riki has a problem with the word ‘perfect’.

it’s as if every time someone says the word, he’s being personally targeted. a bunch of arrows aimed his way, made to take down the weakest, most vulnerable spots in him. because when people praise him wholeheartedly, why does he feel like he’s being criticised?

it feels forced. everything seems like a well-crafted lie that’s only existent to tame his emotions, usually unable to be kept in control. it’s not hard to just tell he’s not competent, isn’t it? why does he only hear people saying ‘he’s doing well’ when he’s in tears? why does receive compliments in the darkest of times, when he doesn’t even believe them himself?

he’s putting himself through an invisible hell, and it feels like nobody can see that.

apart from the numerous times he’s broken down, completely shutting off from the rest of them, he tries to put on a strong front. a mask of innocence that he doesn’t utterly hate himself and hate the way he acts and hate the way he does the things he likes the best.

he wants to pride himself on consistency, but he’s just been having so many bad days, that it’s starting to be less ‘consistent’ and more of ‘consistently terrible’. he wants to say that he deserves to be where he is now. that he’s just in an awful slump. that when summer comes ‘round, he’ll be okay again. like he always is. and like how he always will be.

a while ago, he gave up on consulting anyone about it. quickly he realised nobody would truly understand his struggles, no matter how hard they tried. it wasn’t their fault, it couldn’t be. but it just felt so off to tell somebody he wants to end it all when they think he’s exaggerating.

that is, until he met you.

you’re the light in his life.

you get him like nobody else.

late nights spent alone prior have become his solace, seeking comfort in you as he snuggles up closer into the warmth of your arms. you tell him all the things he needs to hear, and his heart aches knowing that there’s at least one person he can count on. no, literally. he may want to seem composed on stage and on camera, but he starts bawling when he sees you. he thinks you’re flawless.

Niki is the type to game hours on end with no remorse for the world around him. He is always on his computer playing video games as you just have to sit and watch him while craving his attention. This particular night you had been wanting his attention so bad.

Your needy self growing more impatient as the minutes went by. You sat beside him and watched him play, but he didn’t even acknowledge your presence. You knew he was too glued to his game, so you sat there and pouted while staring at him.

Having enough of it you whined out “Nikiii” a pout making its way onto your face. Hoping it would catch his attention and he would finally give you what you wanted.

he finally looks over at you, noticing that you were pouting. He immediately smiled and turned around to face you. A low hum escaping, putting his arm around you and pulling you close. “What’s wrong?”

You let out a sigh “Nothing just miss you, you haven’t been giving me any attention” making sure to exaggerate your words, cuddling closer to him.

Niki chuckles and wraps his arms around you, pulling you into a hug. “Aww, do you miss me?” he whispers as he plays with your hair, kissing the top of your head multiple times. Putting on a pout once again, “Yeah I did, I’m glad you finally noticed me”

“Did I ignore you that badly?” he chuckles, squeezing you a little bit against him. He feels bad that you felt ignored, and he knows he needs to spend less time on his computer.

“Just a little” moving to sit on his lap “Now, shut up and give me the attention I waited so long for” pulling him in for a kiss. He is surprised when you suddenly decide to jump onto his lap, which makes him chuckle softly as you pull him closer for a kiss.

He wraps his arms around your waist and holds onto you as he starts to kiss you back, his fingers caressing your back. Pulling away for the kiss, starting to stare into each other eyes. A smile spreads across my face.

Niki smiles back at you, a look of love in his eyes as he keeps staring at you. He runs his fingers through your hair again, gently brushing it out of your face. His other hand is still around your waist, holding you against him.

“My beautiful boy” you whisper as you wrap your arms around his neck, starting to play with his hair.

Niki blushes when you call him your “beautiful boy”. He leans his head against yours and closes his eyes, enjoying the way you play with his hair. He chuckles softly, his breath catching in his throat as he feels you playing with his hair.

