Jason: did you tell anyone that we're dating?
Percy: yes, Jason. I have no self control and I told the whole group that we're dating.
Jason: okay, but there's no need for the sarcasm.
Percy: no seriously, I have no self control and I told the whole group that we're dating.
Nico, sharpening a knife: well, it was a nice relationship while it lasted.

The offhand reveal that Nico casually keeps bits of human bone on him just in case (and also he can shape those bits of bone into things like keys) lives in my head rent-free. He needs to get into a locked garden so he just pulls a human fingerbone out of his pocket so he can shape it into a key and based on Will's non-reaction this is not unusual behaviour for him. This is a thing. Nico has human bones on him at all times just in case he needs them. It is now a canon part of his character that he does this. I love it.

I don’t think I’ve ever seen someone point out that the Infinite Realms wouldn’t cut off the universe because of the GIW. Like, when the Realms threatens to cut contact in order to prevent the mass destruction of all things, that wouldn’t happen.
After all, it’s not the entire universe that is trying to destroy existence, it’s just humanity.
The Realms would instead wipe out the entire planet-fast, painless. There would be no emotions with their deaths and so no ghosts would be formed.
Imagine Danny having to order the extermination of all life on earth in order to protect the rest of the multiverse. It’s… It’s really depressing actually.

Tired of homebrewing inns? Just make one and keep putting it in every settlement your players arrive in with the same staff running it. Have the staff act annoyed if the change in location is ever mentioned, like it's a joke they've heard too many times from adventurers.

removing the username bc I think they might just be a kid, but it's kind of funny that this person points out a very common phrase used in media that deals with trauma and then goes "how have I never seen this outside of minecraft youtubers" Like, bestie, I think it's because you only consume minecraft youtuber videos.

While it might be an interesting enough topic to explore, personally I don't think attachment issues are going to be much of a problem for Astarion, ultimately. This particular angst is sort of a non-issue to me. He's most likely going to have them, yes, but he will work through it.
Player: "I care for you a great deal. That's never changing." Astarion: "After all this, I've realised it's all right if it does change. If anything changes."
If you break up with him obviously he's upset, but as he tells you, he is living again and will continue to do so. He can and will dump you, and has multiple opportunities to do so and be perfectly fine on his own afterwards (assuming Cazador isn't still alive, which has nothing to do with his potential romantic attachments).
Nor does he appreciate the notion of relying on somebody for anything, including his lover. He appreciates the sentiment of wanting to keep him safe, but he's clearly irritated by the notion: "It would be nice not to have to rely on you as my great protector". He wants his freedom and his self-determination and he's going to have it.
Note that if you fail to convince him not to ascend and then try to stop him, which he perceives as robbing him of self-determination/freedom, he either tells you to "die screaming" and walks out or tries to kill you himself. No amount of approval will stop him: Your love is not more important to him than his freedom and ability to determine his own destiny. The only reason you can talk him out of it is by pointing out that he's being ruled by fear, that ascension will rob him of that and turn him into someone he hates. The fact that ascension is not on the table anymore might knock that drive back a bit while he takes the time to recalibrate and find his feet again, but I highly doubt it will stick: He didn't suffer 200 years of misery, come out the other end ready to fight, and then claw back his freedom, then decide it's time for him to reclaim his life only to sell it to somebody else, no matter the pedestal they might stand on.
If he does ascend and you leave him he gets over it in a few days. He might think of you from time to time between schemes and blood orgies, but he considers it beneath him to seek out your attention. If you turned illithid then the dev notes will happily point out that he didn't think of you or miss you at all. Possessive as he might be of his property, you're not actually that important to him compared to himself.
He tells you he will be fine without you, and if he loses you he demonstrates that he will be fine without you. He's a very self-interested person, and imo, at his core remains so when romanced (people can talk about how sweet he is with Durge all they like, but as a durgestarion enjoyer I find he's actually incredibly insensitive a lot of the time. It's a bonus. Get the feral ending and he flat out tells you your relationship is doomed because you'll remind him too much of the aspects of vampirism he hates the most and he's going to prioritise his wellbeing. Sure, he'll carry you in his heart forever and grieve your horrific ending, but he's clearly ok enough in life to go to the party, dressed up nicely, and share a toast with other people he cares about: He'll live). Selfishness is a flaw and a strength of his.
Astarion wants his partner: he doesn't need them. If he identitifes co-dependent behaviours in himself he will want to unlearn it. He sets boundaries and he expects them respected, and he will enforce them - as he does in-game. The lover is not that important in the grand scheme of things.

