If I ever get my hands on a time machine, the first thing I am going to do is find whichever individuals are responsible for the misconceptions that you have to be a journalist to be a good writer and that every writer likes journalism. And then I am going to shake those people so hard they each break at least one tooth. And I am not going to apologize for it.

tfw when you write an entire novel with two protagonists that spent the entire plot getting closer to each other, becoming best friends and eventually both of them deciding they would rather die than allow the other to not live a long, fulfilling life, their friendship carrying most of the emotional weight of the entire plot and the emotional climax being one of them sacrificing his life so the other can live and then the other crossing literal universes to find him, a tearful smile in his face as he confesses how much he missed him. which is the scene you wanted to write and show the most because, again, this is the pay off to the slowburn you've been writing in the entire novel and what everything has been building up to since the very first chapter. and then you end the novel by having them share a smile, finally confident they'll be able to have a happy future.

but you also just gotta have one of them marry offscreen because everyone knows you can't be happy if you're not in a het marriage with kids lmao it's whatever it's okay i'm fiNE-

honestly if I were ever to throw the Suitehearts into any of my Killjoys stuff the dynamic would literally be the stupidest thing in the world. you do not want to have the Four and those guys together in any setting. it's a recipe for disaster. Jet and Benzedrine bitch and bicker like old ladies. telepathic warfare is waged via a complex language of glares and eyebrow movements between everyone in the room. Sandman makes a wholeheartedly joking comment to Ghoul like "I want to study you in a lab" and Kobra Kid gives him a black eye on the spot. Crab and Donnie end up playing hide n seek with the Girl until someone else who isn't aware of the game accidentally dumps a whole dude out of their hiding spot on accident and then gets elbowed for it. everyone hates each other but they're also kind of pals in the way that people who occasionally help each other out but don't see each other outside of that can be. that kind of thing

when i was a kid i really resented the fact that my mom kept forcing us to check out nonfiction books alongside our fantasy novels in order to "broaden our minds" and basically ensure we were learning Real Factsies(tm), but now that i'm older, if i don't go off and learn some Real Factsies(tm) every so often, then i'll end up finding my fictions dull and uninspired

#i guess i just also hated how kids' nonfiction tended to present itself. unless they were like those slim encyclopedias #with all the sleek pictures n glossy pages of diagrams n shit #bc i remember reading a nonfiction book abt seahorses for adults called 'poseidon's steed' in like fifth grade and loving it #adult nonfiction books (in my limited experience) tends to read more like storytelling except everything is real and has citations #also now that i'm an Adult(tm) with More Life Experience(tm)(tm) (this is a cue for my older mutuals to laugh at my precociousness or w/e) #i find it easier to connect to the text-- in this case a book abt a guy called paul otlet n his contributions to information science #which is a thing i am Very Much interested in bc the internet has spoiled me with its indexing and yet i love analog information #also it was right next to two volumes from the 60s detailing various historical book burnings #and indeed the intro talked abt how this man's life's work was handily destroyed by the nazis who thought he was cataloguing garbage #learning abt all the lil guys in the 20th century who fuckin loved organizing information n bitched abt there being information overload #they are So Real they would have looked at the modern internet n gone 'this is too much make wikipedia the main page' #花話 #anyway i doubt i'd have appreciated reading so much had i not read fiction so avidly growing up #and i rebuke the idea that the fantasy novels taught me nothing at all bc stories teach us abt being people #and demonstrate experience better than a more academic n factual analysis/write-up or w/e #yes i do love to learn abt philosophy in its like. rigorous academic state or form or w/e. #but that's diff from seeing it in practice in the real world or in people's stories n how it Affects Things

I hate numbers :( #it's one of those I'm sure #That place would be a limestone basin above a warm water source called the Devils hole (hence the name of the fish) #That water source is located 15m underneath the ground and the basin above it is about as big as a small room I'd say #People have tried to grow the population artifically but it failed which is tragic since the population in that basin is still declining #as far as I know at least; it's possible I missed something and it went back up again but last I knew there were like only... 110 of them? #This is because of a pump station located very closely to this Devil's hole (can you see I find that name is amusing?) #is stopping the water in that basin from rising; and therefore endangering the habitat of these fish #The close by Hover Damn is also responsible for this and researching this I did not expect this name to pop up #Fallout New Vegas follows me everywhere it would seem #And also! They eat diatoms which are some funky looking things as well! Algae if I remember correctly #I highly highly highly recommend looking at pictures of those #They are pretty pretty; trust me on this #Also; and feel free to ignore this; but these guys give me Mirage and V1 from Ultrakill vibes #based on the color mostly #Although really; show me anything blue and metallic and I will find a way to make it about them #Don't even get me started on color associations; I will not shut up and that is a promise #I could make one of those 5 hour breakdowns of why which shade of any color makes me think of the little idiots that occupy my mind 24/7

finished watching the good place and feel like going on so many existential tirades right now oh god what has this show done

#the good place #what the FUCK #and im gonna wake up and go to school tomorrow like i didnt just contemplate my own mortality for two hours the night prior #all of my friends are gonna die one day and so will everyone else i love and care about and everything is gonna end one day #and yet somehow that ending is what gives those things meanings and purpose and significance i hate everything #we are BALLS of BONE and FLESH WHY DO WE FEEL THINGS #this was a terrible idea i hate you for this evolution #and the show is a comedy too how did it do this #ill wake up tomorrow and be fine i swear but not really #i wish i could just have emotional closure with things yknow #because logically i hear things and i can accept them as a proper way to go about things #or at leasts accept that theyd work for me as a form of emotional closure or a way to solve whatever problem it is #but emotionally i dont learn and the feelings and anxieties are still there because i cant believe them #i can know those things i can accept them logically because they make so much sense #but then when its just about how i feel logic has like no effect #emotions suck i hate them #just like listen to the logic PLEASE ITD MAKE THINGS SO MUCH EASIER #i should go to therapy #sorry to all my followers for this you guys definitely didnt sign up for my existential crises at 2 am #itll go back to normal later dw
