Steve is worried. He has a first date tonight. A first date with Eddie Munson.
He’s not worried that it’s Eddie. He’s excited about that. He hasn’t felt this way about anyone new since Nancy Wheeler crushed his heart in the fall of his senior year almost two years ago.
He’s worried because for him, dates usually mean dinner, maybe a movie, and then getting hot and heavy in the backseat of his car or, if he’s lucky and his parents are out of town, on the couch in his family room. He’s not worried about the dinner part. He knows he and Eddie can hold a conversation; that’s the good part about being friends first. And it’s not the sex he’s worried about, either; he’s always been good at that. He usually just does what feels good and he can’t imagine it would really be any different with Eddie. He knows it’s going to feel good, he can just tell.
What he’s really worried about are the scars on his side. He can’t do much to hide the scar around his neck, jagged and still pink. He’s resigned himself to strange looks and whispers in the supermarket. But he’s done reasonably well at hiding the, quite frankly, alarming scars that cover the better part of his left side, the skin knotted, raw, and shining. Of course, Eddie knows about them and he knows how Steve got them. Steve knows that Eddie has his own underneath all that denim and leather he’s always wearing, but it’s one thing on Eddie and a completely different thing on Steve.
Steve had watched all summer as Eddie had embraced his scars, calling them badass and doing nothing at all to hide them on days spent by Steve’s pool with the kids. The scars looked good on Eddie, Steve couldn't deny that. But Steve didn’t feel the same about his own and he rarely felt bold enough or confident enough to take his own shirt off, even on pool days. No one had seen Steve’s naked body since before Spring Break and he was nervous to take his clothes off in front of anyone, but especially in front of Eddie, who was so confident and hot in his newfound hero status, with the scars to prove it.
Steve wasn’t stupid. He knew the reason most people wanted to go on dates with him. It was partially his reputation, but mostly because of the way he looked. That’s how he’d built his reputation, after all. Now, the one thing that had gotten people to look twice at him had been compromised. He wasn’t sure who he was supposed to be now, in a post-Vecna world. He wasn’t sure what he had to offer anymore.
He stands in front of his mirror for a long time, in just his dark wash jeans. He examines his torso from every angle, wondering if there’s a way to hide the majority of his scarring from Eddie. Maybe if the lights are really low and Steve’s distracting enough in other ways, he can keep Eddie’s focus away from examining his body too closely...
Steve sighs before pulling his striped polo over his head, careful not to muss his hair. He glances at the clock and realizes that Eddie will be here any minute to pick him up. Eddie had insisted on taking Steve on their first date together, arguing that Steve’s gotten to take out a ton of girls but never had the opportunity to be taken out himself. Steve couldn’t really argue with that logic and it had made something warm and fuzzy spread through his chest that he wasn’t sure he should examine too closely at this stage in the game. He’s just happy to have Eddie’s attention on him, when he’s spent the better part of the last six months agonizing over how to get Eddie to even consider going on a date with him. Turns out, all the agonizing was for nothing. Eddie had made the first move, asking Steve to dinner when he’d picked up the kids from a one-shot campaign last Saturday.
The doorbell rings, right on time, and Steve practically runs down the stairs, grabbing his Member’s Only jacket on his way to the door and slipping it on as he turns the knob and swings his front door open. Eddie’s already grinning on the stoop.
“Your chariot awaits, princess,” Eddie says to him, gesturing towards the van. Steve can’t help but smile in return.
~*~
Steve was right. Dinner goes so well that he’s somehow ended up at Eddie’s trailer, on Eddie’s bed, with Eddie’s tongue in his mouth. Eddie’s bedside lamp is still on and Steve is distracted by trying to figure out how to turn it off without making this weird.
Before he can come up with a game plan for Operation: Turn Off the Fucking Lamp, Eddie’s kissing down the side of his neck, sucking on his pulse point and sinking his teeth into the vulnerable skin there. Steve lets out an embarrassing sound, halfway between a whine and a whimper, and can’t help but thrust his hips up against Eddie’s, which has Eddie chuckling against his neck and heat flooding Steve’s cheeks.
Eddie’s hands travel down Steve’s chest to the hem of his shirt and Steve can’t figure out a way of doing this without taking his shirt off. He doesn’t want to derail where this is going because it feels so good and it’s Eddie and he’s wanted this for so long, longer than he’d like to admit. So with one last longing look towards the bedside lamp, Steve allows Eddie to pull his shirt up over his head and only briefly mourns its loss as Eddie flings it across the room like it’s personally offended him. Eddie wastes no time in getting his lips back on Steve, trailing kisses and soft bites across the skin of his chest and down to his stomach. Steve can’t help but wince just a little as Eddie’s lips graze the skin of his scars.
“Everything okay up there?” Eddie asks, lips still ghosting across Steve’s skin.
“Yeah, all good.” Steve’s voice is more high pitched than normal, a little breathless. He doesn’t want Eddie to stop, not at all. He just doesn’t want him to look too closely either.
“Fuck, you’re beautiful,” Eddie breathes out before continuing to trail kisses across Steve’s stomach.
“I am?” Steve can't help but ask and even he can hear the surprise in his own voice.
That makes Eddie pause and Steve worries for just a minute that he’s revealed too much too soon. He’s worried that Eddie is going to pull away and say something about how this has been fun, maybe they can do something again next week. That had always been Steve’s go-to move when a girl had done something off-putting on a date and he never really wanted to see her again.
Eddie sits back slightly on his heels so that he can meet Steve’s eyes. The look on his face is so soft that Steve feels that warm fuzzy feeling spreading through his chest again.
“Of course, princess,” Eddie tells him and Steve believes him. Eddie smiles softly, reaching out his hand to brush his thumb across Steve’s cheek. He leans down to press a small kiss to the corner of Steve’s mouth, cupping Steve’s jaw. When he pulls back, he smirks before pulling his own worn black t-shirt over his head. “We match. Don’t you think I’m beautiful?”
“Fuck,” Steve whispers, before reaching out his hand to brush his fingertips against the skin of Eddie’s stomach. “Yes.”
Eddie leans back down to kiss Steve fully on the mouth. He spends the rest of the night thoroughly demonstrating that Steve has absolutely nothing at all to worry about. The bedside lamp stays on the entire time.

