Eddie Munson Masterlist
Tumblr media
“Hey Steve.”
“Hi babe, what’s up?”
“Not much. How’s work?” you ask.
“Ok. You know…work,” he shrugs.
“Yep. Is Eddie around?”
“Yea, he’s in the back,” Steve answers, motioning behind him.
“Thanks. I have something for him.”
You can feel Steve watching you as you move around the counter and head toward the back room. You knock lightly and wait to hear Eddie’s voice before you push open the door.
“Hey!” he says, brightening as soon as he sees you.
“Hi Eddie,” you smile.
“Did you come to see me?” he asks, pointing his finger at his chest.
“I did,” you tell him, walking closer with your hands behind your back. “I have something for you.”
“For me?” he questions, his surprise evident.
You nod with a smirk.
He studies you, his eyes dropping to your hidden hands.
“Do you have a Gremlin behind there or something?” he jokes.
“Not quite. Better.”
“Really? What could be better than a Gremlin?” he asks wryly.
“Oh I don’t know….” You sing as you move closer to him.
He’s seated on one of the chairs, his legs spread wide and his D n D book in his hand.
You stop when you’re between his legs and lean down close to his face, pulling the book from his fingers and placing it on the table. The atmosphere instantly changes, the small space between you now charged with tension.
You can hear his breath hitch as his eyes drift to your lips. You fight to keep your own eyes on his, wanting nothing more than to close the distance and kiss him. His head tilts to the side and his hand reaches out to touch you, the light brush of his fingers making the hair on the back of your neck stand on end.
Without another word you whip your hands from behind your back and slide two tickets in front of his face.
His head jerks back and he stares at you before he looks at the tickets.
“No,” he whispers. “No FUCKING WAY!”
His voice gets louder the longer he looks at them and with shaky hands he takes them from your fingers and looks from the tickets to you several times before he let’s out a scream of happiness.
He starts dancing around the room, jumping up and down and shaking his head all around. His hair is wild and curly and his eyes are wide and he’s grinning from ear to ear.
Steve rushes into the back room, his head on a swivel as he looks between the two of you. Eddie rushes at him and grabs Steve’s shoulders, shaking him violently and screaming about Metallica.
“What the hell is going on?” Steve asks when he turns to you.
“I won Metallica tickets on the radio,” you say excitedly. “So Eddie and I are going this weekend.”
Eddie starts yelling again and fist pumping the air. He twirls his way back over to you and grabs you in a bear hug, lifting you off the ground and spinning around.
“Eddie,” you mumble into his hair.
He loosens his hold on you and you slowly slide down his body, feeling every inch of him.
When he finally sets you back on your feet his eyes roam over your face, his cheeks slightly pink. You flatten your palms on his chest and pull on one of his curls.
He swallows hard, licking his dry lips and asking in a breathless whisper, “are you really taking me to see Metallica?”
“Of course,” you answer. “Who else would I want to take?”
Before Eddie can answer, Steve chimes in and pulls you both from the moment.
“Oh, I dunno…ME MAYBE! Remember me? Your best bud Steve?”
Both you and Eddie make a scrunched-up face of confusion.
“You don’t listen to Metallica,” you tell Steve.
“Yea,” Eddie adds. “It’ll be too loud for your tender ears.”
“My tender…I don’t…I like…I listen to plenty of music!” Steve stammers.
Eddie grabs you again and crushes you to his chest.
“This is the BEST!” he says, not loosening his grip until you wrap your arms around his neck. “Thank you.”
Tumblr media
“Are you excited for tonight?” Robin asks Eddie.
Eddie is leaning over the counter, his fingers tapping across the top and his leg bouncing.
“I cannot fucking wait,” he answers, singing lyrics to himself. “I still can’t believe she’s taking me.”
“I know. She called as soon as she won the tickets and sounded so excited to tell you,” Robin says with a smile. “Then we were talking about what songs they might play and what she’s gonna wear but I’m not any help with that part so…”
Eddie slowly turns his head toward Robin, his eyes narrowed in suspicion.
“Why would it matter what she wears?” he asks as he straightens up.
“Because it’s a date,” Steve chimes as he walks by with a stack of video tapes.
Eddie’s head whips around so fast his face disappears behind a mass of curls before his terrified expression is revealed.
“A date…” he mumbles. “But…but…”
“What’s the problem Munson?” Steve asks with a mischievous grin.
“She never said it was a date!” Eddie squeaks. “Why is it a date? It can’t be a date!”
Robin shoots Steve a death glare and then carefully approaches Eddie, resting a soft hand on his shoulder.
“Don’t listen to him. Just go and have fun,” she tells Eddie.
“But what if I fuck this up?” Eddie asks, his eyes huge. “I mean…she’s perfect and I’m lucky she’s even my friend and if I do something stupid and then she hates me and then we can’t even be friends…”
He drops his head and digs his palms into his eyes, muttering to himself.
“Munson,” Steve says softly. “Come on, isn’t it obvious she likes you too? And why would you do anything stupid?”
“NO it’s not!” Eddie cries then shakes his head and throws his hands up.
“You’re a major butthead,” Robin whisper shouts to Steve before she elbows him. “FIX THIS BEFORE HE LEAVES FOR THE CONCERT!”
Tumblr media
Eddie arrives at your house early and waits outside in the van, his music blaring. The porch light catches his eye and he turns to see you open the door.
You step outside and give him a wave.
“Jesus H Christ,” he whispers, staring as you approach.
With another curse he wills himself to move and hops out of the driver’s door to rush around the front of the van and greet you.
His eyes sweep down your body before he catches your knowing smile.
“Hey,” he says and it comes out breathless. “You…uh…you look beautiful.”
“Thanks,” you giggle, reaching for the door.
Eddie quickly recovers and grabs the handle to open it for you.
“I love the bandana,” you tell him once you’re buckled in and he’s pulling out of the driveway. “The whole look works.”
He looks down at himself then back up at you with blinking eyes.
“Yea, you know…this is my usual stuff. I always look like I’m going to a rock concert.”
He turns his face back to the road and winces at his awkwardness.
“I know,” you tell him. “I really like it.”
The corner of his mouth lifts slightly and he lets out an exhale.
By the time you arrive at the venue his palms are sweaty and slipping from the steering wheel and his heart is hammering against his rib cage.
“Are you ok?” you ask him as he helps you out of the van.
“Yea,” he says with a vigorous shake of his head. “I’m great. Never better actually. I can’t fucking believe we’re about to see Metallica live!”
You squeal in excitement and grab his hand. “COME ON!”
As you weave through the crowd and head toward the stage you hold tightly to Eddie’s hand, his rings digging into your skin.
“Is this close enough?” you ask him when you stop on a less crowded spot on the grass.
“Holy shit,” he says, taking it all in.
“I know!” you say in agreement, giving his hand a squeeze.
You talk and wait as the start of the concert approaches and the area around you fills with more and more people. The crowd presses in and you step closer to Eddie, your side pushed up against his. A big and tall guy with a kind smile accidentally bumps into you, apologizing freely.
“Aw man, sorry babe,” the man says gruffly. “You ok?”
“Yeah, I’m fine, thanks,” you tell him with a smile.
“Better watch your girl man, it can get crazy out here,” the man warns Eddie kindly before he saunters off.
You turn your face to Eddie and he grins at you, throwing his arm around your shoulders and tucking you protectively into his side. You curl an arm around his waist and sneak the other between his leather jacket, resting your palm on his soft stomach.
When the lights on the stage go out and you hear the first chord of the guitar you and Eddie start screaming with the rest of the crowd.
Every song in the first set is amazing and your voice is hoarse from singing and screaming and your feet hurt from dancing around. Eddie never lets go of you the entire time and he always keeps you protected with his body.
When the first set is over Metallica leaves the stage for a short intermission and you and Eddie grab some beer and take a breather.
As you’re heading back to your spot you can feel Eddie’s eyes on you and you look over to see him staring.
“What?” you ask.
His gaze settles on your face and he slides his hands around your waist, tugging you closer to him.
“Thank you,” he says, his voice gravelly. “This has already been the best night of my life and it’s not even over yet.”
Without thinking he presses a quick kiss to your lips. He goes still and pulls away. He holds his hands up, his face pinched with worry as he starts to apologize.
“I’m so sorry sweetheart,” he says. “I shouldn’t have done that without asking. Shit, shit, shit. I knew I was gonna fuck this up and now you’re gonna…” he tries to keep rambling on, but you grab the sides of his leather jacket and drag his mouth back down to yours.
At first he’s too surprised to react but the moment you whisper his name against his lips, your tone pleading, he snakes his hands along your curves and slides one up your back, grabbing the back of your neck.
His other hand lifts to your face, his thumb brushing along your jaw before he cradles your cheek and deepens the kiss. You cling to him, sighing into the kiss when his tongue parts your lips. Your fingers climb and delve into his hair, the strands like silk along your skin.
The stage lights brighten around you and you barely notice, your body pressed so close to his you can feel his heart beat against his chest.
When you break apart to breathe he can’t take his mouth off you, trailing kisses down your throat before he finds your lips again. His hands tremble slightly as they explore any part of your skin he can find.
“Fuck, you’re so beautiful,” he murmurs against your lips.

Baby punk El this and baby punk El that. I love her to death but she's blossoming into someone else. So what about baby punk Steve?
Imagine Steve who's grown so much he feels like he's outgrown most of his previous interests and likes. Its hard to really fixate on cars and sports when every time you look at a car you remember hitting Max's brother with one, and baseball bats will forever remind you of fighting with one. Steve isn't remotely the same person he used to be, so who is he now?
Imagine Steve trying on all manners different ideals and outfits, flitting from one friend's style to another as he tries to find where he fits.
Nothing really clicks though. Nancy is too similar to what he already was, Robin's style only really suits her, Jonathan's is kinda... basic, Argyle just isn't the vibe really, and the kids are still coming into their own too.
That leaves Eddie.
Eddie who Steve could not be more different from, ostensibly.
But when Steve tells Eddie about what he's going through and what his goal is, Eddie takes him under his wing immediately.
