The new feature on Too Good to Go in February 2024 In February 2024, TGTG introduced a new feature where you can ask a friend to pick up a surprise bag on your behalf!  They can accept the chore or give it back to you too.  I’m sure this new tool is useful for those who want to ask a nearby friend or partner to pick up a surprise bag for them.  The Model (WC: 2,3k)
Annabeth Chase had a secret passion. Makeup. Most of her classmates would’ve never thought that she would enjoy the art of the daily enhancements, but she secretly did. Techniques, palettes, brushes, sponges… Everything was kept in boxes at home, all neat and tidy.
Annabeth Chase also never thought that she would actually get the gig at MAC to work there. She aced the multiple interview rounds, impressed her future employer with her skills and diverse approach in makeup and was nearly hired on the spot. And now she was a fairly skilled makeup artist. One of the best.
There was another thing that Annabeth Chase never would have guessed. That it would take only one random afternoon to change her life forever.
A man entered the store. He was tall, wore sunglasses and an expensive Italian suit. He chatted with Drew, Annabeth’s supervisor.
“Oh, yes!” said Drew with a polite smile. “Annabeth?”
The blonde turned around and approached them. “He wishes for something natural for the day to cover the circles under the eyes,” Drew explained. “Can you do that quickly?”
“Of course, I can. Please follow me, sir!” Annabeth rarely worked with men, but there was a first for anything.
Her client took a seat and removed his sunglasses. Despite having rich dark skin, blemishes and fatigue ruined an otherwise fairly handsome face. The man took care of himself. Mostly. Sleep apparently wasn’t important enough.
Annabeth took her arsenal of makeup and other supplies and put them in front of the large mirror the client was facing. “You are warm toned,” she softly spoke and grabbed foundations to mix them together.
“Skin is already primed,” the man added. He also sounded Italian.
“Oh yes, I can see that!” she smiled. Then she started her work. She grabbed her sponge and placed the mixed foundation. Slow buildup, little by little. She used the concealer to smooth the surface and brighten the under eye area a little bit. Highlighter for a little pop. The customer didn’t want a full eye look, just curled lashes and mascara and sharpened eyebrows. Roughly twenty minutes passed, and Annabeth stepped aside so that the man could see the magic she had worked.
“Oh wow!” the client sounded impressed and tilted his head.
“Very natural. I like that!”
Annabeth smiled. “Oh yes. A full face can be so expressive and fun but not something for the day to day. A natural look should enhance your beauty, make spots disappear, not turn you into something you aren’t.”
“Very true,” the client agreed.
“Can I book you again?” he then asked. Annabeth nodded to Drew.
“Oh sure, just ask my boss!”
The man laughed and shook his head. “No, no, honey. Can I book you?”
His hand wandered into his suit and pulled a business card out. He handed the card to Annabeth.
Charon Bianchi. Casting director. Paris – NYC - Milano. DMFASHIONSTUDIO.
Annabeth looked up to Mr. Bianchi. “Uh…sure?”
The following four years changed everything for her. Gone was the job at MAC after she had signed with Charon. Hello flourishing career as an international MUA that got booked for galas, editorial shootings and runway gigs. Even certain celebrities and YouTubers hired her.
Annabeth had seen it all in those short years and had worked with all of them. She had been in Shanghai and then in Greece two days later. Flights from Paris to Kabul, New York to London. Annabeth had crossed paths with famous makeup artists like Pat McGrath, Charlotte Tilbury or Lisa Eldridge. She had been on the sets of photo shootings with incredible photographers such as Lara Jade, Lina Tesch, Cass Bird and even the famous Peter Lindbergh before he had passed. But the more recent things she had been booked for were runway gigs. Less pay, but more fun and definitely more stress.
Paris 2020. Dior Men, the new fall/winter 2020/21 collection. Designer Kim Jones wanted Annabeth to return to the set, so she did. The venue was beautiful. That was all Annabeth could think before she and a dozen others were sent backstage to prep their own little areas before models, videographers and photographers would swarm the place. Four hours until the show began, and everybody was already stressed out. The first few models showed up. Annabeth had been given a set card with faces she would work with on that particular day. 47 looks in total with 37 male models. Second looks, great Annabeth thought. More stress.
Malick Bodian, Ludwig Wilsdorff and Perseus Jackson were the models that were assigned to her. Perseus Jackson. A handsome young man, not much older than Annabeth came to her mind. Long curls, brown skin, light eyes and a beautiful grin. Annabeth had seen Perseus multiple times, but she had not worked with him directly before. Whereas many designers or their agents chose models because they had an interesting look or a beautiful symmetrical face, Perseus had both. The IT factor. His walk was among the best of his generation.
Annabeth was done with Ludwig’s look as she saw how Perseus stepped into the hectic atmosphere. He was two hours early which meant that he was four hours too late in the fashion world.
“You’re good to go,” said Annabeth to the young man next to her.
“Thanks,” he laughed and got up to get dressed.
Annabeth waved Perseus over to her. His lips formed an “Oh,” before he sat down next to her.
“I think we’ve never worked together before, haven’t we?” he asked. She shook her head.
“Well, Percy,” he introduced himself.
“Annabeth,” she smiled.
“Annabeth?”
“Don’t ask,” she rolled her eyes. “A southern thing.”
That made him roar with laughter. Annabeth had the entire Dior makeup arsenal next to her and was supposed to focus on enhancing his looks, but she couldn’t. He was way too charming, way too funny, way too charismatic. They talked about life before fashion. Percy got scouted at the age of sixteen as he was working at his mother’s bakery in NYC. At first, he thought it was a joke and his mother also had been very skeptical, but after the first few gigs, they realized that Percy had the potential of making it big in the scene.
Annabeth could sense that he was one of the few male models that could actually live a fairly comfortable life with his runway, video and editorial income. He was way too relaxed, and Annabeth knew how struggling models looked like.
Percy had seen Annabeth’s work before. They’ve crossed looks behind the scenes of Prada, Valentino and Isabel Marant. At first, he had thought she had been a model herself with her height and gorgeous looks. The fact that she had been hired as a makeup artist came as a total surprise to him. The blonde set the foundation. He paid close attention to the movement of her hand. That is how he saw her diamond for the first time.
“Oh, wait you’re engaged?” His eyes widened.
“What?” Annabeth looked at the ring on her finger. A birthday gift to herself.
“Oh that,” she laughed.
“I think I might have missed the memo, but I’m pretty sure that I’m single.”
“Oh,” Percy laughed. He almost sounded relieved.
The makeup was a soft look that should set focus on the grooming of the models. A glow on the cheekbones. Smooth skin. Little crystals that were set around the eyes functioned as little highlights. A black earring dangled from his left ear. Then Annabeth moved further to his lips.
Annabeth used neutral brown tones that were supposed to enhance his looks. She applied the color and slowly worked on his bottom lip. His lips slightly parted and his intense stare made Annabeth blush. Her gray eyes wandered back to his lips to finish her work.
“I think you’re good to go,” Annabeth said.
“Already?” he pouted. It was unfair. How could someone shift from fierce to seal eyes in less than a second? Features that could shift from humor to almost anger so easily from the shoots Annabeth had seen from him.
“Move,” she laughed.
Perseus got up. “See you around,” he winked. A warm feeling spread through Annabeth. He’s just cheeky. That’s all.
*****
The collection had a touch of British fashion. Percy grabbed his stuff and was placed into a changing room by a stylist. As soon as he left, he had been swarmed by people that corrected everything. From the way the tie was sitting to the way the white jersey was stuffed into his pants. Someone actually got on their knees to work on the socks. His first look was a gray wool coat which was accompanied by a dark set of pants, a white jersey which had a silver shirt underneath. A fitting white tie and white gloves were set as highlights.
“We need someone to do a little retouch!” one of the stylists yelled. Percy turned around to see if Annabeth was around somewhere. She was not. She still sat in her niche and worked her magic on his colleague Malick. They were laughing. A pang to his heart. Disappointment.
“Hey Percy!” Makeup artist and great friend Piper McLean greeted him and redid some of Annabeth’s layers.
“All models must be ready in the next ten minutes!” yelled director Luke Castellan over the noise and busy people. “First Looks and then get in line! Ten minutes everybody!”
Percy got to the small corner where photographers were ready to take the first pictures of the entire looks. Posing, demonstrating, not getting blinded by the flashing lights. Percy stood in a group with Jason Grace, Ethan Nakamura and Taemin Park. They broke the formation after a few minutes to make room for the next set of models with other looks. Percy got in line for the runway. He wasn’t going to open the show; he was the fourth look. But he would have the honor of closing the show. A key highlight. He made a silent prayer and then it was time.
Assistant Grover Underwood gave the opening model Nico di Angelo the go to walk out. Everyone stared at the screen backstage in anticipation.
“Go!” Charles Beckendorf left.
“Go!” Jason Grace moved forward.
“Go!” It was Percy’s turn.
*****
Annabeth was in awe of his work. Percy walked upright. The right amount of poise and elegance. A hint of arrogance. A lot of determination. He did not move his hips too much and he accentuated the movement of his shoulders. A strong masculine walk and on beat with the music too. A beautiful strut. A neutral game face but his sea green eyes were set aflame.
Percy focused the minute he had reached the middle of the runway. He could do a sloppier walk in the beginning but not anymore. Eyes open, be casual but attentive. The camera that would capture the picture for Vogue Runway which would be sent all over the world in a few minutes caught his gaze. He worked around the crowd of celebrities and fashionistas that captured his looks with their own smartphones and made his way backstage. The coat got taken off immediately. A stylist handed him the final outfit which he had to change in less than a minute. Then Piper caught up with him and did small retouches before he went to Second Looks.
Percy wore a black coat which was embroidered with silver elements. The strong silver started from the collar and was reduced by the chest area. The streaks got less and less, like feathers that were falling and captured. The black fabric of the coat took over and created an interesting silhouette.
Percy was surprised. Annabeth stood next to him and actually did his retouching again. Her thumb brushed the fallout off. A small gesture he truly enjoyed.
“What? No good luck kiss for me?” Percy asked innocently. Annabeth’s jaw dropped. She actually laughed. Cheeky. He was very cheeky.
“What would you need a good luck kiss for?” He was more than just professional. Percy didn’t need luck. He just worked and did so perfectly each and every single time.
“Go!” said Grover and pushed him out. A last cocky grin and wink to Annabeth and then he was back on stage.
Annabeth stood next to designer Kim and watched how Percy worked his magic on the runway again. All 37 models were set in a row and did one final round one after another after Grover’s go. After that, the designer went on stage and bowed to the crashing applause.
The crew backstage cheered as well. Another gig was done and over and the fashion world knew what the man would wear in the coming fall season.
Annabeth helped collect the makeup and clean the area. She turned around and nearly walked into Percy. Percy almost looked nervous.
“Oh. Is everything okay?” she asked him.
“Yeah, I wanted to ask you whether you had makeup wipes,” he said lamely.
Annabeth grabbed a few and handed them to him. He was already changed back into his casual jeans and black hoodie. It almost broke the makeup artist’s heart to see the model cleaning the canvas. But with or without makeup, Percy was a handsome man.
“Thank you,” he smiled. And he did not move an inch. A question rested on his lips.
“Would you like to drink some coffee with me?” Annabeth halted her movements and looked up to Percy.
“What?”
Percy was surprised at her surprised reaction. The fact that top model Percy Jackson was single and actually had asked her out blew her mind. Annabeth nearly dropped the brushes.
“Are you serious?” Annabeth asked him. He was confused.
“Why wouldn’t I be serious? I like you,” he explained. A man that was direct. That was something Annabeth certainly liked.
“So. Coffee or not?”
“Sure,” she said and shared his smile.
The End
The looks I’ve chosen are looks 4 and 47 from Dior Men!
And of course! The letter! I haven’t forgotten!
Thank you so much for the prompt, Becca! Writing this was so much fun!