Day 30 Werewolves/bones
Written for the prompt from @batboysxprompts
Rating: Teen and Up Relationship: Steve Harrington/Eddie Munson WT: animal death, mention of injuries, werewolf Steve Harrington Word Count: 816
The fresh air is the first thing that he feels.
He puts a hand on the ground, feeling the pine cone and the leaves crunch under his weight.
“Fuck!”
He had done it again: he had freed himself from his own chains and ended up in the middle of the woods, naked.
Someone is laughing from a safe distance.
“Are you back with me, big boy?”
Eddie.
Steve turns abruptly, trying to use his advanced senses to smell blood, or pain, or…
“Stop it, you know I’m fine.”
Steve wrinkles his nose, his eyes pinned on the metalhead a few feet away. Eddie is too far but he still sees them, the two big scars made by claws on Eddie’s chest, the ones he made.
Eddie gets closer, he has clothes in his hands that smell of sandalwood and marjiuana.
“I hope you like Judas Priest.” He tells him with a grin.
Steve is totally naked so he can’t really complain, even if Eddie’s scent will stay with him all day long and if will be agony.
“Are you sure you are ok?” Steve asks, searching his body for injuries or something else.
“Stop it. I’m fine.”
“You shouldn’t be near me when…”
“I wasn’t closed when you shifted, ok? I paid attention!”
Steve's hand unconsciously gets to the longest scar, the one that ends at the base of Eddie’s neck.
“I could have killed you…” he whispers in the night.
“You were just a kid! You were scared and alone. If something would have happened it would not have been your fault.” Eddie replies, sternly.
He is not wrong. That night was the first night he shifted into a werewolf and it was the scariest night of his life. He was just getting home, with his bicycle, when the shining light of the moon had caressed his skin. He felt a pain so intense that he fell from his bicycle, screaming and crying, running through the woods as if he could escape from such excruciating pain. That was the moment he met Eddie, the strange boy of the school, one year older but in his same class. The one that smelled bad and always had worn out clothes.
Steve grabbed him, screaming for help. After that, he blacked out.
The next morning Steve’s hands were covered in blood and Eddie had a big white bandage on his chest.
Wayne offered Steve breakfast and explained to him that he was a werewolf, something he thought existed only in the stories, and gave him a few advices that would have made Steve’s life easier during the full moon nights,  mumbling something about how Steve’s parents should have been the ones who gave him ‘the talk’ and how dangerous it was to leave a puppy alone during his first shift.
Wayne told him about packs dynamic, alphas, omegas, puppies and mates and Steve listened to every single word with attention and he started to go to the trailer every time he had a question.
Wayne knew a lot about werewolves, apparently his deceased partner was a werewolf too and that’s why they lived in the trailer park “A lot of space to run freely.” Wayne told him “But you are too young and in this woods there are other things that you might want to avoid.”
That’s why Wayne insisted that he had to pay more attention and stay safely in his house when he shifted.
That was the only advice that never worked.
Steve always tries to close himself in the basement, he even chained himself to the wall, but somehow his inner wolf always finds a way to free himself and run through the woods.
To Eddie.
“Come on, puppy, you’ll be late for work.” Eddie smiles, helping him get dressed and dragging him toward the trailer. It’s still night, but the moon is not so bright anymore.
“Shower?” Eddie proposes and Steve tiredly nods.
It’s going to be a very long day and he spent all night running.
There is a freshly killed rabbit in the fridge, he can smell it.
“You brought Wayne’s favorite. He will be happy to cook it for lunch.”
Steve gets closer to Eddie, inhaling the scent of his skin from the crock of his neck, feeling the familiar pull to bite him right above his jugular. Steve shivers, feeling the blood pump under the thin layer of skin, but he stops himself and gets into the shower.
One day he will not be able to control himself. One day he will finally bite him and make Eddie his mate, but for the moment he showers and plops on Eddie’s bed too tired to do anything more than sleep.
Eddie’s callous hand brushes Steve’s hair and Steve feels a wet kiss on his forehead.
“Don’t worry. I’ll wake you up.” He whispers, and both Steve and his inner wolf sigh, content.

Messing Around In IKEA
Tumblr media
Summary: Your pregnant with your second child, with your husband Steve. You have recently moved into a new house. Time to get furniture at the best store there is IKEA.
Trope: Dad!Steve x Mom!reader
A/N: I have never been in an IKEA store before :/ so bare with me. Also sorry I thought this posted yesterday and it didn't
Warning: BIG FLUFF, kissing
Word count: 1.0k
30 Day Challenge: Day 4 Send Request <3
The Harrington Clan pulled into the big blue store IKEA. “blue” your son Grayson said “Yes baby it is blue good job” your husband said. Grayson squealed at the praise his dad gave him. Steve pulled into a parking spot, turn off the car then quickly got his carbon copy, Grayson out, “no I want to go with mommy” Even though he was Steve’s twin he is the biggest mommy boy there is, that scared you and Steve a little bit because you weren’t sure how he was going to reattract when the baby comes. After he put Grayson into the cart, he helped you out of the car “My wife” he said taking your hand to help you out “My husband” you said back giving him a kiss, even after years of being with each other your kisses still make him blush. “hi mommy” Grayson chirped “Hi my baby” you said kisses his forehand “My boys ready” you asked “Yes” Grayson eyes went huge coming closer to the store “big” he mumbled. The store was huge, long, tall aisles, many displays, many colors. This was going to be hard.
“Ok where should we start first” Steve asks “Ummm......let’s look for the living room” You had in mind what you wanted a nice big couch to fit all your friends and family, you and Steve want a big family and the house you just brought was going to be your family house. It was a beautiful house it was a light gray with white windows and a lovely porch, 2 story house with 5 bedrooms, a nice big backyard with a pool. It was on the outside of Hawkins, Steve wanted a fresh start and a clean slate to his name, but always wanted to be near his friends just in case they need anything. The gang love coming over at your old place, the harrington house was always so cozy and welcoming, and Grayson loved his aunts and Uncles, especially Uncle Will.
