Sailor Moon Prism on Ice is now cancelled
Originally scheduled for 2020, the Ice show was postponed 3 times and was expected to finally happen on June 2023, but it's now been officially cancelled.
The official website apologizes to the fans, but circumstances made it so it wasn't possible to prepare the staff and performers (which included international skaters) on time for the show. Two special illustrations by author Naoko Takeuchi were shared, and they informed that exclusive merchandise intended for the venue will be sold at a later date.

Prism on Ice
Prism on Ice was meant to be an ice skating show featuring Sailor Moon. Then COVID hit and there were so many delays until the show was canceled and merchandise was released.
I bought a set of clear files with the original artwork.

Sailor Moon Name Meanings: 10 Main Sailor Senshi Edition
Most of the names in Sailor Moon are packed full of meaning, so I've decided to do a series of posts examining each name's etymology! Let's start with the main Sailor Senshi themselves.
Usagi Tsukino: “Rabbit of the Moon”
Usagi’s name is packed full of symbolism, as it directly references the East Asian legend of the “rabbit on the moon.” If you look at the full moon and observe its darker areas contrasted against the white ones, you may see the shape of a rabbit standing over a mortar with a pestle. According to folklore, this rabbit is making anything from the elixir of life to simple mochi.
It’s not just Usagi’s name that references this legend. Her odango hairstyle is meant to resemble rabbit’s ears (although this is far more obvious with Chibiusa), and many of her belongings feature cute pictures of bunnies. Unlike real rabbits though, Usagi hates carrots!
Ami Mizuno: “Asian Beauty of Water”
Time to clear up a misconception I myself have spread in the past. Ami’s name does not mean “Friend of Water,” it actually means “Asian Beauty of Water” according to the kanji in her name. Although Rei is commonly seen as the traditional Japanese beauty of the bunch, Ami isn’t far behind!
Of course, “Water” is a reference to Sailor Mercury’s powers over water and its different forms (ice and gas/fog). Apart from having powers over water, Ami is shown to love water in her civilian life, being an avid swimmer. Finally, Mercury in Japanese is “Suisei,” or “Water Star.”
Rei Hino: “Spirit of Fire”
Rei’s name reflects her status as the most spiritual of the Senshi, being a miko who is capable of using special powers (her psychic and purification powers) even when she’s not transformed. “Spirit of Fire” even brings to mind one of her special abilities, which is divining the future by meditating and staring into flames.
Of course, the “Fire” also references how Sailor Mars is the Senshi of Flames and Passion, being the Sailor Senshi who has mastery over fire. Finally, Mars in Japanese is “Kasei,” or “Fire Star.”
Makoto Kino: “Sincerity of Wood”
“Makoto” can have a number of different meanings, and we don’t 100% for sure know which one Mako’s is because her name is in hiragana. However, the fandom has largely chosen to go with the meaning of “sincerity.” This is a very suitable name for Mako, as she is one of the most sincere and honest characters in the entire series.
“Kino” means “of wood.” Although Sailor Jupiter is commonly associated with electricity, her powers really encompass nature as a whole. In the manga/reboot anime, she has a number of attacks that involve plants. Finally, the Japanese name for Jupiter is “Mokusei,” or “Wood Star.”
Minako Aino: “Beautiful Child of Love”
Minako’s name is very straightforward, being a reference to the mythological goddess Venus- the Roman goddess of love and beauty. Out of all the Senshi, Minako/Sailor Venus by far has the most associations with the deity who is the namesake of their guardian planet. In Codename: Sailor V, she is even outright stated to be the incarnation of the goddess Venus.
Out of all the Senshi, Minako is the only one who does not have a reference to the Japanese name of her planet in her name. In Japanese, “Venus” is called “Kinsei,” which means “Metal Star.” Although this is referenced in her powers (in the manga/reboot anime, Venus uses her metallic chain as well as a sword to attack), the reason why it’s not reflected in her name is probably because she was the very first Sailor Senshi created and Naoko Takeuchi hadn’t hammered out the naming scheme yet.
