Rammstein mentioned in Finnish media

I have no idea why, but Rammstein is super popular in Finland. Almost everyone here seem to have an opinion about them: some think they are just a bunch of weirdo German guys who love cannibals while some are hardcore fans, appreciating their art and getting what they are trying to say with their dark lyrics and heavy riffs. There are also a lot of people who just enjoy the shows for entertainment and have perhaps heard a song or two via radio, but not considering themselves fans. (Reminds me of a bunch of guys in the gig in Helsinki in 2012 who were getting drunk before getting into the venue, talking loudly how they were finally able to escape their wives, lmao.)

I did some research what Finnish media has said about Rammstein and I found some funny and very random stuff as well. Reading these news reminded me of one interview where Ollie or Schneider said that fans understand them much better than general media and it was visible in most of the stuff I found: the journalists clearly didn’t have the slightest clue about the band. They are often referred in biggest media channels (like Yle or Iltalehti) as “a heavy band with big explosion who love to boil their keayboardist, omg :O:O:O” There are also some really cute and nice stuff, especially when the fans are speaking and not only some random journalists.

But yeah, here are some random articles/news/whatever that relate somehow to Rammstein. Tell me if there is something you want to be completely translated and also, share your country’s media’s interpretations, I’d love to see them!

- This was actually quite cute article about the Ratina concert last summer (you know a country is small when there’s a huge hype about big international stars coming there, especially to a city that is not their capital). They were asking people about their opinions of Rammstein and everyone seemed to be very enthusiastic about the concert. There was even a guy from Australia who came all the way to Tampere to see them. Amazing.

- Not completely Rammstein related, but an article about a metalhead priest who uses Rammstein’s music as her inspiration when she writes sermons. Awesome.

- When world-famous artists come to Finland and even decide to take a couple of days off here after their concerts and not flying immediately back home, it’s worth mentioned in news. They said Rammstein went to fishing and sauna. :33 There was also a poll where they asked what you’d recommend for artists who come to Finland - coming to my place, of course!

- Our boys had to pay 200k euros for the new lawn for Ratina Stadium because the football people were upset.

- A review of the gig, where the writer wasn’t clearly satisfied about what he saw. He was for example complaining that the start of the show was weak and the band had on purpose given permission for taking photos only of the three of the first songs when “there didn’t happen anything interesting yet.” He also said that: “Rammstein is famous for their outrageous performances” and under the picture of them all in Was ich liebe: “there are six German guys on the stage wearing funny costumes but no flames or visuals.” I dunno, but it was funny. They also wrote Sehnsucht as “Shensucht” at first and I cracked up a bit.

- Once again, a proof you live in a small country when PAUL LANDERS AND CHRISTOPH SCHNEIDER MENTIONED FINLAND IN THEIR INSTAGRAMS OMMMMMMGGGGGG It’s also a bit weirdly written as they say the band met their fans and “were even willing to have photos with them”. Hellooo Iltalehti, never heard about Meet and Greet?

- ZOMG TILL LINDEMANN IS FISHING NAKED IN OUR COUNTRY! AND ALSO, HAS TAGGED FINLAND!! The title is btw super hilarious, it’s even difficult to translate word by word, but it says: “Rammstein is cannoning once again tonight in Tampere - though Till Lindemann is fishing in his own peace without a single piece of clothing still.” Even though the magazine is ultimate garbage, I have to give points for the title.

- A badly written piece of news about the Paulchard kiss. It says: “The band’s two guitarists got excited about kissing each other on the stage.” Lmao. I also died when there was a picture of Paul on top and in the caption it says: “Till Lindemann, the singer of Rammstein.” Close enough.

- A comment from a 70-year-old guy in the city of Tampere’s local newspaper. It went pretty viral fast. The guy, who lives 4km from the venue, said that the horrible cacophony of the concert in Ratina ruined his sleep that night. He even measured the decibels with his phone. About the music and fans he said: “It was repetitive bass thumping” and “the people in the stadium must have been in some kind of trance.” Well, hell of a trance it was then. He also made up a hilarious word “melusaasteaivopesu (noisepollutionbrainwash) that I definitely need to use somewhere, it’s so creative.

