📨 [email protected] Hey, I'm George! Concept Artist @frontier, and a fantasy artist that specialises in creatures. I love all things fantasy, monsters (especially dragons), and DnD
Posting portraits of my DND characters because I feel proud of something for once ⚡💀
On the left is Ernis (who I'm currently playing in my first proper DND campaign AAAA), Oath of thunder (homebrew) Aasimar paladin. Very lightningy, Has lost a lot of his memories, has cool markings and eyes that glow and change colour sometimes. BIG fan of spears ⚡⚡
On the right is Marlowe (who I desperately want to play) A Hallowed one/drow Warlock/fighter. Big necromancy vibes but doesn't deal with dark magical (most of the time) Was once a general but decided he didn't like it (mostly because he got jabbed in the chest by a sword and had to be resurrected years later) Bit grouchy, has a fancy gravedigger shovel that can turn into a great sword, and is a bit of a green thumb 💀💀

The Infernal Aves, or colloquially known as the Phoenix, are a small but varied group of highly specialized and adapted repot-avians.
This combustable creature has spawned countless myths and legends due to its unique pyro adaptation.
Their feathers are light yet hard, scale like, forming an almost impenetrable armor which protects them from their environment and also their burning adaptation. The Infernal Aves live exclusively along volcanic terrain. Without it they would be incapable of combustion. It is the combination of sediment/minerals from the environment and the combustible enzymes produced and secreted from it’s body that ignite the flaming bird They also use the ambient heat of it’s environment to incubate a single egg that is buried and abandoned. This form of parenting, or lack there of, lead to the belief that the phoenix dies and is reborn from a single egg. This form of nesting is seen across all species.
While all Infernal Aves are fire capable each species has varying degrees of it.
Despite folklore phoenixes do not remain ablaze for extended periods of time, it is largely a last ditch escape effort. Or in some cases part of mating displays in males. While their bodies are relatively fire resistant it is not entirely, continued fires will ear away at its protective coating that covered their feathers.
Pencil sketch of a kirin character I'm working on. He'll be a companion/mentor figure to my fawn character and has a more humanoid form.
Kirin's in this setting are related to equines but not quite the same. Took inspiration from rhinos and alligators for tough leathery skin and armor. They are rare, intelligent and long lived, some have natural magical abilities. Still roughing them out.
The Fire Phoenix is neither fire breather nor a phoenix, but rather a drake. It gets its name from it's flashy appearance. It’s body is speckled in bioluminescence and males grow large, impressive boney crests that are also pitted with light. These warm red lights, paired with it’s unique call can give the illusion of a combusting beast when in motion which lead some to believe it was a member of the infernal avians
Library of Congress - historical posters and photos
NASA - you guessed it
Creative Commons - all kinds of stuff, homie
Even Adobe has some free images
There are so many ways to make moodboards, bookcovers, and icons without plagiarizing! As artists, authors, and other creatives, we need to be especially careful not to use someone else’s work and pass it off as our own.
Please add on if you know any more resources for free images <3
THIS IS SO RAD WTF. I love the hands on the eyes it's such a cool design
I was working on an adoptable but uhh- guess my brain felt like doing something else
still gonna fix up the adoptable ofc but damn I am actually pretty happy with the outcome u-u
ALRIGHTY THEN SWORDTEMBER, I've skipped a couple, but here is my rendition of the prompt 'Rogue'
'Hush':
This particular hilt has a unique hidden blade. When the grip is twisted in a particular fashion, smoke is released from the crossguard forming a blade that could cut the air itself.

A smol friend for Smaugust! Not religiously going off of any prompts this year but for this one the prompt was feather! I had fun with this one, gonna try and do a few more designs between finishing up my freelance work
The Maple Leaf Drake is a small to medium sized woodland dragon that populates temperate forests across the globe. Their unique body morphology allows them to hide, almost seamlessly, amongst vast maple forests. This physiological adaptation also extends to seasonal color changes throughout the year. They will live their lives hidden amongst the leaves, using their long proboscis bill to pierce through the bark of Maple Trees to extract the sweet sap, which makes up the majority of it’s diet.
Incredibly skittish, the Fearful Precious Red Coral Drake lives it’s life hidden amongst Red Coral. It’s long proboscis-like mouth snatching up small unsuspecting pray.
