For the love of god i wish I could understand why it took me so long to get into the Stardew Valley fandom...I had avoided this shit worse than I did with Yuri on Ice and now that I'm hear it got me in a chokehold I've been playing this game with no sleep sobbing over fanfics and art, spam following any artist I can get my hands on...

like take sex pollen. fun trope, sometimes combined with fuck or die - it really ups the ante on what could just be a regular PWP fic with a twist, right?

but the sex pollen fics that I just can't get enough of are the ones where the people involved are really close friends who have mutual crushes that they don't want to admit because the friendship means so much to them and they don't want to make things awkward and then suddenly they get exposed to an alien plant or a magical flower or whatever the catalyst is and they just wanna bang each other into the floor - but they can't do that either because they're such good friends! but omg not doing it hurts so bad and their entire mind, body, and soul is focused on tearing each other's clothes off - but friendship!! ohno! and finally it culminates in them admitting how they actually feel about each other before having the kind of sex that doesn't exist in real life but holy fuck is it fun to read about

Content Warning: This is just a rambling of thoughts about the new game Error143's Micah Yujin and how absolutely amazing he is.

Let's start off easy. Micah, as far as the character's in visual novels, from my experience, is honestly so refreshing. It just feels so lovely to see dark-skinned characters with the ability to be seen as a love interest. The fact that the fan base loves him so much makes me love him even more. I've played quite a few of these, the most recent being Obey Me!, I wasn't a huge fan. Not with how they had set up both of the darker complexion characters. I didn't care for it, but that's for another post.

Micah, while not a new concept in terms of characterization, in terms of portrayal, 's like a cool breeze both in the fandom's reception of him and his characterization in gameplay.

I only started playing a few weeks ago, and I've yet to unlock all the endings, but where I am now, I honestly can say that there need to be more games like this. Simplistic as it feels, I want to see more warmly received dark-skinned characters. I want to see more dynamic characters with all the little nuances in their emotions.

So, to anyone on the fence about the game, go ahead, get it. It's so cute and simple, and with how open it seems in its storytelling, I know that those looking for a new fandom to sink their teeth into, those writing fanfics and OCs, will enjoy this.

Now, onto the actual nonsense that has me up looking at the ceiling at 2am instead of updating any fics that I need to write. 😩😭 ( I am so sorry mid-terms came, and I forgot about it for a moment. I'll be posting a bit of it after this before finishing it up and posting it on ao3)

I am furious

For those of you who do not know, HBO Max had just released a massive list of animation shows that it will be removing permanently from its streaming service. This includes Infinity Train, Mao Mao, Summer Camp Island and OK KO. For a lot of these shows, they can be found nowhere else on the internet apart from pirating sites.

I am beyond angry. I am sick and tired of animation as a medium being treated like shit. We are talking YEARS of animator’s lives being ripped away like they are nothing. This is a genocide of creativity. And as someone who has always dreamed of going into Animation, I feel like I have been shot in the chest. To say that this is disheartening is a gross understatement. It makes me want to throw up to see how my talent and the talent of artists like me and much better than me is treated like garbage.

Animators are not replaceable. You can’t just throw out works of art like this. Animation is such a personal and deeply emotional process, that seeing this purge is absolutely disgusting. I am enraged and scared and fucking PISSED OFF

I feel useless. Cartoon Network is probably going to die soon after this. And I feel like I can do nothing to stop it. This is mainly just a rant. But I am hoping that other people see this and get just as pissed off as I am.