The Other Side of Reality Chapter 14
Dean Winchester x Reader
Story Summary: Y/N is a patient in an Asylum. Each and every day she noticed a handsome man sitting in the same place. Holding the same tattered book. Mumbling about ghosts, ghouls and vampires. Almost two months later, she finally gathers up the courage to go up to him. To listen to his stories. Little did she know her life would change forever as she began to wonder if there was a hint of truth to his stories.
Catch Up Here: Masterpost
Tumblr media
If anyone had ever told you waiting was the hardest part of being a human, you would have scoffed at them. But after 36 hours and no word from either Dean or Cas, you knew it to be true. Sam moved between both rooms, checking on you while trying to keep himself occupied with research. You understood why, knowing that he was keeping all options open in case Dean came back empty-handed.
You kept your daughter’s little bunny in your hand, the softness of it comforting you much like it had your daughter. You wished she had it with her now, to comfort her. You had no idea what she was going through, and that thought terrified you.
“Y/N,” Sam said your name softly as he opened the door. He had a smile on his face, but it wasn’t what you first noticed. It was the bag on his back, the keys hanging from his hand. “Are you ready to get your daughter back?”
“You’ve heard from Dean?” You exclaimed as you raced around the room, shoving things into your bag as fast as you could. “He’s found her?”
“His lead is solid,” Sam answered carefully. “He wants us on our way in case this thing goes our way.”
Squeezing the stuffed bunny in your hands, you couldn’t help but smile. Things were beginning to look up, and soon you might have your little girl back in your arms. Your family would be back together, and you could finally get on with life. “Y/N, I don’t want to see your hopes dashed. We both know my brother. We know he’ll do anything to get your little girl back. But they have to know we’re coming.”
You patted Sam’s shoulder as you passed him. “Sam, it’s a start. And that’s good enough for me.”
Sam drove the Impala while you sat quietly in the passenger seat. Usually, the radio blared with classic rock, and you usually loved it. But you were more interested in the road ahead of you, and the promise of your family reunited once more.
Sam’s phone lay silent between you, both of you glancing at it every couple of minutes. Hoping that it would ring. You were anxious, knowing that the longer things took, the less a happy outcome it would be.
“They’re probably just busy scoping out the place,” Sam muttered as he stopped for gas and coffee for the two of you.
“Sure,” you whispered, refusing to give up the idea that things were going to end well.
You were three hours into your drive when Dean finally called. You picked up Sam’s phone, answering it immediately. “Dean! What’s going on?”
“Hey sweetheart,” he chuckled. “I take it you’re almost here.”
“About another hour.”
You could hear him mutter something to Cas before he turned back to the phone. “Listen, it’s a nightmare here. We were going to try to go in without you, but it’s too much for only two of us.”
“We’re almost there,” you assured him. “Have you seen her? Have you seen our baby girl?”
He paused before answering, and that split second almost had your heartbreaking. “I did. She’s tough, our girl.”
Sniffling back tears, you smiled over at Sam. “Yes she is. Figure out a plan, and we’ll be there soon.”
Dean had given directions to a small hotel on the outskirts of town. With barely five rooms, it boasted a hot tub overlooking the river and fresh items from the bakery down the street. You knew that Dean had probably already sampled every item the bakery had brought in.
Sam parked the Impala by room 3, and before you could open the door Dean was rushing out. He pulled you into his arms, his smile infectious. You leaned into his touch, letting loose a deep breath of relief. You were all back together, and once you rescued your daughter….everything would be perfect.
“Dean, did you come up with a plan?” You asked as Sam came to stand beside you, handing his brother the keys. “When do we leave?”
“Whoa, wait a minute,” Dean chuckled, and it was then you noticed how happy he was. How relaxed and ecstatic he acted. Not like the Dean who was getting ready to bust into an Angelic stronghold and save his daughter.
“Hey Sam,” Dean turned to his brother. “Thanks for busting ass here.”
“Of course. We’re both ready for whatever plan you’ve come up with.”
“About that,” Dean started to say, but stopped when the hotel door opened, and Cas walked outside, holding the hand of your daughter.
“Ava,” you whispered, your heart thudding fast in your chest as you raced forward. Dropping to your knees, you pulled her into your arms, holding her as tight as you could. “Baby girl, I’ve missed you so much!”
“Mommy!”
Sniffling, you loosened your hold, just slightly, to get a good look at your daughter. She seemed taller now, in the months you had been apart. Her golden hair was longer, darker, almost the same color as Dean’s. Her green eyes, exactly the same shade as her Dad’s, looked up at you. She seemed unharmed, even though her clothes were tattered, no shoes on her feet. “Are you okay sweetie?”
“I missed you so much Mommy,” she cried, holding you tight. Picking her up, you held her tight, stepping into the hotel room, knowing Dean and everyone else would follow.
You sank down on the first bed, rocking your daughter in your arms, looking over her head to Dean. “What happened? I thought you were going to wait for me.”
“We were,” he answered, pulling a chair over, his hand brushing against the both of you. “We were keeping an eye out. They had the place surrounded. Ava was in the middle. Cas and I, we were trying to come up with a plan when this bright white light surrounded the area. We couldn’t see. Suddenly it lifted, and our little girl was holding my hand.”
“I didn’t like those people,” Ava whispered against my neck. “They were mean and made me eat cheese sandwiches. I hate cheese sandwiches.”
“Can you tell me what happened?”
She nodded, her fingers playing with the loose thread on your shirt. “I could feel the change. Angels had left. I could feel my Daddy, knew he was close. I wanted to be beside him more than anything. And suddenly, I was.”
“Powers,” Dean whispered. “Your powers.”
“How did I do that?” She asked you, her green eyes full of confusion.
“Honey, that’s a story for another day,” you told her. “But it’s okay. You’re safe now.”
She noticed her uncle Sam then and ran over to him. He reached down, picking her up and giving her a huge hug. You stood up, hugging Dean. “We did it. We’re a family again.”
“With a powerful daughter,” he muttered. “What about the Angels. Where do you think they went?”
“Gone. At least for now. And we can be prepared. We’ll teach her how to use her powers for good. We’ll survive. As long as we stay together,” you answered, cuddling against his side, your heart bursting with love as you heard the sound of your daughter giggling for the first time in months. And while you knew the Angels wouldn’t give up so easily, you knew that you would be ready for them this time.
The End

LIST THE ANIME YOU’VE WATCHED AND RANK THEM ON HOW MUCH YOU ENJOYED THEM!
Tagged by @teacupballerina and like her I’m probably just too casual a weeb for this list to be well informed or exhaustive. Have at it whatevs
G=Refuse To Watch/Absolutely abhorrent/dropped/Unwatchable
IDK, anything that handles really delicate subject matter in a crass and exploitative way, like ‘Papa to Kiss in the Dark’ and other gross stuff like that
OH, and Axis Powers Hetalia. I wandered into the first ep wondering what all the fuss was about. What I got was a punch-up at the UN with all the delegates on crack cocaine. I’m sorry but I just don’t have the strength.
F=Terrible/lowest quality
Love Stage
Loveless (see above)
Naruto (I’m sorry but it’s BORING)
Azumanga Daioh (I have never felt so crawly watching something so seemingly innocent)
E=So Bad it’s good
OH WHERE TO START!? A lot of yaoi titles. Especially any anime adaption of Shungiku Nakamura’s stuff. So cringey that it’s a riot. I’m not too proud to admit to my unironic fujoshi stage in adolesence. But now the entire sordid genre of yaoi is like one glorious shitpost to me (bar the really gross stuff in the categories above)
Other entertaining disasters:
FAKE OVA (The manga is so much better)
Sukisyo
Ai No Kusabi
D=A Good Meme (with self awareness)
Yami No Matsuei is the anime that appeals to my inner Superwholock binch
Kuroshitsuji - can’t decide whether I love it or just love it ironically
C=Just barely good
One Piece (meh)
Yu Yu Haskusho
Bubblegum Crisis Tokyo 2040
B=Good
Rurouni Kenshin
Ouran High School Host Club
Ore Monogatari (I died from the sweetness)
Tokyo Godfathers
Trigun
A=Great
One Punch Man
Yuri!! On Ice
Antique Bakery
Cardcaptor Sakura (shut up Becky, it’s like Harry Potter meets Sailor Moon and Pokemon, it’s awesome fuck you)
Neon Genesis Evangelion
S=Amazing
Most of the Studo Ghibli Films (particulary Totoro, Howl’s Moving Castle, Laputa, Princess Mononoke)
Akira
Wolf’s Rain
Full Metal Alchemist (either version)
SS=In Love with/have watched multiple times
Sailor Moon
Spirited Away
Death Note
SSS=Next Level/A Masterpiece/Cannot stop obsessing over
lol IDK the above three titles are my all time faves so them i guess (it makes me looks so basic but there ya go)
I am too lazy to tag but do it if you wanna

NON-SPOILER REVIEW Overall: This was a lot of fun (I feel I say this a lot but it is important!). I think I liked it just as much as the first one but for very different reasons. Don't get me wrong, neither version is perfect or what I would be satisfied with but they were good and fun enough in their own way. The first one was a lot of fun because of the story, the cast (I liked many in that cast and even the ones I didn't know I enjoyed for the most part), the songs and because I was new to MMJ so things like the paper props they did were so much fun and fascinating to me. This time I felt like the comedy really shined through and hit the mark very well, the adlibbing was very good, the main story was great (it focuses on Tamaki character Mina-chan and his dream this time), I really liked the side plot with the brothers too. I really liked the cast changes for the most part (I love Tamaki and Shiono, and Yuichi wasn't too annoying -- sorry NY lovers but I've never liked him for some reason). But I don't particularly remember any of the songs being memorable, unlike last time, and personally the romantic story line A. confused me (because of what happens in the first stage and to my knowledge) and B. girls being bitches because of jealous is really over done and just not fun to watch. Also I don't like how much they changed Wagou's character. And I really wanted us to stay focused on the military guys - I wish most of them had been back this time around. I do love Tamaki's Mina's story but I felt we lost a lot of stage time with the Wakasama and such I was really looking forward to see the ridiculousness between Kenta's character and Wakasamagumi. There has been a 3 stage announced so I hope we get more Wakasamagumi and a lot of the military back next time. And less romantic lines. Also I really enjoyed the NEW characters, especially the brothers, so it'll be great if they come back alongside Tamaki next time around. Rating: 6/10
SPOILER REVIEW
The story for me didn't quite have the impact this time round. While I loved the main plot line: Mina-cyhan realising and making his baking dreams come to life, and I loved the brother plot line; one trying to protect the other but both of in severer poverty; the other story lines just bored me; I really, really, really, really HATE romance in stories, ESPECIALLY when it's the troupey 'bitchy girl sabotaging nice girl because she's jealous' bullshit which is what we have here. Also I was super confused; in the first play they make it obvious that Sara is in love with Nagase but THIS time around we see Sara falling for Mina-chan and it's like WHICH ONE WOMAN?! Don't flipflop between your TWO CHILDHOOD FRIENDS!' so that ticked me off.
BUT, I really liked the ending for Sara's development. Most of this play she's either being attacked by the horrible idiotic girl, or she's being forced into omiai's // arranged marriages by her father. And finally at the end she confronts her father and explains 'I don't want to get married right now. I was go out and find out what I can do and do I want to do.' which was really great and girl-power. It was great seeing Sara get her control and power back into her life. She's pretty girl-power and strong in the first stage with all the protests and supporting the right to be 'free' so with this stage forcing conservative views on her and other girls trying to hurt her through jealousy, she does lose herself for a bit in this. But seeing her come out and realising what she wants and what she wants to do is so empowering. I love Sara -- yes, you heard me! She's one of the few female characters that I love and I'm so happy she found the strength to tell her father no. And what made it even better was that her father was understanding and accepted her choice! It was such a feel good moment. I kind of hope, thinking about it now, that the third play is focused around her. In the first one we focused on Nagase and his time at the military, then this time we focused on Mina and his dream to open his own bakery, and hopefully next we have Sara pursuing her dream and focusing on her. It would make sense because they're childhood friends and have always been together so I do hope! I assume the next stage is following the next book so I'll have to find out what the next installment is.
Tumblr media
*searches* Looks like the next one is ‘Wakasama to Roman’ and there seems to be a spin off with the yellow cadets too called Meiji, Kiniro Kitan and Meiji, You Modan.... so we’ll see what happens next.
I was completely onboard for the cast changes, or at least I accepted the cast changes for Tamaki and Shiono.... AND now I've only just realised that Yuichi replaced Someya. Which doesn't make sense; I thought it was an obvious end for his character at the end of the first one. I guess that's why he doesn't have as big of a role this time around because he already got his head on straight and already has a girl in his life. But... you could've just not had him in it.
I like the scene in the beginning when the boys are slacking off at Mina's bakery/cafe and an officer walks in and they try to hide but JP forgets his sword and the guy is like 'oi!' and points to the sword and JP hastily grabs it and they run out of the store. I guess they still haven't matured since the first stage xD Shiono's character was funny because he'd get his sword out for any type of conflict or the moment that didn't suit him and everyone else had to hold him back xD I didn't realise until later but he replaced Kubota Hidetoshi which is a shame because I really liked him in the first one, but I guess Shiono is a good choice as a replacement. BUT he doesn't have the scar this time?!? What's that about?! They actually ate sweets during the show and it made me so hungry.
Tumblr media
I really, really liked Kobayakawa's character! He was just the sweetest! (haha get it?!)
I've heard that Takeshi is a dweeb in real life but I've only ever seen him as Doudanuki in TouStage and in this and his characters are pretty similar in these two; very angry, very aggressive and very 'my way or the high way' kind of thing, so much so that he hurts the people around him (ie. manba-chan and in this, his brother). But I really liked the ending when he and his brother made up and TamaChan kindly offered them jobs at his shop and all of a sudden Takeshi was just the cutest and happiest character, running around and helping xD
Tumblr media
KenKen's character was fucking ridiculous this time around! Unfortunately, he has no where near as much screentime as he deserves. But when he's playing Tamai he's ridiculous and pompous and feels above everyone as usual. But then he falsl for Shinako and becomes this romantic, idiot mess. And then there's other times where he's playing the waffle ghost and going around as like a narrator and doing these stupid dances and just being ridiculous. Everyone was laughing so hard. OH there was a moment when it was Shiono, JP, Yuichi, and KenKen. The three of them were facing KenKen in a line and KenKen had his back to the audience. KenKen started talking but messed up right away and the three of them just broke down into laughter immediately and KenKen tried to keep it together but you could hear him wanting to laugh so hard! It was a really good moment. KenKen was like ‘I’ll beat your ass!’
Tumblr media
Wagou's character was also confusing. In the first one he's this quiet, mysterious, starts to get stupid towards the end in a funny way, ninja character. But in THIS one he's basically his Osomatsu on Stage character; a big shot with lots of confidence and completely pompous. So I am not sure why they brought him back and/or why they gave his character a complete 180 change.
Tumblr media
The end dancing scene is funny because it's obvious KenKen character is still in love with Shinako. I also liked the dancing scene in general, it was sweet yet still had a nice balance of comedy in it.
TamaChan fell out of character at one point and it was totally cute. Something happened, and he just burst out into proper laughter. It was the cutest thing! Then during the curtain call, KenKen was showing off the marshmallow goods and started opening it up and showed the faces on the marshmallows before putting on into TamaChan's mouth and TamaChan yelled Wagou's character's line of 'DELICIOUS desu!' and Wagou got embrassed because previously in the play he had messed up that line a little so TamaChan was getting payback. Then Wagou pulled this angry sulking face at TamaChan and TamaChan (mouth full) was like 'I swear I'm not making fun!' so Wagou redid this line straight away so he could come out on top xD
Tamaki actually ices the cake here! So god knows how many cakes they wasted in total! I just hope they ate them every time! Or that the cake is fake but just the icing isn't.
JP's repetitive comedy part was catching swords with his barehands and then those swords being ripped out of his hands and his reaction everytime was perfect and so funny! His character is an idiot. It cracked me up everytime!
The Aftertalk
The aftertalk consisted of: Yuichi, Irie, JP and Shiono. It was super funny! They talked about what sweets they like and/or recommend to people so they said:
Irie: Monte Blanc << He mentioned he can eat 6 in a row and everyone was like 'WTF?! HOW?!' Shiono: Crepes and came make them himself. He used to work part-time at a crepe store. Yuichi: recommended Rokkatei which sounds like a famous sweet shop here JP: Choco with strawberries inside. And he also liked Rokkatei here
The Ex-Aid kid, Iijima Hiroki (how many fucking Hiroki's are there?!?!?!?!?) was there tonight! He walked in and he's tall and so freaking skinny!! He looks so much better in real life than on TV xD He has this white t-shirt on and flappy hair; no mask, no glasses. Just waltzed in.
*
GOODS
I’m lucky JP isn’t so popular so I didn’t have to try the random badges myself. I feel like KenKen will be easy to get too.
*
And there we have it! Stay tuned for more reviews/reports coming up!

