i loved your simpatico mistletoe fic. what other bots fall victim to Swerve's mistletoe?
Heehee Thank you <3 I love those nerds so much GAH!
Uhhh cygate+whirl, dratchet, rodimags and Swerve/Skids under the cut:3 This got a BIT longer than I intended but who cares:)
Cygate+whirl:
Tailgate see the mistletoe and is eager about trying it out himself. He's not entirely sure if the mistletoe itself holds any compulsive properties or its just solely tradition but either way he wants to give it a go. New experiences and all that.
Cyclonus is so against this idea. For multiple reasons. 1. It would be inherently performative to go purposefully put yourself under it. 2. Cyclonus has some trepidations about human traditions as a whole, especially when so many mechs on this ship can't even remember their own Cybertronian ones. 3. He has complicated feelings about Tailgate willingly putting himself under the mistletoe and some random mech being the one to kiss him. Every time Tailgate brings up trying it out, Cyclonus desperately thinks of another reason to keep Tailgate seated in the booth beside him. He's not sure how long he can keep up the ruse.
Whirl, ever observant and ever chaotic, sees all this and takes matters into his own hands. Claws. You get it. Despite how vigilant everyone has been with the whole mistletoe situation, it is surprisingly easy to snatch it without anyone noticing. It also takes a surprisingly long time for anyone to notice it is missing. Enough time for Whirl to make his way around the room and poise it innocently over Tailgate and Cyclonus's helms. Someone has to get their two to stop toeing around each other and he is tired of no one stepping up to the plate.
What he didn't take into consideration is getting a nuzzling kiss from Tailgate too. And an awkward yet tender peck from Cyclonus...After that, he lost track of the mistletoe, more than happy to cozy up between the two and sip their spiced energon together. He's giddy the rest of the night. Mission accomplished. And he received a delightful holiday bonus.
Dratchet:
Ratchet is mildly concerned once he knows the mistletoe is missing. He had been weary of it since he first saw it being installed. He had just wanted to get a drink with First Aid and Ambulon and then he was going to be on his way. But once the mistletoe was hung up, his only exit was blocked.
Granted, the mistletoe being there didn't mean he had to kiss anyone. Plenty of mechs had been fortunate enough to pass through with no issue. But Ratchet wasn't sure his luck would be the same. Not to mention, there was only one mech he'd even be remotely okay with kissing. Maybe even a little more than okay with. But Drift was anchored at Rodimus's booth and seemed to have no intention of getting up anytime soon.
But once it is missing, a new worry comes about. Too many mechs around him have a penchant for mischief and Ratchet is too tired to want to deal with it. He weighs his odds of successfully escaping without any drama while he sips his drink and is surprised when the metal flower falls into his lap. He's not sure how he got this or why but First Aid and Ambulon start giggling like pre-med students and egging Ratchet on about having to kiss someone.
Ratchet is not wholly upset with this. Fate is in his own hands and as long as he keeps the mistletoe to himself, there is nothing to worry about. He can make his escape and toss the dreaded thing out. Only halfway into standing up and turning, he runs right into Drift.
Drift had been listening to Rodimus's "pep talk" all night and finally decided to make his move. All he had to do is ask Ratchet for a drink or a walk or even just a small conversation. He'd take anything at this point. From what he could see across the bar, Ratchet looked in good spirits so he thinks this is a good as any chance.
When Ratchet turns to face him, all thoughts of confessions or propositions flee his mind because his optics drop to the metal mistletoe in his hands. Both of them are awkward about it and Ratchet, fully fed up with the entire debacle of the mistletoe and maybe a little inebriated, just throws it aside and gives Drift a kiss on the cheek.
Drift is...more than happy with this outcome. They leave Swerve's together. To walk. To talk. To exchange more kisses.
Rodimags:
Rodimus sees the mistletoe on the ground and snatches it up immediately. A million ideas go through his head of how he can mess around with it (and maybe score a few kisses himself). However, before he can even act on any of them, a heavy hand lands on his shoulder and Rodimus doesn't even need to turn around to see Magnus's unamused faceplates.
The worst part is Rodimus can't even uno-reverse the situation. Magnus is too tall for him to get the mistletoe above them so he just crosses his arms and tries to pretend he only had the purest of intentions of going to hang it back up. He's not even sure if Magnus believes him, but he does offer to help.
Ultra Magnus absolutely does not believe Rodimus was being a Good Samaritan but he will go with the lie if it means getting that idiotic item out his hands. Plus, he is at least tall enough to affix it himself, rather than watching Rodimus use a wobbly chair or worse climb another mech's shoulders. He is a little weary when Rodimus follows him along but its not entirely unwelcomed. Contrary to popular belief, he does enjoy Rodimus's company.
Little does he realize, as he his hanging the mistletoe over the doorway, it does position it above both of them. Rodimus's grin is all teeth, daring and challenging. Smug. Magnus is not amused as he often isn't when Rodimus decides to be how Megatron's puts it: a little shit.
The smug grin is wiped off Rodimus's face as Magnus leans down and gives him a kiss right on the lips. Rodimus...hadn't expected Magnus to meet his challenge. But he certainly isn't complaining now. Especially when Magnus pulls away and he's got the faintest of warmth crawling up his cheeks.
Rodimus's proposition to continue things in his rooms is very much turned down. However, his counter proposal of sharing a drink...is accepted warmly.
Skids/Swerve:
Swerve is pleased with the entire event. The mistletoe was a grand success but so was his newly crafted spiced energon. Skids had also been immeasurable helpful is putting the whole event together and Swerve is even more thankful that his friend stayed behind to help clean up.
It takes them a while and they drink the remaining spiced energon together while they tidy up. The last thing they have to go with remove the mistletoe which Skids offers to do while Swerve wipes down the sticky bar top.
The crinkling of metal is Swerve's only clue that Skids has returned and when he looks up, Skids is hanging it above Swerve's helm with a soft smile.
Their kiss is soft and sweet, tastes like spiced energon and holiday cheer. At least, that's what Skids says when he retells the story. Swerve is just happy the night ended even better than he thought. He keeps the mistletoe in the back. Ready to bring back out next holiday season.

