Hi! You're by far my favorite writer for the man himself so I wanted to ask you.. can we plleeasse get a super sweet and passionate morning sex smutty-fluffer with Mr. Washington? Maybe the two of them had a stressful week at work/school or something and they decided to drive up to the lodge to escape by themselves for a long weekend together?? I'm on a massive Josh kick right now, there isn't enough love for him 😫😫

Another perfect place to answer two requests—I’m feeling accomplished! I love you all so much 💋
Also, this sucker is almost 3,000 words. I SWEAR I try to answer your prompts quickly on days like this, but sometimes, a story happens. Well, if this can even be considered a “story” 😆
* * * * *
Every year, Josh Washington hosted one hell of a summer-kick-off party at his parents’ lodge. He watched the weather like he was auditioning for a job on the local news, carefully choosing the warmest, clearest day. Despite the label of “summer,” the temperature in the Rockies at the lodge only ever flirted with anything near 75°F (23°C) yet Josh insisted, every year, that it was a “pool party” and that guests shouldn’t wear much more than a swimsuit.
At least that’s what your mutual friend, Chris, had explained to you.
It had been a stressful final month of school—exams, moving out of your dorm and back home with your parents, finding a summer job—so when Josh finally chose a date for the party, you requested the weekend off and offered to help him get things set up.
Josh eyed you suspiciously, considering that you and he had been engaged in a sort of “will they, won’t they” dance for the past few months. You were locked in a battle wondering if he just wanted to check you off his list as another notch in his bedpost, and he was wondering if you even liked him as more than a flirting buddy, considering you seemed to have quite a lot of those.
“You sure?”
“Totally!”
Josh took your phone and typed in the address for the lodge. “Can you come up Thursday? That way we have all day Friday to get ready.”
You nodded and plucked your phone out of his hand, but not before he tightened his grip, making you look up and smile at him as you tugged on it.
“Gimme. Or I won’t come up at all.”
Josh released his grip with his trademark grin before he schooled his features into a contortion of pain as he gripped his chest. “Call the medic! I’m wounded. My heart’s been plucked from my chest,” he exaggeratedly panted.
You tried to stifle your grin, knowing it only encouraged his antics, but how could you not smile at that adorable goof?
* * *
The drive up to the Washington Lodge was fantastic for your stress level—nothing but empty roads, gorgeous scenery, and all the cheesiest, upbeat pop music you could cram onto a playlist. When you finally parked your car behind Josh’s in the horseshoe driveway, you were humming the lyrics of the last song as you pulled your weekender bag from the backseat.
After you slammed the door shut and rounded the car, you looked up at the lodge and whistled.
“Jeee-sus.” You knew Josh’s folks were rich, but this was the kind of rich you had only ever seen on Instagram … or maybe on an episode of Keeping up with the Kardashians. It was so intimidating, it made you think twice about Josh.
He was just so … normal. Well, normal in a film-nerdy, goofball kinda way, but he never struck you as someone who grew up in a bubble of privilege.
It was close to 8:30 pm, but daylight still persisted and the pinkish sky lit up Josh’s face as he stepped onto the porch and looked down at you while you still stared open-mouthed at the lodge.
“Was the drive okay?”
“Uh, yeah. Yeah it was great,” you said as you shook your head and climbed the stairs. “Josh—this place is … insane.”
“You’ve never been here?”
You shook your head no.
Josh frowned and thought for a moment. “I guess I forgot we haven’t known each other that long. You sure feel like an old chum, lil buddy,” he said as he slung an arm around your shoulders and walked you into the house.
“Chum? ‘Lil’ buddy?” you said with amusement.
Josh cleared his throat and removed his arm, nervously running one hand through his freshly cut hair. “What else should I call you?”
You bit your lip and looked up at him, a small smile on your face. “Guess we’ll see, huh?”
Josh grinned, his face lighting up as his white teeth flashed, and butterflies unexpectedly danced in your stomach.
“Let me show you around.”
* * *
The house was just as impressive on the inside, and when Josh finally showed you his room, you flopped on his king-sized bed and begged him to never make you leave. He laughed and made you promise not to move a muscle as he dashed out of the room, returning in about 15 minutes with food, drinks, extra pillows, and a stack of DVDs tucked under his chin as he tried to balance it all. He kicked the door shut, nearly spilling a bowl of popcorn he had tucked under his arm.
“Now you’re my prisoner,” he attempted to declare, but given the comical way he was shuffling toward the bed, you could do nothing other than laugh.
As he deposited everything onto the comforter, you asked, “DVDs? Is there even a TV in here?”
“Au contraire, lil lady. Behold!”
Josh walked over to the wall and slid the wooden paneling open, revealing a huge flatscreen. “Ta-da!”
“I really could stay here forever,” you mumbled as you kicked off your shoes and scooted to the top of the bed.
“But don’t you think you’d be more comfortable in your PJs? Unless, of course, you sleep in the buff? And in that case, you would absolutely be more comfortable in your PJs,” Josh finished as he settled onto the bed next you, his elbow propping him up as he laid on his side to face you.
“If I came out of your bathroom naked, you wouldn’t even know what to do with yourself, Joshua Washington.”
“You’re right. I’d die of happiness,” he confirmed with a smile.
The room felt a lot hotter than it did a moment ago, so you sat up and looked down at Josh, his big green eyes bursting with affection.
“Let’s see how the night goes,” you promised with a sweet kiss to the tip of his nose.
* * *
As it turned out, the night passed chastely. You were a lot more tired than you had thought, and halfway through the first movie, your hand still sitting in the bowl of popcorn, you fell asleep.
When your breathing deepened and it became clear you weren’t going to wake up, Josh chuckled as he removed your hand from the bowl. He cleared off the bed and turned off the TV before snuggling into your side and quickly falling asleep.
Sunlight streaming through a huge window woke you up with a start. For a moment, you forgot where you were until you shifted under the weight of Josh’s arm. You smiled as you felt him stir, the arm wrapped around your waist tightening as he burrowed between your shoulder blades, probably trying to unconsciously hide from the sun.
Squinting, you shuffled out of bed and fiddled with the blinds until you figured out how to draw them. The room darkened to a greyish hue and Josh rolled over, seemingly still asleep. Since you were up, you went in to use the bathroom, and as you washed your hands in the sink, you looked at your reflection.
A slight blush colored your cheeks as you thought about how much you wanted to wake up like this again, preferably after figuring out if the big dick jokes the boys directed at Josh were because he actually was well-endowed or if they were just being idiots.
You had left your bag in here after changing last night, so you dug around for your toiletry case to retrieve your toothbrush.
After adjusting your tank top and sleep shorts, you gave your just-brushed hair a sexy tousle and glanced longingly at your lip gloss container.
“Too much,” you said with a dismissive shake of your head. You piled everything back into your bag, and exited the bathroom, hoping Josh was still asleep.
As you rounded the corner the bathroom was tucked into, you felt that familiar hot flush creep over your cheeks as you took in Josh’s form.
In your absence, he had sprawled out in the middle of the bed. He was on his stomach, his hands tucked under his pillow as he faced away from the window. His chocolatey-colored curls had lost their definition in the night and stood out against his light-grey pillowcase in a wild puff. The blankets were pushed down to his waist and the plain white t-shirt he had worn to bed was pushed up to his midback, exposing an expanse of light brown skin. His legs were spread, one foot sticking out from under the messy pile of blankets and you had to tamp down the temptation to see if he was ticklish.
You slid back into bed and settled on your side so you could face him. Tentatively, you reached out with your finger and ran it gently down his spine. His skin was smooth and the depression of his spine contrasted so deliciously with the strong muscles of his lower back that you wanted nothing more than to trace that indentation with your tongue.
Still touching him lightly, Josh stirred, his arms flexing as he stretched them before lifting his head and turning to look at you.
“Hi,” he said, his grin half-hidden by his bicep.
“Good morning.”
“Sorry. Forgot to pull the blind.”
“So you were awake?”
“Just waiting to see how much of me you’d touch if you thought I was asleep. Pervert,” Josh teased.
You opened your mouth in mock-offense and smacked his shoulder. “Rude.”
He chuckled and stretched again before he wriggled out from the blankets and stood, offering a mumbled, “Be right back,” as he made his way to the bathroom.
Josh wasn’t gone long, but it was long enough for your eyes to slip shut, a smile still on your face as you thought about him.
When you felt the bed dip, your eyes popped open.
“Sleepy girl?” Josh asked, his hand crawling under your tank top to rest on your bare stomach.
The heat radiating from his palm scorched through your body, a pool of arousal settling between your thighs.
“Not anymore,” you whispered as you looked at him, your eyes locked on his as you slid your hand along his arm, resting it on top of his.
Josh pulled his hand from beneath yours, off of your stomach and up to the side of your face. He cupped your cheek and slid closer, his body warm and connected with yours.
“Can I kiss you?”
In answer, you pulled him to you by the front of his shirt, causing both of you to softly sigh as your lips connected and began to move. You both tasted like the spearmint of Josh’s toothpaste, and when his tongue licked along the seam of your lips, you opened for him, the tips of your tongues touching before he dove into your mouth.
You kissed and kissed and kissed until you were both a panting mess, the blankets twisted around your legs, your once-sexily tasseled hair once again a mess, and Josh’s poof of curls even more wild than they had been against his pillow from you running your fingers through them, scraping across his scalp and around the back of his head.
Reaching for the bottom of his t-shirt, you tugged until he detached himself from your mouth so he could pull it the rest of the way off. You seized the momentary lull to push him onto his back, and as you sat up, you pulled off your tank top, Josh’s pupils dilating as he watched your breasts bounce.
Immediately, his hands reached for them, but you pulled back as you wiggled out of your shorts. Josh licked his lips and followed suit, pulling off his sleep pants. You glanced at the outline of his cock beneath his boxer-briefs and smirked.
“They weren’t just jokes,” you mused as you reached out and gripped him, pulling a mix between a moan and a chuckle from his throat.
It was your turn to control the kissing, so you straddled his hips and lowered your body to rest on top of his, once again relishing in the warmth of him and the masculine scent that seemed to be a mixture of expensive cologne and something that was just … Josh.
His hands roamed over your back and your backside, kneading and massaging as you kissed him—lips, jaw, neck, and when you sat up to catch your breath, he begged, “Ride me. Please.”
Again, that electric heat shot through your body and you knew your pussy was a mess for him. He reached up, finally able to wrap his big hands over your breasts, and you leaned back, grinding on his cock as he worked your nipples gently pulling on them before he leaned up to capture one in his mouth.
