So I keep seeing new people joining the fandom, and I thought it would be a good idea to make a sort of ‘Starter Pack’ of the essentials which they can be referred to when they want to become more involved in the ship!

Con - Just short for convention. Important ones for the show are Fairytales/Xivents, Spooky Con, and San Diego Comic Con. Lots of us go to them so keep an eye on the tags when one is coming up if you want to meet up with people!

“It’s porn!” -  Often used in fan-created works from Mary Margaret towards Swan Queen. A joke that started as the result of a comment by Ginny Goodwin on twitter. 

“Divorced Lesbian Mommies” -  A term used to describe the perceived nature of Emma and Regina’s relationship in a lot of scenes. If that kind of thing is your jam, see the fic Somewhere, Someone Must Know the Ending. 

“Rom-Com Zoom” -  Used in 3x13, where Regina GAZES AT EMMA AND THEN THE CAMERA ZOOMS IN ON HER EXPRESSION. I’M FINE. 

Swan Queen Sweater -  First mentioned in an interview by Lana, her and Jen now both own a sweater which has a swan wearing a crown on the front, and lots of us own one too! You can buy one here

“Unintentional” - Used to describe Swan Queen at Comic Con 2013. Often used by SWEN in a “HOW IS THIS UNINTENTIONAL” kind of way.

A+E - Adam Horowitz and Eddy Kitsis, OUAT’s creators and showrunners.

Endgame - Generally refers to the status quo at the end of a show. So, if Emma and Regina were to be in a relationship when the show ended, they would be endgame.

“True love is the strongest magic” - A running theme on OUAT. True love is the only magic to be able to transcend realms, etc. (Emma and Regina opened a portal to another realm with their magic)

Long Live Swan Queen - Lana signed this on lots of autographs at Spooky Con 2015, and it’s another motto of ours now!