You had some furniture from your old place but the living room is ten times bigger so you need a new couch to match with your old lounge chairs. Grayson was getting fussy in the cart “down Grayson wants down” he started talking in third person a month ago “Ok hang on "Steve told him as he stopped the cart and brought him down “Hold mommy’s hand ok” he nodded and grabbed your hand “mommy hand” you kept walking till you were met with couches “wow that is a lot” you said row and rows of couches were in front of you, so many colors, shapes, and size. “This is going to be harder than I thought” after spending a good 20 minutes looking at couches “Ok this is not working” Steve said “We need a new strategy” he continued. He grabbed Grayson and walked up to a couch and plopped down on it “STEVE” you pointed at the sign Please no seating on the displays “It says no sitting we are laying down” “Steve” “We need to find out of comfortable the couches are because it will be in our house forever and I don’t want an uncomfortable couch so” he patted the spot next to him “Come sit let's find our couch”
Every couch you sat on Steve and Grayson made a pros and cons list “This one is very big, but it feels like carboard” “This one is cool but as sharp corners, and we don’t need them hurting you or the baby” “blue” Grayson said for every blue couch he sat on. At about the hour mark of sitting on couches there was a light gray big couch that got your eye “Let’s try this one” Steve helped you off the yellow couch you were sitting on the you waddle on to the light gray one. “Oh, this one is nice” he said “Just imagine movies nights on this” “I am going to 100% fall asleep on this” “It goes with our chair too” “I think we found it” he said smiling at you. Grayson wasn’t making a sound which scared both of you so you quickly looked over at him “Just like his daddy” you whispered he had fallen asleep mouth open on the couch “I think he likes this one” Steve giggled “He looks so comfortable makes me want to take a nap” you leaned your head on Steve admiring you son as he rubbed your belly “I can’t wait to have our house be filled with little Harringtons” he whispered into your ear while kissing your temple “Me too” you sigh
You don’t remember how it happened, but you were suddenly woken up by a worker “Excuse me um... You're not supposed to be sleeping let alone on the displays” “I'm so sorry it was just such a nice couch and-” “Don’t worry about it this happens all the time would you like to purchase the couch” “Yes please let me wake up my husband” you shook Steve which startled him “What happened” you nodded toward the work “Time to buy the couch” “Oh ok” They wrote down our information and were going to deliver the couch to the house. After paying Steve scooped up Grayson and brought him to the car, he buckled him in then kissed his forehead. He walked over to your side seeing you struggling to get in “I told you, you can’t be getting up and down on things without help” “But you were busy with Grayson and I didn’t want to be a burden” “Babe you are my wife the mother of my kids literally carrying my second child into you there is no way that you are a burden you are my everything” he said sweetly kissing your lips then bring you into the car “Now let's go home I am beat from couch finding” You walked into the house and remember “Babe we didn’t find a dinning set or anything else we needed”

Eddie always wanted out of Hawkins.
Chicago is cold in the winter. It has the unpredictability of Indiana but the severity of the tundra. The Windy City winds whip his hair and cut his cheeks- just walking down the street to the coffee shop he frequents makes his nose go numb, no matter how far he pulls his scarf up or how tight he has his leather jacket zipped up with two flannels buttoned up under it for insulation.
(He didn’t have the money for a winter coat before moving and he sure as hell doesn’t have the money *now*)
The coffee shop is warm, a quiet hum of people who braved the December winds for a good cup of Joe and a comfy worn out leather chair to sink into. He stands in line and thinks that Gareth would like it here- he loves quiet places. That Robin would love the music they play and the quirky mismatched mugs they serve coffee in. That Steve would hate their coffee because he hates coffee but would love their hot cocoa.
They’re all about 200 miles away- some even more than that, now. He looks at the group of girls studying and giggling, the couple by the window, the other couple at the center tables.
He’s only ever been here alone.
Eddie sinks into his own chair in the back, letting his hot coffee cup bring the feeling back into his fingers- only then does he unwind his scarf and unzip his jacket.
He spends the day like he does every Saturday- scribbling in his little notebook of lyrics- trying to come up with words but mostly just doodling little dragons that look more like geckos. For the first half hour or so he can feel the little glow of mild accomplishment in his chest- he did *something.* Got out of bed, got dressed, went down the street. Now he’s really working on what he loves- his music.
He gives it two hours of nothing, nothing, nothing- not even stupid little gecko-dragons, each doodle ending up a scribble- before he throws it in and heads back down the street to his shoe box apartment, scarf and jacket back on.
He doesn’t leave the apartment the rest of the day. He makes cheap ham and cheese sandwiches and thinks about how Saturday used to be band practice day- how he’d drive to Jeff’s parents’ house and they’d play in the garage until the neighbors complained. Then they’d go to the Quarry and drink, playing rock, paper, scissors to see who’d be the designated driver. Gareth lost more often than not- dumbass had a penchant for choosing scissors and didn’t realize it.
He washes the sandwiches down with one- or two- too many beers.
Sunday is laying around, the TV on but nothing to watch. He could be going out and exploring the city, frequenting all the bars in all the scenes that didn’t exist in Hawkins.
He never changes out of his flannel PJs.
He stares at the junky rotary phone he got from a thrift shop- sitting on the floor of his living room because he didn’t have money for a side table. Couch, bed, little kitchen table and chair. That was about it.
He stares at that little phone from the couch, his face squished against the cushions as he lies stomach-down.
He bought it two months ago, with the rest of his furniture. He hasn’t used it once.
He keeps telling himself- when he’s settled. When he’s done something worth talking about. When, when, when. Thats’s when he’ll use it.
Or maybe never. He struggles to find a point. It’s been long enough to realize no one really needs him. He thinks about every face pulled his way, every awkward silence, every time he was too much and pretended nothing could touch him.
He buries his face back in the cushion. He can feel every single moment wash over him like a blanket- none totally clear but every one adding to the heavy fog weighing him down.
Sighs. Goes back to sleep at 3 PM.
He wakes up heavier, grimier, mouth tasting like dirt.
The clock on the floor next to his unused rotary phone reads 8:53PM in big angry red numbers.
He has work in eleven hours. Has to be awake in ten. Maybe nine if he wants to eat something before leaving.
He forces himself to go back to sleep because, really, he can’t think of anything else worth doing.