He starts taking Steve into more metalhead spaces, lets him get to know what the community is actually like (They're mostly old friends of Wayne's, a biker group he used to ride with that pretty much adopted Eddie when he was younger too. They're also largely responsible for how Eddie is today). Steve is surprised by how welcoming they are, and how easily he gets along with them all. Since he's still relatively young and new to the scene, he's the group baby for once.
They become another pseudo family to him, though one that he doesn't have to constantly worry about protecting, rather one that protects him (Finally the baby instead of the baby sitter.) Especially after the night they got him drunk and he shared a "funny" anecdote about his parents forgetting him at home when they went on a two week vacation (They all silently agreed that if they ever meet the Harringtons, its on sight). They're the ones that help him really come to terms with how shitty his home life actually is, the ones that help him channel the anger that comes with that revelation.
Its still not quite what he was aiming for but he loves his new found family. And hey he does actually like this. Even some of the music, to Eddie's utter delight.
Steve slowly begins collecting bits of clothing that suit this new change in his life some of them he's stolen from Eddie and it makes him feel more settled in his skin.
But the first moment he finds what he's been looking for comes from what was supposed to be a joke.
One day when they're hanging out, Eddie sings David Bowie's Rebel Rebel to Steve, jokingly, but Steve immediately resonates with the lyrics. He begs Eddie to play him the whole song (he has a Bowie vinyl stashes under his bed, what kind of gay would he be if he didn't??) and when he does he wants to listen to it over and over again.
He starts picking up bits of Bowie's style too. Starts using Robin's eyeliner to doodle a couple little stars by his eyes when she's around, sometimes he'll borrow Nancy's a lip gloss and dab a little bit on his lips. Eddie starts calling him "Pretty Boy" instead of "Big Boy", and Stevie instead of Steve and he loves it.
The second huge revelation comes when he sees an actual punk in real life.
The spikes, the color, the attitude, the makeup, all of it calls to Steve like a siren song. It takes everything he has to calmly walk up to the punk in question and ask them about their style, about their scene. They happily explain (punks and metalheads are practically cousins, and Steve is dressed almost exclusively out of Eddie's closet that day) and Steve falls in love with it immediately.
Its such a good mixture of the bright, energetic style that’s Steve's underlying personality, along with the sharpness hes taken on since the Upside-Down invaded his life. Something about having spikes on his clothes is comforting to him, like having his nailbat close at hand without the implicit threat it carries.
The first thing he does is transform his letterman jacket into a punk jacket. Eddie helps him design it, and its an elaborate testiment to the things Steve has done and has been through. The kids help make buttons and pins and patches for it too, each new one like a medal bestowed on him for his bravery and his service to them over the years.
He then swaps out his running shoes for combat boots which take a little getting used to since they're heavy but it feels right. They sit tighter on him and he finds it reassuring. He could also knock out a fucking window with them, which he finds out by accident so that's a definite plus.
He keeps his blue jeans but stops replacing them when they rip and tear. Its part of the style and Eddie loves to play with the little bits of skin that peak through the holes.
He starts wearing actual makeup here and there and finds that he really likes it. The eyeliner makes his eyes pop in a way that everyone finds distracting and its fun. Plus Robin and Eddie both sit in his lap when they apply it for him which is a bonus.
The only thing that stays the same is the hair (give or take a couple streaks of color here and there). It suits him and the change in aesthetic doesn't really affect his hair. If anything it actually kinda makes more sense. He looks like a greaser but more aggressive and he loves it. (Steve might not have chosen to become a warrior, but its definitely a part of him by now, and a part that has kept his loved ones safe over the years. He can grieve what it cost him and still love it for what it gave him too.)
His parents however do not love it. Not that he sees them often enough to really care what they think anymore, but the one time they catch him home his mother nearly faints and his father gets so angry it takes Steve back to being a helpless child again for a moment.
He accuses him of all kinds of things, (ruining their reputation, embarrassing them, disappointing God, you name it) but its not until he starts blaming Eddie for the changes to Steve's persona and attitude that he snaps.
Steve lectures his father like he would one of his kids, because he's acting like one of them. He doesn't even realized he's gone into full Babysitter mode until he sees his Mother's face. He's just so used to being the mature adult in any given situation it came naturally.
His mother to his endless surprise takes his side, tells his father he's clearly a grown man now and he can make his own choices. His father somehow looks even more shocked than Steve feels.
Steve doesn't rekindle his relationship with them, but they have an understanding. Which is better than he'd dared hope they'd ever have.
Steve Harrington is a punk, and he absolutely loves it. He has a family of metalheads that adore him and herd of children are somewhere in the middle and forming their own identities. He has a best friend who makes up her own damn rules, and a handful of friends who probably wouldn't mind the rules even if they knew what they were. And he's got a boyfriend who's helped him grow into his favorite version of himself yet.

liam! it's your birthday! I'm so so so grateful for our friendship and I absolutely adore you! hope this little bit of fluff makes you smile! ilysm! @withacapitalp
Steve wakes up on the morning of his 20th birthday to find a warm beam of sunlight creeping in between the shades, rose gold and transparent against his skin. It slices him on a diagonal and smolders from the left side of his bare stomach to the right side of his forehead. He’s always loved the heat, and he can’t help but think that perhaps the sun was doing its best to signal the beginning of a good year— a Vecna-free year, a funeral-free year, an apocalypse-free year. Of course, he’s made this same wish on the morning of his last two birthdays too, but he staves off the pessimism in favor of hope. It’s a dangerous thing, hope, but Steve’s made a few dangerous decisions of late, so what’s one more?
The covers shift between his legs as he rolls to the side and untangles himself from the rogue sheet wrapped around his ankle. Dangerous, he thinks, as he drags himself into the bathroom and through his morning routine. Telling his friends he’s not as straight as they’d all thought might not have been dangerous in and of itself, but telling Eddie? Well, that feels dangerous. It feels like tiptoeing too close to a landmine, like packing up his heart into a convenient knapsack and walking out onto a tightrope. It feels like almost telling his crush he likes him, probably because he almost has no less than a dozen times.
Lather forms as he massages shampoo into his scalp in small circles before rinsing and going back in with conditioner— twice, like always, as he thinks about the party tonight. Since it’s been out there, since Steve learned Eddie likes men and Eddie learned Steve likes men, Steve’s nearly blurted it out high, drunk, and sober alike and that is definitely dangerous. Well, okay, maybe risky is a better word, but it’s all semantics anyways.
When they took the kids to the arcade the other day, he’d almost blurted it out at the skee-ball lane after watching Eddie help Max sink it right into the 50. When they sat around his pool the week before that, passing a joint back and forth as the stars twinkled above them, Steve’s brain had almost been cloudy enough to reach out and close the distance– to play with the curls that dipped into the crook of Eddie’s collarbone, or God, to hold his hand. When they sat around nearly a month ago, watching some terrible slasher movie Eddie chose called Return to Horror High, Steve’s dad’s whiskey was almost strong enough to let him invade Eddie’s personal space. Almost, again.
So many almost’s, and not nearly enough finally’s, he thinks to himself as he dries off, gets dressed, and trudges into the kitchen.
Maybe tonight could be a finally.
read the rest on ao3!

Baggage || Ficlet
hello @hammity-hammer helped me w trying to beat writers block by giving me an idea to write and even tho i didn’t stick w the original plan i’m very happy w how this turned out.
1.1k || G || TW: n/a || pre-steddie, platonic stancy
Steve wasn’t really sure when he realized he was in love with Eddie, but it happened somewhere between the boathouse and dragging his limp body out of the Upside Down. Steve hadn’t always known he liked boys, but ever since Robin had come out to him, he was starting to realize more and more that boys were sometimes just as attractive as girls were to him. If not more so.
He still refused to tell the metalhead how he felt, despite Robin’s best attempts to convince him that Eddie obviously felt the same way. Steve just couldn’t be sure, and he refused to let himself be broken again.
Instead, Steve carried it close to his chest, away from Eddie. He even kept his distance from the metalhead–well, he tried to, he found that Eddie often invaded his personal space, which he was more than okay with, but it made it difficult to push down the overwhelming feelings inside of him. Eddie would lean heavily into his space, then bounce away like nothing had happened, leaving Steve reeling as he watched the other man move on to other conversations.
Steve knew he wasn’t the best at hiding his emotions, which made it difficult to keep what he was feeling from Eddie, but Robin assured him that Eddie had no clue. How she knew, Steve didn’t want to know, but he was glad for it. It meant that days like today, where the weather was getting warm enough to lounge outside all day, and everyone was hanging out, Steve could sit and watch Eddie interact with everyone without anyone noticing.
Besides Robin, of course.
“Whatcha doin’?” A voice asked, right next to his ear. Steve flinched hard, turning to face Nancy, who was standing next to his chair with a sunhat on, holding two cans of coke in her hands. She offered him one, to which he accepted hesitantly.
“Sunbathing,” Steve responded, gesturing to his mostly exposed body. Nancy hummed, sitting in the pool chair next to him.
“Is that all?” She asked pointedly, lowering her sunglasses to look him in the eye, before tilting her head towards where Eddie and Jonathan were talking. Steve froze, staring at her wide eyed. He was glad for the sunglasses that he was wearing as well, but they did nothing to hide the flush that spread across his body.
“I don’t know what you’re implying,” Steve said, probably unconvincingly, leaning back into the pool chair in an act of nonchalance that he was struggling to maintain.
“I think you have a type,” Nancy teased, leaning back into her own pool chair. She obviously knew that Steve didn’t want any attention drawn to the conversation, to which he was glad. Honestly, Steve should have known that he wouldn’t be able to keep this from her, she was too observant for her own good.
“That’s what you’re here to tell me?” He asked, scoffing. “Tell me something I don’t know, Nance.”
“You don’t want to tell him because you’re scared he’s gonna hurt you. Like I did.” Nancy said, without hesitation, causing Steve to nearly choke on his saliva.
“What?” He asked, startled.
“I’m sorry, Steve,” Nancy said, not quite closing her eyes, wanting to keep an eye on the kids playing in the pool.
Steve swallowed thickly, letting his gaze wander back to where Eddie was standing and joking with Argyle and Jonathan. He was laughing at something that Argyle had said, which caused something akin to jealousy twist in his gut as he watched.
“I know that we didn’t really talk about it,” Nancy continued, unheeded by Steve’s lack of response, “but I am so sorry for the things I said.”
