Okay anon you got me haha, I love this too much not to post.
I just started reading One Piece, and I haven’t met Law yet. But Rachel told me that him and Chopper have something in common and this is my own personal headcanon.

every so often i get the intense urge to write some kind of story about either angels or dragons but then remember i don't have any fucking clue what i'd actually write about, just a loose collection of characters and worldbuilding and speculative biology/character design ideas. they need to add the shinji chair emoji in the next update i need it rn.

There are two different kinds of queer adaptations/retellings of a story. The first kind simply makes characters queer, the second weaves queerness into the THEMES of the story, making a story that is deeply, fundamentally queer.
The Glass Scientists is the latter. It takes the unintentional underlying queerness of the original novella and makes it explicit. Jekyll in TGS made the potion and split Hyde off from the rest of himself because he didn’t want to keep pining for his gay ex-lover anymore, leading to a literal embodiment of everything he’s afraid of embracing, including, no, especially, his queerness. That queerness didn’t go away in Jekyll, but it’s ever more present in Hyde because he embraces it. Hyde isn’t afraid to be chaotically and proudly queer.

arthurian adaptations fail the orkney brothers time and again. gawain is either virtuous or irredeemably sinful there’s never an in between which is where he belongs. he and agravaine are never the foils they should be and neither are nuanced characters at the same time. agravaine is given the murder of morgause which is missing the whole point of his character and that of gaheris. meanwhile…gaheris…exists. he should be gawain’s shadow and the most irritating person to agravaine in the universe. gareth is usually okay but his relationship with his brothers and lancelot needs to be strained to the breaking point, and I also think he should be on good terms with kay instead of framing him entirely antagonistic. mordred needs to be agravaine’s little buddy. it’s one of the best parts of the vulgate and some stories include it but they manipulate each other and that’s the wrong approach. they can’t know what they have is messed up, they don’t see it, they’re just hanging out and people die around them. none of the bros abuse their wives. i cannot stress this enough. non-negotiable. in fact their wives love them all dearly. an acquired taste. if you know you know. thank you.

for the ship hc ask!!
thominho (surprising ik)
5, who’s usually the big spoon and the small spoon in the relationship?
8, who’s the early bird and who likes to sleep in longer?
21, how do they cheer each other up during sad times?
hello there!! /ᐠ≽•ヮ•≼マ Thank you for the obligatory Thominho ask, hehe ✧˚₊‧
(fair warning: lots o' ramblin')
5 – big spoon Thomas my fucking belovedd. I think Thomas naturally adopts the protector role and Minho had it shoved onto him for too long, so the idea of Thomas spooning Minho in Paradise is simply mouthwatering
8 – early bird's gotta be Minho, courtesy of being a Runner. He also likes watching the sun rise over the sea, the way the water glistens gold, and how Paradise hums to life as the Immunes gradually wake up. (Also Thomas will smack Minho's face like the snooze button on an alarm clock whenever he tries to wake him up)
21 – Thomas really likes cuddling/physical intimacy so, when he's sad, Minho gives him little kisses and hugs throughout the day. Probably settles down with him on the couch, cuddled under a blanket (that he put in the dryer for 10 minutes to warm up), eating ice cream and watching a shitty rom-com movie.
21 – Minho likes spending time with Thomas and just being reminded (not necessarily directly) that Thomas loves him. So when he's down, Thomas drags him out to the coast for a walk. They hold hands and talk about anything and everything and nothing at all, meaningless conversations full of love. They watch the sun set, and they watch the water glisten gold.

Exploring dark, toxic and otherwise unfavourable subjects isn't something that should be discouraged amongst writers and authors. These subjects have produced a multitude of classics and critically acclaimed works such as A Clockwork Orange and American Psycho.
The problem with the modern toxicity in the booktok/booktube YA favourites is the lack of nuance and tone.
These darker subjects, written to be palatable for adults by adults, aren't appropriate for such a broad age demographic as YA.
They go unchallenged with little to no commentary on the subject itself, which leads the work into meta romanticism (which I define as the romanticism of the act and/or subject outside of the fictional work and subjective narrative).
There's no nuance that requires the reader to re-evaluate their views or cause them discomfort. Reading is an emotional experience, and dark subjects should trigger negative responses.
Darker subjects can be included in romances and adventures, as long as you make time to explore them -- all of them, from the build up to the climax to the aftermath. If you can't or won't follow through with the whole thing, it will become meta romanticism and that's not only toxic itself but lazy.
Portraying in-world romanticism of the darker subjects whilst also avoiding romanticising it to your readers is incredibly difficult and shouldn't be added to novels that you'd rather focus on something else. Make sure you know how you want the subject to come across before you commit yourself to writing it.
Booktok/booktube needs to stop fawning over authors who are romanticising the dark subjects in their stories both in and outside the narrative. Yes, reading should be fun, but when we read too much of something we either become desensitised to it or we normalise it.
With booktok/booktubes obsession with certain romantic dynamics, the results of seeing these pairings as "goals" could be damaging.

I think I made his hands too chunky but I’m not mad about it haha Also I thought he deserved a button down sweater.
The art itself doesn’t fit the prompt but I wanted to show my gratitude to you in some small way for all you do for the lgbt+ community in this little fandom. It truly means me the world to me and so many others!!

Alright but is anybody else scared for Will in this new book. No, Nico can’t be happy and all of that nonsense, but because Will is a child of Apollo. Like do you think he needs sunlight? And Tartarus doesn’t have any natural light. Do you think that’s how it works or what?

Fuck it. Here's the oneshot I've mentioned
Summary: We're two weeks after the events of "Exes and Oohs", and Millie has been kidnapped. She's grudgingly enjoying solitary confinement in the world's dustiest yet simultaneously most pristine dungeon when an unlikely face from her past comes sauntering in; against her protests he decides to stick by like a leech, and they end up having a surprisingly genuine conversation years in the making.
Not a confession and… kind of critical?? Might qualify as a fix-it?? Honestly just wanted to give Millie the lore she was robbed of in that episode, as well as do a fun little show-don't-tell exercise. (Also, Chaz has a character now beyond walking penis gag. Sort of.)
