Fun Fact
BuzzFeed published a report claiming that Tumblr was utilized as a distribution channel for Russian agents to influence American voting habits during the 2016 presidential election in Feb 2018.
So, I recently watched Across The Spiderverse last Friday and I fucking loved it. I've seen a lot of discussion surrounding small details and subtext in the movie, but I wanna discuss something I haven't seen a lot of people discuss.
Peter B. Parker, specifically the fact that Peter B. Parker is one of the only main Spider-People that does not have multiverse traversing watch. Rather, Peter has a visitor band.
Now this may not seem all too important, most of the Spiders in the Spider-Society don't have watches. Most of them are simply visitors and aren't part of Miguel's inner circle.
But Peter B. clearly isn't just another Spider-Person in the Spider-Society, Peter B. is clearly part of Miguel's inner circle. He knows Miguel well, he behaves with Miguel like they're good friends, like they've known eachother for a while. Peter was even right next to Miguel when Miguel's dead counterpart's universe is collapsing, trying to help him however he could.
So why doesn't Peter have a watch when he clearly qualifies for one? Did he reject the offer for one? Did Miguel consider Peter unworthy of one for some reason?
I have on why Peter B. Parker isn't given a watch, and it's pretty simple and makes a lot of sense imo.
Miles Morales.
Peter loves Miles almost like a son, Miles is the reason Peter wanted to be a father, the reason he became a father. So, what would Peter do if he was given a device that gives him the ability to travel anywhere in the multiverse? He'd visit Miles. Peter even says himself in the movie that he wanted Miles to meet Mayday.
And that's why Miguel didn't give him a watch, because Miguel knew Peter would have inevitably tried to seek Miles out, and Miguel wasn't about to allow Peter to risk bringing what he saw as the root of all his problems into their operation. So Miguel not only forbade Peter from going to see Miles, he made sure he had no possible means of doing so. Miguel didn't even give Peter a limited watch with Earth 1610 unavailable as a destination, because he likely knew Peter is smart enough to be able to bypass such restrictions.
But that's just my theory. Lemme know what you think.
We've finally narrowed it down. We crunched the numbers, we did the calculations, we tested thoroughly, and we finally found the answer to the question: Who is Spidey's one true love? And I'm proud to announce that the winner of the competition, the real love of Peter's life is none other than...
Wade Wilson!!
Congratulations to Wade, he knocked all other contestants out of the water, and I can't even say I'm surprised. From round 2, I've just been waiting to see who would come out on top between Wade and MJ. And although MJ put up one hell of a fight, Wade ultimately used his Deadpool Charm™ to win over our hearts.
So I decided to redraw this ASM cover by Ron Frenz. I just found the composition so striking and awesome, I just had to draw my take on it. I really like how the black suit replaces Peter's shadow and ominously looms over him.
I also made two variants, one with white/ grey wevs, inspired by Sam Raimi's Spider-Man, and a black and white variant.
Marvel's Spider-Man: Miles Morales takes place December 2019, over the span of a few days during the holiday season, 14 months after Marvel's Spider-Man and 10 months after The City That Never Sleeps.
The game's epilogue takes place January 2020, a month after the conclusion of the main story.
Marvel's Spider-Man 2 will take place October 2020, over an unknown span of time, 10 months after Marvel's Spider-Man: Miles Morales and 2 years after Marvel's Spider-Man.
It is shown in the gameplay reveal that Kraven the Hunter begins his plan to travel to New York six months before the events of the game, in April 2020, 4 months after Marvel's Spider-Man: Miles Morales.
- guy whos only seen ITSV, ATSV, Spider-man 1-3, TASM 1&2, and some of TSSM in that order. (me. im guy.)
personally not a huge fan of Tobey Maguire spider-man (i know im sorry) i prefer Andrew Garfield’s Amazing Spider-man. i was very hyped the entirety of both movies and absolutely crushed and baffled by the end of 2.
for Spider-Man 1-3 it was okay and also the first live action spider-man films i ever looked into because i wanted to watch it in order. (i do not plan on watching Tom Hollands Spider-man series because even thinking about it makes me feel ill with emotions. and also i am NOT interested in the rest of the Avengers. i only like spider-man.)
i watched ITSV when it came out and i thought it was cool at the time but it didnt really spark anything for me. but then i saw ATSV. i saw ATSV and my entire world expanded. quickly became a lover of all spiderpeople. watched all the live action films(minus homecoming and no way home nor Endgame) and the ATSV short. havent read any of the comics or anything but do know some lore from wikis.
basically my knowledge on spiderman characters spans from all the ones that are actually in the movies ive seen. hell i barely know who ganke is, i just know hes miles’ roommate who knows he’s spiderman in ATSV.
also Spectacular spiderman is rlly very good and everyone should go look at it.
