part and with Deku’s loyalty to hero society at odds with everything Shigaraki is.

But Ochako isn’t like that.

Ochako

She recognized that there was a problem (though eventually) after seeing clear signs of it and looked at everything involved.

Toga’s Quirk and her tears, how she felt about love and the world around her.

Also with her experience in dealing with the “innocent” people at UA high and how they treated Deku.

Have to believe that too had an effect on her decision and reasoning to try to understand Toga, in how she was made a villain currently.

She may not really understand Toga in everything, but Ochako is still saying all the right things, addressing what she knows about Toga and how society has treated her.

No other hero has done that yet and followed through.

Because Ochako didn’t just say: “You have a point, but you know morality.” Then try to punch Toga in the face or overpower her into submission.

She said: “You have a point, but you know morality, so I will personally help you in the way you need.”

Immediately trying to do just that and saying she’ll continue to in the future.

‘If Toga still wants to talk to her, she’s willing to give her her (Ochako’s) own blood for the rest of her life.’

That’s a Hero. And what a real Hero would do.

It really was just that simple of someone offering her Blood, that specific someone showing that they cared and telling Toga that she wasn’t a monster or a deviant.

And Toga accepting Ochako’s feelings would make sense as this is everything she ever wanted-

BUT-

The only hang up is how Ochako would then deal with Hero Society after this, because they are definitely not going to be on board with her choice, even though it’s part of the only option/path forward that could save their world.

And with the inherent flaws/corruption in the hero system and the Quirk Singularity, Ochako’s choice is undeniably the start of the only path that could save bnha’s world.

So yeah Ochako is actually doing Amazing so far.

BNHA 386 - first thoughts

OK, so after seeing pikahlua's translations some thoughts:

Dabi is doing this on purpose - he's turning himself into a suicide bomb - knowing full well that there are evacuation pods in the area. Does he know his family is stuck there?

It's a perfect plan - Endeavor can't do a damn thing with his quirk, only aggravate the situation.

The evacuees are getting to the surface, so maybe Touya will see Rei, Natsuo and Fuyumi, maybe they'll try to talk him down.

I think though even if they get through to him, he won't be able to stop the explosion by himself - risking a second Sekoto peak scenario

This time Endeavor will be there with him - maybe they'll use Inasa to get in the air

That's where Shouto comes in - he could literally hug it out with Touya and absorb the explosion with his Phosphor like when he took that Jet Burn to the face. It could actually charge Shouto with a huge amount of energy that he could then release maybe in combat if he can get a warp to Deku. That would be poetic. Almost a combo.

Shouto wanting to fight AFO makes sense tbh. He didn't know how Gunga was doing, but as far as he knew, there was nobody else. He's a good friend and wants to do right by Midoriya and do his part.

I get Iida's feelings, but boy, in that moment that was not what Shouto needed to hear. Like, he's already barely keeping it together.

Good for All Might's intervention though. I'm so so so happy that he talked to Shouto. It felt nice and warm and personal. Reminding him that being torn in different directions will make him lose and telling him to be faithful to what he decided in his heart and to himself. (I feel like all these things also apply to All Might himself).

It's the first time I think All Might called Dabi "Touya". Making that switch, I think deliberately - it's family. "Because you are you" or "for the sake of being yourself" - Endeavor would choose to fight AFO, but Shouto will prioritize his family in the end.

Iida giving all his gear to Shouto to protect him - he's too precious. He's not flying as far as i can tell, but parkour running the sides of buildings. Looks really cool.

Also, Gunga - reunion with Remedial kids and Inasa. The Heroes Rising Chimera team will be assembled. We are having half the class there at this point. Aizawa, hurry with ShiraGiri, all these guys will need a warp.

Stain - now that you stared at the boys and did nothing, where are you heading with your Green Goblin glider? Perhaps to All Might? Stain getting a sneak attack on AFO would be hilarious. I still don't get it, why meatball guy didn't just turn him into a meat sausage for a while.

Hawks is still sending reports from Gunga after everything? Him staying focused till the end, vs the visual of just holding Tokoyami...

So All Might is counting on the pettiness of AFO. I mean it makes sense - he knows the guy the best.

I always knew All Might would fling his backpack in the endgame. It's cool that he has a Mecha suit in it. (curtesy of David Shield, I presume). I honestly vastly prefer this to the Eri rewind theories. All Might answering Deku's question from Chapter 1 has been long built and I'm really glad we will get to it.

