Given the way BNHA genetics work, where the kids look the most similar to their mothers, Shinomori might have been Bruce's nephew

Y'know, I didn't think about that, but yeah- a lot of characters look like their moms (Midoriya, Bakugo, Uraraka, Jiro, Koda, etc)

I actually think they might've been cousins. Subscribing to the idea of [most kids take after their mothers], maybe they're cousins through their mothers?

Having OFA for 18 years and dying at 40 means Shinomori received it when he was 22. Shinomori being 22 years old seems close to how old Bruce actually could've been when he was alive himself.

Shinomori being Bruce's nephew is a cute idea though. I still think they'd be close in age, but Hikage can call Bruce "Uncle" to mess with him

An adult that's a few years younger than you, calling you uncle. So like. Bruce could've been the babysitter / older cousin / uncle to weirdo Shinomori and he's just so used to babysitting that it automatically translates over to patiently dealing with Kudo and being protective over him (+ anyone in his care)

(Bruce gave OFA away before he went to go fight, so he really was protecting what was put in his care [Yoichi + Kudo] so they didn't disappear with him. Even if it was just a responsibility and basically their last organ that happened to manifest consciousnesses)

Bruce has Kudo. Shinomori has Banjo. Both are shorter, more risk-taking people that lead the way, but need someone level-headed by their side because they might charge in otherwise.

If they're related, that means Bruce probably also ages well too. And it means Bruce also might have a baby face like Shinomori-

#there was a period where I used this blog to vent quite a lot #I've tried to stop doing that because 1) I'm just trying to be more positive in general #and 2) even if it's just venting about little things - it's still negative and probably not that much fun for you who still follow my blog #thanks for that btw #so as you probably know I was incredibly anxious about turning 30 this year #that happened a few months ago and I'm pleased to report that it's been fine #it's not a big deal at all #(I mean. aunties now raise their eyebrow slightly higher than before. since I still have neither a spouse nor phd. but whatevs) #turning 30 has been fine :) #on a completely unrelated note : this has been the absolute worst year of my life so far #certainly the worst since the desastre that was 2015 #but as of today I think 2023 exceeds that #and honestly. if its 1 god-awful year in 8. those aren't the worst statistics and life is overwhelmingly bearable. maybe even pleasant #and genuinely. truly. these are bad luck events completely unrelated to turning 30 #so anxiety of aging and life milestones is pointless #that's my lesson as a tumblr-elder (but real-world-young-person) #also yes yes el problema es el capitalismo etc but if any star sign people can explain what caused my bad luck this year : please do !

Having a special interest in a character with an unfortunate design means when i see redesigns that lean into the unfortunate aspects I am fully aware that I'm the only one who is aware of this and I have to bear the knowledge and just keep scrolling because it is not worth it

#kiyos outfit is indeed based off of a fit from an old vis. kei music video. like almost entirely lifted #but a lot of vkei pulls from military outfits for fashion inspo #kiyos outfit at a distance can easily resemble a w.w.2 uniform. the red armband symbolizing a club leader has no place in the outfit #because hes not a club leader #if he had any other outfit the armband would not raise any eyebrows because its anime #but paired with the military adjacent uniform whether intentional or not it is suuuuuch a big accident on the designers part lol #and lore wise kiyo would know this! he is an anthropologist. which could open another can of worms #anyway what im getting at is #i see a lot of designs that really lean heavily into the militaristic design it lends itself to #and yes while the designs look good #its just sort of like kok*chis hat problem times ten #and its like i know a lot of people in this fandom are teenagers and rhe critical thinking braincell is still kicking in #but i see it A LOT in mastermind designs as well #reallt this is a bit of a nonissue but. its something else to keep in mind about kiyo and his design when showing him off to ppl #because ive had more than one non v3/dr fan express initial apprehension at his design for these reasons #its 7:30 in the morning

whenever I draw RamKing I do my initial sketch and then when I come come back to it every single time I’m like “hmm! I’ve gone overkill on King’s jawline! it’s much too sharp and well defined! I’ve yassified my boy! better check my reference pictures and try again.” and then every single time I check a bunch of reference photos and am forced to reconcile the fact that Lay Talay does actually just fucking look like that.