In 2014, NJPW released a few short documentaries on World, before Wrestle Kingdom 9.  They were all released in versions with and without english subtitles; this is my transcription of the english subtitles on part one of Shinsuke Nakamura’s.  I’ve done this before with plain screencaps interspersed (nobody cared then either!) but I wanted to redo it with .gifs, ‘cos I really love these little videos, and ‘cos I can now, and also, just ‘cos.  :)
This is Part 1, Part 2 is here.
(The main part of the video opens with Shinsuke walking down a crowded street in a shopping district)
Caption: In the busy Komachi street, we found  Nakamura
Interviewer’s question as they walked near some bakeries:  “Do you often eat  sweets like this, Nakamura-san?”
Shinsuke:  “Can I appear on talk shows if I do? (laughs)”
Tumblr media
(this seems like a non-sequitur but per info from a better-versed friend of mine, I guess Makabe often shows up on TV eating stuff like that b/c compared with his gruff image, people think it’s funny, so Shin may have been making a little bit of fun of that here)
IQ:  “How often do you eat them?”
SN:  “Well, I used to eat them regularly.  In particular rice cakes, because my parents shop.”
IQ:  “Rice cake shop?”
SN:  “Not rice shop, they only sold rice cakes,  making sweet bean paste in a caldron.”
(**transcriber’s note: Shinsuke’s father was a banker, he was in poor health from the time Shinsuke was in middle school, and died suddenly on his first day of classes at university.  According to his book they did in fact run a small sweet shop that he would stop in at on his way home from school in highschool, to snack, but I’m not sure exactly how long they ran the place or if his mother still does)
Caption: Suddenly he is drawn into one of the  shops
Caption: Kamakura Ichibanya, Kamakura City
Tumblr media
(Shinsuke buys some nuresenbei, wet rice crackers.  He takes them & thanks the shop clerk, smiling hugely.  He stands outside eating  one, then starts laughing a bit)
Tumblr media
SN: “It tastes great.”
Tumblr media
IQ:  “Is it ‘Nuresen’?”
SN:  “Yes.  It’s not a crunchy rice cracker but moist.  (he’s still laughing)  That’s nice.”
IQ:  “Is it like you?”
SN:  “This..(he’s still eating) no firmness.”
(Shinsuke moves on, grinning.  He’s got  seaweed blacking out a few of his front teeth  from the crackers & keeps grinning to show  this off b/c he is a precious bean and also a  weirdo.  )
Tumblr media
(Shinsuke stops again, at a rack of christmas  cards)
Tumblr media
SN: “Let’s make it a rule to omit New Years  cards if we send Christmas cards.”
IQ:  “Do you send christmas cards?”
SN:  “I send either of them.  I receive christmas cards from abroad.  From other  wrestlers, and my friends.”
IQ:  “Rocky Romero?”
SN, laughing:  “He’s the last person who’d  send me a card.”
Tumblr media
IQ:  Alex?  (Koslov, presumably, who used to tag w/ Rocky in CHAOS as Forever Hooligans)
SN:  “No, he’s too stupid to do it.”
IQ:  “It’s time to prepare New Years cards.”
SN (laughing but with a pained look):  “Yes, it is.”
IQ:  “How will your card be like this year?”
SN:  “I’d like to abolish New Year’s cards if possible. (he starts laughing again)”
Tumblr media
IQ:  “Do you have an image of your card?”
SN:  “I haven’t thought about it at all.  Just  looking at Christmas cards.”
IQ:  “It’s time to prepare them though.”
SN:  “I’ll just buy some at the post office.  (laughing again)”
IQ:  “Don’t you use your creativity?”
SN:  “No.  If I devoted myself to it, I  couldn’t finish them in time to send out.”
(he moves on down the street)
Caption: He can seldom find time for himself  due to his extremely busy schedule
(as they walk, Shinsuke sees a shop and says  “They are renting kimono.” They’re  interrupted by one of Shinsuke’s phones  ringing.)
Tumblr media
SN (talking to someone on the phone): I don’t  have time at all this week.
Caption: During the shooting, he received a  call for an interview.
SN:  “I’m on camera right now.  Yes.  Why don’t  you come over to Fukushima?”
(*transcriber’s  note: an upcoming show was taking place  there)
SN:  “The match is on Friday.  Thank you for calling.”
(he hangs up, another pained  expression.  He turns around and says, “Here  is a traffic light” as they cross the street.  There’s a brief scene from a later part of the interview, obviously a reference to how busy he is here)
SN:  “I lose or break my cell phone so that they can’t find me, but they force me to  finish all my tasks anyway.”
Tumblr media
(Shinsuke is walking through a tunnel)
Caption: Knowing the dark age of NJPW, how does he view its prosperity?
SN:  “It was said to be a hard era but  sometimes I really doubt that.  I think it  was harder when we started NJPW.  There were  various eras.  I experienced the time of  transition.  As I’ve been in the middle of that era, I’m not sure if it has reached its  peak, although it is considered successful now.  I don’t think we can keep the status  quo for long.  We always need to make change  to progress even if it is internal and  invisible.  I’m not satisfied with it.  Not  at all.”
IQ:  “Do you still have many things to do?”
SN:  “Yes, though I need to look for what to  do.”
Caption: Lunchtime enjoy tastes in Shonan.
(We focus on the sea, and then a bowl of  helpfully-labelled raw whitebait, a Shonan speciality.  Shinsuke is sitting at a table in front of a tray of food.)
Tumblr media
SN: “I’m about to have Tsukudani with rice.”
(fun fact caption popup: “fish-lover”)
IQ:  “Here it is.”
SN (laughing):  “This is raw whitebait, not  Tsukudani.  How much whitebait is fished at  once?  (he picks his hashi up) How many are  there in this bowl?”
IQ:  “Count them.”
SN (laughing):  “Alright, I will.  (he starts  pointing with his hashi and pretending to  count each one) One, two, three, four…I  guess they are about a thousand.  How much  whitebait are landed at one time?  (he starts  to eat)  Is it strange if I don’t eat the whitebait from this bowl?  I’ll start.  (he  takes a bite, and makes a noise that’s hard  to interpret exactly)  It’s like…I can  enjoy its texture, right?  (he starts  laughing again as he’s eating)”
Tumblr media Tumblr media
IQ:  “Does it have a taste?”
SN:  “No, not really.  Whitebait doesn’t stand  out on its own, that’s why we add ginger or  shiso.  That’s how to really enjoy this dish.   (he laughs again - I don’t think what he was  eating had either in it)  It tastes good.”
Tumblr media
Caption: His daily diet
SN (talking with his mouth full,  occasionally laughing about it):   “These days I think a lot about balance.  My diet used to be too strict so I lost that balance.  So,  there is no “on” and “off” for me.  During a tour, I mainly eat out and most dishes are too heavy, so at home I try to avoid such  heavy food.  I eat lots of seaweed.  On the day after a typhoon, we rush to the shore and  collect the seaweed washed ashore or fallen off racks.  We put them in plastic bags to share them with neighbors.  On top of that,  sometimes a lot of sardines wash up on shore.   We run back down to the shore again and gather sardines in bags.  (laughing)  I think it’s familiar to the people here.”
Tumblr media
SN:  “We go to the sea after a storm.  One  thing that I found that surprised me most  were some dentures.  (laughing)  They were  pretty nice, too.”
Tumblr media
Caption: Heading for a major spot of Kamakura  walk.  Suddenly on the way…he became curious about the signboard of Daibutsu
IQ:  “Why were you checking out the Daibutsu  signboard?”
SN:  “We have Kami-sama (gods) and Oshaka-sama (Buddhas)…the Daibutsu is a Hotoke-sama  (Buddha statue).  So why don’t we use ‘-sama-?   (laughing) Only Daibutsu is ‘Daibutsu.’  Even for place names, ‘-sama’ isn’t used. Buses  are ‘bound for Daibutsu’ or ‘Daibutsu slope’.   Why isn’t it ‘Daibutsu-sama’?”
IQ:  “Did the board distract you?”
SN:  “Yes, badly.  Did Daibutsu do something  wrong?  (laughing)  It’s disrespectful.”
Tumblr media
Caption: Kotokuin, Kamakura City
(Shinsuke goes to a …I don’t know the term  but it’s like a little pavilion with  cleansing water in it)
Caption: Before having the honor of seeing he cleans himself
(Shinsuke takes one of the ladels, runs water  over both hands and takes a drink, then says  “All right.” and continues on his way)
Tumblr media
Caption: Time to see Daibutsu
(Shinsuke arrives at the big Buddha statue,  in a pretty wooded spot.  It’s…really  really big.)
Tumblr media
IQ:  “Is this your first time seeing Daibutsu?”
SN:  “I thought you could see it sooner, but on the way here, it just suddenly appeared.   (laughs)”
Caption:  Kamakura Daibutsu, national  treasure, height 11.312m weight 121t
SN:  “I think…it has four birds on its head,  and…it’s kind of cute. (he starts laughing  again)  It looks great.”
(transcriber’s note:  one of the few things I actually understood,  here he actually said “eeeeeeh, sugoi.”)
SN:  “It would be quite tall standing up.  Wow.   I wish it would start moving.”
Caption: (I think they intended to ask him  more what he thought about it, but then)  Nakamura suddenly started moving to another space.  Something came up in his mind.
Tumblr media
(Shinsuke wanders off by the trees, looking  at the ground.  A maintenance guy is using a  leaf blower in the background)
The maintenance guy: Do you like coloured  leaves?  (the interviewer reiterates the question, Shinsuke doesn’t appear to have heard)
SN:  “I’m looking for ginkgo nuts.  (everybody  starts laughing)”
Tumblr media
IQ:  “Are there any?”
SN:  “No.  The nuts are all cleared away.”
(transcriber’s note: all but the big cute one in the hat, that is)
Caption: We take off our hat to his unpredictable behavior.
(a bit of time passes - Shinsuke is perched  on one of the log benches, looking around at people, and the statue)
SN:  “I like doing nothing.  Well…yes.  Not only on my days off but also in the time between work, practices or any other commitments, I find chances to relax.  (laughing)”
IQ:  “Do you see anything interesting?”
SN:  “I saw two guys from Thailand.  They were  taking photos of each other, posing in their  own favorite ways.  Depending on the country  it varies how people pose or frame photos.   Some people put tape on the ground and take  turns.  (laughing)  It’s impressive.”
Tumblr media
IQ (about the tape on the ground):  “What do  you think this is?”
SN:  “The tape marks the spot to stand.  It is definitely a marker because…(he looks oddly faraway, sad) there are more over there.  I’m curious.”
Tumblr media
(we switch to dusk, and Shinsuke walking  along the shore of the sea)
Tumblr media
Caption: The sea is a familiar thing for Nakamura
IQ:  “How are the waves today?”
SN, laughing:  “There are no waves today.   Typhoon no.22 has already gone to the west.   No swell is approaching.  There is no wind to make windwells.”
Caption: The life with the sea
SN:  “How to I say this…when I am in the sea,  I feel the energy of nature wiping away the concerns clinging to my mind.  I feel the  ocean wiping them away.  Not only because  good thing I can think of but I like the ocean, because I think I feel more at ease in the water.”
Tumblr media
Caption: Dream
SN:  “My dream?  Well, I always want to be  newly inspired I don’t know if pro wrestling  is the means to achieve that dream, but I am  trying to come closer and closer to a sort of  ideal of myself.  What matters to me is not  what other people think.  It is, at the end  of the day, how much I can accept myself.  It  isn’t if I’m satisfied, but rather if I make sense to myself.  I also have small dreams.   (he starts laughing) I want to live in a  southern island without any cares, or to  spend my time only having fun.  But I think I need various views whether good or bad, in order to do what I want.”
Tumblr media
Caption: What pro wrestling is?
SN:   “Pro wrestling?  For me, it is  something…although I can say it in different ways, it allows me to express my  emotions that I can’t express in words, or to  show that I am alive.  I can unleash my various emotions through pro wrestling,  including both positive and negative ones,  such as stress, unsatisfaction and joy.  It  is also evidence of my own existence, proof  that I am alive, I am here, and I am a person  like this.  I don’t treat it as a mere sport.”