I don't get why people are mad that All Might is trying to do something, when last chapter they praised Mineta for yelling at AFO. Everyone is doing what they can with the power they have. Yeah, sure they know they are outclassed. They are still gonna do their best. That's kind of the point of them being heroes. Obsession with powerscaling makes people lose sight of this.

I don't know if All Might will survive (I think he will), but I think he WILL incorporate in the vestige world giving poor Izuku a heart attack.

Also, wouldn't it be cool if full circle to Chapter 1 a certain someone saved All Might?

Oh, that demonic grin in the end. Toshinori went full Bakugou there. Which is really really cool. I love it. Smile at the unscalable wall.

y’know i alluded to this in spark plug and i will definitely write more abt it in the future but i wholeheartedly believe bakugou is not the “i have feelings for this person and i don’t understand it so i’m going to not think about it” type??

like. okay. boy has been focused on being a hero for his entire life. his main emotional outlet is anger. and it’s very true that he struggles to process things. but at his first battle training at UA, he had the self-awareness to look at everyone else and realize that he wasn’t going to be good enough to take some of them. he is reflective, even if it doesn’t seem like it.

so when he starts getting closer with kirishima, and when he faces uraraka during the sports festival, and when he and deku finally start working their shit out after kamino, he recognizes that things are different and he knows that there’s some feeling there that he’s not familiar with having.

and that doesn’t bring avoidance, because he’s katsuki bakugou ffs. in his mind, there’s this whole “what kind of man would i be if i ran from this instead of facing it head-on?” going on.

that doesn’t mean he’s going to walk right up to them and be like “i’m in love with you and i want you to like me too” because that’s not his style. but it does mean that he’s going to focus more on what these feelings mean, and if it’s something he can allow himself to have. (not in a sexuality way, but in a “can i have this while still fighting to be number one” kind of way. and if the answer is no, if they’re too much of a distraction, he’ll shove it aside faster than he can say all might.)

i think for some people (kirishima) he does make the first move. they’re equals, they’ve been equals since they met, and he knows that if kirishima doesn’t feel the same way, he’ll find out now and they can be done with it.

but for others (midoriya, uraraka, people he thinks perceive him as unlovable) he doesn’t address it with them. he’ll think about it himself and wonder what it would be like, but he’s not going to make the first move. (and in the case of uraraka, i personally like to think that she flat out tells him he’s in love with deku, and he gets pissed off because yeah, he knows, but he’s also in love with her and it’s confusing and frustrating.)

(and then there’s people like todoroki. and todoroki is fucking clueless. and bakugou hates him for it. so he makes the first move there, too, and todoroki has a whole Moment. i’ll be writing that later.)

For a second chance isn't worth losing you AU:

Given that he's never left the vault, how much exposure does Izuku have to the outside world? Obviously he's had freedom up until he was four, but I wonder how much Izuku remembers from then? He probably questions what was actually real and what his mind has made up after so much time in isolation.

Given how long it's been, will he recognize Katsuki? I think he definitely remembers him, but it's been so long that he doesn't really remember his face or name.

I do think he remembers the name "Kacchan," though. It'll probably be a few panicked moments in their meeting before he connects the dots between Bakugou Katsuki and his childhood friend

Is Katsuki nice to Izuku in this AU? I'm imagining him and Todoroki forming the Izuku protection squad after they break him out. Some Deku-squad members might be able to join if they ask nicely

Did Izuku receive an education at all, or is he mostly illiterate? (aside from a few basic phrases Inko taught him) On one hand I don't think AfO would neglect that, but on the other, he's an A-hole and might think keeping him illiterate would help prevent successful escape attempts in case of contact from the outside.

He used to leave the vault before he became too rebellious but it has been about three years since he was allowed out. He knows bits and pieces of the outside world through books and movies Afo allows in the vault. But not really anything else.

Everything else is blurry like an old dream. Some parts are definitely more clear than others but that's probably because he focuses on those memories more than others. Cause ya know trauma.

Izuku definitely remembers Kacchan but like everything else it's a little blurry and it takes a while to connect Katsuki to Kacchan. And they are still friends in this au, Katsuki is friendlier to Izuku, partly because of guilt and also because he genuinely missed him.

Bakugou and Todoroki for sure make a Izuku Protection Squad and if anyone wants to join they have to go through them!