Same anon concerning Dratchet—
I get what you're saying a bit more, except my big counter would be:
How much of a main cast member is Drift, though? 🤔
He has a lot of presence when he's around, but if you look at the numbers... he's actually entirely missing for half the series (40/82 issues for MTMTE+LL) and his panel time is only spotty otherwise.
As much as I love him, he's really not much of a player plot-wise—you could honestly sub him out for just about anyone with no appreciable difference.
Whereas, I'd say Ratchet is still a main cast member regardless of him being entirely absent for 11 issues.
So... Drift might seem Ratchet-centric, but as opposed to that being a reflection of his actual character, it's only a reflection upon the fact that his only claim to fame is Ratchet so it follows any panel time he gets is panel time tying him up with Ratchet.
TL;DR: it's not that Dratchet/Ratchet more important to Drift's character, it's just that it's what connects him to the story.
Does that make any sense at all?
It’s interesting that you bring that up because I did think about the fact that, quantitatively, Drift isn’t quite a main cast member.
I was looking more at qualitative presence.
“you could honestly sub him out for just about anyone with no appreciable difference.”
^ Right. His presence in the series was heavily dependent on Dratchet being so huge, and that’s one of the main reasons I take issue with it in a similar way I think Cygate is overrated.
You’re right that Drift’s claim to fame was through Ratchet, but as far as I know, Ratchet is still the most stable relationship to him outside of MTMTE. Everyone else dies or walks away.
Ratchet was there at the start back at the Dead End, and Drift’s story ended with him attaining his goal of belonging. With Ratchet, apparently. The message conveyed by that narrative is that his story and all his losses were a “journey to Ratchet.” (aka journey to belonging)
Someone (@/weapon-up-wallflower?) wrote something about Dratchet and how every step led to each other (if I recall correctly). I wish I could remember where the post was…
To me, the fact that Ratchet is the main connection Drift gets to [arguably] his most significant story makes their relationship/the ship extremely important to his character arc as a whole. It carries the most weight.
As for Drift’s actual character—barring narrative and storytelling—I still see Ratchet as being key because Drift’s life without Ratchet would be emptier, kinda bland, and would lack all meaning/direction because all of his other relationships were severed or shallow.
Besides Wing and maybe Megatron (both dead), what did any of his other relationships do for him? Nothing.
Meanwhile, if Drift were removed from Ratchet’s life, Ratchet would still stand well on his own as an individual character. Judging by the end of LL, Ratchet was a significant part of many people’s lives and vice versa. His life would still have had meaning without Drift.
I guess I’m just sad that other, potentially interesting options to make Drift compelling were ignored/destroyed with each loss he faced over the course of his story.
EDIT: I realize this would be very different if Drift weren’t so relationally oriented. Relationships aren’t always the most significant thing about a character, but because they are for Drift, that’s where my focus goes: The nature and quality of his relationships.

A random thing I found in Notes: a Transformers Prime era Dratchet fic I will never finish!
“I’m on monitor duty,” Ratchet said, “Don’t expect—“
A loud ping cut off his rant. “An Autobot signal.” Ratchet’s fingers flew to the touchscreen. His optics flashed in surprise. “It’s Drift.”
Bulkhead and Wheeljack shared a knowing look, that was a name they hadn’t heard in a while.
Ratchet moved fast. “I’m bringing him in.”
“Who’s Drift?” Miko asked.
Miko was Bulkhead’s charge, Wheeljack would leave the talking to him.
“Well, uh,” Bulkhead looked to Wheeljack for help. None was coming. “He’s a former Wrecker, great shot, good with a sword—“
Miko smiled. “Like Wheeljack.”
“He’s nothing like me!” Wheeljack snapped.
Another human would have shrink away from the outburst, but not Miko. She had stood up to far worse than a pissy Autobot.
“Uh huh.” Miko swiveled on her butt. “Hey Arcee,” she called out, “why are the guys so upset about this Drift?”
Arcee made a “keep quiet” gesture. “He was a Decepticon once.”
Miko’s eyebrows crawled all the way up to her hairline. “Really?” She practically squeaked she was so excited about the gossip. “But he switched to the good guys, right?”
“Yeah,” Bulkhead admitted, “he did.”
“Then what’s the problem?”
Wheeljack scowled, some wounds still felt fresh after all this time. “He offlined a lot of our friends before switching badges.”
“We probably offlined a lot of his buddies too,” Bulkhead pointed out.
This was all confusing to Miko. “Then why—“
This was a question Arcee could answer. “Technoism.”
A shiver went up Bulkhead’s spine at the mere mention of it.
Undeterred, Miko continued her line of inquiry.
“Technoism is belief that cybernetic organisms are superior to organics,” Arcee said, “and that the only pure universe is one without sentient organics in it.”
The implication struck Miko hard. “No.”
“Deadlock was a true believer in the Decepticon cause,” Arcee said.
“Enough to kill his own kind over it,” Wheeljack said, “but when Megatron started targeting other races—“
Miko was starting to understand. “He became an Autobot.”
“It took the threat of genocide to wake him up.”
“He still woke up,” Bulkhead said. “How many other ‘cons decided that it was okay?”

'How could you let it get this bad’ with DRIFT ofc
My beloved lesbians human au. Dratchet time.
Ratchet sets her stethoscope down with a sigh. “Again, Drift? How does this keep happening? How could you let it get this bad? Don’t you remember last time?”
Ratchet remembers last time. She remembers it vividly. She’d been on shift at the hospital when Drift came in half out of her mind with fever and dehydration, coughing the same rattling, infected cough she’s got going on now. Trying to finish a shift while her girlfriend cries and coughs in the ER waiting room isn’t an experience she’s eager to have again, and she thought she’d impressed that on Drift the first time around. Apparently, all she’d managed to convey was “don’t go to the hospital when you’re sick.” Too harsh. She comes on too harsh sometimes, especially with Drift. She needs a gentler touch.
Sure enough, the first thing Drift rasps out after recovering from her coughing fit is, “Sorry.”
Ratchet sighs again and shoves her first aid kit away from her. She’s kneeling on the floor in front of Drift, who’s perched on the couch with her face buried in her hands, trembling like it’s subzero even in the warmth of Ratchet’s apartment. Ratchet places both hands on her knees, thumbs rubbing Drift’s thighs in heavy, sure circles. “Don’t be sorry,” she says. “Nothing to be sorry about. I’m just worried about you. You’ve been sick a lot lately.”
Drift struggles to clear her throat. “I know. I really—I really didn’t mean for it to get this bad again. I didn’t think it was this bad.”
Drift has something of a skewed idea of what “bad” means in terms of her own health. It’s not her fault, Ratchet knows, and she’s been working on it, but it’s hard to watch her hurt herself over and over again in ways that, to Ratchet, seem easily avoidable. It’s hard not to snap at her and make the problem worse. Ratchet keeps rubbing her thighs. “I know, love. Let’s just get you taken care of, okay? We can worry about everything else when you’re better.”
Drift nods, sniffing and wiping her face on her sleeve before looking up. She looks even worse than when she got here, pale and puffy-eyed with bitten lips and a chapped nose. Her hair’s a wreck and Ratchet makes a silent promise to braid it later. Drift’s got to have a headache, and she always loves it when Ratchet plays with her hair.
“Thank you,” Drift says, still miserable. “I—thank you.”
“Of course.” Ratchet stands. “Stay right here and make yourself comfortable. I’m going to heat up some soup.”