“Nance,” Steve started to interrupt, only to be silenced by Nancy talking over him again.
“Let me apologize, Steve. You need to hear it. I want to say it.” Steve blinked rapidly, but nodded. He wasn’t sure this was the place to have this conversation, but if Nancy insisted. “I was still mourning Barb. And it was like you were able to pretend it didn’t happen, or like you had moved on completely, and I was just stuck. I know now that it was your way of coping, but back then it was like you didn’t care about what happened.”
“I’m sorry,” Steve started, but Nancy put a hand up to silence him again.
“No, you were doing what you had to do to cope, I can’t fault you for that. I’m sorry that I called our relationship bullshit. That I called you bullshit.” Nancy paused, tilting her head to look at him. The sunhat was flopped over her sunglasses, which hid her eyes for the most part, but Steve could see the hint of tears appearing. “You didn’t deserve that. You’re one of the most genuine and kind people I know, and you didn’t deserve what I did to you. I’m sorry.”
“Oh, Nance,” Steve breathed, feeling his heart beating out of his chest. “I forgave you a long time ago.”
“But you’re still hurting from what I called our relationship. You deserve to let yourself be happy, and move on. Tell him.”
Steve let himself sit on those words, making eye contact with Robin who was stuck in a conversation with Murray of all people–Steve wasn’t sure who invited him, but he seemed to just appear at their get togethers more than he didn’t–she gestured slightly with her head, looking between him and Nancy with a question. Steve smiled and shook his head slightly, before turning his attention back to Nancy.
“You’re right,” Steve said quietly, still unsure that this conversation should be happening here, but continued nonetheless, “you basically tore my heart out and then less than a week later were walking around with Jonathan. I know you didn’t intend for it to be the way it was, which is why I never really was upset with you, but I was still…yeah. In a bad spot.” Nancy grimaced slightly, but still reached out and grabbed his hand to add a little comfort. “I’m better now,” Steve assured, squeezing her hand.
“I’m still sorry,” Nancy said quietly. “You deserved–do deserve better.”
“Thank you,” he whispered, his gaze finding its way back to Eddie, surprised to find the man looking back at him with something that looked close to jealousy.
“You should tell him,” Nancy said, squeezing his hand again before pulling back. Steve smiled at her softly before standing. This conversation didn’t magically completely heal the hurt part of him, but it soothed an ache that he had grown accustomed to carrying.
And he would always carry it, in some way.
But maybe he didn’t have to carry it alone.
Steve walked towards Eddie.

The Roger to her Jessica.
Hey, Jadey! So heres my Eddie Munson x Female!Reader one shot request for you! Reader is the new girl at Hawkins High & shes super hot, like Victoria's Secret Super Model hot! Naturally all of the popular guys (aka Steve, Billy, & Jason) at Hawkins are trying to get her to go out with them, but she's very much not interested in them.
Because none of them are her Type... Until she sees Eddie 'The Freak' Munson; turns out she into the 'Rockstar' thing...
Also, because Munson looks like a younger Eddie Van Halen, she's instantly zeroing in on him. Basically Reader is Jessica Rabbit & Eddie Munson is her Roger Rabbit!
Requested by @m00nlight101
Warnings; slightly suggestive, fluff, the reader is smitten with Eddie and vice versa.
Tumblr media
The guys in Hawkins were all the same. Being the new girl in a small town she was immediately the star attraction.
They took one look at her and suddenly she was the most sought out girl in town.
Even before school started officially she was approached by guys.
Billy Hargrove was the first to ask her on a date but she had heard enough shit about him to immediately shut him down.
He was hot but she wasn't getting involved with him, he had graduated Hawkins High and worked as a lifeguard in the community pool, he was also a hit with her mother's friends, clearly loving the older women and according to his sister Max a violent bully.
She was definitely steering clear of that one.
Steve Harrington was the next one to approach her and try to get a date. Now he was very handsome but still not her type.
Plus she was sure he was still making eyes at the girl Nancy Wheeler so she didn't want to get involved in that.
They met at Family Video when she was picking some movies for her Saturday movie night, Nancy was there too and while he was making eyes at y/n he was also pining after Nancy.
So he was a pass too.
Then finally when school started Jason Carver set his sights on her before she even sat down for her first class.
The guy was arrogant, cocky and a douche, he loved himself a little too much and those cringy inspirational speeches he did made her want to vomit.
The kicker though was that he already had a girlfriend. What a sleazeball. She wasn't stealing some girl's man.
"You know I'm the most popular guy in school right?". He leans into her and she raises an eyebrow moving away from him invading her personal space.
"Yeah, that's cool and all but I really don't give a shit about popularity. Also, you're not my type and I know you have a girlfriend so you hitting on me is gross".
He looked furious but she ignores him and carries on with her work wondering if she would meet anyone who was her type.
Jason pipes up again.
"You seriously expect me to believe you care I have a girlfriend?". Anger burns in her gut. She's fed up with men assuming things about her because she looks a certain way.
"Yes, I do very much care. Congratulations you're officially the worst guy I've met here".
Jason looks affronted and she turns away from him still pissed.
Tumblr media
At lunch, she walks into the cafeteria and Chrissy and a few other cheerleaders call her over to sit.
She scans the crowd at lunch and her heart flutters as she spots the most gorgeous guy she's ever seen.
The curly brown hair, the leather jacket and the denim vest combo? She's smitten. He looks like Eddie Van Halen. There are major similarities.
Now this guy? This guy was her type.
What's Hellfire about she wonders as she stares at his t-shirt. The other boys sitting with him are wearing it too.
Stacy one of the cheerleaders she's sitting with snorts as she follows her gaze.
"That's the freak's table, they play this game called Dungeons and dragons or some shit. Eddie Munson the leader, the one sitting at the head of the table is the biggest freak of all, stay well clear".
Bitch. She thinks in her head and turns back to him. Noticing the guitar picks and chains too she sighs.
Oh yeah, Eddie Munson, you are fucking hot, ignoring Stacey's laughter she gets up and walks over to him. The group of guys he's with gawk at her as she approaches the table.
"Hi, I'm y/n and you Eddie Munson are exactly the type of man I've been looking for". He quirks an eyebrow and smirks.
"Yeah? Why's that princess? Move". He orders one of the guys next to him and he pulls out the empty seat for her.
"Such a gentleman". She coos and smiles at seeing him up close. His eyes are beautiful, big and a gorgeous shade of brown and those dimples when he smiled? Swoon. Surely he was aware of how hot he was?
"Well, I have all these boys wanting to date me and they are cute yes but not my type, you, however, are the sexiest man I've ever seen darling and I very much want you all to myself". She bats her eyes at him and his widen.
"Jesus H Christ, I'm dreaming right?". He whispers to the others and they gawk at her.
She's distracted by the tattoos on his arm, the visible one peeking out of his Hellfire top and waves of desire crash over her.
Lord help her this man was perfect.
"Are you free tonight handsome?". He shakes his head looking disappointed.
"I have practice with my band tonight but you're welcome to come, princess?".
Perfect.
"I'd love to, she murmurs, you play the guitar I presume?". He nods and she's delighted.
"Will you teach me how to play Eddie? I'd just love to see how talented those fingers are". Lust flickers in his eyes and she just realised how it could be taken and feels flustered.
"I'd love to show you just how talented I am sweetheart". The bell rings and she huffs disappointed and stands up.
She leans down and kisses his cheek, resting her hand on his shoulder. Her Scarlett red lipstick leaves an imprint of her lips on his cheek.
"Until later". She winks at him and is well aware of how his eyes trail down her body as she gets up.
Loving his attention she walks out of the cafeteria slowly making sure he savours every inch of her.
When she looks back at him his eyes are burning with need.
Don't worry darling she thinks and blows him a kiss. I'll drive you wild later...

Steve has a crush on Eddie. He knows this.
Feels it every time the older boy invades his personal space or laughs or twirls a curl on his finger or when he goes on passionate tangents about anything…
But he cannot get a read on Eddie. Can’t determine if he has feelings for him or if Eddie is just naturally a flirt. Because Eddie does flirt. Makes naughty comments and touches Steve endlessly. But he also does the same thing with Robin and Argyle and Gareth and Jonathan…
There are too many mixed signals…and so Steve tells himself to ease up on the crush. To just be friends…
But it’s like Steve can’t stop his crush from growing. Everything Eddie does makes the crush dig itself deeper into Steve. But it’s just a crush. So…
But one day while they are hanging out in Eddie’s room something happens.
Eddie smirks at him and says, “I had a dream about you last night.”
And the butterflies which woke in Steve’s stomach at Eddie’s smirk do somersaults at the idea of Eddie dreaming of him. “Oh really? What was it about?”
And Steve is looking up at Eddie through his lashes, runs a hand through the front of his hair, and gives him an absolutely *royal* smile.
Eddie blinks. He twirls a strand of hair around his index finger and Steve thinks his blood is going to boil from anticipation, because this is it, his dumbass is finally going to admit he has feelings for him.
Nothing could prepare Steve for what Eddie says next.
He drops his hair and readjusts himself on the bed to turn and fully look at Steve, he gestures with his hands and says, “So it was like I knew something crazy was going on in my dream world, but I wasn’t really privy to it. But I found you in this like sewer. And -” he pauses leans in real close to Steve, “it was insane, Dustin was growing from your stomach. AND you had a robotic eye.”
Steve stares at the goofy grin and the excited eyes looking back at him, “Is that all that happened?”
Eddie shrugs, “More or less, sometimes I have a hard time remembering dreams. It’s like I’ll know I had a dream some mornings but can’t remember shit. Or I remember only the strange details. Or it can be like I just watched a life changing movie and it will haunt me the rest of my life and alter everything I do. But those kinds of dreams are very rare.”
“Huh.” Steve smiles.
Eddie goes into a tangent then about his dreams. Telling Steve about some of his movie like dreams…
Later that night he recounts the dream to Robin. He sighs and puts his face in his hands, “And all it really did was make me realize that I…I love him...”
Robin is silent for so long that Steve forces himself to pull his face out of his hands and stare at her.
She has a perplexed expression on her face as if she is trying to translate something from Russian.
She shakes her head and then says flatly, “Unless you were like birthing Dustin, there is no way that he would be the one conjoined with you. That would be me. Your twin flame. Your other half. Doesn’t that dingus know anything?”