Izuku can read and is highly educated. Afo would not stand for him remaining uneducated because what "good" father would? It's mostly to boost Afo's ego.

Summer vacation was almost over, not like it was much of a vacation for the heroes in training. Sure they didn't take their usual classes but they were still subjected to pretty tough hero training. Seeing as the new school year was going to start soon, Todoroki couldn't help but feel a bit stressed. He knew it would only get harder from here, and his family drama definitely wasn't helping.

One day he had been invited over to the Midoriya household. Izuku and Shoto were both seated in the living room, discussing very serious school related stuff.

"Todoroki look at the new All Might pens I got!" said the greennette all excitedly, bringing them up closed to the bicolored haired male's face.

"They look nice" he replied with his usual stoic expression, but Deku managed to catch a glimpse of a slight frown in his face.

"Hey, is something wrong?".

"It's nothing..." Todoroki tried to avert the other's gaze, but it was hard to ignore those big, green puppy eyes. He let out a sigh "I guess I'm just a bit stressed with the upcoming school year".

"I see..." Izuku didn't like seeing his friend all worried, he had to do something to help him out. And that's when he was struck with a mischevious idea. A teasy smirk made it's way onto his face as he called out to the other in a playful tone "Oh Todorokiiiii~".

"Yes- GAH!" Todoriki let out a startled gasp when Midoriya tackled him across the couch. While taking a seat on top of his waist. "Midoriya what are you doing??".

"Oh nothing, I'm just gonna tickle the stress out of you~!" the greennette lost no time softly wiggling his fingers along Todoroki's neck, watching in adoration as the taller one tried scrunching up his shoulders.

"M-Midoriya nohoho!" Todoroki giggled softly as he squeezed his eyes shut, his nose lightly scrunched up as the cutest smile adorned his lips.

"Midoriya yes!" Deku teased as he playfully tapped his fingers along his jawline, earning the cutest snickers from the other.

"Ehehehe! I-ihit tickles!!" Shoto pointed out the obvious. It was the only thing that came to his mind, how much it tickled and how fun it was.

"Aww does it now? Good!" Izuku then moved his hands down to Todoroki's sides, softly scribbling up and down them.

"Gah! Hahahahahaha!" poor Shoto let out a strangled gasp at the sudden change in tickle spots before bursting out into uncontrollable giggles. He couldn't help but bring his elbows down his sides, it tickled that much.

"I wonder which side is more ticklish. This one? Or maybe this one~?" the greennette teased as he focused his tickles on his left side, while then switching to the right side. It left Todoroki in stitches.

"Neheheither! Ahahahahahaha!" he squirmed around from side to side. As he threw his head back in laughter, his bright smile on full display.

Deke couldn't help but giggle at his response. "Hmm...how about here~?" He switched spots once again and softly scribbled the bicolored haired male's tummy.

"Pffft! AhaHahaHA! M-Midoriya nahaHAha!" Todoroki wasn't sure whether to protect the sensitive spot or die of embarrassment, he went with the latter. Opting to clutch his hands across his chest while he kicked his legs out all cutely.

"Ahh coochi coochi coo! Who's a ticklish 'lil hero? You are~!".

"S-SHUHUHUSH!" Shoto let out an embarrassing high pitched squeal at the tease, his face fully flushed at this point. With whatever strength he had left he managed to sit upright and cover Deku's mouth. But the freckled guy took the opportunity to shove his hands under Todoroki's arms.

"W-WAHAHAIT! GYAHAHAHAHA!" Todoroki quickly crumbled down, clamping his arms down as best as he could. His face was so red his scar was barely visible. Tears had started to prick the corners of his eyes as his bubbly laughter filled up the room.

Seeing how he started to hiccup through his laughter, Deku slowed his fingers down to a stop. Getting off of his friend in the process to give him some room to breath. "Sorry if I took it a bit too far... How are you feeling now?".

Shoto tried his best to speak through hiccupy giggles, it was pretty funny to witness "M-muhuhuch *hic* behehetter *hic*!".

Izuku instantly smiled down at him as he plafully patted his tummy "Glad I could be of help then!".

Todoroki couldn't help but smile in return. It looked so genuine and overall he looked much more relaxed and at ease compared to earlier. There might be a tough road up ahead, but atleast he didn't have to deal with it alone.