You shuddered as he sucked, his green eyes looking up at you, full of unabashed want and affection. He moved his mouth to your other nipple and you thought you might spontaneously combust if you didn’t slide his dick inside of your body within the next three breaths.
“Do we need protection? I’m on the pill.”
“Are you asking me if I’m a slut?” Josh said as he nuzzled between your breasts.
“Yes,” you answered, not caring if it sounded callous.
“I’m clean—and you?” he queried, laying back onto his pillows.
“Me too,” you answered before pulling down his underwear and moaning as you palmed his dick.
“Such a big boy,” you praised before looking up at him. “Tell me why we waited this long?”
“How about after we fuck?” Josh suggested, leaning up to tug at your panties.
With a huff of laughter, you slid your underwear off and returned to straddle him, sliding your soaking pussy lips over his cock until it glistened.
A whiny moan slid out from Josh as he watched and his strong hands reached up to grasp your hips and tilt them, the tip of his cock finally sliding inside your body. You adjusted the top half of him, sliding up and down a few times before taking him in all the way, both of you letting out a whoosh of breath once he was fully sheathed.
“Oh my god,” you groaned as your eyes rolled back at the sensation of his big cock. “Wow!”
Josh snorted and gave your ass a light smack.
“See what you were missin’ out on?”
“Mmm,” you hummed as you began to ride him, slowly and purposefully, not wanting your first time together to be over in a flash.
“You feel so fucking good,” Josh stated as his hands slid over your body. “So good.”
The rhythm you settled into was natural, even lazy, like you had been fucking for years. It felt so right, to be here with Josh, to feel him moving inside of you as you locked eyes, both of you shedding your protective layers and letting yourselves feel exposed, finally knowing that all each of you would see in return would be a sweet tenderness, the kind that could easily turn into love.
“Touch me,” you breathed, leaning back to rest your hands on his thighs so he could have full access to your clit.
Josh’s fingers immediately went to work, stimulating your swollen clit. The sweat blossoming across his brow in tandem with the flush of red settling over his chest told you he was trying his best not to come before you did.
“Come, Josh. Come for me,” you commanded as you clenched your inner walls around him and swirled your hips.
His thumb stuttered across your clit until he couldn’t do anything other than grasp your hips, his fingers digging into the flesh of your ass bruisingly as he cried out, his hot cum flooding your pussy while you rode him through his climax.
He looked beautiful as he came, his eyes widening before slamming shut as a series of gravelly groans fell from his parted lips.
Swallowing for breath and still hard inside of you, Josh flipped you onto your back and reached between your thighs, furiously working your clit until you came, clenching around his softening cock.
Josh said something to you, but you couldn’t hear him over the roar of blood in your ears. You shook your head and raised your hand, silently begging him to give you a minute.
Josh placed light kisses across the heated skin of your chest, before shifting slightly so his weight wasn’t crushing you.
“What was it you said?” you asked when you could finally form a sentence.
Josh looked into your face, smiling. “That good, huh?”
You giggled and smacked his shoulder, again. “That was not what you said.”
His face turned serious as he nodded, clearly building his resolved to repeat his spontaneous emission.
“Will you be my girlfriend? I … I don’t want this to just be a one-time thing.”
You were speechless as your eyes roamed his face, your mind wondering how you got so lucky.
“Yeah. I wanna be your girl, Josh.”
“Fuck yeah!” he yelled, rolling over and pumping his fist into the air before he pulled you back on top of him, his hands tangling in your hair to pull you down for a kiss.
You pulled away after a minute to ask, “Can we cancel the party? Just do this instead?”
“And miss a chance to see you prancing around in a swimsuit for hours, knowing I get to tear it off of you at the end of the night?”
Your body flushed with a familiar warmth as you grinned. “Guess I didn’t think about it like that.”
“I can’t wait to show you off,” Josh whispered against your lips, both of you smiling as you exchanged sweet kisses.

Everything goes wrong as they race against time to find one another.

Liam needs love, gentleness and attention, he hopes Zayn can provide it; all he wants is to fall in love and have his happily ever after.
9. #15: Modern magical AU- Liam buys a potion to see true love from his friend Zayn. He is surprised to find that his true love is Zayn! He returns several times to see Zayn and attempt to profess his love, but chickens out. Zayn is worried that his potion didn’t work, and that’s why Liam keeps returning to talk about it. He takes his potion making very seriously, even though he’s jealous of whoever Liam’s true love is.

However weeks into the war out in the cold climate in the middle of the night, he decides he will risk it all and run away. When he loses his way and accidentally ends up in the camp of their enemies he’s sure he will be killed on sight. But when he bumps into a soldier while trying to find his way out without anyone seeing him he gains a sliver of hope that he might live. What he doesn’t know yet is the soldier he bumped into is the commander and crown prince of the enemy kingdom who seems much more accepting and appreciative of magic. Things suddenly change and Zayn doesn’t leave the war all together but decides to join the other side.
12. #39: When Zayn was little he was obsessed with the idea that doors could lead to different realities. They never did. As he’s grown up he’s forgotten this as a childhood fantasy. Until he opens a door and steps into a world that is DEFINITELY not his own.
13. #26: Liam is a mermaid. Zayn is the fisherman who catches him in a net. Liam knows it’s a bad idea to get too close to humans, but just can’t stop thinking about him. Just friendship is fine, but if romantic: a mix of pining and friends to lovers. (Try to avoid “and then Zayn keeps him in a bathtub” if you can)
-Self Prompts-
1. Legend of Zelda-esque AU. Z is a prince from a lineage of (insanely) powerful wizards yet to awake his full powers. He’s more of a historian than a magician. L is Z’s childhood friend (not royalty). They are separated in their teens and reunite as adults. They go on a journey to save Z’s dad from an evil wizard. Friends to strangers to friends to lovers I suppose. With MAGIC.
2. Liam is an immortal angel type that helps humanity from the background. When strange and dangerous events start happening more frequently, Zayn, who works as a reporter. Finds himself involved in things he never thought possible.
3. Zayn is a sorcerer who is having trouble keeping an apprentice. He becomes desperate enough to hire Liam, a complete magic novice. Despite this, Liam turns out to be the best apprentice Zayn’s ever had. Except for one major problem: he’s exactly Zayn’s type. And everybody knows you never lay your hands on your apprentice, no matter how hot you think they are.
4. Bewitched AU where Zayn is a witch (Samantha) and Liam a mortal (Darrin) who remains blissfully unaware of Zayn’s big secret until their honeymoon!
5. When Liam finally builds up the courage to talk to the quiet regular at the cafe he works at to tell him he’s Customer of the Week, he hopes to learn what it is that keeps the man coming back every day. Maybe find out if he’s noticed Liam all these months too.  But the barista’s taken on a wild ride when he discovers that the humble patron isn’t just a comic book/graphic novel creator, he can enter his stories and experience them alongside his characters too.
6. When Liam moves into his new house, he decides to introduce himself to the neighbors. The next thing he knows, he’s tied to a chair and threatened by a small army of fairies.

Self Tober Prompt 21
Sweets
SF!Papyrus/Reader
Are any of these edited, you ask? No. I say.
Why? You ask. Because I’m lazy, I respond.
When the townhouse next door to your was put up for rent, you never expected monsters to move in. You lived and worked near the outskirts of the city where even seeing a monster was rare, let alone one moving in. Yet, here you were, living next to two skeleton monsters who you rarely saw. They kept immaculate care of the small front yard and decent sized back yard, they didn’t park their car in front of your garage like the previous tenants always did, nor did you hear any raucous sex happening.
That was the biggest downfall of living in a townhouse, it was a fairly decent size for you…but if the neighbours were loud you could hear everything. It sucked with your last neighbours but so far so good with the current ones.
The only downside was the fact that one of the skeletons smoked, and it was only then that you actually saw either of them. He’d sit on the back deck and smoke before heading back inside. The only time you saw him was when your window was open and you went to close it because the wind would shift and you could smell the smoke.
Still, you didn’t really mind them. They kept to themselves, you kept to yourself.
It had been almost six months since they moved in, and you were raking up the leaves in your small front yard so you could start decorating it for Halloween when you realized that the others in the small townhouse complex had differing opinions than you. The elderly couple who always stopped to chat with you no matter how much you really hated when people distracted you from your chores, came by again just as your neighbour stepped out to smoke on his front step.
They sneered at him before whispering to each other, but you had your headphones on so you couldn’t tell if they were truly being assholes to him. You kept your head down and continued to rake quietly, glad that there was no wind to neither blow the scent of smokes towards you nor steal away the leaves in your tiny pile. You paused, glancing over at the connected yard that was your neighbours. It was still covered with leaves….eh, might as well. You started to collect their leaves as well, you did it for your previous neighbours (mostly because they never, ever raked their yard and the leaves would mould under the snow and just make your allergies during snow melt horrible. (Their backyard was awful too for that.))
The old lady placed a hand on your arm, and you glanced up, swallowing back your irritation, before you removed your headphones. “Yeah?”
“What are you doing?” she asked quietly, eyes flickering over to the monster sitting on his front steps.
“…raking?” you said, biting back your sharp words that you wanted to say.
“For a monster?”
“Not…really doing it for them,” you said slowly, “I did this when my previous neighbours still lived here too…”
Her eyes narrowed over at the monster, “You shouldn’t do anything for their kind.”
Your eyebrows rose, “That’s pretty fucking racist.”
Her eyes widened comically, and then her husband blurted out, “Excuse me?”
You shrank slightly under his intense gaze, “What?”
“She’s not being racist-“
“I mean- she kind of is-“
“She’s telling the truth.”
You pursed your lips and then sighed, “Cool. Well, I’m going to continue raking.”
As you went to put your headphones back on the old man sneered at you. “Don’t you disrespect your elders like that!”
You drowned out his complaining with your head phones and merely went back to raking. Of course, your palms were sweating, and your heart was pounding heavily in your chest. Thankfully, the old couple moved on huffily and were well down the street by the time you glanced back over. With a sigh, you relaxed your grip on the rake and peacefully finished raking the small joint-front yard.
It was the next day that your doorbell rang after you got home, and when you peered through the peephole, your monster neighbour was standing on the other side. With a slight noise of confusion, you opened the door slightly and peered out. “Hello?”
“hey,” he greeted, shifting awkwardly. “uh…here,” he held up a bag from Muffet’s towards you, “for…raking our yard for us.”