“I just told you I am in love with Eddie Munson, and you are more concerned about why you are not the one growing from my stomach in his dream?” Steve asks.
“Well yeah. I already know you love him.” She tilts her head, her expression soft. Then she straightens up, “You didn’t know?!”
“NO!” Steve gestures wildly, “I thought it was just like a crush.”
“Oh babe…” Robin gasps through her laughter, “You realized you were…in love with him…because he told you he had a dream…where Dustin was growing…from your stomach…”
“Yes…I did…”

Chrissy was used to nightmares. She had them just as much as the next girl. Well… maybe more often considering how it was a weekly problem. But her nightmares had always been predictable. Her mom screaming at her and calling her ugly in front of the whole school, everyone somehow finding out she that she might, maybe, (definitely), was gay, or the classic of going to class naked on accident. Though the last one usually had the little spin of Jason vomiting at the sight of her nude. A fact that she actually missed, considering how lately Robin had replaced him in her subconscious as the disgusted party.
The point was, they were normal and often. But they were never like this. Because for the past few days she had been plagued with horrifying dreams, like nothing she’d ever experienced before. There was this thing that kept following her in them, calling to her, chasing her. It knew things about her that no one else did, which should have made sense. It was her own mind after all. But… something felt wrong. It wasn’t like she was digging up her own personal demons, it felt like her brain was being invaded by pure malice, like something desperately wanted her dead.
It made no sense. The thing had a voice, one that she didn’t recognize despite how surreally present it felt. Almost… like she could hear it even when she wasn’t sleeping. A symptom of her lack of sleep she was sure, that had her way too freaked out. She was definitely being over dramatic about the whole thing. They were just dreams, they would pass eventually. So she kept them to herself, deciding that there was no reason in worrying anyone over her stupid brain. She would fly under the radar until the weirdness passed and then everything would be back to normal again. The only problem was that certain people were making it very hard to fly under the radar.
That was one issue about keeping her newer friends, they cared way too much. Eddie kept shooting her worried looks, Nancy was being extra attentive to her in their shared classes, and Steve had already sent her home with three different kinds of baked goods in the past five days. They knew something was wrong, but at least they bought her excuse. She blamed all their worries on her mom. All of the pressure she was putting on her for the big game. Which might as well have been true. She probably was the root cause to all of her nightmares anyway.
Everyone took it at face value. Everyone but Robin. Because of course, it would be Robin. Robin knew there was something more going on, if her constant hovering was anything to go by. She was extra attentive lately, doing the silliest little things. Like calling her thirty minutes after seeing each other, just to check in. Or carrying her books down the hallway for her with the prettiest smile, always saying something about how it was a band nerd’s duty to take care of the head cheerleader. It was so stupid and Chrissy always tried to half heartedly fight her on it, even though she always lost. And Chrissy… hated how much she loved that.
It didn’t help that Jason was starting to get weird about the whole thing. Always making joking reminders that he was her boyfriend. Not that Chrissy cared. She wished she did, but… she really had to break up with him soon. It would make the Robin fantasies easier to handle. Then at least she’d only have to feel guilty to one person. She just had to wait until the game was over, and then she’d do it. But for now she had bigger problems.
Because the dreams weren’t passing. If anything they were getting worse, she was getting worse. She was dead tired all the time, sleep or no sleep. It was bad enough that she just decided to stop trying by the third day. It wasn’t safe. Even a half hour nap was enough space for the nightmares to come crawling back. They were starting to mess with her, bad. Bad enough for it to get harder and harder to hide it. Bad enough for her to actually hallucinate.
Or at least, that’s what she thought was happening. There was no other explanation than her going insane from sleep deprivation. She just… hadn’t expected it to get so life like. And she knew no one else was seeing what she was. She couldn’t tell anyone, not unless she wanted to be put into a mental institution. Even Robin would think she was crazy for this.
Probably.
Maybe.
Or maybe not. Robin was far from the type to judge. She was tempted. But… no. Especially not after what happened in the bathroom.
One minute she was throwing up in the toilet and the next her mom was there. Calling her, taunting her. But it wasn’t her. She couldn’t make the walls shake. She couldn’t make Chrissy see that thing. She had ran the second things had calmed down. It was too real, way, way too real. It was getting harder to justify what was happening. How could it all be in her head?
But then again, how could it not be?
All Chrissy knew was that she needed sleep. Uninterrupted, demon less sleep. Then she would be fine. That was it. If she had to force it then fine. She couldn’t go on like this for another night. Chrissy wasn’t exactly a big fan of doing drugs, but she was still friends with a drug dealer. It seemed to be her best bet.
And Eddie had been nice about it when she went to see him. Of course he had. He was always so sweet to her, despite the fact that she didn’t deserve it. She didn’t even have the courage to admit that they were friends in public while he was fully ready to give her free ketamine. Ride included.
But despite the guilt, she still took him up on it. If it could tranquilize a horse, than it would definitely work for her. Then this nightmare would finally be over. The hope was enough to get her through the rest of the night, despite the fact that she was dancing on dead feet. But they won thank god, that meant that Jason would be too busy celebrating to pay her any attention. She slipped away with ease, too exhausted to notice any sharp eyes following her to Eddie’s van.
She just needed this to be over.
Eddie was the perfect gentlemen when they got inside the trailer. He even offered to put some music on, an obvious attempt to calm her down. Just one more sign that her perfect mask had long since slipped. She was too busy jumping at shadows to pretend otherwise. She stayed in the living room as he dug around for it, hugging herself as she waited.
The music was at least helping. Her grandma used to love Karen Carpenter. She closed her eyes, gently humming it to herself as she waited. Then, she felt an ice-cold draft, which was odd. She knew he had closed the door behind them. She opened her eyes, fully expected to see the Munson door hanging open.
But she wasn’t in the trailer. She was… home. Chrissy whipped around, nearly stumbling as she looked at her living room. How-what? She could barely even comprehend what was happening before the lights started to flicker, the stairs creaking.
“Chrissy.”
It was him. That horrible, horrible voice. But now it was closer than ever, coupled by heavy foot steps on straining woods. But this wasn’t right. She wasn’t asleep. It was like the damn bathroom all over again but worse. How did she get here? Where was Eddie? Where were her parents? Her brother?
“Chrissy.”
That sound felt invasive, like it was slicing right through her. Invisible fingers prodding in her brain, bizarre and painful. And it was only getting closer.
She had no idea what was happening, who he was or what he wanted.
She just knew she had to run.
She sprinted in a random direction, anywhere to get away from that voice. But things kept changing. Her windows weren’t her windows, all of them boarded up. There were no working doors, there was nothing. Only the sound of that thing slowly coming towards her. And… singing. A soft voice coming from a direction she couldn’t name.
It was almost like it was coming from everywhere, but it was so small in comparison to it. The thing that was rounding the corner, disgusting and vaguely human shaped. A thing made of pure malice, staring her down as she cried for help, banging on the boarded up windows. But no one was coming, no one could hear her.
She turned, just to find herself nearly face to face with it, a gnarled, burned monster.
She was going to die here. She didn’t know how she knew but the second it touched her she would be gone.
It was talking as it reached for her, words that Chrissy couldn’t hear, she was too terrified to retain any monologues. She was too busy having her life flash before her eyes, the sickening realization hitting that she was never going to see anyone she loved again.
Then… she heard it again. The singing. It was clearer now, louder despite the fact that her mind was so loud. But she knew she heard it, somewhere here. She had nowhere to go, she knew that. She had already tried and trying again would just lead to this again, delayed by mere moments.
But then she heard him, the sound of Eddie’s voice screaming, “Chrissy! Wake up! I don’t like this! What the fuck!”
It was enough to have her moving, her body acting before her mind could catch up. She ducked right out of his slow, methodic reach, diving between the creatures legs before bolting.
The entire house was different now, derelict and devoid of anything that used to make it hers. She was somewhere else again, but that didn’t stop her from running up the stairs, desperately trying to follow those voices.
She could hear it coming after her, more hurried than the slow walk from before. She didn’t look back, she just burst into the first door she could find, her heart in her throat as she looked around. She didn’t have to look far. There on the far wall was… her. She could see herself floating in the air, Eddie screaming below her. It didn’t make sense but she wasn’t going to question it.
Not when she felt the air go cold behind her, that voice growling, “Come back.”
She didn’t. She sprinted forward, running right into the image of herself. Then everything changed, within a split second. Suddenly she was falling, landing right on top of a still screaming Eddie.
She scrambled back, breathing heard as she frantically looked around. She was back, it was gone, but not for good. All she could do then was burst into tears.

New Years Eve
Pairing: Eddie Munson x Superstitious!Reader
Summary: It’s New Years Eve and Robins bringing her cousin to Steve’s party.
Word Count: 4406
Eddie Masterlist
Tumblr media
“Are you sure you don’t mind me bringing Y/n to the party?” Robin asks Steve for what feels like the millionth time to him.
“Yes Robin I’m sure. I’ve only told you I don’t care everyday for the past week.” He’s laughing while he speaks, tossing some more popcorn in his mouth.
“Who’s Y/n?” Nancy comes back in from making another bowl of popcorn, this one for her and Jonathan, and Eddie points her way to show he’s wondering the same thing.
“She’s my cousin, she’s a little bit older than Steve but she was homeschooled and was basically raised to be a shut-in or something so there’s no way you guys have ever met her. I’m shocked her mom’s even letting her out  for this but she asked if she’d be able to tag along with whatever New Years plans I had. So you’ll all meet her tomorrow night. Fair warning though, she’s a bit of a whackjob. It’s how she was raised though and if I hear any of you call her that we’ll fight.”
“Don’t worry, Robin whack jobs are my specialty.” Eddie points to himself with his thumb while leaning forward. “What kind of whack job are we talking here, ditzy, space invader, total weirdo?”
“She’s a little ditzy I guess. Mainly she’s just extremely superstitious.”
“That’s like witchy stuff right?” Steve speaks through a mouthful and barely pulls his attention away from the movie on the tv.
“No it’s like believing that black cats are evil and stuff like that.” Jonathan comes back from the bathroom just in time to correct Steve before Robin can hit him on the back of the head for being stupid. “My mom believes in a few superstitions like crossing your fingers and broken mirrors.”