Mainly a Ratchet Character Study but also: Parallel between the Ineffable Husbands and Transformers Dratchet (mostly IDW)
Obligatory Spoiler Warning: just don't read unless you've finished or heard about the last 15 mins of Good Omens S2E6 bc the spoilers (yes, the same moment you keep seeing everywhere) are there but honestly it's not descriptive enough imho.
Short ver. is at the bottom since this is pretty lengthy <3
Ratchet Character Study
The end of Good Omens S2E6 reminded me of Ratchet and Drift/Deadlock from Transformers for some reason. I think it's bc I've accepted the fanon idea (a lot of what's below is fanon/HCs, some canon to it though, but reader discretion and all that) of Deadlock likely offering Ratchet the chance to run away during the war (perhaps after realizing Megatron was starting to lose it and the Con cause was not the same one he initially fought for/corruption, conquering, domination, lunacy, etc.) with the promise of *them* and security with Ratchet no longer having to deal with the stresses that being the Autobot CMO carried and the damage that no doubt did to Ratchet's psyche and over-well being over the millennia. Esp. since Ratchet was so idealistic and bright before the war, and while still opinionated and fierce, was a youthful "party animal" with plenty of optimism, determined to do anything he could to see his hopes of a peaceful Cybertronian society through.
All Ratchet seems to want is the best for his planet, the best for other mecha, hence why I've always believed that Ratchet is a "people person" (further backed up by his past as the "party ambulance" ;D). He just has all his walls up 24/7 (sarcasm/sardonicism, gruffness, anger, etc.) to protect this soft, emotional part of himself, similar to how he keeps his walls up so that he can compartmentalize and perform his job efficiently as CMO even when surrounded by tragedy. He's a "people person" with a job that revolves around death. That shit definitely took a toll, but I don't believe it ever broke him necessarily. And Drift/Deadlock, so afraid of the war actually breaking Ratchet, wanted to do everything in his power to protect him from the war. The possibility of Deadlock presenting this offer, to me, sounds absolutely plausible.
When offered the chance to "run away", of course Ratchet declines, stating he knows his place and that is wherever he can decidedly do the most good and help the most mecha. Even though he'd love nothing more than to be free from the pressure and, most importantly, be with Drift/Deadlock instead of sneaking around throughout the war and having their relationship be so ethically complex. Ratchet understanding why Drift did what he did in becoming a 'Con and everything else, understanding that even though Deadlock went against Ratchet's code of morals, Deadlock was inevitable given Drift's beginnings in the Dead End. Hence why later in LL Ratchet seems to "blame himself" for how Drift became Deadlock, because Ratchet may believe that he should've "saved" or "fixed" Drift.
Then again, Ratchet knows the complexity of that, knows that it isn't "that simple" and that converting/ensuring Drift as an Autobot wasn't much better than having Drift become a Decepticon because, realistically, Autobots were doing things nearly just as bad. Of course, as the war went on it became clear that Megatron was going off the deep end and the Autobots truly did become the "Good Guys", if one could even call it that. Really, they were the lesser of two evils, or the arch-nemesis of the Decepticons that put a stop to their wrong-doings, but regardless, the Autobots themselves were far from innocent. Esp. from other civilizations/planets' perspectives.
When the Decepticons began, it was mainly in an effort to change Cybertronian society for the better, to gain equality for all Cybertronian mecha and get rid of the corrupt government and caste system, and I believe Ratchet (esp. seeing the corruption from the medical malpractice POV) low-key sided with them when this was their original goal. Drift/Deadlock is what makes Ratchet truly acknowledge this millennia after the war (either during the LL which it is hinted at or sometime before then during the war they may have had disagreements about this), but he'd known it deep down since the beginning.
Ratchet mostly went with the Autobots because of his own personal ties (friends like Orion Pax), his position in said hierarchy (he was the chief of medicine for descendants of the Prime and really, would Pit mecha really be accepting of the Senate's CMO in their ranks?), and as seen in the IDW comics, various other reasons.
In the end, Ratchet practically stumbled into becoming an Autobot. He really didn't want to be with any faction, but as an Autobot he believed he could do more good, esp. since he tended to end up helping both sides' soldiers anyways. Being an Autobot just meant he had access to better supplies/tech/etc.
I also personally believe Ratchet was too proud of a mech to admit this to Drift/Deadlock's face until the LL. Admitting that Ratchet was originally on the wrong side, helping the wrong side, this whole time would be a blow to his own mental, it would (and does) cripple him with guilt. Again, all of this is just my personal head cannons and fanon ideas that I've seen, but I like to imagine this is pretty generally accepted.
I feel like younger Ratchet is torn between sides. Having started clinics for the "lower class" mecha in areas like the Dead End, providing care free of charge to those who couldn't afford it as long as they promised to change themselves for the better, conveys to me that Ratchet was empathetic to the struggles of lower class mecha, despite starting off as a forged medic and becoming the Chief Medical Officer for the Senate. Yes, Ratchet started off and lived a comparatively privileged life, but he has never turned a blind eye to any other mech's struggles and does his best to understand it regardless. Ratchet's "golden spark" so-to-speak is something I believe Drift sees and cherishes, and thus it's what Deadlock wishes to protect. The Prime's doctor willingly decided to save the life of a drug addict grifter in the Dead-End and continued to see value in and, most importantly, care for Drift's life, even after Drift became Deadlock and turned to a life of killing mecha that Ratchet may have considered friends/allies/etc. I full-heartedly believe that Ratchet still looked after/patched up Deadlock even though he was with the 'Cons, esp. since I believe Deadlock kept watch after Ratchet even though he was with the 'Bots. Regardless of their conflicting morals, these two never stopped looking after and caring for one another.
I can see their "argument" or discussion over this proposal going so many ways, but ultimately, as with a certain Angel and Demon, Drift/Deadlock wanted them to become their own "side" and Ratchet, for a multitude of reasons (pride/empathy/guilt/loyalty/desire to help or "savior complex" depending how you see it/arrogance/etc.) decided to stick with the life he hates. He despises the war, the life-loss, the pain, the pointless-ness of it all (aren't they all Cybertronian in the end?), but Ratchet is an emotional mech deep-down and because of his complex feelings and morality, he turns down Deadlock's offer.
The Parallel:
As with a certain Angel, Ratchet can't just sit on the sidelines and do nothing, he has to help. As CMO and a close friend of Optimus, Ratchet is shown to have a lot of push/pull on Autobot command and their decisions and not always but often in various comics/shows/media, we see Ratchet propose the more compassionate and ethical, while still cruelly (realistically) logical, decisions.
Like Aziraphale, Ratchet believes that by being in a position of power/control/leadership and by being a determined son of a bitch, he can "save [their race/people/planet/universe/the balance/etc.]" for a lack of better terms. They put aside their own happiness/freedom/peace/etc., no matter the repercussions for them or those in their personal lives, to make the decisions and take the actions that they believe will do the universe, as a whole, the most good. That's really all they want.
Short Ver.
Aziraphale still believes that there can be good and that Heaven can be "fixed", and additionally, having Crowley back with him on Heaven's side would make *them* and everything else so much easier. Easier to protect Crowley, easier for Crowley to be happy because Aziraphale himself would also be safer, everything would be better if Aziraphale could "fix" things and the balance. Make Heaven "good" again and Hell "bad" once more, un-blur the lines, despite Crowley knowing it was never like that to begin with ("I think I understand a lot more than you do"). Additionally, all the trauma and manipulation that Aziraphale has experienced in Heaven no doubt plays a role in all of this.
Aziraphale only wants to do the right thing, but his headspace and how he decides to go about it are just so seriously warped by both himself and from his experiences of being an Archangel of Heaven.
Ratchet just wants the war to end. For the fighting to stop and there to be some peace. He still believes, despite everything he's witnessed and been through, that the war can end. He continues to hope. Ratchet, despite how gruff and jagged his exterior may become, no matter how cynical and pessimistic he acts, still has a spark of gold deep down. He still wants to do good and he believes that there can be good again, even though Deadlock knows that there was never any good to begin with. Why save Cybertronian society and the way things used to be if they were never any good before? Moreso, why save Cybertronians when they were never any good before? Shit's always been fucked up and messy, where does this bleeding hearted CMO get off in trying to save all of them?
He gets off nowhere but he's still going to try regardless because it's worth it. Cybertron, Cybertronians, mecha, are still worth saving. If Ratchet is anything, it is stubborn and after everything he's been through, he'll be damned if he gave up now.
Side Note: I still believe there was a miracle in Aziraphale's coffee ;) but in case there's not take this comparison I randomly drew from the S2 finale <3

