if a teenager is at your door and they are wearing a costume!! please give them candy!! they are still in it for the halloween spirit and it honestly no different from a little kid in a costume. they are just as excited and happy as all the other lil tykes and dont you dare tell them they are “too old for trick-or-treating” because that will literally break their hearts and that’s not cool.

They call me witch as if it's a bad thing. I just want to smell like mint and own pretty rocks—i just want to be happy from the simplest things. How can you be upset at that?

Calls for Justice for Aurora’s Violinist Elijah McClain Grow
Elijah McClain was a kind and gentle 23 year old who worked as a massage therapist in Aurora, CO. On his lunch breaks from work, Elijah would go to the animal shelters and play violin for the animals because he thought that they were lonely in their cages and thought that the music would calm them.
In August 2019, Elijah went to the gas station to buy some iced tea for himself and his cousins. Because he suffered from anemia he would often wear a ski/ runner mask over his face to stay warm. On his way home, the Aurora Police department were called to reports of a “suspicious man.”
(Warning: for violent description) Elijah was apprehended by a group of three cops, despite committing NO crime and being unarmed. A struggle occurred, and he was held in a very dangerous carotid hold around his neck while he cried for help, cried out that he couldn’t breathe, cried out that he was nonviolent and couldn’t even kill a fly, and was repeatedly throwing up. Elijah weighed a mere 140 pounds. You can hear on the audio footage, an officer instructing another to move their body camera out of view.
While 3 Aurora Police Dept officers violently restrained him they called Aurora Fire Dept, who injected him with ketamine (a powerful drug used to tranquilize horses or in surgeries by a trained anesthesiologist and illegal to be administered by anyone else) even though he was already cuffed and calm.
He went into cardiac arrest , slipped into a coma, and his family was advised to take him off life support 6 days later.
The cops were transferred to another department but never received charges.

It all started with a tweet: “If you’re white, give a Black person a plant this instant,” it read. Amid the distressing images of Black people being beaten and murdered circulating online, videos of American police officers shooting rubber bullets at peaceful protestors, and all the trauma unearthed in the last few weeks, DJ Freedem’s idea was simple: “With everything going on in the world and in the media, I figured plants would be a nice way to bring some physical positivity and change into people’s homes and ultimately their lives.”
Suddenly, Black users began replying to the thread with the plants they wanted, or had been looking for. Meanwhile, over on Instagram, Freedem’s screenshot of the original tweet was picking up pace. “White people started commenting that they had a bunch of plants in their homes that they’d love to give away,” he explains. “And Black people would reply to them stating what they wanted.” In a matter of hours, Freedem’s plant exchange was in full bloom.

in the wake of yet another black person being murdered by police, here’s a list of relevant fundraisers and organizations that could use your support right now.
this is specifically a call to action for fellow white people. if you’re white and you’re in any way able to, donate.
George Floyd’s memorial fund
Minnesota Freedom Fund: “We value a society that values its people, their freedom and recognizes their contribution to the greater good. A society that does not condition pretrial freedom on class or identity, that has ended mass incarceration, and that invests in restorative and transformative justice.”
Black Visions Collective, an org that strives to “shape a political home for Black people across Minnesota. We aim to center our work in healing and transformative justice principles, intentionally develop our organizations core DNA to ensure sustainability, and develop Minnesota’s emerging Black leadership to lead powerful campaigns.”
Reclaim the Block, which “organizes Minneapolis community and city council members to move money from the police department into other areas of the city’s budget that truly promote community health and safety. We believe health, safety and resiliency exist without police of any kind. We organize around policies that strengthen community-led safety initiatives and reduce reliance on police departments.”