- The city of Kerava started giving German lessons with Rammstein lyrics in their local folk’s high school and it got super popular. The course was even filmed briefly to our news. There was also in some other piece of media interview about the principal of the school who was shocked when somebody told her what Rammstein is singing about when the lessons were supposed to be suitable for everyone, lol. In the end, they translated the lyrics of “Mein Land”, “Deutschland” and “Du hast” in the actual course, so not that bad. Can only wonder would they have showed it in the news though if “Bück dich” would have been there...

How was your Halloween? It was a lot of fun - Rita’s sister Torta invited us to her school’s college Halloween party so my orgmates and I planned a whole day/overnight stay at their place. I was Dora, Rita was Kuzco, Tina was Waldo, Blanch was Velma, Jum was Wednesday Addams, but I’ve forgotten what Laurice went as and I still can’t remember even when I’m looking at our old photos rn. The idea of going to Rita’s super exclusive super rich super old money village seemed a bit scary in the beginning skfkfhfg but she made us feel right at home immediately. When was the last time you skipped school? The one time I had to skip class because I was too late to enter anyway was for my PE class lasssst March, I’m guessing? It was either late Feb or early March. What color was the first pet you had? Orange. Have you ever had fake nails? No but I’ve lowkey been fascinated with them lately because of Kylie Jenner loooooool and want to try going to a nail salon to get fake nails. Like at least just for a day or two, just to get a verdict on them. How many vacations have you been on? We’ve had too many to count. I can try counting them but I’ll most likely miss several vacations... I’d say it’s in the 20-30 range, considering when my family started vacationing regularly and the fact that we travel 2-3 times a year.

Have you ever fallen asleep on the phone with the person you like? Yeah, until recently when I stopped having load to call her this is how I’d usually fall asleep. The white noise is soothing. Do you own/want a snuggie? Again, nope. When was the last time you went to a concert? August 2018. The show was actually scheduled for February 2018, but Hayley Williams got like a throat infection and it had to be moved. Which thankfully it was, because we only would have gotten older songs if the Feb show pushed through. Paramore didn’t release After Laughter till May that year. What did you do today? I consoled my girlfriend after she received some bad news, had a big brunch to celebrate my parents’ 23rd wedding anniversary, played Duolingo for a couple of hours, and now I’m helping Gab make a script in Tagalog heh. Do you know anyone who is a total health freak? I dunno anyone who’s an absolute health freak but I have a couple of friends who will order salads and smoothies from time to time. Who was the last person you met? The last new person I met was the eye doctor I had for my appointment. Would you rather save your best friend or your mother from dying? Hate these questions. What color is your mousepad? I haven’t used a mouse since high school. What was your favorite year of high school? Junior year was a lot of fun. It was the first time my circle of friends started to really grow and I finally felt like I belonged somewhere and I was just generally happier that school year. Current favorite song? Don’t have one at the moment. I’m super detached from music these days. Ever had a teacher call on you when they know you're not paying attention? Yeah just once, in Grade 4. I was in the middle of telling a joke and Katreen and I were snickering pretty distractingly at the back, so we rightfully got called out on it. After that I never wanted to not pay attention in class. Would you be more afraid of drowning or being buried alive? Buried alive. You have people thinking you’re dead, you’re locked in a coffin, in total darkness, and surrounded by worms and other creepy crawlies that live underground. I can’t