Dratchet for the ship game? 👀
Ship It- do you even have to ask? Lol
What made you ship it? I honestly didn’t in the beginning, was more of a Roddy x drift shipper. I read some stories that really just got me into it. I really like the aspect that they met in the dead end clinic, then all that time I between happened. They just seem to have such a good dynamic together.
What are your favorite things about the ship? I like how they kinda help each other out in different situations- like cover each other’s weak areas, so together they are much stronger. In the stories I read, rat/chet was patient and understanding to dri/fts unease with certain things and his regretful past. I also feel they work well as a couple that playfully bicker back and forth, all in good fun!
Is there an unpopular opinion you have on your ship? Not really, to be honest. I know that sounds really cheesy because nothing is perfect. Like, I never really read anything about them having a serious arguement so perhaps they are often portrayed as always being love-dovey? The only moment that comes to my mind was in the comic where rat/chet claims dri/ft believes I. Everything where as the medic believes in nothing… come one, something’s gotta annoy the daylights of of them about the other…lol

Closest of Friends
Day 1: contentment Rating: M (overall) Tags: Minimal Editing, Fluff and Humor, Old Married Couple, Polyamory, Old Loves Rekindled Fic Summary: Drift and Ratchet are living their soft and cozy lives together way out in the quiet serenity of rural lands that sit on the edge of the wild. They're good with this, couldn't ask for more. Then more comes anyway by way of the past, as it always does.
Note: Just a heads up! This week is focused on Dratchet emotionally, but it is working toward a polycule! (Which will be explored in April during Polyship Week.)
Written for Dratchet Party March 2023! 🥳 AO3 link in reblog!
Something about simply being in Ratchet's presence soothed his weary spark in ways nothing else in his life had ever managed. Sitting together on the back deck of their rural home on a set of matched rocking chairs based on Earth design, Drift shifted his hand a little farther across the small table that separated them to brush his fingertips across the back of Ratchet's hand. He grinned as Ratchet grunted and blinked out of his small nap, helm jerking up and optical shutters blinking away the haze of recharge. Out of the corner of his optic, Drift saw the annoyed little glare Ratchet shot at him and muffled the snicker into his other hand.
"Just you wait," Ratchet said, the roll of gravelly static filling his vocalizer announcing just how deeply asleep he'd managed to get. "One of these days, I'm going to catch your aft in the middle of a snooze and then I'm gonna make sure you wake up thinking Unicron himself is on your back." As gruff as the words were, Ratchet still turned over his hand and wove his fingers into Drift's.
Drift lowered his helm, blinking off his optics as warmth suffused his frame. Maybe one day he'd stop having to remind himself this was just his life now, but it was fully apparent that day was not yet upon him. "I look forward to it," he replied to his conjunx, amused at the way he continued to work the sleep from his optics. "That's the day I'll know I'm finally out of practice."
That earned him a quiet round of laughter from Ratchet, ticking his mood for the day quite firmly into a good one. Drawing such a wonderful sound from his beloved medic never failed to push any and all doubts back into a dark and dusty corner of his mind. The days those doubts managed to make it to the forefront had grown so few and far between that Drift occasionally managed to forget them. He glanced at their joined hands, then turned his gaze on the wide garden that stretched toward the forest that filled the back half of their property. Somewhere among those trees, a good-sized stream burbled and danced over a bed of water-rounded stones. He gave Ratchet's hand a gentle squeeze as an idea flittered into his mind.
"Hey, Ratty," Drift started, fluttering his fingers through an idle series of sweet nothings over Ratchet's hand, "how about we have a picnic for lunch? We'll put something simple in the basket, grab the poles Roddy gave us, and see if we can catch dinner. How's that sound?"
Ratchet hummed deep in his chest, a low rev of his engine accompanying his thought process. Watching him, Drift pushed all the softness the mech made him feel through the tendrils of their tangled fields. It was returned in equal measure. "I think that sounds like a fine idea," Ratchet answered finally. "I haven't been fishing in longer than Rodimus has been alive, you know. It's about time to see if I've still got the patience for it."
"Good, you can teach me," Drift said in response, another smile stretching across his face at the surprise that flooded Ratchet's. "I've never been."
The creaks and groans of Ratchet's joints and cables as he leaned forward, pushing to his pedes probably faster than he should have, had Drift grimacing near as deep as Ratchet. He didn't release his grip on Ratchet's hand, though, letting his conjunx tug him from his rocking chair, as well. Ratchet stepped close, slipping his free hand around Drift's waist, pulling him in until Drift found himself flush against Ratchet's chest. "You put lunch together," Ratchet said, his out-cycled air a warm puff over Drift's face, "I'll grab the poles and tackle box."
Drift lifted his free hand and traced the tip of his index finger along the interior of one horn of Ratchet's chevroned crest. He opened his mouth to say something about how boring they'd gotten, then thought better of it—as much as he loved Rodimus, he really didn't need to sound like the guy anymore than he already did. Instead, Drift pressed a quick kiss against Ratchet's lips and chuckled as he said, "Lazy. Always taking the easy task."

