Idk if this is how you make requests but can you do the apple cabbage stew from skyrim?
Hi! Yes this is how I receive messages. Iāve actually done a version before but it tasted terrible š so I didnāt post it. If I manage to make a better one (approved by the kids) I will post it!
Apologies to everyone for not posting again, RLās been rather overwhelming.

Soba salad bento for the Bottomless Pit who needs to eat healthier in my new metal-bamboo bento box which I got as a freebie.
I put the dressing of truffle white soy sauce and olive oil in a re-used chicken essence bottle so itās easier to carry around.
Konbu ribbon and truffle white soy sauce from Daiso.
(Chicken Essence is a traditional health supplement, kinda tastes like extremely concentrated chicken soup)

Whoās excited for season 2?
The Salmon Dish from SPY X FAMILY (that tastes like a kiss)
Iāve loved the manga ever since it came out, and glad that thereās an anime now so that thereās more merch! The latest chapters of Loidās past were really heartwrenching. Glad that a second season has been announced!
Hereās an easy recipe for the salmon dish that apparently tastes like a kiss. The official cafe has it just as marinated smoked salmon, but I was wondering what kind of European dish it could also be, (because smoked salmon doesnāt require ācookingā) when I stumbled on this jar of tartare sauce on sale, and decided to do a recipe along the lines of what was shown on the jar.
Ingredients
- Salmon slices
- Tartare Sauce
- Salt, to taste
- Lemon Wedge
Method
1. Sprinkle salt on the salmon slices.
2. Line a tray with baking paper and bake the salmon gently at 150-180 Celcius for around 8 minutes, or until the salmon doesnāt look transparent anymore.
3. Remove from oven, and garnish with Tartare Sauce and a Lemon Wedge!
4. Enjoy!
5. Kiss Loid for making such a delicious dish.
(Also, this is the hottest Yuri since Yuri(s) on Ice)

Singapore Food (in Manga/Anime) Appreciation Post!
(Also: Onion Chopping Ninja Reveals Her Timezone!)
Itās Singaporeās National Day today (9th Aug) and I was going to do a Singaporean-based Recipe, (like Hayamaās Curry Fish Head), but didnāt have time to, so hereās a Singapore Food in Manga/Anime Appreciation Post - from Kuragehime, Shokugeki no Souma, and Addicted to Curry!
The Singaporean food that is usually shown in manga/anime is usually either curry-based or chicken rice. And of course, I donāt usually make them at home because: 1. Theyāre easier to make in bulk 2. You can get them cheaper outside 3. My version would pale in comparison to the mastersā 4. It requires hours of preparation, except for some of the easier curry dishes in Addicted to Curry. (A manga cap of the recipe is above!)
Addicted to Curry lists Singapore as Curry Central, and I never realized how true that was until I went abroad for a couple of years and missed how we would just drown everything in curry, especially for mixed rice dishes like Chap Chye Png and Nasi Briyani. There was also a huge uproar when McDonaldās ran out of Curry Sauce for McNuggets (they have since started selling it in bottles), and a near-riot when a neighbour complained about the smell of another neighbour cooking curry. Also, Gordon Ramsay canāt beat our laksa, even though I think that particular store he challenged isnāt the best one.
(Not everything is curry, of course, but if thereās no curry, generally, there must be chili. And woe betide those who eat the wrong kind of chili with the wrong kind of food. And hereās a PSA for foreigners - Chili Crab is largely for tourists. Take Black Pepper Crab or Salted Egg Crab instead. Itās possible to live as a weak sauce who canāt take spicy foods here, but less exciting. )
Happy 51st Birthday, Singapore! Hereās to the spread of our food all over the world! And a birthday wish would be for more kinds of our food to be shown in manga/anime. :D - O.C.N.
PS: By the way, Eizan Senpai, you can get Hainanese Chicken Rice for $3, and it is considered Street Food even though there are $30+ versions at hotels. Never eaten one with Jidori Chicken, though.

Kaiseki with Rescued Food ę®ćē©ć®ćććć
The kaiseki-inspired meal that I attempted to cook out of mainly rescued ingredients!
In the past few years, Iāve been thinking a lot about sustainability and getting to know the local food rescue scene, and the opportunity came to cook with this theatre group called The Theatre Practice! There was no Hassun or sashimi course, of course, but I tried my best to stick to the flow of the kaiseki dishes. :))
1. Sakizuke (Appetizers)
- Rescued Edamame
- Kinpira Rescued Bottlegourd and Carrot
2. Yakimono (Grilled Dish)
- Rescued Teriyaki Tempeh as seen in Shokugeki no Souma
3. Nimono (Simmered Dish)
- Simmered shiitake mushrooms with rescued Daikon
4. Agemono (Fried Dish)
- Sakura Korokke, made of rescued beetroot, rescued potatoes, and rescued green peppers. The insides turned pink with the beetroot so I called it a sakura korokke, heh.
5. TomezakanaĀ (Vinegar Dish, before the rice course)
-Vinegared Konbu with a umeboshi I found in Daiso. The Konbu was used to make dashi for a lot of dishes! So itās a great way to repurpose it.
6. Shokuji (Rice Set)
- Rice with rescued Edamame
- Nukazuke with rescued daikon and rescued cucumbers (Recipe from Shinya Shokudo here)
- Miso soup with rescued bittergourd and tofu. (Bittergourd goes well with miso, as Okinawans do it)
7. Mizugashi (Dessert)
- Konnyaku jelly of rescued cucumber, rescued lime, and rescued mandarins. The mandarins were from my fridge XD. This was a surprisingly good one because the cucumbers simmered in the syrup were reminiscent of aloe vera yet crunchier.
I took 2 days leave to do this, but 10/10 would do so again in a heartbeat! I know things like kinpira stuff and korokkes are not usually in kaiseki, but as Iāve had vichyosse in a Kaiseki before I guess modern interpretations have loosened up.Ā

Iāll be making a kaiseki-style vegetarian meal with rescued produce this friday 24 Jun at The Practice Tuckshop, part of The Theatre Practice. Reservations through their FB page here:
https://m.facebook.com/PracticeTuckshop/
Iāve increasingly been concerned about sustainability these past few years, and reducing food waste is definitely one of the ways we can cut emissions. Also, free food, hello?! Min. Donation is 8 Singapore dollars, all proceeds to The Theatre Practice!
Yes, some of it might be anime food.

