Update 🥰
Oh my gosh! It has been so long since I last posted!! I’ve officially moved and mostly settled into my new place! 🥰
Since the move I’ve been reflecting on what I am wanting to achieve with my blog and how I wanted to start sharing my knowledge with others. 🌙
So I’ve decided to make an Instagram and a Tik Tok account, so that I will be able to reach more likeminded people and build a safe community! 🌸 I also have a discord channel in the making for those in the community to be able to interact! 🌱
Of course, this doesn’t mean I will be abandoning my blog. This is where I feel like I shine, where I’m able to connect with others and share my knowledge in the most effective way. ✨
I personally enjoy reading blogs over watching reels or TT, and so I want to keep this blog for those who, like me, prefer to read from a blog. 🔮
For those who are willing, I would really appreciate your support in building my social media accounts and building this community. 💕

Life is hectic 🦋
Right now I am currently under a lot of stress. This means that unfortunately my blog has been put on pause as I use any of my free time to be performing self-care. 🌸
I am currently trying to downsize from 2x small bedrooms to a studio granny flat as an alternative model as a hobby and a witch. 😅
I am so lucky and so grateful for this situation though as it means that I’ve secured myself an amazing living situation which will ensure my future. ✨
Once I have settled into my own house I plan to have a few updates about the future for this blog! 🌱🌸
I also have a few small drafts I’ve been inspired to write that I’ll try have posted before the move. 🌙

Manifestation ✨
This year I had to be looking for somewhere to move into a new place. Being unemployed and chronically in pain this was very daunting, especially during the rental crisis.
Every new moon I was strengthening my manifestation that I would find a safe place to live. Suddenly, I did! 😮
I will even be in my own space instead of sharing it with housemates! 🥰
I am so grateful and lucky to have gotten this chance to move into my own space at such a reasonable price as well! 🌸
If you’re unsure if your manifesting is working, give it time! Within 3.5 months I manifested safe living situation when I wasn’t even LOOKING for somewhere to live! ✨

Today I pulled the Eight of Swords with the Five of Pentacles being my shadow card.
I have been working on downsizing recently and today is the start of a massive cull. This is due to needing to move into a much smaller space.
Without my shadow card I never would of guessed that I am being blinded by my comfort materials. I would of spent ages trying to reflect on what I’m being blind to.
Todays message is to not be blinded by the comfort the item brings me while I am culling my belongings.

Full Moon in Virgo meditation!
Things haven’t been going so well for me recently and it’s been rough.
I managed to go Spirit Sky’s group meditation for the full moon in Virgo, and as someone with 6 placements in Virgo I can get very overwhelmed by the moon energy in Virgo.
For anyone in Western Australia, I highly recommend checking out Spirit Sky! Carmen is an amazing woman who provides such a safe, loving, and supportive environment for all who join!
During the meditation I had to face some shadows that I knew were going to come up, and I bawled my eyes out.
On and off during the meditation I was crying. This release was so intense and I am proud of myself for being open not only to myself, but for allowing Carmen in while I was vulnerable. (Which is something I try not do around others).
One thing that helped a lot was the support I had while I was speaking about my experience afterwards. 🥰 One of the women even gave me a hug and now follows this blog! 😮💕
Our journey isn’t always linear and we will always have our ups and downs! That’s a part of our journey! 🦋
I feel more inspired and motivated as I follow Carmen’s advice of self care and being creative. 🥰

Crafting Magick!
One of the things that was recommended to me after the full moon was for me to not only perform self care, but to also be creative. 🌸
Anyone who knows me knows I have a massive creative streak and love to be crafty! It’s one of the ways I love to practice magick too! I will always put intentions into my crochet projects as I feel like that I am weaving in those intentions. ✨
So I decided to frag a scarf I’ve been trying to make for my friend for years (I keep dropping it 😅) and restarted it! I’ve found a different pattern and I’m enjoying the results a lot more than the previous attempts!
I also have quite a few projects I could work on right now that I’ve started and never finished. 😂
I’m also considering making myself a mood flower blanket! I feel like this project will be perfect for being mindful and present, while also winding down for bed! 🌙