You let out a chuckle, moving his hair from his forehead. Kissing it a few times before letting my head fall on his shoulders. Niki sighs contently as he feels your head rest on his shoulder.

He wraps one arm around you tighter, holding you close to him as the other hand continues to play with your hair. He kisses the top of your head, cuddling you into him as he closes his eyes and takes in your scent.

“I love you niki” you whispered into his ear.

Niki freezes when he hears you whisper in his ear. His heart starts to beat faster, and his face turns bright red. He turns his head so that he could look at you, a faint smile on his face when he sees your face.

“… I love you too…” he whispers back, his eyes sparkling with affection.

Placing your hand on his chest, feeling his heart beat. The rhythm slowly started to make you calm. Niki can feel the warm feeling spread through his body as your hand rests on his chest. He can feel his heart beating fast, and his breath grows shallow. The hand on your waist starts to tug you closer to him even as the hand on your hair plays with it.

“Can I tell you something?” he whispers. Nodding your head you whisper back “Yeah” running your hands up and down his chest “You know you can tell me anything”

Niki hesitates for a few seconds before speaking again. “When you said those words…” he whispering and looks away from you momentarily, his cheeks burning with embarrassment. “It really took me by surprise. But I realized something… I… I like hearing those words from you.”

He looks back at you, his expression soft as he stares into your eyes. Tucking a strand of your hair behind your ear.

Tears slowly start to form in your eyes as those words fall from his lip. The moment being so intimate and him being so venerable was so heart warming. Knowing he doesn’t like to open up about these kinds of stuff. A smile spreads across your features, as a single tear falls down. “I’m glad you do, I just really wanted you to know how I truly feel about you niki.” Your hands cup his face, caressing his cheek. “I love you so much I could say it so many times and it still wouldn’t be enough” placing a kiss on his forehead, then his eye lids, cheeks and finally his lips.

Niki shivers when you kiss him all over his face, his breath catching in his throat. He stares at you lovingly, watching as tears form in your eyes. He’s silent for a few moments, trying to take in your words as he feels his heart race even faster.

He can feel his eyes starting to tear up from your display of affection, and he smiles softly as he watches one measly tear fall from your eye.

He wraps his arms around you, pulling you even closer to him as he kisses your forehead, cheeks, and lips. “I love you too…” he whispers back. “And I agree no matter how many times we say I love you….. it will never be enough.”

Giving him one last kiss on his forehead you slowly make yourself comfy on his chest, drifting to sleep.

Niki continues to hold you close against him, enjoying the way your body is pressed against him. He smiles as he rubs your back gently, his fingers tracing small patterns over your skin. He can feel you starting to drift off to sleep, and he lets out a quiet chuckle.

He pulls you closer to him, enjoying the way he’s able to feel your warm breath against his chest. Finding himself drifting into slumber.

To be loved by lee heeseung meant he would continuously remind you of how much he loved you by kissing you in his favourite places— your neck, your fingers and your jawline. Tying your hair when you were working or busy, and staring holes through your back when you were applying lip gloss, eagerly waiting to wipe it off. Late night calls you would have when he couldn't sleep resulted in you reciting your notes to him, which usually had him asleep in minutes. If it were you struggling to fall asleep, he would sing to you causing you to unconsciously end up staying up just to listen to his voice. You made him cover any song possible and got exclusive covers just for the two of you. He would show off in front of the members whenever you would watch him game.

To be loved by park jongseong meant him sending you options for your hair dye at unholy hours of the morning and coming over extra early to help you with it. Constantly asking whether you had eaten and whether your work was going well. He would be over at your house, scolding you on eating too much fast food and making meal preps for whenever you were too busy. Consulted you before buying anything, which was a terribly bad option as you were the type to encourage anything but kitchen appliances that aren't coffee makers. He would also send you any flavour of coffee he was able to find and constantly expressed his love through sending you gifts wherever he was.

