Happy Easter & Domain Change Back to Tumblr Free Domain
Hey everyone!
As you know I've been posting a bit more recently between January and now. First off because Easter has passed. Happy Easter! As I missed posting, believe it or not, I did an Easter event in Second Life that is now a bit too late to talk about. But next time around don't forget to take a look at the destinations guide. They have free events, and free "shop and hops" where you can get free gifts from popular creators in Second Life. There was even an Easter Egg Hunt I took part in.
One thing I wanted to make everyone aware of is due to how much it was costing to keep my domain at the moment. I had to switch back to a regular Tumblr domain. This is something I wish I didn't have to do but I'm perfectly okay with it. As long as I can continue to write and keep up in my own space. I'm okay with the Tumblr domain. Thank you to those who continue to keep up with me and my adventures here. I know I thank a lot of you often, but without you, I wouldn't have the drive to keep coming back and providing content. So thank you so much!

Shop & Hop - Valentine's Day Event
Tumblr media
Tonight I found myself exploring the quick destination's guide and found this shopping event. Needless to say, this post is going to be rather short. I wanted to make everyone aware of it and link the location here. Most of the information is in the above graphic. However, the details are listed below:
Lasts from February 1st -19th
Features 280 merchants including Caboodle, Belle Epoque, and more...
Lots of sales on full-price items, and gift boxes at each stall that are free items the store is giving for the event.
This can be found by clicking here
Click below to view RAW photos of my avatar at the event, I felt very photogenic tonight.
Happy Shopping!

The New Age of Linden Homes Part 1
Tumblr media
Linden Homes on Second Life has advanced! They have been for a while, but almost all of their older neighborhoods they have recreated on the Bellisseria continent. Which is where all their newer Linden Homes and various neighborhood communities reside. The great change to these is from prim to mesh! This is something the active Second Life user has been looking for. There are not too many users on Second Life who are sticking to classic avatars anymore, all the avatars are full mesh in some way shape, or form. Second Life is finally playing catch up with graphics to other virtual world platforms and video games alike. It's amazing to see where Second Life started to where it has become. The only gripe I have is the Second Life economy is very much matching reality which is a little disappointing, but everything else has just been a build-up from where things were originally were. In this post, I'll be discussing the various new neighborhoods on the Bellisseria continent as well as outlining some of the new customization options for these houses and the amenities available to you in various neighborhoods.
*Note: This post will be updated with new content throughout the year before I type up a new post for 2025 to update this entire post.*
Table of Contents:
To make things easier for everyone, this post has a table of contents so you can skip to the part you specifically want to read as this will be a long post considering needing to place everything about Linden Homes in one place.
Before I Begin! - SL Advertising on Linden Homes for non-Premium Members and what they see, my gripe.
Log Home
Fantasy Home
Camper
Chalet
These are just a few of them there will be a PART 2 post due to the limit of only being able to post 30 photos per post. Which this would easily contain way more due to the content and going into detail with each Linden Home type.
Before I begin!
Since the website is a direct reflection of where you can obtain one of these Linden homes, the screen for people who are already Premium Members is fine but check this out, please view the photo below.
Tumblr media
Second Life's advertising is starting to slack and it is quite disappointing. They put real objects, instead of having an avatar and virtual pet from JIAN or something for the icon. I don't know why this bothered me but it really did. Maybe it's because I notice little details but this really got me, does this bother anyone else or is it just me? Also a real chair and plant? Why not ask a really good furniture maker if they can use their furniture as an icon on the website and provide Lindens or something? Anyway please continue with the post below.
Log Home:
For those who have been around Second Life since Premium Membership and Linden Housing first became a thing. I'm sure you remember the previous build model of the Aspen and Log Homes which can be seen here.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
These are just a few but there are a few more that were created for the region of Tahoe which is an older Linden Home sim. Keep in mind they are still offering these, but as consumers are seeing more and more of their favorite areas being recreated and different neighborhoods that weren't presented in the past being offered. More individuals are switching to the Bellisseria Continent for their choice of Linden Home and community. To be fair Bellisseria now has the Log Homes which is the equivalent to the Tahoe Region. These can be seen below.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Now as you can see they updated them quite a bit and provided other options along the way. The specs for these homes can be seen below.
Specs:
Includes 4 layout/home styles (as seen above)
Customize the home inside and out with the housing customization on the inside of the home.
A rural region that reminds you of the mountains or being out in a forest.
Railway Accessible, with a rezz station to rezz trains and more.
Various community areas, such as picnic tables, statues, water fountains, sitting areas, tubes to go down rivers on, etc. The community areas have a very similar vibe to the Camper's that were created. This region is very similar in theme.