2 questions oni. Would simpatico be Canon to ttb? Or do you have other ideas? Second, is getaway in this uni and is his Arc more like mtmte-ll or would it be a more nuanced take? Curious because ttb feels like it has a lot more nuance than idw1 did
1. They would be! Similar to Dratchet before the epiphany hit me however, I’m still figuring out how it’s going to play out/what the crux of it is.
2. He’s not ‘speaking’ to me right how (I’ll have moments where the character’s story/motivation gets a lot of clarity, and we’re not there yet), but with him I definitely want to explore the tragedy of someone built specifically for war, with no chance to understand what a world before it was like, self-sabotaging themselves and everyone around them because they cannot fathom their purpose/a world without it (This is an even bigger problem for MTOs than it is Cold Constructs because CCs are given time to develop, sometimes have community support and through a longer training process, problem-solve and react to sudden changes well. MTOs don’t have anything but their directives crammed into them over the space of a week, maybe two if they’re lucky, and a lot of them excel terrifyingly at what they do, but crash and burn if they have to address something they were not ‘programmed’ to do because they literally have nothing else to go on.)
I know he definitely looked up to Prime, a LOT and something happens about 3/4ths of the war that makes him feel like Prime betrayed him, which sets him off on this downward spiral, and I’ve just got to figure out what that trigger is. I think he and Prowl would have a very interesting relationship as they sort of share similar backgrounds, but end up developing wildly different mindsets when given agency.
Also bless, really this is all just being conceptualised for kicks in my free time, so that’s quite the compliment! Thank you eueb

How do you think TFA Dratchet would go down because I read an excellent fic where TFA Drift became an Autobot before meeting Ratchet but also Deadlock on Team Megatron sounds fun as hell and also Big Drift Little Ratchet
this has been a notification in my inbox all week because i've been too swamped at work to answer it but didn't want to forget it. Pretty sure I know the fic you're talking about, you caught my in the tide by spockandawe, it's one of my favorite TFA fics and I love its take. i also can't really picture drift as anything but a racer. that being said. big drift little ratchet. i'm not writing this you understand [shoves 20 other wips into the closet and leans against the door to hold it shut] but hey remember how ratchet was an infiltration agent along with arcee and that's how he met lockdown. please picture with me this torrid cat and mouse classic spy shenanigans affair back during The War where Deadlock kept running into this ambulance he had known before the Tyrest accord and flirting with him and doing that one arm wall lean intimidation that has a specific name over Ratchet and getting DELIGHTED when all it did was provoke wet cat outrage. I feel like a take that would allow for some tonal resonance between drift's defining IDW incarnation and TFA's everything would involve Deadlock still being a decepticon, coming back to see Megatron after his return after Deadlock has spent fifty years trying to hold this Decepticon empire together from the ground and taking a really long and hard look at how, exactly, everything works, and he's come back to ask Megatron hey, what the fuck are we doing? and really pushing for a redefinition of what it would MEAN to be an Autobot or a Decepticon or even break that barrier down entirely. this has nothing to do with him continuing his torrid affair with that ambulance, honest. he's going to do that no matter what happens. it's less cat and mouse now and more 'annoying cat sitting on a shelf knocking things off smugly while ratchet yells at him.' man in TFA Drift's involvement with the circle of light would probably translate to being affiliated with the cyberninjas, not sure yet how that would work but it could be a fascinating examination of were the cyberninja corps autobots after a division in the ranks where some of them wound up as decepticon affiliates and some as autobots is deadlock trained as a cyberninja and going 'undercover' under his old name to try and infiltrate for a better sense of autobot society now that they're actually trying to make integration work at his insistence or maybe he's doing this to build his case to go to megatron and-- [the straining closet door bursts open and i am buried in 20 other WIPs before I can turn this into an actual fic] I THINK IT WOULD GO DOWN IN A VERY FUN WAY HOWEVER YOU CHOOSE TO DO IT

tumblr please let me ask wooly for tfa ratch thoughts to cleanse their inbox please let m
First impression
haha boomer
(actually he might be the second tfa character i ever saw. after seeing a bunch of cute art of bee on my feed, i was ultimately convinced to watch the show bc of a clip Ratchet happened to be in. But i only cared abt bumblebee atm so he meant nothing to me </3,)
Impression now
GRAMPA I LOVEEE YOUUUUU
ratchet is probably one of the best written characters in the show tbh!!!! Idk if theres anything i want to change about him (especially since hes one of the bots that is actually critical of the autobots without being a decepticon)
hes simply a tough grampa with a soft tender heart!!!!!!! we love to see it <33 also his backstory is genuinely heart wrenching, definitely a tfa scene (before wasp was introduced) that got me more invested in the story
Favorite moment
I love his soft moments like the one where hes talking to sari in Lost and Found abt how he wants to leave because he make sure earth is safe (especially sari) is so 🥺😭😭
(Btw corey burtons voice acting just rlly sells the scene,,, i rlly cannot enjoy any other ratchets as much bc corey burton isnt there </3)
i also like how he's the one in Megatron Rising that's like "hey optimus?? ur being an asshole" like ur right and u should say it mr ratchet
Idea for a story
i dont have too much ideas for serious stories im afraid, just ratchet being happy
like i think ratchet babysitting the dinobots for prowl could be very cute!!
Or maybe ratchet simply taking all his kids (wreck-gar, omega supreme, etc) to the zoo
Unpopular opinion
i dont know if this is an unpopular opinion or not but i rlly like how the dents in ratchets face looks kinda like facial hair
Favorite relationship
love ratchcee,,, very sweet
dratchet is also very cute if i disregard the very small amount of details about canon tfa drift and make him a old ex-decepticon bot,, two old men holding hands <3
Favorite headcanon
Love how ratchet keeps adopting children all the time, epic father moment

