Long ago, Zhongli's days off could be summed up in a couple of old-fashioned words: wake up early in the morning before the entire city of Liyue did, admire how the glaze lilies closed, and then wander aimlessly until the hours were consumed. To finally start a new day following his usual routine.
But that everyday life had been lost over the years, when an unpredictable and somewhat catastrophic element was added to his life, although it's not like he has any complaints about it.
After all, he had been able to fulfill a wish that he never believed he would have, one that he treasures today as the most valuable of relics.
“Hey… hey, are you asleep?” Zhongli heard above him, the cheerful voice that whispered, along with the little taps that he felt on his cheek made him open his eyes with the drowsiness still preventing him from fully understanding what was happening. Once his eyes adjusted to the daylight he could find (Y/N)'s small face looking at him curiously and warily. "A letter arrived, it's from the traveler!"
They kept talking in their animated voice, not caring that Zhongli straightened up on the bed and grabbed them under the armpits to sat them on his lap while he was still trying to fully wake up.
“It wasn't for me, but I read it, sorry. I tried to wait for you to wake up.”
The smile that Zhongli showed was faint and kind, the one that the little one in front of him reciprocated after his hand combed through the messy strands of their hair, still with the imprint of the pillow being the usual morning hairstyle.
“Good morning.” He said, a greet that was also a reminder about what are you supposed to say before starting a conversation. (Y/N) let out a nervous chuckle, noticing their mistake and correcting themselves, but Zhongli just shook his head and let them be, regardless their mistake. “I see. What does our friend has to share this occasion?”
He asked, getting out of bed and ready to start a new day.
(Y/N) told their interpretation of the letter, the parts they had understood were nothing more than ‘fun facts’ from free time of the traveler’s journey, leaving aside everything that contained a word they couldn't understand and some times making Zhongli stop halfway across the room, not understanding the context of what he was hearing and needing a second to think before keep going.
“They also said that they are coming for the next Latern Rite!”
“Then we shall make them company this time and make sure they have a great time as well.”
The rest of the small home was sunk in the silence of the morning, barely broken by the sound of the people on the street filtering through the window. Zhongli's cup was full of tea and (Y/N)'s glass had the safe amount of milk with honey. Almost looking like they weren’t drinking an insomnia remedy as they kept talking without pause, still full of energy.
Zhongli held the letter in his hands, catching on to the message and subconsciously smiling at the words. It wasn't anything serious, it wasn't an emergency either, and the very news filled his chest with relief. But in the midst of his happiness, the child’s voice was heard again, asking a question full of innocence but that made the heart of the old god tremble.
“Am I old enough now to go adventuring with them?”
He had a bad habit of forgetting, or even ignoring, the fact that the life in his care was affected by the passage of time unlike his own. He was supposed to already know that, that he had already psyched himself up about it, that’s why he signed that specific contract a couple years ago. Even with those painful clauses that were brought with it.
He can’t just imagine the day when their life ends, for The Seven! He didn’t even have told them everything about his past self! Why should he be worry now about that cruel event?
You couldn't blame him for feeling that way, from one second to another his mood had plummeted and now his face had returned to the usual stoic and enigmatic face. Without giving a clue about his true emotions, in turn causing confusion in the young one in front of him.
Zhongli shook his head, returning a smile to his face.
"Certainly you are close to being old enough to do so." A huge smile of excitement could be seen on (Y/N)'s face, but Zhongli had not finished speaking. He stood up from his chair and took the opportunity to hold the kid in his arms. “But let’s think for a second, time is what you have the most at the moment, from where is the rush to experience everything that life has to offer at such a young age?”
“But… !” The little one stirred in his arms and looked from side to side, trying to find a good argument to fight back. “And if I showed you that I'm ready to go on an adventure, would you let me go?"
Negotiations are something you'd expect from anyone who was born from Liyue, but Zhongli's surprise was more at the situation than at what he was hearing. He pretended to be interested in the bargain that was being offered to him, closing his eyes to appear as if he was meditating, and then he spoke again.
“Mmmh… Alright, I’ll hear what you have to say.”
"If I defeat hilichurl by myself!" They threw their arms up, their small face showing apparent bravery.
“For that you would have to be able to pick up a weapon by your own hand first.” Their eyes widened, as if they hadn't thought about it before, so their voice returned to a normal volume.
“… A mitachurl?”
Zhongli again pretended to consider the options before answering.
“I have to admit it. You are a difficult negotiator, it’s quite clear now."
(Y/N) laughed, and before they could argue any further they heard a stern and annoyed voice barking orders just a few feet outside their home. Both of them looked out the window, finding a novice worker stumbling and dropping a bunch of pages that went flying into the water.
“Ouh..." They turned their gaze to Zhongli, who was still attentive to what was happening outside. (Y/N) was almost afraid to interrupt him, but they considered that their question was really important. "Are you going to work today?"
"Actually that’s not the case, unless the director calls me on an urgent matter, there isn't much for us to do today." And he wasn't lying, there had been times when the flamboyant Hu Tao had requested his presence to check things out at the last minute. Times when her calls were so inconvenient that he even ended up taking (Y/N) with him. Repenting later when he realized that they had copied habits and phrases from the director, a true nightmare. “Is there something you would like to do?”
"Can we go fly a kite?" They asked, with a spark of excitement in their expressive eyes, almost begging for an affirmative answer that Zhongli did not hesitate to give.
"It sounds like a plan to me." He said, letting go the kid from his arms. "Find what you need to leave, in the meantime I will write a response for the traveler's letter."
"Okay!”
They ran out of the room and only their short, quick footsteps could be heard across the room. Instead, Zhongli only had to look inside a specific drawer to find the stack of blank sheets of paper and the inkwell.
Words weren’t difficult for him, he always found the right ones to express himself and not cause unnecessary misunderstandings, but this time he felt a bitter taste in his mouth. There were so many things to talk about but there was no way to fit them all on one page. All his vocabulary had gone flying away just like the documents of that young man who had stumbled.
Greetings are important, goodbyes are unnecessary. Perhaps that's why he's always had trouble ending his cards.
Zhongli sighed, putting down the brush and looking out the window again. Peace could be heard through the wind.
He didn't want to ruin the beautiful day that he had in front of him with that melancholy, they didn't deserve it either. But he suddenly found himself in a dilemma, being disturbed again by the memories that always came back at the most inconvenient moments.
“Found it!” The man gasped slightly at the unexpected call of the child who was standing in the middle of the room, being back from the ‘treasure hunt’ and holding the kite above their head. "It was under my bed."
"About that, (Y/N)" Zhongli interrupted, catching their attention. “I just remembered something, do you mind if we go somewhere first? The possibility that the wind will be stronger there at this time of year is quite high, you will certainly be able to play without your kite getting tangled in any trees.”
There is a second message in those kind words, his smile was not the typical one and it had a shadow of nostalgia and sadness behind, but (Y/N) didn’t catch the radical change in the mood and only nodded at him, with a huge smile that they expected to reach the man in front of them.
➷➹➷➹➷➹➷➹➷➹➷➹ ➷➹➷➹ ➷➹➷➹ ➷➹ ➷
The area beyond permitted to mortals is separated by little more than a natural barrier, wide open fields stretching down the valley to Minlin. The wind is cleaner than anywhere else in Liyue and there is nothing that dares to break the harmonious silence of nature.
It’s not exactly the place where you would take a child, the paths are poorly marked and it is normal that there are bandits hiding in every corner, but that only applied to conventional people. And that was precisely what Zhongli wasn’t.
Leading (Y/N) by holding their hand and repeating to them one of his favorite stories is how the journey turns at least at little more interesting than if it were just mountain climbing in silence.
Mt. Aocang is a place that seems isolated from the passage of time in general. The water is always clear and clean, and everything is always where it should be. Perhaps it was the work of her guardian, or maybe it was just nature itself swaying the peaceful scenery, but one thing was for sure: the feeling that the landscape conveyed to Zhongli was as painful as it was comforting.
“You think Cloud Retainer is at home?”
(Y/N) shyly hid behind Zhongli and whispered every word, seeking safety even if it wasn't necessary.
“Hmm? Why do you ask? You don’t like her?”
"… she said the drawing I did of her looked primitive."
Their voice trembled and then hid their face against the dark clothes of the person in front of them; the shared memory of an even younger (Y/N) and inexperienced Zhongli summed up the Adeptus being quite critical about the doodles of a human child. He also remembers how long it took him to calm down (Y/N), who was close to developing a trauma if it wasn't for Ganyu's help at the right time.
"And do you know what that word means?"
"No... but it sounds mean.”
“There, there.” His eyebrows curved slightly and he gave a half smile, it seems that the damage was deeper than he thought. “Go play around for a while, I'll be in the center of the pond, don't worry." Zhongli pointed to the stone table under the big tree and then patted (Y/N)'s head one last time before starting to walk.
He was going to continue, but a hunch made him look back again, almost as if a paternal instinct told him that something was not right. The little one was holding the edge of their shirt with one hand while the other clung to the kite, there was an anxious expression on their face, as if they wanted to say something.
“Is there a problem?"
(Y/N) looked down to their feet.
“I wanted… I wanted to play with you.”
Sometimes Zhongli was surprised at how direct and expressive they were for a child of their age. He was proud, he would never deny it; you could feel it in every word he used to describe them, but also he feared that a day when he would belittle their emotions without noticing.
“…I see, thanks for telling me.” Zhongli squatted until he was almost at their height, the kid came dragging his feet on the ground and with a sad expression still on their face. “Remember that time when I told you that there is a time and a place for everything?”
“Mm-hm… ”
“Then you will have to forgive me, but there is something I need to do now. However, this doesn't mean that I won't join you in a while, you think you can start without me this time?” (Y/N) nodded, eyes lost and looking at the ground.
Zhongli's apology was as genuine as the guilt he felt in his chest, reaching behind the small head and leaving a short kiss on the top as an silent apology to right after stand up again.
“Well then.” Zhongli couldn’t help but tense his shoulders when (Y/N) almost stumbled after running away to find the right place to catch the wind. A weird feeling igniting on his chest, perhaps the instinct of a worried and inexpert father. “And don’t play near the edge!”
“Okay!”
His footsteps are silent, almost completely erasing his presence with each meter of distance he traveled until the huge shadow of the tree crossed the silhouette of his. The leaves fly and dance in the wind before landing in the pond to become tiny drifting boats that float to and fro.
In the background he can hear the whistle of the wind itself and the adorable expressions of amazement of the infant each time his kite was raised. His past and his present coexisted in the same space, it was a strange calm that was fascinating.
In front of him is nothing but empty space, his amber eyes are closed and his concentration is entirely on his breathing. Deep, slow, controlled, but a part of him was ready to react if necessary.
He felt his body relax under the warmth of the sun, there is no worry, all the problems of the world had disappeared and only the memories that he treasured so much remained.
Until they were stained red, and a terrifying image invaded his mind followed by the dark melody of chaos coming from the horizon.
He opened his eyes again, feigning serenity, but the frantic beating of his heart could not fool anyone. Zhongli was enveloped by a nameless symphony of emotions, and for a moment he wanted to leave everything behind.
“Hey… you fell asleep?… ”
But he can’t. Because there is someone who needs him more than anyone else in the world.
“I wasn’t sleeping, but I do was dreaming.” Zhongli didn’t immediately turn towards them, he imagined the expression of curiosity and concern on their face trying to understand what was happening, so he took his time to answer. “You're back sooner than I expected, did you find something interesting or did you get tired?”
“Yeah, something like that… ” They paused, thinking about all the words they needed before talking again. “Uhm… would you be mad if I accidentally tripped and fell into the water?"
“Huh… ?” Zhongli finally relented, genuinely confused by the question and turned to his right. (Y/N)’s clothes were soaked as was their hair, surprisingly only from the front, making it clear that their question was, actually, a confession. “Oh dear, what just happened?”
“… I’m sorry.”
(Y/N) was sniffling and keeping their eyes on the ground to not shed a tear, but now that they were in front of Zhongli they actually felt afraid of his reaction.
“There’s nothing for you to apologize for. Come here.” Zhongli took out a handkerchief from inside his coat, and then opened both his arms to invite them to come closer. Him giving them safety words to show them that he wasn't upset, also complimenting the fact that they didn’t cried after falling and had gotten up on their own. Without caring that his clothes ended up wet as well. “You just need to be more careful next time, understood? Let’s hope you don’t catch a cold.”
“I don’t like how medicine taste… ”
“I know you don’t, dear.” They frowned and squeezed their eyes shut as Zhongli wiped their face clean, holding back the urge to sneeze. "There you go.” (Y/N)'s clothes hadn't been completely cleaned, some mud stains had soaked into their sleeves and the rest remained damp, but that was what they could do for now. "Are you going back to play some more?"
Surprisingly (Y/N) denied.
“Then would you like to sit here and rest with me before we leave?”
They meditated a bit, an exaggerated ‘mmh’ coming from their throat.
“Yes please."
Zhongli wasted no time lifting the child from under their arms again and helping them sit on his lap. A hand holding them from behind to give them support and the small figure of them leaning against the man. Their big eyes dart around the table, looking curiously but not asking a single question about the utensils near.
Somehow, they knew that it was not right to talk about it.
“Wait, I got something for you!” (Y/N) reached into the pocket on the side of their clothes to find the mysterious gift. And their very enthusiasm caused Zhongli to laugh heartily. “Here, here, give me your hand!”
Zhongli was expecting a withered flower, an oddly shaped stone, he would have even expected a piece of wet wood. But, against all odds, (Y/N) handed him a small creature that writhed uncontrollably.
Slimy texture and squishy exterior, just the sound the creature made trying to escape was enough for an unpleasant memory to well up from the bottom of his mind. The smell was odd as well, no wonder why it had captured their attention.
“It's a tadpole! If you put it in water it turns into a toad!”
He swallowed any hint of displeasure at the creature and could barely control the shiver that ran down his spine. The person who always had something to share was gone, and now there was only the speechless Zhongli who couldn't find the words to deal with the situation.
“… I see, it’s a lovely creature indeed, quite fascinating… ”
Maybe that was his punishment for his past crimes, not having enough courage to break the happiness that could be seen in (Y/N)’s eyes, condemned to be in charge of a child who was interested in the most peculiar (and some times disgusting) things of the world.
But that didn't stop him from taking the first chance he got to throw the tadpole over his shoulder, using the excuse that it had slipped from his hands and relief he felt that (Y/N) hadn't saddened was immeasurable. Managing to quickly change the subject.
The sunset arrived, and with it was the time to go back home. Both were exhausted, wishing that they hadn’t to leave that natural peace. And yes, maybe the trip was long and difficult, but they could agree that the view worth it.
A few days later, Aether and Paimon were reading the reply to their last letter before going to bed, taking longer than usual due to the extension of it.
Three whole pages telling about things that had no relation to each other, but the way the elegant handwriting shared space with the small drawings on the edge of the pages it was easy to guess the reason why it was different from the last time.