Your eyebrow rose, but you opened the door a bit more. “Oh, you didn’t need to,” you insisted, peering up at him shyly. He was tall, and had two golden fangs that had cracks snaking out along his bones from where they were set. You hadn’t expected him to be this tall, and well with his large jacket and scars, he would’ve looked quite intimidating. If he wasn’t shifting awkwardly and holding out a bag of sweets to you.
“s’no big deal…” he murmured, offering the sweets again.
You hesitated, you were trying to eat healthier…but, you reached out shyly and accepted it. You peeked inside and saw there was a couple of donuts. “Oh, um…do you want…to share?” you offered, quietly, “I’m trying to cut back on my sugar.” He paused, and you gestured to the stairs.
He gave you a sweet, shy smile and nodded. You beamed back and quickly put on some slip on shoes and grabbed your sweater before slipping out of the house. The two of you sat down with some distance and quietly ate donuts together. Neither of you seemed to be big talkers, but he quietly commented on your nerdy sweater, and the two of you quickly found common ground in video games. Then you began talking about all the nerdy things the two of you enjoyed, and then he admitted he was an artist and you admitted you were a writer.
It was getting dark and you were beginning to feel the chill of a fall night, so you crinkled up the empty donut  bag and stood up.
“Thanks for the donuts, Rus,” you said with a smile, “That was very kind.”
“thanks for raking…kept me from having to do it,” he teased, much more comfortable with you now that the two of you had chatted away for a few hours.
“That’s just lazy,” you teased back and he simply smiled.
The two of you said your goodbyes and you headed back inside.
That wasn’t the first or last time that happened. Everytime you’d do something, such as rake up leaves, mow their share of the front law as well, or shovel the sidewalk in front of their house as well as your own, Papyrus would head over with some donuts or other sweets the next day and the two of you would chat on the front step. However, when it got cold, you invited him into your front living room instead of standing around in the freezing temperatures.
For your birthday, Rus surprised you with a gift and you were happily surprised. It was a sketch he had done of you one day when the two of you had been lounging in his backyard the previous summer. His brother had berated the two of you for being lazy for just soaking up the suns rays when you pointed out that you needed to get Vitamin D from sun exposure or your bones could become brittle when you were older. That had shut him up quickly.
It was…honestly, a beautiful portrait of you. It captured a soft, peaceful side of you that you never really pictured yourself as being. You’d always imagined other people saw you as awkward and tense because of how shy you were.
Rus had taken your awed silence as anything but what you meant it to be, and had started to panic. “ah…it’s…just…y’know…you were really pretty an…I just…but I mean if you don’t…like it? I got you something else…too?”
You snapped out of you stunned silence and quickly shook your head, clutching the small framed sketch, “This is awesome.”
“wha…no…really?” he said shyly, looking over at you in surprise.
“Yeah! No one has ever drawn me before,” you breathed out, “and! I’m…you made me look so pretty…”
“you are,” he said softly, and you blushed.
“I! Thank you?” you giggled, looking down at the sketch instead. “This…I love it.”
He seemed relieved by that and relaxed into your couch.
You completely forgot that he said he had a second gift for you as you got up and put the sketch near the front door so that you could see it when you left for work and got home. You just knew it would brighten your day when you saw that. Papyrus blushed and started saying that you didn’t need to put it near the front door.
“But then I won’t see it as often,” you pointed out, walking back over to the couch and sat down. “Thanks, Rus…you’re such a sweetheart.”
He laughed his dorky little laugh, blushing still. You smiled and turned to gather up the bits of wrapping paper that he had used on the frame. His bony hand reached out and stopped you.
“uh…my-my second gift,” he reached into his pocket and pulled out a piece of paper. You accepted it with a curious glance up at his face before reading the words on the paper.
Good for one free meal at Muffet’s (with Papyrus)
You giggled, before looking up at him with and said teasingly, “Are you asking me out on a date?”
“….yes?”
You paused, searching his face, “Wait…really?”
“………..no?”
There was a bit of nervousness in his features, and then you glanced back at the paper and then up at him.
Your heart leapt, “Are you?”
“……………………..yes?”
“Rus!” you said, exasperated, “My heart can’t handle you teasing like this.”
His grin grew slightly before falling again, “uh....i mean if you want it to be? i know we’re just friends n’shit but…..it’s just really easy to talk to you? and you don’t expect me to be anythin’ that i’m not…and my bro likes you….and like you’re really selfless?  plus we like a lot of the same stuff and you’re always encouragin’ me in a way that actually helps me do shit…and it’d be cool if we…yknow were friends n’datemates?”
Your mouth slowly fell open as he spoke, and when he finished, he was staring hard at the floor.
For a moment, you couldn’t form words.
It wasn’t that it was unexpected, it just…you thought all the signs that he was into you was just…you projecting your own feelings into his actions. As stupid as that thought seemed now. Him coming over so often, texting you memes and jokes, the two of you laying on the very couch you were sitting on now talking about deep shit. Lingering touches, hugging that last a moment longer than it normally would’ve, cuddling on the couch while watching movies.
Obviously the feeling was mutual…but you’d grown up being ridiculed for your crushes so now when someone did reciprocate you just got it in your head that it was actually you just thinking they had a crush back.
“Okay!” you blurted out, startling him.
“okay?” he repeated, unsure and nervous.
“Okay!” you repeated, unable to really get anything more than that, you waved the piece of paper at him. “I wanna be your friend and datemate too.”
He blinked. Once. Twice. Three times.
Then the sweetest smile ever stretched over his lips and he reached over, hesitantly, and stroked your cheek. They heated in response, but then you leaned forward and pressed your lips to his cheek bone softly. He let out a soft laugh, and nuzzled your face. You smiled warmly, and wrapped your arms around his neck as you peppered kisses all over his cute face. His laughter grew, and then he pulled you into his lap and was nuzzling your cheek with his teeth, and you were laughing and giggling in his grip.
To think, your friendship had started because he gave you some donuts after you raked up some leaves.
Thank god for small kindnesses….and sweets.

If Only You Could Ease My Mind (Branjie) - bitchimtiredpls
a/n  I saw a prompt on here a few days ago about 5+1 kisses and just had to come back for Branjie. Its been a few years since I’ve written and that was mostly Rajila and under a different name. I just wanna give the biggest thank you to Cat aka PinkGrapeFruit for helping me edit and just being amazing (and also alcohol for helping me write haha) I was so intimidated because she is an incredible writer and such a nice person for offering to help me xx
The first time it happened was unexpected. All of the queens were hanging out in Brooke’s hotel room since everyone had decided that from that day whoever won the main challenge was to host a little celebration. Having just finished filming episode one, they were all happy and enjoying letting loose a little after the stress of the first days of the competition.
Brooke was ecstatic because he won the first challenge. This had cemented himself as someone not to underestimate or fuck with. Admittedly he hoped that the others would see that in him the moment he walked into the werkroom for the first time. The Canadian anthem playing throughout the massive pink studio space was just the cherry on top of his perfectly fitted, sparkly red blazer and thigh-high gold boots.
Vanjie was just as happy at not repeating last years nightmare, something that had haunted her since the moment she walked backwards off the runway nearly a year prior. She was worried when Ru revealed that the first episode was another design challenge, but took everything she had learned on the show (and throughout the past year) and applied it. She made sure to have a clearly defined silhouette, while also keeping her style within the confines of what Valentina’s designated box afforded
He hadn’t meant for anything to happen, but sitting there on the small balcony with the smell of cigarettes and Vanjie enveloping his senses - Brooke couldn’t help but lean in. Staring into the shorter man’s cinnamon coloured eyes, he didn’t close his own until his lips met Vanjies. It was a soft kiss, lasting only a few seconds before he pulled away. However, those two seconds made enough of an impression that neither of them could stop thinking about it until the next time their lips met, only a couple days later. _______________________________
The second time he was a little more prepared. The queens were all gathered in Scarlet’s hotel room to celebrate the end of filming episode two. Raising up her glass, Silky paid tribute to Kahanna.
“Girl, she was fine as fuck and will be missed, but another bitch down and 12 more to go before I get my crown!”
All of the queens cackled at Silky’s ambitiousness (and thirst) over Kahanna. Each one of them gave a little bit of side-eye over her claim to win the competition.
After what happened at the last celebration, Brooke had made the decision to sit next to the petite Puerto-Rican but started to question himself as Vanjie got louder and louder the more she drank and the more excited she got. Once he realised that Silky was on the other side of Vanjie, Brooke really started to regret their seating arrangement. However, the moment that she put her much smaller hand on top of his, the regret dissipated immediately - leaving him content and able to stand the noise that the self-dubbed ‘Dream girls’ (consisting of Vanjie, Silky and A’Keria) were making.
As they all wound down and started to head back to their own rooms, Brooke decided to stop at Vanjies room. Fortunately, the younger queen was only a few doors down from his own room. Vanjie smiled at him, inviting him in with a roll of his eyes. Brushing his hand across her chest, Brooke walked into the hotel room and sat at the end of the queen sized bed that was situated in the middle of the floor. She noted that despite Vanjie’s prior fame and notoriety, she still got the same sized room as the rest of them.
Leaning down to tie his shoes (he noticed they had come undone on the short walk here), he heard the door close and the lock click into place. Glancing up, Brooke watched as Vanjie walked towards him. Her smile and heavy-lidded eyes promised more of the things to come. Smirking back, Brooke knew something was about to happen and couldn’t wait. He could feel the energy in the air like electricity, crackling all around them. One touch and there would be sparks flying. One kiss and their clothes went flying.
_______________________________
The third kiss wasn’t really their third kiss but going up to Vanjie in the middle of the workroom felt entirely natural to him. Like it was something he had been doing all his life. Something, he realised with a start - he wanted to do all of his life. If you asked him later on, this was the moment Brooke realised he wanted to be more than just a ‘summer fling’.  Something he wanted to be real.
“Hey, Papi.” He said as he wrapped his athletic arms around the smaller queen, placing a quick little peck on Vanjies smooth lips. Brooke just couldn’t help himself. It was the looks they had been sharing all day, little winks and touches on the van to the studio. The way they sat at lunchtime when the shitty food was handed out and how they looked at each other whenever they passed in the werkroom. It all made him long to touch him properly, the way that they had the previous night.
