when naming fairy characters, one might automatically think to go with nature themed names: Leaf; Daisy; Moonlight; etc. but one must also consider that those names are so common it’s like, the John Smith of fairy names. there’s like five other Leaf’s in every graduating class. one must think about the fairy parents who want to name their children something unique and exotic, maybe even something human, like DVD, or Windex, perhaps even Motorcycle

#I mean we humans certainly have named kids after things like 'Sky' and 'Sapphire' because we see those as beautiful blue colors #so why wouldn't a fairy see the shimmering bottle of cleaner in someone's windowsill and think. ah yes. the beautiful blue of Windex? #This is hilarious and I would definitely read a story in this world 🤣 #fantasy #writing #humor

Assume you need to get the spelling at least somewhat close, and if a character has multiple names, only one counts. Also, if a character doesn't have a canonical name, I'm sorry, but "that guy's wife" doesn't count.

For reference, if you can name the 9 members of the Fellowship, the eponymous Hobbit and his 13 dwarf buddies, 3 prominent women, and the guy who runs the Rivendell B&B, that's 27 characters right there. And you probably also know the name of a dragon.

Varian 💙

Nothing more than a drawing to appreciate my boy, because this dork is still so much my favorite and comfort character and I felt the urge to draw him happy. 🤗 Not even kidding, when writing, I tend to write from his perspective more, because I feel like I can relate to him even better than Lashanie–my own OC. ówo Which is kinda funny, but also makes sense, ig. I often say I created Lashanie as someone I'd like to be friends with. So I gave Varian the kind of friend I wish I would have had back when I went through a lot of bad stuff. . . Anyway, enough of my oversharing.

Varian is a good character and I had a good time drawing this, and I hope you'll have the same, looking at it. 💕😉