With this in mind, it is important to note the new amount of land a Premium Member can have is 1024 sqm minimum. So these Linden Homes are on a 1024 sqm plot of land instead of its original counterpart which is on 512 sqm of land. Do keep in mind that the new standard of prims for the Linden Homes is 351 prims. This is more than enough since mesh takes fewer prims than actual prim objects. Now the cool part of these new homes is you can visit ahead of time to test out the homes and see which area fits your style more. I went ahead and did this so I could check out some of the community areas and post some pictures below for viewing.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
The sim itself is gorgeous! However, upon further evaluation, I noticed that the homes are a lot closer to one another. There are more homes trying to fit in one area. I probably wasn't supposed to be in this area either as it was marked in red with no one living here, however, I ended up here. So it is what it is, sorry Lindens. But as you can see this community is for the rural more active lifestyle, you know horses, outdoor hiking vibes, small sailboats, railroads, etc. This provides it all. There are also small lakes here and there for swimming with little benches. I didn't get a photo of those but you get the idea.
Needless to say, this was a cool area to explore, however, it definitely is not the vibe for me when it comes to living in a Linden Home community. I'm not the most outdoorsy person in RL so why would SL be much different? Ha-ha.
Fantasy Home:
Back in the day when I first had a Linden Home, I thought those were the coolest things since sliced bread and I'm talking about the old prim ones like you saw with the Log Homes above. For the longest time I had a "Fantasy Home" I had the "Wizard's Retreat" which is the Older Linden Home version of what the "Fantasy Homes" are now.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Had this home easily for 3 years before switching to Meadowbrook which was a more suburban community which we will talk about here soon. You can also reference my Newbrooke post which was typed just before this one. Above are pictures of what I used to live in.
Luckily they finally upgraded the old Linden Homes to a newer model which they put the most boring unoriginal name ever, the "Fantasy Home."
Older Fantasy Homes:
Taking a photo of them through the webpage was just a lot easier than each one individually like I did for the Log Homes, also a lot quicker so this is probably what will be done for the rest of the post so I can get this posting out at an adequate time.
Tumblr media
Newer Fantasy Homes:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I'll be honest, I'm not a huge fan of the newer "Fantasy Homes" I truly feel that the older ones looked a lot better and had more creativity and soul put into the creation of them. Granted these are just a few of the Fantasy ones but when I was going through the demo version on the "Welcome Land" I couldn't find one close to the "Wizard Lair" that one was my all-time favorite and I would still live in it today even if it is prim and not mesh. I felt with the "Fantasy Homes" there were a lot of missed opportunities due to the lack of creativity. However, not to say they're horrible. This is still a very nice neighborhood, and the weeping willow trees are my kryptonite in this area. There are mushrooms and it looks like a fairy-tale forest, think "Into the Woods" musical type of vibes or storybook cottage core vibes. That is the style you will find here.
Specs:
There are 8 home layouts/styles of homes to choose from
Just like the "Log Homes" it does have the inside and outside customization.
There are seasonal color changes
Lots of waterways that can be sailed with small boats and structures.
It's a bioluminescent region that is activated with the day/night cycle which is super cool, I think it's the best perk of these houses is the region and creativity of the surroundings and not so much the homes.
The community areas are spread out and there aren't too many of them, I was able to cross by three out of all the sims I visited that are in this theme and I think I went to almost all of them, that was a little shocking and a bit disappointing honestly. I was hoping there would be more community areas for people to enjoy.
It's important to note that you quickly find out which Linden Homes are going quickly now, they can be seen from the website when you're picking out houses. Needless to say, these Fantasy ones aren't going very quickly with that information as you may. I'm a little biased though when it comes to this one, so take what I say with a grain of salt with this one. I'm just salty they didn't recreate the "Wizard's Retreat" that's all.
Campers:
I'm not going to lie, again I'm a bit biased. When the Camper's first came out the first thing I did was get one. I abandoned my previous land to pick one up. My main dream for some odd reason in RL is to buy a tiny home, deck it out from the early rococo Victorian times on the inside travel the United States and beyond, and just keep moving. Can you tell I'm a very adventurous but introverted spirit? Needless to say, things worked out a bit differently for me. That didn't mean that in SL I couldn't still live this dream. How unoriginal the name is "Camper" but that's okay because aside from various campers and trailers there in fact are two kinds of tiny home layouts which I loved!
Camper Examples:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
These are just some of them, the "tiny home" I had was gorgeous similar to picture #2 but WAY nicer. So definitely check out the demo if you get the chance over at the "Welcome Center" in Bellisseria.
However, the region and community areas are a bit underwhelming in my opinion. I feel there could've been more community areas for a "tiny home" like community. Especially since in RL in "tiny home" communities, there are a ton of amenities like pools, a cafeteria area, a clubhouse, etc. So I guess I just expected more and didn't find it. However, one of the really cool things when it comes to the community areas is I did find a picnic area in my sim, a few sims over there was a gigantic lazy river with inner tubes that could be used, and there were a few rezzers here and there for horses, cars, bikes, etc. So it had a nice amount of areas and things to do, very outdoorsy and very similar vibes to the "Log Homes" but, again I feel in a sense this was a little bit of a missed opportunity. I loved this theme though because it hasn't been made previously. This is specific to the new Linden Home era. I thought adding "tiny homes" to the mix is great because some people even in SL want to have that small footprint and enjoy their time exploring SL and getting to know their neighbors and community. This can be exceptionally true if they live in a tiny home in RL and recreate how they live in both worlds and believe it or not, there are players like that. When I first tried out the "Camper" Linden Homes, I was still living at home so I also thought this was my only option as a Millennial struggling with all the other Millennials, Gen Z, and Gen Alpha to have some sort of good living.