It’s okay to take a break from your practice 💕
Sometimes life gets in our way. Our mental health gets low again, our routines fly out the window, and we know what we need to do to feel better but we’re just stuck.
And that is okay! 💕
Everybody is allowed that space if that’s what you’re capable of 💕
These past few weeks I’ve slipped in my journalling, in my routines, my sleep schedule got bad again, and I felt so low.
This was due to chronic pain flaring up badly and preventing me to do much at all.
But, I’m still trying! Even if that’s just washing my face in the morning, or having a shower because I feel gross. I’ll even try and catchup on my journalling!
Our journey is never linear! ✨
We will have our highs and lows, we will have our slip ups, but that isn’t a bad thing!
Being gentle with yourself while working through those times and putting in the work to heal is what’s important. 🌸
Rest is just as important as learning your practice! Without rests we will always eventually fall into burnout.

I always forget just how nice this drink is even without the ginger! I mostly use the ginger when I have a sore throat from being sick!
It’s such a nice and refreshing drink to have while winding down in the evenings! I’m curious to try this drink to replace a coffee during the colder early mornings. 🤔
Herbal Remedy for a Sore Throat 🍯
Since I was a child whenever I was sick my Mum would make me this drink to help with my sore throat. At first I had hated it and thought it was gross but then it grew on me! Since then I would always ask Mum for a honey and lemon "tea" whenever I was sick. It always helped soothe my throat and would help me feel better. ✨
To this day I still drink this when I am starting to feel sick, for a sore throat, or even just because I want a soothing drink! This drink is perfect for a simple kitchen witch recipe! 🌸
Ingredients and Properties 🔮
Lemon: purification, uplifting, rejuvenation, cleansing, and protection.
Honey: joy, happiness, and healing.
Ginger: healing, and spiritual protection.
Method 🌸
Juice half a lemon and make two slices with the other half to insert to cup.
Peel ginger and slice 2-3 pieces.
Add honey and lemon juice to cup.
Fill cup up with hot water with space for cold water.
While stirring set healing and soothing intentions into drink.
Add ginger slices*.
*Don't forget to remove the slices after max 5 minutes to not overpower the drink.

Tarot and Oracle : Shadow Card
Every day when I pull a daily card I will also incorporate the card on the bottom of the deck as my shadow card! ✨ This gives me a little more insight on what’s happening in the background of my life. 🌙
I find that a shadow card helps with understanding the things that are holding you back, or it’s what you need to be doing to overcome the challenge. 🌸Incorporating a shadow card into your daily cards will help you better understand how to align your life, and help you reflect on your shadows. 🦋
I’ve also found since I’ve started using a shadow card it’s become easier to relate cards together! I can now lay cards down in a spread and get the vibe that it's showing me. ✨
A Fun Practice:
A fun way to start relating cards together is to pull a daily shadow card for a tarot deck AND an oracle deck! 💫
Sometimes you’ll be surprised at either how similar the card meanings / symbolism is or be pleasantly surprised to see a different insight! 🔮
How to cut the deck:
Shuffle your deck until you feel it's ready to stop.
Cut the deck where you feel your card.
Put the pile that is in your right hand onto the top. This way your card is on top of the whole deck now.
Flip top card for your daily card.
Look at the card on the bottom of the deck for your Shadow card.

Kitchen Witch Confession! 🍞
So I want to make a loaf of bread for Lughnasadh and my housemate has a bread maker I can use but I’ve never actually done it before. 😮
I found a really simple recipe online but then the settings are completely different?! 😮
I’m not going to give up though! I’m going to get some bread specific flour tomorrow and give it a go! Part of the kitchen witch journey is making mistakes and learning! ✨