think of a scarier, more claustrophobic scenario lol. Do you wear makeup every day? The complete opposite. Tell me about your boyfriend/girlfriend? :) She writes very well and I love her poems the most; she has an amazing radar for excellent TV series and films and is always accurate about which ones are bound for the Emmys/Oscars; she has random hobbies that pop up from time to time, including mastering the balisong and crocheting; she really loves Italian and Spanish food; and she can sometimes have an explosive temper. Have you ever gone to the ER for something that could have killed you? I didn’t have to be rushed to the ER for it but a low number of platelets isn’t absolutely fatal, as far as I know. All I remember is that I had a 40ºC fever but weirdly enough I felt very well, like I was able to walk myself to the school clinic and make jokes to my mom about going to the mall instead of resting. Should you really be doing something more productive right now? Yes, but shush. I really don’t feel like working on my thesis anytime soon. Do you like pulling all nighters just because? I don’t pull all nighters exactly but yeah, ‘just because’ is pretty much my reason for wanting to stay up till 3 or 4 AM most nights. Have you ever lived out of your car? No but I’ve done something that reminds me of it. In my first and second years of college when I didn’t have friends to see or places to hang at yet, I would stay in my car for all my naps, lunch breaks, class breaks, crying sessions, etc. How many closets are in your house? We have one in every bedroom, so that makes it four. Does your family own more than two houses? I wouldn’t say that. We have this house, and even though my mom still helps my grandma in paying for our old house, it’s wrong to claim it as ours. Have you ever eaten at Olive Garden? No...I don’t think I would be interested if given the chance either. Does your family vote on a lot of things? Not really. My dad has worked abroad for 20 years so he’s incredibly detached from national politics; my siblings are still too young for voter’s registration; and my mom only started voting again recently because I encouraged her to. Before the 2016 elections the last time she voted was back in 1992 if I remember right. Would you marry someone who could never have sex, for medical reasons? I’d be like 23% bummed but I imagine getting over it quickly and easily, so yes. I don’t really actively seek sex and I’m demi anyway, which is under the ace umbrella. What about someone who was guaranteed to die in five years? It’s gonna feel like the Hang the DJ episode of Black Mirror lmao but if our relationship proved to be very strong, then I would. Did you see Paranormal Activity? Yesssssss that was so much fun haha. I’m terrible with jump scares though so I haven’t seen the ending where she [spoiler alert] lunges towards the camera. Who was the last person you texted? I texted a promo code for my service provider hah. I don’t text anyone these days. Do you have a protective father/older brother? Yeah, my dad. Do you go out every weekend? Nope, I don’t really prefer to. My weekdays are usually very busy that I just want to do nothing by the time the weekend comes. Do you drink alcohol or do drugs? I drink sometimes and I guess you could say I take lighter drugs like caffeine, but that’s it. Does it snow a lot in the winter where you live? It does not snow here at all. Where do you go/want to go to college? I had always wanted to go to UP Diliman and fortunately I passed. Do you have any step parents? Nope. Does your cell phone have a full keyboard? It has a full touchscreen keyboard if that counts, lmao. Have you ever had a friend come over when you're sick? No but that’s also partly because I never get sick. Do you like cornbread? It’s okay, but I find it too dry. I’ll have it if it’s like a free appetizer or side dish, but I would never crave it. Do you know what year your mother was born in? 49 years ago. Have you ever been in an airplane? Sure. Is it really late at night right now? Not at all. It’s mid-afternoon.