To be loved by sim jaeyun meant him letting you tie his hair into little ponytails even if you tugged to hard. Giving you piggy-backs and using your height difference as an advantage when he wanted to tease you. He would ruffle your hair a lot, which was a habit of his you hated the most. Kissing your head before he went anywhere and teaching you how to fish was his favourite things to do. Whenever he saw an opportunity, he took random photos of you that you never saw until he posted it and defended himself by the fact that they were quite good.

To be loved by park sunghoon meant picking his jewelry— especially glasses and taking any accessory you could find from his collection. Calling you every hour when he was abroad just to ask you whether you were fine and giving you any shirt with his name on it and making you wear it when you were going out with friends to show his 'dominance' he had said to defend himself. He would pout if you didn't say 'I love you' before ending the call and demanded a kiss as an apology. Would send you photos of scenery when he was away and had the habit of eating food that you like on your behalf.

To be loved by kim sunoo meant spending evenings binge watching popular shows while hating most of their plots. Getting you to watch horror movies with him because you were the clingiest when you were scared. Applying your lipgloss for you to give the reason that since he put it on, he can take it off and washing your hair whenever you didn't feel like doing it. Peppering your face with kisses in the excuse that his lips were like free skincare. Would organise your wardrobe every other week, complaining about how disorganised you were. He would be very serious when it comes to not eating until the movie began and would slap your hands away if you tried to eat before it played.

To be loved by yang jungwon meant him picking up souvenirs from anywhere he want and matching clothes with you on purpose but acting as if he didn't mean to. Would send a message before going live to make sure you were able to attend every live if you could. Buys you everything that you like in the convenience store and dumps it all in your house whenever you weren't around, leaving a note he scribbled before leaving. He would create random nicknames for you and send an English 'word of the week' to help with the two of you learning English.

To be loved by nishimura riki meant inside jokes which only the two of you could understand. Fiddling with his rings when he held your hand and raiding his closet whenever you got the chance. He would purposely buy things for 'himself' that he knew you would like, and pretending to be irritated when you take them. Putting things in high places you can't climb up to get just so you could ask him for help. Constantly getting him to draw for you, no matter how many times he says that he's not that good. Adoring your cats whenever he came over and making sure that they weren't bothering you when you were busy with work. Trying to lose every game for you because you were too competitive. Back hugs and cuddles with his body either towering or covering yours which was the best form of body heat in winter. He habitually pretends to not see you since you were much shorter than him.

When they see you after you being apart for a long time

Heeseung

Heeseung would envelope you in the most tightest. Not the kind where you’re gripping each other real tight but the kind of hug where you just feel so secure. Like not even the strongest wind could knock you out of his embrace

He’d kiss your forehead and just hold you for a solid few minutes as you just bathe in each other’s presence mumbling small I missed you’s and I love you’s into your ears as you inhale his scent. It’s such a healing moment and any pain, exhaustion or stress you had weighing on you didn’t seem to matter anymore because all that mattered was that you two were together

Jay

Jay would be counting down the days to being able to see you again. You two probably have one of those countdown’s on your lock screen or something. The moment you open the door for him when he knocks, you nearly tackle him over as he drops everything in his hands to hug you

Once you let go of each other, you walk in your door hand in hand. He sets his stuff down and you both immediately snuggle up on the couch maybe with a cup of wine or some tea. You rest your head on his chest as he tells you all about what him and the members have been up to and some of the exciting things they have coming up. You eventually turn on the TV and pop in some cheesy rom-com that you both love. There hasn’t been a more perfect moment. The two of you cozied up on your couch, he runs his hand through your hair as you listen to his heartbeat. Needless to say your both asleep in each others arms long before the movie ends.

Jake

Jake is all giddy. No one within his close circle doesn’t know you’re coming. He probably sits and tells Layla all about how excited he is to see you and all the things you’ll do when he goes to visit his parents. When you finally do arrive he runs up and bear hugs you with the brightest smile on his face. Like his cheeks are probably aching with how hard he’s smiling. As you walk to the car hand in hand, he drives you back with his hand not leaving yours once on the drive home and he doesn’t waste a single second in pulling you into his room and trapping you in a hug on his bed. He’s waited so long to hold you and now that he has the chance, he won’t be able to keep his hands to himself.

