6 Evil Corporations and Their Fictional Dystopian Counterparts
This took me a hot minute, but it was totally worth it. I did some research on 6 corporations and assigned them their very own fictional dystopian corporation. It's like presenting them all with an award, except the award is shame. Let's begin.
Speculative fiction is, and always has been, political. So it’s no surprise that so many commentaries on the failures of capitalism draw such striking parallels to existing corporations. Evil corporations, some might say. I decided to dig up some info on said existing corporations and present some of their, ahem, alleged activities, assigning them their very own dystopian corporations in fiction…

God I pray
The people of Yemen get fed
The floods in Pakistan be brought to the shoppers clicking on their 10th unnecessary Amazon purchase
Immigrants trying to get to work on the bus can make it home without violence
The peasant farmers’ harvests overflow
The Monsanto executives are haunted every second of every day by the faces of the farmers that commit suicide because of their greed
The billions of dead birds poisoned every year by chemically coated seeds fill the buildings of Bayer
Indigenous people around the world protecting the Earth are kept safe from Darren Woods and Wael Sawan
I curse the greed to poison our water and clear our wetlands leaves Michael and Chantell Sackett’s developments in ruins
God I pray one day the fire of injustice consumes us and we burn every single billionaire’s home and from the ashes build the world the future needs. That one day all the oppressed people of the world will come together and realize the power they hold and take down the people that make our children work in factories that steal our water and resell it to us.
I’m sorry I have no more love in me to offer.
I only have fire now.

Over 10,000 years of GENETIC MODIFICATION is on your plate!
Any grain, bean, or leafy green is a product of HUMAN INTERVENTION! ANY fruit you can purchase is CHOCK FULL of GMOS.
If you'd like to stay away from genetically modified ingredients, you NEED to start foraging your own food. ANYTHING that can be grown by humans is genetically modified. Think about it... planting something, picking the best crop, replanting, IS genetic modification.
I'll be praying for you and yours 🙏💖
What you are speaking of is selective breeding.
Selective breeding is limited by the life cycle
of the plant and the genetic variants that are
naturally present. Selective breeding is the
process of developing a plant or animal based
on selecting desirable characteristics of the
parent. Selective breeding is the mating process
of two organisms.
Genetically modified organisms (GMOs) are
those that have had their DNA directly altered
through genetic engineering. Introducing new
genes. Genetic modification combines two
organisms that could never breed naturally.
Transgenic crops are not in harmony with
nature. GMOs have been shown to toxically
affect several organs and systems of the body.
These are not the same thing.
More than 70% of foods sold in the US are
derived from genetically modified organisms (GMOs).
Yes, it's quite a feat to eat well today and keep one's family safe from frankenfoods and murderous products. But it can be done.

Bayer and Monsanto Settle with Oregon
Bayer and Monsanto Settle to Pay Oregon for PCB Pollutants
Bayer and Monsanto have settled a lawsuit with Oregon, agreeing to pay the state almost $700 million over PCB pollution allegations. Polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs) are toxic compounds formerly used in many applications, from coolants to copy machines and fluorescent light bulbs. Monstanto is the only company ever to manufacture PCBs in the United States, a factor which helped lead to their…

Double dose of bad news for Bayer (which acquired Monsanto). In a case that I posted a link to this week, federal court ruled Friday that the EPA must reconsider whether glyphosate — the active ingredient in Bayer’s Roundup weedkiller — poses a health risk to humans and endangered species. Now, the US Supreme Court rules against Bayer. Excerpt from this EcoWatch story:
The U.S. Supreme Court has rejected an appeal by German company Bayer AG to dismiss legal claims by customers who assert one of its products — glyphosate-based Roundup weedkiller — causes cancer. The multinational chemical and pharmaceutical company could potentially owe billions of dollars in damages, reported Reuters.
The decision by the Supreme Court meant a verdict by a lower court that had upheld $25 million awarded to Edwin Hardeman — a California resident and Roundup consumer who blamed Bayer’s weedkiller for his cancer after using it at his home for 26 years — was left intact.
In 2015, Hardeman was diagnosed with non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma and contended that Bayer hadn’t given a warning as to the cancer risks of glyphosate, The Washington Post reported.
“[N]ow thousands of other cancer victims can continue to hold Monsanto accountable for its decades of corporate malfeasance,” lawyers representing Hardeman, Jennifer Moore and Aimee Wagstaff said in a statement, as reported by The Washington Post.
Bayer acquired Monsanto, the original maker of Roundup, in 2018.
The International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) classified the herbicide glyphosate as “probably carcinogenic to humans” in 2015.
Bayer is currently in the midst of thousands of lawsuits, with another Bayer appeal on the horizon for the Supreme Court in the weeks to come, Reuters reported. The Court’s rejection of the current appeal by Bayer led to a 2.9 percent dip in the company’s share