The Next Iron Man

There’s a lot of debate around who will fill the shoes of Iron Man and I have a feeling that this is just going to turn into an essay, but this is how I feel about each of the individual candidates for being the next Iron Man.

So I’m going to start with my favourite MCU character, Peter Parker, AKA Spiderman. In the trailers for Spiderman: Far From Home (it’s being released tomorrow so this might be premature), we have been seeing Peter being treated as the world’s next ‘genius, billionaire, playboy, philanthropist’. Except he’s not? Peter has always been the friendly-neighbourhood Spiderman. I saw a thread where he would be the only Avenger that you would ask to walk you home if you didn’t feel safe - not because the other’s aren’t trustworthy, but because Spiderman is the most relatable and it would be easier to ask him than the others. He’s not the suit of armour around the world, but the guardian angel that you see every week. I feel like I don’t want that being taken away from him or taken out of the MCU since it’s so important for his dynamic as a superhero. Peter Parker is too shy to become the face of Stark Industries, or attend conferences or Stark Expo. He’s smart, but in a lowkey way. He doesn’t flaunt his engineering prowess or hook up with all the hot ladies, he goes to Maths Decathlons, is too shy to ask out that one girl he likes in his class and he’s still in high school.

Next, we have Riri Williams AKA Iron Heart. I love Riri with a passion. She made her superhero armour when she was 10, applied to be an astronaut at 11 and won a scholarship to Massachusetts Institute of Technology at 15. If that’s not Tony Stark, I don’t know what is. She even became one of Tony’s protégées. Riri would be a perfect in the role. She would have the exact confidence that Tony’s successor requires. I can already picture her slow motion walking away from an explosion and putting on her sunglasses. I understand that there is a lot of controversy around Riri, as she would be an unknown character who would just appear out of nowhere and take up the Iron Man mantle, which is why I think Marvel has instantly dived towards Peter, but if Riri were introduced in the correct way, then I think that a lot of the issues with her concept would evaporate. One of the reasons that her character made more sense in the comics was that she had physical interactions with Tony and, like I said, was one of his protégées, but now that Tony has died within the MCU, the possibility of that being how she is introduced has now been rendered impossible. There’s always the choice that there could be a movie set in the past which involves their relationship, but it would feel to forced and artificial as Riri hasn’t been mentioned in the rest of the films. There is also no circle of characters which Riri could stem from. For example, I talk about Lila Barton in the Children of the MCU post, as she could be the replacement of Kate Bishop. Riri’s creation in the comics made her seem like a temporary substitute for Tony when he was out of the action for a small period of time, and when he returns she would just fade into the background as a minor character. I love her character and I feel like she has so much potential, but it would be really hard to slot her into the MCU and it would probably end up being way too forced and lead to her being even more disliked than she already is. If it were handled in the correct way, then I think that she could become a really funny member of the MCU. (also please don’t attack me, these are just my opinions.)

Now, of course, we come to Morgan Stark. My precious little baby sister (don’t @ me it’s just how I view her). I’m looking forward to seeing her grow and develop in the MCU (not yet though, and I’d rather not have Katherine Langford play her but that’s another story). But as she grows to be older I think that she could be a great successor to her dad. I can see her as a perfect mixture of Pepper and Tony. Business like, professional, able to handle issues like her mother. Confident, cool, collected like her father (alliteration unintended lmao). A lot of people want to see her as Iron Heart not Iron Man, which could solve the issue of Iron Heart being a random character that we haven’t met yet, but she wouldn’t be Riri Williams who brings more diversity to the Marvel Universe as one of the reasons she was created. But I’d enjoy seeing Morgan become Iron Man. She also has her issues however. Hmm let me think about it... Oh yeah she’s five. Maybe she could become the next Iron Man, but not nearly yet.

I haven’t really mentioned Pepper taking over the role, but I don’t feel that she would be right as it. She was great as a supporting badass in Endgame and I think she suits being the CEO (my feminist self isn’t really standing out in this paragraph is it). She would be the mother of Morgan and teach her all of her dad’s moves and be her mentor, along with her big brother Spiderman.

So I know that this might have come across as I’M A FEMINIST SO EVERY SINGLE MARVEL CHARACTER MUST BE REPLACED WITH A WOMAN BECAUSE MEN ARE SHIT. I’m not saying that at all. I’m also not saying that the front runner of the MCU has to be a woman. I don’t have a problem with them being a man, if I did, I wouldn’t have this blog or own every single DVD of every marvel movie ever. (I’ll address my opinions of feminism in marvel in another post at some point.)

There is a part of me that would enjoy seeing Harley becoming the next Iron Man as he is a character that we’ve already been introduced to him so it would be acceptable as a successor, but I don’t think it would be something that Marvel considers. I have a feeling that Marvel might go for the Peter being a temporary Iron Man while Morgan grows up but I don’t know. I just don’t want to see Peter become a large flashy superhero, instead of the friendly neighbourhood Spiderman. But yeah...

So these are my opinions of the whole Iron Man situation, don’t hate me for them, but I hope you can relate to a few of them and feel free to share your own. Just don’t start a war please thank you.

BnHA Chapter 026: Obstacle Course Part 2 (Conclusion)

Previously on BnHA: The kids of class A busted their way through the sports festival obstacle course like the young gods-in-the-making they are. Everyone was like, whoa, these kids are kicking ass. Momo made a gun and I may have cried a little. Some girl from the support course macguyvered her way through with moon shoes and a utility belt. Fucking Deku tore through the entire thing carrying a giant metal plate and just whomping robots left and right and shimmying across the floating islands of Pandora like fucking Spider-Man. He then catapulted himself onto a bunch of mines in a fucking minefield and fucking surfed the resulting explosion and I’m fucking done you guys.