My Witchcraft Journey
When I was first learning about witchcraft at the age of 10 I thought that Wicca and having a coven was everything!
I unfortunately had no real guidance or mentors so I had dropped studying until I was 18. Even then I was on and off studying it and wasn’t taught a lot of basic practices because I didn’t know where to start. It wasn’t until I was in my early 20’s did it finally click and I tried to learn about spirituality more as I realised that Wicca wasn’t the right path for me.
I still believed that I needed a mentor to guide me and then life kept getting in my way so once again, I dropped my study. At 24 I managed to finally get more serious about my studies. I started learning shadow work and doing prompts, I was reading more, and I managed to heal my inner child through this! 💕
When I was almost 25 I had both of my hips and knees collapse on me. This was what the universe had been warning me would happen when I kept pulling The Tower, The Hanged Man, and pretty much every other card card which means “stop and rest!”. 🌙
A couple of months later my partner got me a new tarot deck for our 5th anniversary. I had been wanting a new deck because I could never connect with the deck I had completely. Through this I was able to fully immerse myself into my studies and into healing. 🌸
I had stopped caring about finding a mentor, about having a group to work with, and just focused on myself and my path. I was healing because I wanted to become my authentic self. It was then I realised that the solitary path was right for me.
Don’t get me wrong, I love doing group meditation nights and working with others! I just don’t need that all of the time and I appreciate the times I do get to be in a group setting. I have made some amazing friends who are also spiritually inclined, and I managed to inspire my partner to finally start his own path into Occultism! 🥰
I find that the solitary path isn’t that lonely for me. I love having my own practice that’s special to me, and I love sharing my stories and experiences with those who understand witchcraft!
Fast forward to 2024 and my hips and knees are starting to get better through physiotherapy, I’ve become a lot more confident in my practice, and I’ve started to become a person that I love being. 🥰
A year and a half later and here I am! Things have gotten a little easier but of course, I still slip up sometimes. I’ve been studying my path consistently, I can see the improvement with my skills and confidence, and I was able to start this blog!
I still struggle sometimes but I keep trying and keep restarting when I realise I slipped up. ✨
That’s what healing through witchcraft is for me. It’s about being kind to yourself, having small low effort daily rituals to help you through the hard days, and bringing more love and happiness into your life.

Happy Lughnasadh!
February 1st - March 20th
Today is the second day of Lughnasadh for us in the Southern Hemisphere! ✨
🦋 Origin 🦋
Lughnasadh (Loo-Nas-Ah) is the celebration of the First Harvest. It is celebrated in the middle of summer to late summer, between Midsummer and Mabon. 🍁 It is a celebration of seeing what you’ve grown and cultivating it for the winter season. This tradition came from Irish Celts and named from the Celtic Sun God, Lugh.
Lughnasadh comes from two origins of Lugh’s mythology. One is that Lugh wanted to a festival to honour his foster mother, Tailtiu (Tal-Chi-Uh). She had died clearing the Irish plains to prepare them for agriculture.
The other origin is that it was to celebrate Lugh’s marriage. It’s also a time where couples would make a “temporary marriage” which would be only for a year, until the end of the next years festival.
It is also known as Lammas in the Anglo Saxon tradition. Early Christians would take a loaf of bread to a priest to be blessed on August 1st. This loaf of bread was called loaf mass, which the where Lammas came from.
🍇 Celebration 🍇
Every source says that it was either a celebration of funerals or of marriage, but it’s always a festival of Lugh.
Ways that you can celebrate are:
Baking or buying a loaf of bread to celebrate the grain harvest. 🍞
Eating seasonal fruits / veggies. 🍒🍇
Putting colours of yellow, green, orange into your life or onto your altar. 🌻
Using crystals of red, yellow and orange. Carnelian, amber, citrine, and clear quartz for example. 🍓
Using symbolism of scythes, sunflowers, grain (which could be bread!) on your altar. 🌾
Gathering with friends for a potluck! Celebrate summers abundance and take this moment for rest! 🌼 Lughnasadh themed items include: bread, grains (like quinoa), berries, fruit, wine and beer.
Making corn dollies to hang around the home as an offering for a good first harvest, and asking deity (such as Lugh) for blessings. 🌽

Not every day is magickal! 🌸
Having periods of time where you’re not practicing are just as valid as days that you are! ✨
I’ve been on a long journey of accepting the days where I’m not doing anything, while also loving myself for it. 🌙
I know that if I just did the thing that would better my mental health then it would be fine, but I just don’t have the spare spoons that day. 💧
Every small bit that I manage to do, I do with intention. ✨ That is enough for those days! ✨ That’s the beauty of this practice, it doesn’t always have to be elaborate! 🦋

