initially saw muzan as an unfit leader, but took his offer of becoming a demon anyway

when he found out the truth about muzan's personality, he was. . . speechless?

it was very confusing + conflicting for him: to both hate him for being weak then turning to admire him whole-heartedly for his kindness.

like literally falling to his knees when muzan promises him and the other upper ranks (basically) the world-- just to help him find the blue spider lily

does anything for this man, with no ounce of hesitation

sees muzan as someone to protect

doesn't show it much but cares for muzan with his whole being

☆☆☆ # doma !

at first his whole brain does the ' . . . ? ' thing

finds muzan absolutely adorable, and always comments on it

he likes to bother / embarrass muzan (like getting him flustered + teasing him for his kindness)

the other upper ranks will hit him for doing it. . . so he'll keep doing it regardless

but goodness if he doesn't treat muzan like a little brother!

the need to protect him is kind of like protecting a family member, and the thought alone means a ton to doma (even if he refuses to say so)

☆☆☆ # akaza !

was initially disgusted witnessing such kindness. he (like kokushibo) mistook it for weakness

but. . . muzan's unrestricted love + understanding for him hits something deep in his heart

its a feeling he really needs; muzan is the kindness he needs to have near him

so, although he tries to stay a certain distant from muzan (akaza's hesitant to trust anyone) he always checks in on how he's doing and makes sure he has what he wants

and like all the other upper ranks, he will kill for this man- whatever muzan requests of him

but, (unlike most of the upper ranks) he will go out of his way to achieve his/muzan's goal to impossible extents (ig he show's his appreciation through his actions)

☆☆☆ # hantengu !

thinks muzan is just like him: innocent, virtuous, pure

definitely tries to protect him, and tries to be physically close to him as a form of. . . clinginess? admiration? (muzan appreciates him)

the clones are the ones who do all the protection tbh

has an underlying jealousy over ranks (he wants to be more like muzan) + immediately regrets the thought of 'hating' him for being 'above' him

whenever all of hantengu's clones appear they always manage to talk about muzan

some of the clones, like sekido, urami and zohakuten will not tolerate an ounce of disrespect:

☆☆☆ # gyokko !

like the way he treats cruel muzan, he is obsessive towards this man. even in kindness

never thought anything initially when he learned the truth, i mean, of course he was a little wary because muzan was the demon lord

but when he puzzled out the truth he was. . . just took a moment before it sets in (he's still the happiest with muzan)

thinks he's adorable beyond comprehension, and always mutters it to himself whenever the thought pops into his head (probably some form of love aggression)

always seeks muzan's approval, especially on his artwork

☆☆☆ # gyutaro & daki !

probably the most appreciative of the bunch is gyutaro and daki

though his personality did make the two uncomfortable at first (how can someone with so much power and authority over literal demons be so-- ?)

i don't think it would really affect how they protect him like they do now, except this time the two of them have a really good reason to fight for him

muzan's kindness towards the two make gyutaro blush out of embarrassment (he's not too used to praise or anything of the like, so it makes him a little uncomfortable)

on the other hand, daki is all over that. she loves this side of muzan (probably to his dismay). she likes to be on his good side. . . and be next to his side whenever she has the opportunity.

honestly, terrifying experience 6/10 because he's so fast and probably laughing like a maniac the whole time. (i mean it'd be great if you weren't in mortal danger and all but. . .)

also probably forgets your up on his shoulder until you remind him to "please put me down now"

even if you were in a relationship, he'd love carrying you. regardless

it'd alternate between you being over his shoulder or carrying you bridal style

either way he carries you like it's what he was born to do

no effort, just you appear in his arms while he smiles (silently relishing in the feeling of your weight on him)

if you ever asked for him to carry you (for whatever reason) he'd be over the moon with joy

☆☆☆ # gyomei himejima !

you're. . . his very passionate feisty tsugoku. (technically not even that, because he has one already. . .)

but i feel like whenever you get too riled up over something he'll just pick you up ( one-handed ) by the scruff of your collar as if you were a kitten.

and yes, to gyomei you weigh next to nothing.

pretty effortless

he's like 7 foot of pure muscle, don't expect less

suddenly you'd be like 2 feet in the air. what the hell is happening

even if you fought him or asked to be put down, he'd just wait until you were calm again.

it's how he'd treat you in a platonic setting. romantically speaking, he has a lot more care when picking you up

your being held next to his chest, bridal style. tucked into his gigantic haori for added safety

always extremely gentle when he picks you up

☆☆☆ # sanemi shinazugawa !

manhandled ! entirely manhandled.

at first, there will be bruises. if he's saving you, moving you etc. he picks you up quickly and a little. . . haphazardly.

plus, if he's fighting, he has more on his mind than how uncomfortable you are

if he has to protect you and carry you, there's only one option:

piggy-back.

