If you release all those in your life that can’t celebrate your successes or keep your secrets confidential and you’re left alone, isn’t that still better than it was?

Another addition to my strange collection. This is the funeral card for Lillian Donahue who died in 1890 at the age of 5.

I have a fascination with death. A fear, a morbid curiosity, call it what you will. I write about it. My book, ‘Cemetery Music’ , is devoted to it. I am obsessed with photos of people who have long since died. And today I added something new to my collection. This is a memorial plaque which would have been on a tombstone or in a family mausoleum. Poor Mathilde died at the age of 28 in 1910.
