Negative.
Despite what you would have thought, you felt a wave of relief wash over you. You heard a knock on the bathroom door that pulled you back to reality and reminded you that your husband was on the other side, also eagerly awaiting an answer. Unfortunately, you knew that his reaction wouldn't be the same as yours.
You opened the door slowly and shook your head as you held out the test to him. He took it gently, his fingers brushing against yours as he looked over the test before turning his attention back to you. He tried to read your expression, and leaned in to press a few soft kisses to your lips.
"Are you okay, sweetheart?" he brushed his thumb over your cheek as you nodded. Suddenly you weren't so sure if you were relieved after all. You did want to have a baby, Steve's baby, but you were terrified of the idea of actually having a baby. It was a complex web of emotions and you couldn't stop the swell of emotions that caused tears to well up in your eyes, "honey."
"I-I don't know, Stevie," you admitted and looked away, not wanting to have a complete breakdown. You knew if you met his eyes, his soft, sweet eyes, you'd cry that much harder, "I-I think I'm alright."
"Hey," he put his finger under your chin and tilted your face up towards him. Your lip trembled as you looked at him and he tutted lightly. He took your hand in his larger, warmer one and started to lightly pull you towards the bedroom, "c'mere."
You sat down at the edge of the bed, hanging your head. Steve got down on his knees in front of you, hands resting on your thighs, "talk to me, sweetheart. What's wrong?"
“Steve,” you put your hand on top of his and gave it a gentle squeeze. You knew what you wanted to say - what you had to say, you just weren’t sure how he would respond. That was the worst part of all, “my first thought was that I was happy it was negative. Relieved.”
“What?” his expression faltered as you looked at him with big, worried doe eyes, “what do you mean? I-I thought…we wanted this? Do you not want to have a baby anymore?”
“N-no, I do,” you promised and he seemed to relax a little, “really. I’m just…getting to this point, where I’m actually testing to see if I’m pregnant makes it seem more real. It is real. But I’m…scared, Stevie.”
“It is scary,” he agreed softly, reaching up to cup your cheek in his hand, “and honestly, I can’t even imagine being in your position, because you’re the one that has to go through a whole pregnancy. I’d probably be more worried if you weren’t nervous, angel.”
“You always know what to say, huh?” you put your hand on top of his and brought it to your lips to press a gentle kiss to his knuckles, “I love you, Steve.”
“I’m your husband,” he grinned; he loved getting to say that and loved telling anyone that would listen that you were his wife, “I’m always here to support you. I love you so, so much.”
“I know,” you slid off the bed and onto the floor, plopping down in front of him. Steve wasted no time in pulling you into his lap and settling his hands on your hips in a firm but gentle grasp, “you are going to be a wonderful father, Steve. Any kid - our kids - are going to be so lucky to call their father. But I…I can’t…I’m worried I won’t be a good mother. I feel like you’re so good with kids and babies - I mean Eddie’s baby adores you and the kids look up to you so much, especially Dustin. And then…there I am. I don’t know if I’ll be a good mom.”
“Baby,” he took your face in his hands and gently peppered soft kisses all over your face, “you are going to be the best mother ever. I have no doubt about that. We are going to be the best parents ever. Or the most metal as Eds would say. You’re going to be the best mom.”
“Steve,” your heart felt like it was full to bursting with his soft words of reassurance. You couldn’t stop yourself from leaning in and kissing him, “I love you. But no one can replace you, Mama Steve.”
“I love you,” a pretty flush of pastel pink welled up in his cheeks as you looked at him with nothing short of pure adoration, “but I mean it, angel. It’s not going to be easy, I mean we’re going to be bringing a whole new human into the world. A human that we’re going to be responsible for…I think we should be nervous. But I also know that together we’ll be able to figure it out. Look at all the shit we’ve gotten through…we can survive a baby.”
“Yeah,” you worried your bottom lip between teeth before nodding, “I think you’re right.”
“Of course I am,” he teased softly before brushing a few rogue strands of hair out of your face, “hey, we’ve got this. I mean it, baby. And if you ever need a boost or a bit of reassurance, you know I’m here for you. Always, my queen.”
“Such a dork. The kids and Eddie have really gotten to you,” you laughed lightly as a few tears rolled down your cheek. He reached up and gently wiped them away, “thank you, Stevie. I…I really can’t wait to have your baby.”
“I can’t wait to get you pregnant,” he leaned in and nudged your nose with his before kissing you softly, “but, if you want to wait a little bit longer, we can do that too. There’s no rush, no need to do this right away. When you’re ready, we’ll do it.”
“I…I think I am ready,” you promised, “I just…as long as you’re with me, I think - I know we’ll be okay. I might just need a little bit of reassurance every now and then.”
“And I’ll be here to give it to you,” you sighed wistfully as you melted into his arms and let him hold you tightly, “I’ve got you, angel, I’ve always got you. I love you.”
“I love you, Stevie.”