Considering how he likes to take lots of notes, I hc Deku to really like collecting stationary (especially if it's All Might themed). Although if it's All Might themed he might refrain from using it as to not ruin it (like me LMAO)

Gonna talk about this guy for a second because I genuinely feel like no one is talking about this/ not enough coverage about the Deku headcannons made in the bnha/mha fandom.

I'm gonna spit it out now, I think Bakudeku is the most overrated ship I have ever seen, in any fandom, period. I also think that Deku is one of the most shit on characters by a fandom that doesn't really deserve to get shit on. There is so much I can say about this, but for the purposes of you, the reader, I'll try and keep this as short as I can.

ALSO GONNA SAY THIS NOW, MY OPINION IS NOT GOSPEL. SHIP BAKUDEKU IF YOU WANT, MAKE DEKU SAD EMO BOY IF YOU WISH, THATS YOUR CHOICE. IM JUST NOT GONNA WATCH YOUR CONTENT AND IM SIMPLY SAYING THE REASONS WHY.

OFFICIAL CONTENT WARNING FROM HERE : I will be talking about alot of sensitive topics in this post but the main ones I will be covering are Underage Sex, SH, depression etc. Also there will be slight spoilers for the show ( I haven't watched it so don't expect anything massive )

So let's talk about Boku no Hero Academia/ My Hero Academia. Alot of you know about this show already, but for those who don't :

Boku No Hero Academia/ My Hero Academia is an Manga Series turned anime, originally illustrated and written by Kōhei Horikoshi. In the series, we follow a Teenager called Izuku Midoriya (Deku for short) , who is a "quirkless" boy lives in a world of "quirks" (superpowers). He still dreams of being a superhero, and he gets scouted by his hero, "All might", who bestows his powers onto him after seeing his potential, and also helps to get him into a prestigious high school for superheroes in training.

Now in this anime, there is another boy called Katsuki Bakugo, who has bullied Deku ever since he was a child. When they were in middle school, the bullying did not stop, and now in high school they continued to be rivals/ Deku being bullied by Bakugo.

Now there is absolutely nothing wrong with headcannons/au's, in fact, I think headcannons/au's are one of the building blocks of fandom. But there is a certain point in which these Au's can cross a line, and unfortunately in the Bnha/Mha fandom, that line is crossed a fair bit.

Let's start with bakudeku, the thing that sparked this whole post in the first place. At the start of this post I said it was overrated, and I stand by that. The amount of hype I see of these two getting in a relationship fills me with absolute agony. THESE TWO AREN'T COMPATIBLE IN THE SLIGHTEST. Yes, Katsuki may have character development that I have not seen, since I do not watch this show ( the reasons why can get a post on its own ), but from the clips I've seen of Katsuki, he just seems like a huge jackass towards EVERYONE. The only people he does respect are adults who can beat the shit out of him, and that's really sad. Now let's get to Izuku. I'm not very sure but personally I don't think he will be shipped with anyone, at least not for the time being. Izuku seems focused on becoming a hero at the moment in the series, so I'd highly doubt that he will be getting into a relationship.

Now lets get into another reason for why Izuku is shit upon. The amount of Batsuit insane stuff that the Bnha/Mha fandom has produced. This segment doesn't just run for deku either, this can be for arguably every character in the show (besides grape guy everyone agrees he is a dick) Fanfiction is in my opinion, the core part of a thriving fandom, alongside Fanart and Headcannons, but the amount of fanfiction that has Izuku as a cat maid for todoroki or some shit along the lines of that IS INSANE. A bunch of these characters aren't aged up either, which makes it even more fucking gross. Like youre writing 2 teenagers fucking each other in their rooms which they still have like stuff up from when they were 10 or some shit. I do know about Japan's fucked up sex culture quite a bit, and how the age of consent is lowered there, but this is still a huge problem regardless.

Let's stop with the CP, and now go onto depressed Deku. I also see in the Bnha/Mha fandom, that there is a lot of content about Deku being depressed or like not mentally ok. In alot of these headcannons, there's usually an event where a character will find Deku's arms with giant slits on them, or they will find blood on Deku's clothes, and Deku will try and deny that he is depressed, or go into a massive breakdown. These headcannons usually involve Deku going to a mental institution to seek help, and along the way fall in love with a character ( I lied there's more ship content ) . My personal opinion, these are disgusting headcannons. Yet again, this guy is still in his teens, and you're putting him into crazy scenarios not many teens have.