Specs of These Tiny Homes Include:
8 layout or home styles to choose from
Ability to fully customize the inside and outside of the home like the other mesh homes.
Each has an open floor plan
The parcel size is small it is a 512 sqm parcel which means it doesn't use all of your 1024 sqm. This also means if you wanted you could buy a 512 sqm plot on the mainland to have for yourself at no extra cost so you would have two places that would be yours. However, the thing with buying the mainland is your bidding for it and it's luck of the draw. If someone outbids you you're not getting it and you do need to shell out money upfront to get the land and then it's nothing afterward. That's just a little explanation of how that works.
Access to community areas, a lot of this was explained above.
Secluded rural area
I like how far apart these homes are from each other, there's a decent amount of space and it doesn't feel like everyone is on top of each other. You actually have space to decorate your outside as you wish. That's the beauty of these "Camper" style homes. It's a small inside but the outside is where the magic happens with these!
Chalet:
Ooo fancy schmancy! A chalet, this a very Tudor-style neighborhood. The style is very similar to the "Fantasy" homes so I'm not going to go into too much detail here as it's almost exactly the same. It's so similar that not even the website provides a lot of details to make people want to move there. At the time of this post, there is an availability of 2,564 available. However, it's important to note, that I love Tudor-style homes, They remind me of Old France, sometimes Germany, and just little peaceful places you know? I associate Tudor homes with peace.
Chalet Examples:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Specs:
8 layout/housing styles
Full customization of the inside and outside
One word, MOUNTAINS, mountains everywhere!
Traditional and open floor plans depending on your needs and how you like to decorate.
Like I said there's not too much to report with these, I haven't ever thought about owning one, and they just don't WOW! me. It doesn't have that WOW! factor, which honestly that's okay not every Linden Home will be everyone's cup of tea and this one and the "Fantasy Homes" just aren't mine.
Final Thoughts on PART 1:
Due to the amount of images and content, I had to break this up into two different posts. Part 1 and Part 2. I go into very close detail and do the exploring to provide you the information to make informed decisions if your planning on getting the Premium Membership and obtaining a Linden Home of your own, or you're looking for a change and not sure which one to pick and move too that fits your style. I wanted to make sure I went in-depth with each and everyone, hence the content being on two different posts. This helps me too though because I haven't posted content yet this year except for my Newbrooke review which is where I currently live. Please go check out that post if you want to learn more about the Newbrooke homes and community. With that said, the ones I did cover were underwhelming such as the "Fantasy Home" and the "Chalet" I wish there were more to them and there just isn't I feel like even in some of the others I covered such as the "Campers" and the "Log Homes" there were a lot of missed opportunities to really sell the Premium Membership through the Linden Homes. However, I do love the "Campers" as I remember having one. So I'm a little biased, and in the past, I remember having a home in the Tahoe region originally and loving it, I like the new "Log Homes" there are just other Linden Homes I enjoy a little more. I feel each place has something to offer, and they're really branching out with styles. I feel Linden Lab is really providing a wide range of homes for all types of people from all walks of life, and that's how a business grows from its consumers. Diversity, providing what the users want, and various ways of style. Please stay tuned for Part 2 where I will be covering the rest of the homes seen here:
Sakura (1024 sqm)
Sakura (512 sqm)
Houseboat
Stilt Home on Land
Traditional
Victorian
The Newbrooke Homes can be seen in my review that was previously posted. Thank you for sticking around and Happy Linden Home Picking!

New Year = New Linden Home - Happy 2024!
Tumblr media
Hey everyone! First here is to a late Happy New Year 2024! I know we're in February, but it's so crazy how 2024 started out in January. Imagine, natural disasters, the beginning of a World War, Great Depression 2.0 (because we have the internet), and let's add a possible Civil War into the mix. But with all the craziness happening in the world I find myself on Second Life a lot more than I was last year with how crazy my life was. As a lot of you know, I had a houseboat as a Linden Home, during this time apparently they added premium tiers that weren't there, changed the pricing, and added more types of Linden Homes. Talk about mind-blowing. Just like most who are neurodivergent and ADHD I like consistent change within environments in my games, I'm very nomadic in a sense with my virtual life, especially within virtual worlds. So to explore and have a new place to live, I tried out one of the new Linden Homes released (emphasis on new because they probably have been around for a bit but I've been so busy I didn't know they were added.) There were eight left of this specific type of home.
To see which one I got and where I now reside please click below to continue reading.
Newbrooke
For the sake of being able to have another idea for a new post, we're going to keep this one primarily about the Newbrooke community of Linden Homes in Second Life. And now you know! I live in Newbrooke, a very modern, quaint, housing community with a lot of amenities, community areas, and things to do. Not going to lie this area reminds me a lot of The Sims 4 for some odd reason. I love the modern design of the homes in the area, there is a 512 sqm version and a full 1,024 sqm version for those of you who don't have the Premium Plus version of Second Life Premium which I don't blame you at all for not moving up to the highest tier (more on that in my next post). I got super lucky with both the name of the sim as well as where my house Is actually located. For those who don't know, the name of the sim you're placed in and the location of your house are all randomized and based on which ones are available for inhabiting. When a home is not available it just won't show on the website when you choose a Linden Home.
