Hot Take: Robin always liked to be present whenever someone died.

Not because he was morbid and liked watching the dying process, but because he wanted to see if they'd remain, if they too would haunt the land and house. If someone was sickly or elderly, he'd stay with them for days, monitoring their health and watching for any signs of decline. When the time comes that they take their last breath, he's at their side waiting for their soul to rise from their body, watching to see if they go up to the stars or step down onto the floor beside him.

We see him do this with Sophie's nurse maid and we know he did it with Mary ("you didn't see it live"). He watched as Thomas' spirit remained alongside Mary, Annie and Kitty. He was present at Pat's death too. It could be possible he's seen most, of all the ghost's deaths.

He was just excited and rushed to meet them so he could grow a new tribe to look after darn it🥺✿