Arataki Itto & Male! Reader
Summary: Where reader has a little brother who is always bullied by a “annoying tall person”.

Sorry for any mistakes! This is just a brainrot, don’t mind me-
➷➹➷➹➷➹➷➹➷➹➷➹ ➷➹➷➹ ➷➹➷➹ ➷➹ ➷
The towel on the edge of the tray was damp, but quite dirty after enduring tons of ash, even so you used it to remove the new batch of bread from the oven in front of you.
Fire is dangerous, it's something you learned over time after earning all those burn scars on your hands, and for the same reason you made sure to be extremely careful once you moved your face away from the smoking oven.
“BAKER!”
Was the war cry you heard behind you and the loaves from the tray flew off to finally fell to the ash-covered floor.
What a waste…
“AHHH!!-… rataki!?”
“I see you forgot today’s fight, so I’m here to take you there!”
“… Fight-? Eh?! Wait, Arataki, I’m working!”
And now, you may wonder, how a simple son of a family of bakers ended up involved with the terrifying leader of the Arataki gang? This questions cross your mind as you are being practically kidnapped by Itto when he started walking away from your family’s bakery with you on his shoulder.
And to know the answer to that is necessary to go back in time a couple days ago. When your life was still peaceful and simple.
Everyone has heard about the exemplary son who was the eldest of the children of that couple of bakers. On how you could always see him with a bright smile while he takes care of his younger brother and how he’s always helping with his family's business.
Or that’s what everybody says about you, in fact, you don’t really consider you anything special. Always calm and friendly to everyone, avoiding problems and fights as well. Quite a contrast because they use to think that you have a Vision after looking at your burn scars in your arms. Nothing like that, you don’t have a flamboyant ambition nor a strong spirit.
Just a happy baker who’s always taking out of trouble his little brother after a prank goes wrong.
“B-But you have to help me! He’s always taking all the buns you give me for lunch!” You heard at your right side while kneading. Hands and face covered with flour as well, that’s why you can do nothing when your little brother starts pulling your shirt.
“Nao, I don’t have time for deal with something like that. And please, I’m working, move aside a little or I’ll hit you with my elbow by accident.”
Naotoku does as you told and take some steps away to reach a chair to get up to your level. Still begging for help but from the safety, where your extreme movements while kneading can’t reach him.
“Could you at least come with me and show your scars? That’ll scare him away!” You left the dough rest from it’s suffering a little to put your hands at your waist. The disapproval is visible in your face.
“You know these weren’t made from fighting.”
“But he doesn’t know that!” You sighed. “Please, (Y/N)!”
Maybe you’re a little too much diligent with your priorities sometimes. But for your defense, you knew nothing about who was this tall and annoying person who’s always messing with the children of Inazuma.
Your brother avoided giving some specific and really important details about him, so you went blind to the place where him and his friends usually hang out.
“Fine, but you’ll have to talk too, got it? We won’t start an arguing just for some buns.” The bright smile of your brother turned back into a face to show how he was about to complain. His short arms rose to the air just like in a riot.
“Eh?! But we’ve to make him apologize! He said your bakery isn’t a big deal! And you’re the best baker in Inazuma! Let’s make him beg for his life!”
“… You’re quite prideful, aren’t you?”
Is just a kid who is some years older, you thought.
He only appear when Yoimiya isn’t playing with them, the most logical explanation you had.
A simple bully, maybe a rude child, even the idea of your brother being a little dramatic was acceptable.
But when the robust silhouette of the oni man covered your shadow you could not help but remain speechless in his presence. Playing cards with a group of children and having in his possession all the bets and prizes. At his right was the paper bag your little brother declared stolen a day ago.
A Vision user but also the leader of Arataki gang.
H-Ha… ha, ha… yeah, let’s just plan this better for other day. A step back, then another. You need to put in order your peaceful speech techniques before actually making a confronta-
“Hey! I brought my big brother as I said!” Yelled Nao, revealing you without a single warning.
Itto looked upon his shoulder to find the origin of that well known voice. The bakery kid was standing in the middle of the road with both hands in his waist, chest up and furrowed eyebrows. Next to him was you, an older guy who shared a lot of features with the kid. It was easy to know you both were family.
Itto stand up, leaving his hand of carts and not caring about letting go a good set.
“Hah! So you were serious?” He said, with the energetic voice oh his. You couldn’t explain the way his spirit was as threatening as admirable. And yet you couldn’t help but to noticing the pair of horns and the rest of marks on his skin, with a strangely satisfactory feeling in your chest because of the symmetry.
Then you realize the situation, slowly feeling the panic crawling your back.
This is a misunderstanding, you shouldn’t be there, you have a lot of orders to bake, what are you actually doing? You have never been the type who help with conflicts, you just avoid them-
“Yes, I was! And he doesn’t fear you! Right, (Y/N)?!”
“Nao!”
“But it’s true! You said you didn’t need to fight, that only your words were enough to beat him!”
He totally misunderstood everything you said.
“Is that so?” You could feel his eyes on you, judging, maybe laughing about the idea of someone like you challenging him. And, of course, you were speechless and nervous enough to counter back. “Why don’t we hear it from him, hm?”
Come on, just say something. Anything is useful.
You don’t understand why you feel so nervous, his very presence is overwhelming enough to paralyze you. How can those kids mess around with him nearby?
For someone who never usually gets into trouble, it’s difficult to reach his level only in a quiet battle of eye contact. But what are you supposed to say anyway? Asking him to stop taking your brother’s lunch? Give him also some bread as a deal to stop bullying your brother?
Your mind is in blank. All your thoughts ran away with your courage long ago.
“Well, I’m waiting.”
While all the kids were expecting from behind there were only one who jumped in the middle of the arguing, the same who started everything in first place.
Your little brother came to rescue, don’t worry!
“E-Eh… L-Leave him alone! He knows if he talks to you it won’t work because you ain’t smart enough to understand him!”
“Hah?!” Itto turned to his side to find you little brother, surprisingly Nao didn’t step back as the oni got closer to face him. “What a pair of siblings, one can’t say a word and the other needs to learn when to shut up.”
What was he about to do? You thought, witnessing how the world seemed to move slower as Itto’s hand was on it’s way to your brother.
Is he going to hit him? For real?…
… Will he dare to?
You can’t just wait to see what he’s pretending, you just can’t stay in your place like the perfect older child of the bakers you were.
Somehow you manage to get out of that strange trance just for your body to react on its own. Taking Itto's wrist and stopping him midway, still looking down at the ground instead of his expressive eyes showing surprise.
“Please don’t touch my brother.” You said, in a voice as boring as it was authoritative, just trying to control your nerves, and failing when the oni felt how your grip became doubtful.
Hmm? What’s that on your arm?
Burn scars?
Oh, so you have one too! Things just keep turning more and more interesting.
But wait- do you really thought that little moment of braveness was enough to defeat him?
You were not even close.
Itto easily broke your grip, taking so steps backwards that you used to pull Nao behind you.
“Pff, even if you were shaking as a frightened cat you still dared to stop me.” He said, hands in his hair and mocking you without even looking at you. “You got some guts, I have to say.”
“…”
“So let’s deal with this as we are supposed to. You don’t mind, do you?” You kept silence, taking another step back and still protecting your brother. Even if all your body and mind were begging for running away.
“…”
“Hah, that’s what I thought.”
Tomorrow, same place, same time. He said.
Don’t try anything bold to avoid your encounter, the all mighty boss and leader of the Arataki gang has eyes everywhere!
Your only option is count down the time you have left before next day arrives!
Good for you, actually.
It only takes some hours to prepare your secret weapon.
➷➹➷➹➷➹➷➹➷➹➷➹ ➷➹➷➹ ➷➹➷➹ ➷➹ ➷
The other part of the story is a lot more interesting! (even more adding the fact that Itto always tends to show you as a coward in his version, so this is the moment when you always get revenge on him).
Back home, with a mind full of ideas and paranoia is how you get to work. Running around, tripping over the furniture and forgetting where each ingredient was, until you finally managed to put your plan in order.
Nao is about to cry and apologize for getting you into a fight, but you told him to believe in you.
His big brother always has a solution for everything! And that simple spark in his eyes gave you all the strength needed to finish a whole batch of one of your specialities.