OMG yay, thank you I'm so glad!! ^-^ I've read some of your scenarios and I found them really amazing!! You're such a great writer I just have to request some more hahah xP I want another Ki-chan (srry, Kise trash here!), how about spending his bday with s/o-cchi? Something sweet and heart-warming (possibly tear-jerking) would be nice ♡♡♡ ;) thanks a lot!!
You sweet angel thank you for your flattering words, seriouslyI’m so happy that you enjoy my work so much. Thank you for being SO PATIENT. I haveNO IDEA why it took me so long but I really hope this hits the mark of what youwere looking for.
Kise sighs, a slightly melancholy look on his face as hestares out the window. You watch him for a moment before making yourpresence known. When he turns to look at you, his bright smile is plastered onhis face but it doesn’t reach his golden eyes.
“_____-cchi, I didn’t hear you come in,” he says rising up.Gathering you in his arms, he takes another deep breath, inhaling your scent.
“Ryouta,” you say softly, pulling back to look in his eyes. “What’swrong? If anything I’d expect you to be extra happy, it is your birthday afterall.”
He shrugs noncommittedly, smile dropping a few degrees. “Idon’t know, I just feel…”
His response is cut off by a knock at the door. Notexpecting anyone but you today, he frowns as he moves to answer it. At the doorstands a delivery man, a warm smile on his face as he asks, “Kise Ryouta?”
“That’s me,” answers your boyfriend.
“Sign here please,” replies the man. Kise does so and ishanded a brown box with small holes poked in the top.
“Who’s it from?” you ask trying to read the return address.
“I don’t know recognize the sender, looks like it camedirectly from a distribution center,” he answers sitting at the kitchen tableonce more. He grabs a knife and slits the tape to open the package. From withinhe draws out a plastic container holding two goldfish. Next comes a prettyglass bowl and a bag of bright blue and yellow shiny pebbles.
“What an odd thing to send someone!” you exclaim. “Is therea note or anything?” Kise shakes his head but he’s already distracted by thepretty fish swimming around in their makeshift home. “Well,” you go on, “whydon’t you get them set up while I fix us some lunch, hmmm?”
Kise nods, moving to the sink to fill the bowl with waterbefore taking it to the living room and placing it on the coffee table. You humto yourself as you prepare the ingredients for onion gratin soup. Soon thescent of simmering onions and butter fills the room. You’re working on choppingvegetables when the doorbell rings.
You see Kise get up from the couch and open the door, surprisedto find another delivery person, this one female, standing in the threshold. You chuckle under your breath at her expression; Kise is rather overwhelminglygorgeous and if you’re not expecting it, he’ll catch you off guard. After amoment of silence you hear him say, “Yes, can I help you?”
“Sorry!” she exclaims and you almost laugh out loud. “Deliveryfor Mr. Kise, is that you?”
He nods and she gains his signature before profferinganother box, this one white with a blue ribbon and local bakery insignia on it.He thanks her and shuts the door turning to look at you. “Did you order this?”
“Nope, looks like it’s another surprise. See if this one hasa name attached to it.”
He looks over the box but there’s no clue as to who thesender is. Setting it on the counter, he opens the lid and finds a decidedly largeand decadent looking chocolate cake nestled within. “Another mystery, huh?” youask and he nods as he locks eyes with you.
“Did you do something?” he questions suddenly.
“Me? The only thing I’m doing is making my boyfriend hisfavorite meal for lunch on his birthday.” You shrug returning your attention tothe simmering liquid in the pot. “Maybe your more determined fans aresending you birthday gifts now.”
“If that’s true, I’ll have to move,” he mumbles under hisbreath. It wouldn’t be the first time some crazies got a hold of his privateinformation. While he loves being a full-time model now, it does come with someundesirable side effects.
“I wouldn’t worry too much, Ryouta,” you comment taking ataste test and adding more salt. “It’s probably your family and they justforgot to put a card in or something.”
He pouts a bit but doesn’t argue with you further. The soupis almost done so you turn off the burner and set the broiler temperature toheat up the bread and melt the cheese. Five minutes later, you and Ryouta takeseats to enjoy the soup of your labor.
“This is always so good, _____-cchi,” he says taking aspoonful.
“I’m glad you enjoy it,” you hum.
Lunch finished, you glance at the clock; your present shouldbe here any minute now.
“______-cchi, I was thinking for today we could-“
Again Kise’s sentence is cut off by a knock at the door.
“Oh what is it now?” he asks flinging open the door only tochoke on his breath. Standing together before him are Kuroko, Aomine, Akashi,Midorima, and Murasakibara, all clad in shorts, t-shirts and sport shoes.
“Wha…how…you…” Kise stammers.
“Oi, get a move on!” shouts a voice Kise recognizes asKagami’s. Kise’s five former teammates make their way inside, each offering hima happy birthday. As Kagami comes into view, Kise is further startled to seeKasamatsu, Nakamura, Hayakawa, Moriyama and Kobori. His apartment, while ratherlavish, still feels tight with all his former teammates in it.
Turning around, Kise’s tear brimmed eyes lock with yours andyou nod once. He rushes forward, gathering you into his arms in a fiercelytight hug. “Thank you,” he whispers into your ear.
“I knew how much you were missing everyone even if you tryto hide it so I called Akashi-san to see if he could help me,” you admit.
Kise looks at his former junior high captain who shrugs buthis face holds a surprisingly warm smile. “What’s the good of having a privatejet if I never use it for my own pleasure?”
“So,” you go on drawing Kise’s attention back to you. “The lot of you are going to go to the court in downtownand play ball. Then, when you’re done, we’ll all meet at the hotel they’restaying at to get cleaned up and ready to go out to dinner.“
Kise smiles widely but a look of confusion floods his face. Turning around he considers for a moment then points to Midorima and Murasakibara. “If you guys were already planning on being here, why did you send those gifts ahead of time?”
“What on earth is he talking about?” Midorima asks looking atMura who shrugs.
“The…the fish! Aren’t they my lucky item Midorimacchi? And the cake! Who else but Murasakibaracchi would send such a huge dessert?”
“Your sisters,” you answer stepping up to his side to show atext message conversation between you and the two other most important women inhis life. “Both of them did send cards but they were lost in the transit.”
Kise flushes in embarrassment but you kiss his cheek andencourage him to go get ready. He hurries off to his room while the rest of thegang say their official hellos to you. You give Akashi a particularly long hug.“Thank you so much for your help, you really should let me pay you back or atleast pay a portion for the hotel.”
“Nonsense, ______-chan,” he says evenly, “It’s no trouble atall. Please don’t worry about it.”
Kise is back quickly, eager to get going. The twelve menclamor down the stairs and flood into the street, the sound of ribbing, teasing, arguing and just generally catching up flooding through the openwindow. You look out of it, watching as they go pleased at sight of the biggestand brightest smile you think you’ve ever seen on Kise’s face.
With a sigh, you flop onto the couch, immensely glad yoursurprise came off so well.

Bars and restaurants in NYC are closed for dine-in service, but that doesn’t mean you have to sit in a corner and eat beans out of a can until you forget what plates look like. You can still order takeout and delivery - and help support a lot of businesses while you do it. If you need some ideas, here are a bunch of places that are perfect for everything from a Big Night In to When You Just Want A Bowl Of Something Warm. Scroll down for all the spots (organized by situation), and stay tuned for updates.
For restaurants offering delivery and takeout for the first time and serving new specials, read our guide to NYC Restaurants With New Takeout & Delivery Options.