The last point I have to make is the plague that this character made upon fandom. From Gacha, to Ao3 to Tumblr, the shittyfied Deku has taken over fandom spaces like these. The amount of gacha content surrounding Deku (usually in a relationship with a character) is fucking insane. For every 20 videos you can find on YouTube of Bnha/Mha, at least 15 will be bakudeku. There's not much normal content anymore on the fandom, because the shitty deku has taken over, and I find that really sad.

It's a genuine shame that Deku has been tested like this, because he seems like suck a great character for this anime, but the fandom has just betrayed him. It's saddening seeing the showrunners get harassed for not shipping Deku with anyone, rather then actually critiquing things wrong with the show ( like directing, writing, comedy etc ). Idk man, this whole thing just makes me really sad.

Aizawa is a pure blooded wizard and the head of slytherin house, he teaches potions at Hogwarts and despite his sturdy look he wants nothing but the best for his students which is why he does not pick favorites. Shota is very quick to the point with his instructions as he usually goes to sleep right after finishing it but do not fool yourself as he is always making sure his students are safe and he would put his life on the line for them at any given moment. Making him a very selfless man, most at first being scared away by his rough appearance. Aizawa was very good friends with the hufflepuff shirakumo. A gryffindor Yamada and ravenclaw Nemuri. As they were good friends but also represented the four Hogwarts houses together. They had a lot of expectations which aizawa struggled with despite having the most potential among them. His patronus is a lynx. Those with the lynx patronus work best alone. They usually strike first and strike deadly.

Katsuki Bakugou

Katsuki bakugou is born in a pureblood family, and from a very early age he showed signs of great ambition and talent and he was smart enough to recognize it, becoming quite cocky in the process. Bullying deku for not possessing magical abilities, yet this behavior was short-lived due to deku eventually outbursting with an obscuri almost ending bakugou's life. And he had to watch as his hero Toshinori Yagi took him in as his student, Midoriya who had always been a failure was living his dream but he couldn’t afford to sulk about it focusing a lot on preparing himself to go to hogwarts. He stopped tormenting deku, not taking a liking to him either; he did keep him around as a way to apologise because he knew it was his fault. Despite bakugou definitely possessing both ravenclaw hufflepuff And gryffindor traits and his strong admiration for all might bakugou still ended up in slytherin due to his cunning nature and strong ambition. Bakugou was a natural hardworking talent from day one having the third highest grades in his year and one of the best members of the dueling club. He has a natural talent for dueling and explosive spells like bombarda but surprisingly dragons as well, becoming secretly one of ryukyus favorite students as he had the same ability as her. To get along with dragons as if he was one of them. Katsuki despite his natural talent prefers to work alone and would rather not let people know how much he works so he often goes to the forbidden forest to hang out with the dragons and study a bit, he did protect his robe and books with a fireproof and explosion proof charm. Bakugou is one of Slyhtherins beaters and he joined in his second year at hogwarts. Bakugou's patronus is a dragon, Dragons are strong in their convictions and will stand for what they believe is right. Those with a dragon for a Patronus are sure to be fierce fighters, and the Dementors better be ready for a challenge! ... This Patronus may be tiny, but its spirit is enough to battle any Dementor.

Kyoka Jirou

Kyoka is a half blood, her father is a muggleborn and her mother is a pureblood wizard, she grew up in Hogsmeade as her father owns dominic meastris music shop. Her father still has a passion for muggle instruments so he often goes out to buy muggle instruments to play or enchant them. Something Jirou surprisingly picked up and loved to do as well. Showing magic at an early age jirou had a strong ambition to pursue many of her hobbies and despite contemplating between slytherin and ravenclaw she was eventually sorted into slytherin. Jirou is a very musical student and she's often found in empty classrooms writing a song and playing one of her instruments. She’s quite good at potions and in her free time she studies charms she could use on her instruments. Even though her passion is great she’s very secretive about it as most slytherins do not quite have the same appreciation she has for muggle instruments and music. Kyoka is a member of the slytherin quidditch team and she’s the seeker as she has a very small build and a good sense of hearing being able to hear the snitch when it comes close to her. Her patronus is a mockingbird, her patronus is tied to that of Kaminari Denki. Mockingbirds are mysterious and intuitive, appearing when needed most. Mockingbirds keep their secrets and will protect yours fiercely. While they may not be the most ferocious protectors, they are one of the most mysterious and magical.