Chibiusa: “Small Rabbit”
“Chibiusa” is actually a nickname given to the girl when she arrived in the 20th century; her birth name is “Princess Usagi Small Lady Serenity.” Introducing herself as “Usagi,” she quickly got the name “Chibiusa” to distinguish her from the first Usagi (who, unbeknownst to her at the time, was her mother). It’s an appropriate nickname, as it basically just means “the smaller Usagi.” The same symbolism behind Usagi’s name applies here as well.
Setsuna Meioh: “Moment Dark King”
“Setsuna” means “moment” or “instant,” which is fitting for a character so heavily associated with time. “Setsuna” also sounds very similar to “setsunai,” which while difficult to get an exact translation of, basically means a strong mix of happiness and sadness. Think nostalgia, bittersweetness, sweet sorrow, etc. Again, this is very fitting for Setsuna, who is noted by other characters to appear slightly sorrowful at all times but still carries out her duties with pride.
“Dark King” is a reference to the Roman god Pluto, the namesake of Sailor Pluto’s guardian planet and the god of the underworld. While Sailor Pluto is most often associated with time, she is also referred to as the “Senshi of the Underworld” and some of her attacks (such as Dead Scream) are related to the underworld. Also, “Dark King” starts a naming convention with the Outer Senshi (sans Hotaru) who all directly reference their planet’s mythological namesakes in their family names.
Haruka Tenoh: Distant Sky King
“Haruka” can have a few different meanings, but our Haruka’s name means “distant” or “far off” (Haruka’s name, like most of the Senshi, is written in hiragana instead of kanji, meaning that its exact meaning is ambiguous). This reflects her initially standoffish, aloof nature and how she first presents herself to the Inner Senshi.
“Sky King” is a reference to the Roman god Uranus, the namesake of Sailor Uranus’s guardian planet and the primordial deity who represents the sky. Sailor Uranus’s powers are related to wind and the sky, making this a fitting tribute.
Michiru Kaioh: Rising Sea King
“Michiru” is a name that has nuance to it. I used “rising” here, but it can also translate to “mature,” “complete,” etc. The impression that “Michiru” gives off is a fulfilment of growth, like hopes that have been nurtured. Of course, this is extremely fitting for our Michiru. Like the rest of the Outer Senshi, she is very mature and is initially further along in her development as a Senshi than the Inners. I also like the term “rising” in particular, as it gives off the imagery of ocean waves as well as hinting that Michiru’s maturation and growth is still ongoing.
“Sea King” is a reference to the Roman god Neptune, the namesake of Sailor Neptune’s guardian planet and the god of the ocean. Sailor Neptune has powers over the sea, making it obvious where Naoko Takeuchi made mythological connections.
Hotaru Tomoe: Firefly Sprouting From Earth
Unlike the other Outer Senshi, whose names have significance from Greek/Roman mythology, Hotaru’s name is rooted in Japanese symbolism. In Japanese folklore, fireflies are thought to be the carriers of the souls of the dead (more specifically, the souls of soldiers who died in war). This is very fitting symbolism for Sailor Saturn, the Senshi of Death and Rebirth; in the manga and Crystal, Hotaru is even shown carrying and guarding the souls of the Inner Senshi. Other symbolism for fireflies is that they are beautiful and burn bright, but are short-lived; this is again fitting for Hotaru in her original life, as her life was doomed to be cut short before she was fortunately reborn.
The ”earth” (as in “dirt,” not the planet Earth) kanji in “Tomoe” is a reference to the planet Saturn, which in Japanese is called the “Earth Star” ("Dosei"). The planet Saturn has been known since ancient times, whereas the planets beyond it were only discovered thanks to modern telescopes. This is reflected in their Japanese names, as Saturn follows the traditional Japanese planet naming scheme of “element + star” whereas Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto are named following the same Roman mythological naming convention that Western astronomers used (“Neptune” being “Sea King Star,” etc).