When You Just Want A Bowl Of Something Warm Rai Rai Ken $ $ $ $ Ramen  in  East Village $$$$ 218 E. 10th St. 7.6 /10
Rai Rai Ken’s very rich shoyu ramen - packed with pork, egg, and fish cake - is an ideal delivery order when you finish a morning conference call, and realize you haven’t eaten in 16 hours. You certainly won’t need anything else, but it’s only $11, so consider adding some gyoza or takoyaki to keep around for later.
Hanon $ $ $ $ Japanese  in  Williamsburg $$$$ 436 Union Avenue 8.2 /10
Deciding what to order for takeout is already difficult, and throwing Hanon’s many udon varieties into the equation might cause your brain to display a 404 page. Fortunately, the takeout menu at this Williamsburg spot narrows it down to six options, and considering the thick curry udon with washugyu beef needs to be part of your order, it’s not very complicated at all.
Sadelle's $ $ $ $ Diner ,  Sandwiches ,  Cafe/Bakery ,  Bagels  in  SoHo $$$$ 463 W. Broadway 8.5 /10
You’ve probably already heard about the bagels, lox, and babka at Sadelle’s, but what about the soups? They deserve to be talked about behind their backs, too. Especially when it comes to the matzo ball soup with herbs, chunks of tender chicken, and a baseball-sized matzo ball to soak it all up.
Nakamura $ $ $ $ Japanese ,  Ramen  in  Lower East Side $$$$ 172 Delancey St 7.3 /10
If chicken noodle soup got dumped for being too boring, it’d do some soul searching and return as the torigara ramen at Nakamura. With light chicken broth, nori, and chashu pork, it’s the reason you should order delivery from the LES spot, which is available on Postmates or via phone at 212-614-1810.
Ugly Baby $ $ $ $ Thai  in  Carroll Gardens $$$$ 407 Smith St 8.4 /10
Most dishes at Ugly Baby could be served in blocks of ice with a glass of milk and still make you sweat like a middle-schooler during a pop quiz who hasn’t started wearing deodorant yet. In other words, the food at this Thai spot in Carroll Gardens is very spicy. It’s also very delicious. They’re offering most of their menu - like khao soi with beef or “stay away spicy laab udon” - via delivery directly from the restaurant at 347-689-3075.
Ivan Ramen $ $ $ $ Ramen  in  Lower East Side $$$$ 25 Clinton St. 8.4 /10
If you want temperature heat and spice heat at the same time, the answer is simple: the spicy red chili ramen from Ivan Ramen. Both their LES and Hell’s Kitchens locations are available for delivery.
Hanoi House $ $ $ $ Vietnamese  in  East Village $$$$ 119 St Marks Pl 8.6 /10
Hanoi House is joining forces with its more casual sister restaurant, Hanoi Soup Shop, to make its fantastic pho available for delivery. Our favorite is the beef pho, which lets off soup’s equivalent of pheromones as steam rises from the incredibly rich broth, and comes with your choice of two meats, like oxtail and filet mignon.
Chuko $ $ $ $ Japanese ,  Ramen  in  Brooklyn ,  Prospect Heights $$$$ 552 Vanderbilt Ave 8.7 /10
Chuko is primarily a ramen spot, and the spicy kimchi ramen with ground pork is one of our favorite versions in Brooklyn, but you’d be missing out if you don’t start with the pork buns lathered with chili mayo.
Raku $ $ $ $ Japanese  in  SoHo $$$$ 48 Macdougal St 8.1 /10
Raku’s gyunan udon is what you want on the table after a long day of work, and the tantan udon with spicy pork broth is what you want when a quarter of that day was spent troubleshooting screen sharing. No matter which type of day you had, order udon (and fried chicken with spicy mayo) on Caviar from this Japanese spot’s Soho or East Village location.
When You Want Something Affordable Fieldtrip $$$$ 109 Malcolm X Blvd
Field Trip makes things incredibly simple. Just order a bowl of their food, then eat it. This Harlem spot specializes in rice bowls with everything from brisket and chicken to shrimp and salmon, and nothing costs more than $15. As an added bonus, you can easily balance one of these bowls on your lap while you watch TV with your roommate, your cat, or your roommate’s cat.
Teranga $ $ $ $ West African  in  East Harlem ,  Harlem $$$$ 1280 5th Ave Not
Rated
Yet
Another wonderful uptown spot where you can get a one-bowl meal, Teranga specializes in West African-inspired grain bowls. We’re partial to their joloff bowl with salmon and black eyed peas, but you can always just mix and match ingredients to make whatever you want. Just be sure to get the fried plantains.
Roy's Fish and Sushi Market $ $ $ $ Japanese ,  Sushi  in  Upper East Side $$$$ 1138 1st Ave Not
Rated
Yet
Roy’s specializes in great, affordable sushi, and most of the platters at this UES spot cost less than $15. And, since this is a fish market, you can also order fish. So get dinner for tonight, and do some grocery shopping for tomorrow while you’re at it. Just be sure to call 212-838-3587 for takeout or delivery.
San Matteo Pizzeria e Cucina $ $ $ $ Pizza ,  Italian  in  Upper East Side $$$$ 1559 2nd Ave Not
Rated
Yet
If you don’t currently remember what a good Neapolitan tastes like, call San Matteo on the UES. In addition to pizza, they also serve pasta, salads, and magical pizza-dough sandwiches known as panuozzi. Call them at 212-861-2434 - and if you need some wine delivered, they have that too.
Tiny's Giant Sandwich Shop $ $ $ $ American ,  Sandwiches  in  Lower East Side $$$$ 129 Rivington St Not
Rated
Yet
Maybe there’s a void in your life, and the only thing that will fill it is a big buffalo chicken sandwich. Order from Tiny’s on the Lower East Side. And if buffalo chicken isn’t your thing, go for the tuna melt, the BLT, or a big chicken caesar salad. Order delivery online or call 212-228-4919 for takeout.
Patacon Pisao $ $ $ $ Venezuelan  in  Lower East Side $$$$ 139 Essex St Not
Rated
Yet
If you’ve never ordered from Patacon Pisao, take this opportunity to do so. Unsurprisingly, they specialize in patacons (sandwiches made with fried plantain), and their cubano version is one of the most satisfying and decadent things you can have delivered to your home. There’s a location on the LES along with two more in Elmhurst and Inwood, and if you’re looking for something other than a patacon, they also have arepas and cachapas.
Pies 'n' Thighs $ $ $ $ American ,  Southern  in  Brooklyn ,  Williamsburg $$$$ 166 S 4th St. 8.0 /10
Chances are, you want Pies N Thighs right now. We know this, because we want Pies N Thighs right now. A chicken biscuit sounds good, and we could also go for some fried chicken, cheese grits, and pecan pie. Order directly from this Williamsburg spot’s website or give them a call at 347-529-6090.
Best Pizza $ $ $ $ Pizza  in  Williamsburg $$$$ 33 Havemeyer St 8.0 /10
Maybe you’ve already ordered pizza one or two times since you started living your entire life in the corner of your apartment with the most natural light. Do you really need more pizza? If it’s from Best Pizza, yes. Order a large white pie with sesame-seed covered crust, then order a second and store it in your freezer.
Shanghai 21 $ $ $ $ Chinese  in  Chinatown $$$$ 21 Mott St Not
Rated
Yet
Listen, maybe it’s a few days since you had a good pork bun, or maybe it’s only been a few hours. Either way, you need Shanghai 21. This Chinatown spot serves excellent soup dumplings in addition to great pork buns, and they have an expansive menu with everything from rice cakes and dan dan noodles to many different kinds of beef, chicken, and shrimp. Go online or call 212 766-6311 to order.
West New Malaysia $ $ $ $ Malaysian  in  Chinatown $$$$ 48 Bowery Not
Rated
Yet
If you assume that your life would be improved with some fried prawns, Hainanese chicken, or flaky, buttery roti canai from West New Malaysia, you’re correct. Fortunately, this Malaysian spot in Chinatown is still open for delivery and pickup, and there are plenty of things on the menu (like the curry soups) for less than $15.
Mimi Cheng's $ $ $ $ Chinese  in  East Village $$$$ 179 2nd Ave. 7.7 /10
Right now, you could have an order of Mimi Cheng’s dumplings in front of you - eight of them, stuffed with chicken, zucchini, and scallions. An order will cost you slightly less than $15, and it’ll bring you the same amount of joy as six or seven videos of raccoons running on extra-large hamster wheels.
Milkflower $ $ $ $ Pizza  in  Astoria $$$$ 34-12 31st Ave Not
Rated
Yet
If you’re in Astoria, and you need pizza, Milkflower is there for you. Get one of their Neapolitan pies with meatballs, garlic confit, and Grana Padano or spicy soppressata, basil, and honey. They also have things like octopus, meatballs, and salads, and you can either order online or call 718-204-1300 to order from them directly.
Pye Boat Noodle $ $ $ $ Thai  in  Astoria $$$$ 35-13 Broadway Not
Rated
Yet
Another great Astoria spot still open for pickup and delivery, Pye Boat Noodle makes some excellent Thai food, and, unsurprisingly, we’re fans of their boat noodles. But if, for some reason, you don’t want a big bowl of warm noodles in a slightly sweet broth with pork rinds and meatballs, there are a bunch of other options like pad kee mao and fried wings as well. Call 718-685-2329 or visit their site and order online.
Somtum Der $ $ $ $ Thai  in  East Village $$$$ 85 Avenue A 7.6 /10
Order some Isan Thai food from Somtum Der. Get some larb, papaya salad, or pad ki mao moo with ground pork and crispy basil. Most dishes cost less than $15 - and, while the food from this East Village restaurant is ideal for sharing, we strongly encourage you to order a bunch of different things for yourself, then make several exceptional meals out of leftovers.
Pilar Cuban Eatery $ $ $ $ Cuban  in  Bedford-Stuyvesant ,  Brooklyn $$$$ 397 Greene Ave Not
Rated
Yet
We often think about the pernil, tostones, and Cuban sandwich from Pilar Cuban Eatery in Bed-Stuy. The next time this happens, we’ll call for delivery at 718-623-2822 or make a delivery order online. Do the same. And try the yuca fries.
Arepera Guacuco $ $ $ $ Venezuelan  in  Bushwick $$$$ 44 Irving Ave. Not
Rated
Yet
Maybe you’re looking for something you can eat with one hand while you attempt to work from home with the other. Get an arepa stuffed with pernil or beer, cheese, and plantains from Arepera Guacuco. They have locations in Bushwick (347-305-3300) and Bed-Stuy (718-387-2300), all of the arepas are $10 or less, and you can call directly for delivery.
Taïm $ $ $ $ Middle Eastern  in  West Village $$$$ 222 Waverly Pl. 8.0 /10
When Taim delivers a falafel platter, they wrap the falafel and pita separate from the salad and hummus, keeping everything fresh and warm. And that’s exactly the sort of care and attention you need in your life right now. So order a big platter or just get a pita and a side of fries with saffron aioli. There are locations in Flatiron, Nolita, and FiDi, as well as the original in the West Village.
Mama's Too $ $ $ $ Pizza  in  Upper West Side $$$$ 2750 Broadway 8.3 /10
If you live near the Upper West Side, don’t overthink things. Order a pizza from Mama’s Too - preferably one covered in thick pepperoni cups or four kinds of cheese and cracked black pepper (their take on cacio e pepe). A whole pie will, admittedly, cost you around $30 - but for the first time ever, you can also order a half pie. Just place your order directly from their website.
When You Want To Have A Big Night In Carbone $ $ $ $ Pasta ,  Italian  in  Greenwich Village $$$$ 181 Thompson St. 9.4 /10
Carbone is one of the toughest places to get a reservation in the city, so offering delivery is kind of the equivalent of Yo-Yo Ma making himself available to play background music while you work. You won’t experience the servers in red tuxedos preparing caesar salads tableside, but eating the spicy rigatoni vodka or veal parmesan in your apartment whenever you want makes up for it.
Minetta Tavern $ $ $ $ American ,  Burgers ,  Steaks  in  Greenwich Village $$$$ 113 MacDougal St. 8.7 /10
Minetta is the kind of place where you gesture for another martini with one hand while holding a billy club-sized rack of bone marrow with the other. And that’s just the appetizer course. By the time you finish the phenomenal black label burger or the bone-in NY strip at the restaurant, you feel a mix of joy about the food, and dread about standing up to leave. But if you order them to your apartment, you’ll never have to leave.
Cafe China $ $ $ $ Chinese  in  Midtown ,  Midtown East $$$$ 13 E 37th St Not
Rated
Yet
The Sichuan food at Cafe China is so good that people typically wait an hour or more for a table. And now that you can order delivery on Seamless, you can get dishes like diced rabbit that starts salty and ends numbingly spicy, or mapo tofu that dissolves when you bite into it without having to linger around Midtown East.
Llama San $ $ $ $ Japanese ,  Peruvian  in  West Village $$$$ 359 Avenue of the Americas 8.5 /10
The $7 “California red blend” in your fridge is fine to drink with the steak and eggs you reheated in your microwave, but the wagyu lomo saltado and egg from Llama San deserves something better. Conveniently, when you order to-go from this West Village Peruvian spot - via phone at 646-590-4422 or email at [email protected] - you can pick up some half-priced bottles of wine to go as well.
Katz's Deli $ $ $ $ Sandwiches ,  Deli  in  Lower East Side $$$$ 205 E. Houston St. 8.2 /10
Katz’s pastrami sandwich would be in the Smithsonian if the museum had a refrigerated display case. It’s one of the most famous dishes in NYC, and with meat that’s too tender to cut with a slicer, that’s for good reason. The sandwich, as well as this LES institution’s potato knishes and matzo ball soup, is available for takeout and delivery.
Lucali $ $ $ $ Pizza ,  Italian  in  Brooklyn ,  Carroll Gardens $$$$ 575 Henry St. 9.3 /10
Getting your hands on a Lucali pizza always takes patience. Usually, that means standing in line for hours just to put your name in for a table, but now that this Carroll Gardens spot is offering takeout, it just means hitting redial until you hear a voice on the other end of the line. They start taking orders at 1pm for their plain pies only (the best ones here), and when you do get through, they’ll tell you what time to come pick them up. No need to be patient anymore.
Fette Sau $ $ $ $ BBQ  in  Brooklyn ,  Williamsburg $$$$ 354 Metropolitan Ave. 7.8 /10
BBQ is tough to do well at home, especially if other people in the building are touchy about their candles being overpowered by the smell of baked beans and smoked meat. Fortunately, Fette Sau in Williamsburg offers pickup and delivery, so you can make your living room look like a medieval banquet hall without upsetting the neighbors. And there’s the added benefit of not giving a sh*t that your face being is covered in barbecue sauce.
L'Artusi $ $ $ $ Pasta ,  Italian  in  West Village $$$$ 228 W. 10th St. 8.5 /10
The bucatini from L’Artusi is even better the next day. To see for yourself, you’d typically have to make a reservation a month ahead of time, and order so much that you somehow can’t will yourself to take another bite of delicious pasta. Now all you have to do is order delivery for lunch or dinner on Caviar.
Rezdôra $ $ $ $ Pasta ,  Italian  in  Flatiron $$$$ 27 E 20th St 7.8 /10
After cleaning your stove and watching a Youtube video about how to sharpen knives, you’re ready to cook a really impressive meal. The problem is, well, you don’t know how. Rezdora makes it simple. You can pick up housemade pastas and sauces at this Flatiron Italian spot, and then pat yourself on the back for making fantastic spaghetti with duck ragu at home. All of the bottles on the restaurant’s Northern Italian wine list are available at retail price, so you can even choose an ideal wine pairing, whether or not you know anything about wine.
Tang Hotpot $ $ $ $ Chinese  in  Lower East Side $$$$ 135 Bowery 7.4 /10
Cooking your own meats, seafood, and noodles in a bubbling cauldron tends to make going out for hot pot a memorable experience. But doing it in your own apartment with delivery from Tang Hotpot guarantees a memory because you get to keep the pot once you’re done. You can order a la carte, but considering the order minimum is $200 (and the pot costs $60 unless you spend $300), you should focus on the hot pot sets, which you order on their website and include enough food for your roommates or family.
Uncle Boons $ $ $ $ Thai  in  Nolita $$$$ 7 Spring St. 9.3 /10
Like your significant other told you after those concert tickets turned out to be fake, just being together makes the night special. That’s how we feel about the khao soi from Uncle Boons. This Nolita spot serves Thai food that’ll make you wish you still had that diary with a heart-shaped lock, and you can have it delivered straight to your door via Caviar.
Sushi Katsuei $ $ $ $ Sushi  in  West Village $$$$ 357 Avenue of the Americas 8.4 /10
Katsuei’s sushi platters are arguably the best option when it comes to sushi quality and price in the city. The $65 omakase includes premium pieces like toro, barracuda, and firefly squid, but even the $35 option gets you nine different pieces of delicious fish and a roll. Order from the West Village location on Caviar or the Park Slope original on Postmates.
Ikinari Steak $ $ $ $ Steaks  in  East Village $$$$ 90 E 10th St 7.4 /10
The only reason we don’t go to this East Village steak spot more often is that filet mignon and wagyu sirloin are things we prefer to enjoy in a dimly lit room with a strong martini than a bright space where you order at the counter. But it’s a great option for delivery, when you can dim the lights in your living room, mix gin with vermouth, and cut into an 18-ounce ribeye.
When The Only Vegetable You've Eaten Recently Is An Olive Spicy Moon $ $ $ $ Chinese  in  East Village $$$$ 328 E 6th St Not
Rated
Yet
Spicy Moon in the East Village makes vegetarian and vegan Szechuan food. Sure, a lot of it is fried and starchy, but there are plenty of healthy dishes to remedy the fact that you haven’t touched a fresh vegetable in recent memory.
Sweetgreen $ $ $ $ Salads  in  Midtown ,  Midtown East $$$$ 66 E 55th St Not
Rated
Yet
Sweetgreen makes any day a little bit better. It’s fast, easy to keep things under $15, and as reliable as a sturdy ladder. Now, you can order your salad to your apartment, without any delivery fees whatsoever, all through the Sweetgreen site.
Teranga $ $ $ $ West African  in  East Harlem ,  Harlem $$$$ 1280 5th Ave Not
Rated
Yet
You did a massive fridge cleanse a few days ago, and it revealed a scary truth: the only produce you have at home is an onion that’s been hiding for who knows how long. Good thing Teranga in East Harlem will deliver you a bowl you can mix any protein with things like Iberian rice, fried plantains, peanut sauce. This is also a great option if you’re vegan.
Chirping Chicken $ $ $ $ American  in  Hell's Kitchen ,  Midtown ,  Midtown West $$$$ 587 9th Ave Not
Rated
Yet
Asking if roast chicken is technically healthy is sort of like asking if something is beautiful. It’s in the eye of the beholder. If you land on the “yes” side of this conundrum, we’d suggest ordering from Chirping Chicken - they make some of our absolute favorite poultry in the whole city and their delivery range covers most of upper Manhattan and the east side.
Chikarashi $ $ $ $ Japanese  in  Chinatown ,  Little Italy $$$$ 227 Canal St Not
Rated
Yet
It’s possible a big bowl of raw fish, rice, and toppings sounds like your personal form of protein-focused luxury. Even if that’s not the case, you can probably still acknowledge that Chikarashi’s poke bowls aren’t something you’re making at home (unless you have a casual, sushi-grade fish supplier). You can place your delivery order directly through their website or on GrubHub.
 Whole Bowl $ $ $ $ Vegetarian ,  Vegan  in  Williamsburg $$$$ 488 Metropolitan Ave Not
Rated
Yet
Brown rice, beans, avocado, cilantro, black olives, cheddar, sour cream, salsa, and some garlicky special sauce. Those are the only nine ingredients in the gluten-free bowls at The Whole Bowl in Williamsburg, and together they taste like a nacho platter that turned in its cleats for a spot on the student council. They can be made vegan, and they come in three different sizes - 12, 16, and 24 ounces - which are all less than $12 and available on Seamless.
Tiny's Giant Sandwich Shop $ $ $ $ American ,  Sandwiches  in  Lower East Side $$$$ 129 Rivington St Not
Rated
Yet
Tiny’s Giant is a great delivery option when you and your roommate are prioritizing very different food groups. One of you can order a very large salad with avocado, chickpeas, and a bunch of mixed vegetables, while the other can get an even larger sandwich with roast beef or chicken parmesan. This LES spot is open from 10am-5pm with delivery via Seamless or takeout available by phone at 212-228-4919.
Lighthouse Outpost $ $ $ $ American ,  Mediterranean  in  Nolita $$$$ 241 Mulberry St Not
Rated
Yet
Just thinking about Lighthouse Outpost’s whole sweet potato right now makes us want to order delivery from this Nolita Mediterranean spot. It comes with smoky labne and a spicy green relish on top, and sure, it’s still a potato. But it’s also a sweet potato, and you can get a great salad on the side. Health accomplished.
Blank Slate $ $ $ $ Sandwiches ,  Cafe/Bakery  in  Nomad $$$$ 121 Madison Ave Not
Rated
Yet
Blank Slate serves salads with artichoke hearts and shaved fennel, and sandwiches with roast turkey and cranberry goat cheese, and if you worked around Nomad or Midtown East, you’d go for lunch three times a week. But no matter where you’re working from, you can have it delivered any day between 8am-3pm by ordering through their website.
When You Want Something Vegetarian Or Vegan  Avant Garden $ $ $ $ Vegetarian  in  East Village $$$$ 130 E 7th St 8.4 /10
If you’re tired of alternating between veggie burgers and canned beans for protein, get takeout from Avant Garden. From 12pm to 9pm, you can order interesting combinations of vegetables, toast, and pasta to your door. Everything at this East Village spot is vegan and you’ll get 20% off if you call the restaurant directly to place your order.
Spicy Moon $ $ $ $ Chinese  in  East Village $$$$ 328 E 6th St Not
Rated
Yet
Want our advice? Get the dan dan noodles and steamed dumplings from this vegetarian Szechuan spot delivered before your next all-day sleep binge. And even if you don’t plan on going nocturnal anytime soon, you should still get takeout from either the East Village or West Village location of Spicy Moon the next time you want dinner at home to be exciting again.
Blossom $ $ $ $ Vegetarian ,  Vegan ,  Italian  in  Chelsea $$$$ 187 9th Ave Not
Rated
Yet
Both the Chelsea and UWS locations of Blossom are now offering takeout and delivery from 12pm to 8pm. So if you’re looking for vegan dishes like seitan piccata, kale salad, or a tofu BLT to remind yourself what food that doesn’t come out of the freezer tastes like, try this spot for lunch or dinner.
Champs $$$$ 197 Meserole St
Maybe being alone in your apartment with a seitan philly cheesesteak is your idea of the perfect Friday night in. We support you. Make it happen by ordering takeout from Champs Diner, the go-to spot for vegan junk food in Brooklyn. You can call the restaurant from 10am to 10pm, or get delivery through Seamless, Grubhub, or Doordash.
Nix $ $ $ $ American  in  Greenwich Village ,  Union Square $$$$ 72 University Pl 6.3 /10
Nix is offering a special dinner menu for pick-up or delivery in the Greenwich Village area. To place an order, visit Nix’s website and choose from their menu of dishes like fried cauliflower bites and a rice bowl with bamboo and avocado. If you’re really looking to impress someone, you can also order cocktails, but keep in mind that all orders must be placed by 4pm.
JaJaJa- Plantas Mexicana $ $ $ $ Mexican ,  Vegetarian  in  Lower East Side $$$$ 162 E Broadway 7.1 /10
The LES and West Village locations of Jajaja are doing takeout and delivery through Caviar, Grubhub, Postmates, and Seamless right now. So if you’re looking for a vegan chorizo burrito, sweet potato tacos, or nachos large enough to pass as an offering to the God of Nachos herself, get a meal from them.