Dratchet Party 2021 Day 3 - Old Bones
---
Ratchet couldn’t transform and he couldn’t run, so they walked. A fast walk, spurred on by Deadlock’s hypervigilant glances around the battlefield turned graveyard, but at a pace that meant they were still finding bodies as night started in. Even then, Ratchet tired quickly, slowed by his awkward gate and active repair systems until at last he had to tug on Deadlock’s arm, demanding they find shelter.
The surface of this planet was mostly flat, with the exception of small hills that erupted from the ground seemingly at random. Some were old enough to have rough cliffs shorn from the sides, and it was against one of these that the pair sheltered, Ratchet’s systems giving a pleased sigh as he finally took the weight off his leg. Nothing else about this situation was pleasurable, so he would take his joys where he could find them.
“Did you happen to grab any energon while you were rifling around back there?” he asked.
“There wasn’t any left.” Deadlock wasn’t sitting yet, standing with his arms crossed as he surveyed the landscape.
Nor surprising, but still disheartening. Ratchet could take self-repair offline, but he would still steadily burn through his reserves if they continued at the pace they had taken today. The emergency rations he kept in his kit were intended to tide a patient over on the way to surgery, not sustain a multi-day trek slash chase.
“Do you have any plan?”
Drift didn’t answer Ratchet, or even look at him. Ratchet laughed, a delirious, unhappy sound.
“We’re going to die out here.”
“Don’t—don’t say that!” Deadlock snapped, whirling on him. “You’re not going to die. You’re not.”
“I have no idea what’s going to happen to me,” Ratchet said. “Maybe if you would tell me anything about what’s going on, I’d rate my chances a little higher, but as it stands? I’m more likely to get picked by the Matrix than I am to get off this planet alive.”
It was a low blow in several ways, but it did the trick. Deadlock withered, the hostility draining from his frame as he came to crouch next to Ratchet. It wasn’t fair he could still move so gracefully when he had been trudging through the same dusty field as Ratchet all day, but he was willing to forgive it when he saw the exhausted dull glow of Deadlock’s optics up closer.
“This planet’s not uninhabited,” Deadlock said.
“Figured it wasn’t a naturally occurring bomb shelter I got thrown into.” Ratchet sat up a bit; he wouldn’t risk losing Deadlock’s attention by looking bored. “Your scanners missed them too?”
Deadlock leaned back and pulled his knees up to his chest. Ratchet wondered how many living people were left who had ever seen him like this.
“They’re not alive,” Deadlock said. “But they know they don’t like us. We’d been trying to find a way past their defenses when the Autobots blasted straight through. Wreckage figured you had already fought through them and that we could clean up the scraps.”
“You’re saying those weren’t your bombs?”
Deadlock shrugged. Ratchet understood: it didn’t make a difference. The two sides had been dropping all manner of violence on each other for millennia already. That combatants of both factions had ended up caught underneath was barely noteworthy either.
Ratchet pushed exhaust out his vents and turned his gaze to the sky, but it was still too early to see many stars. He had more questions, but none that would be wasted by putting them off until morning. He let himself slide down until he was relaxed against the outcrop and let his systems start to power down. He could feel Deadlock’s stare on him, roving down his frame. He waited. Slowly, the mechanism beside him uncoiled, stretching out until they were flush against each other and Deadlock could wrap himself securely around Ratchet.
This was a first for them. A bad idea, without a doubt, but Ratchet was too busy conserving fuel to come up with anything better.