Since my last interaction with my Linden Home, they have updated and upgraded them with a new in-house system allowing you to have full customization of your home inside and out. They are premade colors, but I'm sure there is at least one color that would tickle your fancy, if not then probably shouldn't have gotten the Newbrooke home style. It's important to note that every Linden Home has a different set of colors for the outside and the doors, as well as any metals or accessories on the outside of the home.
You have the option with the Newbrooke homes of choosing up to 8 layout versions, a few of these versions can be seen below. Ahead of time, these photos are from the Linden Lab website which they use as examples but I'm going to post them here for the sake of the post and for easier viewing.
Examples of Newbrooke Homes:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
There are so many ways to customize these too, these are amazing compared to the old-style Linden Homes, this was the upgrade to the original homes found in Meadowbrook that are all 512 sqm. At the time 512 sqm was the most amount of land and Linden Home space you could have. Oh, how the times have changed! It's crazy to actually see the change from one form to another. Keep in mind the older homes in Meadowbrook are also Prim and not Mesh whereas the new Linden Homes found on the continent Belisseria are all Mesh.
Examples of the Meadowbrook Homes For Reference:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Now with these examples out of the way, let me show you my home and what I have done with it where I ended up being placed, and how close everything is. I'm not going to lie, I feel like I never have to leave my Linden Home community because everything to do now is pretty much right there, or at least all the things I enjoy going onto Second Life for.
My Newbrooke Home Placement & Experience:
Tumblr media
This is the front of my Linden Home, I know super modern, brick, black, and light blue, I think it's gorgeous and really goes with who I am as an individual. I love it so far, but I also truly love the modern style of homes.
Below are pictures of the location and why I love it so much. To give reference to what you're looking at, I'm at the end of a col-de-sac and there is only one other house on the right-hand side of me. There is one on the left-hand side but they're a little further from me, so I don't count that. But right next to me there is no one, it is very private considering.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I was extremely excited and lucky of where I was placed, the sim name I have as well is called "Prince Charming" which I thought was really cute and fairy-tale themed, all the other sim names I haven't been too lucky with. I'm extremely thankful for all of it, and I honestly don't think I'll want to leave unless I decide to go up a Premium Tier which right now I just can't do for one of the new 2,048 sqm homes and parcels.
Why I Love This Area so Much:
Now is the why to enjoying this area so much, the name and the col-de-sac are great! But you see in the ariel view where the water is right behind my place, that's a rezzing dock for boats. It's a 20-second walk to rezz my boat and go sailing around Belesseria. I got the houseboat for the reason that I could rez my boat, keep it at the house and sail whenever I wish. The fact that I can pretty much do the same it's just not already at my house is amazing! Then not too far to the left of me where that road is, is also a rezz station for vehicles, horses, etc. This is so convenient and I haven't had both rezz stations so close to me before with a Linden Home, this is an amazing location. I'm so very fortunate for it. A long time ago I did a post on the positives and why you should get a Premium Membership and obtain a Linden Home I will be typing an updated post soon on that. However, for someone who has been a Premium Member of Second Life since the Premium Memberships even released, I can easily say Linden Lab is doing an amazing job with updating and keeping the excitement with why we should be members with amazing spaces and amenities like in Newbrook.
Final Thoughts On Newbrooke Linden Homes:
These homes are amazing if you like modern-styled neighborhoods and still want that suburb feel. If you're into the whole family RP on Second Life this would be a perfect place to have a family, it's also perfect for just living and experiencing a great amount of what Second Life has to offer in a secure, safe, area without having to travel to far off places in Second Life. This is however not to say that you shouldn't still go explore here and there. I feel Second Life is meant to be explored and experienced. But if you're new and need to learn the ropes and are nervous about being around a ton of people, or you're tenured and just want more of a private space and area that is less club, shopping, or non-trolling related. This is a great place to be! There's a lot you can do and since Newbrooke is a newer-made area other people who live in the houses around are typically there so it's not a dead sim where you're the only one there at all times.
I hope you enjoyed this post and I'm sorry it took me so long to post something. Between life getting in the way and MAJOR WRITERS BLOCK I took the longest writing hiatus ever. Please stay tuned for the following posts coming soon.

Spiralo - An Immersive Adventure of Creativity and the Mind
Tumblr media
As many of you know, I love art and museums. In real life, you will find me at one once a week. I find it essential to be cultured in the arts and find solace in others' imaginations as it sparks the fire in our own. Sometimes when we feel lost or the imagination just flops we just need that little source of inspiration and art in many forms can provide this. A lot of the time museums are free, especially in the virtual realm. In virtual world platforms like Second Life immersive galleries and immersive pieces where you walk through an entire artistic story are prevalent but underappreciated. So many users buy a piece of land and then let their imaginations run wild and create amazing experiences for the community.