Series of compliments for Hanoi delicacies from reporters all over the world
Series of compliments for Hanoi delicacies from reporters all over the world
Series of compliments for Hanoi delicacies from reporters all over the world
“It is even better with the coffee” commented reporter David Muir from ABC News about the creamy custard-like foam perched on Vietnamese coffee.
In a news report on the sidelines of the US-DPRK Summit released on 27.3, the reporter David Muir of ABC News discovered three famous dishes among endless Hanoi street food by himself. They were egg coffee, papaya salad and “phở bò” (beef noodle soup)

Creeping through several small alleys, David Muir finally reached Ca phe Pho Co (11 Hang Gai) for a cup of egg coffee. In the making of it, he observed all the process and even tasted a bit of the creamy foam as the lady whisked the secret recipe of egg yolk, condensed milk, butter, cheese and others.
Later, he tried papaya salad and beef noodle soup. In particular, the broth of beef noodle soup made with dry sa sung (also known as sea worm) astonished with its delicious flavourful taste.
Another reporter, Mr. David Nakamura of the Washington Post, also shared the dishes he tried on his personal feed, such as “Obama’s combo” bun cha, wonton noodle soup and egg coffee, according to Tuoi Tre News. Mr Nakamura praised that the wonton noodle soup would be too cheap compared to a meal in the United States. As for egg coffee, he tweeted: “Very rich, moderately sweet. Drinkable in small portions on rare occasion as a dessert.”

In the menu served at the International Press Center (IMC), a series of renown Hanoi foods and drinks also showed up: Pho Thin, Giang egg coffee, bun cha, glutinous rice ball, spring roll, and other Vietnamese traditional dishes.
According to Zing.vn, Arya Sapito (Nippon TV reporter, Japan), complimented that bun cha’s taste was sweet and sour at the same time, explosive with the aroma of grilled pork.
Park Soo Jin (representative of SBS Korea) said that he tried Vietnamese vermicelli in Korea and this time, he was going to bun cha restaurant Mr. Obama had been to.
CNN reporter praised Cha ca (fried morsels of fish seasoned garlic, ginger, turmeric and dill on a hot pan tableside). Photo: Josh Berlinger.
“We are especially impressed with pho, bun cha, banh xeo
During this event, the journalists must be present at various locations, so we often eat banh mi to save time. Vietnamese banh mi is very delicious. We just have to give up on herbs because we are not used to its strange taste.” said Kim Tae Yeon (25 years old, a translator for MBC News, Korea) to Zing.vn.
According to Ha Noi Moi Newspaper’s record at the Press Center, Tanaka Yoichiro (reporter of Yomiuri Shimbun newspaper, Japan) praised bun thang for its delicate and lingering sweeting taste – an unforgettable impression. Reporter Joao Manuel Pimeta (Portugal) complimented that Vietnamese food in general as delicious and attractive, after eating the classic set of rice, seasoned fish, vegetable and soup.

Ahead of the main activities in the Summit, many international journalists had been present in Hanoi enjoying street food.
Reporter Josh Berlinger (CNN) posted an image of sizzling cha ca, accompanied by a description “Cha ca — the turmeric-marinated, pan fried fish that’s so good it has an entire street named after it.”
The image of the bakery on Han Thuyen Street (Hoan Kiem, Hanoi) was published by a Reuters reporter, with the caption “Let’s enjoy the best bread in Hanoi”.