I do want to point out:
Ludinus knowing Laerryn's name is not, in and of itself, proof that he was alive during the Age of Arcanum.
Laerryn was on his list of "people to reach out to." But this document was in his home in Molaesmyr, a city he arrived in 500 years post-Divergence. Why would he keep that document, knowing that Laerryn fell with Avalir and that her body was irrecoverable? Why would it be pinned on his wall like it's important, over 500 years after Laerryn's death when speak with dead is off the table?
We know that Avalir itself is known about in present-day Exandria by esoteric scholars and specialists. Imahara Joe has a book that talked about it, so it's not like it's completely forgotten, and honestly, the entirety of the Ring of Brass were so involved with Avalir's internal politics and inner workings that there's no way their names weren't written down a hundred times over in various records, reports, and news clippings. It's not out of the realm of possibility that Ludinus was able to get ahold of this information, especially with Laerryn being so prominently involved with Avalir's most intricate arcane mechanics and experiments.
So I think that this list was of people Ludinus wanted to contact using the contact other plane spell. It reads as follows:
You mentally contact a demigod, the spirit of a long-dead sage, or some other mysterious entity from another plane. Contacting this extraplanar intelligence can strain or even break your mind. When you cast this spell, make a DC 15 Intelligence saving throw. On a failure, you take 6d6 psychic damage and are insane until you finish a long rest. While insane, you can’t take actions, can’t understand what other creatures say, can’t read, and speak only in gibberish. A greater restoration spell cast on you ends this effect. On a successful save, you can ask the entity up to five questions. You must ask your questions before the spell ends. The DM answers each question with one word, such as "yes," "no," "maybe," "never," "irrelevant," or "unclear" (if the entity doesn’t know the answer to the question). If a one-word answer would be misleading, the DM might instead offer a short phrase as an answer.
Personally, I think that Laerryn would most definitely count as "the spirit of a long-dead sage," as would most other pre-Calamity archmages (which I can only assume Vishtaron and Vatora were). The spell is on the wizard and warlock spell lists, so it's entirely within the realm of possibility for Ludinus -- plus, it even plays into his particular flavor of anti-theist magic, since it's essentially a non-divine version of commune.

Thinking about the fact that no one in Imperium is seeming to make a big deal about Jordana being missing, here's two options about the status of her parents:
a.) They're dead
b.) They don't care that she left, and similar to how Sora's parents were, are purely only loyal to Imperium.
c.) They just aren't going to mentioned. On the one hand, this could happen, but with how Dragons Rising focuses on family it both feels a bit more unlikely, and if this did happen, disappointing.

There is something so fucking incredible about the idea that almost no one has seen the Yellowjackets in two decades. They’re ethereal. They’re phantoms. They’re a story. These girls, fucking champions, fell out of the sky. Their plane just obliterated. Half of them dead. The rest refuse to talk about any of it. Utterly uninterested in showing their faces. Sure, some of them live nearby, but you wouldn’t know it for how few fucks they seem to give.
And then four of them just roll up to the class reunion looking hot as fuck, like it’s absolutely nothing. Walking in as a team. Still not going to tell you a single detail. Still not interested in speaking to any of you. Doing shots together and ignoring your bullshit. Regina George, eat your fucking heart out.