Kousagi Tsukino
The brain rot shows no signs of stopping. Sailor Parallel Moon. I am adopting her bc I don’t like how her friends made fun of her eating sweets. I also redesigned her a bit bc her buns were bothering me, and I wasn’t too big on her overall design.
I don’t think Sailor Moon should be treated like Naruto or DBZ… it should have an ending. So Kousagi has no real reason to exist. Buuuuut I think it’ll be fun to write more Sailor Senshi goodness and have her explore different topics, like preteen/early teen life as a senshi, and the difficulties of needing to form your own opinions off of your own observations, and not just off what your parents told you.
Serenity is great, but there’s still plenty of knowledge she lacks. As Queen of the moon, her daughters should expand on alternatives — Chibiusa continuing the legacy of Sailor Moon and Kousagi being a traveling form of Kubo Hope so that all the Senshi have something to help guide them — a shooting star, as it were. I think it would also be cute for Kousagi to have Princess Serenity’s lost traits — ice skating and overall polite, Princess-like etiquette.
I’m an avid lover of the 90s anime soooo if I get some things wrong/innacurate I NO CARE.
[ID: Kousagi Tsukino, or Sailor Parallel Moon, ice skating. Her pale pink hair is pulled into a total of four buns, two to look like rabbit ears and the smaller buns under to look like fur tufts of the ears. In her buns are rabbit embellishments and jewels.
Her sailor uniform consists of the colors pink, blue, and yellow, with round, bouncy elbow pads and round shoulders. Blue ribbons adorn both her front and back.
She wields the Future Parallel Moon Scepter (name still pending) — the essence of the silver crystal powers it. On one end, a large crescent moon. Wings decorate the scepter.

It is cool though. That while Anime is seen as this foreign thing, alien to us in the west, a lot of titles took inspiration from other countries and even shared in our music. Cross-cultural moments are nice to hear about.

Shadows of Chat Blanc
Sometimes, Marinette dreams of going on dates with Chat Noir. Always, Chat Noir is a true romantic, whispering sweet nothings in her ear.
Once, Chat Noir promised her something that made the blood in her veins freeze. "I would even give you the moon, princess."
Her dream changed. She wasn't with Chat Noir anymore, somebody else greeted her. His smile never reached his icy blue eyes, so unlike her kitty. And yet, all the same. "I did good, didn't I? I gave you the moon, purrincess, I did good, right?!"
It was a cool evening, but his arms around her allowed Marinette to feel none of the chill.
Paris was quiet, a serene city plagued by chaos and nightmares during the day to be granted some respite in the evenings.
Sometimes, Marinette wished this moment could last forever.
The warmth of her kitty left her when he stood up, standing on top of her balcony railing and offering her his hand with a kind smile. “Just say the word princess and I’ll grant you any wish.”
A smile lit up her face and Marinette took Chat Noir’s offered hand. “Silly kitty, what if I ask for something impossible?”
Chat Noir leaned his head down, grabbing both of her hands into his own to pepper gentle kisses on her knuckles. “I would even give you the moon.”
Marinette smiled, leaning in to kiss him sweetly when ice rushed down her spine like lightning.
The moon.
Behind Chat Noir, the image of the brightly shining moon flickered.
Distorted.
Disappeared.
“No.”
Something snapped, a distant image filled Marinette’s mind.
A dream.
A vision.
A memory.
The warmth of her evening date with Chat Noir disappeared, replaced by the rush of harsh winter prickling her skin like sharp blades.
A soft thud behind her alerted her of another’s presence and when Marinette turned around, she swore the cold around her froze her very blood.
Standing before her isn’t Chat Noir anymore, but Chat Blanc.
Striking green eyes became piercingly blue, betraying the pain and anger that consumed him. That plagued him.
Chat Blanc offered Marinette his hand, a distorted mirror image of her kitty from mere moments before. But his smile was pained, drawn tight over the corners, all teeth.
No warmth.
“I did good, didn’t I?” his words struck her chest like a physical blow.
“…What?” Marinette shook her head, the burn in her eyes worsening when she spotted the rising water consuming the buildings. The floating bodies.
A haunting laugh.
“Here purrincess, I gave you the moon. I did good, didn’t I?”
A dull thumping sound echoes in Marinette’s ears and she realized Chat Blanc had grabbed one of her hands, like Chat Noir had done, only he didn’t kiss her hands, he pressed them over his heart. Each pulse a reminder of the agony that coursed through his veins, a desolate existence, where warmth and life have been extinguished, replaced by the unbearable chill that grips him from within.
A chill that threatened to consume her whole.
Marinette wrenched her hand away, stumbling backward.
Chat Blanc’s eyes narrowed at Marinette’s silence and actions. He crawled towards her form on the ground, claws digging into her arms as he gripped her close. “I did good, didn’t I?! Wasn’t this what you wanted?!”
His maniacal laughter drowned out all the alarm bells ringing in her mind, the icy shower covering her body replaced with the white-hot pain of Chat Blanc’s claws digging into her arms.
His shoulders suddenly slumped low, the world was silent until Chat Blanc lifted his head again, stark white hair falling into icy blue eyes.
Hollow.
“I said I did good, isn’t that right, little bug?” Chat Blanc traced his fingers across her jaw and gripped her chin, the claws nicking her skin, a river of blood trailing down her neck.
Chat Blanc licked his lips at that, Marinette swallowed thickly.
“I did everything you told me to, Marinette!” Chat Blanc’s voice filled with malice as it taunted her.
This is all your fault!
When Marinette found her world changing again, she woke up in her room, her bed damp with cold sweat.
When her eyes landed on Tikki sleeping peacefully, her body finally relaxed, evidence that her recurring nightmare didn’t turn into reality.
Again.
Gazing out through her window, Marinette’s gaze stayed transfixed on the source of the white glow that illuminated the dark night sky.
The moon.