Tokoyami Fumikage

Tokoyami is a quiet and reserved pureblood Slytherin. Despite his formal and introverted nature he gets along with a lot of people. He’s a very talented and strong student but has issues controlling his magic. He has a talent for defense against the dark arts and potions. He works very hard in transfigurations alongside Tsuyu Asui as both of them are working towards a shared goal of becoming animagi with the help of Ryukyu. Tokoyami is one of the Slytherins chasers in the quidditch team, joining in his fifth year. He’s very serious and usually unfaced by most things around him, even bludgers as he has all his faith in Bakugou. Making him one of the best chasers Slytherin has to offer Being usually the thing that helps them win the match. Tokoyami has something similar to an obscuri inside of him, his body is a host for a magical shadow that lives within him and feeds off his magic. This creature becomes stronger in the Dark and becomes less controllable. Therefore Tokoyami at first always separated him from the others fearing he would cause them harm. Tokoyamis patronus is a raven. Having a Raven as your Patronus means you find comfort in mysticism. ... If you ever find yourself blinded by depression and falling into the abyss, this Patronus will swoop to your rescue, becoming your eyes and ears and showing you the future that still awaits you.

Hitoshi Shinsou

Hitoshi is a half blood slytherin, both of his parents were dark wizards that supported the wrong side during the war which always made him an outcast, growing up alone with neither of his parents Hitoshi. Hitoshi also has a rare ability of being a natural legilimens being able to read other people’s thoughts and shield himself from people reading his thoughts. His ability was so strong that he could even mind control people. Due to this rare ability he also felt more alone, being able to read what the people around him truly thought about him made Hitoshi feel like he was truly alone in this world. A mindset he would grow up to cling to, if everyone thought he would become bad and evil because of how he was born. Why do anything else, why escape destiny. He exiled himself from social settings and made everyone believe it was true. Occasionally mind controlling people to get what he wanted but it never felt good, he felt miserable. Until he met Midoriya, someone that was so unwaveringly kind, Shinso could feel himself get warm when Midoriya was just nearby. Their friendship allowed Shinso to open up during his third year and make friends, changing his opinion on the world. Shinso is hard working, smart and cunning. He knows how to achieve something. Shinso is very skilled in defense against the dark arts potions and legilimency where he is being trained by professor aizawa took him under his wing after noticing his natural ability. Shinso is close friends with Kaminari, Midoriya and Tokoyami. His patronus is “The grim” a large black hound rumored to be an omen of Death. Shinso believes his patronus to be misunderstood just like him, someone trying to warn people that became ostracized and said to be the problem itself.

My Hero Academia Chapter 403: The End of an Era and The Beginning

It's been a while since I did this mainly due to being busy with Grad School (which I'm almost done with thank god). But, I don't think a chapter has gotten me this hyped since Shoto Todoroki: Rising and Ochako's chapter where she saves Toga. Since the chapter is officially released, I can scream, cry, and kick my feet with you all in these bullet points. God, I love My Hero Academia, y'all.

• First off, HOLY SHIT KATSUKI BAKUGO IS ALIVE!!!!!! Apparently, it has been over 400 days since he was initially killed and brought every Bakugo lover to their knees in tears including myself. I still remember leaks night when that happened and pretty much everyone was in mourning. Then leaks night happens for his revival and everyone is celebrating like it's the second coming of Christ or something and I'm with them!

• We all knew that Bakugo would come back to life once Edgeshot started surgery on his heart, but it was the way his resurrection would be executed that I was wondering about. I can see why the whole "Edgeshot suddenly sacrifices himself to save Bakugo" would lessen the impact of his "death", but I really don't care much anymore because the way Kohei Horikoshi brought Bakugo back was SO good!

• Think about it: All Might is on the brink of death in the hands of All For One. All the red flags are there including the flashback of baby Toshinori (SO CUTE BTW LOOK AT THAT BIG LAUGH🥺) and his mother (whom he absolutely inherited his hairstyle from) in this very chapter. Gentle wants to help save him, but he's focused on keeping UA in the air. Every pro hero, UA student, and the Big 3 are either severely injured, passed out, or too preoccupied with something else to take on AFO. And even Izuku Midoriya, his protege, is busy dealing with Tomura Shigaraki in order to prevent him from turning Japan into dust. The only other person who can possibly save All Might now is Bakugo despite probably still being seriously injured himself.