you're hanging onto him technically, but he's still carrying/supporting you fully with one hand that's barred over your lower back (or curled under your leg, whichever is more convenient for him)

sanemi always tries to carry you with one hand, either cradled in front of him bridal style or on his back

his methods are a little. . . clumsy, yes (he's rarely ever had to hold someone so gently), but when he picks you up you'll always feel so secure. no matter what scenario he's in, he won't let you go or drop you.

doesn't bother him in the slightest, i mean physically it's no strain. in his hands your light as a feather

not to mention he kind of likes the way he just can pick you up, so sometimes he just does, just to get a reaction out of you ( only if he likes you of course )

at the back of his mind, whenever he takes you out for the night or watches you resting, he thinks to himself: when will you, and your blood outlive its usefulness? and when would be the perfect time to turn you into a demon?

surely you'd be very impressive as a demon.

he smiles to himself at the thought, looking over at your sleeping form with a tender feeling blooming inside of his chest.

its. . . not surprising in the least. he could tell right away that something was off about you. its only when you clumsily hurt yourself that he confirms that you are a marechi.

he can suppress the urge to bite or eat you well enough, your just-- intoxicating to him altogether.

he likes to be near you now more than ever, accepting any kind of physical touch as a comfort.

likes to have you sit on his lap or have a hand on you whenever he can.

he would not allow any other demon (or anyone in general) to lay their hands upon you.

takes it as a challenge when someone oversteps their boundaries to you. will become violent as he's extremely protective of you + with added heft because of the fact that you are a marechi

he, like all the other demons, know just how rare a marechi is!

if he thought you weren't distracting before-! NOW, you are all he can think of

better than anything his followers could give him; no jewels, no gold, no praise could ever be worth more (it couldn't before he learned this, but now! now that he knows he's ecstatic!)

you whole-heartedly hold his all of his affections and adoration!

doesn't like the idea of fighting others over you (if its a lesser demon or a lower rank, he'll demolish them without a second thought. . .) but fighting someone like kokushibo is unthinkable!

but you know. . . he would.

becomes extremely possessive over you, not quite jealous per se. . . but he does need to know where you are at all times + occupy your space almost 24/7

gosh, you are just so damned precious aren't you?

learning that you're a marechi is honestly. . . pretty bad news.

he worries that something bad could happen to you (being involved with demons after all) and that there's a chance he can't protect you like he wants

he doesn't mind your blood (his training disciplines him enough to not mind the fact that you're literally intoxicating)

spends a bit too much time with you, reassuring you that he's there for you and holding you. (side note: loves when you lay on him)

would not do anything without your permission, but if he thought turning you into a demon or hiding you was the right thing to do, he would say so

other than that, he's still your partner, through and through

☆☆☆ # hantengu + clones !

someone would have to point out to hantengu that you were, in fact, a marechi. and if that person was an upper rank demon, you can bet his personalities would split in fear

sekido, turns his rage onto the other clones and demons. they are inferior and could not keep you safe like he could

karaku, would love spending time with you, who cares about your. . . very potent blood? he's way more affectionate now that he knows

aizetsu, is (obviously) devastated to learn this. what if he's unable to protect you?. . . like karaku, he likes to be near you, laying his head on your lap when he can for comfort.

urogi, adores you! being a marechi doesn't really change a thing about what he thinks

zohakuten, is the one who can 'actually' protect you and makes it his sole purpose. after all, you do mean everything to him, its his job to do so.

when the clones learn about your blood, everything seems to be scaled up to 100 with them. . .

ugh! this is perfect! perfect! PERFECT!

it took him a moment too long to catch onto that-- particular smell that always followed you. he was always too preoccupied on his work or trying to garner your attention to realize it!

then it hit him like a pile of bricks.

you were a marechi! his own one of a kind work of art!

your blood crafted by the gods themselves and blessed upon him! of all people!

like the ❛true work of art❜ you are, he likes to flaunt and taunt the other demons with his relationship to you. (would definitely do that thing where he hides behind you and sticks his tongue out at them)

his body/tail is almost always encircling you (protective or possessive gesture? . . . maybe a bit of both)

i mean, in his eyes, you've always carried unique + immense beauty; but to have all the other demons jealous of him is the cherry on top! for a while (maybe a few decades or so) you and your presence become his ultimate muse

conflicted about the fact when he finds out.

what is he supposed to do with you now? of course, of course! on top of being flawless in his eyes you're also a damned marechi! ACTUALLY FLAWLESS

(he's pissed off + currently picking the hell out of his skin with anxiety and frustration)

how could you hide something like this from him?! then, he calms down as ❛all is revealed to him❜

you're his, plain and simple. what's there to be jealous or insecure about? the problem (in his mind) lies within the other demons

currently: a little more clingy and teasing towards you. definitely likes to try and embarrass you by showering you with affection

overall, just indulging in your presence.