The phone rings, in the middle of the night
My father yells, What you gonna do with your life

Getting out of the go kart and taking off my helmet, I look over at Addie and Luce. Grinning at them before saying “Another year and another preseason karting session where Addie loses” the comment has Luce falling to her knees laughing as she is getting out of her kart. Smiling I look back waiting for Addie’s response “Har Har, at least I know that I’ll have the best strategist in Indy Car” she shoots back with a playful roll of her eyes. The statement not being wrong as Addy has won the Indy 500 at least 3 times, and the championship at least twice in ten going on eleven seasons in Indy Car. Every year since Addie started racing in Indy Car we have raced each other in go karts before the season starts. Eleven years down and we are still doing said tradition. More often than not Luce is the one that wins. Both Addie and I always asking her why not join Formula 1 or Indy Car. To which her response is always the same, she would rather be the one to make the fastest car and call the strategies than be the one behind the wheel. The tradition is always fun and releases all the stress and anxiety of a new season. Not knowing how the cars will perform or how the other teams cars will perform. Especially this season with new car, new team, new series.
So immersed in my thoughts I barely heard Addie ask a question.. “sorry, what did you say Ads?” I ask her looking over to my right
To which she playfully turn grinned before shoving her hands in her pockets and slowing asking “How are you feeling about the season?”
“Better, the car looks good, I am excited to get it on the track and test it out.” I say with a shrug
“I think you’ll be great. What do you think of Max as a teammate? Is he nice?” I heard rumblings if some of the drivers not being happy a female is joining the grid.” Luce quietly asked as if nervous about the response
“Yeah he’s nice, he has been super supportive and helpful. I know he gives off this grumpy vibe but he’s been kind. As for the other drivers I have yet to meet the others but I’m sure I will in 2 weeks. So who knows we’ll have to see.” I tell her with another shrug. Not really wanting to think about the reactions of the other teams I will be physically meeting in two weeks.
“I know that Lando and Oscar are excited. Lando has been texting me nonstop. Between talk of the cars and trying to get me to spill all your driving secrets.. kidding on the driving secrets part. But really I think your going to have a wonderful season. Don’t worry about any of the others who are stuck in the past. You have so many people cheering you on, I promise you won’t feel alone” Addie tells me walking over before pulling me in for a hug which turns into a group hug with Luce joining in.
With a shaky voice and on the verge of tears I mumble to the girls “I am going to miss you guys so much when you leave”
“Then we’ll just have to plan out a crazy amount of episodes for the podcast.” Addie states grinning
“Yeah, just think of the content, inside scoop on the f1 grid, Nascar grid and Indy grid” Luce adds laughter in her voice. Bad thoughts and tears forgotten.

First off, all your recent works have been so good! Your art too, it’s all so well done. It’s been so long since I’ve seen anything sally face and it made me go watch some old playthroughs… brought me back to my childhood.
(Also, not sure how I never noticed your creepypasta work? Reignited a few of my childhood crushes.)
I don’t know why but I always get so giddy when I see song lyrics from the songs I recommended being used, I’m so glad you like them as much as I do.
I’m sorry anons are being rude in your messages, I fear they need to relearn the virtue of patience and that you don’t owe them work. I personally am willing to wait however long you need for one of your works (even if it isn’t in a fandom I’m from) because I know your works are always absolutely amazing and nothing short of a masterpiece. <3
Have you listened to Ariana’s new album and Hozier’s new EP? I loved ‘We can’t be friends’, ‘don’t wanna break up again’, ‘boy is mine’, and ‘I wish I hated you’ from Ari’s album specifically, although every song in that album was so good. ‘Too Sweet’ and ‘Fare Well’ were my favorite from Hozier’s album, the guitar in both is just so good.
My recommendation for this time (if you haven’t heard it already) is Luna Day’s ‘Obsessed’ and ‘Say it Back’. Unrequited love songs will always have a special place in my heart.