The clock reads 11:22 PM when he opens his eyes again.
He only tells himself the truth late at night.
That he made a mistake. That he’s been in his apartment for just over two months, in Chicago for three and he thought leaving Hawkins was the answer to everything but really Eddie still has almost all of his old problems- only this time he has them alone.
He called a few times from pay phones, in his early weeks. When he was sleeping in his van and just barely landed a job busting tables and had dug up enough spare quarters.
Gareth didn’t pick up. Eddie tried his house twice and slammed the phone down when he got nothing the second time.
Wayne was glad to hear from him, make sure he was alive. And Eddie missed him but Wayne wasn’t one for conversation. He was more of a daily comfort- it was hard to feel him from so far away, when Eddie couldn’t sit with him in silence watching Jeopardy or eating mac n cheese. They talked for about three minutes before Wayne went silent, nothing much to say.
Robin’s mom answered and said she finally left for study abroad- Eddie cursed because he totally forgot, had no number to leave her mom to pass on.
Jeff answered and Gareth was at his house with him- which was a weird pit-in-the stomach feeling for Eddie, but he wouldn’t admit it. They started their mom-and-dad style bickering, laughing about something he wasn’t in the room for when the pit got a little too heavy and Eddie made an excuse to hang up early.
Dustin picked up and then immediately had to hang up on him because Susie was calling.
He pocketed the rest of his quarters and didn’t try again.
He reads from 12AM to 1AM but he doesn’t really read- he skims and skips and goes back because he doesn’t understand what just happened about ten times before he admits that he isn’t paying attention.
The phone is bright red, which seemed better than the faded mint green or bright orange in the shop at the time but Eddie hates how he feels like he can always see that stupid bright red old-ass rotary phone on the floor. It’s always in the corner of his eye, in his peripheral vision, like a god damn ghost.
He doesn’t go back to sleep before he goes in to work.
The next weekend he goes out. He takes the van down to a bar that plays his kind of music and has his kind of people- he doesn’t wear the handkerchief he was so bold to wear in Hawkins, not where people could actually expect things from him. He only ever wore it in Hawkins because it was like playing chicken with the bigots, not because he really knew the ins and outs of its meaning. How close could he come before they clocked him? Would it be the handkerchief that got him done in or did he have to fully sequin his fucking battle vest?
He leaves it in the van and nurses a rum and coke while guys in leather and cropped Judas Priest shirts press up against each other.
At the Hideout he was loud- laughed big, noogied Jeff and played his guitar without any concern for the ear drums of the four drunk guys in the corner who only put up with their dumb band because the Hideout had the cheapest whiskey in town. Eddie then had dreamed of places like this.
Eddie now just has a headache.
(And a heart ache.)
No one approaches Eddie and when someone finally does- a young guy with a goatee and hair longer than his- Eddie smiles nervously and says “sorry, I’m on my way out.” The guy just nods as he goes.
In the van he slumps against the wheel. Thinks about how he could have a warm body pressed against his right now- about how that guy wasn’t what he wanted but maybe he’d do for now and then feels desperate and pathetic and kind of like a prick for thinking it.
He thinks about a battle vest stained with blood on someone who had never worn one before.
He thinks about the girl that someone wanted.
He drives home.
The stupid god damn fucking red phone is there, loud as ever from its silent place on the floor.
Eddie always wanted to leave Hawkins. He always, only ever wanted to leave Hawkins and now Hawkins was following him everywhere, taunting him with the fact that there wouldn’t be anyone on the other end of the phone to pick the fuck up.
Who would want to?
That’s not true, the littlest bit of his brain argues. Wayne is probably worried sick.
Yeah, some fucking nephew (son) he is. Disappearing and calling, like, once. Wayne probably thought he was dead. Wayne probably was worried sick. Wayne probably was the last person to care and every day he didn’t call made it more difficult to try because what a fucking failure. Maybe it would have been better if he’d died in that hospital, or in the upside down, or in his trailer with his eyes being crushed and his limbs snapped instead of Chrissy fucking Cunningham who deserved to be the one alive.
The phone rings.
It rings and Eddie jumps out of his skin because how the fuck is that possible?
He stares it down, watching the plastic vibrate with the force of it.
Ring, riiiing.
He’s never heard the ring before. It’s loud, harsh.
Ring, riiiing. Ring, riiiiing.
It goes on forever, and then stops.
Probably a crank call-
Ring, riiiiing.
Fuck. Eddie sniffles once, ignoring that he was on the verge of more than sniffling, more than red eyes.
(He hates crying. Does it too much.)
Ring , riiiiiiiing.
“Alright, aright, Jesus H. Christ,” he mumbles and for the first time Eddie picks up the phone.
“…hello?”
“Eddie? Eddie is that you?”
Eddie’s chest collapses. His heart gives out. Or maybe his lungs stop. All of it at once.
“S-“ he chokes on air. “Steve?”
“I- yeah. Oh my god I can’t believe this worked! I was visiting Wayne and asked about you and he mentioned that restaurant you’re working at so I called them and they gave me your number! Well, I had to call a couple times cause it’s not technically legal to give out employee info- but that one manager really doesn’t seem to care, so.”
Eddie doesn’t say anything for a long time. And when Steve calls his name again, wonders aloud if the connection is okay, he croaks out, “I’m. I’m here.”
“Oh good-“ Steve laughs, a little nervously. It’s short, clipped, but good natured. He talks- asks Eddie about his job and his apartment and when Eddie is too tired to pretend he’s anything other than exhausted, at his ropes’ end, not there enough to be *Eddie*- Steve doesn’t question it. He gives an easy hey, thats’s cool man” and fills the silence.
He tells Eddie all about Robin- practically forces him to take down her new number. Updates him on an new mug Wayne bought, he saw him opening it when he got the info on Eddie last. How Dustin’s building some thing for a teen genius competition and Will’s running a game for Hellfire that Steve has caught the end of a few times when he goes to pick the kids up (he mixes up technical phrases and Eddie laughs when he calls Dungeon Masters “Story Telling Guys”).
“I was thinking,” Steve says. “And I mean you can say no-“ as if Eddie would ever say no to him. “I was wondering if it’s okay to visit? I’m going to be up your way next month for a thing, so.. I could stop by. See the new pad.”