Tumblr media
One place I've found in my recent exploration is Spiralo. Now at first sight when seeing it in the destination's guide the photo that was advertising it didn't seem like much. But who am I to judge a book by its cover, it's all about the adventure. So guess who hit the teleport button anyway? You got that right, me. I want to tell you about this immersive gallery and some of the things you might be able to experience on your trip to Spiralo.
What Is Spiralo?
Tumblr media
Spiralo is an immersive art experience inside of Second Life. This art installation is a cultural complex by the noise-classical music project Tia Rungray. The entire space includes a sound installation hall, a gallery, a cafe, and a shopping floor (I have yet to find the shopping floor after exploring for about an hour, I found everything else!) The staircases are in a spiral hence the name Spiralo and this is symbolic of incorporating the image of everyday life and art and blending it all together in virtual life.
The Sound Installation Hall:
Tumblr media
The sounds provided in this experience are quite relaxing, a lot of thought was put into every note and really immersing the user in its surroundings. I highly recommend exploring this space in first person through Mouselook as you will be able to see everything through the eyes of your avatar as if you were actually there in the space. You can find a tree upside-down with squares floating around it and a piano at the bottom. It really does feel like something you would see in a fantasy setting. It almost felt like magic. The really cool part about this room in the installation is the fact that the floor mirrors and reflects the objects. This is something that Second Life doesn't have the capability to do which means the creator made it match up as close as possible and made their own texture to mimic a mirrored image of what was going on above. That way it simulates a reflection, that right there is true art on its own! It's very hard to do this. It was my favorite part but let's also not forget about the Cafe.
The Botanika Café:
Tumblr media
On the very ground level, there is the Botanika Cafe, this was very tastefully made and honestly reminded me of a rainforest with vintage aesthetics. Very bohemian for sure! It was very relaxing in this space and it made me want to sit there as I typed this.
Tumblr media
Specifically at a table that looked like my current workspace in the real world (picture below for reference).
Tumblr media
I always type and do everything creative on my IPad Pro 2018 12.9 inches. So being able to see my current setup in a virtual setting seemed more than a coincidence. Either way, I was here for it. I also find myself at Starbucks and little hole-in-the-wall Cafe's a lot to write and drink coffee at the same time. Perfect would be the word for this setting. Sadly the drinks aren't interactive but that's okay, as I was typing I was drinking a boba tea and I just so happened to have one in my inventory to attach.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I will definitely be back specifically for the cafe portion as it was a very peaceful section and I felt immersed it drove me to create more posts than expected as I was there. It's crazy just how much a virtual world can feel like you're going through real-world experiences. This proves the aspect that virtual worlds are more than just a game it's an experience on its own.
Statues and Gallery:
Tumblr media
You know around every spiral staircase there is either an art piece or a statue. These statues are amazing! 3D models, in general, fascinate me, but imagine you see a stone statue in vines inside a gallery. Anything can happen in a virtual world and it just amazes me the creativity the creator had to produce these and place them in random spaces. It made me want to find all of them, I only found 2 but I have a feeling there might be 3-4. Also, there are gallery images on each staircase you go up or down, I really enjoyed looking at all the artwork here. I do wish there was more as sometimes there was just a lot of white space for one piece of artwork and I would've loved to see more!
I didn't post everything because it wouldn't be fair for me to spoil this adventure for you. This is an amazing venue to take a look at and you would be supporting a local artist in the virtual world community. I'm a huge advocate for small businesses, artists, and creatives in virtual spaces. I highly recommend the visit there is something to explore behind every corner, literally.

Jasper City Luxury Estates - Hop or Flop?
Tumblr media
From estates to rent to a beautifully made modern-day oasis city I was able to find everything I'd need to feel as if I was a modern-day princess living in luxury (no pun intended). Let's be honest, some places are still not made with new mesh objects in Second Life, and some of the best places are still prim-based. It was nice to find a city with the aesthetic I love. Everyone's style is different of course! However, if you're looking for modern-day Miami Beach or California vibes, this is the sim for you. I spent about 2 hours exploring it and finding some of my favorite things to do and explore in it. I recommend the visit, visiting places is free so why not right?
Visit Jasper City Luxury Estates by Clicking Here
They also have their own website you can find it here.
In case you needed a view of me living my best virtual life please see the below photo taken here in this sim.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
In case you didn't know where you were please look at the above photo.
Where it all Begins:
It all begins when you step foot in front of the ginormous sign, telling you exactly where you are (thank you gigantic sign, I had no idea.). Then you have two pools in the front, not quite sure why there are two with little to no traffic especially at around 10:48 PM EST, but who's counting? (just me?) No, but in all seriousness, this is a very well-put-together city sim which honestly is hard for me to find nowadays. I was rather astounded by what it had to offer aside from trying to get you to buy into their luxury estates.
Pools with butlers? Check.
Tumblr media
High-end luxury eateries? Check.
Tumblr media
High-end luxury housing and galleries? Check.
Well, that seems to be all the main things you need in a city right? But let's not forget about the rideable Ferris wheel which sits over a body of water.
Tumblr media
"The Good Life" - Luxury Restaurant:
But wait! I have to talk about the luxury restaurant, now virtual world restaurants are a newer experience for me. Especially after my ex and I went to one before, it was such an interesting experience. We all know it's pretend but there's something about the Roleplay experience that is so much more, but more on that on a future post. The luxury eatery on this sim is called "The Good Life" very much a fitting name.