In memoriam: Fujiko A. Fujio.
Thanks for the childhood memories
Dorayaki from Doraemon (Nyanuary Recipe)
A classic recipe for #nyanuary hosted at @prettycakemachine! Yes, Doraemon is a cat - a robot one that is scared of mice because one chewed off his ears long ago. (And turned him blue instead of yellow.) When not helping Nobita get out of scrapes, Doraemon, or å°å®å½ as I knew him by when growing up, is busy eating a whole mountain of these dorayaki. Many kids dream that their parents will let them eat as much dorayaki, and since youāre an adult, you can finally make that dream come true.
The traditional filling is red bean paste (anko), but Iāve also eaten chocolate and cream ones before. Failing that, youāll just learn how to make a really nice pancake. (pictures from google). I havenāt gotten it perfect yet, so the Bottomless pit can enjoy more attempts as I try to make it a smooth brown, but I guess he has to buy me a new pan first.
Ingredients - for about 8-10 dorayakis
All-purpose flour 160g
Baking powder 1 tbsp
4 eggs
Sugar 120g
Honey 2 tbsp
1 tbsp water
(Optional) - 1 tbsp matcha - doesnāt really change the colour when cooked, but balanced off nicely against the (too sweet i.m.o) red bean paste.
Filling - I used premade anko - which can come in two versions, koshian (smooth), tsubuan (chunky). I used the latter.
Method
Mix the flour and baking powder together.
In a separate bowl, beat the eggs, sugar, and honey together until light - you shouldnāt feel any sugar granules.
Sift in the flour and baking powder mixture, and beat until smooth.
Optional: mix in the matcha powder here too.
Let the mixture rest in the fridge for 10-15mins.
Take out and mix with the extra 1tbsp water.
Preheat a non stick pan on low heat, and put some oil on it. Wipe up and spread with a paper towel. Or, use PAM spray, if it doesnāt cost USD$5 where you are. (Unfortunately, my non-stick pan has become non-non-stick, but this will ensure even browning with proper non-stock pans.)
Using the same ladle every time, scoop the batter onto the pan, and flip over when the sides detach easily. I had a few failures at this point, but they tasted pretty good as pancakes. Cook the other side for a shorter time than the first.
Place a generous dollop of anko on the uglier side of the pancake.
Cover with another pancake, and wrap it up in cling wrap until you want to eat it.. (technique from justonecookbook). Shape it into a rounded pancake. The cling wrap will also prevent the pancake from drying out.
Be a responsible adult and have dorayaki for dinner with milk!
12. Be an even more responsible adult and use it for international relations.

Happy Valentineās Day! And Ren and Kyoko finally confessed about 10 chapters ago after like 20 years.
Wine Jelly from Skip Beat! (Valentineās Day Special!)
Something for valentineās that isnāt chocolate? *Gasp* This is one quick easy recipe if you need to give someone something for valentineās day and havenāt done anything yet!
In the manga, Kyoko was worrying about what to get Ren because he doesnāt eat any of his valentineās chocolate because he canāt eat all of it. She cleverly made this for him so that it circumvented his rule. Sneaky, eh? I really wish this bit made it into the anime but sadly it didnāt :(.
I originally used a nicer-looking glass, but it wouldnāt fit in the fridge and spilled everywhere. So make sure that your glass fits in the fridge before pouring it in!
Ingredients
1 glass of red wine
200ml Apple Juice
2 tbsp brandy
1 pinch cinnamon
1 tbsp gelatin
1 tbsp warm water
Method
Put the wine to heat in a pot on low heat.
After a minute, pour in the Apple Juice and cinnamon.
Meanwhile, let the gelatin soak in the warm water for a few minutes.
When the mixture starts to bubble very slightly, pour in the brandy, and switch off the heat.
Put in the gelatin mix and mix well, until you see no clumps.
Pour the mixture into the wine glasses, and leave it to set for a few hours in the fridge.
Give it to someone and say āBe Wine, Valentineā!

Happy new year everyone!
Weāre slowly moving into our new (government) house, and this is a packed version of Hainanese Chicken Rice (you can find an FFXV recipe of it here) which served as our first meal in that house.
Also pictured is my new rubberwood table (eco-friendly cos itās made of waste wood, basically), and a table runner that looks like a banana leaf.
Hope yall will be seeing more of it this year and may this year be better than 2020 and 2021! Stay safe!

Mammoth Cheese Bowl from Skyrim
Happy Thanksgiving!
The Skyrim Anniversary Edition is out and while there are a bunch of new recipes that I canāt wait to try out alongside Fishing, hereās a Mammoth Cheese Bowl - inspired appetiser or side or your Thanksgiving dinners!
Ingredients
300g (1 pack) mozzerella balls
4 tbsp green pesto
2 tbsp olive oil, more to drizzle as needed
Method
1. In a big bowl, mix the pesto and olive oil.
2. Drain mozzerella balls, add them in, and toss. If needed, add more olive oil (will depend on the viscosity of your pesto but the idea is that this will create the greenish film over the cheese)
3. Multiply by a hundred to get a really Mammoth-sized bowl.
4. Gain 10 Hp and 15 Stamina!