“I know I said you’re the best baker but… what are you going to do with this exactly?” Questioned Nao.
“You’ll see.”
Both flat and fluffy breads, with a characteristic dark brown color on one side and a lighter one on the inside. The smell of freshly baked bread could make you forget all your troubles, you might be able to completely relax until you fell asleep, but you knew it wasn't time to slow down. You quickly took the bowl that I had set aside and began to fill the bread with that reddish paste of a sweet nature.
Put everything inside a simple bag and we’re done.
Somehow you weren't scared, on the contrary, you were eager, excited, to get into a street fight? Not exactly, but rather because you would test yourself, your spirit and your pride, your sense of responsibility had led you to that situation, and right now you had forgotten that you actually had the opportunity to get rid of that problem by calling the authorities.
There you were, same place, same time, things like the weather or your work schedule were meaningless. Itto was messing around, thinking in loud how you probably were hiding and begging for mercy.
Then you appeared, accepting his challenge.
This is what was he talking about! A real men fight against another Vision user! You think you’re so cool hiding your Vision? That just because using pyro you are stronger than him?! Come on, baker guy! You’ll have the honor to be Arataki Itto’s rival for today!
With your brows furrowed because of the determination igniting on your chest and with a paper bag in your hands, it's how you kneel silently in the middle of the field.
With subtlety and discretion you take your hands to rest on the ground and then press your forehead on the dirt as well. Asking for forgiveness and leaving an excited Itto by his own, the one who was already in a defensive pose for a long time.
Wait, are you kidding? After all he said, after all his jokes?! Just for you to do that!?
You can’t be that boring, for The Seven’s sake!
What a waste of breath-.
“I deeply apologize for what happened yesterday. It was not my intention to offend you, I beg you please accept this as compensation.” You said, in your typical muffled, serious voice, pretending so well that Itto had no choice but to listen to you. “I don't expect this to fix the mistakes my brother and I made, but I hope it helps show my honesty.”
The oni remained silent, trying to understand what you were trying to do. There was no one else nearby, so the idea of a surprise attack didn't seem to be what was happening. Were you actually serious? Is that all you’re going to do?
Itto thought for a few seconds, and then he let out the most dramatic of sighs.
“Tsk, give me that!” He took the bag from you and opened it without thinking twice. Soon there was a perfect bread on his hand, just taking one second to look at it before biting without hesitation. “I guess it was my fault for expecting too much from just a baker after all.” With his mouth full and his spirits plummeting, he had no choice but to accept the snack that he had somehow just won.
He has to admit that at least you’re good in what you know best. It’s actually really tasty. Feel flattered! Arataki Itto just complimented your skills!
But then an unpleasant sensation made him cough, the itching in his throat and the discomfort in his nose forced him to stop eating and he soon noticed his eyes filling with tears from the irritation.
Wait- is this…?!
“What’s the problem, Arataki Itto?” Your voice doesn’t react to the pain of the oni, in fact it seems to completely ignore this, by finally looking up from the ground and facing him after he knelt down from weakness is how he noticed your simple and polite smile, the same that somehow has a threatening aura. “… You don’t like dorayaki?”
“U-Uh…?”
Wait a minute.
Wait a minute.
Wait a minute!!
“Oh, my bad.”
Erase that smile from your face!
For real! Stop it! You’re creeping him out!
Was this your plan the whole time? Weaken him and finish him off when he couldn't defend himself? Thousands of thoughts came to Itto as he tried to speak coherently. It made no sense, not in the least! Had he lost already with just one move?
You stood up after letting go a long sigh, tucked your sleeves and admired his gaze full of discomfort from above. Perhaps you went a little too cruel to him.
“… I’m sorry, but I needed to properly talk with you.” You said, removing the evil facade before continuing. “I never wanted to fight, neither insulting you. But I’m aware you know how kids are, don’t you? My little brother just can’t stay out of trouble.” And, after that, you took a little bag from your pocket, handing it over to the oni. Itto immediately recognized it as the medicine to cure allergy symptoms.
“…”
A young man, with scars on his arms and with a tired but polite smile in his face. Thankful about having the opportunity to actually be part of something as interesting as a fight, even if he gave up, even if he ran away.
Because after all, the young baker admired the lifestyle of that oni. Nobody was expecting perfection from him, and everything he did was odd and unique. Perhaps that was the moment you understand that the world is property of the ones who can go against the rest.
Itto stayed there, still questioning what just witnessed. Not sure about a unexpected win or another defeat.
And this is the part where the big and bad oni interrupted you again while you were telling the story. Slapping his hand against the table and making a new disaster when all the cards flew away.
“Woah, woah, woah! That’s not how it happened! It’s my turn now! My version is a lot more interesting!”
“Ugh, shut up! You always change something every time you tell it.” You complained, picking up the cards and noticing how now the rest of the gang was even more confused and curious than the beginning. “Last time you said Nao was a girl and that my family were miners. How you forget so much about a thing that happened two months ago?”
“Tsk… My memory is just fine, y’know! Those are just some creative licenses! Just think about it!, it would make more sense because of your scars! And not having a Vision, and-!”
“I’ll bring you coal next time then.”
The other three guys immediately counter your answer, apologizing in Itto’s name and thanking you for the bread you got for them. You couldn’t help but accept the situation, what a bad influence. But even if you think that, you were smiling behind your hand.
Everyone has heard about the exemplary son who was the eldest of the children of that couple of bakers. But the rumors about how he’s lately hanging out with those troublemakers of the Arataki gang were more interesting to hear than the good things. Not even mentioning the fact that you created a recipe of oni-friendly dorayaki or that the decorative buns with the shape of a oni’s mask were very popular between the children.
They are always talking, always hearing, and for the first time you were calm about it. Because there’s things more important than keeping the perfect image for all your neighbors, like looking after your little brother.
And now looking after Itto too. But it’s been a while since you get used to him.
Who would have say that the exemplary son was allowed to actually have friends?

Omg your chaos god reader is so good!! What do you think happens after the fight with childe??
➷➹➷➹➷➹➷➹➷➹➷➹ ➷➹➷➹ ➷➹➷➹ ➷➹ ➷
Ohgod, I just found this on the asks, sorry,,,
First of all, thank u! I’m really glad that you enjoyed the hc!
And answering to this question, I can’t really tell. Since reader could avoid Childe easily it’s probably that he never got his revenge. But there’s an anon who also requested me to them to be friends, soo…
If the situation somehow turns into a redemption arc for both (Childe and Reader) probably there would be a lot of wounds to be healed. Most because Tartaglia’s presence reminds Reader that in any moment they could lose control and destroy everything, but after a while they probably accepted Childe’s personality and -maybe- helps him to training now and then. This would end with Reader holding themselves in battle because of the fear of hurting Ajax for real.
Still I think they wouldn’t get along a lot. Reader has a lot of respect for the other deities, from Archons to Celestia, and hearing daily a human about how he would defeat every single one of them could be really triggering-
I think it’s better for both to not be near each other, or at least they could try to apologize with Zhongli as a mediator.
If somebody has an own interpretation for Chaos Reader and Childe dynamic feel free to share it! I’m really curious about this now.
Maybe I end with this conclusion because I don’t like Tartaglia at all. I have no idea (。-∀-)

Running back to the house at the end of the street like a scared child, but this time it was in the middle of the night and finding the entrance through the only window that Zhongli left open daily for them to enter.
The man found them inside his home, completely consumed by panic and terror. They didn’t let Zhongli's gloved hands reach their face after he asked what happened, instead they dropped to their knees, pleading for punishment for almost taking a mortal life, talking so fast and in such a terrified tone that many of the ornaments hanging on the walls fell one after another without control.
But just some words were needed to summon order in the place: ‘you aren’t the storm that destroys entire walls with only the will in search of a tragedy, but the breeze that cries for the coming disaster, the same that alerts and gives the world time to prepare themselves.’
And, with that, the land found peace once again.