Brooke could see that she was surprised at his actions and he wondered briefly if she had wanted to keep them on the down-low for a while. The sweet smile that followed their short embrace reassured him that he had made the right decision. A brief spark ran down his spine at the lingering touch they shared. The feeling recurred throughout the day with every glance and soft conversation between them.
All the queens in the werkroom looked over at them throughout the day. Giving each other little smirks and looks of interest at the new development. They still thought that no one had clocked their longer than normal glances, touches and intense conversations yet. Although neither of them had really tried or meant for anything to happen, it sort of just did. No one was mad at the development.
______________________________
As the weeks wore on and the remaining pool of queens grew smaller, both Brooke and Vanjie made an agreement. If one of them were to be eliminated the other would not be upset and would not lose focus on the competition. So when Vanjie was eliminated in fifth place, leaving Brooke alone in the top four, he tried hard to seem like he wouldn’t miss her. To be honest, though, it really hurt.
It felt like they were breaking up in a relationship that wasn’t even fully formed. For the single, painful week that they were apart. Brooke felt like a piece of himself was missing and he absolutely hated that he felt like this. He wondered if he was the only one or if Vanjie missed him just as much.
They hadn’t really even said a proper goodbye, she just left with whispered promises to see each other and long meaningful kisses. Filled with thoughts about the future. Whispers of dates and waking up to each other, laying in bed all day just to be up all night. Vacations and meeting each other’s pets, Vanjie with her dog and Brooke with his cats. Going to each other’s drag shows and exploring their cities with each other as tour guides showing hidden spots they found, finding new cafes and restaurants together. Just being together. No competitions, no hiding in hotel rooms, just them.
Brooke Lynn was surprised to see a small and familiar body waiting for him in the lobby of the hotel. Admittedly, looking back on it later he really shouldn’t have been so shocked. The kiss that followed their long overdue hug wasn’t something Brooke wanted to ever forget and he wouldn’t for the longest time.
The intensity overwhelmed him. Pulling her against his chest he sighed into it. He whispered her name softly as he tightened his grip against Vanjie’s arms, making her moan into him. His tongue made his way across her lips, the gentle motion making her gasp. He took advantage of her lips opening and moved to explore the softness of her mouth with his tongue. As he went to remove it, Vanjie caught his tongue between her teeth, gently nipping it before letting go. Pressing his lips hard against her mouth he tried to convey all his feelings from the past week and he hoped to hell that she could interpret the way he felt about her. The way he’d needed her for that week that was agonizingly too long.
Staying in LA a week longer than he needed to was an easy decision. Being with Vanjie made him happier than he had ever felt and before that week was over he knew he loved her. He loved the loud, brash, adorable and unapologetically herself, Vanessa Vanjie Mateo. _______________________________
Vanjie had no idea that one small kiss with a handsome Canadian on a balcony of some hotel in Los Angeles, would ever lead to this day.
As they met at the end of the aisle, underneath a massive arch of beautiful daisies, peonies and vines, Vanjie couldn’t keep his eyes off the man standing in front of him. At 6’3 to his own 5’9 Vanjie had to crane his neck to look into Brooke’s perfectly blue eyes. The older man leaned his own head down to look at him, seemingly staring right into his soul.
Staring up at the older blonde, he had never felt so content, so happy, so at home. He knew that no matter what happened, they would have each other forever. Thinking about this made Vanjie begin to tear up. He tried to look down at his shoes in semi-embarrassment but he felt strong hands cup his cheeks, tilting his head back up to look at his almost husband.
Seeing Brooke mouth the words ‘I love you’ made the tears come faster and by the time he repeated the words after the chaplain, a lump had formed in his throat. It made his already comically husky voice even harsher. Vanjie didn’t care though. Those two words were the only thing that he cared about that day.
“Brock Hayhoe, do you take this man to be your lawfully wedded husband. To have and to hold, from this day forward, for better, for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health, until death do you part?”
“I do.”
“Jose Cancel, do you take this man to be your lawfully wedded husband. To have and to hold, from this day forward, for better, for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health, until death do you part?”
“I do"
Standing on his toes to reach his husband, Vanjie couldn’t help the gigantic grin that crossed his face. As Brooke leaned down to kiss him, a smile graced his face, just as big. Just as full of love. Vanjie truly felt, that out of all their kisses throughout the years, all of their kisses since that simple, soft kiss that started it all and of all the kisses to come. - This kiss would be his favourite.

Siege The Valentines 2019 Day 1
Blitz/Rook oneshot in which Rook would like to have sex and Blitz doesn’t. So they compromise and have sex. (Rating E, fluff/humour, explicit smut, some exhibitionism and semi-public sex, ~8.5k words)
Thank you so much to everyone at @dualrainbow for organising this event!! I’m thrilled to participate and look forward to everyone’s contributions :) Please follow @dualrainbow so you don’t miss a day and let writers know if you enjoyed their story! 💕
.
“You should’ve seen me, I drop kicked one of them down the stairs and actually made him do a flip, a bloody flip, I bet none of you have ever seen anyone do that, it was brilliant! Much cooler than the way I made five of them curse like all hell when I set off one of my babes, and that was already -”
“I think my favourite moment of yours was when you were currently telling me about how much you needed a piss, so much that you considered just dipping out for a second to do it in the middle of a mission and one of the blokes burst into the room. You shrieked like a child, my ears are still ringing.”
Smoke shoots Mute a glare when the younger Brit’s comment earns more laughs than his dramatic exaggeration of the events transpired earlier, but an arm casually slung around his waist placates him instantly. Blitz can only imagine how he feels in his lover’s half-embrace, pressed against a warm body and so obviously claimed in front of everyone – he’d bet it’s nice, has felt a similar sensation before, confidence and affection settling low in his stomach and weighing him down in a good way. A quick glance over to a certain Frenchman assures him that Rook is following a similar tale as well, eyes bright and mouth stretched into a rapt grin while he listens to Maestro. He’s almost cute like this, enthusiastically poses additional questions to allow the Italian to flesh out the story, and Blitz knows what it feels like to have all his attention.
Okay, he’s understating. Rook is adorable. If he could, he’d hug him right now and kiss the tip of his nose. Maybe tell him how happy his entire existence makes him.
“You’re the one babe I never have to set off, you do that all by yourself”, Smoke is grumbling now after Mute once more rained on his boisterous parade, prompting his boyfriend to laugh and his hold to tighten.
They’re loitering outside their hotel – since drinking alcohol in the lobby isn’t permitted, they’ve gathered here to share their post-mission hyperactivity. Their group must make for an intimidating picture, around twenty well-built men and women congregating, sharing cans of beer and raucous laughter, but as long as nobody chases them away, they’ll stay. There’s no alternative really: they’d go insane in their individual rooms, with some of them probably taking apart the furniture due to cabin fever, and going out isn’t preferred either. Because rarely anyone would understand the rush of having saved lives, and they want to ride the high for just a little longer. It won’t be long until exhaustion sets in.
Blitz can feel the tension slowly leaving his muscles but instead of rendering him immobile, it makes him giddy. He barely resisted the urge to join Finka in her spontaneously made up drinking game of having to take a sip whenever any of them curses in their mother tongue (and by now, she and various others are very tipsy) and it’s getting more and more difficult to not just run, tackle someone for a friendly wrestling match or try to scale a building – though the glass façade of their hotel would make this last one impossible without the proper equipment.
“Have I ever told you that you’re fucking awesome at your job?”, Ying addresses Hibana with a reverent expression which speaks not only of her admiration for the other woman but also of the fact that she’s by far the worst of them in holding her liquor.
“Only six times today”, the Japanese woman replies with a both flattered and amused grin. “You’re talking about me saving your life again earlier? It’s becoming a running joke at this point.”
Ying puffs herself up in front of her, almost like a small bird trying to seem more intimidating and stabs her in the collarbone with a finger to emphasise every word coming out of her mouth. “I. Love. Your. Controlled. Explosions.”
“Sounds like she’s setting off a controlled explosion in your panties”, Ash butts in drily and amid the chortles and chuckling, Blitz’ eyes meet Rook’s.
It’s a relatively mild night for the season but even the beers he had don’t really explain the sudden rush of heat overcoming him. Not for the first time does he realise just how gorgeous the other man really is with his dark curls and bright blue eyes, his physique oddly attractive even to someone who preferred softer curves all his life. It probably has to do with almost dying – death puts a lot of things into perspective. Cheeks hot, he offers a warm smile and nearly crushes the can in his hand when it’s reciprocated, so pleased is he, before averting his eyes again. He feels like an open book but would prefer for no one to read him right now.
Maybe he should drink some water to clear his mind a little, guide his restless state towards something more productive. He’s got some bottled water in his hotel room, so he excuses himself from no one in particular as everyone is currently cheering on either Ash or Hibana in their battle of wits while Ying seems a tad confused with the entirety of the universe.
The moon is mirrored in the spottily illuminated glass front of the building and Blitz is so mesmerised by it that he only notices he’s gained a companion when he enters the lobby and Rook slips in with him.
“What are you doing?”, the young man wants to know cheerfully and seems barely capable of containing his excess energy.
“Getting some water. I hate travelling with a hangover and we’re leaving tomorrow.”
“I’ll come with!” The announcement is followed by Rook dancing alongside him, basically running laps around him and bouncing in place as they wait for the elevator. More than ever he reminds Blitz of a puppy. “Did you hear what Maestro said? Apparently Lesion lost the bet with James and now he has to get an undercut, can you imagine how silly he’s going to look, probably almost as bad as the time Gus had to -”
His chatter lulls Blitz in who’s more than happy to let Rook do the talking and simply indulge him, but he was not at all prepared for the tongue which pries his lips open and shoves its way into his mouth as soon as the elevator doors close behind them. He makes a surprised noise and stumbles back yet Rook merely follows him, presses their bodies together and continues ravishing him. Having no other choice, Blitz succumbs and kisses back tentatively, smiling at the desperate sound he earns in return and putting his arms around his lover.
Rook is a needy disaster whenever he feels he’s been neglected for too long and so it’s no surprise when he mumbles: “I haven’t kissed you all day.” His pout is audible but at least he detaches when they arrive on Blitz’ floor, trailing after him with a whine.
“Well, we had a few situations to de-escalate”, Blitz reminds him gently while unlocking his door. “If you want, we can cuddle a bit before going to bed, but you’re sleeping in your own room.” Rook perks up at this and were he really a dog, he’d probably wag his tail at Mach 3 right now. As expected. “That’s not a euphemism. I’ll be too tired for anything else.”