New Releases 9/5/17
Happy New Release Day!
In Books --Death Note All-in-One Edition by Tsugumi Ohba and illustrated by Takeshi Obata Containing the complete hit manga series in one volume. This All-in-One Edition comes in a silver slipcase and contains a never before seen in English epilogue. Size wise the edition stands a little slower than the individual volumes and a little shorter width. It is one massive collection. I saw the ones we got in at my work and it looks really great. Or at least the slipcase does. They were covered in plastic wrapping. It is $40 but if you haven’t read the series yet and would like to, this is the less expensive way to do it. I have never read the manga but I did watch the show when it was on Toonami. I have heard the manga is better and I am debating on buying this edition. I’m not sure if I can do so right now.
–Even the Darkest Stars by Heather Fawcett. The Emperor’s royal explorers, the elite climbers tasked with mapping the wintry, mountainous Empire and spying on its enemies. Kamzin has always dreamed of becoming one and knows she could be the best in the world if someone would give her a chance. When the mysterious and eccentric River Shara, the greatest explorer ever known, arrives in her village he demands to hire her to help retrieve a rare talisman. Instead of her sister Lusha who everyone thought he would pick. Kamzin finally gets her chance to prove herself because she’ll have to climb Raksha, the tallest and deadliest mountain in the Aryas. Then Lusha sets off on her own mission to Raksha with a rival explorer. Kamzin will have to decide what’s more important: protecting her sister from the perils of the climb or beating her to the summit. With avalanches, ice chasms, ghosts, and even worse perils, it will be a challenge unlike anything Kamzin has faced thus far. As dark secrets are revealed, she’ll have to unravel the truth of their mission and her companions while surviving the deadliest climb she has ever faced.
Really love the uniqueness of this one. At least unique for me. I have never read a book solely about mountain climbing. And in a wintry climate. Movies, sure. But in most books I’ve read they go over the mountain. They don’t try it this way. With harnesses and all that proper equipment. It sounds really good. A race to the top of a dangerous mountain, a mission not what it first appears to be, and what promises to be danger at every turn.
–Girls Made of Snow and Glass by Melissa Bashardoust “At sixteen, Mina’s mother is dead, her magician father is vicious, and her silent heart has never beat with love for anyone - has never beat at all, in fact, but she’d always thought that fact normal. She never guessed that her father cut out her heart and replaced it with one of glass. When she moves to Whitespring Castle and sees its king for the first time, Mina forms a plan: win the king’s heart with her beauty, become queen, and finally know love. The only catch is that she’ll have to become a stepmother. Fifteen-year-old Lynet looks just like her late mother, and one day she discovers why: a magician created her out of snow in the dead queen’s image, at her father’s order. But despite being the dead queen made flesh, Lynet would rather be like her fierce and regal stepmother, Mina. She gets her wish when her father makes Lynet queen of the southern territories, displacing Mina. Now Mina is starting to look at Lynet with something like hatred, and Lynet must decide what to do - and who to be - to win back the only mother she’s ever known…or else defeat her once and for all. Entwining the stories of both Lynet and Mina in the past and present, Girls Made of Snow and Glass traces the relationship of two young women doomed to be rivals from the start. Only one can win all, while the other must lose everything - unless both can find a way to reshape themselves and their story.”
Girls Made of Snow and Glass is one of my most anticipated releases for this year. I have been looking forward to this book for months. It did come in early at my work and since we could go ahead a sell it; we didn’t have to wait till today’s official street date, I picked it up last week. So here is my short first impressions. I just finished chapter seven so I am not very far into it. About 90 pages. It is around 330 pages total.
The description was a little misleading at first. I thought both Lynet and Mina were 16 during this story. Which is partly true. In the chapters where we follow Mina; at least so far, she is 16. But in Lynet’s chapters Mina is 32. Mina was 16 when Lynet was born and it has been mentioned that Lynet was a few years or so old when Mina married her father. I am enjoying the story so far. Lynet has not been giving the southern territories yet but her birthday should be within the next few chapters so the rough patch between them should soon be coming up.
It is starting to show though. Lynet recently found out that she is made of snow and has been very upset that no one told her before. Especially toward Mina who Lynet was sure would be the one person who would tell her everything.
--One-Punch Man Volume 12 by One and illustrated by Yusuke Murata “At the martial arts tournament, Suiryu of the Dark Body Art shows promise with his outstanding strength. But outside the stadium, a large number of monsters are pushing the heroes, even Genos, to their limits! Saitama, unaware, awaits his true match against Bakuzan!”
This parody series has finally entered its tournament stage. Most of the volume follows quick matches in the tournament while Genos is out keeping monsters from getting too close to the stadium. A few other heroes; at least the ones still standing, are also out there but no one seems to know what is causing the outbreak in monsters. And we finally get to see Watchdog Man fight. Well, a glimpse really. But I’ve been curious about him for a while because up till now I only remember seeing him sitting and watching over his city.
--Queen’s Quality Volume 1 by Kyousuke Motomi “Fumi Nishioka lives with Kyutaro Horikita and his family of “Sweepers,” people who specialize in cleaning the minds of those overcome by negative energy and harmful spirits. Fumi has always displayed mysterious abilities, but will those powers be used for evil when she begins to truly awake as a Queen? Fumi has never shown much romantic interest in Kyutaro, the quiet but formidable Sweeper who may be the only one who can help keep Fumi’s power under control. But when Kyutaro tells her that he’ll never leave her side, she unexpectedly starts to fall for him!”
The sequel to QQ Sweeper by Kyousuke Motomi. I loved her series Dengeki Daisy so when I heard another series by her was coming out I was very excited. Overall I didn’t like QQ Sweeper as much as I enjoyed Dengeki Daisy but the series is still enjoyable. And a little darker with all the negative energy that people can have and the problems that they face. If you haven’t read the first series, Sweepers clean away the negative energy that people have in order to help them. And not just in their mind but by also cleaning their home with regular check ups.
--Skip Beat Volume 39 by Yoshiki Nakamura “Kyoko finally knows why her mother treated her so coldly when she was a child, and the story is more tragic and full of betrayal than she could have guessed. But hearing the painful truth isn’t a new wound on Kyoko’s fragile soul. In fact, it actually releases her from some of the ghosts of her past. She might never have a loving relationship with Saena, but she’s more determined than ever to become an actress to make them both proud.”
I am behind on this series. I only own up to volume 25 but I usually read and flip through the new volumes as they come out. I didn’t get to read all of the last volume so I don’t know all the details surrounding the story Saena was telling Kyoko. I am happy that their relationship has improved but still a little strained, if that’s the right word here. It’s a more realistic approach.
--Sun Bakery: Fresh Collection by Corey Lewis “Mecha-suit space documentarians, wish-fulfillment magic jackets, social-status swordplay - just a taste of the stories featured in Sun Bakery….Collecting the completed stories “Dream Skills,” “Arem,” “Layered Jacket,” as well as supplementary artwork and more.”
This graphic novel caught my eye because of its cover. The art style looks really good and the stories sound strange. Strange is always a good thing. Except strange like how some movies I saw recently are strange.
--Tales of Zestiria Volume 2 by Shiramine The second volume based off the hit video game. I unfortunately can find almost no information about this volume. Every description I looked up just told the same thing that was on the back of volume one, the English edition I could not find on Goodreads, and I have not had an opportunity to pick up the first volume so I am not sure where it ends and picks up here. I am going to guess that volume one ends with Sorey becoming a Shepard or leaving his village of spirits for the first time ever.
In Games --Destiny 2 Yes, technically the street date is tomorrow but the midnight release is tonight. And I’ve heard that we might be able to get it around 11pm instead of midnight so we are going to consider this a release for today. I am very excited to finally see some new planets. And I hope the story will be a bit less jumbled.
Oh but how I already miss my swords, my Iron Gjallarhorn, my favorite ship and sparrow. But most of all my Black Spindle.
FOR THE LOOT!
In Movies --Gosick P2 “The petite detective and her confidant return! After a pleasant summer, their new semester starts off with a strange case involving an alchemist named Leviathan. But even after successfully solving this case, the duo cannot rest when Victorique is suddenly swept away to a convent. And as more is unveiled about the Gray Wolf’s powers, these two find themselves with their biggest mystery yet!”
The second part of this series rerelease by Funimation. Contains episodes 13-24. I have not had a chance to try this series out yet but I still really want to.
--The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks “ An African-American woman becomes an unwitting pioneer for medical breakthroughs when her cells are used to create the first immortal human cell line in the early 1950′s.”
Based off the book The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks by Rebecca Skloot which is about the true story of how Henrietta Lacks’ cells where taken without her knowledge. Her cells were used to find the vaccine for polio; uncovered secrets of cancer, viruses, and the atom bomb’s effects; helped lead to important medical advances like cloning, gene mapping, and vitro fertilization. Her unknowing contributions to science would not be known to her family until 1975. This movie and the book goes over all the importance that Mrs. Lacks’ cells were used for as well as the family’s response to finding out what was done to her without her consent.

When You Want Something Vegetarian Or Vegan

It’s possible a big bowl of raw fish, rice, and toppings sounds like your personal form of protein-focused luxury. Even if that’s not the case, you can probably still acknowledge that Chikarashi’s poke bowls aren’t something you’re making at home (unless you have a casual, sushi-grade fish supplier). You can place your delivery order directly through their website or on GrubHub.
 Whole Bowl $ $ $ $ Vegetarian ,  Vegan  in  Williamsburg $$$$ 488 Metropolitan Ave Not