BENNETT
First of all, how dare u
This boy already has a chaotic life for you to arrive and making it worse.
But being honest, it wasn’t intentional, just like always.
Besides he’s a kid. The chaos of a kid + chaos of his bad luck, I mean- how were you not supposed to meet him?
That day was really strange, for the very first time the chaos wasn’t attracted by you, but you were attracted to chaos. Like a moth following a lantern on the street, something that you felt like you had to do, some kind of childish curiosity that guide your way to find Bennett in the middle of his adventure.
Poor boy was charging his pyro attack to max until a barrel exploded near him, he flew in the air waiting for a rough landing before his trajectory sent him where you were standing, still looking for the origin of that uneasy sensation of curiosity.
Luckily for him you could see his shadow just in time to react. You looked up because of the strange silhouette on the ground next to you and there he was, surrounded by a cloud of smoke and fire, with his screams getting louder and louder as he falls.
You trapped him in your arms, with the situation turning even more strange when the first thing he said was “nice catch!” with the bright smile of his.
Like if his hair on fire wasn’t a big deal.
It’s raining men ig
Before you could ask anything, a crowd of angry hilichurls appeared from the same direction where Bennett came at first.
The white haired boy jumped off from your arms and tried to grasp your hand to run away together, but instead you pulled him near and then behind you before rising your hand to the front, pointing the stampede of furious creatures about to reach you both.
Not even a leaf fell from a tree before the hilichurls stopped, all of them felt your presence immediately, the primitive sensation of danger that meant a silent threat. Following the message that another camp of them told long ago, ‘get away from that stranger’.
Bennett was surprised, kind of scared at least. He wasn’t sure about how to call that feeling.
Are you a beast tamer?! Maybe an adventurer that discovered a secret about hilichurl’s behavior! Wait- where are you going? Don’t leave him behind, the doubt won’t let him sleep tonight!
You explained to him that it was dangerous for both to be near each other (more dangerous for him than for you), still you needed to get away. To protect Bennett and the other adventurers that were exploring nearby.
But why? He was so excited about meeting someone who could react that fast and precise! Like the heroes in the legends!
Please show him your ways, he’s begging you, how can you be rude to Bennett? That literally illegal.
When he heard that there was a God of Chaos exploring all over Teyvat like an errant he connected two points (even if there wasn’t a single thing to connect in first place).
You’re like him!
Hello ?? You’re literally ?? the most qualified to be part of Benny’s Adventure Team ??
Negative plus negative is positive, isn’t it? Maybe if you roam near Bennett his bad luck can collide with your chaos to neutralize each other!
You told him that you were leaving after that short conversation, but in reality you just hide from his sights and followed him from behind.
That kid really put you on your nerves, running into danger without knowing. Was that what Zhongli have to deal with every time you visit Liyue?
The old man really deserves an apology.
You’re not doing this an habit, of course not! You’re the all mighty God of Chaos, the ultimate troublemaker! How was even possible to think about wanting to protect a human just because he has bad luck? That’s ridic-
“Watch out!” You had to abandoned your hiding spot to reach Bennett again, pulling him away from the place where a bunch of hunter’s traps were. “Barbatos, why all your children have to be like this?…” You whispered for yourself, actually waiting for a answer, maybe a little too much because you didn’t free Bennett. His feet were just barely touching the ground.
“Oh, it’s you! Hello again!”
Enough of babysitting, that’s it, both of you are heading back to Mondstadt. This boy is a danger for himself, who allowed him to be an adventurer in first place?
After abandoned him in front of the city’s bridge you turn back to the forest, believing that it was the end, even if in the process your chaos took the life of some pigeons nearby.
Next morning you were sleeping peacefully on the branches of a huge old tree, feeling the wind of your bard friend greeting you from the distance.
Then a storm started out of nowhere; your fault.
And almost immediately you heard a cheerful voice below you, calling your name like a lost child searching for their parents.
As Bennett climbs the tree to talk with you a lightning strikes near enough to make both of you jump because of the surprise, falling from the branch and meeting each other on the mud below.
“Sorry, my bad.” Bennett and you said at the same time, to later laugh because of that.
It seems that both are more alike than you would expect

TARTAGLIA
How do I explain that this guy already knew about you-
As you may suspect, yes, his only reason of wanting to meet you was to fight you.
The first step for taking the thrones of gods is beating one of the youngest, isn’t it? It would be a good start, and you’d be also one of the best opponents he ever fought! The only thing still needed was a way to make you accept his challenge.
Tartaglia’s first try was by attacking you without hesitation, not even a warning, just shooting an arrow for behind and waiting for you to counter. And yes, that didn’t go as planned, the rope of his bow snapped even before aiming.
It wouldn’t be that easy, the distance is always boring for a fight, why not just attacking directly?
Because you learned from Morax that you must not hurt mortals; the reason of your trip was for appreciate the human’s life, to understand why you exist, to have a reason to not end with everything that crosses your path.
To convince yourself that you’re not only destruction.
But it was hard to stay calm if he constantly provokes you to fight back. Always dodging, always running away, always breaking his weapons.
Barely holding yourself to not to break his Vision at this point.
Dodging one of his attacks again you ended up on top of a nearby structure by the side of the road, watching him from above and begging for him to stop for once.
Tartaglia clicked his tongue in annoyance, you would escape again. He was as sick as you of that senseless hunt. Maybe was the stress what impede him to think wisely, because his next strategy was like a death wish.
The water blades disappeared from his hands and, for the first time, he had a casual talk with you. Smiling and waving his hands to look relaxed.
Then he mentioned the incident with Osial, a event that almost became a tragedy. And the only reason you knew about that was because Morax told you about it, about his contract and the reason why he left his position as an Archon the next time you visited him.
It was your fault, isn’t it?
“… what?”
"As you heard! The conditions for summoning Osial was ideal, bringing back a sealed god filled with hatred and hungry for destruction couldn't have been possible if you hadn't been around Liyue that day.” His hand lifted to pointing at you, also smiling as your expression turned into a concerned one. “Oh, our God of Chaos, you were successfully satiated as the catastrophe filled the ocean! Bring us back the destruction, because it's the only thing you ever knew!”
He was obviously just mocking you, but still Tartaglia managed to actually make you think about it.
Your fault. Your chaos.
And even with that, Rex Lapis didn’t seal you or tried to eradicated you like the burden that you are for every nation.
It’s just a matter of time before you destroy all humane existence when you get bored of your fantasy of not being a spirit of chaos.
An infinity of negative and dark thoughts began to fill your mind.
It was sad, it was so sad that the erosion already began to have an effect on you being so young. You were afraid, you were concerned, the stress ate you inside while you tried to convince yourself that it wasn’t like he said.
Your mind collapsed, and you left the wrath take the control for the first time in centuries.
A fight? That’s all he wanted? Easy, that’s easy, just kill him and everything will end. His annoying voice won’t torment you ever again, his words won’t hurt ever again.
It’s easy, so easy. Mortal life is so easy to end.
He’ll defeat the gods, he’ll take their thrones and will witness the world’s end in the final battle he planned since his first encounter with the traveler.
But that day Tartaglia noticed the difference between your strength, it wasn’t huge, neither significant enough. But you were stronger, and it’s well known that wrath and despair can provide extra energy when it’s needed.
The perception of time disappeared, the world did too. Nature, men creation, everything will succumb against chaos, existence itself will be reduce to ashes.
That’s why you exist, to make sure there’s not too much heroes trying to make the nations a boring place. You just need to accept it!
But…
‘There’s no other way?’
The question sparkle inside your mind, bringing you back out of nowhere. There’s a lot of irregularities in the ground nearby, the land was broke for something that impacted with an inhuman strength, even the structure where you step on top was gone, just the remain of a building was left.
And your hands were holding something bland and soft, the warm sensation on your palms and the strange movements caught your attention to look down. Your hands were strangling Tartaglia.
From the other side his hands were trying to remove yours, his strength was minimal, not even able of closing his fingers around your wrist.
A expression full of pain and regretting of his decisions, question by question filling his mind while the air became harder to get.
A broken bow, his Vision has been thrown away. Now it was a human versus a god.
You took a step back, afraid of what you were about to do. You have to stay calm and quiet forever? To prevent catastrophe, to bring peace to mortals? Who’s the one you have to blame for creating you? How you could think that coexisting with humans was possible? Even if you say that you don’t want to make any problems you would stay near them.
“Just… leave me alone.”
Was the last thing you said, a whisper that wanted to apologize for a whole eternity, a regret that couldn’t be forgot. And then you left that place, escaping one last time.
But wait for him, Tartaglia thought, he didn’t need your compassion.
Sooner or later he would have his revenge.

SCARAMOUCHE
Finally! With Shogun Raiden’s gnosis on his possession and the all mighty hero of Mondstadt weakened there’s no way things can go wrong for him!
A little delay in his plans, but still a smile remained on his face. Kunikuzushi couldn’t wish for anything else right now.
But you already know what is going to happen next.
In this world exist Murphy’s Law?, because anything that could go wrong went wrong after he claim for victory. Even being far away of the factory it seemed that the karma reached him immediately.
He just got his guard down for a couple seconds, and then, whoshh. Now you see it, now you don’t. The gnosis disappeared from his pocket, not here, not there. The annoyance filled his chest and then a irritated growl came from his throat.
What in the world happened?
Scaramouche looked to a huge tree in front of him, and there you were. On your favorite place to sit, above from everyone else in a branch. Holding the gnosis as the board piece it looks like, playing throwing it up a little and then catching it again and again.
Who you think you are to act that carefree on his presence? If you wanted to die so bad then you could just have asked for it.
Even if he called you and made a question first you counter it with another one, what was he doing with that thing?
You were sick of those who defy the gods thanks to his ‘workmate’.
Scaramouche ordered you to give him the gnosis back, threats and insults came out from his mouth as a distraction; in reality, he was just ready to set the first hit from behind.
But something made him stop just in time when you talked again.
“I don’t care what you are planning, but if it involves the ones who I’m in debt with, you will surely fail.”
“Another clairvoyant? Hah, your type are more words than an actual subject matter, but I have to admit it, they’re also very skill to escape.”
“It was a warning.” You said, throwing again the gnosis, this time to his direction.
Scaramouche reacted in time to rise his arms but in midair something caught the chess-like piece before his fingers. Surprising him again and making the irritation event more unbearable.
It was a tanuki. The same that looked behind a second before running even deeper in the forest.
The chaos isn’t necessary a huge disaster; a little accident, an inconvenient, a failure, it depends time and place to be considered like a catastrophe.
Scaramouche had a killer gaze just for you in his face, in respond you smiled at him, then covered your mouth with both hands to fake surprise.
“What a shame! Better luck next time, gods defier.” Your laugh could be heard all over the woods, like a spectral echo that chased him his way to get back the gnosis.
He got it back after a few minutes of a stressful walk through the forest, found the tanuki dancing on a stone before disappearing again. When he got closer he found that piece, making sure it was the real one and not just another trick.
The following days he received endless reports of Fatui soldiers and entire camps being reduced to rubble aside lost or destroyed materials; it was a higher level sabotage done by who they said was someone of relatively young appearance in strange clothes, the one that enjoyed staring at them until something goes wrong.
Nobody could defeat them, not even get closer. And with that, Scaramouche knew they were talking about you.
Was that what you meant with “warning”? Who are you exactly? Not even holding a Vision, how could you… ?
A quick order was enough to deliver him a book full of ancient legends, part of the Fatui private collection. Texts that were lost and the world had forgotten, his only hope was that you weren't exactly mortal, and if that was the case they could take advantage of your nature.
Hah, he found you.
God of Chaos, a body sculptured by the blood and bodies of the ones who died in middle of the wars. At first they were just a being full of anger and affinity for taking the life of every living being on earth, until the same hand that created them gave them a human heart of their own. Made without any prior basis, without being the remains of the deceased. Something one of a kind, the mortal heart of a god.
When human emotions filled the vessel they were released into the world, to mourn over the spilled blood and to know how everything of their existence originates. Born from the red that stained the fields and being the bud that seemed withered, the same that now has the deepest roots ever found.
Hmm, that brings back some memories…
But hey, that vital energy could be useful.
Don’t be surprised if one day you wake up chained and feeling dizzy as Scaramouche drains your life. You know what? Just wait for it! Running away as you did with that idiot won’t work this time.
Every possibility can be foreseen, every inconvenience can be solved. And if you think that you’re an exception then you’re stupider than you look.
➷➹➷➹➷➹➷➹➷➹➷➹ ➷➹➷➹ ➷➹➷➹ ➷➹ ➷
GANYU
Bold of you assume that Zhongli didn’t introduce you to everyone the first time you travel to Liyue.
The difference between your meeting was that it had to be really short. Ganyu is always busy so you couldn’t know her better before her duty called for her again.
Obviously you heard a lot of stories of her childhood thanks to Cloud Retainer. The day she knew about it Ganyu avoided you, next week she apologized with you about it. It was very rude, please pardon her.
Such a big sister vibes ngl
An Adeptus working that hard to human’s matters. It was so cool to follow her from a significant distance to see how was her routine.
If you could only live that peacefully near humans without causing any problem! What a dream! The envy was killing you.
Ganyu didn’t mind about you stalking her, the feeling of a companion was always present and she also knew that you had to keep some distance from everybody to not cause any accident. She appreciated your consideration.
Until a soldier from the millelith arrested you for harassment, wait- you’re innocent! Don’t get closer, hold on! Hold on!
The handcuffs broke almost immediately, though.
When Ganyu resolved the misunderstanding she hold your hands to apologize again, it had to be really stressful to be aware of any chaos you could create accidentally.
What if you… wait for her on the surroundings of the city?
Please, she have a lot of work, don’t interrupt her, she’s begging you.
Ganyu thought you heard her request, but she knew that you were just hiding when a window opened out of nowhere and a lot of documents flew away in the room.
You appeared hanging upside down from the other side of the window, jumped down and entered to pick up the documents. You hand her over all the pages and then you leave through the space on the wall.
“… I’ll be in Huaguang Stone Forest… ”
“Thank you.”
Even though you both agreed that you would return to the stone forest, she couldn't help but feel guilty as the hours passed, did you feel like a nuisance? Maybe she should apologize. Again.
When another successful day at work ended, she realized that repeating the same words over and over was not the best way to show her regret. That’s why a better idea formed in his head as she approached the abode of the rest of Adeptus.
Ganyu found you being scolded by Mountain Shaper for unintentionally releasing the trespassing intruders along with other creatures from their amber prisons.
After rescuing you again, she was able to propose her idea to you. With a calm and charming voice she asked you if you would like to learn about Liyue's traditions from the human perspective.
Sure, Zhongli could tell you about the beginning of traditions and festivities, but the way to celebrate them and pay tribute to the Adeptus was something that only a person who had lived among mortals for years could explain to you.
Your eyes shone in gratitude but no words really came out of your lips, kind of embarrassed you said some nonsensical things and then another amber cracked when you brushed its surface.
Mountain Shaper kicked you out without thinking twice.
But hey! The next day your classes on Culture from the Mortal Perspective began! A quick but calm walk through Liyue that got spread when a bunch of kids recognized you.
How could they not remember the person who plays with them every time they get a chance?
Ganyu sat by the side of the road on an empty bench, watching you scamper the children who seemed happy at your mere presence. Like the occasional accidents of a child, the curious and outlandish nature cannot be controlled, only accepted.