Today on BnHA: Deku nearly commits a murder but it nets him first place. Todoroki spits in the face of continuity. Everyone in class A advances to the second round of the festival. Midnight announces that round 2 will be a cavalry battle. Deku has a target painted on his back because no good deed ever goes unpunished.

(As always, all comments not marked with an ETA are my unspoiled reactions from my first readthrough of this chapter. I’ve read up through chapter 48 now, so any ETAs will reflect that.)

by the way, so Todoroki apparently doesn’t need to physically touch whatever it is he’s freezing, then? because here he’s just stomping on the ground and it’s immediately turning to ice, but he’s wearing shoes. I can’t remember if he’s done this before, but I feel like up till now it’s always been his hands

in fact, I just went back and checked his intro in chapter 11 and it specifically said he freezes things with his right hand (left hand is the fire one). so I consider this panel a plot hole unless Horikoshi decides to come along and explain it later

(ETA: not only did they not explain it, they didn’t change it for the anime either. WHAT KIND OF GARBAGE IS THIS. I CAN’T BELIEVE THE ENTIRE SERIES IS RUINED JUST LIKE THAT OMG.)

Deku seems more worried about losing time on his landing than he is about, you know, landing badly and breaking every bone in his body. I guess once you’ve already done that a few times, you kind of become accustomed to it and it’s no big deal anymore

(ETA: let’s not talk any more about Deku not giving a shit about his own broken bones holy shit.)

I mean, of course she’s watching, but it only just occurred to me. is he actually going to use his quirk here at some point or what? and if he does, just what the hell is she going to make of that?

I hope he comes clean with her afterwards, honestly. I have faith in her ability to keep a secret that would put her child’s life in jeopardy otherwise

and speaking of that, scrolling back up to the panel above Izumama, there’s this other random guy watching Deku who seems to also recognize him

what’s this about exactly? a year ago would be right around the time of the Sludge Incident. does he remember him from that? or does he somehow know Deku from back in his middle school days?

(ETA: it’s the former, I overthought this)

actually there are a lot of people who went to school with Izuku and specifically knew him to not have a quirk, come to think. what are all of them going to think if he suddenly busts one out here in front of the entire country? I feel like that’s going to seem really fucking suspicious and raise a lot of questions

anyway, moving on here, it seems Tomura is watching too. what a creep

and his hands are gone, just like when he visited the school that day and (presumably) broke in

aww. Deku sought out All Might’s face in the crowd and he’s grinning at him and he looks so proud. he’s crying again sob. and All Might looks fucking ecstatic

now All Might is having an internal monologue about how so many modern heroes are in it for the fame and so they’re selfish, but Deku isn’t like that, and that’s why he chose him. and interestingly he says he thought that quality would be a potential weakness, but he’s happy to be proven wrong

“but you gotta stop crying all the time!” aww, let him be, he’s emotional, there’s nothing wrong with that. I was gonna add “and he’s still a kid”, but that implies that there’s anything wrong with an adult being emotional which isn’t the case either. I know he’s all about the whole “smiling through the pain” thing, but Deku’s not the type to keep his feelings so hidden, and honestly I think that’s also a strength rather than a weakness

people from the business course are discussing Deku’s draft stock now, and speculating on how they would market him

yeah All Might I kind of see what you mean here. it’s all about the PR, and the actual hero stuff has almost been taken out of the equation

there’s a panel explaining how the business course members don’t participate in the sports fest directly and instead they just walk around doing boring business things. I’m not at all interested in this but I am dutifully making a note of it

(ETA: though I would be interested if they did some more shit dealing with sudden fame and celebrity and marketing deals. it’s still ridiculous to me that a country with as huge an idol culture as Japan would not be attempting to do this with at least some of these U.A. kids.)

(ETA 2: finally in the latest chapter I read we at least had someone filming a commercial.)

Iida’s depressed because being fast is His Whole Thing and he still came in like fifth. honestly I feel like that does hurt him a little more than the rest, because if any heroes out there are on the lookout for a speedster, they’re probably going to be less taken with a guy that didn’t even manage to make the podium in the speed competition. but you still have the rest of the festival, Iida. and if all else fails, you’ll still have two more chances after this

Momo made it in sixth! along with this piece of drifting garbage that seems to have gotten stuck to her somehow

I’m sorry you had to see this, everyone. Momo is brilliant, but I feel like she missed a golden opportunity to make another gun or something and solve our Mineta problem for good. they did say no rules, after all. any lawyer worth their salt should be able to work with that

oh wow, I thought Iida and Ochako were fourth and fifth, but apparently that Poison Ivy girl came in fourth! Ibara, huh? I like her a lot

and this Dia de Muertos guy came in fifth!!

