Chelone AU - rough designs

OK with the new Percy Jackson show coming out TOMORROW I have very high hopes and I think at least some passive brainrot will take hold so I decided to channel that into my active brainrot and…. well. It may have gotten out of hand.

So now I present to you the Chelone AU, a Rise - Percy Jackson AU where the boys are all campers at Camp Half Blood who are sent on a quest together after Leo is assigned a prophecy. However, they return almost a month later in failure — the prophecy is incomplete, the group was cursed on their quest, and now they’re no longer… exactly human.

These are just some rough designs/doodles of the characters in their human forms and turtle forms — maybe I’ll clean them up later, but it gives the idea.

I’ve got a comic planned with this that will hopefully have a chapter each week while the show is being released. Keep an eye out for chapter one!

You know, I never really considered before why Ibott named his creation after the woman with a face that sunk a thousand ships. Or why he gave her a codename of someone created solely to be her makers' wife and love. The idea of Ibott wanting Helen as an adult, as an adult....

Fuck this story just keeps throwing me the most dismal curveballs. You think creating a child solider subject to constant verbal abuse and lack of autonomy is bad! Lets throw in that her creator is fucking grooming her! Jesus Christ!

I don't think its just for shock value or general grim-darkness though. I've already talked about how wildbow seems to return to bodily autonomy as a central theme throughout his work, and in Twig this manifests as a focus on creation of a being for instrumental purposes/treating your progeny as something you are owed control over. Still percolating on what exactly wildbow is doing with the theme though. Still new to that kind of lit analysis.

Anyway, kinda funny to run into this line after I just recently made a few art pieces using scenes and quotes from Worm that hit on the same Nabokov-tinted theme of creating something beautiful and horrific for twisted ends.

I just don't understand legacies basically shames landon every opportunity it gets

For someone who is introduced as the guy and the male lead and as the miracle golden son who was literally immortal ,son of a god level Powerful monster/ who consumes gods themselves he is a born breed living being whose father is a magical construct who possess all of his strength and none of his weaknesses even his birth is like that of a god ( supernatural immaculate conception)

He is a miracle in every sense from his total existence and to how he is as a person after whatever he has gone through : he is a survivor who is basically abandoned by his mom and left for dead by his dad and he survived his entire life on his own through his way in the foster care abuses ( not to mention the whole Connor bullying thing In the school )he also is someone who is never meant to exist and he also is a cosmic mistake and the whole world was also trying to destroy him as well but he never had a family that would have the whole world burn down to save him the thing was he was never welcomed anywhere in his life he was always the extra someone who was seen as a burden NO ONE CAME TO RESCUE HIM HE NEVER HAD FRIENDS, FAMILY OR A HOME TO DO THAT FOR HIM until raf showed up so for 15 years he has been on his own

Landons been mentioned as a survivor time and time again for a reason but this show basically reduces him to a damsel in distress who needs to be saved all the time and confirms him as a some kind of obsession who is needed to be sacrificed for the greater good wtf ???

Being a survivor, extremely intelligent and a badass fighter and a hero is in his blood he is after all the son of seylah cheron who was herself a badass monster assassin ( omg badass hunter landon from prison world robbed from us ) and a survivor hero

Sure landon is not skilled enough to fight because he chooses to use his brains rather than brawn because he never really had a chance to get in touch with his supernatural sides he is a person who avoids physical violence as much as he can for a deaf person their eyesights are deadly sharp the same way a person who can't or won't fight, their intelligent levels would be pretty high because that's their only way out to survive

Landons someone who has survived using his sheer intelligence all these years he is a very strong person mentally now just give him a situation where is backed to a corner with no way out except to use his brawns ( prison world storyline robbery) where he finally shows why he is the miracle golden boy in every sense where he shows his mom's side of badassness and how hard is it to give him a interesting storyline when he is literally the character with most potential with multiple powerful and interesting storylines

Just why landon Kirby can't have anything despite him being the male lead , the most interesting backstory, having the most potential to be a very impactful main character with a very powerful storyline and a message

Instead he is just trashed