could i have some sweet and fluffy dratchet perhaps? 👉👈
I legitimately suck at writing them and my brain isn't processing shit rn so this turned into dratchet x reader💀
Also i've been meaning to write dratchet x reader bc holy fuck.
Maybe we need you.
Dratchet x Reader
I used female pronouns here but they are easy enough to change!
________________________________
You sat at the bar as people spoke and music played.
This was supposed to be a happy place but all you could think about was how lonely you were.
The need to be in a relationship was there but the fear of getting hurt was overbearing. You had been put through hell while with the DJD.
You and your siblings were like any group of average humans and you kind of wanted it to stay that way but no. Whatever controled fate had something else in mind. They fucked you all up and turned you into Cybertronians. They even went as far as to hurt your nephew as well.
You scanned the room and your eyes landed on your brother and his fiance, a beautiful, young couple, who had an incredibly smart and beautiful son and were expecting again. Next to them sat the eldest of you and your siblings, your sister. A beautiful young woman who seemed to have it all figured out sat next to her boyfriend. An incredibly smart couple who seemed to be a match made in heaven. All seemed to be normal for them even though they were nothing but normal.
You went back to scanning the room and your eyes landed on Drift and Ratchet, I relatively new relationship but they also seemed to be a match made in heaven.
You always had feelings for them, not that you'd say anything. They were already together, and happy at that. You smiled gently as Drift looked over you. He began to wave you over and you gently declinded.
When you turned back to look at Drift you were surprised as the red and white mech was already more than halfway across the room. You could've sworn you had only looked at Swerve for a split second.
"Goddamn he moves quick."
You shot up to your feet and began to move to the other side of the bar as Drift got closer. You knew he wasn't gonna drop the topic that easily. You paniced as you jumped from the bar to a table and then shot over to where your siblings were.
They smiled as you arrived but quickly gave you a questioning glance as you slid under the table.
Drift quickly approached and stopped at the table you were at.
"Did you see where that crazy thing slipped off to?"
You could hear your brother choking back a laugh as Drift asked him that question. You could hear Drift leaving after a few minutes and thats when you decided to book it out of the loud room.
Darting down the massive halls you had to weave in and out of mechs legs and you had to make sure you didn't get stepped on but soon enough you made it to your habsuite. Punching in the code you made it inside just before Whirl came sliding around the corner to bother you.
You smiled as you flopped into your bed. Roling onto your back you whipped out your phone to see a missed call from Ratchet, and then three from Drift.
You chuckled remembering what you had just done and plugged your phone in. You walked towards your dresser and began to rummage through the drawers with little regard for what fell out and hit the floor.
A ping from your phone caught your attention and as you moved closer you realized who it was. It was Drift, of course it was.
"We're coming."
You threw on a pair of pajamas and flopped into bed just in time as the door opened.
"See I told you, she's asleep. Now lets go."
"I highly doubt that she's actually asleep Ratch. Even if she is, i'm gonna wake her up."
You began to panic into your pillow as you heard Drift approach. Your heartrate shot through the roof as Drift poked your back and Ratchet began to reprimand him.
You rolled over eventually and groaned when Drift smiled like a child on Christmas.
"We wanna talk to you about something important."
You groaned again asking if it could wait till morning. When you were scooped up out of bed you took it as a no.
You sat up in Drifts palm trying to readjust your eyes to the bright lights of the ship.
When you finally arrived at the shared room you fell back on Drifts hands.
"What did you want to talk about? Make it quick bc i'm about to passout."
Drift smiled down at you and Ratchet say down on the berth next to you.
Smiling up at him you noticed how hard he seemed to be focusing on you.
"We wanted to talk about your feelings."
The sentence shot a wave of fear uo your spine. Had they found out somehow? Had you told them some drunken night you don't remember.
"As you know Ratchet and I are sparked but, we have been debating adding a third person into our relationship."
"That third person being you" Ratchet interrupted.
You looked between the two a few times, searching for some proof of a lie hidden in their eyes. When you didn't find anything you looked down at your hands which was playing with your shirt.
"If you're not comfortable with the idea we understand though! You've been through a lot and we understand if your not ready to love another person, or two."
You finally looked back up at both of them with a smile.
"I think I'm ready."
At that simple sentence Drift was beaming and Ratchet might as well have been to.
Drift grabbed you and gave you a light peck on your forehead before gently tucking you underneath his chin, Ratchet laying down next to the red and white mech and placing a hand over your torso and pressing a kiss to his lovers cheek plate.

Ohhh the Dratchet thing is definitely a bold take, lol. To preface, I'm not a die hard Dratchet stan, but I am curious about your reasoning...
(You mentioned you were thinking about posting about it anyways, so I hope you don't mind explaining a bit more of your take here?)
I agree with you about IDW missing an opportunity to develop Drift more, but I think that applied to like... maybe 9/10 TF characters lmao. That said, I definitely disagree with him revolving around Ratchet.
I really hope this doesn't come off as condescending, it's impossible to convey tone over text—but how many of the IDW comics have you read? (Because if you're going off MTMTE alone, he's most assuredly Ratchet-focused, but MTMTE in general was sorta a bunch of different love stories.)
Outside of MTMTE, I think Spotlight: Drift did a pretty good job outlining his change of heart and new mindset/motivations. And I think All Hail Megatron (#15 in particular) did a fair job highlighting his other friendships. And none of that featured Ratchet at all...
Thoughts?
Yes, most TF characters are underdeveloped.
However, I expect more from characters who are part of the “main cast,” which JRo seems to have done with Drift.
As far as I know, I’ve read all of Drift’s major appearances, except in The Transformers (the ‘Chaos’ storyline).
I loved his development in his miniseries; that’s his peak as a character, in my opinion. I was devastated that his time with Wing was cut short.
As for his “friendships” being highlighted in AHM, they were just that—highlights. I can count on one hand the number of notable interactions he had with those “friends.”
To compare: In MTMTE & LL, even Nightbeat—a character I consider to be minor—had moments with Censere and Rung that were more memorable than what Drift got in AHM.
Drift has lost almost everyone he’s loved—either through death or drifting apart. (pun not intended)
Gasket was killed.
Wing was killed.
His potential friendship with Perceptor was never explored.
His friendly card games with Blurr were insignificant.
Pipes was killed.
Dai Atlas was killed.
Axe was killed
Rodimus drifted away.
His place in Megatron’s life was never explored. In any case, Megs was killed too.
Ratchet, Rodimus, and Wing were Drift’s most significant relationships over the course of his arc.
By the end of his story, all he had left was Ratchet, with whom he’d formed a codependent relationship, which happened to turn into something more.
So, except for that and a very dead Wing, none of his other relationships written did anything to enhance him as a character.
Whirl had Cyclonus and Tailgate.
Brainstorm had Perceptor and Nautica.
Nautica had Skids, Brainstorm, and Velocity.
Megatron had Ravage and Ultra Magnus.
Heck, even Swerve got Skids and Misfire.
In Drift’s story, every relationship was cut short until Ratchet was the “last man standing.” Of course he fell for him.
To me, Dratchet is somewhat of a last-resort relationship. Yes, it works. Yes, there’s love. However, there’s also a strong undercurrent of attachment and dare I say, defeat.
If any of the writers had done a better job of showing (1) how Drift’s other relationships shaped him and (2) how much he grew as an individual outside of relationships, I’d probably like Dratchet more. As it stands, I don’t fully trust Drift’s development near the end of MTMTE & LL, and I don’t find Dratchet very compelling.
Then again, I’m known to expect a lot when it comes to my blorbos. Maybe a bit too much.
(This is still a personal opinion piece. Nothing more; nothing less.)