CHONGYUN
Don’t move! The future best exorcist in the world, Chongyun, will put an end to your legacy of misdeeds and pranks! No evil specter that causes bad luck will survive to-!
Just by lightly tapping with your fingertips you were able to break the seal of the talismans that surrounded you out of nowhere. Pushing back the boy who was convinced that he had beaten his yang.
how dare u interrupt him.
Another of Xingqiu’s pranks? Isn’t this going a little to far? He hadn’t learn about not believing everything his friend says smh.
Let’s just mess with him a little.
‘Measure your words, human. In the presence of the God of Chaos, the first thought that should run through your mortal instinct is to beg for your life, since those who dare to defy them will be punished and displayed as a trophy in the infinity of the abyss from which the catastrophe came out.’
You took a few steps closer to him, while Chongyun kept backing away. The scene was so dramatic that you had to stop when the boy summoned his sword.
Haha jk, nice to meet u.
It's nice to know that there are still such dedicated exorcists out there.
But wait-, so you're not an evil spirit? A God? Why is there a god causing accidents all over Liyue!? That makes no sense! If you think you can deceive him by pretending to be a deity then he shall punish you severely for disrespecting them!
After a detailed explanation of your identity, Chongyun's mood plummeted again due to another failure as an exorcist.
He sat silently on a rock and remained silent, his expression showed so well his disappointed that it made you feel like it was your fault.
Ohno, a sad human child, your weakness-
At the end you sat next to him to listen to what he had to say.
Did he really want to see a spirit so badly? Those things are horrible, wearing strange clothes and yelling all the time, buagh! The thought of it gives you chills. But there's nothing you can do, after all they are drawn to your chaos.
When you finished talking so indifferently about what you lived through from day to day, you looked back at Chongyun, finding his expressive eyes filled with astonishment and disbelief.
Are you a magnet of evil? Chaos and destruction? Demons and spirits alike appear wherever you go?
Then you stopped him, it wasn't something to take so lightly; there’s also the chaos of the butterfly effect, natural disasters, unforeseen events, influencing the mood of evil people, losing your favorite pair of socks-
But you attract spirits, right!? You have to help him! How can you say ‘no’ to that face?
The next day he took you to one of his commissions as an exorcist, a house that had numerous reports from its previous tenants. He stayed outside and asked you to come in first, obviously you refused, if your chaos broke something inside you would have more problems besides the ghosts of the house.
He insisted a little more, it worked. Now you were waiting to feel the presence of some spirit trying to attack you. You could feel it, their energy was spread throughout the building, but still there was no movement. Neither hostility, neither terror, just the presence of a soul.
When it was Chongyun's turn to enter you explained this to him, his yang was also easy to perceive, you could describe it as a blizzard in the middle of the storm. But despite this, that presence didn’t react to his energy, nothing changed.
Then you understand it, your energies neutralized each other. Your chaos and his yang ended in a stalemate that went nowhere.
“I was really hoping to see an actual spirit and not only stay still in the middle of the entrance… “
“Well, I can still curse you. Want to try?” Chongyun crossed his arms, annoyed for your jokes.
“Maybe I should exorcize you instead… ”
“Ohh, so the little exorcist wants a deity to be his personal dummy? Let’s make a pact then. Promise me your soul.”
“I-I thought you said you weren’t actually a demon!”
When you stroked his hair he couldn't help but think about how much he still had to learn, so much so that even the gods were taking pity on him.

Heya! Can I request an Aether/Lumine & reader?
So reader is basically an immortal half-elf who've lived for centuries and a well refined fighter. Well at the beginning even tho they volunteered to tag along on traveler's journey to find their sibling, reader is rather obnoxious and a lazy-dork who only help when actually needed. But as the journey continues, they began to act like traveler's bodyguard after witnessing (archon quest spoiler!) traveler almost getting killed by the Shogun? And maybe random shenanigans happen between them (ft.Paimon). I don't mind if you do either Aether or Lumine if you feel pressured 🙏
Hi! This kind are my favorites! Tysm for requesting! (๑>◡<๑)
I did this with Aether since he is my favorite is who I chose, and I feel more comfortable writing with guys than with girls.
I know they have some different personalities but I can help but see Lumine as the all mighty abyss princess.
Hope you enjoy!

Aether always thought that immortality brought with it wisdom, beings who live for much longer than an ordinary human tend to gain an understanding of life and changes in the world after years of appreciating the passing of the ages.
But when he met you he couldn't help but feel that all his beliefs were based on fiction and old rumors from other worlds. You were anything but wise, not even his first choice to be the voice of reason.
Even Paimon takes her role as his guide seriously.
But what was so wrong about you that get him on his nerves all the time? And most important, why does is he still dealing with you?
To be fair, maybe he was waiting a little too much from you. After all, he always forget that you still have half of a human’s nature.
“Mmh? What are you doing?” You asked Aether the first time he removed your hair from your ears to see if they were pointy. They were, and Paimon yelled kind of a objection when she realize she had to pay for losing their bet.
Not a human, not a elf, but a hybrid between them.
The first encounter was really something he would never forget. Rumors about treasures and requests from the guild made them follow some clues to find a cave that was marked as lost, impossible to enter and explore.
But “impossible” is a word that doesn’t exist their vocabulary. Yet is common that regretting comes along when you’re that bold and risky.
At the very end of that strange cave there wasn’t a treasure waiting, not even a new clue to keep going with the mystery. Instead, was a humanoid silhouette, they seemed to be meditating, not showing a single interest in their voices neither getting nervous because of Aether and Paimon taking some steps forward to have a better look.
But they were breathing, and both could see the pupils moving slightly under their eyelids. Eyebrows twitching now and then, like they were having a nightmare, one of which they couldn’t wake up.
Paimon encouraged him to get even closer to shake that person's shoulder, while she was hiding behind some rocks, obviously.
Aether summoned his sword and then he approached slowly until touching them with his fingertips, waiting for some kind of jumpscare.
The stranger raised their arm, carefully but also in a robotic way. Their fingers were tense, as much that it was painful just looking at them. Like a quiet call, like a order that couldn’t be heard, from the pile of rocks where Paimon was hiding something emerge, breaking through the stone and letting a rusty polearm to be seen.
Their fingers closed around the weapon, bringing them back to reality.
“Master and weapon, reunited again, rise so the world can meet their end!”
Or at least that's what he would have preferred to find. A servant guarding a lost relic, a soulless body moving by a curse, perhaps even a fate that death could not prevent.
But instead it was something really underwhelming, something that broke the mystical and strange atmosphere. That person opened their eyes, annoyed by the light of the torches and disoriented by the situation.
With their body in pain and numb at the same time, how long have they slept in that position?
The first thing they did after waking up was sneezing.
‘So much dust…’
Never accepting missions for exploring legendary caves ever again. Nope. Negative. He refuse to.
What if they find another (Y/N)? Thanks, but no. One is more than enough.
“So what you mean is that your parents' families exiled you and locked you up in the cave for being an ‘abomination’ to both species?” Paimon confirmed once the three of you were back in the surface again. Her hands moving side to side to explain -in a very expressive way- everything you told them.
“It seems that we found the remains of an ancient race that used to exist in Teyvat.” Aether said, still surprised by the way you roamed to feel the wood of the trees and the grass under your bare feet. Kind of heartbreaking.
“Like the boar we found with Xiangling!”
He wasn’t sure if it was okay to compare both encounters but he could see her point.
“… ‘Wait for us’, they told me, ‘think about your existence and find the answer to why your conception is not the atrocity that everyone says you are. May their words not reach you, because we have long ears to hear the words of the gods and not the ones of those who defile earth’… ” You pronounced after decades of not needing to use the language you were taught, with one hand on your chin and eyes closed to concentrate. All you had left was the few memories you preserved inside your mind and heart.
“With ‘they’ you mean your parents?”
You nodded.
“And what happened next?… ” Asked back the tiny companion of the blond guy that rescued you.
“I got bored and I fell asleep.” You admitted, carefree about it, shrugging your shoulders and sighing.
A total waste of your youth.
“Eh!? Then you didn’t thought about those things? That sounded important!” Paimon seemed disappointed for your answer, while Aether held his forehead, without having a clue of how he was supposed to react.
That was the day you joined their party! New team member, (Y/N) strikes in!
Or something like that,,
“H-Hey! We could use a hand over here!… woah!” The little white girl scold you but from your high sit on the top of a big rock only a exaggerated yawning can be heard. Paimon crossed her arms to almost immediately duck down to dodge a fire bullet from the Fatui. Aether didn’t say anything, he was concentrated fighting.
“Oh, yeah… You’re doing great. Go, Aether, go…”
“Was that supposed to be a cheering?!”
“Hey, calm down” You said “He doesn’t need my help. Just take a look, he’s an adventurer. If I meddle it will be really boring for him.”
“Hmp! Now Paimon believes that you were lying when you said that you were a well refined fighter!” She was floating around you, ignoring the battle of his blond friend. Like a pesky bee, the only thing you did was avoiding her furious gaze. “Don’t ignore Paimon! How can you not hear with those ears!? That’s it! Paimon will give you a ugly nickname!”
“What about ‘extinct deaf elf-der’?”
“Yeah, that’s a good one!” She agreed immediately, then she shook her head, pointing at you like a guilty criminal. “Wait, Paimon doesn’t need your suggestions!”
When the last Fatui was defeated Aether turned back to face both of you, sighing because of the new arguing between you two. His sword disappeared and some steps were took to get closer.
Your eyes met each other, a slight smile in your face after looking him safe and sound. So confident but so unaware of the remain danger hiding. Your expression became a surprised one, then your gaze sharped like a killer sight.
You left Paimon on top of the rock when you jumped down, summoning your own weapon you ran straight to where Aether was. The traveler panicked just a fraction of second before loosing sight of you.
Next thing they know was that a you were behind him, facing at the nothing with a defensive pose, just a second of silence before a impact could be heard. Some dirt and dust was lift as the pair of Fatui Pyro Agents became visible again. They stayed there, defeated in one hit.
“Like I said. It would be pretty boring if I meddle...” Aether and Paimon were shocked, none of them felt their presence, not even the heat of the pyro delusion. Your weapon disappeared in the air, and your hands rested on your waist. “Dear Seven, that was intense.” Looking at your friends you sighed, with the laziness on your body language. “It was my turn to cook dinner, right? What a pain having to eat again… ”
Acting that relaxed after that really made them went Ô_Ô and Ö
A silent speech, where devotion and gratitude are the best topics of conversation. The message that is heard even if there’s no words in between. Just a exchange of gazes. Little signs of affection that are shown when it’s necessary.
Your family was gone. No clues about their whereabouts could’ve found in that cave of where you came. Not even the skeletons of a couple holding their hands and petrified in a sobbing position. Not even ashes.
When you have been thinking about the most unimportant things in the universe for so long you can deal with the lost faster than anyone else. Getting the idea of no remain evidence of your parents and feeling that it wasn’t that heartbreaking.
Maybe because you gained a new family almost immediately.
Still you could empathize with Aether, he still had his precious memories with his sister, still remember her face and her voice. And most important was that he knew that she was still roaming Teyvat, waiting for him.
Even if they leave behind Paimon and you at the end of the trip.
Or even if they just leave you behind.
‘I’m okay with that.’
You thought, stroking Paimon’s hair when her head found a comfortable place to rest in your lap. You thought, moving your shoulder so Aether wouldn’t have neck pain. Both sleeping peacefully and you staying awake night by night.
You’ve slept enough, for so long besides.
Somehow the flames of the campfire are warmer now that you have someone to look how the fire dance in the night.