“Why does believing a few superstitions make her a whack job Robs?”
“It’s not a few or a handful even Nance, she lives by them. Like she didn’t go to public school because she was an extremely clumsy child and her mom believes that tripping over something on your way somewhere means you have to turn back and go home and she didn’t trust that when she was younger she’d listen to it. So homeschool her whole life was somehow the answer.”
“Seems like a lonely childhood.”
“Yeah, she saw me a lot growing up but not much of anyone else.”
“What’s in the bags Y/n?” Robin asks as you get in the car she borrowed from her parents excited for your first party.
“Oh grapes and noisemakers. Mom and I went out to get them today in case there wouldn’t be any there. Where are we going again?”
“Right. Remember I told you about my friend Steve?” You nod. “He’s throwing a party for our group of friends and a few people that he only barely knows through like Eddie and Nancy.”
“Okay.” It’s quiet in the car after that and Robin glances your way to see you playing with the hem of your dress where it rests on your thighs.
“Are you okay? Do you wanna just go to my place and we’ll have our own party just me and you?” As much as Robin wants to spend the night with her friends her love for you outweighs it and she’d rather you be comfortable.
“No! I’m just a little nervous I guess. I mean this is my first party and what if your friends don’t like me or think I’m too weird? And what if I didn’t bring enough grapes for everyone?”
“They’ll love you! You’re literally the sweetest person I know, I mean who worries about bringing enough grapes for people they don’t even know? Besides, we're all a bunch of weirdos. Jonathan is a total loser in the best way, Eddie is so weird that the whole town thought he was a satanist, Steve’s just a complete idiot and like all of his friends are kids. The most normal one out of us is Nancy but even she’s a little odd. And the kids are like drawn to oddballs, not that they themselves aren’t odd but they feel right at home with others and I’m sure you will too. Besides you look cute the boys will-” Your laughter cuts her off and she looks at you. “What?”
“You’re rambling Robs. But thank you I do feel a little less nervous.”
You were still nervous though of course. The only person you’re going to know will be Robin and as excited as you are to meet her friends and hopefully make some friends of your own finally you can’t help but think about how you and your mom don’t even go to family gatherings anymore because of how often family members would try to get you to be ‘normal’ and not believe in her superstitions. Your dad's side of the family was the worst when it came to it and you used to get bullied by your cousins so you stopped going to those long before your mom’s. Thankfully Robin's mom and dad were more understanding because if you didn’t have Robin who knows what kind of a sad hermit you would be.
“I’m glad to help. Really though they’re gonna love you, don't stress about it. And I’ll be right there next to you most of the night.” Robin parks the car in front of Steve’s house and turns to you squeezing your knee in support. “Do you need help with those bags?”
“Could you just take the noisemaker bag? I’ve got the grapes.” She nods and takes the bag you hold out for her before getting out of the car. You’re quick to follow her holding the bags in one hand while the other smooths down your dress that got all bunched up in the car.
“Guess who’s here dingus!” Robin yells out as she bursts into the house ushering you in behind her.
“You’re late Robin, even Eddie beat you here.” Steve rounds the corner and pauses when he sports the two girls in the entranceway bags in hand. “What’s all this?”
“Steve, this is my cousin Y/n. Y/n, Steve.”
“Hi! I hope you don’t mind but I brought noisemakers and grapes.” You wave and hold the bags in your hands up. “I hope I brought enough for everyone to have twelve at midnight.”
“I’m sure you did. You can uh put them in the fridge or something, Eddie will help you figure it out he’s in the kitchen now. It’s just down that hallway to the left.”
“Okay.” You cast a glance towards Robin who nods reassuringly at you before leaving her side. There goes your plan to follow her like a shadow.
“Where do you want the noisemakers?” Steve’s response is low as you make your way down the hallway he pointed to and you don’t hear it. When you turn into the kitchen there’s just one guy in there with his back facing you dumping chips into bowls.
“Stupid Harrington putting me on goddamn snack duty.” Eddie mumbles to himself not sensing a presence behind him.
“Um, excuse me?” He jumps at your voice and whirls around. His eyes go wide as he takes in your form wrapped in a white dress with small light blue polka dots adorned on it. “You’re Eddie right? Steve said you’d help me.”
“That’s uh, that’s me.” He stumbles over his words as he fights with himself to make his eyes move to your face instead of where they’re fixated on how snug the top of your dress is. When his eyes meet your own your breath actually hitches at how pretty he is. “What do you need help with darlin'?”
“I brought grapes and Steve said to put them in here somewhere. Like the fridge or something like that.”
“Well then I guess I’m the man for the job. Harrington put me on snack duty even though it’s his house and his party. So who are you?”
“I’m Y/n. The grapes aren’t-” You take a few steps closer to where he’s searching the cabinets for another bowl.
“Robin's cousin right?” He perks up at recognizing your name and smiles when he sees a small one form on your own face.
“Yep.”
“And you’re superstitious right?” Oh boy, you think to yourself, this is where the teasing will start. “Is that what the grapes are for, or did you just really have a hankering for them?” His response is so unexpected that you can’t help but start laughing partially out of relief and the other part at how he said it. The way he looks at you like he’s genuinely interested keeps the smile on your face as you answer.
“You’re supposed to eat twelve grapes at midnight to bring luck into the new year. Each grape stands for a month.”
“Huh.” Eddie hums as he brings a bowl down. “That must be why I’m so unlucky all the time. I only eat grapes by the handful if I need a snack on my way out of the trailer. We should probably take them off the stems right?” He looks between the grapes now on the counter and you who’s now right next to him.
“We can, it’ll make it easier for everyone to grab some.”
“Then let’s get to work.” He moves the bowl in between the two of you and grabs one of the bundles from a bag. You both work in silence for barely two minutes before he’s talking again. Eddies never really been good with silence; it's why he’s talking all the time or always listening to music. “Is it rude to ask why you believe it or if there’s any truth behind it?”
“Oh, I don’t think so. I was just sorta raised with it. My mom says that she used to peel and mash them up before feeding them to me as a baby. As for the truth behind it, I'm not sure if there actually is but once when I was younger my dad miscounted his and only ate eleven, his dad then died later in the year.”
“Shit really?”
“Ya, but he was pretty old and sick anyway.” You shrug. “He didn’t like blame himself or anything because of that. And between you and me my dad never really believed the stuff the way my mom did. He just did it all because it meant so much to her. But that really solidified it for me.”
“Are there any other new years things I should be following?” Your eyes narrow at him not able to tell if he’s genuine or not in his curiosity.
“Are you messing with me?” He gasps as if it’s the most outrageous thing and his hand flies to his chest.
“You wound me, do I really seem so awful that I’d do that?” He then drops the act of being hurt to assure you even more. “This stuff is just genuinely interesting to me.”
“So you actually want to know about other new years superstitions?” The hope in your voice nearly breaks Eddie’s heart because he can just tell it means people have gotten your hope up in the past.
“Really I’d like to know about more than just those specific ones but ya. Wanna just start with the new years ones since that’s what today is?”
“Okay!” You bounce slightly as you start ripping grapes from the stems and Eddie finds it absolutely adorable. “Well there’s the twelve grapes one, um then there’s one about making noise at midnight to scare evil spirits away. I brought noisemakers for that too. That’s actually probably why people set off fireworks and stuff each year.” Eddie nods to show he’s listening and continuously looks over at you as he fills the bowl up. “My outfit is actually all superstition based.”
“Oh yeah?” His eyes rake over the dress again hoping you don’t catch him in the act.
“Mmhm, the white is for good luck, the polka dots are to bring wealth, abundance, and success, and red underwear is to bring luck and help you find your soulmate.” Eddie chokes on his spit at your last comment.
“You still good in here Y/n?” Robin comes into the kitchen and pulls your worried look away from a still coughing Eddie to her.
“Yeah I was just helping Eddie with the grapes.”
“How about we leave Eds here to do it and I’ll introduce you to everyone else?” You look back at Eddie and he clears his throat, nodding.
“Go meet the crew, I'll be out of here and joining the party in no time.” You basically skip over to Robin in your excitement to meet everyone else after seeing how nice Eddie, the supposed satanist, is.
Steve comes into the kitchen soon after the two of you leave and crouches to dig through his lower cabinet.
“Did you come to take me off snack duty?”
“Nope, Dustin’s demanding I find something to put the cookies his mom made on other than the tupperware he brought them in. So I need to find one of my mom's nice pie plates or something. Did you meet Y/n? She’s cute huh?” His voice is muffled as he shoves his head and shoulders inside to find the one he’s looking for.
“Yeah, she’s sweet. Told me the color of her underwear.”
“What?!” Steve bangs his head against the top as he tries to rush out and look at his friend in bewilderment. “Eddie, even I know not to ask someone what color their panties are.”
“I didn’t ask!” His hands go up in defense before quickly going back to dealing with the grapes so he can finally join the party. “I just asked about other new years superstitions and it came out of her like it was the most normal thing to talk about with a stranger.”
“Huh, I guess Robin did say she was sorta odd. So what’s the thing with the grapes, did you ask?” Steve also lets out a little ‘aha’ once he finds the plate he was looking for and stands after he speaks.
“We’re supposed to eat twelve at midnight for luck next year. Each one is a month.”
“I don’t know what I was expecting but it wasn’t that.” Steve rubs the back of his head grimacing as he does so. “It’s nice of her to think of everyone to bring enough.” He starts helping taking over the bundle that you left behind.
“Yeah, it seems like sharing this stuff with others makes her happy.” Eddie smiles as he thinks about how you lit up like how the sky will be tonight as you told him about the different superstitions you believed in.
You’ve been talking with Jonathan about the superstitions his mom believes in for the past fifteen minutes. You could barely contain your excitement when he told you his mom believed in some so he knew about a few of them. You had immediately started asking questions about it while Robin chatted with Nancy. She was nice and Robin was right she did seem like the most normal one, though you haven’t really met the kids yet you were brought over to Nancy and Jonathan first.
“Who wants snacks?” Eddie sings out as he makes his way into the big living room. One of the kids goes straight to him and takes a bowl of pretzels right out of his arms before rejoining the group on the couches. Eddie rolls his eyes before moving to put the rest of the bowls on the fold out table set up in the corner opposite where you’re all standing before crossing the room to join the group. “What’s going on over here?”
