Worked on this painting over the course of about a week or so. An hour here and there. I’m switching my work to clip studio, so this will probably be my last project in procreate.

That postpartum depression? Yeah, it never actually went away. I went another year with no drawing. Just existing. It’s okay, though. I think I’m out of it for real this time since I’m finally feeling much more productive and positive.
Been watching a lot of Star Trek lately. Is it hard to believe that watching Deep Space 9 got me out of my artistic funk? There is something hopeful about Star Trek that always lifts my spirits. I’m back to drawing and painting more regularly now, so here is one of my favorite irredeemable villains, Gul Dukat. I sat and sketched him in the evenings when I’d sit and rewatch ds9. Cardassian anatomy = hard. Who should I paint next?

I’m finally back! This is the first “fine (f)art” I’ve completed from sketch to painting in about two years. It felt really good to accomplish something after so long. I’m really rusty, and since I have a toddler running around I’ve had to change my workflow, but now that I’m arting again I don’t want to take another long break.

Hoo boy, it's been a really long time since I last updated.  About 7 months ago I committed to working more on my art and updating my various social medias more often.  Buuuuut then I got pregnant, lol. I've been so sick and tired and...well...pregnant, that for the last seven months it's been really difficult to do much of anything at all, let alone draw.  My plans to paint more and get prepped for doing a web comic were all waylaid.   Thankfully, my husband set me up with a remote desktop so I can draw and paint (relatively) comfortably while I'm stuck gestating in bed.  So I'm hoping to do more drawings, finish up old works in progress, and make more submissions before I have my baby in June/early July.  Wish me luck!

Hello ! I'm sorry to bother you, but I had a question about digital watercolor. I'm trying since a lot of times to work like that, but i gave up because I couldnt find the help or the "master" that would inspired me, and I finally find out about your work ! I have only one question, if it's ok for you to answer it. When you start to colorise everything, do you make all your flats colors "even" ? I don't know if I have to let the transparency or make it full opaque. Thanks for your time =)
Hey no problem. I use solid colors or gradients as a single layer in multiply mode. I apply a mask to that layer then paint on the mask using varying opacity.

So after struggling and struggling with sketching and drawing the prologue for the web comic I’ve been planning for the last half year, I decided to simply scrap it and take a stab at it from a totally different angle.  That’s a good thing, because in just a week I’ve made more progress than I have in the last six months.
If you’re stuck, sometimes it’s important to just blow everything up so you’ve got a clean slate to work with.

As promised, here is the painting process for Leon in Photoshop, sped up by about 3000%.  If anybody has any questions about my process please feel free to ask. I’m no art expert, but  I love to help out other artists in any way I can when I can.