Tumblr media
When you step foot here let me tell you, you're truly living "The Good Life" (thank you restaurant, now tell me something I don't know). From a full bar with a bartender looking like he's about to make you a whole line of cocktails and a waitress ready to sit you in three different areas of the restaurant, each area is a different and luxurious experience. Now do keep in mind there aren't real people running it, but nonetheless, it's a nice touch and nice to see!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Upstairs in this restaurant, there is a sitting area as well as a YOGA studio, how nice. After you "pitch till you win" (eat) you can relax and work it all off. Beautiful! Now you don't have to worry about your virtual body losing its already perfect physique.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Luxury Estates:
Of course, there are also their luxury estates and there are a lot available currently. However, to be fair I never recommend renting off a sim, it's nice if you enjoy the Roleplay way of life and enjoy a place that is part of the aesthetic your looking for that matches the idea of the sim created by its creator. However, if you want to make it authentic and yours and not have a specific house then I always recommend buying a plot of land or finding a way where you can rent from a friend who has land and do your own thing. That's not to say you shouldn't tip the sim to keep it running. I think it's a great place to hang out with friends, explore, and live the luxury lifestyle in your virtual life.
In conclusion, I feel this sim is perfect for exploring, photos, and just spending a day in luxury taking everything in. It's nice to be in a place that gives you the luxury city experience. There is a lot to explore and it's overall just a great place for some friends and yourself to spend some time and relax. I highly recommend visiting.

The Enchanted Library
Tumblr media
For those who know me I'm the most significant book worm and my love for poetry keeps me looking for more regarding the written word. As an English major who graduated with an English Language and Literature Bachelors in 2019, this is right up my alley and makes a lot of sense. Today, I finally had a moment to sit down and take some time for myself and do a little exploring. It's important to note I was on vacation for the week which really didn't feel like a vacation so having this small moment meant a lot to me.
Along my exploration inside of Second Life this afternoon I stumbled upon a new art installation called "The Enchanted Library" Again this can be found inside second life by clicking here. This took my love for reading and books to a whole new level. Also for those who don't know me, exploring art installations is my all-time favorite thing to do in world.
To explore more on "The Enchanted Library" please continue reading below.
This sim was built with the poet and reader in mind and it all starts with falling down an "Alice in Wonderland's" rabbit hole into a whole other world. You are welcomed with a notecard that explains more about the sim, the individual (Kaneha Atheria) who has created it, and its significance. I truly recommend reading up on this before entering, it just connects more of the wonder!
Tumblr media
Once you fall down this rabbit hole you enter a beautiful forest, books everywhere! There are so many places to sit and cuddle it's insane, there's even a place to take that special someone dancing. I'm going to be the first one to say that I'd even recommend taking someone here on a virtual date. It's a smaller place but it speaks volumes, there are different areas with different writings you can read by picking up the notecards. I spent 2 hours reading almost every piece of writing. Again if you're a poet (who didn't know it) this is someplace you can get lost in for a while. Just like the sims' title, it's a library with poetry, romance, and a great place if you're into whimsical photography. A lot of the themed forest is based on "Alice in Wonderland" which I'm okay with but it adds some vintage flair to the mix.
Are you ready for a scavenger hunt? I wasn't but at the same time, I'm glad I pushed myself to be ready!
Many of the book installations are interactive all you need to do is sit on them! The creator (Kaneha Atheria) has hidden 16 well-known book titles in many parts of the forest's landscaping. Some of them are actual books you can read, while others are objects from stories and there are even some scenes.
Some of these include the following;
A Christmas Carol
Alice in Wonderland
Baba Yaga
Cinderella
Dracula
Frankenstein
Game of Thrones
Harry Potter
Peanuts (Charlie Brown)
Peter Pan
Phantom of the Opera
Rumpelstiltskin
Snow White
The Frog Prince
The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe
The Man With The Golden
Tumblr media
One area I loved here was there was a meditation section near where one of the clickable books was to read some of the poetry. Just watching my avatar in pure bliss made me feel a similar way. It's amazing just how much a human on the other side of a computer screen can connect so closely with their avatars inside of a virtual world. It's truly an experience.
This is a more permanent area that she has created for meetings, events, and just a place to sit and enjoy! There is a group you can join if you wish, and you can share your photos with your amazing experience in this world on their Flickr.
Whether you enjoy reading, photography, exploring, dancing or just want a place to relax and take everything in by transporting yourself to a whole other world, this sim has a little bit of everything for everyone to enjoy. To be honest I may even host a hangout with a few friends here just to read some of the poems together.

Reblogs and a Happy Belated Mother's Day!
Since I haven't had a whole lot of time to make any recent posts due to my work schedule, I went ahead and reblogged a few posts of avatars created by the Second Life community that I loved. It's amazing how far Second Life has come, with so many realistic avatars and ways to express ourselves in the virtual world and beyond. The most recent reblogs I have made are from people from the community that have an eye for avatar creation and a passion for their own styles in fashion. Also, since I'm one day late, Happy Mother's Day to all the strong Mothers out there. Without you, a lot of us wouldn't be as sane as we are in today's world. Happy Belated Mother's Day! and a thank you to those of you whose posts I've reblogged.

