Honestly every time when I remember that Zuko loved one girl for all his life, it makes me SO HAPPY. The Girl, with who they were in love since childhood, with who they were separated.. separated for forever as it seemed at the moment, and they tried to put up with the idea that they probably would never see each other again (and Zuko were lying to himrself that he would return and everything would be as it had been, but Mai had a more sober look at things and understood that she had little to zero chances to see Zuko again). The Girl with who he was separated the second time after their reunion, again risking to lose each other. The Girl who sacrificed herself to save him. The Girl who in the end became his wife, his Fire Lady, mother of his kid. Only Girl who made him smile. No other girl or a guy in the whole show can even compare with her and what she was to Zuko. Nor Ty Lee, nor Katara, nor Aang, Sokka, Song or Jun.. Only Mai. They never hated each other.

I accidentally saw another post №1113566768 that "kataang is one-sided", and I just...

when Katara demonstrates her love for Aang literally in every episode, they are get mad about it and call it an "emotional labor" and devalue her feelings in every possible way. And then they turn around and say that "kataang is one-sided, we don't see Katara showing love to Aang." We do see that he is literally the most important person for her, she fiercely protects Aang, and cares about him - this is her way of showing love. Showing love is not necessary drawing her pupils heart-shaped (although in some episodes we can see "hearts in Katara eyes", lots of them, like blushing and getting jealous), people show love in different ways, and in case of Katara and Aang we see both ways to show it in the show: stereotypical ("hearts in eyes" way, i mean blushing, getting jealous etc), and more complex support and care, and we see it from both sides, from Aang and Katara alike.

Besides Katara and Aang have a lots of disagreement moments and even several fights. It's not a story of a girl who is allowed only to be shy and silent in the presence of her love interest. Katara never was an idealised trophy in aang eyes, he saw her at her lowest points and continued to love her. And all of this is applied to how Katara saw aang too

Literally every episode starts with Katara's monologue about Aang, but no, kataang is one-sided, my ass.

Imo, atla has a bittersweet ending

Aang is sitting alone and wearing the air nomads clothes, his culture clothes, a necklace similar to GYATSO's necklace. I can't even imagine the emptiness and sadness he was feeling here

There are no airbenders in the crowd

All nation gathered..... except the air nomads.

No one else in the crowd wearing orange or yellow.

Aang won the war, but his people are still gone.

Yes, he has the Gaang, he has Katara, he has Momo and Appa. But he's still the last airbender.

This is so heartbreaking.

Sometimes I do wonder if atla fandom like the REAL Zuko at all because the nonsense i'm reading about him....... 😭

"He's a prodigy" nope that's AZULA, that's the point of these two characters and he's also the weakest bender of the gaang

Sorry but I can't stay silent anymore, these posts are insane

Aang: a kid/genocide survivor lashing out because his best friend and only living link to his people has been stolen. The avatar state (a power he is afraid of) was a response to losing another part of his home, the only person connecting him to his past and eradicated culture

Katara: saw Aang loosing control in the avatar state and CHOSE to be at his side and help him, because she KNOW what's it's like having your loved ones stolen from you, she is hurt from seeing him hurting because she's an empathetic person and she loves him. She's comforting a friend during an emotional crisis.

Zutara/Zuko's stans: Ugh violent destructive tantrums save youself katara! Zuko <3

It's funny because those people are stanning a character who called Katara a peasant and threatened to wipe her village and only were in good terms in the last few episodes. They are stanning a character who was a villain/antagonist for two seasons (and half of season 3) who tried to kill her and her friends over and over again. But that's ok, he suffered and redeemed himself in the last 3 episodes, so it doesn't matter, while everything the abuser/toxic Aang """did""" was beyond forgiveness.

That's the message of Avatar the Last Airbender :)

The way people in this fandom are so unempathetic towards a 12 year old who lost everything is so crazy to me.

These episodes are full of sad moments with a lot of hurt behind it. These are all children (child soldiers also) overwhelmed by moments of severe loss. These children are human and they have flaws.

This is why being a fan of most animated content sucks as their fanbases have the intellectual capacity of a goldfish
