When I Was Young... (An LGBTQIA+ Charity Comic Anthology)

I wanted to announce about this awesome project earlier though... I was hospitalized and got gender affirming surgery for a while so it became late.

I draw a short story that called "Flint & Sarah" with Christopher Cantwell for the 100+ page comic anthology "When I Was Young...". Once I collaborated with Chris for Marvel's Voices: Pride on 2022, so I'm glad to work with Chris again for this cool project :)

- About "When I Was Young..."

This isn't about me. Or maybe it is, honestly...the me in my memories, from when I was young. Introducing When I Was Young... A 100+ page comic anthology featuring short stories of inspiration, advice, and triumph. All profits will be donated to The Trevor Project to benefit LGBTQIA+ youth.

Money from funding will pay for creative costs and production. All profits will be donated to the Trevor Project to benefit LGBTQIA+ youth.

I'm sorry I hadn't updated anything long time… Honesty, I've been in bad shape from a while ago. I have tendency to be influenced easily by news or environment, current situation about anti-trans movement is terrible for me. It's awful in Japan too 😢 Anyway, I'm trying my health to get better.

Aside from that, today (Fifth of April)'s NCBD, "Spider-Gwen: Shadow Clones #2" is out! I enjoyed to draw strange relationship of Gwen and Gwen Ock. And battle against new Gwen clone!

Happy new year, 2023!

It's been a while last post. I have been super busy by moving house. Finally I finished to make workspace and gaming desk, both are I have been wanted long time. I bought Drapas' desk, A1 size and I use for drawing comics. And I put another desk, I will use for digital tools and packing the webshop things.

Gaming PC came to my house too. I have to learn how to use windows OS and gaming with keyboard and mouse. I bought DOOM and Halo on Steam, I wanna play soon!

So, while setting up the gaming desk, 2022 was ended. Happy new year, everybody. I hope your 2023 will be fabulous!

I talk about personal stuff, 2022 was half awesome, half terrible year.

About work, it was totally better than past two years. I drew two of Marvel's Voices. And I also drew two of Spider-hero, one of them was first ever gay spider-hero Web-Weaver, I couldn’t be prouder as a queer artist. Another spider-hero was Spider-Gwen aka Ghost-Spider, this is mini series and I'm going to draw first some months of 2023. And I started the journey of transition. I started to going to GIC from August. It was one of the biggest decision in my life.

Terrible things are… almost related to trans hate/transmisia (I decided to use transmisia instead of transphobia) Especially increasing the number of trans hate post on twitter was awful. I already deleted the account though, the takeover by Elon Musk was happened and I read the news about number of hate and discrimination post were increased actually. (To tell the truth I can't believe friends still using that terrible SNS)(Yea, they are majority and maybe don't care so much) I have tried to get better mental illnesses but this became the trigger my mental condition was getting worse again. That time I drunk alcohol a lot for escape from anxiety, so I was worried about being alcoholism if I keep this bad habit. So I asked doctor and started medication. I haven’t drink any alcohol since 9 September. It was good I could stop alcohol before being worse, but I liked drink Japanese sake after work, so I feel like be took away a part of my usual life…

So, my plans of 2023. Anyways I really, really hope getting better my mental illness.

I'll try to get better my mental illnesses. I'll continue to stop drinking alcohol and have meds.

For years I have often been down by mental illness and having meds, may weight was gained and I'm lacking energy for usual life. I will do workouts regularly.

I will reduce relationship with friends… I need keep distance and time. I hope everyone learn about Trans/nonbinary, neurodiversity, and being kind to other people more. I think I'm OK there are creative teams and fans at least. Being alone is better than being treated like I wasn’t there even though I was there for me.

I wanna draw Star Wars again :P

Top Surgery and starting hormone injections!! I don't know when I can get them though…

I'll get 3 tattoos at least.

Thanks and farewell for IDW Transformers

A bit late, the final Transformers comic "Transformers: Shattered Glass II #5" was released December 14th, 2022. IDW's transformers comic started since 2005, it's 17 years long. I could worked on a short term, title was "Optimus Prime". And it was my first ongoing work as comic artist. Honesty, I really didn't know anything about comic work with overseas client I also don't know about Japanese client though. lol) that time because I didn't have any comic artist friend in Japan, my English was faltering, and the "agent" who said help me was a shit (alas, I don't wanna recall about this)(I never ever trust agent). I definitely learned a lot. "Optimus Prime" was build me as comic artist actually. I really appreciate writer John Barber and editors especially Carlos Guzman and David Mariotte working with me deadly patiently. Still I'm working as comic artist is because of you guys! And Josh Burcham, who is the colorist, I hope we could work together from now on!

And big thanks to the fans who have supported me since I was working for IDW Transformers (some are since I before debuted!) I hope you guys re-read our comics sometimes even though IDW Transformers ended.

Again, big thanks for fans and IDW staff who worked for Transformers.

ULTRAMAN: MYSTERY OF ULTRASEVEN #5 COVER

Finally the proper image of ULTRAMAN: MYSTERY OF ULTRASEVEN #5's cover was uploaded to Previews page! I'm so happy I could work with Josh Burcham again! I really hope we can do more Marvel works together!

I was said I can choose favorite Kaiju from classic series, it wasn’t easy to decide but I chose the most favorite one, Gomora. I made some layout sketches of King Joe version, anyway I drew Ultraman & Ultraseven vs Gomora.

At first there were Osaka castle on line art, but it was deleted by a kind of reason. haha

The story of Gomora in Ultraman series is one of my favorite story. It was kinda… Strange? Weird? Funny?? Sentimental??? Anyway interesting story, Gomora was not bad guy but just troubled by human's ego. And SSSP doesn't work and Ultraman/Hayata had stupid mistake (is he keeping beta capsule while being Ultraman?? And why does it fall so easily lol,) the scene of Osaka Castle was destroyed completely, I could not help laughing, honestly. And that's why I wanted to add Osaka Castle, the second victim of this story.

Story aside, Gomora is the coolest look and powerful, my favorite Kaiju of Ultra series so far. Pleasure to draw Gomora for the official comic cover!

Farewell to Twitter

It was sooner than I announced, but I deleted my twitter account.

One of the reason is Elon fuckshit Musk takeover, of course. But why I make sooner to delete the account is increasing trans/non-binary hate. Especially by Japanese users, the situations became really terrible day by day. I had been feeling uncomfortable and strong stress. It made my mental illness (anxiety and depression) made worse, so I thought I can't stand it anymore. Work, drawing art are the highest priority of reason to live in my life, I didn't want to ruin it by worsen of mental illness. Thanks to the people who was getting info and checking my random shit tweets on twitter so far. I'll be Tumblr and Instagram ongoingly.

After Web-Weaver's debut story on Edge of Spider-Verse, I'm still drawing a spider-hero. It's unbelievable. Before drawing Web-Weaver, I was thinking like it seems difficult and tough to draw spider-heroes... but I'm totally enjoying now. haha. I can try many kind of actions and composition, these are fun.

So, Spider-Gwen: SHADOW CLONES is written by Emily Kim (Silk, Marvel's Voices: Identity), and villains designed by Peach Momoko(many of beautiful Marvel covers, Demon Days Saga), and interior art by me.