“Letting Y/n get to know these two before moving onto the nightmare that is the kids.”
“I’m sure they’re not that bad.”
“They’re annoying little shits.” Eddie chuckles into his can of beer as he speaks. “Dustin’s the worst of them!” He says it loud enough for his friend to hear him and is awarded with a pretzel flying at his head.
“Henderson, what have I said about throwing food in my house?” Steve comes in just in time to see the pretzel land on the floor. He holds his hand out to you once he joins the group. “We didn’t get to meet properly before, I’m Steve and Robin has told me a lot about you.”
“Y/n, Robin’s told me a lot about you too.” You take his hand and he covers yours with his other one as he shakes it.
“All good things I hope.” You nod with a polite smile. “Is your band coming Eddie?”
“Nah, they decided to go to Gareth’s place like we normally would. I was over there for a bit before coming here.”
“You’re in a band?” There’s a sort of awe in your voice that has Eddie bristling with pride even though you’ve never heard of them before. He feels like as long as you keep looking at him like that he doesn’t need to be a rockstar.
“Yeah Corroded Coffin, we play at the Hideout once a week.”
“That’s so cool! I’ve always wanted to see live music but I never know where I should go and I don’t really have anyone to go to concerts with.” You’re a little embarrassed mentioning just how little people you know but you remind yourself that that’s why Robin’s helping you branch out.
“Well maybe you could come watch us at some point.”
“That would be great!”
Robin watches the two of you interact with a smile on her face. You’d think she’d be upset with Eddie taking such a liking to you already but she’s just happy that you look right at home with the metal head. She knew that her friends would be accepting of you in a way that she knows you’ve never really had before. She didn’t realize how quickly you would bond with Jonathan or get Eddie basically wrapped around your finger so soon after meeting him though. She should’ve, you’re a sweetheart and have such a warmness about you that she’s always shocked when you tell her about how some people treat you.
“Eddie’s getting pretty cozy with your cousin there Robs.”
“Yeah.” She answers Nancy with a smile on her face turning her attention back to her group of friends.
“Why are you so happy about it?”
“I think they’re gonna be good for eachother, whether that be them just being friends or it leading to more. I mean Eddie’s still dealing with the chaos of people still not quite believing he’s innocent for killing Chrissy and Y/n deals with being labeled as a loon basically on the daily since most of the town knows her mom or at least who she is. I think they’ll be able to relate to one another on a level none of us really will.”
“Huh, when’d you become deep?” She rolls her eyes at Steve’s words.
“I just know who they are. Are your newspaper friends coming Nance?”
“Yeah, they should be here around nine.”
“Argyle will probably be here closer to ten. Thanks again Steve for letting me invite him.” Argyle had moved to Indiana right after graduating and he and Jonathan got an apartment together soon after.
“Yeah no problem, just make sure he doesn’t smoke in the house. I don’t want the living room to reek of weed again.”
“Do you have any new year's resolutions?” You and Eddie sit in the corner of the dining room while the others who are there and have shown up play drinking games or talk to each other. The kids are still taking up the couches in the living room but now they’re watching Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin’ Eve to entertain themselves while everyone else drinks around them.
“I want to make some friends because I can’t just depend on Robin to be there for me all the time. Not that she wouldn’t be, I just don’t want to put all of that on her. Besides, I’m gonna be twenty one next year. I should have more than just one friend who’s my cousin.” You take another sip of the mixed drink you’ve been nursing for the last twenty minutes and Eddie smiles at how you sort of ramble the same way Robin will sometimes. “Do you have any resolutions?”
“I didn’t really, but now I think it’s become your new best friend. Before you know it I’ll be taking Robin’s place.”
“I’d like that.” You beam at him. “But you should know that no one can take her place.”
“Hate to be the bearer of bad news but I need to steal her away for a bit.” Robin comes up next to you and pulls you out of your seat.
“Why?”
“Because you’ve been hogging her all night Eddie and I’d like to introduce her to the kids before the new year rings in.”
“Wait, what time is it?”
“Eleven thirty eight.”
“We have to start explaining the grapes and bring them out then.”
“I’ll do that darlin’ you go meet the menaces in the living room. I’ll meet up with you in a bit.” You nod at Eddie extremely thankful and a little shocked that he’d do that for you before letting Robin pull you into the next room.
By the time Eddie joins you in the living room bowl of grapes halfway gone in hand there’s five minutes till midnight. He had enlisted Nancy’s and Steve’s help with putting grapes into smaller bowls twelve in each to hand out to people as they explain what it’s for.  He didn’t bother separating the rest once everyone other than the kids, you and Robin had some. He figured you could explain it to the group and he trusted them enough to grab the right amount.
“My mom believes in the breaking a mirror and opening an umbrella inside ones. So I tend to follow them too.” Eddie sits next to you on the couch to catch the middle of a conversation between you and Will.
“So you’re Jonathan's brother right? We were talking a little bit about what superstitions he knew earlier.” Will nods and before anyone can say anything else Eddie chimes in.
“Speaking of superstitions, have you explained the grapes to them yet?”
“Not yet, I find it easier to do with the grapes.”
“Alright.” He nods but keeps speaking before you can explain it yourself, his attention going to the eyes looking his way. “You’re gonna eat twelve grapes at midnight to bring you good luck each month of next year. I’m not missing anything am I?” You’re in awe at how he remembered after you mentioned it once hours ago so all you can do is shake your head no, your lips parted slightly. Normally people would choose to forget about it because they didn’t find it important or they thought it was just some silly thing you did.
“Now all of you just take twelve.” He hands the bowl to Max to start the passing around.
“Did you bring the grapes yourself or did Steve happen to have them in the fridge?” Dustin asks while taking the bowl from Lucas and counting out his grapes.
“I brought them, I really hope there’s enough for everyone though.” You go to look around the room at all the others to see if they got any but get distracted when Eddie places his warm hand on your bare knee.
“Don’t worry we handed everyone else some before I came over here. There should even be some left over after everyone has twelve.”
Everyone starts to trickle into the living room as it gets closer to midnight for the count down. With each pass of the bowl more and more enter the space and by the time it’s your turn to grab the grapes everyone is there. Eddie takes his grapes just as the countdown and ball drop starts on the screen.
“Will you be my New Year's eve kiss?” You rush out between fifty nine and fifty eight.
“What?” Eddie asks in response, confused at fifty seven.
“It’s a superstition I forgot to mention before, a kiss at midnight wards off a year of loneliness and I’ve never had one before. And I’m just so sick of having years of loneliness.” You explain it as simply as you can between fifty six and forty three.
“So do we eat the grapes before or after the kiss then?” Eddie tries to get it right before giving you an answer between forty two and thirty eight.
“Mom and dad always did it after the kiss but I’ve always just had the grapes so I’m not sure about the right way to do it. I’m pretty sure the two superstitions aren’t normally combined though.” You answer and think back on all the previous years you had watched your mom and dad do it between thirty seven and twenty six.
“Oh, okay.” It takes him a second to answer as he ponders it between twenty five and twenty. “I’ve never had the grapes and I don’t normally have a kiss so I can’t be of any help with this.” He continues on between nineteen and twelve.
“Eddie!” You get his attention back to you at eleven just before people around you start to chant down from ten. “Can I kiss you?” You ask again between ten and seven.
“Yeah, yeah of course.” He finally answers between six and four. You let out a relieved sigh at three and beam up at him at two. As everyone screams happy new year you’re connecting your lips to his own in quite possibly the sweetest kiss he’s ever had. It doesn’t last long before you’re pulling away to start popping grapes in your mouth. He follows your lead and makes sure you have a noisemaker in your hand once the grapes are gone because he remembered what you told him about evil spirits earlier.
You and Robin leave shortly after that since you wanted to be with your mom for a little bit to celebrate too but you make sure to give Eddie your number with a wink telling him to give you a call if he wanted to know more about your other superstitions.

Steddie Twister AU
Part 1 | Part 2 | Part 3 | Part 4 — Bombogenesis
Interlude: Eddie.
Eddie Munson grows up in the Midwest, on the edge of so-called Tornado Alley. After a twister destroys his family home, he’s sent to live with his uncle in Indiana. It spurs a hyperfocused interest in the unpredictable monstrosities, these unknowable disasters.
He zips through undergrad; he might have hated high school, but he’s smart. Math and science and geography make sense to him. Hell, he uses some of that shit in DnD on occasion, to make it more terrifying in its realism.
Grad school sees his intensity turn to the specifics of what occurs within the funnel itself. He wonders and wonders about how to observe it, how to get the data. Someone else can parse it out, he doesn’t care, but he wants to figure out step 1. He wants to know the core.
Dustin is the one who introduces him to Nancy Wheeler. She’s working on her PhD already, and her single-mindedness rivals and maybe surpasses his own. They start theorizing together, working on models and research with some of the others.
But when Eddie starts putting his thesis together, starts building the thing he’s named Sweetheart, everything goes to shit. Because Jason Carver accuses him of plagiarism and academic theft.
Carver’s a dickhead, but the professors love him, and he has a loyal group of cronies at his beck and call. He makes it clear that he wants Eddie’s head on a platter and he’s happy to skip the normal disciplinary hearings to get it.
Eddie knows his shit will stand up in front of the department heads. He’s got Nancy and Dustin and the others who’ve been helping him gather his work. It’s probably why Jason loses his mind and resorts to physical violence.
So he runs. Fuck Carver and fuck his buddies and fuck the department for doing nothing to protect him. Eddie flees, terrified of the possibilities. It’s only chance that changes his life trajectory by blowing Steve Harrington into his path.
A day after Carver starts his witch hunt, Eddie hunkers down and tries to figure out a plan. The cops won’t listen, the fucking useless bastards, and he knows people are looking for him. So when Harrington surprises him, he responds on instinct.
And then he’s staring into hazel eyes only inches from his own, breathing in a light cologne, one hand fisted in a polo shirt and one on a bottle. He watches Harrington’s lips part, pink and perfect, and comes back to himself, realizes Dustin and Max and Robin are shouting at him.