NON-SPOILER REVIEW Overall: This was so much better than (at least) the last one (Episode 4)! This was so much more enjoyable and interesting and just a lot of fun to watch! I almost didn’t go this time because while I love the anime and I was super hyped for the stage series, it’s always been pretty forgettable to me. So I nearly didn’t go because whats the point when I keep getting disappointed and none of my oshis are in it but... my fav character was back, Himemiya, I have this huge crush on Hiramaki Jin still, and he’s back this time around by some miracle(!), and we knew it was going to be a completely different story so I was interested in seeing something I couldn’t have expectations for but was with a cast/characters I liked. So I went...
Tumblr media
Also every time I’ve had freaking amazing seats. Episode 1: row 5, Episode 2: 10th row, aisle, Episode 3: 11th row aisle, 4th row: 11th row left side and this time: 7th row aisle. You can’t give up luck like that, can you?! And the seat alone is a big enough reason to say this time was so much better! Because of my seat, I had Hiramaki Jin RIGHT behind me. I had Kanegae’s butt right in my face. I have Aoki Jin run past me so fast. I had Izaki run past me and my hair just blew back. During curtain call I’m pretty sure KishiTaku spotted and remembered me and he got this amused smile on his face and wouldn’t look away (I was in my seat WISHING a kankeisha was behind me but I knew there wasn’t). Everyone outside of the stage/story itself was such a good experience. And can I just remind everyone how amazing the pre-show music is?! I freaking love it! Just let me sit in that theatre for 2 hours listening to that pre-show music please!! Or give me a gosh darn CD! xD Then the story itself; it was so interesting! I LOVE what they did and the character dynamics! It was sooooooo good! This stage allowed the lesser ‘important’ characters to develop and show their personalities which was nice. And then the stunts!! Again, please like Aoki Jin just stood out. It was a LOT more obvious this time who had kept up with their training and who hadn’t which made those that had carried on, stand out and look even more amazing -- although I was relieved to see Izaki’s knee muscles had softened a little. And we had freaking Hayate who did (what I think) is the most dangerous stunt of them all and you literally heard the entirety of the audience shit themselves and gasp. It was amazing. OH! The length this time was just right! It’s 2 hours and 20 minutes! I remember being so pissed when episode 4 came about and it was like less than 2 hours (turns out it was supposed to be 2 hours and 10 minutes) and no break. HOW CAN A FINALE BE THE SHORTEST ONE?! Anyway... this was the perfect length for them this time I think - especially because this one is a stand alone story. The character development was really good too! Especially Riku and his brother. And the other school’s members development too was great! I was so emotionally involved this time around that I was crying at the end at a few parts! This was just SO MUCH BETTER! If they’re gunna keep doing PuriStage like THIS one then please, bring out 5 more and I’ll definitely go! My literally only one (new) complaint is the ending. But that’s spoilers so I’ll talk about that later. My complaints about DJ Stride and Nana still stand though. OH! And the AfterTalk was so much fun too! Rating: 7.5/10
SPOILER REVIEW
STORY
So certain members of each school have been selected to join the EAST JAPAN national(?) team, obviously this causes the not-selected team members to either be pissed, get hurt, feel jealous or feel left out, which leads them to create their own rival team: vs East Japan. And so these two teams compete to see who really deserves to be given professional Stride opportunities. Meanwhile, Tomoe gives up Stride so he can take over and continue the family bakery, stating he doesn’t want to do Stride anymore.
*
That’s the bare basics of this story and that is all you really need to know about the story because it focuses very heavily on everyone’s relationships. Suddenly teams are getting broken apart because one or two of them have been picked for this national team which means they can’t go to their school’s training etc. On top of that, because of the rival team, old team mates are now competing against each other so it’s like “I want to beat you but I still want to be your friend after all this” which causes tension. There’s also tension WITHIN the groups themselves. They ALL used to be rivals and now they have to start working together as a team?! Course that ain’t gunna go so smoothly! The story is just SO damn good! I absolutely loved that the teams mixed and they had to start working together and the conflicts and problems that arised within and between the two groups/teams were so great!!! It got even more juicy when the school members would be AGAINST each other in the races! My favourite was definitely Himemiya versus Hachiya! Oh my emotions... they kept/keep ALL the ‘versus’ pairings a secret until you actually see the stage so they were all surprises to us, which I loved! Although I know my friend said she would’ve preferred it if she’d known about who was racing who BEFORE the show. But personally I think that would’ve ruined a few things such as who’s on who’s team and things. Other pairings like Riku vs Takeru were blatantly obvious they were going to happen so I still stand by that I agree with Trifle for not revealing the teams and rival pairings beforehand.
A huge plus this time around, as stated above, was the fact it was an original story. So while we all knew these characters and we liked them, we were getting something different, something exciting, something we didn’t technically know (maybe this story is part of the game? But from the way they kept the pairing and the pairing bromides a secret makes me think it was an original story for the stage), and because of the story splitting the teams up, we could get some less known characters or less popular characters into the spotlight, or we could get more character development from others. It definitely felt like Hounan was the less interesting and less main this time around which was great and we could focus on others. Even though Riku and Hounan are technically still the main focus, I felt this stage gave them less time and more time to others. Which, me being bias towards others, was a godsend! We like how we spent more time with Takeru rather than Riku this time too and we got to see more of his development and his struggle and I felt he was more relate-able this time around.
Tumblr media
The main character development I was happy about was the rift that occurs within Ichijyoukan. We have Himemiya and Shishibara being picked for the EAST JAPAN team while Samejima and Hachiya have been left behind and join the Versus team. And then, as said before, it gets even more juicy when Hachiya and Himemiya go head-to-head; you can see how much Hachiya respects and loves Himemiya and I love how no matter what happens in the race, it isn’t going to cause bad blood between them. And there’s this BEAUTIFUL scene towards the end when Himemiya has been chosen to go further in the EAST JAPAN selection series while the other three are being left behind and they got him a signed Ichijyoukan towel and it seems like he isn’t interest but then (I’m going to tear up thinking about it!) he swings the towel behind him and wears it almost like a flag around him and I just got so emotional - Himemiya is a little shit but you can tell he cares for his teammates, he appreciates them, he supports them even though it looks like all he focuses on is winning.... ahhh my heart!!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Also, with this shift in character/team focus, some lesser appreciated characters got more love. The three that caught my eye were Natsunagi Toya, Tomaru Kansuke and Kamoda Kei. And what got me cracking up part way through about these characters/cast most of all was that I couldn’t help they all felt like my friends’-oshis and when I spoke to my friends after they were like ‘yup that’s one of mine’ xD BUT I love how much more time they got! I’ve always liked Natsunagi and his actor - I’ve always thought he was totally adorable in the anime and the actor himself looks totally adorable, in fact he reminds me of someone.... the Yamanaka twins maybe? -- and he got more time in this which was so nice! Then we had Taguchi/Tomaru (by the way, his picture on the PuriStage site does not do him justice, he looks MUCH cuter in real life) and he has some issues to work through this time around and he takes his anger out on people and for quite a while he has a lot of frustration and he’s upset about the whole EAST JAPAN and not being chosen for it etc. I think his yelling scene was very well done and it shows just how little hope he has even though he’s good enough to be in the Versus group. And then we had Kamoda; it DID help I got that moment where he butt was right in front of my face but this time around he just seemed much more interesting to me and he’s cute so can you blame me?!
As for the new people... there were 5:
Matsunaga Arisa as Sakurai Nana Team Tsubakimachi: Suga Masanori as Minato Shugo, Nakamura Tarou as Sata Kazuki and Kurosaki Reon as Shizuno Makoto. HAYATE as Isurugi Isamu
We all know, I don’t give a shit about Nana, you can take her out completely and I’d be more satisfied. I GET why she is so predominate in the main story, I GET IT but I just don’t want her in it. She annoys me, she’s not exactly interesting, she’s only in it because of her father (yes I went there), just no thank you. Don’t care how many times you change the actress. Just leave. Yes the actresses are very nice and very sweet and I like actresses who’ve played her. I just don’t like Nana. MOVE ALONG.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Ah man Tsubakimachi.... I HATED these guys!! Well two of them. As soon as they came onstage I fucking hated Shizuno Makoto - this bratty arrogant cock head. And just UGH go die Minato Shugo; his hair is TOO anime and annoying as fuck and oh my god, don’t get me started on his voice. Maybe like 10 years ago I would’ve like the stereotypical ‘hair covering eyes and a soft voice’ character but now they just ANNOY me. UGH....
Tumblr media
BUT SATA KAZUKI! OH MY! I LOVED THIS BOY STRAIGHT AWAY!!! And the actor Tarou too! His so tall and lean and he’s a good mixture of competitive and devoted but also a little shit. I love how we have the backstory of Kata and Takeru used to be in the same Stride group and Kata bullied him because naturally my brain goes ‘SEXUAL TENSION!!!’ and just... Kata is sexy and mean and great okay!! He doesn’t go overboard like Izumi-mean (if you catch my EnStar/EnStage reference there) in terms of bullying but OH! Did I mention he’s sexy?! I looooooooooved him and he has the whole jacket falling off one shoulder that just so sexy.... ohmyyyyy. But his two team mates are fuckheads okay.
I really want to see Kata and Takeru go head to head. Can we have a spin off which them in middle school and see what it was like? Or should I just go and doujinshi that shit?
So lets just have some appreciation for ALL the non-Hounan guys that entertained me and that I loved in Episode 5
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
HAYATE! Oh my Hayate is the BOMB! We all know people like Aoki Jin are really talented and good at the stuff in PuriStage but holy fuck, this old man is LEAGUES above everyone else. It never registered with me before but he did ALL the choreography and parcour training for these boys in PuriStage! He did it ALL! And you can tell why! Holy shit... he was doing his own stunts! He was JUMPING OFF the top platforms and onto the floor and it was so flawless and so freaking amazing and he’d doing it while HOLDING ONTO HIS HAT! Like straight away the ability level is way above everyone else. And then he has one scene where he’s training EAST JAPAN team (he’s in charge of them) and he asks what would be the best way to get over this one course; so three of the boys give three different ways and he’s like ‘you’re all right but slow so y’all wrong’ and he proceeds to show them the right way and he literally jumps ONTO A BAR! THE BAR IS LIKE 7+ FEET IN THE AIR. HE JUMPS ON THIS BAR WITH ONE FOOT and has enough power to jump onto a different platform! WHAT THE FUCK?!!? This was the moment that audience absolutely SHIT themselves. There were actual gasps during this moment and the entire room got tense and it was crazy. I’ll be replaying the SHIT out of that scene when it’s on DVD. Seriously, MY explanation is not giving it justice. He JUMPED from a 7+ ft platform onto a SINGLE BAR and onto another 5 ft high platform... WTF?!?!?!? Aoki Jin, you’re good but Hayate clearly showed how superior he is to everyone there for this sport that isn’t even real xD
Can you clearly see how much more I enjoyed this episode?! It took 4 stages (like 8 hours of wasted time... more like 13 if you include goods lines and stuff haha) but we got to a part that was just soooo juicy and gooooddd!! Seriously, PuriStage can continue their series so long as they continue doing things like this; original plot lines, other school focuses, mixed up competitions etc. YES!
And how could I forget to talk about my beloved Hiramaki Jin <3 I was a little worried partway through the show because in the beginning in the opening he was running around the stage just like everyone else but then in the actual play himself, he and Kobayashi were in their uniforms. BUT in the second half they turn up in EAST JAPAN and Jin runs in the final EAST JAPAN versus VS EAST JAPAN match. Kobayashi explains that Jin/Reiji does actually want this and so they cancelled their live for Reiji -- which is the sweetest thing ever!!! So Jin ran in the last race and of course looked great! But before the match he came into the audience area and he was right behind me and I just couldn’t stop looking. He’s so pretty and I’m so glad he was back this time around *cries* I understand why these two spent so much time out of the main story and why they were in it this time; one is to create mystery ‘why they in it if they ain’t going to race?’, another is because they’re damn popular characters you have to have them, another is the actors themselves almost always work with Trifle now so clearly they have a good relationship with the cast, staff and crew so they probably got asked if they wanted to return and did so, another reason is that these guys are much older than the other cast so in order to keep them safe and not over-worked they didn’t give them big whole chunks of Stride-ing. We don’t want wonderful actors like Jin and Kobayashi and KishiTaku getting hurt do we! We leads me actually TO KishiTaku! He also spent a lot of time NOT Stride-ing this time around and again I get it’s because of his age; he still did a damn good job when he DID Stride, just like Jin did, but they convenietly brought back in ‘Heath your injury is bad again isn’t it?’ in order to keep KishiTaku from stretching himself too far. I get all these reasons why they did what they did.
PS. No way am I complaining, I just felt the need to explain to those who maybe see the DVD and love one of these actors or characters and question ‘well what’s the point if they ain’t doing Stride?’ so here you go.
Ahhh Jin....
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
But Alex, what about the main guys?! Okay... I guess I’ll talk about them...
So the main part of the main characters/school this time is Riku and Tomoe’s relationship, and Riku’s character development (because isn’t it always *yawn* he’s so immature and I feel he never really develops). Riku is obviously hurt that Takeru got picked over him to be in EAST JAPAN so he has some hurt feelings towards the team and towards himself rather than Takeru - which is good - and he wonders why he was not good enough. Then we have the Tomoe plot line; he gives up Stride in order to help at the bakery because their father is ill. While Tomoe explains that he’s in his final year, he can’t do Stride forever and he always planned on taking over the store anyway, so might as well leave now before he gets scouted for EAST JAPAN or something. And stupid Riku takes it from face value and believes Tomoe!! What an idiot! But slowly, people like Heath go to his shop and ask ‘is this really what you want?’ and we also have Taiyou’s voice as NAME HERE calling from America (which is why he isn’t here this time) and telling him ‘the three of us should race together again’ so Tomoe starts to face his real feelings again. There is this beautiful moment towards the end where he gets back into his Stride gear and he’s racing and he finally admits and yells ‘I WANT TO DO STRIDE’ and I was so emotionally involved with him by that point that I was just streaming!
Tumblr media
Some other scenes that I love were just so ridiculous and cracked me up. I love how the banana joked carried on from the previous stages in this one and we had one of the PURPLE GUYS taking the banana and eating a massive chunk of it in one go xD Also we had the twins from THE OHTER SCHOOL who had the weirdest warming up stretches and stuff and 50% of the audience were too busy watching and laughing at them rather than paying attention to the slightly serious topics going on between the rest of the EAST JAPAN members xD and sometimes one of the characters would point out and go ‘what the fuck are they doing?! Do you see this?!’ which was hilarious!
I loved the ending when GLASSES GUY was crying and acting like a mother watching her son go to war with the whole handkerchief in hand and waving pose xD speaking of the ending; I didn’t like it. I really like how Takeru is the only one to get picked to go the international races and he’s about to go and Nana and Riku are like ‘don’t worry, we’ll see you there next year’ which was beautiful BUT THEN THEY HAD TO RUIN IT and Dan-sensei gets a call and they’re requesting at Riku and Nana join the team too so they don’t have to wait a year and I thought it completely ruined it. WHY?! WHY?!?!? It was perfect and mature of them being okay with Takeru going off on his own, WHY did you have to.... anime-cliche it and allow the others to go too?! OHHHH I really hate this ending. WHY?!
Unfortunately we’re finishing on a negative here ^^^^ but in general I really, really enjoyed this installment! So much better then episode 4 for definite, so much better than the main story. I really loved this one! I kinda of hope we will get another but judging from tweets and stuff, it sounds like this really was the last one -- at least with this cast... but time will tell.
*
I am sooooooooo behind as usual, even though I only had two plays this month! I had an entire month to catch up and I just didn’t! I SUCK! I’m sorry. And July... holy shit July is fucking crazy.... prepare yourselves for THAT schedule.
