One of Nene's main hobbies is playing video games, and the illustration of her bedroom reveals that she owns several consoles. Among these consoles are:

She also has two amiibo-like figures on her table, plus two more on her headboard, as seen in her untrained To Get Closer to the Canary 3* card (one of which appears to be an Animal Crossing-like character).

Cross stitched amiibo figure!

My sibling made me amiibo nfc stickers so I was drawing my own cards, but for 8bit Link I thought why not do a cross stitch!

How I made it: the original pixel art would have been easy enough but I edited my own pattern of link based on the first game to have more than 3 colors and with the triforce on the shield using a long half stitch. After finishing my stitches I cut out both sides with a one square border I didn’t stitch into yet (this will be the gold boarder), I stuck on the nfc stitcker to the back of the front piece, held the back and front stitched pieces in place, and did a blanket stitch around the edge and then a modified cross stitch which I was able to make wrap around the piece by using the blanket stitch as a stabilizer. It works great and it’s my new favorite cross stitch piece!

What would Quackerjack think of the "toys to life" video games? Would he like the plastic figures on their own?

While I still hold onto that one bit of dialog where QuackerJack outright says "... I could learn like video games." in his debut episode, I feel like he'd be furious about them horning in on his territory even more, and TTL games would just affirm his claims of competition. He built a time machine to erase yoyos from existence because he felt threatened by thier popularity. 👀

Not to mention, as cool as Amiibo and stuff are ((I have a decent selection of them myself, including a sizable stack of Animal Crossing cards)), they don't really have any actual playability outside the game and are rather fragile themselves, and QuackerJack is a tactile play sort of dude who strikes me as the sort who would tear open collectible figure packaging to play with it as intended because he's old school like that. 😅

I originally started this a couple of weeks ago when I realized I shared a birthday with Whitney. Being a character from the Animal Crossing Movie, she reminded me of a memory of a incredibly eventful winter I had a very long time ago, a time when winter break started early because of a massive snow storm blanketing my place for good long while. It was an incredible week of having a cool uncle having a surprise visit, getting the first 1cc on a game I still hold dear to me, and the one random time where I randomly decided to watch the animal crossing movie subbed since I found out it existed at the time. All of that happened under that really snowy day, and seeing stuff related to that always makes me smile a bit, just a very simple, nostalgic memory. 

Honestly, with the current happenings in my life, I felt I needed a small piece for myself at the time, but those feelings of stress sorta evened out over the days I worked on this, I spent some time with some friends and I ended up having some of the most relieving days I've had in a long while, and it kinda just felt weird finishing this piece up lol. But I already spent some time on it and I figured, to hell with it. 

It would be rude not to finish this, and it's all for fun in the end, snappy~

well lets see!! my girlfriend has a bunch of monster jam toy trucks on our windowsill! i have a million magic cards and pokemon cards which are my favorite ones i think :3

i own a million plushies but unfortunately only my faerie wren, my blahaj, my bridget, and my mimikyu are out in the open currently... we have a doll that is a replica of my gfs old splatoon character and its fucking awesome...

and then other than random assorted stuff we have several sex toys as well that we keep in a shoebox >:3

this is our air conditioner its got several birds, gigantimax pikachu, sneakers the arctozolt, yoshi amiibo, our little lego figure named claire, and splatooner!!

(general impressions after playing TotK for 3 days, encountered enemies and areas, staying way from major plot stuff for the moment)

so Nintendo really went "we heard your complaints about breakable weapons, so we've decided to double down on that", huh?

BotW was a quiet place, TotK not so much. I do like that these NPCs are actively involved in trying to improve their situation (looking at you BotW and also Fallout4), and what's more they're enthusiastic about helping Zelda and Link

I am less thrilled about how many puzzles are now social puzzles. I'd much rather spend half an hour figuring out the Wasteland Tower in BotW than petty social drama where I need to take sides and I don't know these people and stuff is Implied and potentially Ruined Forever if I chose a wrong option and AAAAH

I'm just gonna say it, I miss the Bomb Rune. It was renewable, I could mine for resources without using up my tools, I had control over what I blew up

All the stuff that is fenced off not because there's an enemy I can't defeat yet, but because someone wants 200 pies or something and you need to talk to someone for the recipe first, but they won't talk to you unless [thing] and if you expect me to keep track of all they said without losing focus, well I don't know what to tell you

if this resource scarcity keeps up, I'm just going to farm and grind my 50 animal crossing amiibo cards. Sure that's boring, but what's more boring is Link's outfit and how I still don't have even enough rupees for the sheikah pants. My Link does not stomp!

also I miss my Majora's Mask. I miss peace and love on the planet Hyrule. I play stealth and now I can't play to my strengths T_T (and yeah maybe Kilton is still out there, but how useful are masks that only fool one type of enemy at a time?) I want to look at a bug or whatever without having to run away from stalkoblins and moblins all the time

the building stuff mechanic is ...okayish. I'm not MacGyver or that elementary school classmates who built rube goldberg machines out of erasers, okay? At some point I'm just going to smash my switch against the wall in frustration. Probably(?) not the emotion the developers were trying to evoke (My worst case scenario is if they expect me to be good at this under time pressure and oh yeah also we hope you like escort missions. Timed ones, naturally 🙃🙃🙃)

I came across some Yiga in a cave, they're even more hilarious than the last time. Writing fanfic in my head about them already (message me if you want to know)