Full Moon in Leo!
26th of Jan 2024
Last night us in the SH had our full moon in Leo! 🌙 I had decided that I wanted to go to the beach for my little ritual 🥰
I walked along the beach with the tide flowing over my feet as I found myself a spot to set up! I had used my singing bowl to begin my session, grounded and protected myself, then I began to reflect. ✨
The moon being in Leo meant that there was a focus on creativity and being “in the spotlight”. I let my releases flow through me while I was meditating and once I was ready I wrote them down in my journal. 🌸
I also decided I wanted to write down what I wanted to come from this moon since the New Moon in Capricorn. 🌱
I’ve had some mental health struggles these past few weeks so I reflected on how I can get better with the motivation of this moon! 🦋
I’m going to be sad when summer goes and it’s too cold to go to the beach for my rituals. I love spending as much time at the beach while it’s warm because once the cold comes through I fall into my hermit phase. 🌼

Infusing Magick into Cooking
Ways that I love to bring magick into the kitchen is through my cooking! I love envisioning how happy I will be eating the food I have cooked for myself.
Some ways that you can bring magick into your cooking:
🌸 Drawing sigils / pentacles 🌸
I love to use the pentacle in every aspect of my life! After drawing the pentacle I will circle either Deosil for banishing and Widdershins for bringing in / protection.
🌱 Cooking with intention 🌱
Are you making a meal for a group of people to enjoy? While you're stirring put in loving intentions into the meal so that your friends will feel safe and loved!
✨ Active meditation! ✨
I find that cooking is a form of meditation for me! I will ground myself and focus on what I am doing to prepare myself a meal filled with love. Being able to actively meditate while I’m focusing on what I am preparing makes me feel connected and present.

Tarot and Oracle Cards: How are they different?
The way that I see tarot and oracle as being different is that Tarot is grounded and about your journey in life, and Oracle cards are your spiritual journey. ✨
This isn’t to say you can’t use oracle cards for your physical life! Oracle cards can offer guidance that complements a tarot reading! 🌸
Here’s some differences between the two:
Tarot:
Tarot cards are depicted as The Fools journey through life and the lessons that are learnt along the way! 🦋
Each card will have its own keywords and themes, not matter the art style or the symbolism the artist has chosen to include into the card. 🌱
Most tarot decks will have a total of 72 cards, 22 major arcana and 56 minor arcana. Sometimes an artist will include a 79th card that they find ties in their deck.
I use Cosmic Visions tarot deck which you can find on Etsy! I find that the art and symbolism works for me and understanding tarot finally clicked for me with this deck! 💫
This deck includes a 79th card that’s The Divine, and it’s one of my favourites! 🥰
My partner likes to use the Rider Waite deck as he can see all of the symbolism in the cards! I personally don’t click with this style. 😂
Oracle Cards
Oracle cards are much different to tarot!
Every oracle deck is unique and has a range of card numbers! I love to collect oracle decks as they are so wildly different to each other and I use them for different reasons! 🌱
Each deck will have its own art style, the cards have their own meaning that the person created them intended, and there’s so many different themes! 🌙 You can find moon related cards, animal cards, angel decks, faeries and even mermaid decks! 🦋
There is no right or wrong meanings to the cards! The authors have created these decks with a guidebook but it’s also up to the readers interpretation. 🔮
How do you see the differences between oracle and tarot decks? 💫

Ways I practice being a cottage witch!
Crochet!
While I crochet I will set intentions into my works! If I’m making a an item of clothing I will put intentions of warmth and safety into it, for coasters I will put intentions of their drink being satisfying. Putting intentions that relate to the item and bring the user some positivity into their lives. 🌸
Cleaning the House
This is a big one! Keeping the house clean is a very big hearth witch ritual. Ways that I make cleaning witchy is by envisioning that all stagnant and negative energy is being sent back to the Goddess so that it can be recycled. ✨
I will set intentions to put positive energy back into the house while I clean so that there isn’t a gap in the energy, and to promote happiness in the home. 🔮
Pressing / Drying Flowers and Herbs🌸
I love to collect flowers to press! I love to press and dry my own flowers for in my practice or even in letters for friends! I have used flower petals and herbs that I’ve dried in my spell jars and in my workings. 🌱
Daily Tarot
Doing a daily tarot reading is a way for me to reflect and journal about how my life is going. I find that I am able to understand what I need to be doing in order to realign my life 🥰