He’ll tell you about all the stuff he wants to do with you; the cafes he wants to visit, the late night walks with Layla, the places in Seoul he can’t wait to take you to. He’ll promise to take you to the HYBE building and show you around (maybe they’ll let you watch practice ;)). If you show more excitement to see another artist he may teasingly say that you can’t go anymore and he’ll be pouty and never leave your side if you guys actually go. The time you spend with Jake you’ll probably end up sleeping better than you ever have wrapped up in his arms

Sunghoon

Sunghoon may not immediately show it on his face, but he is so excited to see you. When he finally sees your face and sees you running towards him he’ll break out into the prettiest smile and immediately open his arms for you to run into. He’s probably trying to play it cool but in reality he’s trying not to combust from how happy he is. His giddiness immediately gets exposed the second he brings you around the members. ‘Hoon literally won’t shut up about you’ ‘y/n comes in a week, y/n comes in 4 days, y/n comes tomorrow, I see y/n in a coupon hours’ ‘I saw him kicking his feet and giggling when you guys texted last night’. Like they won’t let this poor man live.

When you guys get to be alone there may not be many words exchanged at first but you guys are just going about your business being more than content to be in each other’s presence. Whether he’s playing games, you’re doing your skincare, on your phones, cuddling in bed. Whatever y’all are doing there’s always a permanent smile on your face. But before you fall asleep you probably tease him a bit about how much the boys said he missed you just to seem him get all flustered.

Sunoo

You and Sunoo would FaceTime almost everyday when you were apart. You would be spilling tea, giving eachother updates on whatever has been going on (because he knows alllll of your friends and all of the gossip in your life), doing skincare together, or just exchanging quick words to each other to help cheer the other up.

When you finally are together again you immediately take over the bathroom for the most extensive home spa routine to ever exist. No one is interrupting and by the time you’re done, you’re going through your camera roll looking at all the goofy pics you took with your matching face masks and pajamas on and giggling to each other picking the perfect one that you can post on your story without showing his face. You guys put on the drama you agreed to watch together and spill any recent drama you’ve had yet to tell each other. Needless to say the entire evening is filled with soft giggles and sweet smiles shared between the two of you from the comfort of each others embrace in Sunoo’s room.

Jungwon

You know Jungwon is busy and he knows that you are as well so when you finally have the time to spend an evening at his place you had your bag packed a week in advance and made sure no one would get in the way. He gave you the code so you came to the dorm a bit early to surprise him when he got out of his schedule for that day. The second he walked through the door to see you in the living room his tense shoulders immediately relaxed and before you could even sit up to greet him he was laying on top of you. I’m not talking but ‘tackled into a hug on the couch’ type of thing, I’m talking the ‘there’s his body laying on top of you like a sack of potatos’ and he is not getting up.

When you finally do get him up you head of his room. After you convince him that you will in fact still be there when he’s done showering, he goes to wash up before catapulting himself into bed to lay on top of you again. You spend the next 30 minutes to an hour with his head on your chest combing your fingers through his hair as you exchange words about all the things you’ve been up to as you both slowly fade into unconsciousness holding each other. The next morning he will not let you go and you may have to get 2 of the members to pry him away from you when you have to go back home but it’s ok because you know that it won’t be long until you’ll be in each others arms again.

Ni-ki

Your texts with Riki mostly consist of daily updates and horrible memes exchanged between the two of you with some play fighting added to the mix. Even when you’re ‘arguing’ with each other he knows how to make you laugh and that does not change when you finally get to see him face to face again. He would probably pretend to not see you if you’re a lot smaller than he but when you start to get annoyed he pulls you into a hug and apologizes through his giggles.