Sailor Moon Rewatch Week 11 (March 11-17):
037: Let's Become a Princess: Usagi's Bizarre Training
Well, if Usagi's supposed to he a proper princess, one supposes she ought to learn proper princess etiquette! So really, she has no choice but to attend a local finishing school where she can sit around wearing pretty dresses eating fancy foods and chatting away. Turns out it's not so easy to pass the course, though… and strange things happen to the girls who do.
038: The Snow, the Mountains, Friendship and Monsters
Vacation TWO! Usagi hears of a Snow Princess skiing competition and figures she must be a shoo-in since, y'know, she's an actual princess. Turns out it doesn't work that way, while Rei is the real queen of the slopes, and also Yuuichirou’s family is secretly loaded.
039: Paired with a Monster: Mako, the Ice Skating Queen
Luna and Artemis reveal ice skating was a popular sport in the Silver Millennium, so Usagi takes to the rink and lands straight on her butt. Princess Serenity was supposed to be a great skater, but Makoto is the one who takes to it naturally, even catching the eye of handsome pro figure skater Mischa - and his jealous partner, Janelyn.
040: The Legendary Lake Yokai: The Bond of Usagi's Family
The Tsukinos are taking a family vacation to an idyllic mountain hotspring, where a local legend tells of a monstrous creature trapped beneath the lake. Endymion is intrigued as to whether this monster's power could be harnessed by the Dark Kingdom.