Jesus Christ, he thinks, stumbling back. He’s never been that close to Harrington before. The man’s pretty—he’d have to be blind not to have noticed—but fuck. He had no idea just how pretty.
In the weeks that follow, he learns more. He sees how Steve stands up for him; he trusts Steve to protect him from Carver; he lets Steve help to prove his research belongs solely to him. And he starts to fall in love.
It’s fast and sudden and intense. One day, he only vaguely remembers Harrington exists; the next, he’s invading his personal space, analyzing the way Steve looks back at him, and admiring his quiet strength and protectiveness.
He never had a chance. No early warnings. No time to escape. Just a sudden drop, a shift in pressure, and an explosion of feelings.
And then there’s Steve.

The get together of Harringroveson is terribly entertaining to think about. Steve, with his fear of abandonment, trying to navigate a queer, polyam relationship that doesn't follow any of the 'scripts' he's used to-- he's very out of his comfort zone. Which isn't bad per se, sometimes it can be exhaleriating. Other times is definitely terrifying, though.
Billy... Where do I even start with Billy. Poor guy would have to work through SO many issues regarding jealousy (because god forbid he gets to have one good thing just for himself) and self worth (because why do the other two like him? He's more trouble than he's worth. He hasn't done anything to deserve the other two, that's for sure).
Tumblr media
And then there's Eddie. Who's the most obviously, visibly neurodivergent between the three of them, but also somehow the most well adjusted when it comes to personal relationships (I'm guessing thanks to Wayne. We love you, Wayne).
Eddie, who let's Steve follow his 'scripts' with him (and idek, treat him to a fancy home made dinner in his parents' house) because he has never been romanced in this way, but also because Steve looks so much more confident in those situations, full famous Harrington charm on.
Tumblr media
Eddie, who invades Billy's personal space with very little warning the moment he notices Billy looking a bit sad and is so very casually nice to him in those moments in a way that would melt Billy without making him feel overwhelmed (think less I love yous and more I'm glad you're heres).
Tumblr media
Eddie, who is the only one who can properly articulate his insecurities from the start (and tell them that even if he messes up the times for a date, that's not a sign that he cares any less about them, please do not think that; it's just that he's messy as hell and has in general lots of trouble with organization, by example calculating how much time he's gonna need to do shit, like prepare for a date).
Anyway, this ot3 ❤️

KING STEVE :')) with the fluffy brown floppy ears.. :(
that's exactly what i mean!!! steve's got pretty privilege and he can set boundaries without people calling the police but if eddie dares look at someone in public without smiling he's aggressive and needs to be trained better :( steve looooves holding you, he feels like everyone's always gawking at him so when he gets to relax and get all snuggly he likes being the one in charge of touching - of course he'll lean into a good ear scratch like nobody's business, but when he's not being poked and prodded at he values setting his own boundaries so much :') and eddie !!! sweet sweet sappy baby eddie <3 he's so tired of everyone thinking he's a big bully, he just wants to be safe and loved :') he's used to being glared at, or smelling that sour stench of fear on anyone around him, so when you and steve coddle him and squish his cheeks they go all rosy and you two team up to see who can give him the most kisses!!! you swear his tail almost flies off from how fast it's wagging :') he definitely falls asleep face-planted in the pillows between you two, and wakes you up by smashing his head into your neck <33

part one // part two // part three // part four
Tumblr media
the early hours of november 15th, 1985.
it was well past midnight now, the crowd of the party was almost absent. a few kids stood around in their cliques wondering where they would be crashing tonight. definitely not as steve’s place, he had enough on his hands with eddie and robin already staying over. he didn’t wanna wake up to strangers in his house when he woke up with a hangover. the small talk robin had started to form into a huge conversation between the three of you. losing track of time was easy around eddie, steve, and robin. you wondered if they had other friends, or if it was just the three of them all the time. you liked them and their friendly bubble. they seemed really close. steve continued the conversation,
“yeah, eddie was telling us about you. he was upset about the situation earlier, but the guy has tough skin. nothing really bothers him. it’s hard to piss him off.” steve boasted.
robin nodded in agreement. eddie was tough, but he wasn’t mean, not to people who didn’t deserve it, and he hardly snapped. earlier today at school he was bitter but he had reason to be. you were wrapped up with the jocks, preps, and student council. you had quickly become everyone's favorite student. so many people wanted to get to know you and you had only been back home for a week. except eddie, he didn’t want anything from you or your social status. he only wanted to help the pretty girl struggling with her locker at the end of the hall. your mind continued to wander while steve and robin talked with each other. their conversation slowly faded away into white noise. lost in thought, you thought about how eddie had approached you giving you a helping hand, and realized how much it met to you for him pulling your boyfriend away from you when you couldn’t stand the pda you were being subjected to. he did that out of the kindness of his heart, and you had been really harsh. and after all of that, he still had the courage to apologize to you. your cheeks warmed. you thought back to how gentle he was with you outside in the backyard. he let you invade his personal space, but most importantly he was himself. you hoped that the conversation you both just shared helped with mending a bridge between you both, even if he had forgotten it in the morning.
you hoped he wouldn’t.
it was reassuring to hear from robin and steve that the eddie you had spoken to moments ago wasn’t putting on a facade to you. you couldn’t help but wonder if he was always flirting with people, and before you could stop the words from escaping your throat you spoke,
“is he always a flirt?” you asked.
“who? eddie?” robin giggled.
“i mean.. sure, but depends who he’s speaking with. if he’s really laying it on heavy he either wants something, or he’s got it bad…” steve said while sipping his drink.
robin gave steve a knowing glance.
“he almost kissed me you know..” you confessed.
steve looked at you with wide eyes. you frowned.
steve spoke to cheer you up, “oh c’mon, can’t blame the guy when you’re dating that asshole jock, he’s treading on thin ice.” steve assured it wasn’t your fault.
robin nodded.
you took steve’s words to heart. you questioned if it would’ve gone different if you weren’t dating anyone. you didn’t seem like eddie’s type but in some sick, and twisted way he was yours. he was all you could think about. a twang of rejection hit your chest. the insecurity of steve’s statement earlier of eddie just wanting something burned. was eddie just really drunk? he could’ve just been blinded with lust. maybe you were just blinded by lust.
“i think i really like him.” you whispered.
then the three of you heard yelling coming from upstairs.
the whole house got quiet. steve’s heart dropped. there was a loud thud that shook the walls upstairs. then a muffled yell. steve’s body tensed, he felt almost frozen. there was another jumble of swear words you three could almost hear. steve turned his body, it was eddie that yelled. he knew that voice. he jumped up from his relaxed position he once held. you and robin jumped from his sudden movement. steve was fast to come to the rescue. the sound of eddie screaming at the top of his lungs made him sober up pretty quick. steve knew eddie never held that tone with anyone. this had to be bad. his brain thought to all the bad scenarios he could walk in on while he was sprinting up the stairs. he thought eddie might’ve been getting jumped. he yelled back at you and robin when he was at the top of his stairs,
“stay downstairs!” he demanded.
steve cocked his head down the halls. the door to the same room eddie often stayed in was wide open. he rushed to the end of the hall. steve watched as a girl in a large shirt and pajama pants left the room with a terrified expression. steve let her pass and asked if she was okay before he rushed into the room to figure out what was going on. eddie was on top of some guy laying on the ground. his friend must’ve already got a few good hits on him because he wasn’t really moving or putting up much of a fight. steve watched him get up off of him, but eddie’s verbal punishment continued as he shout down at him,
“are you fucking serious! you greedy son of a bitch!” eddie spat. “you’re so selfish! you have the prettiest girl here! and you waste your chance with her on another bimbo?!” he cried.
“eddie! eddie! hey man!” steve tried calming him down, he pulled him back.
he pushed steve off of him. “no, steve, you don’t get it. i like her. we talked. she’s perfect, and this fucker thinks he can just walk all over her? i'm going to find her and i’m telling her what he did.”
“eddie! you can’t ed’s. look at you! you’d scare the girl!”
eddie’s words rang in steve’s ears. he wanted to tell eddie she liked him back, but he couldn’t. not yet. her boyfriend sat in the middle of the floor and he wasn’t going to share your confession in front of the two boys. steve didn’t see the benefit in him spilling the truth. he held his tongue and tried keeping a poker face.
eddie looked at his hands. eddie’s fingers dripped blood. it wasn’t much but it was noticeable. his knuckles were red and his demeanor was evil. steve needed to calm him down. his eyes started to water, he was so pissed off he could cry, but he never cried in front of anyone. only steve on a few occasions but he wouldn’t let this get to him. he told you he wasn’t going to help you again. he looked at steve with sad eyes. steve and eddie wanted to tell you so bad, but steve was right, eddie was in no shape to face you right now.
“listen.. she’s downstairs with robin. you’re gonna ruin her night if you tell her what happened. she’s gonna be headed home soon. it’s gonna be okay,” steve assured. “she’s gonna be okay.” steve paused. “you said you weren’t gonna deal with these guys anymore. leave it alone. it’s not your job to get involved, i don’t care how much you care for her. this is going to be bad for you.”
steve glanced at eddie’s fist after speaking, his knuckles were swollen now. a bit of fresh blood danced on the silver rings on his hands. when eddie looked back at steve he was embarrassed. he shouldn’t have just jumped on the poor guy like that, but his temper got the best of him. steve looked away from his best friend and at your soon to be ex boyfriend. the guy was only in a white shirt and boxers. he was still laying on the ground but he sat up on his elbows. he didn’t say anything. blood was all over his face and dripped onto his shirt. the collar was stretched out. eddie probably dragged him out of the bed before punching him in the face. his eyebrow was split and his eye was swollen. he would probably need stitches.
“got a good hit on him this time didn’t yah?” steve joked to cut the tension.
“sure did.” eddie answered.
the boys paused.
“please don’t tell her, okay? i don’t wanna hurt her.” your boyfriend whined.
“shut the fuck up!” eddie and steve yelled at him in unison.
“you have a lot of balls asking us not to tell her, buddy.” steve scoffed.
eddie continued his sentence, “we’re not going to tell her, you are. you are gonna tell her first thing tomorrow. you tell her everything. you understand? start to finish. if i find out you didn’t i'll come find you and beat the shit out of you.” eddie threatened.