• And this is great for Bakugo because this is his chance to save All Might. Not only is All Might his idol and his hero, but he is also the man Bakugo truly believes he destroyed after being kidnapped in Kamino Ward. I still believe Bakugo hasn't truly forgiven himself for that yet and this would be his way of redeeming himself. This reason alone is why I don't think All Might will die in this final arc. And if he does, I will be devastated because I really want to see him survive until the end.

• I am going to conclude this by commenting on how incredible Horikoshi is not just as a writer but as an artist because holy shit he needed that 2 week break. We got an incredible WSJ-colored Cover Page, a chapter-colored cover page, and then 15 pages of peak fiction. Those final pages once it's revealed that Bakugo is alive will live in my head rent-free for the rest of my days. ESPECIALLY THOSE LAST TWO PAGES HOLY SHIT! THE FACES, THE TEARS, THE WAY TIME SUDDENLY STOPPED WHEN THEY LOOKED AT EACH OTHER 💚🧡 The way Horikoshi draws All Might, Bakugo, and Deku is astounding and makes me cry. Those are his adopted sons. Those boys are soulmates in some capacity whether you like it or not. It may be the end of All Might's era, but it's the beginning of a new era; a new generation of heroes with Deku and Bakugo taking the lead. I can't wait for next week!

Background: Oh My Hero! Hang On!

Hey everyone! Sorry for the delay, but my new story will be dropping later this week! It is based on the anime My Hero Academia. & don't worry, this story does not have any spoilers or anything from the manga or anime!! Before I drop it, I wrote a quick summary for those who don't know of the anime but still want to read this story and enjoy!

For those who are unfamiliar, My Hero Academia is an anime focused on heroes and villains, and their quirks. A quirk is basically the “power” you possess that you develop as you get older. Some people don’t develop quirks while others do. 

In this world, heroes and villains are a huge component of everyday life. These heroes create agencies or belong to agencies where they get assigned districts to patrol and keep safe. In these agencies, there are also a lot of sidekicks who help the heroes with minor criminal activity or act as support for bigger villains.

A lot of kids go to school to become a hero and the most well-known school to go to is U.A. This is the school where the heroes in this story attended together and graduated.

**to those who are fans, I might’ve missed some stuff or if you don’t think my explanation is the best, sorry I tried my best to be as generic as possible so non-fans can get the context of the story!!**

Characters:

-Izuku (called Deku by Katsuki)

       He grew up alongside Katsuki and didn’t develop his quirk until later on in his teenage years when it was passed down to him by his idol, All Might, who was once #1 hero (he was quirkless before this). He was always a friend of Katsuki and called him Kacchan as a nickname. They grew apart even though Izuku always held out hope that their friendship was still there. As they attended UA together, they slowly mended their relationship. He is very kind, selfless, patient, outgoing (but can get flustered/embarrassed very quickly), and nerdy.

Quirk: One-for-All: Stockpile ability that increases physical capabilities. Power is passed down from user to user and it gets stronger after each pass. He develops the power of one for all but also develops whatever quirks past holders had.

-Katsuki (called Kacchan by Izuku)

     He grew up alongside Izuku and were friends as kids but as soon as Katsuki developed his quirk, he became very popular and favored as the next hero from their hometown, leaving quirkless Izuku alone (also calls Izuku Deku as a nickname). He attended UA with Izuku and mended their relationship (as good as they could). He is hot headed, competitive, and loves a good fight. 

Quirk: Explosion: can create explosions from the sweat glands on his palms. He controls when they detonate.

-Shouto

     Son of Endeavor, who was at one time #1 hero. He had a troubled upbringing where his family was broken due to his father’s insistence of raising the next best generations of heroes. Endeavor considered Shouto to be the best and most talented out of all his children, due to Shouto’s quirk. He attended UA to learn how to be a hero and to do it his way, not the way his father wanted him to do it. He is passive, socially awkward at times (also kinda doesn’t understand social cues at times), level headed, and kind. 

Quirk: Half Cold, Half Hot: has control of fire on his left side and control of ice on his right. He can shoot out ice and fire from his palms and manipulate it as he wishes.

***The villain of the story is completely made-up, not from the anime!

Summary:

Shouto, Katsuki, & Izuku have all went on to do amazing things after graduating UA and have become well known & respected heroes across the country. But when a new villain emerges, they will do anything to best him. Though, when their dignity and newfound temptations are on the line, how far will they go to come out on top? Will the public see a new side to their beloved heroes?