AxZ Week Day 5: Poetry

In Silver Millennium, Serenity hands her a slip of parchment, claiming she found it tucked into the hollow of a tree where she had met with her beloved Endymion (she suspects that she was simply playing matchmaker).
The words compare her to a pool of water on a hot day, keeping refreshing, serene, and reflective in pleasing rhyme and meter.
Though it’s short, it’s words stir something in the princess of Mercury and she wishes to know who made such lovely phrases on the tiny blue planet that Serenity is so fond of.
Soon, Serenity brings her more messages that flatter her about her mind and her ambitions, mentioning her beauty to punctuate the writer’s fascination with her.
She never finds out who it is, though. The Silver Millennium falls soon after.
He’s in the library, looking for inspiration for a new energy gathering scheme for their great ruler. His last plan had backfired spectacularly (Video rental stores were not an antiquated idea; it was novel and retro!) and he was going to find something full proof. Beryl was getting impatient.
He pulled a book from the shelf and opened it. A piece of loose-leaf paper, folded into eighths fell from between.
Curious, he picked it up and unfolded it.
I wish to share my words, read the lines of text, to let others know my dreams.
The words stir something in Zoisite and, against his better judgement, pulls out a pen and scrawls a reply, trying to match the number of syllables and give it some kind of rhyme scheme.
Your words have found me now, and filled my heart to the seams.
It’s a simple poem, nothing he’d want to show anyone, but at least he got it out of his system. Putting the paper in between the pages of the book, Zoisite puts the book back and heads for the music section. He’d always been interested in that, so maybe something would inspire him.
Just as he turned the corner, a girl with short dark hair and blue eyes turned the corner and took the book he had just replaced.
The two of them stand awkwardly a week after their second (really third) meeting. They could sit down in one of Crown Arcade’s many booths, especially since it was a slow day, but that would mean sitting across from one another or, God forbid, beside one another.
She’s still not sure trusting him is a logical decision.
He’s still not sure if she even wants to talk to him.
The tension is thick and cloying, a sensation like wearing an old frayed sweater by a campfire.
“So… um… you like to read?”
It’s a dumb question. Between the three books she’s carrying and the reading glasses in her pocket, anyone could see that.
“Yes,” she answers simply. There’s no malice in her voice, but no feeling either. It’s a simple fact.
He retreats to his room when he returns home, trying to write his heart out on a yellow legal pad and trying to take his mind off how Mizuno could even tolerate him ever again.
It’s all chicken scratch though. Even simple fluff poems about flowers being pretty seem to be hard for him to write.
A call from his prince draws him out of his stupor and into battle against a leftover creature.
It’s a bulky, bulbous monster called a Daimon that was apparently made by science.
“Are we winning?” Nephrite calls after his sneak attack completely fails.
“Do you want the truth or one of those little white lies to make you feel better?”
Jadeite’s frustration is understandable, if the improvised bandage on his leg is anything to go on. Mars’s fire seems to have no effect on the creature, Tuxedo Kamen and Sailor Moon are pinned by the Daimon’s onslaught with Nephrite and the other senshi are still trying to make their way across town.
“Mercury Aqua Rhapsody!”
Glittering streams of water streak at the creature, enveloping it in ice and suddenly, Zoisite’s mind fills with descriptions for the attack and for the trickling otherworldly harp strings that accompany it.
Even when Sailor Moon purifies the creature in a dazzling display, Zoisite’s attention is still on the Senshi of Water.
The muse has struck him hard and maybe he can work up the nerve to thank her.
She recognizes his words when he submits to her, on a sheet of green paper, a poem about Hermes.
He recognizes her’s when he sees her handwriting in her little blue notebook.
Soon, little notes are passed between them. Verses plucked out of the ether to make little compliments.
Soon, they’re talking at length of wordsmiths and writers; who they like, who has the best descriptions, which would fit with music, which writer sounds like they would have voted for Shinzo Abe. Soon, it grows more intimate. Love poems, shared between the two of them, games that become heated the more passionate the poetry.
And the two of them begin to wonder when their games will be played to a work of their own composition.