74: A Katy or a Gaga

Written by: Russel Friend and Garrett Lerner. Directed by: Ian Brennan

Overall Thoughts: I think a big part of why this episode is so low is based on the fact that it comes right after “The Quarterback”. Not only is it basically filler coming after the strongest, most emotional episode Glee ever made, but it also feels a little too happy-go-lucky too fast. I mean, last week they were all crying non-stop, but now a week has past and they’re like, done grieving? I know they kept up with the Finn mourning throughout the rest of the show, but seriously, right now it feels like they’re moving on a little too fast. Don’t get me wrong, I do enjoy this episode. It has it’s funny parts, and most of the stories are interesting. But it definitely feels too soon to be having such a silly, fun, typical Glee episode.

What I Like:

I actually do enjoy Penny in this episode, as she feels more fleshed-out, and less “look at me I’m so quirky and that’s my only personality trait”. It’s too bad they wrote her off the show immediately after she got interesting.

ELLIOTT STARCHILD GILBERT IS HERE Y’ALL. Adam Lambert is my ALL TIME favourite guest star. I love Elliott so damn much. Holy shit.

Rachel being so amazing and supportive of Kurt, while also calling him out on his bullshit. It’s interesting to me how Santana obviously wasn’t able to get to Kurt, so she shows Rachel the video and knows that Rachel will. Sometimes you need a kind voice telling you to grow the fuck up.

The way that Marley tells Unique she refuses to get freaked out about Jake and Bree. She is fully aware that if Jake cheats on her, it’s totally on him. I love how much she’s grown since we were introduced to her.

Kurt’s convo with Elliott GOSH LOOK AT THESE BEST FRIENDS.

Sam’s love of True Jackson VP and Blaine being so judgmental of it

“What if we had sparklers but we’re inside? That’s crazy” and Blaine rubbing Marley’s arm like “oh honey”

The whole scene where they’re trying to come up with the name for the band like oh my GOD.

Dani being so excited when Kurt says he’s taking girls in his band

Marley standing up for herself and her desire to not have sex. Which like, is wild to me how much Jake is acting like she’s being out of line. YOU TWO ARE FIFTEEN/SIXTEEN YEARS OLD. WHY IS THIS SUCH A BIG DEAL.

What I Don’t Like:

They basically realized they hadn’t done anything with Jake and Marley yet, probably couldn’t come up with a way to make them interesting, so had Jake cheat on Marley with literally zero build up. It all happens within this one episode, and it’s really unsatisfying. The thing that sucks is that I feel like they were building up toward this since they introduced these characters, but kind of forgot along the way. If they had made it more obvious that their relationship was stagnant in Jake’s eyes, that he was getting frustrated, and that Marley was growing more and more sure of her decisions and her knowledge that the only way she could change this would be to do something she doesn’t want to do, then I could have bought it. But we get cute Jarley, cute Jarley, cute Jarley, NOTHING, and then boom, cheating. Ugh.

The Penny and Sam story just feels unnecessary since this is the last episode she’s in. It’s set up like the start of an amazing romance, but there’s nothing else for them. It feels like Kadam in “Girls (and Boys) on Film”

The fact that the first song sung by Kurt’s band isn’t even sung by Kurt. He doesn’t even have a solo line. Neither does Santana. I just. WHAT. Hello @ writers: THIS IS KURT’S BAND.

Kurt being so unnecessarily mean to Elliott. It hurts my heart, and reeks of season one Kurt, which sucks because he’s grown so damn much.

As I’ve already said, this episode is just filler, which is annoying as hell, especially considering what episode it followed.

The build-up to Throat Explosion and then they didn’t even do anything that amazing at Nationals lmao

Songs:

Marry the Night: I love one (1) man. Elliott fucking destroys this song. I am in love.