“I see, so you were serious when you told me that your companion was a mystical extinct creature, weren’t you?” Albedo’s hand went up to hold his chin, analyzing you from distance.
“They are half of it, actually.” Aether answered back, notice how Sucrose was asking you permission to check your features. The sparkle in her eyes made you accept her petition after feeling with the back against the wall.
“Your ears are like mine! Look, look!” Klee pulled your shirt, then she pointed at the side of her head.
“… Still the shape of both are quite different, the length too.”
Years of isolation really are hitting hard right now. You felt overwhelmed and somehow shy when Sucrose hold your face to have a better look.
You follow the traveler to everywhere, no matter the place, you were there. Like a shadow, sometimes just a spectator, other times like an actual active team member.
“Who would’ve tell that our Honorary Knight also has his own knight watching his back.” Kaeya’s voice has that joke but charming tone, as always.
Day after day, it’s the same, everyone talking you through Aether. Like some kind of translator.
“More like a human shield.” Your hand landed on top of Aether’s head, not agreeing with his explanation.
Bonk.
“I guess everything’s better than being Emergency Food.”
“Hey!”
“Haha! You three are quite a team, aren’t you?”
Of course you were. Mondstadt, Liyue, you name it. You could assure that every place in this two nations have at least one story about the team.
You knew that the most brave and magnificent outlander in Teyvat didn’t need a guardian, he can defend himself (somehow even if he’s still using that dull blade).
Bodyguarding also sounds like such a hassle…
You only provide a last resource help when was needed, sometimes also helping with some puzzles and mysteries.
The long eared people was known to be wise and smart people that searched for the full comprehension of the world. Also such a nerds and fans of knowledge. So, even if you considered yourself dumb, in your blood was the instinct of looking for the truth, and sometimes that impulse could be really annoying.
You were always near enough to reach him. Pulling his scarf from behind to move him away from danger. Countering after he gets hit.
Always in a place where you could reach him.
You just needed to extend your arm and you would catch Aether. It was always like this. Always with you jumping in the middle of the crossfire to shield them if it was necessary.
It’s always like this.
Until the day you three set a foot in Inazuma’s land. And a bad feeling of a imminent catastrophe made your shiver.
A new nation, a new problem to solve. But a war? Boldness and stupidity sometimes looks like the same thing, but no matter how many times you repeat this to Aether, he would still ran into problems.
And you would follow him, until your debt is paid, until his travel is done.
It used to be like this.
But then you failed him after being unable to move because of the fear that paralyzed your body. The day Aether faced Shogun Raiden in the ceremony. The day you heard the broken voice of a god inside the Shogun you also fell apart. It was painful, cruel, a void of anger and sadness.
Jumping into danger, without you behind.
You tried to ran between the goddess and your savior, you tried to get closer to at least be useful one last time as the shield you promised to be.
You tried.
But, for the first time, your hand didn’t reach him.
The void of despair and darkness that could be heard inside the Shogun devoured him.
The tears of panic and fear in Paimon’s eyes. The way the Shogun lifted her sword to end his life. The way you were paralyzed because of her presence, forced to be part of the crowd and presence his execution.
That day your facade of laziness faded away, the real feeling of being a knight burnt along your proud. It was so annoying, it was so unnecessary, but still you couldn’t ignore it.
“Are you… are you sure that you’re okay? We don’t have to find the Sangonomiya resistance today. If you need to rest then-” Your hands were shaking when you placed them in Aether’s shoulders, holding yourself for tearing up.
“We have to keep going. I’ll be fine.”
“Besides, if we stay near Inazuma this night they could find us! Paimon won’t be able to sleep like that!” Your mouth opened to counter their arguments, but not a single word dared to go against Aether’s plans.
They could see it in your face. The worry, the remains of shock and fear, the guilty.
“Don’t try to look strong then. If you get tired, tell us. I can carry you in my back.” Even if you were offering help your voice was serious, so cold but so hurt at the same time that nor Aether or Paimon knew what to said to bring the old you back.
➷➹➷➹➷➹➷➹➷➹➷➹ ➷➹➷➹ ➷➹➷➹ ➷➹ ➷
“… Aren’t you coming?” You could hear how the door was slid to let him saw you. The lighted spots on Aether’s clothes were purple, just as the lighting that almost end him. Your lips made a concerned and stressed grimace.
The young traveler took a seat next to you, outside the structure, sitting on the wooden steps and looking at the starry sky. The wind was cold but still the soldiers of the resistance were talking normally and the slight feeling of discommodity because of the excessive presence of other people was climbing up your back.
“(Y/N), there’s no need of guard us every night. You also need to sleep.”
“I'm not tired, I think I've gotten enough sleep, at least not to need it until the next century.”
Aether’s expressions went into a sarcastic one, asking if you were serious with just his gaze.
“That’s not how it works.” He said, trying to change the mood. “And if it does, then why are you always snoozing during the day in every chance you get?”
You had the answer to that, but you weren’t sure about telling him.
“Because everything supposed to be boring. Nothing really changed a lot and… looking at the familiar places was depressing.” So easy, so simple, but still enjoying the company, still enjoying the sound of theirs laughs and their own shenanigans. “… Lately, I’ve been thinking that I should not had left the cave. Don’t get me wrong, I do appreciate that you two helped me to be back at the surface, and I really want to help you on your journey, but if you still run into the chaos by own decision I think I could not follow you any longer before being a burden in your adventures.”
Overprotection, an unbreakable shield, frequently avoiding fights, always being pulled back to not be part of the battle. Enemies of the braveness of the traveler.
Worry, panic, an overreaction due to fear of loosing everything again.
‘let me do it’, ‘I got it’, ‘wait here’, ‘don’t get close’.
These day could be described like that.
“So, before I do something worse as an excuse of defend you, please let me find a cave to await. You do what’s is needed and… call me back, or leave me there, anything you think it’s better… ”
You could be pronouncing the words from the very bottom of your heart, but still your face was the same seriousness as the accident almost happened.
And even with that you felt his gloved hand removing the hair that was covering your right ear, revealing how it slightly leaned down, showing sadness unwittingly.
“Hey, cut it out… I’m serious about this… ”
“It doesn’t matter if you think that it’s the best option, you’re still sad about leaving.”
“… That’s cheating.” Removing his hand away from your hair you tried to act indifferent.
“You know the reason why we invited you to came along?”
‘You felt sorry for me.’
“I can’t totally tell the exact reason, but it wasn’t for you to pay us some kind of debt because of saving you.” He crossed his arms, looking at the stars, wondering if his sisters was doing the same. “We don’t need a guardian, we need our friend back. And I know you care about Paimon and me, but still you must enjoy the journey. It’s not fair that you are always aware of every potential danger while we mess around lately.”
An eternal silence, your response is late to appear but somehow Aether can tell that you already have something on your mind.
“Then apologize.”
“… Why?”
“For believing that playing as the hero and jumping to face the Shogun was something you had to do.”
“… but-”
Neither Aether nor you slept that night, the blonde had to listen for hours to all the things that you ever wanted to complain about since you arrived in Inazuma.
You made your position on joining the army of the rebellion very clear, you had no intention of fighting to seek "justice" or "peace". Because after all, that fight did not correspond to you, but if he asked you to, you would protect some soldiers or help to guard the barracks, if he asked you to, you wouldn’t complain about it (at least not that much).
Both had enough of each other’s attitude, but it was okay. Because that was what all of you chose in first place.