“yeah, and i’ll help him” steve pointed at his chest with his thumb.
“as if that would matter” eddie joked.
steve scoffed at eddie before eddie started talking to your boyfriend again.
“i’m gonna lay it out for you. you’re gonna sit up here with me. steve’s gonna go downstairs and get her a ride home. she’s going to go home. get her beauty sleep, and tomorrow morning you’re going to go over to her place, tell her what happened, and break her heart.” he paused.
“and i hope you feel like a piece of shit the whole day. i doubt you will. but i pray to god you do.”
steve rushed downstairs after he heard eddie’s last words. he greeted you and robin. the crowd was cleared out, there were only a few strangers in the halls and on the couch. the commotion upstairs startled everyone. no one wanted to be caught up at steve’s house or be involved if there was fighting. usually fighting at house parties resulted in the cops being called. but you and robin stayed put. you remained quietly downstairs, trying to listen in on the loud muffled voices of the guys. you were both curious as to what happened. robin’s eyes grew wider as she saw steve’s full expression. steve gave her a look. she let out a sigh of relief.
“he’s fine.” steve said. “the guestroom is a fucking mess but it’s whatever. he’ll clean it up.”
“thank god.” robin sighed.
“who’s fine?” you questioned.
steve glanced at you, “hey! …you..!” steve paused.
“so!” he clapped his hands together, “eddie said you had to get home. like, right now. so how about we find you a ride?” steve nodded.
he introduced you to one of the guys on the basketball team. steve knew him because he played with lucas. he knew you would be safe with him. you three chatted for a bit before steve and robin sent you on your way. your house was only seven blocks from steve’s. you lived in the neighborhood over, but he and robin insisted that you didn’t walk because of how cold it was outside. you agreed without putting up much of a fight and said your goodbyes. as you walked towards the entryway you turned to steve.
“thanks for being so kind tonight, guys.” you addressed both of them. “and i know he’s probably asleep by now but could you maybe let eddie know that i wanted to tell him goodnight?” you asked.
steve scoffed, “yup! you’re right! he is totally out like a light!”
robin nudged steve in the ribs.
“but ill be sure to pass him the word in the morning. i promise.” he nodded.
soon after you left, steve and robin looked at each other in shock. they were shoving each other as they rushed back up the stairs. their eyes were wide, they crowded in the room to see if anything had changed. it hadn’t. eddie remained in the room pacing back and forth while the football captain sat in a pool of his own blood on the floor. robin rushed to eddie to give him a hug. the guy was having a tough day. when she pulled back she looked at his victim.
“woah. you totally busted his face in.” she laughed.
your boyfriend scoffed at her comment. robin stuck her tongue out at him.
“okay that’s enough from you big guy. your lucky eddie didn’t knock you out.” steve said while grabbing your boyfriend off of the floor. “but you don’t get to be mean to robin. that is where i draw the line. you have got to go.”
steve began walking him out of the door frame and down the hall. when he reached the stairs he carefully made his way down. it was late now, and though it was friday night he didn’t like staying up as late as he used to. he eased his way to the bottom and then opened his front door. steve forced him to leave his house and sit on the porch. he knew he’d get a ride home eventually, and he deserved to sit out in the cold for a while to think about what he did. meanwhile, upstairs robin turned to eddie.
“you okay?” she paused. eddie didn’t respond. “uhm. i’m gonna go grab you a glass of water, okay? just stay put.”
“m’kay.” eddie sighed.
he fell on the bed with a loud thud. his head softly landed on the two white pillows that laid at the top of the mattress. as soon as robin left his side he was out cold. he swore that this was definitely going to be his last party he ever attended. he didn’t care what steve bribed him with, but before he drifted to sleep he remembered he said that last time. he huffed.

Ooooh mind telling us about the stobin paranoia one? Or the country club meet cute?
Oh gawd, oh gawd; my dumbass critical anxiety (on top of being exhausted after working 32 hours in two days; tbh it's mostly that second thing) kept me from answering this until now.
I do want to remind whoever, including OP, that I don't really have anything more than bare bones synopses for any of the ideas I mentioned. Also, i haven't talked up a thing I've created in so long that I don't know if I remember how.
That being said, another Steddie acquaintance, @ataliagold (go read their Steddie things maybe?? They're very good, gimme just the right amount of yummy whump) asked me about both of these in PMs so I have shared a little bit about each and they liked both concepts a lot, which gave me some courage.
So, anyway, as for the Stobin paranoia fic, which I've wondered if perhaps "paranoia" is too strong a word but eeeh... Basically, it takes place right after Starcourt (maybe like the week following or so). It's pretty well-established that Steve and Robin were still at least a bit high and hopped up on truth serum during The Bathroom Talk, not to mention the memory blurring is probably even more effed up by Steve's 74th concussion in three years (lol... sorta), so Steve gets it in his head that he somehow forced Robin to come out to him and, knowing how important safety is for a hidden queer person, especially in a place like Hawkins, he starts spiraling and isolating from her. He doesn't deserve to have his person if he has to manipulate them into divulging their secrets to him after all, she's far better off without the resident douchenozzle, Steve Harrington, invading her space and privacy and having any intimate (platonic) expectations of their relationship. While he's all in his own head about that, Robin starts coming around to check on him, only to realize she's being ignored. This causes her to eventually start spiraling too - of course the great King Steve couldn't handle being friends with a fucking dyke, of course he would snub her after the smoke and fog cleared and he remembered that she'd spurned his advances, what a load of crock, she should have known better - thus their newly formed super bond starts having holes drilled into it... Anyway, the fic is about that whole misunderstanding and them trying to work through it. I just love that kinda trope 'cause I'm the worst.
As for the Steddie country club meet-cute, it starts off similarly to a couple other fics I've read here Eddie is forced to go straight (financially only) after Reefer Rick is arrested and his supply dries up and the cops have hounded him and Wayne enough times and etc. He ends up employed at the semi-local country club predominantly as a caddy. Decent pay, some tips even, enough downtime while standing on the sidelines and aimlessly following his current client around that he can think up some future campaign ideas... and, early on, another perk introduced is his good-looking apparent coworker (who he unfortunately crosses paths with while coworker is being reamed by one of the more infamous club members). He and Steve pass each other a few more times and begin engaging, closing some distance until it's unfortunately revealed that Steve is NOT his coworker and is in fact closely related to the rich fucker that was seen yelling at him on day one. He had a good excuse for being in uniform that first time but has obviously decided to lie in order to fuck with Eddie every day since.
Well, anyway, those are the general premises of those particular fics. I feel like I gave too much away but also like I didn't really say anything at all. Lol.

I love the steddie scene of them just walking in the upsidedown
The way Steve actually wants to talk to Eddie despite literally not wanting anything to do with him only a few episodes prior, literally calling him a freak. The way Eddie doesn't hear Steve the first time he calls his names and the slows down so Steve can talk to him
The both look super shy at the start of their conversation, Eddie looking confuses and Steve being maybe embarrassed, he was stuttering a lot.
Steve's body language is open, because he's opening up to Eddie and being honest and Eddie is more reserved and closed off because he doesn't trust Steve yet
Steve looking down when Eddie looks at him 🥺
When Eddie finally does say anything ("shit man you saved yourself that was a real Ozzy move back there") Steve puts his hand on Eddie's back 🥺🥺🥺
They're both walking in the upsidedown, tense as hell, but they don't even look where they're going when they're talking to each other. They literally both step over a log without even noticing. Especially Steve who was maintaining eye contact with Eddie before, during, and after stepping on the log.
Imo Steve appears to me very into the conversation, even tho he has no idea what the hell Eddie is talking about, like he's genuinely listening.
Eddie picks up that Steve doesn't know what he's talking about and switches the subject over to Dustin, something he knows they both have in common. Eddie immediately gets closer to Steve when he brings it up too
Steve is quick to respond when Eddie brings Dustin up and he looks so happy that Dustin mentioned him to Eddie sksksk
The way Steve's face drops when Eddie admits he's a bit jealous :(((
The pause in between when Eddie admits it 😭 and they make eye contact 😭😭😭
I think there was a lot going through Steve's mind when Eddie was talking, he doesn't seem to be enjoying the conversation now that the topic is himself.
Steve looks out for the both of them while Eddie is still talking.
For two boys that literally couldn't stand each other only a few days ago, they're getting along great in this scene and you can feel there friendship getting better. I genuinely think we see them get more comfortable with each other in this scene, with Steve being ok with Eddie's presence and Eddie becoming more of himself (more theatrical) as they talk.
Eddie stares at Steve when he doesn't say anything back (Steve is smiling to himself too when this happens), so he invades his personal space. Steve is lightly tries to nudge Eddie away when this happens (not clear if it's because he's uncomfortable or nervous...or something else...). But his smile afterwards is bright enough to light a room (i personally don't think Steve was uncomfortable when Eddie got in his personal space bc we've seen Eddie get in his personal space before and Steve was ok with it. Eddie literally gets in his personal space in this scene multiple times and Steve doesn't react).
When they both hear something in the distance, it kinda looks like Steve nudges his body a little bit in front of Eddie's, as if to protect him. Eddie starts to walk away while Steve still stands there, looking for what caused the noise before joining Eddie again. He even keeps looking as Eddie keeps talking and as the both of them keep walking.
When Eddie starts to talk down about himself, Steve is quick to tell him to give himself a break, lightly hitting Eddie on his arm and Eddie IMMEDIATELY hits Steve's arm away. Not in a "i don't want you to touch me" way but in a "i don't believe you, you're telling me bullshit" way. Steve immediately faces Eddie when it happens too.
Eddie seems convinced that Nancy still likes Steve. When Eddie tells Steve this, Steve looks at Nancy, but not in a longing, "i still love her" way. It looks like he's thinking. It kinda looks like like he's knows something or realized something.
And of course when he's done thinking, he proceeds to stare at Eddie's lips lmao.
It's also very odd to see Eddie give out love advice to Steve. Considering we know Steve has a reputation of being a ladies man and Eddie hasn't been with anyone as of our knowledge.
Eddie says, and i quote, "that was as unambiguous a sign of true love as these cynical eyes have ever seen." (This is both very weird and very gay in my opinion. Not to mention that Eddie doesn't blink ONCE while he's talking to Steve.)