The new *pad.* Dork.
“You know, I’m really glad I called. We’ve all been going crazy without you here to drive us crazy,” Steve laughs at his own non-joke. Eddie knows Steve can’t see him repressing a goofy smile but he does it all the same. Stupid joke. Not funny.
(But he gives up and smiles anyway.)
“I’m glad, too,” Eddie says.
It’s just past eleven when Eddie picks up the phone and just past three when he puts it back on the receiver.
With a plan for Steve to come visit for New Years- with some of the kids if the parents give their nod and Steve doesn’t kill then on the ride up- and a promise to call the very next day.
Eddie pulls the phone away from the wall and as close to the couch as the chord will stretch. He thinks about tomorrow and the call and New Years. He falls asleep and dreams of kind boys in battle vests and Hawkins coming right back to him.

who the hell is robin?
(the winter soldier robin au)
(this is a mini au featuring platonic stobin and ronance! for reference; robin is the winter soldier, steve is the captain, nancy is the black widow. @suwunnysideup is the reason this exists, we got to talking abt it and i couldn't stop thinking abt it.)
They’re in broad daylight. In downtown Hawkins. Steve pants, body aching after receiving a blow from the metal arm. Nancy runs alongside him as they stare at the mysterious figure in all of the smoke and rubble. As the smoke clears, Steve catches a glimpse of a blonde bob, a familiar blonde bob. Is that…? She’s alive!  A smile spreads like wildfire across his face. Nancy hangs back, squinting to see who it is. She grabs Steve’s arm, briefly holding him in place, “Steve,” she says, voice low, “I don’t think this is a good idea.”
Steve yanks his arm free of her grasp, ignoring her warning. He gets closer to the blonde fringe, coughing through the smoke. The blonde begins to turn, and the reflection of sunlight on the metal arm nearly blinds him. His smile drops, a hard lump forming in his throat. He tries hard to swallow past it, forcing himself to speak. “Robin?” he gasps, tears brimming in his eyes and a sickening, lurching feeling in his stomach.
The blonde turns around, and Steve hears Nancy utter a soft oh my god–like a prayer. It’s her. It’s Robin! She’s alive! Oh my god.
Except she does not recognize them. Steve can see it in the way her eyes remain emotionless, dead. But, he thinks, and maybe he’s just a little too hopeful, he thinks that when he said her name, something registered in her eyes. It’s quickly replaced though, as her eyebrows furrow, fully facing him as she says, “Who the hell is Robin?” She draws the handgun from it’s holster and aims it straight at Steve. His best friend is gone.
Maybe not, he thinks, maybe she’s still in there.  And it’s foolish and silly and full of hope, but he knows she’s in there. How does he know? She hesitated.
(Later, when Robin is sitting on the chair of the dreaded, but routine, memory wipe machine, sitting in silence as they routinely fix her arm, pieces of her (?) memory resurface. She looks to one of the Russian guards. “That man in the middle of town,” she starts, her own voice surprising her, “who...who was he?”
“You met him earlier, on a different mission.”
This does not convince Robin. No, she thinks. Her voice hoarse from disuse surprises her once again, “I knew him…”
The guards are angry. She can tell at the way they all tense when she says this. The head guard fills her in on what she’s done, what she can accomplish. But this does not satisfy her. It is an itch that she must scratch, a scab that she must pick at. Her voice is soft, but no longer hoarse, as if the return of her memory alone has made her stronger, somehow. “But I knew him…”
This is the final straw, and she briefly hears someone shout “Prep her!”  as the rubber mouthpiece is routinely slid in her mouth and someone pushes her shoulders back, ensuring she sits properly before they place the electromagnetic plates on her skull. She clenches her teeth, waiting for the inevitable, but all she can think about before they pull the switch is; I knew him. I knew him. Don’t forget. I knew him. I knew him. I know him.
They pull the switch, and the cycle begins again.)

It’s late so I have no real positive inkling about how coherent this will be.
I’ve been seeing a lot of posts engaging with the concept of “don’t look away, bare witness” and how anyone looking away by not reblogging or engaging is privileged and therefore a bad person. I reject this premise wholeheartedly for one very critical reason: the world will not get better if the only emotions we have are anger, exhaustion and trauma. None of those truly lead to anything productive in the long run.
This is not to say don’t engage with different perspectives, unlearn things or simply sit in the uncomfortable nature that comes from our global society. But learn to take breaks.
There is massive difference between “looking away” and “hitting pause”. It needs to be more acceptable on the internet to hit pause. To seek joy, to sleep and wake up rested. There is also the fact that our brains are not able to process the 24/7 news cycle - if we try, we end up making the nuanced into simple paradigms.

Based on this post, specifically this comment brought to us by the most brilliant @rascheln, thank you again for allowing me to take your lovely idea and turn it into brain rot soup <3
Tumblr media
Eddie and Wayne had been living in the same confined space for so long that Eddie barely even noticed when his uncle entered the room. But he sure noticed when a familiar callused hand, less than gracefully, tossed a light blue pack of condoms nearly into his breakfast.
He choked on his cereal, spoon falling back into the bowl with a 'clink!' as he coughed, scrunching his face when he felt the burn of milk coming out of his nose.
"Christ, son," Wayne mused with a furrowed brow, half reaching over the counter like he was going to try to pat him on the back before Eddie waved his hand away, other palm banging on his chest almost comedically in a lame attempt to dislodge the liquid from his throat. The older man couldn't help but roll his eyes at his nephew's regular dramatics. He was figured if anything was going to kill that boy, the last thing would be a bowl of Honeycomb.
Eddie's lips pursed into a straight line, clearing his throat a few times before exhaling, long and strong, wiping away milk remnants with the back of his hand before wiping said hand on the thigh of his pajama pants, "Jesus," he croaked, scrubbing a hand over his face, eyes widened like he'd just been traumatized. Because he had, "Maybe a little more direct next time," he suggested sarcastically, whipping his head around to glare at Wayne, "I don't think throwing condoms at me made enough of a point!"
Wayne just shrugged and took a sip of his black coffee, styled by none other than a goofy Garfield mug, "Hey," he swallowed, making a point to throw his index finger in Eddie's direction, "Safe sex ain't no joke, kid."