Applause: This is one of my fave Glee covers ever, mostly because of that one line Blaine has near the end. The actual performance gives me a headache, but this cover. THIS COVER. Seriously, one of my faves.

Wide Awake: An amazing cover as well. I love the stripped down version of this. And all their voices sound so amazing together.

Roar: The only song this episode I don’t really jive with, but that’s mostly because of the fact that Kurt doesn’t get to sing in it. It’s a cool performance, though, and they do a good job of cutting between Lima and NYC. Also, I ADORE the way Marley says hey to Bree, confused by why she’s there, but not looking suspicious of her at all. Still showing she trusts Jake, but knows if he fucks up it’s on him.

Final Thoughts: I think if this episode had come at another point in the season, it would be ranked higher. It still loses points for being a filler episode, but having it be right after “The Quarterback” just makes it feel trivial. I enjoy watching it, don’t get me wrong, but more-so in a random way. Like, if I feel like watching it outside the chronology of the show, I enjoy it a lot more. Watching it right after “The Quarterback” just leaves me feeling like… well, nothing, to be honest. Empty.

Transformers The Last Knight spoiler thoughts

Here are my notes for the movie. I have to go back soon to watch it again for technical details/film minor purposes. But these are my super unprofessional opinions. Mostly me screaming about my robot children.

-entire beginning (the random kids, Izabella and Mark’s appearance) was a bit weak. Starting in medias res without explaining.

- Though watching Bee drag Santiago’s ass around while he was shrieking was A+

- Hyped up Izabella yet after first part of movie, she was barely in it. Moner’s an amazing actress, she’s gonna go places. I hope to see her around some more. She’s adorable, I get slight TFP Miko feels from her, sneaky child (especially towards the end when she sneaks aboard and is like yeah idk how I got here lol)

- Sqweeks the new BB8, a good child.

- nice team Prime exposition in the junkyard. I wish there was more of this type of interaction , showing that the robots are more than just bloodthirsty walking metal.

- Man the fucking tension between BB and Crosshairs, just rolling around in the dust, fucking make out already.

- Drift is my temperamental son and I love him.

- Baby dinobots are literal puppies and Cade sorta just adopted a ragtag team of jittery orphans and I’m emotional.

-STARSCREAM MY DARLING *SOBS*

- BUDLIGHT HARHAR

- nice Tessa and Cade family moment

- Hound is mah boi, a gentle giant

- Military is like “that voice…it’s Megatron” but this is Welker’s first time voicing Megatron (not counting Galvatron) so XD but yes to Frank Welker finally getting the job as Megatron.

- wtf is megatron doing, did they really give back a few criminal decepticons for two CIA agents. Him on his throne was YES. The lawyer scene was pretty funny. But they don’t explain how he turned from galvatron to megatron again. When did he contact Quintessa?

- DECEPTICON SQUADDD GOOD SHIT GOALS

- My treacherous friend- GOD DAMN Megatron should’ve kept starscream’s head and just had fun commentary all throughout the movie. Imagine tho ((SHIT WHAT WOULD STARSCREAM DO…FUCK UP THAT’S WHAT… STORECREAM THIS IS YOUR FAULT OH WAIT YOU DEAD…SCRIMSCRAM YOURE USELESS))

- DRIFT’S ALT MODE IS FUCKING GORGEOUS LORD HAVE MERCY

- Cogman is already badass, rip Crosshair’s fingers.

- It felt like two separate movies the moment Cade left for London. The joys of Bayverse script quality

- Anthony Hopkins sure travels fast

- they totally put Simmons in for the hell of it, he wasn’t necessarily needed. But who cares Easter eggs, it’s been a while buddy, how’ve you been.

-UNICRON??? OHHHHHHHHHH

- Vivian’s clothes and boyfriend problems, enough with the forced romance already. At least her mother and gaggle of old ladies wouldn’t have minded if she chose a girlfriend apparently? Wow wouldn’t that have been nice. She’s going to date that one cute gal on her polo game team and Cade’s saving himself for OP CLEARLY

- The watch that killed Hitler - international treasure

- is that an Aston Martin?? all of Anthony Hopkins cars made me super fucking jealous. That was pure car porn and I loved it

- Cogman is MVP

- MOVE BITCH GET OUT THE WAY

- Optimus got turned real quick. He has less screentime than Megatron rip my father- almost every moment of him and Quintessa was already in the trailer. And they kept pushing his storyline aside in favor of the humans like honey no. Show me more conflict and torture on his side, so there’s progression in him being “brainwashed”, that seemed almost too easy, it’s insulting. Quintessa got so little screentime, it made her seem less intimidating.