Dictionary - Popular Virtual World Terms First Edition (Letter A)
Tumblr media
I've had requests from newer Second Life members and others who may need to learn the terminology on the platform to ask for a comprehensive rundown on some terms. Hence my new "Dictionary" posts have emerged. Weekly until I run out of letters to post about, I will post a few "Dictionary" posts to help with some confusing terminology. This can help anyone and help you learn more about the platform, whether you're a new or seasoned user.
Animation Override - AO animates your avatar when idle to make them seem more realistic.
Avatar - A Metaverse representation of yourself, a self-expression piece everyone sees.
Asset - An image, sound, script, or object brought into Second Life. This can also be called a UUID and type. This is primarily what beginners would call an "item."
Alpha - Primarily used now more than ever to describe parts of a Second Life mesh body that are made invisible to hide parts of the body that might clip into clothes unwillingly.
Agni - The public Second Life grid, otherwise known as the worlds you visit daily.
Auto Return - As a landowner, you can set the auto-return to a specific amount of time, and it will return all objects to a specific user from which the objects have come.
Avatar Impostor - A way to render other avatars from a distance.
Alt - This short term stands for a user with an "alternative account," as Linden Labs allows; it is a user that owns multiple accounts for one reason or another.
Attachment - An object such as clothing that can be attached to an avatar, whether in their hand, pelvis, etc. A lot of the time, each object has its own location specified by the creator of the clothing or object.
Abuse Report - Trust me, you will need this! It is an official report sent to Linden Labs to inform them of a violation of the Terms of Service. If needed, you would file a report by clicking Help - then Report Abuse. This would then display the REPORT ABUSE window that allows you to submit a report.
Stay tuned for the "B" Virtual World Terms in the Second Edition!

Self-expression through our avatars is essential to a Metaverse (a new term for a virtual world that you immerse yourself in. Thank you, Zuckerberg). Without a positive avatar creation experience and unlimited customization, that is one way to lose your consumer base. Today I finally got around to creating a new avatar after months of what seems like the longest hiatus ever. To be quite frank with many of you, this was one of the shortest. I was gone from Second Life for about 3-4 months, which explains my lack of posts. Never fret! I have made an extensive comeback. Obviously! If you want to see what I have on "Read More Below."
Currently sporting the following items:
LeLUTKA Head - Avalon 3.1 Version (updated)
=Zenith= Evelynn Full Outfit - Skirt, top, and jacket included. Comes with claws, but my avatar is not wearing them.
DOUX - Joya hair (for all my dread queens out there, this is for you!)
Foxwood - Tiny Pup White
IKON Promise Eyes - Green
Maitreya Body (Regular)
MICHAN - Marina Heels in White
VISTA Animations - HUD 5.32 Miriam Bento AO - V.3 (I'm sure there is an update for this, but I haven't collected my updates yet.)
[HQ LOD] #BANG. Sunglasses with Accessories 'Galaxy (20% Opac)
*Links will be added in the future. Please keep an eye out for "notes" and post updates.*

Second Life and Hiatuses
Tumblr media
One thing that needs to be talked about more is hiatuses. That sounds strange, right? You can also take hiatuses from virtual worlds, just like leaving work or going on vacation. In this case, I will aim this post toward Second Life readers, but this applies to ALL virtual worlds.
Whether it's due to virtual world drama, life getting in the way, or a break due to heartbreak, there are many reasons why someone might leave Second Life for a few months to even years. As odd as it may seem, I find myself going back to it after months and have even gone a year without entering the platform and then going back in. It's crazy just how much changes and how much you forget.
Those who have taken a hiatus know it's like starting over from square one. Many friends on your friend list don't remember you anymore, and the graphics have changed, meaning buying more updates and updating your avatar with the newest heads, body, hair, skin, etc. The list literally goes on and on. However, you can still start over. You already have a major advantage over the noobs, the fact that your profile shows your account has been active for 1+ year, and you already have some of the mesh items. Hence, it's just remaking your avatar to fit how you like it and organizing your inventory. Below are some tips to make your transition to getting back into Second Life more manageable.
Just purge your friend list - typically, this would be the hardest thing to do, but let's be honest, you last spoke to these people long ago. Congrats, you're now a stranger! According to statistics, most people on Second Life are between 32-70+ years old. I hate to say it, but many of them will not remember you due to their real lives. I know tough pill to swallow, but you'll be okay. If it's someone you still talk to through Facebook or through text or someone you know will remember you, then you can keep them but otherwise, purge that friend list. No one on there is your friend anymore (maybe if they are going down their friend list looking for some extra lindens to be sent to them).
