Is reading easier than writing? ✍️ IRL friend @Tim_Hughes1 👫 published his 2nd edition of Social Selling📖 & it turned out great! I hope you’ll check it out🕵️‍♀️! There’s a lot of new content & he worked hard to make it happen. (It gave me flashbacks to when I revised my book for the hardbound edition 🤪.) Meanwhile, I now wonder if reading could become more challenging than writing 🤔? Two weeks ago, I wrote about ChatGPT, an AI tool capable of writing almost anything. It passed the Wharton School MBA exam👩‍🎓, & scored in the 52nd percentile on the SAT📈. The more time I spend using it, the more mind-boggling it is🤯. I’ve generated outlines, gathered research & drafted documents that I use in my client work. (NOTE: All information should be reviewed for accuracy!)  INDISPENSIBLE AI APPS I USE: 🧠OTTER.AI— Record interviews or meetings & transcribe to text, including the ID of various speakers. 🧠GRAMMARLY— I use it to fine-tune essential writing projects. It evaluates for tone & audience, context, grammar, spelling, & punctuation. 🧠GOOGLE ASSISTANT— I use it throughout the day. It’s the 4th member of our family & often joins in during dinner. 🧠ZOOM—Zoom uses AI to continually improve & it now offers “intelligent conversational live chat” customer assistance. Haven’t tried it, but, Um. OK. We shall see. We probably aren’t always aware of AI’s presence in our lives. If you use Lensa, other face-altering apps, or Microsoft’s Azure, you’re using AI too!  What do you think? Are you excited🥳 or apprehensive😲? Is AI good👍 or bad👎?  . . I wish more sewing/crafting books were spiral bound. It should be the default with anything that has a pattern inside. It's dang impossible to make an undisturbed copy of a pattern in a book with blue binding. :/

tho there was also like 2 volumes of The Possessed I could’ve bought 😀😀

hi! just wanted to say your thesis was featured in a class I was in today and it was super cool! the way you combined jung's archetypes with food (and one other thing im forgetting rn) was really smart and the results were so cool to look at and honestly kind of surreal in the middle of a bunch of research papers. the graphics you made for the paper were also really neat! that's all i just wanted to share that alkjdalksdj have a good one!

seriously don’t get people who get so prissy about the smallest blemishes on their books as if any signs of having used it for its intended purpose (reading, which of course requires holding it etc) is offensive to them

Learned TODAY via etsy that apparently there's a uh, pretty significant section where people sell professionally bound fanfiction specifically of draco/hermione fic. Like no other fic. Like 90% of this nice fic that is real books on etsy is dramione, which is different but adjacent to all of the rey/kylo ren fic that has gotten published with the serial numbers filed off.

Truly the popular fandom het hero/villain problematic ship people are something else entirely.

a friend of mine is currently reading Don Quixote which was written as a parody of (kitschy) knight novels. Now he's speculating if such a thing could be written about the contemporary YA genre. I would read that.

#too bad YA readers take these books way too seriously. #Lewis rambling #YA negativity #At best they're smut novellas which previously were cheap paperbacks sold for 50 ct. #no shame on 50ct novelettas but at least certain genre fiction indulgent writings are honest about their quality. #These YA story bit word mashes are not worth 25+ hardbound by the quality that is in them. #but at their most common very serious social politics become a comodified backdrop to demonstrate what a progressive minded person the MC
