I can't stop thinking about my 19 year old friend, one of 604 soldiers who gave their lives for the people of Israel during these past six months.

I can't stop thinking about how they're never going to hug their loved ones again, or dance at a friend's wedding. But they also won't be experiencing so many *little* things that make life, well, life. They're never going to feel the triumph of sprinting to catch the bus and making it at the last minute, or the exasperation of spilling soup on their pants or the absurdity of meeting old highschool friends on the train. It's so deeply and incomprehensibly sad.

On Passover we remember the first organized attempt to put an end to the Jewish people. If I counted all the times since then, we'd be here all day. But this time, we have an army. We have a country. We're not going anywhere.

This Passover I'm thinking about the 604 souls who aren't going to celebrate Pesach with their families. And I'm hoping that their sacrifice isn't in vain, and that we can have seder and continue with our lives in peace and in safety. I hope we see all the hostages home safe, that the refugees return to theie homes, that we eradicate Hamas once and for all and see the Palestinians live under a healthy government.

I feel like one of the problems with social media and this war is that a ton of jewish users come off as being interested solely in, like, antisemitism and antizionism &etc. On a personal level, honestly I don't think I could be less interested in talking about people hating me and wishing I were dead. It's kind of... Not very interesting to me? I have soooo many other intersts. Except, it's kinda important to address this just, like, vaguely terrifying and unsettling and really deeply depressing trend, so I do it.

Basically what I'm saying is leave the jewish people alone we really should be able to have lives that don't involve existential terror.

177 is ALSO the number of days that have passed since Hamas invaded Israel and massacred over a thousand people of all ages, genders and nationalities, in addition to raping, torturing and burning people alive and also mutilating their corpses and doing a lot of other stuff I won't mention. 177 days since every soldier and a huge percentage of the civilian population have been literally risking their lives to keep other people alive.

177 is also the number of days that have passed since all the refugees from around the Gaza strip (and the north) have seen their houses. Assuming, of course, that their houses are still standing,