And here comes the ear droop – also as expected. “But -”
He feels bad. He really does, he hates disappointing people and disappointing Rook even more and he’d be lying if he claimed the quick and dirty kiss in the elevator had no effect on him, but… there’s other issues. Unaddressed ones, entirely his own fault, he knows this, and yet he couldn’t bring himself to raise the topic yet. “Come on in and we can make out for now”, he suggests instead and Rook is immediately full of life again.
The room itself is remarkably pleasant even if cramped, the carpet fluffy, the bed just the right kind of hard and the floor to ceiling windows a nice touch. Blitz turns the light on, gives Rook a peck on the lips to appease him for the moment and draws the heavy curtains closed before rummaging around in his backpack for his sparkling water. Rustling behind him causes him to turn around curiously and he’s faced with -
“Julien!”
Rook pauses uncertainly, blinking at him like someone who got caught doing something forbidden yet not sure what exactly. He’s half way in taking off his shirt while his trousers are unbuttoned already, his shoes kicked off to the side and his toes trying to find purchase on the hem of his trouser leg so he can pull it off as well. If his intent hadn’t been crystal clear, he’d look comical. “Is this not what we’re doing?”, he wants to know, sheepish, and once more reminds Blitz of a dog – only this time a mindlessly horny one.
“Making out also wasn’t a euphemism”, he stresses firmly and he knows this look all too well, has received it several times after dates and in the morning and even at work but … he can’t. He can’t give in, no matter how much it pains him to turn down these wide, dejected eyes.
“It’s been so lonnng”, Rook whines and shuffles over to him, listlessly throwing his arms around Blitz and crowding him against the nearest wall. A quick look confirms that yes, there’s no gap in the curtains meaning none of their colleagues still outside can see them, so Blitz relaxes and pulls his boyfriend close to him, finally enjoying a hug that, while being slightly uncomfortable due to the arms digging into his back, feels utterly wonderful. “And you’re always so handsome, it’s not fair. Your helmet hair is cute and when you’re being modest it’s adorable and you know I love it when you drink out of a can wrong.”
The ticklish words grumbled against the exposed skin on the side of his neck make him laugh softly and card his hand through Rook’s silky hair. “You know there’s no wrong way to drink out of a can?”
“There is. And you’ve perfected it just to taunt me. Have I told you that these jeans make your ass look amazing?”
It’s good that Rook can’t see his reddening face – Blitz is weak to heartfelt compliments and he knows he can take Rook’s seriously. “You’re really pent up at this point, hm?” Another pleading whine is enough of an answer. “I can just… take care of you, how about that?”
To his genuine astonishment, Rook declines. “I want to make you feel good too, mon cœur, or else it’s no fun.” He does belatedly accept the offer of making out, however, simply presses their lips together and purrs against Blitz’ mouth. He gives in without hesitation, always does so when they’re alone, whether it’s early in the morning, amidst frantic preparations to go to work, during a film they’re watching or as a prolonged good night kiss. Rook thoroughly enjoys kissing in all circumstances and is slowly winning Blitz over as well, not only with his eagerness but also because he’s excellent at it.
Rook does the thing which always makes his toes curl and he can feel himself melting into the devoted ministrations speaking of an affection he reciprocates wholeheartedly. He’s gotten worryingly attached to this man in a relatively short amount of time, willingly allowed him into his life and doesn’t even object to spending most of their nights together – but there are still some obstacles in the way, moments during which one of them is left staring blankly or unsure of what to say, awkward situations and slight hurt, often mutual. All in all it’s considerably less rocky than most of Blitz’ previous relationships or attempts thereof, and still he’s painfully aware it’s far from perfect. He doesn’t mind though, they’re both putting in the effort to make it work and it shows.
The beer he drank is only a very small part of the reason why Blitz enthusiastically toys with Rook’s tongue as soon as it becomes available: he’s missed this too. Letting himself go isn’t something he’s done often but Rook coaxes him out of his shell with loving touches, understanding reassurances and very uncharacteristic patience every time. The longer they kiss, the steamier it gets, and he really should’ve seen this coming. Rook has… a remarkable libido, as he’s come to realise, and it’s much too easy to allow him to take the lead, especially since he always ensures Blitz gets whatever his heart (or rather his crotch) desires, and why has Blitz been this reluctant again?
He’s drawing a blank now, the wet sounds of their sloppy making out just as distracting as the way Rook subtly grinds against him, full of hope and need. The Frenchman is groaning into Blitz’ mouth, running his tongue over his teeth and simultaneously massaging his ass, always moving, almost writhing against him while he systematically takes apart all of Blitz’ composure. It’s only a kiss, yes, but what a kiss it is – dizzying, with no opportunity to breathe freely, a merciless onslaught of sensation and Blitz feels like he’s seventeen again, snogging his crush for the very first time. His knees are getting weak, his eyelids heavy enough so he never wants to lift them again, and more and more of his focus wanders to his lower half, this one place where he’d like to feel all of Rook, preferably right now.
They’re not even undressed. Rook hasn’t even said anything, and Blitz already is as flustered as if he had three fingers inside and it really has been a while, hasn’t it? It’s not his lack of desire for his boyfriend which held him back, not at all, if anything he’s been exceedingly tense and trying not to keep glancing at Rook whenever he was working out or smiling or having unruly hair or really just there, and this definitely isn’t helping. He’s thinking about it now, Rook over, under, behind, inside him, and he loves it all.
Rook knows what he’s doing, knows how susceptible Blitz is to his kisses and so he’s made use of them as a distraction to sneak his hands under Blitz’ shirt, running them over heated skin as he slowly nibbles and sucks and licks Blitz’ inhibitions out of him. And then, suddenly, he rolls one of his nipples between gentle fingertips. The unexpected spike of pleasure is too much, entirely too much, and Blitz can’t help but moan, just allow this loud noise to escape his throat as if it had any justifiable reason to exist, and simultaneously panics.
“No”, he whispers and twists away from the offending hand, “stop, stop.”
Immediately, Rook pauses and withdraws a little, the troubled look on his face only increasing Blitz’ guilt. “I’m sorry. Is everything alright?”
“Yes, but give me a minute. Okay?” His words come slow, his mind still trying to catch up. Rook nods, visibly trying hard not to let his disappointment show, and rests his forehead on Blitz’ shoulder, pants softly against his collarbone and keeps holding him close. He’s given away by movement further down, his prominent erection straining against his underwear in the exposed triangle between the hem of his t-shirt and his open zip. It’s -
It looks really inviting. It looks like something Blitz needs to touch or even lick and holding back is surprisingly difficult. He pictures himself sinking to his knees and taking care of it, guiding Rook’s tentative thrusts and yes, he could do that, it’d be fine as long as he doesn’t touch himself which is getting harder by the second, pun fully intended.
“Do you want me to -” He kisses soft hair and brushes his knuckles over the rigid shaft, earning a gasp and another twitch. “I can just satisfy you. That’d be okay.”
The aqua blue eyes directed at him are full of defeat. “Why not more, mon cœur? We have the time, and we don’t need to do anything exhausting. Am I doing something wrong? Don’t you like having sex with me anymore?”
Blitz feels his face warming up once more. “It’s the opposite, rather. That’s the problem.” He would prefer not to talk about it at all until he’s found a solution by himself but he supposes he owes Rook at least this much.
Only it looks that all he’s doing for right now is thoroughly confusing him. “You like it too much? What do you mean?”
The words don’t really want to come out right, warped by insecurity and self-consciousness. “It’s… embarrassing.”
“What is?” Rook has momentarily forgotten about their state, tilting his head inquisitively and hell-bent on making Blitz spell it out for him, apparently.
“When we – you know, then I’m…” He makes a meaningful pause, hoping that Rook gets it on his own, but is merely met with more bewilderment. He must be crimson by now. “I’m too loud. Okay? I’m just – it’s awkward. I can’t hold back and I don’t like it.”
Astonishment morphs into complete and utter lack of understanding. “What?”
“It’s embarrassing”, he reiterates to really drive the point home but it seems that this isn’t where Rook’s mind is refusing to cooperate.
“It’s incredibly hot!”, his lover shoots back with passion. “No, really, you have no idea how much it turns me on, I love it. Please don’t even try to hold yourself back, it’s my favourite thing.”
Oh.
“But you’re much quieter.”
“Yeah, so I can hear you better.”
Oh. Blitz ponders this new revelation. He supposes that Rook does indeed let himself go if it’s only him being stimulated, yes, now that he thinks about it. “I just thought it wouldn’t -”
“Wait, is that the reason you didn’t want to have sex recently?” Oops. And there it is.
Sheepishly, he replies: “Maybe?”
“So I didn’t do anything wrong? You still want me to sleep with me? You were just embarrassed because you moaned during sex?”
“Well, when you put it like that, it sounds silly”, Blitz protests weakly but ultimately, he has no leg to stand on. Quite literally, too, because Rook wordlessly picks him up and carries him until the mattress digs into the back of his knees.
“You have no idea how relieved I am”, Rook murmurs into the side of his neck and Blitz belatedly realises that the questions he posed weren’t rhetorical but genuine, he did want to make sure there wasn’t another unaddressed issue between them holding Blitz back. “And how pissed off.”
That’s fair, Blitz thinks. He’s still not wholly comfortable with the idea of giving himself up like this, of allowing Rook to assume total control over his body but he trusts him nonetheless. Knowing that Rook doesn’t mind, quite the opposite, is a reassurance he apparently needed, and so he wraps himself around his boyfriend and mumbles an apology.
“It’s alright, mon cœur, but if you hold yourself back now, I’m gonna fuck you so slowly you’ll end up begging.” And before he can react to this announcement in any way, Rook has shoved him onto the bed already, crawling on top of him and once again claiming his mouth, only this time the goal doesn’t seem to be seducing Blitz but rather silencing him – now that Rook knows there’s technically nothing speaking against them having sex, he’ll be unrelenting.
His mouth is merciless and so are his hands, roaming Blitz’ torso freely, rubbing him into a pleasant daze and lulling him into a false sense of security because it doesn’t stop, none of it, neither the deep kisses nor the fingertips digging into his skin and when Rook rolls his hips against his, he’s surprised at how hard both of them are nonetheless. They move up on the bed, stretching out on it while Rook suckles on his lower lip contentedly, fumbling with Blitz’ buttons.
“Shouldn’t we go back?”, Blitz gasps. “The others -”
It’s a weak excuse and both of them know it, he’s actually amazed Rook even graces him with a reply. “- won’t care, if they even notice at all. Gilles and Dom disappeared a while ago too and no one wondered about them.”