"Spring Clean" your inventory - remember that long list of objects, clothes, mesh heads, furniture, and builds lingering around the inventory you haven't touched since last year lent? Yup! Well, it's time to clean it. Organize it and bring life back to the dreaded 23,000 items you've accumulated. Go to a sandbox, or if you have premium, your Linden home, and start going through everything. Start adding things to your avi so you know if it's something you want to keep or purge; go through folders and separate items into sections that make it easier for you to find exactly what you're looking for. This is something I've consistently struggled with for years. After being on Second Life for about 14-15 years, my inventory is completely crowded. Did you know that the more items you have, the slower your Second Life viewer takes to load? Yup! The more you know. So do yourself a favor and "Spring Clean" your entire inventory when you return; it's time-consuming but worth it later.
Work on your avatar - This one might be the most obvious; you need to work on it and bring it back to life. If it looks like one from the prim days, you're now considered vintage. Congratulations on being on Second Life longer than most people still play. In some sims in Second Life, that look still flies; you can be whoever, whatever, and look how you want. However, in a lot of the new sims out of the experience, it is frowned upon if your avatar isn't updated to at least a Maitreya body and free bento head of some sort (there will be later posts on the cheapest bento heads on the market and best bodies to get later on). We are currently on bento, baked-on mesh, bento heads, and bodies. If you don't know these terms, it's okay; you were on a hiatus; welcome back! Time to relearn. I will make a future post with some standard new terms for those of you coming back into this virtual world. -------------- <- (Updates will be posted there.)
If you're looking to talk with people, clubs are where it's at now - Let's be honest Second Life clubs have always been popular. Who doesn't want to sport out their newfound virtual pixels to the world on a gigantic dance floor for all to see? But to be 100% honest, this is where it has started, and this is the only place you will find a ton of people and breedable pet auctions (people love to spend money in here, I don't know about you, but as everything keeps rising I don't have it.). This is the best place to find people; don't let that discourage you from exploring some of the most amazing sims created by users like you.
Would you be interested in exploring? You'll probably be doing it alone; get a buddy! - Find another individual that also likes to explore because, most likely, you and that person will be the only ones there. This is because, just like all games, Second Life has been monetized. People hang out where they can spend money, shops, clubs, and gambling sims. Sounds like real life, doesn't it? As time keeps moving forward, that's what it turns into. To be fair, though, the advertising from these creators is top-notch, so it's straightforward to want to spend real-life money to get virtual currency. Trust me, though; many of these user-created worlds are worth exploring away from the famous places.
These are just a few tips on things you should consider doing after coming back from a hiatus. Second, Life is not for the weak of the heart, and there are always consistent changes. Relearning is worth it from the experiences you take out of it. Just like in reality, it's not all going to be sunshine and rainbows, but just remember that you don't have to put up with anything you don't want to. Peace and tranquility are only a skip, jump, block, delete, and "x" away.

The Jennifer Steele Art Gallery - Second Life Destinations
Tumblr media
I love art! There are so many different perspectives others have of the world, and each person shares that creativity in their own way. Art is a self-expression of the soul, similar to how avatars are our creations of ourselves in a virtual space; art is a way to show talent, creativity, and individualism. Artists don't get the spotlight they often deserve (hence the term starving artist). However, artists are now taking to Second Life and different Metaverses (virtual worlds) to reach a wider audience and grow their popularity. Second Life has been home to many artist installations through the years. This evening I took a skip and a jump over to the destinations guide and found "The Jennifer Steele Gallery."
If you love art and enjoy the immersion it provides. For example, you might sit down in an art museum and take in one of the pieces you relate to. Then you will love visiting galleries inside Second Life and, Specifically, Jennifers. When walking into this artistic modge podge of creativity, I was immediately greeted with color and a pop of mixed media. Those who know me know I'm a huge fan of mixed media art (a variation of traditional and digital pieces). I enjoyed all the colors that exploded from each piece, and I spent about an hour exploring each.
Second Life art galleries like Jennifer's have become more popular. But it's a fantastic way to share their art with a like-minded community. We are coming to an era where it is vital to have an online presence, and Metaverses allow us to build our communities in a way we might not be able to on social media. Not to say that building an online social media presence isn't essential, but Metaverses are just as important because this is where everything is headed. Jennifer is ahead of her time.
A lot of her work spikes a lot of positive emotions and provides a very positive experience. Though the building is through a computer screen, you feel fully immersed, and it feels much bigger than you would expect. One thing I love to do when I explore Second Life art galleries and installations and form my own symbolism or understanding of why the artist named the piece the way they did or why they created something in the way they did. Sometimes artists already provide you with the answer on the tag, but other times it's up to the viewer's imagination. This is something I've always loved about art.
In conclusion, if you're looking for a very artsy or creative date night, love art and supporting local artists, or just want something new to check out, I would recommend this gallery and really take a moment with each piece to take it in and have your own perspective of each one. You might spend a good few hours in this place, so allow enough time to enjoy it, and remember to support Second Life artists and small artists in your local communities!

This Christmas outfit is the cutest. I love the innocence, vintage, and holiday aesthetic. Almost like Gothic Lolita in a sense. Excellent job with this! I Needed to post this because it must be seen by everyone. Happy Holidays to @sooyun-ichtama and everyone else who reads this. I'm glad she posted it, it gives my page a little bit of holiday cheer since I haven't had the time to contribute to my blog for the holidays as of yet and Christmas is tomorrow. Ha-ha!
