🌴✨ California Magic is a graphic novel series which follows a found family of monsters, magic users, and joe schmoes as they bumble their way into the nefarious inner workings of their home city.

I'm an ace person myself, so I wanted to create a series for mature readers that doesn't rely heavily on sexual content. Three of the prominent characters are acespec! Two of which are the main focus in our first completed story, which is now available to read here on Tumblr: @curiahcity

It’s @acesincomics​ Acespec Comic Share weekend and today’s prompt is ACE PRIDE so let me remind you about my latest comic FOUND FAMILY.

FOUND FAMILY is a collection of short comics about aroace Prince Fireopal’s loved ones and their bonds. There is aromantic poetry, mental health, loveless pride and cakes. You can also sneak peek some pages because this project actually started with a short comic I did for pride 2022 that was based on another short comic I made for Ace Week in 2021.

As an ace person I enjoy stories that don’t focus on traditional romance but in validating other types of relationships and I think Pride is a good chance not only for remembering people of the amatonormativity oppression ace and aro people suffer but also for telling to the world how cool queerplatonic relationships are!

I'm Brittany G. (@atomicbritt), a black, autistic, aroace graphic designer/other by day and comic robot by night.

My webcomic is Cirque Royale, a humor/drama/fantasy/slice-of-life comic about the newest royal clown family and what their circus troupe gets up to when the show is over.

This comic features lgbtq+, autistic, and otherwise disabled and/or mentally ill characters. There are a few acespec characters

My comic project is a huge mess of WIPs and redesigns right now, but I still couldn’t pass up the opportunity to share a design based on the Acespec Comic Share prompt for today, so here we are! The trouble was picking just one character, but I figured I couldn’t go wrong with little Flicker here :’D I’m still working on their full reference sheet so I’ve compiled some older art and various doodles here instead. Hope you like, and thanks for the opportunity to share! <3

Flicker (any pronouns, they/them is most commonly used) is a sort of guardian spirit, or perhaps a remnant of one. They are awakened from the zodiac portal when Cassie first discovers it on a hill behind her house. Their name was given to them by Cassie as well, as the energy they emit flickers a bit like a candle flame or distant star. Though they have no memory of their past life, Flicker still maintains their prime directive; protect the Starglass (the star in Cassie’s eye). They are able to speak, but only in fragmented or simple words, though they learn a few more as they spend time with Cassie and her friends. Flicker can vary slightly in size, usually hiding in Cassie’s hair or sitting on her shoulder when travelling with her, though they can’t be much bigger than a small kitten. They are at their smallest (and dimmest) when low on energy, and must rest inside the portal to recharge or share some energy from Cassie via the Starglass.

The zodiac portal is what sends Cassie to the Astral Plane in the first place, being the only known connection between the two worlds outside of the Starglass itself. In fact, the portal cannot be activated without Flicker’s energy, and thus they can’t follow Cassie to the Astral Plane once the portal is activated. Instead, Flicker can detect lost spirits on Earth and guide Cassie to them to be rescued, though the times at which they do this are not always convenient, especially at night when the spirits are most active. Flicker will spark when angry or threatened, though the closest thing they have to an attack is blinding their foe with a large flash of light, which does help Cassie escape danger on a few occasions. Despite their small stature, Flicker does their best to keep Cassie safe in whatever way they can.

Hi! Haven't been on in a hot minute but I'm Dragons, an agender aroace creator and i make the comic Skull & Pyro on webtoon and tapas, featuring two aroace queerplatonic husbands committing crimes and becoming a problem for everyone around them 💙🤍💛🧡 We got Bonehill the edgy intellectual who’s too tired to be an intellectual, and Zerako the sweetheart pyromaniac. They love headbonking like cats and cuddling and crimes 💕 Its a comedy fantasy adventure with minimal angst for thoust weary soul. Tis SFW, theres 1 brief kiss scene that half the readers didnt even realize was a kiss scene which is good bc i never plan on drawing one again BDJDJDKJDKDJ otherwise theres just a bunch of cussing and thats it.

finally Bonehill gained eyebrows and in general i got a better handle of Shapes and Color. also WOW I forget I started drawing Zerako's freckles really small,,,, now they are giant orbs SKDJFKSDJF the cool process of seeing character features simplify after drawing them 5349 times!!

Hi! I’m Hope and I’m an Ace comic creator. I’m currently working on the comic “Corvid’s Eye” which you can read on tapas and on webtoon (link is in my pinned post) I also have another one brewing on the side but it’s still just brewing. I always like to have an ace representative in my work - especially trying to show off different kinds of ace and show how you can love and be loved. Even when you feel you can’t give all society ask of you in a romantic relationship - doesn’t mean you won’t find someone who’ll still love you no matter what.

Admittedly, it took me a very long time to figure myself out, and I'm still not done yet, but being open with friends online has allowed me to feel a bit more okay with being open around people in person.

I started by coming out as asexual, as being ace is the one thing I've always been 100% certain of, even when I didn't have a term for it. I'm not sex repulsed, but I have no desire for it. I'm basically indifferent.

I wanted to make one of my longtime main characters asexual to reflect myself, so I chose Art to take that on. He's equal parts anxious and bull-headed, which puts him at odds with himself. He knows he's capable of handling most any situation, but he's gonna stress about it regardless.

I feel Art and his wife, Rocky, embody a healthy relationship that has zero reliance on sex, or societal norms for married couples. They're in their late 20s-early 30s, don't desire children, and don't have sex. They also have one of the most healthy and strong relationships in my comic series. Rocky is also asexual.

...and then there's Oz, another main who's portrayed as more of a "middle of the road" character morally. A protagonist only in his own life, but can serve to be friend or foe to anyone else. His story involves him having been split from his fiance after she cheated on him, and Oz takes an incredibly long time to find closure within himself, with some unwitting help from Art.

Oz is demisexual and demiromantic, and he personally doesn't find interest in potential partners very often. He's hooked up with another person maybe a few times in his 32 years of living, and he doesn't particularly care to look around. He's in the "if it happens, it happens" boat when it comes to finding a partner. He doesn't actively pine for any sort of romantic or sexual meaning.

Oh, by the way, they're both shapeshifting monster folks.

I'm currently working on my 293878th queer story, "Goth Boyfriends", that you can read on comicfury! for freeeeee!! And the updates resumed this week! yeppy!!

Goth Boyfriends is full of queer characters who are wannabe goth exploring life! it's mostly focused on slice of life and mediocre humor, but it has a dash of all kind of romance!