Hello! I saw request were open so i was wondering if i could request some headcanons of the Archons and/or the Adepti meeting a God reader who is the God of Chaos and destruction. The reader is not a Archon tho and travels all over Teyvat cuz small bits of destruction were ever they go. They're pretty mischievous and somewhat smug but despite how they act they're actually a good person. They dont mean to cause problems(most of the time anyways) chaos follows them were ever they go. Idk if you have a character limit but if you do please tell me so i wont make a mistake again. And if there is you can just do Zhongli and Xiao. Optionally could you make them a dendro user, there not a lot of dendro content and if not thats fine. I understand. Could you make the reader Gn or Non-binary they/them pronouns please? If not male reader is totally fine. Im so sorry for the long post and I hope you have a good day/night!
Ohmy, it’s my first time just writing headcanons! I’m use to write a lot, so let’s hope I did it right (^ ^' )7

VENTI
To be honest, he didn't notice your presence at first. He had other concerns on his mind that day to perceive the chaotic (and slightly threatening) aura that Mondstadt was infected with that day.
Barbatos is a person of habit, so he couldn't help but be curious when the crowd in front of him began to look a little agitated instead of seeming to enjoy his lyre and his songs.
But then a series of domino events appeared in front of his very eyes.
The purity of the chaos was such that he felt overwhelmed, even without the white-haired boy around, if it wasn’t Bennett fault, then how was it possible for everything to be ruined in such a short time?
His patience ended when, out of nowhere, the strings of his lyre jumped close to his face as they snapped. Making that awful noise that couldn’t mean nothing good.
Okay, enough, who is messing around in here? No more joking in his nation!
He concentrated a little, a faint but unique presence kept his nerves on edge, as if he was being watched from afar. He moved away from the busy areas and then chased that ephemeral energy to the highest point of the church, where the bells were ringing in an irregular and stressful way.
Then he found you. Snoozing against one of the columns, somewhat tired because the trip you made to reach Mondstadt.
Surprisingly, Barbatos understood you since the first exchange of words. A god of chaos who was also a free spirit, you followed no rules ever written in Teyvat, and you had no plans to apologize for the mess you made.
Both of you were Zhongli’s worst nightmare, but that’s another story.
He managed to through your arrogance and your teasing nature that you, in fact, were a lonely spirit that liked to witness the life from above of everyone.
The difference between teasing someone accidentally and committing a crime was really visible, but he still couldn't help but feel like he should scold you after your mere presence messed up with the guild's baskets full of fish.
But hey! He also enjoy the company! Venti tried to teach you how to enjoy the calm and the whisper of wind, music can also contain chaos, feelings, old stories waiting to be told again, expressions and desire united, in a wonderful piece of-
As you yawned his lyre broke up again. Making clear the message.
Okay, not even God of Freedom and Wind can control chaos. Anyways, what a tragedy, but there’s nothing a simple bard can do, smh.
“Do you like kids, don’t you?” He said once, after a nice day of hearing him sing before your chaos reached his little concert. Again watching everyone from above on the hands of the statue, with your attention caught by some kids playing tag.
“… I don’t know what do you mean.” Once discovered you had no choice but to remain defensive, pretending to be disinterested.
“Heh, you aren’t a good liar.” It may not be the wisest thing to make fun of someone who could destroy the place where you were resting, but Venti was confident that he knew you well enough to know that you were not so explosive. “You know!, I just have some pieces, but I think it’s because they are little walking concentrations of pure and innocent chaos, am I wrong?”
He wasn’t, no at all. But you would never confess something that embarrassing.
This guy wrote a ballad about the days when Mondstadt got immerse with that strike of bad luck. Kind of an apology of not being able to handle the situation.
Now there’s the rumor that says that, every time somebody sings that song, something unlucky will happen in front of you.
The song is cursed.
One night when the moon was shining on the Cider Lake his well tuned ears distinguished a melody that was broken from time to time by the accidents of his performer, distracting him of his way to look for you.
It could be painful to listen to, but Venti could certainly feel the dedication of the one who was playing the imperfect song.
The ballad of the god of chaos, hummed like a lullaby that instead of making you sleep makes you question the events of the day. Wishing for the slightest thing to be different after an exhaustive week of peace and tranquility.
A lonely spirits cursing their existence, sitting in the highest point of a stranger’s palace, where you can reach the sky by only rising your hand.
The next day, Barbatos invited you to drink some wine, this time near Windrise to avoid accidents in the city.
As he almost dropped the bottle when a lot of slimes were attracted by your presence, he confirmed the theory about that the way to spend time with you would not be his personal definition of hanging out.

ZHONGLI
Okay, there’s only two scenarios that could happened when you set a foot in Liyue.
Old man has a soft spot for you for being a relative young deity.
Or he’s always lecturing you for not having control of your aura and powers.
How u dare bringing chaos to the nation of order? It’s that a death wish?
Jokes aside, you’re not really a threat. And he could sense that after he saw how you tried to avoid having direct contact with the city. Rex Lapis found your silhouette jumping and crossing through the mountains until reaching the fairest point that allowed you to enjoy the view of the streets that were filled with life and light as the sunsets.
He even noticed how you sighed in frustration when a storm started out of nowhere. A rain dedicated just for the arriving of the God of Chaos. Not even bothering of getting shield, you stayed in your place to look at all the people who were getting back to their places.
The rain seemed to stop over your head, for a second was enough to stop you from being cruelly swamped by the very weather you had created. An elegant umbrella covered you, the long awaited surprise you expected from someone as outdated as Morax.
You looked up, and found his expression calm and attentive, watching you. As if he had made a great discovery that he could not believe
“May I have a moment of your time to keep you company? Letting out your sorrows in the middle of a torrential storm is not what I would recommend as way to spend a good day.”
“… What are you talking about? Get in your own business, old man.”
“Well, you should know that a sorrow shared is a sorrow halved.”
Next time you knew was that he was helping you to dry your hair with a towel once you let him guide you to his place.
Zhongli picked you up like a abandoned cat that day. Even if having you near meant to deal with new the roof leaks.
Also kept you away from Hu Tao, if you two ever get along for being partners in crime he would seal himself underground-
For all the time you spend exploring Liyue, there he was. Like a little kid showing his treasures. But also like a worried father looking after his child for them not to stumble making their first steps.
Look at you! Almost crushing those Treasure Hoarders when a bunch of rocks fell down after you jumped at the edge of the cliff.
Wait, no- come back here! You should verify the surroundings and be aware of the weight of your power if you’re going to explore in that bold way. You, chaotic brat.
Another one who believed fervently that your mood was to blame for the constant chaos you caused. He also tried to show you the wonders of peace and calm, teaching you how to prepare tea while listening to the storyteller (also both being a little far away from the rest of them, just in case).
He couldn’t help but sigh when the teapot arm broke as soon as you tried to serve the tea. What a waste, he thought.
You apologized to him, kind of stressed with yourself after you took all the pieces with your bare hands to run away with them. Leaving a confused Zhongli behind.
Next day you were back, with the teapot repaired and just like new.
He let out a lot of thankful words, some flattering and a lot more cheesy things that you never had received before.
With that unexpected affection you couldn’t help but react flustered; then a cat that was chasing a bird jumped through a lot of decorations and merchandise, almost starting a fire as the chained events kept going.
Yeah,, uh, Zhongli got some useful mental notes about you and your chaos that day.
Hey, before you go, want to make a contract? You won’t regret it!
But as the wandering spirit you were you had no problems in reject his offer, but also promising that you would visit Liyue if he wanted you to.
Of course he wanted! But.. maybe next time you should stay in Huaguang Stone Forest instead of roaming near the city,,

XIAO
Tried to kill you.
I mean, your aura is threatening and full of a destructive energy, how is possible that you weren’t a demon to eradicate??
Sorry, but he had a point.
Your first met was on your way to reach Huaguang Stone Forest along with Zhongli for introduce you with the Adeptus.
Xiao, in the other side, thought that you were about to attack Morax from behind, so he just struck against you. With his polearm near to go through your chest, just stopped because you felt him before.
Lifting your hand at his direction, summoning chaos, this time, on purpose. The wind gained a wrathful nature and the biggest roots that were hiding under his feet rose to caught him.
And when you were about to hit each other Zhongli’s shield appeared just in time to separate both of you. Preventing a real catastrophic event.
Now stop fighting and introduce to each other.
Nice(n’t) to meet u.
What if you tried to awake Azhdaha to bring chaos and destruction to Liyue? What if you wanted to summoned Osial? What if… ?
Zhongli had to confirm and promise to him that those cruel possibilities won’t be a near future for respecting the real reason of your travel.
No matter if he wasn’t comfortable with your presence, it wasn’t his decision to allow you to roam freely, so he had to get use to it.
He immediately knew after hearing about your nature that was your fault that lately there were a lot more demons and monsters. Even his karma was getting more painful than usual.
(If you ever meet Hu Tao, please think twice before doing Xiao a prank)
You both didn’t interact a lot, and being honest, it was better that way.
He hadn’t a single intention of talking with you again until the day you were practicing the song that your Anemo friend taught you. By the other hand, Xiao noticed that the melody had the same nature as the one he once heard before being consumed by the karma.
It wasn’t a flute, but a worn lyre that was still in one piece after weeks of being repaired again and again.
“That song… ”
“Do you know it?” Xiao just nodded, staying in silence, being your very first audience even if you still have a lot to learn about playing a lyre.
It wasn’t as effective as the original, but was still… nice, kind of nostalgic.
Next morning, the Yaksha called for you. Made you stay still in the middle of a plain and then he disappeared of your sight.
He abandoned y- wait, what’s that? Why those monsters has that weird dark aura?
You were about to defend yourself until Xiao appeared back just in time to defeat them.
That day you became his personal bait for demons and monsters. Naturally you attracted chaos, so anyway you were, there will be also something to fight.
I guess this is your way to pay for all the troubles you made for him and his duty, so no complaining about it.
If you ask for a unexpected experience to Ganyu she would said that once she found both of you fighting along against the catastrophe, looking after each other’s back and almost having a perfect synchrony.
➷➹➷➹➷➹➷➹➷➹➷➹ ➷➹➷➹ ➷➹➷➹ ➷➹ ➷
SHOGUN RAIDEN; EI
Also tried to kill you.
Well, the puppet tried to.
And then Ei tried when you had the opportunity of facing her.
But since killing a god just mean the releasing of a lot, pure, energy she couldn’t afford that risk, much less considering your “speciality”.
Who knows what would happen to Inazuma if your vital energy burst across the nation. Just like that old story about Sal Terrae and their goddess.
She just defeated you. Letting you rest and recovering in the midst of the plane of her reality within her mind. Your inert body in the middle of the battlefield as she kept meditating.
When you woke up she ignored your presence, but also denying your complaints about letting you go out back.
In her words, you were a burden, another enemy of eternity. Something as unpredictable as you and your “accidents” couldn’t get along with her utopia.
Ei could banish you from Inazuma, but she knows your type. Stubborn and not accepting the most simple orders to obey.
She knew that you would found a way to be back.
It’s better like this.
And in the hypothetical case of you being freed when she trapped the traveler (kicking you out) and then having a chance to see her again after the end of the war, then things would be somewhat different.
There’s not that much of civilization on some islands, so she allowed you to explore as much as your heart wanted. But if something serious happen, she promised that would end her work in the middle of the sea so your remains never be found.
Okay, message clear. Just do chaos near monsters and bandits, got it,,
Even if she wanted to spend some time with you and telling you some stories about Inazuma and other gods she couldn’t found the right time to call you at her presence.
As the current ruler of Inazuma she was busier than the rest of Archons you have meet. Maybe just some letters now and then like a way to keep a logbook, but not really a face to face talk.
Until she got the opportunity of a day off, just to found you messing around near some ruins. Trying to solve a puzzle before your speciality strikes in. The structure fell down after your fingertips reached the stone.
When the dust dissipated, you discovered her figure judging you from the other side of the remain ruins.
Give her a good reason for not errase you from the map, I dare u.
You felt the worst was about to come when Ei ordered you to follow her after a long sigh. Crossing her arms and starting to walk away from the bunch of old and worn rock.
Plot Twist, she actually invited you to rest under a tree, asking in her serene voice the reason for your journey and your origin. In such a direct way that it seemed more like a sentence than a talk to get to know each other better.
You answered what you could remember and then the silence stayed like the only way of interaction between you two.
Ohno, you know this pattern. Something’s about to happen-
“There is some strange beauty in the chaos, it may be the calm after the storm, but the catastrophe itself is seen as a necessary evil to appreciate the stillness. How much it would last until the lighting hit the valley?”
“So I arrived to keep order between the humans?”
Well yes, but actually no.
“… You see, if there is nothing but order and a lack of problems, mortals are likely to create them on their own. Their minds feels the need to be tested, to prove their worth, so I guess some of your chaos may be part of the history.”
“… then shall we take a walk in Inazuma?” You did not know if you were right, but you thought you saw a faint smile through his lips in the same way that lightning can be seen in the sky.
“I’ll allow it.” She said.
Her only condition was for you not to approach the huge boxes of fireworks down the street.