They’re definitely not doing anything like this though, Blitz wants to object but groans instead when a hand dives into his briefs and wraps around his erection. He’s momentarily stunned by how fantastic it feels to have someone else’s hand on his dick, lazily stroking up and down and squeezing the head lightly, prompting another strangled noise from him. The fierce pleasure rushes through him and erodes his sanity in a very familiar way – if he’s going to stop this at all, he has to do it soon.
“I don’t have any lube here”, he pants, desperate and his self-control waning.
The fond, adoring look this earns him makes it brilliantly clear that there really is no escape. “Mon cœur, you can’t honestly think I’d ever be unprepared for spontaneous sex”, Rook tells him gently and pulls a small bottle out of his pocket triumphantly. “Take your clothes off, will you?”
And Blitz admits defeat. He does want this, painfully so, but cringes whenever he lets out a sound he deems too loud regardless. And for some reason he has the impression that Rook is going to enjoy teasing him immensely.
Following Rook’s order turns out more complicated than he thought because the Frenchman chases after every piece of clothing with his lips, peppers any newly exposed skin with ticklish kisses and makes Blitz giggle in the process. Unlike Rook’s previously almost frantic displays of affection, he’s much more playful now, bites at Blitz’ calves until he threatens to throw him off the bed and sucks dark red marks onto his thighs. It’s oddly calming, the uncomfortable tension between them has dissipated and given way to mutual desire and passion which is a relief to Blitz also – he hates nothing more than disappointing people, and repeatedly worming his way out of something he genuinely enjoys were it not for that Small Detail wasn’t easy. Rook really must’ve worried.
“Can I make it up to you somehow?”, he offers while helping his lover out of his clothes, feeling his muscles and strong legs while doing so. He can’t help but admire his body – he’s beautiful with and without clothes, only he doesn’t get to see him naked nearly enough. Their hard work and training indubitably pays off and Rook is the best example with the pronounced muscles adorning him.
“You can moan like a whore for me”, the younger man supplies cheerfully.
“Julien.”
“Have I ever told you that you sound like my old teacher when you do that?” He catches sight of Blitz’ horrified expression and hurries to amend: “No, don’t worry, I like it. You don’t need to stop doing it.”
“You know, somehow that doesn’t make it any better.” Rook chuckles in response while ridding himself of his socks and then takes his usual place between Blitz’ spread legs, beaming at him expectantly. “Isn’t there anything else you’d like to do?” The question is dangerous. He made the mistake of granting Rook a blank cheque before and ended up sobbing into a pillow as he came so hard he got some in his hair, but right now they’re coming down after a tense mission, they don’t have all evening and Rook is missing most of his ‘equipment’ anyway. What’s the worst that could happen?
Rook contemplates the offer for a moment while touching Blitz’ stiff member, massaging the tip gently, then his scrotum, then even further down. It’s distracting despite its absent-minded nature and he finds himself lifting one of his legs to grant better access already. Noticing the subconscious gesture, Rook shoots him a smile and presses against his perineum, repeating the gesture when Blitz bites his lip at the pleasant sensation. “I’d like a certain position and a certain location. Here in this room though, don’t worry.”
Sounds easy enough. If he’s honest, it sounds entirely too easy, but gift horses and so on. Maybe Rook is happy with a little bit of experimentation, and besides, even if he wants to do something like bending Blitz over the desk, it’ll be fine. More than fine. Maybe… maybe he should bring up this suggestion himself at a later point in time. “Alright. I’m okay with that.”
“You’re the best”, Rook announces, full of giddy anticipation, and leans down to engulf the head of Blitz’ cock with his lips.
The sudden gesture makes him jump first and inhale sharply second, not expecting to be encased in moist heat this abruptly, but adapting to it is made easy by a skilled tongue swiping over sensitive flesh. Reflexive protest turns into a content sigh as Rook demonstrates exactly why Blitz allowed him to do this very thing to him at work once – no one cared what they were doing anyway, they were both bored and Rook side-eyed him and the rest is pretty messy history. The Frenchman is not only ridiculously skilled at this though, no, it’s also made better by the mischievous twinkle in his eyes whenever he gazes up to Blitz as well as the brown mane he can hold on to.
He’s serious from the start, allowing the glans to glide over his lips a few times as he bobs his head shallowly, then swallows more, goes deeper with each motion, sucking hard on every upwards pull. Within seconds, Blitz is reduced to a panting mess over the unforgiving stimulation, digging his one heel into the mattress and flexing his toes on both feet, almost shying away from the intense feeling. His breathing turns ragged, irregular, as he alternates between squeezing his eyes shut to focus on the lips tight around him and raptly watching Rook slide up and down like a true professional.
It only gets worse once his lover has snapped the cap open and poured some of the lube he inexplicably carried around with him onto his fingers, because he very practically-oriented doesn’t waste any time before pushing one of them into Blitz and that’s the moment he has to slap a hand over his mouth. Because if he thought Rook couldn’t be any more ruthless, he’s sorely disappointed when a fingertip rubs directly over his sweet spot.
Rook is very versatile concerning a lot of things, not only at work – he adapts easily to those around him and seems to fit in anywhere, and even in bed he’s eager to switch things up now and then, go with the flow, read Blitz’ mood and act accordingly. They’ve had evenings filled with languid kisses, almost lazy orgasms and copious amounts of cuddling, just like they had moments where everything was over and done with in less than five minutes. Right now, Blitz is still vaguely weightless from their earlier collective success and, now that they’ve at least acknowledged his issue, ready for a slow and thorough session.
Unlike Rook. Very unlike Rook, if how he’s currently sucking the life out of Blitz while abusing his prostate in the most wonderful way is any indication. He feels even more vulnerable now, being invaded by a slippery digit and trying to relax into the sensation, yet need is pulling his body taut and hindering him. Having Rook inside him still hasn’t lost its magic, especially not when he’s paying close attention to Blitz’ reactions as he is now, crooking his finger over and over as if he’s beckoning him to come, motioning for him to come closer and closer – and that’s exactly what Blitz is doing, still not allowing himself to make a noise but quickly running out of oxygen.
Distractedly, he notices that he’s almost lifting off the mattress due to the need thrumming through him and, abruptly, it hits him that he really is about to climax. Panicked, he pushes Rook away, nearly tripping over the edge when his cock is released with a wet pop, and is instantly rewarded with a half-lidded gaze and lips shining with spit. Breathing heavily, he gasps: “No more. I’m – I’m almost there.”
There’s an almost malicious glint in Rook’s eyes now. “Try not to come then, I’ll be fucking you regardless”, he responds, quite obviously feeling vengeful and deservedly so. Blitz opens his mouth in protest but merely draws a deep breath when a second finger joins the first, stretching him in preparation. Sinking back into the sheets, he accepts his fate which, admittedly, is more than bearable. He enjoys this part anyway, not only because Rook does but also because his lover, as with many things in this domain, is exceedingly skilful. Despite expecting it to, being entered never hurt and Blitz knows better than to take any credit for it.
Impatiently, he pushes against the fingers, grinds into them and hums at every shock of want hitting him out of nowhere. Without the added stimulation to his dick, it’s manageable, his mind blissfully empty and a dreamy smile on his face as he drifts away on the ebb and flow and then – then Rook swallows him again. Just the head for now, but it doesn’t matter because it feels divine and fantastic and holy shit what is he even doing; Blitz forgets how to breathe for a second, catapulted right back to the edge with how hard Rook is sucking but doesn’t tip over, teeters and looms but doesn’t fall.
It takes him a few moments before he can identify this heavenly sensation: Rook is tonguing the underside of the head, directly over one of Blitz’ most sensitive spots – as he very well knows. Apart from that, he’s not moving, simply rubbing over it again and again, just like with his prostate and it’s obvious what he wants to achieve at this point. But Blitz isn’t giving in. No matter how fucking magnificent it feels, he refuses to let out more than minuscule whimpers, even if Rook keeps this up… which he can, without much effort really. And actually does.
Blitz ends up trembling, trapped between an insistent tongue and deft fingers, both of which have his own hands twitching and overwhelming want taking priority over all. He’s extremely close to just getting rid of the brunet between his legs and jerking himself off but this, too, would be admitting defeat – so he endures, eyes watering, teeth clenched, abs tensing. And Rook seems to be having the time of his life. Even more so when he reaches up, his free hand slowly gliding over Blitz’ hips, his ribs, towards -
All he can do is watch in horror as fingers slowly close on his nipple but something for which he was even less prepared is Rook swallowing him whole as soon as he pinches, and the throaty moan that follows couldn’t have been held back no matter what. “My love”, Blitz whines and hears another strangled noise leave his lips while Rook makes sure he hits the back of his throat on every bob, “please, don’t – Julien – I’m so close. Oh God.” It’s too much, Rook is scissoring his fingers now, pinching harder, moving faster, and he really is just about to orgasm, he can taste it, the tingling starting in his crotch and working its way outwards to his limbs…
And Rook stops again. This time, he ceases all stimulation, withdraws both hands, sits up and licks his lips with a satisfied grin. The air is cool on wet skin and Blitz feels himself throb, feels his hole pulse and has to make an effort to see straight. If, in certain moments, his lover feels a fraction of the ferocious desire currently tugging at Blitz’ limbs, he can’t blame him for being perpetually aroused. Rook is a God and Blitz wants to worship him the only way his brain is allowing him to consider right now.
“Come on”, he pleads quietly, reaching for his boyfriend, “come on, Julien, don’t make me wait.”
The impish smirk transforms into a devoted smile and Rook leans down for a tender but quick kiss. He’s not unaffected, as his rock hard erection betrays him, but he’s certainly more composed than Blitz. “I love you”, he murmurs against his lips before climbing off the mattress, holding out a hand. “Get up. We’re doing it while standing.”
Easier said than done, his legs probably don’t feel like rubber. Blitz crawls to the edge of the mattress and lets Rook help him up, then sways unsteadily in place, much to his boyfriend’s amusement. His lower half is still throbbing viciously, demanding release or at the very least more stimulation, and coherent thought is nigh impossible in this state. Uncomprehending, he watches as Rook turns off the light and then fumbles his way to the large windows, drawing the curtains back and letting pale moonlight in.
“Come here”, he says with a grin and Blitz understands.
“Julien.”
“They can’t see you like this.”
“Julien, no.”
“You promised.”