Sailor Moon Classic Episode 39.
I am of the opinion that, in the anime canon, there is no meaningful distinction between Usagi and Princess Serenity’s personalities. Whilst this is not exactly realistic given that Usagi and Serenity would’ve grown up in very different circumstances, I believe based upon everything we know of Serenity in the anime canon her personality is identical to Usagi’s; at least within the context of the situations we see her in. The fact that Usagi literally transforms into Princess Serenity in the anime, but is not acting in ways that are any different from how she acted when not transformed into Serenity I think is the proof in the pudding.
So in the anime, Usagi is Serenity and Serenity is Usagi. The unique soul that was once the Moon Princess in the Silver Millennium and is now the ordinary school girl in the 20th century has several indelible and inevitable personality traits that will simply always be there, regardless of any other traits she might also develop from the environment she grows up in.
The counterargument to this however is episode 39 of the original 1992 Sailor Moon anime. In this episode we are told/shown Princess Serenity was great at ice skating but Usagi clearly sucks. Serenity was a dignified elegant Princess and Usagi...ain’t...
So...checkmate right?
Well...allow me to propose a theory.
So, first of all we could simply state that the gravity on the Moon and Earth are simply different. Whilst the Moon of Sailor Moon’s universe is different to the real one in that it has Earth-like gravity and a breathable atmosphere,* there is no guarantee that the gravity is identical. This might then account for why Usagi is so clumsy in general compared to the other Senshi, who originate from celestial bodies much larger than the Moon and therefore might have gravity that is more similar to Earth’s.**
BUT I think there is a more interesting explanation found deeper in the very same episode. Noticeably, Usagi is still clumsy when on ice even when her physicality is enhanced by becoming Sailor Moon.
That is...until the evil brainwashed Tuxedo Mask shows up.
With his assistance and encouragement Sailor Moon suddenly can skate, and perform pretty advanced feats at that!
Now am I suggesting this is simply ‘the power of love’. Yes and no.
I am not suggesting literal love energy powered up Usagi’s skating skills. Rather, that there was a psychological aspect to her ability to perform.
As many athletes will tell you, their mental state is as critical in their performance as their physical state. Whether a sprinter or a boxer, if their ‘head isn’t in the game’ they are not going to perform at the best of their abilities, indeed they might even have lost before they have begun. The mind and body are, after all, fundamentally linked together.
We have no way of knowing what Princess Serenity’s psychological state was when she was ice skating, but given that the flashbacks depict her as roughly the age Usagi was, is it a stretch to imagine she was at that time in a relationship with Prince Endymion? Especially since in the anime there did not seem to be any kind of taboo about their relationship?*** In other words Serenity is relaxed, she’s perhaps confident, she’s happy, in love, maybe to the point where she feels like she’s ‘floating on air’.
Usagi in episode 39 is none of those things. Whilst she is in love with Mamoru/Endymion/Tuxedo Mask she has been having nightmares about his death and the fall of the Silver Millennium. She is anxious about his safety as he has been abducted and brainwashed by the Dark Kingdom. She wants to get him back but also might have to fight him to do it.**** And she at the same time deeply wishes her life could simply go back to normalcy.
For the perkiness and good humour Usagi is presented with in episode 39, in context she is not deep down a happy bunny at the moment (if you pardon the pun). And a lot of that is directly tied to the state of her relationship with Mamoru at the moment, or lack thereof.
She presumes she will be able to ice skate because Serenity could do it. She is aware that Luna, Artemis and the others are hoping/expecting her to be more of a Princess in order to unlock the Silver Crystal’s power (which seems more of an instinctual thing more than anything else). But putting her mind in the headspace of Serenity is not likely to make Usagi relaxed, happy or tap into some past life muscle memory when you think about it. Because tapping into Serenity’s memories on a subconscious level likely brings into stark relief how much she has lost since then and how shitty the current situation is. The Moon Kingdom is wrecked and her lover has been lost to her again, and this time he isn’t even just dead, he wants to potentially kill her.
Usagi’s mental state however shifts when Tuxedo mask shows up to help her. Whilst she intellectually knows he is still Evil Endymion, in that moment he is helping her, protecting her, even encouraging and complimenting her. So, it’s not a million miles away from when her life was actually good (or at least better), whether that was being blissfully in love with Endymion in the Silver Millennium or at least swooning over the sexy and mysterious Tuxedo Mask as Sailor Moon mere months ago. In this moment Usagi can skate better, that past life muscle memory does kick in because (temporarily) she can feel like everything is better, everything is the way it should be (or closer to how it should be anyway).
I think we can observe a similar phenomenon occurring in episodes 22 and 37. The latter takes place during the Evil Endymion run of episodes where Usagi attempts to train as a princess but proves herself to be a bad ballroom dancer.
However, in episode 22 she danced perfectly competently when her partner was Tuxedo Mask, her past life memories even explictely resurfacing in that moment.
*In the manga the Moon Kingdom existed under an environmental dome but IIRC no such thing was mentioned in the anime.
**Whilst Jupiter is mostly gas, in fiction it has traditionally been depicted as having more gravity because of its size and therefore aliens from Jupiter have been depicted as incredibly strong. E.g. Marvel Comics’ character Charlie-27. This would in turn account for Sailor Jupiter’s super strength. On a side note Jupiter was by far the best ice skater in the Silver Millennium.
***In the manga, it is explicitly stated that it Moon and Earth people fraternising is a sin. Nothing like that exists in the anime however.
****Not for nothing, but the literal episode prior he came very close to harming her directly.