At this Eddie scoffed and rolled his eyes earning him a particularly sharp stare from his uncle. He went back to eating his cereal, or rather playing with it, not all so hungry anymore, "Yeah, yeah," he droned, making a sour looking face as he muttered things under his breath that Wayne couldn't quite decipher, eyes focused on the floating honeycombs. That kid always had been something else.
"Listen, Eddie, you're gettin' older-" Wayne attempted, earning a loud him a loud groan from the metalhead, throwing his head back towards the ceiling in distain, spoon once again falling loudly back into his bowl. The aged man was really starting to think his nephew was too immature and he was far too old for this.
"Just because I'm getting older Wayne, doesn't mean any more people are gonna start throwing themselves at the town freak than before," Eddie spoke with dramatics, hands flying everywhere as he spoke, usually a sign that he was worked up, nervous, or uncomfortable. In this situation it would definitely have to be the latter, "And just in case you were wondering, that would make my total somewhere in the ballpark of, oh, I don't know," the younger man tapped a finger repeatedly on his stubbled chin as he pretended to think, "zero and negative four."
Wayne's eyebrows shot up, but only for a moment as he set his mug back on the counter, leaning a hip up against the old topaz, "Really?" He inquired, " 'Cause I been washing your sheets for years 'n-"
"No," Eddie was quick to shut whatever his uncle had to say next down, "Nope, nu-uh, remind me to lock my bedroom door from now on, Jesus H. Christ." He shook his head, resting his face into his palms supported by his elbows in embarrassment.
A small grin cracked Waynes weathered features as he huffed a laugh at his nephews mortification. He let the kid roll in it for a moment before he carried on, "Seriously, son, what about that girl, the blonde one with the-" he cut himself off, waiting for Eddie to look up at him before making pom-pom motions with his hands, the same motion Eddie made when they met in the woods for the first time.
Eddie cracked a smile of his own at his uncle's goofiness, "I mean, yeah, Chrissy Cunningham," he replied almost longingly, "She's sweet and all, but we're just friends," he shook off, "Anyways, she's dating that asshole religion nut, Jason Carver." Wayne hummed, crossing his arms, he understood the type, having known of the Carver family for years.
"Well," he continued, deciding if he was bold enough to state his next suggestion. There was a beat of silence, filled with uncertainty and nerves as Eddie looked up at Wayne, waiting for him to say whatever he had to say next, "Y'know, that red headed girl 'cross the road, she's got a brother 'round 'yer age."
The young man's eyebrows shot up suddenly, eyes brightened with a mix of surprise and acceptance. And if Wayne didn't know any better he'd have sworn he saw a slight blush rise to his nephews cheeks, "Billy?" he questioned, like he hadn't known the guys name since he moved into town.
"He's definitely..." Brief memories of a scared, trembling shell of the facade Billy put on showing up to his trailer while Wayne wasn't home flashed through his head. Bruises and cuts, just overall damage caused to him by his father that reminded Eddie all too much of his own father now it jail, "Something else."
"Dunno, you two jus' seem to got a lot in common 's all," Wayne justified, having seen the boy around, heard the music blaring from his car late at night when Eddie's own wasn't disrupting what little sleep he got. And maybe it was just wishful thinking and the want to see his nephew happy that drove those similarities, but was that such a crime?
Eddie chuckled, "Yeah, you could say that," Finally deciding breakfast was a bust, the metalhead pushed his bowl away, muttering out a quick "thanks" when Wayne moved to put it in the sink, "He's pretty much spoken for too, anyways," he quickly added, "Got it bad for Steve fucking Harrington, go figure."
Wayne was about to scold the boy for his language, but stopped when he turned the see the look of anguish on Eddie's face, "I can't blame him, really," the brunette mumbled, chewing on the skin around his thumbnail anxiously, "Guess Steve just kinda has that... effect on people," he sighed, letting his hands fall back to his flannel clad thighs in a sort of defeat.
Wayne smirked, bingo, "Now, don't count your chickens before they hatch, Eds," he pointed out, "You never know." Eddie scoffed, picking at a loose string on the hem of his sleep shirt.
"Trust me, I think I know," the young man remarked, "I think the day Steve Harrington turns queer is the day hell freezes over, Wayne. Besides, he'd never pick me over Hargrove, the guy's built like a damn brick wall!" There he went, talking with his hands again, worked up, "And me? Shit, I look like Bambi and a wet dog had a baby! There's no competition there, really."
And with that Eddie stood up from his bar stool, feeling at though he'd been vulnerable enough for one day. Wayne was quick to stop him though, grabbing the condoms from where he first tossed them only to try to hand them to his nephew again when he rounded the attached bar, "Just in case," he added with an almost soft smile, as if to let Eddie know he was rooting for him in an odd, roundabout way.
Eddie just sighed, plucking the container from his uncle with two fingers, "I'll keep you updated," he assured with a forced, over exaggerated smile.
"Don't," Wayne added as Eddie started to walk away, "For both of our sakes, son, don't!" And all Eddie could do was laugh, his manic hyena-like down right maniacal laugh and Wayne knew he was in for it.

Billy sighs and sits on the couch he and Steve have bought from the thrift store. It’s an awful orange but it’s comfy and big enough to be used for an adult to sleep (who is usually Eddie or Billy himself) that's why they bought it in the first place and then put it in the middle of their little living room.
Fuck.
He is still dirty from grease and oil from work and Steve will scold him as soon as he will see him, but he is so fucking tired that he doesn’t give a shit.
It doesn’t matter if he is the more experienced mechanic at work, they always look at him with disdain since Steve brought him lunch at work one day and they kissed, thinking that no one was seeing them.
Billy quickly found out that they weren’t as lonely as he thought and even if no one dared to call him a fairy after he broke Jackson’s nose, everyone started to treat him differently and give him the shittiest job.
Not that Billy could really complain, even if their apartment is small and in the worst neighborhood, they barely made enough to afford it so he can’t put up a fight and risk losing a certain income.
Fuck them.
Fuck them all.
“You ok?”
Billy turns toward Steve, who has entered the living room with two bags full of groceries and Billy hasn’t even noticed.
