Personal headcanon:

I know people say they imagine Astarion opening up a tailor shop or something once Cazador is dealt with, because of his sewing skill. To me….. I feel like the repairs to his clothes are done out of grim necessity, not a love for sewing. Like, these aren’t just a few repairs here and there, his whole outfit gives a sense that this character cares about his appearance but is never given new clothes and he carefully fixes them over time because he has no other choice.

My opinion is, once everything is over, he never sews again. Sewing makes him feel like he’s back in the kennel. Sewing was how he kept the fraying bits of himself functioning together, and he has no need of that anymore. If he tears a shirt, if he rips a seam, there’s a panicked instinct to sew it back, because these are all the clothes you have, you can’t waste them, you have it fix it, you have to, you have to… but he gets a thrill when he swallows down that panic, throws it out, and actually gets himself something new. It feels like an unimaginable luxury.

my hours at my second job have been cut now the holidays are over. my partner had to go to the ER multiple times in december and just went again today. the prescriptions, even with insurance, are killing us. my apartment complex changed electric companies after overcharging us for months and now we are being charged an early termination fee of $160 i don’t have. like. it’s just one thing after another after another. i just need help until our income taxes come in in february, after which i should be able to pay off a loan or two and just BREATHE.