Since this story most closely ties into the gif, I thought I would start with it. Mamoru wakes up alone in a hospital room with no recollection of how he got there and starts to panic, because it reminded him too much of his childhood. That is until Usagi bursts in and makes sure he is ok.
Don't Forget Me - Serenity-hime
Mamoru slips on some black ice while watching Usagi spin around in the freshly falling snow and hits his head, forgetting who he is. With Usagi feeling responsible for him, she tries to help out the best she can, noticing the effect he has on her when he is not hurling insults her way, and hoping that it won't change once he remembers.
Snowy Memories - Le_Serenity
Usagi remembers their past lives and their connection, but has to silently watch while Mamoru goes through his life without her in it and hope for the best.
Forget-me-not - @idesofnovember
This is the most light-hearted story in today's post. After finishing purifying a spirit, Sailor Moon gets hit with its dying curse that promises to take something precious from her.
Nocturne For A Queen / Mercy - @floraone
This is probably one of the best written yet saddest story-sets Flora has. When senshi had to awaken because of a threat, they avoided getting Usagi involved once again because she made a wish to be a normal girl. Even once she was fighting as part of the team, her memories of Mamoru and Endymion were locked away. Except that Mamoru loved her all this time and did his best to shield her from himself, at the cost of his own happiness.
Say You'll Remember Me - @wishwars
This is technically a start of a story that might one day get written in full, but also works as a one-shot. While waiting for Mamoru to show up to their impromptu picnic date, Usagi gets into an accident, causing her to forget whole years of her life.
Just Say Bubbles - @ninjettetwitch
While arguing with Rei, Usagi decides to test the Luna pen to turn herself into the Moon Princess. And then proceeds to break it by accident, getting stuck in her new look. Read on what happens when she tries to protect others from a Youma and gets hurt in the process, losing her memories of who she is while still in disguise.

After one of their worst arguments to date, Motoki makes Usagi go apologize to Mamoru for her insults regarding his upbringing.

Mamoru runs into Usagi, who is clearly feeling down, and eventually convinces her to show him the rest of her drawings during the Doom Tree arc, with an expected effect.

Calling Usagi Tsukino/Sailor Moon a Mary Sue is still wild to me.
It will always be wild to me.
This girl is a clumsy ,lazy crybaby who don't want to fight in the beginning of the series and end up becoming the one who saves everyone asses every single time and willing to lay down her life to protect the people she loves.
She had to LEARN how to fight.
She had to Learn how use the Silver Crystal properly.
She didn't all of a sudden knew how to fight and use the Silver Crystal.
She is nowhere near perfect at all.
I love Princess Serenity but her 90's version is more closer to a Mary Sue than Usagi.
Not PS Manga/ Crystal versions where we do see her personality and see the similarities between her and Usagi.
And her PGSM version. Child! They wasn't playing with that version of her.
Her 90's version just seem perfect with her knowing how ice skate ,pick flowers and the only thing she ever did was to jump off that balcony to join Endymion and got killed. That was the only wreckless and rebellious thing she did really. Because really didn't emphasize the fact that she supposed to sneaked down to earth a couple times like her manga/ Crystal counterpart. We had a bunch of episodes in the 90's anime trying to prove that Usagi was not a mature or elgant as Serenity when it was revealed that she was Serenity.
You don't have to connect with Usagi because when I was younger I didn't but now I do as I gotten older and watch different versions of her.
But to call her a mary sue??

The Solar System's Sailor Senshi's uniforms used to be rather different from each other in the Silver Millennium, with Sailor V's being how Sailor Venus looked. Then Usagi became Sailor Moon, and all the uniforms automatically patterned after ice skating outfits due Princess Serenity's passion for the sport.
Initially Minako is the only one who knows, but she brings it up after the battle with Galaxia because she too wanted an armored outfit.