- She slapped the evil red paint into him hell yeah. Clearly she did the same to Megatron. I wanted to see that lmao. Why the hell was megatron working for her in the first place. How do you have so much shit happen yet give us nothing

- Wait so…does Cybertron have rocket boosters how is it moving towards Earth so fast…cool

- they under used all the robot characters, pushing so much history and exposition on the audience through human perspective when they had a plethora of robot characters that could’ve explained their past. So much potential but no steps are taken. Like Bee was around WWII but he doesn’t say anything when they’re discussing it like hello? Could’ve used Hot Rod better too. He’s a good boy, let him do more.

- drift and crosshairs have basically no role towards the end except to play pilot and they’re barely on screen even then. Whyyyy. They shined the most during the junkyard scene in the beginning.

- Andd we have to watch Vivian stare at Cade’s nipnops for a full minute and listen to cringe-y forced romance

- Cogman I love you. He ain’t having none of Cade and Vivian’s romance bullshit. I want him to be my sushi chef.

- Its like the TRF can’t fucking decide what their goal is. They’re too afraid to shoot Cade. Half the time they’re the “bad guys” half the time they just go along with what’s happening with a huge question mark on their face. No real explanation on why Lennox and Epps are there.

- Nemeis Optimus doesn’t even sound that different from regular Optimus lmaoo, it’s just rah I will kill you all!! Just a regular old day in the life of bayverse OP. *Puts on sunglasses* just chill, sit down, relax, stop screaming.

- Puts staff in boobs subspace. TIT POCKETS GOOD SHIT

- Wow Optimus snapped out of it real quick. But his scene with bumblebee was one of the most heart warming in this movie. Bee’s voice asdfghjkl;

- I am your oldest friend, BITCH YOU HIS SON

- Every time he said nemesis prime, I cringed and laughed

- WOW Megatron stole the staff from OP’s TITS

- Optimus getting his ass kicked by the knights and megatron was the highlight of my day. He’s so small compared to them and just fuck yeah my sadistic needs

- yes he stabbed/ripped a face again, we need to talk about your face ripping fetish

- OPTIMUS RUNNING HOLY SHIT LOL I WANT THAT GIF'ED I WANT ALL THE ROBOT RUNNING TO BE IMMORTALIZED

- Megatron uses HEADBUTT. Effectiveness? To be determined.

- megatron is once again playing secondary villain, interacts with Prime for a total of thirty seconds before blasting off again. Wow nice seeing these two ex husbands interact 30 seconds out of a three hour movie wow. You know what they could’ve done? Shown more of Quintessa Optimus and Megatron interaction like how would Megs and Op treat each other when they thought they were on the same side like WOW THAT WOULDVE BEEN COOL YKNOW

- When will Megatron get to be the main villain again. Let the old man be dramatic.

- SAY HELLO TO MY FRIEND BUMBLEBEE. HAH. SAY HELLO TO MY SON BUMBLEBEE. This is the corny shit i come to see!!

- quintessa also went down real quick but she’s got some cool shit planned. She’s Asian!!?? I love her she’s beautiful.

- So there was less action/explosions this movie. Most of it came from the humans/car chases and their poor Ospreys getting murdered. There was really only the decepticons squad attack and the final battle which I felt was pretty underwhelming compared to the usually drawn out fights in the other four movies. - every time they mentioned unicron I was screaming.

- now Unicron and Primus are literal neighbors hey wassup this will only end well.

- it was a shit show from beginning to end but a decent blockbuster mind numbing experience I guess. Did I enjoy it tho? The first time I watched it, I was in the moment. The second time? Oh my god did it fucking suck so hard. The story-telling was absolutely terrible and inconsistent.

- they gave me 3D glasses but there was barely a difference from watching without. I watched it without the glasses. Waste of an extra 10 bucks.

- I need to be more professional in note taking OTL