would not be able to tell on her own that you're a marechi, and when she learns that you are-- its like a dark heavy veil falls upon her: ❛you. . . WHAT?!!!❜

would try to bite you, and there's like a 50/50 chance she regrets the thought. or actually does it. . .

hopes you'll ❛get over it❜ and come cuddle with her again ♡

without a doubt, she thinks no one could over-power her to get to you (when/if proved wrong) she starts to cry because 1, she's weaker than she thought and 2, because what's going to happen to you if she can't protect you?

if she did ask her brother for help, she'd actually doubt him too. would gyutaro try and take you? because she'd fight with him too. . . just wouldn't want to resort to that.

she's not overtly possessive, but your dead wrong if you think she wouldn't be the literal embodiment of jealousy

is over protective, to the point of casual violence (will casually slice up a demon that thinks you'd make a good meal)

besides the effect it has on other demons, rui doesn't seem to mind in the slightest. from the smell to the physical effects your blood has on him. . . its pretty minimal

but he can always be jealous-- and petty (he's 100% smiling at the prospect of fighting other demons over you)

really. he wouldn't allow anything to separate you from him. not because of anything. so your stuck with him, marechi or not.

initially thinks that this is a WONDERFUL revelation!

then he's internally conflicted by the idea of eating you or spending his life with you. and will be for a long time.

and does revel in the fact that he can just openly lay on you, bothering and being as close as possible to you!

wants to spend a ton of time with you now that he knows + starts asking questions

gets nervous. extremely nervous- and angry, to the point that he's shaking with anxiety.

at first, the sight of you bedridden makes him frown. and he'll do it often too.

he's lost a ton of people he cares about, your not going to be next.

although he tries to act angry, or short with you sometimes. . . its just to cover up the fact that he's terrified of losing you. (or the prospect of it)

he'd like to be next to you at any given moment, grabbing you warm food and tucking you in to the point you can't squirm out. anything. but he just- he can't

hell, he'd take the pain from you if he could, without an ounce of hesitation. . . but he can only watch and wait. . . until you get better.

but most times he physically can't be there.

the nights he has to be away from you, he's carrying out missions for the corps and cutting/beating down anyone that gets in his way.

everyone feels his uncertainty and rage:

in the way he overkills those poor lesser demons, the way he shoves the kakushi out of his way, and going as far as fighting another hashira over it

like his violent outbursts- it's literally out of his control, on top of the fact that he can barely care for you himself when you need him most.

what was the point of getting so strong? those years of training. what was the point if he was so helpless?

when he gets the chance too (after a long night of work that has his muscles seizing) he'll climb into bed with you and just hold you.

listening to your unsteady breathing, and when he's sure your in a deep sleep, he'll cry.

soundlessly, but his body is shuddering with silent pain. . . and he's trying not to let his tears fall on you but. . . he's really:

❛sorry. i'm so sorry❜

eventually, he feels he owes it to you to explain all of his frustrations, and worries.

he waits until you wake up, waiting the whole night without budging or even thinking about falling asleep.

and when you wake up, he whispers it to you, hugging you tightly so you can't see his eyes watering up or his teeth grinding against each other. he feels like an entire idiot explaining it to you.

afterwards, takes a deep (shaky) breath and kisses you tiredly. who cares if he gets sick too, he's too tired to care.

he's been around sickness.

he knows the signs. and he knows how to treat most things; come fevers, chills, aches, he can handle it.

what he can't handle, is how it makes him so uneasy.

when you get sick, its one of the few times you ever see him so serious and solemn.

feeding you, helping you bathe, cuddling up to you for body heat and comfort. anything you need, he'll try to be a whim away.

kyojuro knows a bad morale won't do any good for you, so, like always, he'll try to be the ray of sunshine you need. . .

but it breaks his heart every time.

when your sore throat breaks, when you groan from the aches, wince at the pain in your head. . . the fact you can never be comfortable despite everything he tries.

you'll see it too. in his face. the slight knot in his brows, the way his lips are pressed tightly together.

he's just so helpless, forced to watch and wait while your health is on the line.

kyojuro goes in and out of your room, fetching water for you, or soup- whatever helpful excuse he can make up- to go somewhere quiet and cry his heart out.

like the snap of his fingers, he's a little kid all over again. it reminds him so much of his mother.

its hard to pull himself together. he's rarely cried so hard before, so he sucks at covering it up. (his eyes would be puffy and his nose a little runny) at that point you'd think he was sick too

he always tries to hold you hand, squeezing you palm tightly in his. and he hopes its as reassuring to you as it is to him.

because he needs it to.

falls asleep next to you from exhaustion. (he's sitting next to you, head resting on the mattress) and somehow wakes up at the slightest noise you make-- despite his ear being partially deaf.

he always goes the extra mile to get your medicine, dedicated to you and your health.

tries to remind himself that it will be okay (and he tells you that often to) but it can hardly shake the worry and dread off his heart.
