What are your favorite moments of Patrick being a troll?

Oh, hi! Thank you for this nice ask, and bless you for giving me an excuse to think about my most beloved of beloveds: Troll Patrick.

What I appreciate most about trolling as a means of conveying affection is that you have to KNOW someone in order to troll them. You can give anybody flowers or pay the same old compliments, but trolling is personal. So when Patrick trolls David, it's an acknowledgment that he's paying attention.

And what makes Patrick's particular brand of trolling so delightful is how he wraps it inside something impossibly fond and sincere, and then wraps that in even more trolling.

Take open mic night. I believe Patrick is genuinely looking for a way to bring people into the store and genuinely enjoys performing, but he knows it isn't David's idea of a good time. So what does he do? He makes jokes about a fringed vest and an original song. He singles David out in front of everyone and loudly dedicates the song to him. He does everything he can to make it as uncomfy as possible for David.

BUT THEN. He sings That Song. And he sings it in That Way. He shows David, unmistakably, how much he cares about him.

The same is true for the first time Patrick says I love you. He knows David has said it very rarely, and never to a romantic partner. He knows it's going to be uncomfortable for David no matter what, so he waits until David is having a stressful day, gives him absolutely no preamble, then drops it on him without warning. He's peak fond in that moment, but also peak troll. It's the Patrick Brewer Way.

Then you have the wedding vows. I won't lie, I have a hard time watching that entire scene because it's too many feelings, and there's only so much a girl can take. But the trolling is at maximum levels.

The fact that he chose to sing to David in front of everyone with no warning. 💙 The fact that he chose Mariah, knowing what she means to David, calling back to their first 'I love yous.' 💙💙

Not only does Patrick understand what his actions mean to David, but he knows that David knows he understands what they mean. In that moment, he intentionally communicates to David in a language that only David can understand.

This legend trolled his husband during their wedding vows, and no one but the two of them knew that it was trolling. It wasn't at David's expense -- it was FOR David. And it was ONLY for David.

Look, we all know that emotional vulnerability makes David Rose deeply uncomfortable. This aversion has held him back in his prior relationships. But Patrick understands this about David and responds with, "You know what I'm gonna do? I'm gonna make him so uncomfortable about something else that the discomfort he feels from the emotional vulnerability will be a relief in comparison."

And that, friend, is how you troll someone you love.

You ever think that Diego and Klaus ended up in a holding cell together at some point? Like one night in their early to mid 20s, Klaus is in there for something like public intoxication and Diego gets thrown in for interfering with a police investigation and they’re just stuck there together. Personally I headcanon that these are some of the only times they see each other between leaving the academy and showing up to the funeral.

He clings to the ideals instilled by their father, refusing to acknowledge the flaws in their upbringing. diego - anger: diego's impulsive and hot-headed nature reflects the anger he harbours' towards their father, society, and the injustices he perceives in the world. his constant need to fight against authority may stem from this deep-seated rage. allison - bargaining: allison's use of her powers to manipulate reality mirrors a form of bargaining. she seeks control over her surroundings, hoping to negotiate her way out of difficult situations and find some facade of peace and happiness. klaus - depression: klaus's struggle with addiction and his tendency to escape reality through substance abuse could be seen as a manifestation of depression. he uses drugs and alcohol to numb the pain of his past traumas and the burden of his powers. five - acceptance: five, despite his sarcastic demeanour, often shows a level of acceptance towards their circumstances. he's practical and focused on finding solutions to their problems, even if it means making difficult decisions. ben - transcendence: ben's ability to communicate with the dead and his eventual manifestation as a physical being separate from klaus could represent transcendence. he's moved beyond the limitations of his mortal form, gaining a deeper understanding of existence. viktor- rebirth: viktor's journey from being the "ordinary" sibling to discovering his extraordinary powers and embracing his true self is symbolic to a rebirth. he undergoes a transformation, shedding his old identity and embracing his full potential. The fact Reginald didn't have Allison rumour Viktor as 'You think you're normal' or 'You think you don't have powers' but instead went with 'You think you're ordinary' is so insidious.

Because it didn't just affect Viktor's belief around his powers, it affected his whole world view. You can't excel in anything if you think you are in no way special or distinct. He had the talent to be first chair (yes his power helped but his power couldn't make bad playing appear good, he still had to play well) but he didn't believe he did and so was stuck at third chair. Even in teaching he talks himself down when Harold compliments him, saying his next student could probably teach him (but if that were the case why would that student's parents not just get another violin tutor?). It's also part of why he falls under Harold's spell, because he's ordinary and along comes this guy who seems great and thinks he's special, something Viktor literally cannot believe he is because of the rumour, so how can he not be won over by that attention?

I also believe this was completely intentional, because believing he is in no way special, coupled with being numbed by his medication ensures he will be a docile child and easily manipulated. Seeing as Reginald didn't predict the siblings would leave as adults, he had intended to control Viktor his entire life.

THANK YOU !! <33 okay okay so i’ve said a lot already but i need to ramble about nell jackson herself briefly because i am So Obsessed with her. it’s so refreshing to see a strong female character who actually had depth to her. she dresses masculine but she can pull off being a noblewomen if the situation calls for it. she’s a strong fighter and seems to enjoy the thrill of a fight regardless of her abilities. but she’s also allowed to be emotional at times, because of course she would be. so much has happened so suddenly, it’s a lot. i’m so glad they let her be upset. and oh, gosh, the amount of love she has for her sisters? her general sense of loyalty? it makes me so happy to see

going forwards, there’s so much i want to see from her. i’m torn because it would be nice to see her settle down with one of the other gals, because that would make my sapphic heart warm. but also the idea of all these people pining over nell who is entirely oblivious would be hilarious too. arospec sapphic nell, i think. i would looove to see her delve into magic beyond billy’s. i think it could be something that’s she’s forced to rely on as a last resort, something that no only has a price for her but also highlights to everyone around her the level of responsibility she carries. also just seeing louisa harland act out a spell casting would he so cool. overall though, if nell just keeps going as she is i’ll be happy. i love her so much

Allison. I want them to address the whole Luther situation case that blew me off course, I wasn't expecting it that much considering she literally got married in the 60s etc. I hope they don't skip over it because it's a serious topic.

Klaus. How does he turn out? I want him to be happy at the endgame. He needs to be surrounded by people who love him and care about his wellbeing because I doubt he had much of that on the streets. If that is with Dave coming back (highly doubt it that ship has totally sailed) or with a new person or even with himself (which is what I want) I just want happy Klaus. He deserves it

I'm flip-flopping on the germ thing. On the one hand I agree, Rob would act the shit out of it, and I can justify why it would happen in my head, sort of. On the other hand I don't want the last season to be spent with Klaus hiding somewhere because he doesn't want to get close to anyone. I think he deserves to be part of the action for once.

Yes! I get this completely and 100% agree. I want him to go out with a bang almost, he deserves to be happy and I want him to do things that make him happy.
