I sat and watched each grain of sand

Slipping away our time

Just to rub my eyes and clench my hands

And nod my head in acceptance

It wasn’t enough

He was the sound of a calm creek

Rippling over moss covered rocks

With gentle feet

That walked the trail to my home

Directly into my life when the sun was setting

Eclipsing My view and painting him in shadows

The world was quiet, the earth held its breath

And i never felt so alive

I have a cripple heart

Deformed and at times useless