“Long day.” he tells him, without going into details.
Steve nods and says nothing about the fact that he hasn’t even showered and he is sitting on their couch with his work clothes on.
“You ok?” Billy asks back and Steve nods, while putting away the groceries but doesn’t look at him, so Billy gets up and turns Steve’s face until they are looking at each other in the eyes “What’s wrong?”
“Nothing.”
“Don’t lie to me, pretty boy.” Billy scolds him, moving his thumb against Steve’s lower lip “You know that I don’t like it.”
“I’m fine, I swear.”
Billy gets closer, nuzzling his neck “Where have you been?”
“To the grocery store?”
“Liar. You smell of alcohol and cologne. Where have you been?”
Have you cheated on me? That’s the true question that Billy would like to ask, because deep down he knows that he is not enough for anyone, especially for someone like Steve.
“We went to have a couple of drinks. The guys and I.”
The guys. Steve’s teammate. Billy still can’t believe that Steve turned down a complete scholarship to live with him in their cheap apartment.
“Did you have fun? Did you meet someone?”
“Fuck you. You know I wouldn’t do something like that, do you?” Steve growls.
“Do I know?” Billy asks him with a smirk, grabbing Steve’s hair and making him expose his neck even more.
“Did you cheat on me? That’s what happened? Are you a little slut? Eager to get in everyone's pants?”
“Fuck you.” Steve repeats, his cheeks red with embarrassment and anger.
“Oh I will, but thank you for proposing.” Billy grins, dragging Steve toward the couch with no grace; Steve almost bounces on the couch, such is the force that Billy uses to shove him.
“What the fuck do you think you are doing?” But Billy is already straddling him, licking his face like a big dog and grinding on him, sending sparkles in their veins when their dicks collide.
“Billy?!” Steve asks, confused and aroused, but Billy doesn’t stop, he keeps licking, kissing, and biting every inch of Steve’s skin, he wants to mark him as his property, no one should ever get closer to him, he wants everyone to knows that Steve is already fully taken, that there is someone that is not scared to leave love bites on his skin.
“Billy…” Steve tries to protest, but his objections are weak and full of moaning.
“I want to mark you up, baby. I want everyone to know that you are mine. That I’m the only one allowed to do this.” with that he lowers himself, opens Steve’s pants, and laps at Steve’s dick teasing him.
“Fuck… Billy…”
Steve is a moaning mess under him by the time Billy finally takes him into the hot velvet of his mouth,
Steve tries to thrust into his mouth, but Billy’s tight grip on his hips makes it difficult so he has to accept that he has no control and all he can do is take what Billy is willing to give him.
Billy feels Steve’s muscles dart under his expert tongue, so he frees his dick with a loud pop, and Steve glares at him offended.
“What? You don’t want me to think that you are an eager slut, do you?”
But Steve at this moment feels exactly like an eager slut.
“Did you lose your words, pretty boy? Too many thoughts in that silly head of yours? Or maybe there is just one thought, uh?”
Steve nods “Come. Let me come. Please.”
Billy smirks “I love it when you beg, baby. Can you beg a little more for me?”
Steve will do whatever Billy asks him to so he starts a litany of prayers that are like music for Billy’s ear.
“So pretty. And you are mine. Tell me that you are my little slut.” he asks Steve, removing his pants and his underwear.
“I’m yours.”
“My what?”
“I… I’m your little slut.”
Billy grins and then puts his own fingers into his mouth, licking them until they are covered in spit, then he starts to circle Steve’s rim.
“Billy…” the boy begs him while Billy bends Steve’s legs toward his chest and Steve quickly grabs them, holding himself spread and open for his boyfriend.
“Billy…”
“My little slut…” he whispers again on his skin, penetrating him with a finger.
Steve jolts at the intrusion, but quickly accepts it and starts to push against Billy’s hand harder and harder.
“Tsk, you really are a slut. Should I leave you some money after I fuck you stupid? That’s what you are looking for?”
Steve shakes his head.
“No, what? Are you not a slut?”
“Only for you."
And damn if it doesn’t get exactly to the center of Billy's cold heart.
“I’m going to fuck you so good, baby.” he whispers on Steve's skin, then he spits on Steve’s hole and his dick before starting to thrust inside him slower but relentlessly until he bottoms out and his balls collide with Steve’s ass.
“So full…” Steve moans.
“Yeah? Is it nice?”
Steve nods, unable to talk and Billy starts to gently move in a rocking motion until Steve starts to beg for more.
“Harder. Harder.” he begs and Billy can’t really deny him anything when he is like that so he gives him what he asked for, latching on his neck like a vampire leaving dark blue hickeys around his neck.
“Mine…” he growls in his ears, before biting it playfully “All mine…” he whispers.
“All yours… your little slut.”
And the admission makes Billy come so hard inside Steve that he almost collapses against the other boy.
“My little slut…” he whispers in awe while he tries to regain his breath.
Steve lowers his legs and hugs him While Billy is still deep inside him holding him tight against his chest and letting the fast rhythm of his heartbeat be a lullaby in Billy’s ear.
“Now would you like to tell me what happened?”
“Why do you smell like alcohol and cologne?”
Steve sighs “I told you. I had a drink with the boys.” but that’s not the entire story, Billy can tell.
“What else?”
“Tommy… he… tried something.”
Fucking Hagan, always snooping around his boy “What kind of something?”
“Nothing you have to worry about. I handled it.”
“Steve. What kind of something?”
“He tried to kiss me, ok? So I poured my whisky on his stupid head and some of the drink spilled on me and I tried to hide the smell with some cologne. Not that it worked in any case.”
“I’ll fucking kill him.”
Steve chuckles “No, baby, you will not try to kill the son of the rector of the institute.”
“He can’t do what the hell he wants to do only because he thinks he is entitled to it!”
“And he will not. I’m not a damsel in distress, did you forget that?”
Billy did not. Steve is strong and fierce but he can’t hide his sorrow at the thought of someone like Tommy Hagan putting his dirty paws on Steve’s beautiful skin.
“You know what? I’ll put a fucking collar on you, with a tag that says owned by Billy Hargrove.”
