Cautions For Dealing With Modern Fair Folk
Based on some actual experiences
- When a stranger comes to your apartment door on May day morning asking to borrow some butter or milk, don’t lend any…all your luck will go with it. Never give any stranger a light for their cigarette on May day either - giving out fire is giving away your luck as well.
- When you are walking at night and you hear music, no matter how beautiful, or voices inviting you to join them don’t acknowledge that you can hear them and turn back towards home.
- When you are out walking at night and you hear the sound of horses or hounds or riders find shelter indoors or in your car quickly. The Wild Hunt (we call them Ghost Riders in America) is mercurial and if it’s the Slua Sí passing by they will do you harm if they can.
- Never run from the Fair Folk, if you see Fairy hounds or anything uncanny that frightens you. Running is what prey does and you do not want to be prey. Don’t acknowledge seeing them, if possible, but leave as quickly as you can.
- If you are being pixy-led, if you have lost your way in familiar territory, turn your socks or coat outside in or laugh and joke about how much fun you are having. this will free you from the enchantment.
- Never speak ill of the Good Neighbours aloud, nor express disbelief in them. They take insults badly and if they happen to be nearby and hear you they may respond. You will not enjoy their reaction.

Felt grumpy today. I've been working on letting out frustration but not directing it towards people (something I've struggled with my whole life). Lately I've been taking it out on my husband, so I sat for a long while burning a candle on top of a honeypot spell bottle talking to my subconscious about not misplacing my anger.

The Ultimate Guide to Potion Bases
We all spend so much time thinking about the correspondences of the actual ingredients that go into our potions that we often forget to think about what the potion base represents! (At least I do.) It would be nice to have a list of all the various liquids that can be used in place of water. Naturally, I can’t think of everything but I think this is a pretty good starting point! What else can be used? Eventually, at some point down the road, I will compile all these thoughts into a book on potion making and want to include this! Keep in mind that these are my own correspondences. Let me know if you disagree or if you’d change anything up! Let’s see how big we can make this list. Also, I should probably note that not all of these liquids can be ingested. (Obviously.)
The List
Vinegar: Used for cleansing and purification potions.  Lemon Juice: Used in hexing, cursing, or revenge potions.  Cranberry Juice: Used in love potions. Apple Juice: Used in healing, knowledge, and youth potions.  Ammonia: Used in banishing, cursing, purification, and protection  Red Wine: Love potions and potions dealing with death and the afterlife.  White Wine: Used in platonic love potions as well as success brews.  Rum: Used in potions involving spirit work.  Whisky: Another good base for potion work.  Vodka: A good base for work involving rapid banishing.  Laundry detergent: Good for cleansing potions.  Oils: Used to speed up a process.  Molasses: Used in potions intended to slow a situation down.  Rubbing Alcohol: Another good base for cleansing and purification. Hydrogen Peroxide: Used in healing potions.  Milk: Used in potions to promote sleep and peace.  Sour Milk: Used to cause nightmares or in potions designed to torment. Orange Juice: For potions of solar importance, healing, success.  Soda Water: Used in potions designed to encourage laughter and giddiness.  Ginger Ale: Used in health or healing potions.  Olive Juice: Used in peace potions.  Honey: Used in potions to sweeten up another’s disposition. Syrup: Used in abundance and prosperity potions.  Beer: Used in potions intended to induce slumber.  Clam Juice: Used in aphrodisiacs.  Cough Syrup: Used in healing potions and to make someone ‘cough it up.’ Soy Sauce: Used in protection potions. (Thanks Lexa Rosean for this one!) Pineapple Juice: Used in abundance potions and fidelity potions.  Coconut Milk: Used in spiritual and magical cleansing potions.  Ice: Solid first, then melted for transformation potions. Coffee: Really, a potion in and of itself in my book. Vanilla Extract: In small amounts, used in passion potions. Witch Hazel: Used in communication and cleansing potions.
What else can you all think of?

The husband took me on a date today. These are the best kinds of days!
Next time I’m bringing something to collect some water from the waterfalls! Even though there hasnt been much rain lately so the falls were more of a trickle, the energy was so good!

This is Emerald. About a year and a half ago she picked me at the shelter and so we had to bring her home. She likes her space and alone time- but without fail everytime I do a spell or even just sit to meditate she pops out and lends a hand. Afterwards she always snuggles me 😻😻

The hubs and I have been arguing, so I'm doing my own spin on a "honeypot" spell. For the bottle part: *a paper with our names written thrice tied up like a scroll (because I was feeling extra) *dried rosemary, to bring in good vibes and goddess blessings *dried rose petals, for love *a bunch of honey, to sweeten up our attitudes toward each other. Sealed the bottle with the candle wax while visualizing. Going to continue burning it for 7 days. Then I made peanut butter fudge, (2 cups sugar and 1/2 milk stirred constantly and boiled for like 3 mins, then remove from heat add 1 tsp vanilla and 3/4c creamy peanutbutter, grease your pan and chill for a couple hours) while chanting and stirring clockwise to stir up positive energies. This was fun to stir because the bubbling sugar made me feel witchy af, also I love the symbolism of chilling it for a while after.

I'm @kitchenwitch1006 :) I'm sort of an eclectic/kitcheny/greenish solitary witch. I do a lot of candle spells, and jar/bottle spells right now but I switch things up sometimes.
Listing all the Witches on Tumblr.
I’m making a list of all the witches on Tumblr so as to make it easy for other baby witches/witches to reach you out.
So, please reblog this post and mention which witch you are and your practices in order for me to know and to add you on my list, if that’s okay. :)

Manifested the shit out of my commute today! I was running a solid 5 minuets late (if I'm late it starts a chain reaction of other people being late- and also triggers my anxiety), instead of panicking I visualized and I chanted and showed up right on time. Every light was green, every slow person turned! It was really validating as I'm someone who struggles with self doubt, and that often hinders my magickal outcomes.