Razor x Male! Reader
Is my emotional stability and I decide who is my comfort character!
He was mercilessly pushed, fell, and the mud was everywhere in seconds. On his worn clothes, on his face, on his tied arms. He had no chance to complain about the pain because the man's anger was louder than anything else in the forest.
“When will you understand?!” The man asked, but it was more like a war cry. “You are a damn hunter! You hunt! We live of it and you have a stupid pet instead?!” The man lifted his foot and then stomped with all his might on the younger’s stomach, making him squirm as the impact created a excruciating pain in his body.
Behind him was another guy, avoiding the scene by looking other side, at the endless horizon.
“The wolves...” Whispered the young, having the taste of blood in his mouth, blood of his teeth. “Are protected... the knights will be a bigger problem than the mora... !” Then another kick strikes against him, creating a scream that can make hurt the throat of anyone who hear it. Loud enough to get the attention of the forest creatures.
You knew that horrible smell from the bucket they carried all way to the woods, blood, but no human, no from a wolf but from boars. The man threw the red almost-liquid content at your direction, and the pestilence became worse than never.
Your body and your clothes get impregnated easily but the annoyed expression of his face didn’t change as he opened the metal jaws of the hunt trap in-front of you.
With a effortless thought you understand what was next. First it was an apologize, but when they started walk to another direction you beg and pray for not being left behind.
But the anger get along well when you want to ignore somebody.
The iron-like flavor of blood, the awful flavor of the boar one and also the saltiness of your tears created a weird and repulsive combination in your mouth. That didn’t stopped you, you call them again and again until they disappear of your sight.
You were denigrate from human to bait.
Barbatos, all your existence hurts. It’d be better if you just pass away by the injuries. It’d be faster if you just jump inside the trap so it cut across your neck.
Red, all your body is covered in red. It’s a big contrast aside your appearance, the green of the forest make you even more visible for any animal that is attracted by the hedor.
You really deserved that much? The tears that cleaned the blood on your cheeks said you don’t. Panic, fear, anger, all it’s a messy combination of that hopeless feeling.
A silhouette appears after jumping off from the bushes. Not from the beast you thought will end with your life, surprisingly it was a person. And in some way, both recognized the figure from a human immediately.
He doesn’t attacked, you don’t screamed.
“Person... But smell is not from a person...” He said, with a lazy way to talk as his voice. His long, messy, silver hair it’s flamboyant as his clothes. Who’d be so crazy to be that deep in the Wolvendom?
He sniffed again and again to make sure, boar, and really slightly, human smell. But what happened? Why is a person tied and hurt inside the forest?
“Please... don’t do that...” You said with all your strength left with a shy voice. The odd guy touched your stomach like a curious kid would do. “B-Be careful, in some place here it’s a trap. I can’t tell you where, but... it’s here.”
Even breathing was a painful way to stay alive in that moment.
“Bad person did this? Dangerous people attack each other?” You stay silent, he meant the hunters? There’s no other group you know that dares to perturb Wolvendom.
“They did this... because I’m not like them.” His hand rises upon your face so he can rub carefully to clean a little bit of the almost dry blood. You sighed, even the slightest touch is annoying.
He’s Razor, the kid raised by wolves, the only who can understand the feeling of not being like your special ones. But your situation was worse, those weren’t special, those weren’t family or lupical, a lupical never hurt another.
Then why were you sad about not being like them? You wanted to be a bad person? Razor thought in silence couple seconds.
Maybe you had never met a good one?...
“Razor can help you.” His free hand pointed to himself, so you deduced he was Razor. “Have to move you, lupical will confuse smell with animal, we hunting now...”
“Lupical?...” He helps you to sit and then breaks you free from the rope. The problem then was the insecurity about walking by your own.
Razor noticed the fear and indecision about taking just a step, that’s why he offers to carry you on his back. Just like he does with Klee. With the unmotivated expression on your face you accepted his hand.
But before he squatted down grabbed a heavy rock that was nearby. And after a quick look he threw it some centimeters far away, breaking the trap that hasn’t the chance to activate.
Did he just growl? Okay,,,
“Wolfhook seed. Let Razor help you.” He said, having the smashed pulp of the seed in his hands, ready to put it anywhere you needed. But you pushed away his fingers carefully, shaking your head left and right to denied the help.
Few moments ago the woods looked like a tomb, the perfect scenario for a murder crime. But now, being next of the lake, with the crystalline water and the clear sky was a new atmosphere. A peaceful one, silence, the noises of nature and animals were cooing you, but it’s probably that feeling belongs to the tiredness in your shoulders.
“I don’t have open wounds, they just hit me.”
“... ‘Just’?...”
Then they have done worse things before?...
Maybe are you scary of him hurting you?
“Razor will not hurt you, I’m not like bad people.” He insisted, washing his hands in the river and shaping his fingers like a improvised bowl to carry some, he drank it and when he collected more he use it to clean the dried blood on your face.
You thank him with a whisper, for some reason you were shaking all the way there. Maybe was the belated adrenaline, maybe a cold that was on the way to attack you. All you knew was only that the involuntary moves were painful and uncontrollable.
Why is he helping an stranger? Helping one of the hunters that chase his ‘family’?
“What is name?” Razor pointed you, noticing that you were just ‘not-bad person’ for him.
“(Y/N)...” Razor snorted, proud for some reason. Maybe because you were opening to him?
Sounds weird, but you spent some days in the Wolvendom, resting and recovering, and also hiding. Avoiding the situation of getting back with the hunters.
Razor taught you how to move and hide, real hunting and also tried to teach you how to use a claymore.
But your arms, yeah... you’re weak...
Maybe you’re overthinking, but it seems like he enjoy having someone like him to interact everyday. He has friends, but like- humans, right. But they’re usually are busy exploring and fighting monsters. Adventurers, it’s the word to describe them.
You hadn’t a real plan, sooner or later you’ll have to get back to Mondstadt. Starting a new life and stuff, you supposed to be dead after all. What would be the wisest thing to do in that situation?
You got not time to react for thinking unnecessary things. To one second to the next you were tackled down, a surprise attack brought by the wolf boy who now was above you. His gaze was looking for some sign of counter, but that never happened.
“Why slow? Mate is hungry?”
“No, it’s just that you don’t play fair attacking me from the back.”
“Not playing, fighting!”
You sighed, the tired smile on your lips was like a spark in the night.
Dumb wolf boy.
You take Razor’s hands to keep free you face from his touch.
He got curious for that smile, you don’t do that often, and any time you do Razor just want to have a closer look.
You have to talk and be clear with your ideas.
“Razor, I think I’m leaving now...” He leaned his head curious before talking.
“Where? Need me to join?”
“No, no, I mean- to where my... uh, special ones are.”
“Hunters?...” As you nodded, Razor does the opposite, catching you off of guard. “Those are bad people, (Y/N) can stay!”
He says that, but can you really stay? After hunting without control, after carrying on your shoulders many wolf pups, after hiding and setting all those traps?
The guilty was eating you alive. Because you weren’t strong enough to defend to magnificent creatures. Because you excused yourself thinking that they would kill you if you say something to the knights.
Because you were a coward who now is hiding in the same place you perturb daily.
Even if the wolves are indifferent of your presence, you can’t look at them without the instinct of running away. Inside your head is impregnated the idea of wild creatures that attacks without doubt.
They said that to everyone who joined. What a lie.
“Don’t you get it, Razor?” You exclaimed, half annoyed. “Is not fair if I stay, isn’t for you or your lupical.”
“(Y/N) is my lupical too!” A growl emerged from his throat, he seems as annoyed as you.
Razor isn’t a fan of repeating things, he doesn’t like talking if isn’t necessary, so anytime he have to repeat himself for you not to feel bad he started getting tired.
You’re clever than him! Why don’t you understand he likes you being around?
Razor shakes his head again in disapproval.
“Mate is a nice person, does not belong with them.” Again, he growl, remembering how you were when he found you. That image in his head still painful to bring back. “If (Y/N) will leave, Razor okay with that... But do not go back with bad people!”
You looked highly surprised because of his words. Then you half laughed, more like a cry that you cover with your hands. And Razor’s worry was expressed he trying to take off your hands to find your face, with no results.
Why did a weird guy of the forest cared for you more than anyone you ever meet?
“What with that sad dog face?...” You respond, with a light smile on your lips. Your eyebrows were curved in sadness for some reason, but that wasn’t exactly what you feel.
Razor was happy, two smiles in one day!
“Will mate stay a little more?...”
“I think I have no choice for no- hey!” Razor’s victory was sealed when he jump on you again. But instead of a surprise attack was a tight hug.
His hair tickled your nose and his strength was suffocating you, but you let he be. Curious for why that half answer put him is such a good mood.
You had no complaints about excessive affection tho. It was comforting and also was like the peaceful feeling of being safe and being at home that you always wondered how would feel.
You hugged Razor back, waiting for him to let you go.
Spoiler, it took longer than you expected.