“Oh, yeah, that will be absolutely a normal thing to wear in class.” Steve chuckles, but Billy is even more determined to mark him as his so he keeps leaving hickeys on Steve’s golden skin and when he finally feels satisfied Steve’s neck has a necklace of hickeys.
“You are a fucking beast.”
“And you are mine. My little slut.” he tells him, finally moving away, but Steve grabs his arm, kissing him deeply and whispering on his skin “Your little slut. Only yours. Forever.”

Making Pancakes
Tumblr media
Sumarry: Its Stella’s 3rd birthday and she wants pancakes so Eddie being the best dad in the world wants to go big for his little star, it should work out right? What could go wrong?
Trope dad!eddie x mom!reader ; Hellfire mom series
Warning: like one cuss word, fluff, bad writing, kiss.
Word count: 1.2k
30 day challenge: Day 2 Send request <3
It was Stella 3rd birthday. She only had one request for today and that was making pancakes. Pancakes were her favorite food. Eddie suggested that we make it a pancake party with a full-on pancake bar with toppings galore. Even with money tight Eddie always wanted to do something special for his little girl. You decided to make it on Saturday at 9 just in time for the morning cartoons. You told Eddie that you and Stella were going shopping Friday before Hellfire to the store to get everything. All week leading up to the day he begged and begged you to let him miss school on Friday to spend the day with you guys. You stay strong tell him no until Thursday night he got Stella to join in on his pleading it was hard saying no to one pair of puppy dog eye but now two, he even got her to pout her lips. Needless to say, you cave, and Eddie fell asleep with his arms wrapped around you and a huge smile.
He wasn’t too pleased to be woken up before 8 that morning. “You said that we were going shopping” “Yes, we are” “So why so early” “Because we need to be back in time for hellfire and the fresh strawberries are two towns over now so up” he groaned up eventually got up. Your next mission was Stella before Stella you and Eddie were night owls who love their sleep, so she inherited that trait from both, and it was 10 times worse. You walked her bed and gently woke her up “Baby” “Time to get up” “No” her little voice rang through your ears “Up time baby” “no” “Wakey wakey” “no”  “Come on baby we are going shopping today" silence  “ok tay” she got out of bed "there’s my baby oh crazy hair” her curls were everywhere you had to push some out her eyes “There’s my girls” Eddie walked in with his hair just as crazy has hers.
You ate breakfast than started getting ready, Stella is at the age where she wants to just herself today’s outfit was a pink dress, her crown, blue sunglasses, with her black studded boots that Eddie made her, you and Eddie had the same pair of boots, so it was only fitting to get her a pair. Eddie loves matching with his family, so he put on his studded boots and told you to wear yours because we must match in some way. So, with your boots you put on a pair of light wash mom jeans and your Eddie’s Black Sabbath shirt, Eddie wore is usually black pair of jeans, his hellfire shirt, battle vest leather jacket combo and his studded boots. You all hopped in the van and were on your way. It was about a 30-minute drive to the store, and it was huge. “Wow” Stella said “Stay close my star you might get lose in there” Eddie said she clung on to him as you went to grab a cart, he put her in the cart then run to the door to open it “M'lady’s” he said in his DM voice with a bow Stella giggled when you bowed back “Thank you my kind sir” you answered in your best British accent. “Where to first” he asked while slipping his hand into your back pocket “Um let’s go find the pancake mix first” “Rodger that” he Saluted. The baking aisle was number 8. “Ok Stella any special one” he put on her thinking face while tapper her chin “That one” she pointed to a bright pink box mark FLUFFY PANCAKES “Nice choice my star” Eddie said while putting in it in the cart. “To the toppings next”
After Eddie and Stella convinced you to buy 5 cans of whipped cream, those damn eyes, you were off to home. You order pizza for Hellfire since you didn’t have time to cook. “You invited everyone right” you asked Eddie “Yea um uncle Wayne and um” “You invited the Hellfire boys right” “Yea I think so” “You think so” “Yea maybe” “Maybe” “No. no I didn’t” “Eddie” “I know I know I just forgot” “Well next time I will forget to kiss you goodnight night or-” “How dare you threat me by taking away my kisses” After Hellfire you told the boys sorry for the late notice, they all understood Eddie’s mind but agreed to come.
You were woken up by Stella jumping on the bed “Up Up its my birthday up up” “Happy Birthday baby” you said bringing her down “We get it it's your birthday, but can’t I sleep” Eddie teased “No daddy” Stella giggled he grabbed her and started tickling her “Happy Birthday brat” After so morning cuddles you got up to start the pancakes. You had everything set up nice and easy for you to start you mixed the dry ingredients first when you remember to put your hair up. When you came out of the bathroom flour was everywhere “What the f-” “She did it” Eddie pointed at Stella “No not me daddy” “What happened I walked out for 2 seconds” “We just wanted to help mommy” “Yea mommy can we please help” Eddie said “Give her the eyes” he whispered to Stella oh he is going to get it “Fine”
Stella and Eddie’s hair match your up in a bun, “Alrighty lets’ start” you let Stella mixed to dry ingredients as you mixed to wet ingredients. Eddie came behind you to “help you” he rested his chin on your shoulder giving you a kiss “Who let her get so big” he said looking at Stella “I can’t believe it she is three already” “I know” “I want to do it again” he looked at you with a grin “Really” “Yea I-” “daddy help” “We will continue this later” he said kissing your lips. Stella went to pull up the whisk and powder went all over Eddie, she giggled “What's so funny” “you look crazy daddy” “No you do” he said grabbing some of the mixture and putting it on her face “daddy" she gasped throwing some more at him. You couldn’t help but giggle at there little fight, Eddie whipped his head toward you “Oh you want to laugh too” “No” you said in a giggle “get her” Stella said all hell broke lose in the kitchen. Powder everywhere then there was a knocks at the door you look at the time 8:50 “Shit they are here” you looked around no pancakes were done and it was a mess, you open the door to find Uncle Wayne “Hi Uncle Wayne um gives us about five minutes please we had a little accident” he looked at you clothes chuckled then nod “Thank you” you closed the door hearing the Whipped cream can go off, when you walked into the kitchen Eddie and Stella were on the counter and Eddie was pouring whipped cream into their mouth. “Eddie really” “What” “It is so good” Stella added