He did promise. Not explicitly, but he agreed to Rook’s terms and this is apparently what they are: fucking him against a full length window. He should’ve noticed this loophole and is grateful that he at least killed the lights or else all their colleagues outside would’ve gotten mooned by Rook’s really quite marvellous ass. He thinks about it. The façade is dark enough, he certainly couldn’t look into any of the darkened rooms.
As he approaches, face burning, Rook’s outstretched arm curls around his midsection and creates a protective barrier between Blitz’ body and the cool glass in front of him. He’s manoeuvred between Rook and the window, facing the outside, and forces himself not to look down at all the people he knows, instead focuses on Rook pressing himself against his back and kissing his shoulder, heavy erection slipping between his cheeks and rubbing over his quivering ring of muscle which is more than ready to receive it.
“I’ve always wanted to do this”, Rook divulges with a chuckle. “It’s going to be so hot when you shoot against the window, mon cœur.”
None of what he’s saying helps to put Blitz at ease but since his body is still in horny mode, he’s incapable of refusing Rook anything. “This is terrible”, he states and flinches when the tip of his dick touches the cold surface, shoves his hips against Rook’s.
“Just relax. And remember that no one can see you.” In the second it takes Rook to lube up his own cock, Blitz contemplates his life choices but gets rudely interrupted when Rook pushes his legs apart a little further. Knowing what’s about to happen, Blitz shuts his eyes so all his attention is concentrated on the glorious sensation of Rook entering him from behind – the first stretch is mind-numbing and feels endless, but once the head has slipped in, it’s just a matter of filling up his insides; every centimetre pushes more air out of his lungs until Rook bottoms out with a blissful moan. They stay mostly still for a few elating seconds during which Blitz can’t help but reach between his legs, fondle Rook’s balls and make him twitch deep inside repeatedly, something that always sends waves of pleasure rolling through him.
Rook fills him out so perfectly as if they were made for each other but he’s still in a pitiless mood: once Blitz has nodded and thus given him the signal to move, he withdraws almost all the way before slamming back in, repeating the process when it yields another broken sound from Blitz. He loves when Rook does this, when his hard thrusts reach deep but don’t come so fast as to numb his insides with overstimulation – like this, he feels every centimetre sliding in and out keenly, almost stumbles and staggers each time Rook hits his prostate. The angle is unfair, the fact that he has to endure this while standing merciless and Rook’s lustful moans directly into his ear lacking any compassion. He’s going to be ruined.
First, he needs recover his balance, he’s dizzy and only getting worse with every burst of pleasure exploding behind his eyelids, every hard impact, so he steadies himself against the windowpane. The smooth glass is icy to the touch and only reminds him of how scorchingly hot Rook is, how the hands holding on to Blitz’ hips set him ablaze, Rook’s breath on the back of his neck as hot as his body, radiating heat and making Blitz sweat. A particularly vicious thrust hitting all the right spots forces another moan out of him but so far he’s been good, suppressed a lot more… but why is he holding back?
Rook is living out a fantasy of his right now, and he’s making no effort to hide it – already his movements are becoming irregular and the endless stream of noises falling from his lips is unselfconscious. He’s utterly lost in the moment and has no qualms about letting Blitz know, allowing him to hear just how good he feels, how much he’s enjoying himself. He’s so… honest and open.
The moment Blitz moans his lover’s name, Rook almost loses his rhythm. He stumbles a little, obviously surprised, but when Blitz does it again, Rook echoes it with a similar groan of his own. He curses heartily and increases the speed at which he drives into Blitz, simultaneously hugging him tightly so he can’t go as deep but neither of them care. If he could see his reflection, Blitz bets that the other man would be smiling.
It’s astonishingly easy. Once Blitz has gotten accustomed to channelling the intense pleasure into mewls and whines and gasps, it happens all by itself, genuine reactions to Rook’s thorough fucking – and it’s liberating, strangely enough, heightens his lust where before he robbed himself of this, diminished it through his misplaced embarrassment. He feels more naked than before, probably also due to the fake sense of exposure the glass before him gives off, but it’s fine because Rook holds him, a reliable strong body keeping him upright and causing more and more pulsing need. He’s ecstatic.
Wanting more, needing to feel Rook even more sharply, Blitz pushes his hips back once again, changing their stance slightly to break the embrace but allow Rook deeper penetration which turns out to be one of the best ideas he’s ever had. His hands scrabble for purchase against the cool window but find none, so he squishes the side of his face against it instead, every hard thrust dragging his skin against the glass and every breath of his fogging it up yet it’s perfect like this. Rook’s motions are almost frantic now, getting worse whenever Blitz moans a yes or oh fuck and he can’t blame him, he does sound increasingly lewd.
His thighs are shaking by now from the exertion, his body covered in a sheen of sweat and his brain long bidden farewell. All he can do is idly wonder why he ever leaves the Frenchman out of his sight, why he would ever say no to any of his suggestions when he ends up feelings this fucking amazing each time. A hand wraps around his shaft, making him groan and instinctively clench around Rook’s cock, heightening the gratifying sensations with which it graces him.
“Imagine they could actually see you like this”, Rook whispers into his ear and increases the tempo, ramps up the intensity even more, the thought quite obviously exciting him. And Blitz does, he does imagine it, pictures what he looks like right now – rosy cheeks, face flattened and palms uselessly pressed against the window, lower half pushed towards Rook to allow for deep thrusts, swollen cock happily dripping clear liquid as it bobs along to the rhythm at which he’s being entered. He’s fine with showing his boyfriend this side of his since it goes both ways, he’s seen Rook squirming in ecstasy below him before. But he’d rather not share either of these displays with anyone else.
By now, his legs are threatening to give in despite the iron hold around his hips. His pleasure never really declined as he didn’t recover from Rook’s spectacular blow job earlier, and so he’s been high-strung this entire time, the relentless stimulation of his prostate in this position only contributing to the roaring lust. Feeling a fist around his dick now leaves him reeling and he pushes into it mindlessly, moves back and forth between Rook’s hot flesh and his merciful hand promising sweet release, his desire building and building, working towards the crescendo -
Rook plunges deep into him a few times more and he’s gone. He barely stops himself from folding in half at the sudden, concentrated pleasure hitting him and moans with abandon, moans to accompany every motion fucking his orgasm out of him, moans for the way Rook massages his dick, moans at each violent spurt of come shooting out of him and splashing the smooth glass, the only barrier between him and outside. The relief is overwhelming to a point where his vision goes dark for a second and his entire universe consists of pure delight for an impressively long time. He feels like he handed himself over wholly and this is his reward for trusting the man behind him – and it was more than worth it. Panting in disbelief, he rides it out until the pleasure has subsided and given way to thorough contentment, a deep-seated warmth relaxing his muscles.
He opens his eyes to Mute staring up at him from the street.
His heart skips a beat and the unexpected adrenalin rush makes him perk up despite the physical exhaustion. No, he’s not imagining it, Mute is indeed looking up to where he is squished against the window, and so is Smoke. Both of them are grinning like people who just got away with murder – but that’s not even all. Hibana, a few metres away, also gapes up at him, pointing and apparently making the others aware because most of them turn and look and Jesus fucking Christ.
“Julien”, he murmurs urgently, pushing against the glass to move them back, further into the room, away from the freaking window which has betrayed him so. “Julien, please -”
“I’m so close”, his lover mews, his grip tightening. He’s not letting go and he’s not letting Blitz move, holy hell, soon everyone will have seen them, and this is when Mute takes out his phone.
No. Fucking. Way.
“Move, Julien, we have to -” He’s flailing, struggling against his lover who reacts by merely shoving Blitz’ upper half against the cold surface, the shock of it causing him to tense once more and this is apparently what does it for Rook.
Helplessly, Blitz stares down at his smiling colleagues while Rook unloads inside him, their hips flush and his hot breath in Blitz’ hair. It’s not made any better by the fact that he can feel literally every throb with which his lover pumps his sperm into him, he feels it all while shuddering in residual want and keeping up eye contact with people he’s going to have to face again very soon.
He wishes for a swift death. Or maybe immediate exile.
This is the worst.
“Julien, they’re looking at us”, he hisses quietly once Rook has started relaxing against him.
“What?” A short pause. “Oh shit. Oh fuck. I didn’t think -” Finally, fucking finally he allows Blitz to move, withdraws gingerly and takes a step back into the safety of darkness. “I’m so sorry, mon cœur, I didn’t know -”
Blitz is both too much in shock and overcome with mortification to reply, so he mutely watches as Rook hurries to wipe the window clean, draw the curtains shut again and switch the light back on. To his credit, he has the decency to look apologetic as he basically wrings his hands in worry.
“At least they had a nice view?”, the Frenchman offers tentatively and that is it. Blitz is going to have to look for a new job. There’s absolutely no way he’ll ever live this down, let alone be able to look any of them in the eyes again. Ever.
“Are you insane?!”, he shoots back, audibly upset. “They watched me – I can’t believe it. None of them even knew -”
“Well, they know now.” Rook takes his hand and drags him into the bathroom and into the spacious shower, quite obviously to take his mind off of this… horror. “It’s okay, mon cœur.”
“Literally none of this is okay!” He got carried away, agreed to Rook’s terms out of guilt; he should’ve refused instead but at that point it wasn’t his upper brain doing the thinking anymore. He wonders whether anyone is going to put ‘excessive embarrassment’ as his cause of death on his tombstone.
While Rook’s gentle caresses under the warm stream of water help soothe him a little, the growing shit-eating grin does exactly the opposite. “Come on, don’t be so grumpy. You’re going to laugh about it one day. And I know you wanted to tell people yourself, but now we don’t need to hide anymore. Really, it’s a win-win situation.”
Blitz doesn’t think he’ll have any success in trying to make Rook understand that if he was embarrassed about being too loud during sex already, being watched by people whom he personally knows is infinitely worse. Not even affectionate kisses can calm the shame raging inside him and so he at first vehemently protests when Rook suggests they go back outside. “There is no way in hell I can show my face right now, neither my pride nor I would survive that.”
“Look, you fell off the horse, you have to get back on it. Better get it over with now, right?”
He has a point. Blitz doesn’t like admitting it, but his cheery boyfriend is possibly right in this, even if his bright smile is incredibly irritating. Eventually he relents after realising that Rook won’t allow for any peace otherwise, splashes his face with some cold water to hopefully reduce the flaming colour a little and fidgets restlessly in the elevator. He’s so far refrained from telling even his closest friends about Rook, so this must come as a shock to some of them. And he definitely would’ve preferred they hear about it any other way.