Okay break time. What have we learned!
Well, the first time I read mtmte I had way less context. I had seen transformers prime but... That was it. The next tf thing I hopped on WAS mtmte. I didn't know who any of these fucking people were. I didn't know any context at all. So my impression of everything was pretty like- cut and dry! What I was told I took at face value. NOW though, oh god, now? Now I'm working with having seen almost all animated tf content (victory! Beast wars neo! Tfgo! I have CONSUMED the obscurities!) I've read eugenesis (like four times!) I've CONSUMED all of mtmte and so much more of idw, I've read a thousand tfwiki pages through, ive got so much goddamn useless transformers lore in my head! I can recite rewinds monologue from memory on command!
So. Different perspective.
Drift is such a different take now. First read through I took him at face value- like, of course I did! I had no reason not to! I literally had read nothing else from idw I did not know this man! So I accepted his constant praise of Rodimus, how much he needed validation from him as totally genuine, his demeanor and all- but on a reread it's so very clear how he is deeply faking his shit, both to try and keep people from distrusting him and also to sort of lie to himself about who he is. You can really tell.
Also damn rodimus is way meaner than I remembered. He's such a bastard sometimes Jesus.
Dratchet was always endgame this was deepseeded
Whirl. Hoof.
God remember when everyone just fucking hated chromedome and acted like he was a horrible terrible husband. Jesus I'm glad that's done and I don't see that shit anymore it was miserable
Pre war prowl maybe less of an asshole than I remembered. Maybe he genuinely did love chromedome at some point
Haha oh man Orion pax is fuckin gay for shockwave huh
Cyclonus is a big grumpy bitch and he LOVES bitchslapping people
Tailgate decided whirl was his friend for no good fucking reason before he'd even learned his actual name. He just. Looked at that big dumb helicopter and for absolutely no determinable reason decided he would just start inviting him to things. Boggles the mind. I love tailgate he is so fucking weird.
Man. I just don't like swerve that much. Even with swearth in mind like... I sympathize with swerve and I want him to have friends like I don't want him to be miserable. But he is like.... Legitimately really fucking mean to people sometimes. I know he seems to think that him being annoying or talking to much is his greatest character flaw but I would... Definitely say it's how utterly unkind he's willing to be. He straight up makes fun of Whirl's empurata, he makes a lot of really terrible jokes at other people's expense all the time and some of them really cross a line. Like... I want swerve to be happy and I want him to have friends but damn I don't want to be one of them

A, J, and O?
Indeed!!
A - Ships that you currently like a lot. (They don’t have to be OTPs because not everyone has OTPs.) Friendships, pairings, threesomes, etc. are allowed.
Oh lord, this is going to be harder than usual. Usually I hyperfocus on one fandom to the exclusion of most others, but I’ve been reading lately, plus a little transformers-adrift (i’m planning to reread soon and dig back in), but... let’s see.
Transformers: Starbladejack, always and forever. Vigilem/Caminus and Metrotitan/Chela, because I’ve been thinking wistfully about how much I adore Titans lately. Cygate, cywhirlgate, dratchet, megarod, cdrw(with optional prowl). Megatron/Ultra Magnus, Grimlock/Misfire. Blast Off/Cosmos, Blast Off/Swindle, Cosmos/Soundwave. I’ve been pining for Pharma/peace of mind, which I’m not sure he’ll find on his own, but I have VERY few people who would make a reasonable happy ship for him XD Wait wait, MEGATRON/PHARMA, how could I forget that one, there we go.
Other: Breq/Seivarden, Geralt/Jaskier/Yennefer, Simon/Baz, Grisaille/Ruthven, Alex/Henry, JON/MARTIN, Jon/Martin/Gerard. Murderbot/friendship. River/Moon, EVERYONE/Moon (literally. i have a fic idea), Gideon/Harrow. I’m trying to remember what books I’ve even read lately and am hella blanking for some reason. But I’m real easy, when it comes to ships. I’m an absolute sucker.
J - Name a fandom you didn’t think about until you saw it all over Tumblr. (You don’t have to care about it or follow it; it just has to be something that Tumblr made you aware of.)
Oh lord, Homestuck is the main culprit for sure. I was there minding my own business in ATLA, and I finally decided to see what this “home stuck” thing was all about, and came to myself again several years later. No ragrets, for sure, but that was the biggest t-boning of my life. The Magnus Archives is a more recent iteration. I never would have known anything about live action tv fandoms like dr who or merlin without tumblr, but I also never got involved with those. I was fairly uninvolved with the mcu before seeing people post about it on here, and now I’m... occasionally involved. Oh, The Witcher, that’s another one. I don’t keep up with much media on my own, so I kind of rely on tumblr to know anything that’s happening ever in the world of fiction :P
O - Choose a song at random. Which ship or character does it remind you of?
THIS is usually a hazardous time sink for me to invest myself in. But right now, I have a good song at hand. Emilie Autumn: One Foot in Front of the Other
youtube
And who this is?
How did I get myself into all of this mess? How did I end up with this deadly home address? How did I come to this, where every song I singIs nothing but a list of pain and suffering?
Well.
I used to have a home, now I don’t even have a nameI’m nothing but a number, here we are all the sameWe’ve lost so much, so many of those we love are deadHow do I get these memories out of my fucking head?
This is the magnus archives, babey. Parts of this song are very Jon and parts are very Martin, and some of them are tasty hints of other characters, but those are the two are the easiest matches. Especially, ESPECIALLY given that chorus. It feels so very appropriate for them. It’s a song I can match up to lots of my faves, but it’s hard to think about anyone but Jon and Martin just now

drift?
How I feel about this character
I haven’t read Transformers, Drift, or the Empire of Stone yet, so most of my opinions come from MTMTE. But I think Drift is cool and I love him a lot, but he generally makes bad decisions and has a martyr complex. He also lacks self-care, but is generally kind and caring toward his friends- sometimes even excessively- and I dig that he’s so kind. But I would hope that Ratchet smacked him on the head at least once.
All the people I ship romantically with this character
It should be noted that once characters have canon love interests only ships I have immediately have a side of polyamory which means that it’s always Drift, Ratchet, and someone else unless it’s pre-Dratchet.
Ratchet
Ratchet & Rodimus
Ratchet & Fulcrum
My non-romantic OTP for this character
Wing. I know almost nothing about the dude but listen the dude who befriended Deadlock has to be Cool.
My unpopular opinion about this character
I think this is unpopular but I think that Drift being questioning why Rodimus didn’t look for him (that happened and I’m not imagining it right?) was a bit... questionable, for me personally. Not how I’d like to phrase it but I’m not very eloquent with this opinion, in all honesty.
It’s not to say that it wasn’t a deserved reaction. Drift totally deserved to have a reaction of the sort, but Drift has to remember that he left. He’s the one who decided what was up. Drift was the one who took the blame of his own choice. Rodimus was going to originally. Was it good or healthy of Drift? No. And maybe Rodimus didn’t look for him, but with literally everything going on, can you blame him? Plus, there’s the underlying factor of intense guilt and later Megatron also taking command. There’s a lot of things to consider.
Neither Drift or Rodimus were really in the right in my opinion, though, so there’s that. It’s something that I really think is up to personal perception.
One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon.
I really think that I would have enjoyed Drift and the Scavengers interacting in an in depth way. Even if it was just a side conversation of something. I think they would have been chill with each other and maybe have had a fun adventure or two.