The majority of the time you spend with each other consists of you two giggling over things you find on Twitter, taking silly goofy pictures of each other that you beg him to post on Weverse, him teasing you, you punching him for teasing you, him apologizing while laughing and the cycle repeats. By the time it gets to 1am you have settled in his room and he’s telling you goofy stories of things the members have done recently and you’re telling him about the things you’ve been up to recently with your friends (who he totally 100% remembers the names of) until the conversation fades as your breathing steadies and you both fall asleep with smiles on your faces. The rest of the time you’re staying with him consists of similar routines with maybe a late night run to the convenience store or some video games where Riki promises he’ll play fair but we all know he won’t with the biggest smile on his face.

Heeseung:

Heeseung probably wants his kid to have as much fun as possible while also keeping him respectful. He'd play games with your son, take him out for ice cream, basically anything a "fun" parent would do. If your son ever accidentally broke something in the house while they were playing around, Heeseung would be calm. "Hey, don't cry.. Mommy won't be mad.. Accidents happen."

Heeseung would the take the blame for it, but you'd know that your son did it anyway. In the end you both cheer your kid up with kissed and cuddles.

Jay:

Jay is the type to be a total stay at home dad. He'd get your son to and from school everyday, making him the best lunches with heartfelt notes. Your son is probably a mama's boy though, so evenings are spent consoling and distracting the child until you get home for dinner. "Come on, mommy will be home soon. When she gets back we can have dinner and then I'll play my guitar for you."

He most likely succeeds in keeping your child happy and after dinner, you're all smiling and laughing as Jay plays his guitar. The night ends with you both tucking your son in.

Jake:

Jake is the energetic dad that'll do anything for his daughter. He'd treat you both like royalty. Every weekend, you guys all walk Layla together, getting ice cream before spending time at home together.

Jake is the type to let his daughter paint his toes, laughing and giggling. "Wait! Make my pinky toe blue!"

He'd laugh and giggle endlessly with you both, giving you and your daughter a bunch of kisses and hugs to remind you how much he loves you both.

Sunghoon:

Sunghoon would be a very protective father. He'd take you and your daughter shopping, buying you guys whatever you ask for, all the while death staring anyone who steps too close to either of you. "Hoonie, baby.. We're fine. You don't have to stare down every guy that walks past me." You'd reassure, giving him a kiss to his cheek.

"Baby.. Don't mind me. I'm just making sure nothing happens to my favorite girls."

He stays alert but you and your daughter eventually manage to crack a smile from him by trying on silly hats and clothes in a store.

Sunoo:

Sunoo is an absolute sweetheart towards you, so I doubt he'd be any different towards your daughter. He'd probably make a whole day out of taking her on a date, going as far as taking her to a nail salon and getting his nails painted pink to match hers. You'd probably be jealous that they went out without you, but Sunoo makes it better by coming home with your favorite flowers, your favorite food, and a big hug and kiss.

You'd immediately realize that he's not only the best dad but the best husband/boyfriend as well. "You didn't think I'd forget the wonderful woman who made me a father, did you?"

Jungwon:

Jungwon is another energetic parent. If his son is playing sports, he's at EVERY game. Never missing a single one. Your kids is probably easily excited just like his dad, so you're used to hearing random yelling in the house when they're spending time together. "Baby look! He just scored!" Jungwon would be the most loving and supportive parent whether your child was really good or not.

"Your team won! Let's go get dinner to celebrate!" You'd love watching Jungwon parent because he's effortlessly good at it. He'd never have you in question as to why you're with him.

Riki:

Riki is basically your big baby. He loves being a dad, and having become a trainee and debuting at a younger age, he wants to make sure your son has as much fun as possible before his schooling days. You're often left to be the disciplinarian whenever something bad happens because Riki physically cannot bring himself to yell at your son. Your son loves you just as much though, even when you're upset because he broke something.

"Let's have ice cream before dinner tonight. Mommy is working late today."

Overall, Riki is a very good parent. Even when he's bending the rules a bit.