Okay so…I was only right about a few things XD
Their specific dispute that we saw last season (little mountain lake) WAS actually talked about/ mentioned? But mostly through the red goobler (Chris) explaining it to Jesse when she had her own goobler. I actually liked that him and korvo actually met again so it could be explained that for korvos goobler to disappear he has to get over that specific issue he has (like Jesse did).
Pupa hasn’t called them dads yet, but he acts more of a toddler (and they acknowledge that what their family needs to do is important for the pupa and I like that structure they had) which is AMAZING, because holy shit they act like a family so many times this season 😫💝💕💕 (and call each other a family and it’s amazing 🥺💕💕)

Yumyalack does do his own thing and gets a bit of characterization but nothing else really. The birth a day episode was like a little glimpse of it, however it was very nice :3 and I like the way they’re taking his character.
More screen time DEFINITELY, and FINALLY A MOMENT OF FUCKING PEACE AND TRANQUILITY IN THE WALL THANK FUCKING CHRIST IT WAS A RELIEF. The silvercops also got alot of attention here as well! And it was pretty good; the world that was created by symbolically establishing anti-cop messages (which I LOVE) was amazingly done and I appreciate that they didn’t shy away from showing the ugly side of things (ie. discrimination, violence, gentrification, etc).
The ending of the silvercops plot kinda confused me though like wtf? Uhhhhh what’s happening….?

Not gonna lie the way korvo acts this season makes me wanna punch him, like why is he a dick?? Sure his character in early seasons was grumpy but he never really went out of his way to be an ass, just controlling or salty, but no! The whole goobler thing with him and Jesse and him roasting yumyalack went way too far (in my opinion) and it also just made me uncomfortable like dude, that’s ur kids SHUT THE FUCK UPPP rahhhhhh.
Terry and korvos relationship definitely improves though.
The ending of the season…..*deep breath* I’m mixed about it, like I know it’ll be solved in the upcoming valentines special but a little part of me is worried that it’s just gonna be a “hahah we got you, they’re actually gonna be humans and get discriminated against again” and that makes me scream.
I’m mixed about it because I’m curious about how this’ll work yet I fucking hate how they couldn’t just talk it out at home (like they usually do)

ugh i missed you and our little book club sooo much, but i had to take this week off to focus on my exam, which i don't know how it went yet but i'm so so happy to have gotten it over with.
i remember i read your reply just before said exam and i was literally about to cry, seeing all the love and support from you and the rest of the book club, it was just amazing and really helped me to go through all that stress and pressure🥺♡

strange little question but do you have any pets? cause this week after the exam i came back home to my family and my dog was here waiting for me, ugh i missed her sooo much!!! she brings me so much joy and i think everyone should experience having a pet once in their lives (cat, dog, rabbit, parrot, hamster, duck, whatever you like most) cause they are such good company and so so cuuute and lovely🥺🤎

to answer your question, i’m doing quite well! i’m excited for the week ahead since i have a few fun things planned irl hehe. but work is also good for the most part, even with the people that have been driving me crazy there lately LOL. and yes! i have dogs and cats who are my entire world. i wish i could share a picture of them here bc they’re just too adorable ahjdksksk. they’ve helped me go through a lot these last few years and i can’t imagine living life without my babies 🥺😭
oOo i feel like a lot has happened since we last spoke haha. we have a new nonnie joining our little club named santi! hmm what else… oh, def expect lots of posts over me crying over oscar (what else is new lol). aside from part 3 of cuffed, there hasn’t been a new fic excluding a couple of headcanons and a super short dom!mr. knight drabble 🤭 but of course take your time darling, there’s totally no rush for you to read!

Ahhhh all the SNS updates for Minnie are top notch AMAZING! and fr the teaser pictures/edits are sooo well done. seventeen decided to do such complex concept for this comeback but you seriously pulled it off with Minnie’s teasers.
I’m honestly so excited for seventeens comeback 👏🏽👏🏽 All Hybe comeback/debut this year has been so good so far like TXT GBGB and Le Sserafim fearless. If you haven’t already checked it out, I would highly recommend Open Sequence by TXT in their new album. It’s 🔥🔥🔥