Everyone’s attention shifts to them as soon as they step out in front of the hotel and Blitz very nearly turns on his heel to storm back in. Rook has placed a supportive hand on his back, nudging him forwards towards their beaming colleagues.
“There you are!”, Mute greets them excitedly. “Did you two -”
“Yes, we are together!”, Blitz snaps at him, interrupting him with the brusque announcement. “And no, I don’t wanna talk about it.”
Deafening silence.
Buck pauses mid-sip, Ying looks up from where she was dramatically dipping a giggling Hibana, and Maestro seems speechless. Even Maestro doesn’t seem to know what to say.
“Riiight”, Mute replies awkwardly the way someone would react to an entirely uncalled-for slur by a racist grandparent, and Smoke murmurs a quiet and yet perfectly audible: “Weird flex but okay.”
Blitz has no idea what’s going on. Mutely, they all stare each other until Rook tugs at his sleeve and wordlessly points up at the hotel.
There’s an illuminated window, by Blitz’ estimate directly above his own room, and two silhouettes are illuminated in a tight embrace. They are the only thing visible and even then it’s a little difficult to make them out as the windows are tinted.
The windows are fucking tinted.
Not only that, their light was switched off and it seems that everyone was amazed at whatever transpired in the actually lit room, not theirs.
“Well”, Blitz says more to himself than anyone else, because.
Because well.
And then he finally gets why everyone is so thrilled, why people were laughing and smiling, why Mute felt the need to record whatever was happening above their room, in plain sight, very unlike what Rook and he were doing at the time.
“It’s Dom and Gilles, isn’t it?”, Rook wants to know, mirroring everyone else’s exhilaration and earns a few nods.
“They were adorable”, Ying fills him in and nearly drops Hibana, “so awkward around each other but so cute, they kept looking at each other and not knowing what to do with their hands, and a few minutes ago they finally kissed. Took them long enough, but they got there. Now what was that about you and Elias?”
“Nothing”, Blitz hurries to answer. He feels Rook’s gaze on him, remembers how well he reacted to the prospect of their friends knowing about them. “I mean – it’s true. We are together.”
And when Hibana finally hits the ground with an exaggerated shriek, it’s almost like a signal for everyone to go back to whatever it is they were doing previously. It’s as if nothing happened, only now Blitz has one secret less to weigh him down. And Rook is smiling at him as if he hung the stars.
“That didn’t go so badly, did it?”, the Frenchman purrs and snakes his arms around Blitz’ waist, pulling them flush. The urge to fight the casual display of affection is still present but Blitz squashes it without much effort, thinking back to Mute and Smoke leaning into each other as if it was the most natural thing on this world. And… it really is, isn’t it?
“Could’ve been a lot worse”, he agrees and kisses him. A few ‘awww’s erupt behind them and he doesn’t know whether they’re directed at them or maybe Bandit and Montagne who have gone back to kissing as well, but it doesn’t matter. They all know now and it’s certainly the better option compared to knowing everyone watched him get -
“Does this mean I can spend the night in your room?”
Rook is being cheeky and both of them are aware, he often jokingly suggests things despite knowing Blitz will say no, only this time he gets a nod without hesitation. “Yeah. I’d like that.” Rook’s instant joy makes it more than worth it, though it also prompts Blitz to clarify one thing extremely carefully: “But we’re never doing anything like this again.”

WTOWW are all about our writers branching out into other avenues of creativity. Writing original content outside of the Richonne fandom is a great way for our writers to break through mental blocks when they find themselves stuck on current WIP.
Co-mod @isisnicole has written a short story from a prompt that was provided by @thematsaidwelcome79 called  “He called at midnight to tell her...”
We hope you enjoy this short story of Xavier and Jasmine.
-WTOWW staff
He called her at midnight to tell her.....
That he couldn't stop thinking about her the entire way home. The drive home was filled with the replaying of their night together. The quiet evening dinner in the park next to the water. The heat of the day was kept at bay by the light breeze blowing off the water as they sat on the large plaid blanket. Her head resting on his abdomen as he laid back listening to her melodic voice speak of her plans of becoming a nurse. They walked along the lake hand in hand smiling as two new lovers would.
Xavier ran his hand over his close-cropped fade as he walked through his house “Tonight was the most fun I've had in a long time.”
“Me too,” she giggled as she lay sprawled out on her soft grey comforter in her comfy, light blue pajama set. Jasmine was fresh out of a relaxing hot shower the breeze of her ceiling fan cooling her hot skin. She was smiling as her mind replayed the sweet date they had.
“If I had known that dropping that container of guacamole would have led me to you sooner. I would have pulled the whole shelf down.”
“You are so silly,” she said, “Yeah the guacamole was your saving grace and your beautiful eyes,” Jasmine recalled the day in Abe’s Grocery when a handsome stranger offered to help grab the last guacamole that was on the top refrigerated shelf pushed far to the back. He successfully grabbed it but quickly dropped it onto the floor and all over her sandaled feet. He apologized profusely even attempting to wipe the mess off her shoes or buy her a new pair. Jasmine had only caught a glance of the side of his face and the top of his head. When he stood up to his full height, she was caught off guard by his hazel brown eyes and handsome dark features.
“So you only want me for my eyes,” he teased. Xavier made himself comfortable in the well-worn leather chair. He was in his boxers and white tank top with the biggest grin on his face. He couldn't help the excitement in his voice. The past 2 weeks of texting and phone calls with Jasmine had him feeling like a lovesick teenager, but he didn't care. Luckily, tomorrow was Saturday, and he didn't have to work. So he planned on staying on the phone all night with her if she wanted.
“Maybe,” she teased back. Her sweet-sounding voice vibrating through his body. If he could record her saying ‘Good Morning and Good Night,’ he would make it his ringtone. Her gorgeous dark eyes and full natural lips were always on his mind. Jasmine was a unique beauty the small gap in her white teeth only enhanced her the fullness of her lips.  Small beauty marks lined her face like tiny stars in the sky. The small nose piercing on her cute button nose completed the stunning ensemble of her tawny features.
“Do you have any plans tomorrow?” he asked.
“No, I have tomorrow off. What about you?”
“Same. Would you like to meet for lunch and then maybe we could drive to the beach and walk along the Boardwalk. They are having a Halloween contest.”
“Oh, that sounds like fun. You can buy me a funnel cake.”
“I will buy every funnel cake they have for you.” his words came off as a joke, but Xavier was dead serious about buying every funnel cake they had if that's what she wanted.
“Ahh, that is so sweet. I bet you say that to all the women who you splatter with guacamole.”
“No that's only for you, but it was your fault that it happened.”
“How do you figure that?”
“Your beauty blinded me, and your smile made me forget how to speak for a bit, so I dropped the container.”
Jasmine laughed even harder at his silly statement. As her laughter died down and she composed herself her voice deepened to a seductive, flirtatious tone “Well since it's my fault I guess I need to make it up to you.”
Xavier's heart fluttered at the enticing inflection. “Oh yeah and how are you going to do that,” his voice lowering to match hers.
“Well since we both are off tomorrow maybe we can have a late night movie night tonight,” her singsong voice heavy with the hint of a more arousing evening.
“Soooo… Netflix and chill or just chill.”
Jasmine stretched in her bed lazily. Her lean athletic mocha frame arched like a cat. She ran her free hand over her taut stomach up to her full breast squeezing the covered nipple. It hardened under touch “I have the Netflix boy shorts...I could show you and... you could take them off,” she moaned.
His eyes were wide as saucers. Did he hear her correctly? Yeah, she said it. Holy shit! “Hold please,” he said hurriedly.
Jasmine pulled the phone from her ear her forehead creased. Confused about the strange comment.  Was she too forward? God is he going to say no. What if he thinks I'm a trollop or something.
Xavier sprang from his chair his eyes rapidly shooting around the room. Spotting his car keys on the side table by the front door. He quickly grabbed them and hurried back to the phone.
“Ok, I'm back. What is your address and what do you want for dinner because I'm on my way.”
Jasmine laughed loudly again. “Did you actually get dressed that fast?”
Xavier looked down at his half-dressed appearance. He was still in his underwear and shirt. “Uhmm... looks like I skipped a few steps but I can be dressed and out the door in 5 minutes.”
Jasmine gave him her address and some extra directions on getting to her home. Vietnamese was the dinner choice for this impromptu visit. Xavier rushed over in his sleek maroon sports car. There was no traffic this late at night, but he still kept his head on a swivel for the police. He didn't want his mood ruined by a stupid citation.
Jasmines home was a duplex in a gated community. The small ranch style home was very modest looking on the outside. A one-car garage for each home and a neatly trimmed and decorated flowerbed and lawn.
He approached the door with a bottle of Rose in one hand and a chocolate bar plus dinner in the other. She sent him a text asking if he could pick up the sweet confection for her. He was happy to oblige the request. Chocolate bar for a sexy chocolate woman. His stomach was fluttering and in knots. This would be his first time in her home and the first they would be intimate. He said a silent prayer for the strength to last as he dives between her silky thighs. Taking a moment, he reaches around to feel the bulge in his back pocket. The small box of condoms was snug in his back pocket. He pressed the doorbell button the ding-dong sound was loud against the late night quiet. He turned his head looking around checking if anyone was watching him. The sound of the front door lock disengaging interrupted his cautious scan.
Xavier almost lost his grip on the bottle as the front door opened. Jasmine stood at the door in a long black t-shirt that came down to mid-thigh length. He could just make out the bright red boy shorts underneath. His eyes glided down her body to her sexy shaped calves, which were covered in black with white striped knee-high socks. She was the hottest referee he had ever seen. The sly smile on her face showed she approved of his stun reaction to her outfit.
“Well come on in,” she said in that same sweet, playful voice that he loved. She took the plastic bag that held their dinner out of his hand before turning away from the door sauntering back into her home. He had a clear view of the red boy shorts that had the word ‘CHILL’ printed in large bold letters. The individual letters spread wide apart as the stretchy material tried to contain her bountiful ass.
“Lordt,” he whispered as he watched her derriere swish towards her living room.
“Don't forget to lock the door… both locks,” she called over her shoulder. She lowered her body dramatically slow onto her couch making sure she had his full attention.
Xavier stepped into the home closing the door behind him and engaging both locks. He checked the door again just to be sure. Pulling on the doorknob for comical effect. He didn't want anything or anyone interrupting them.
Jasmine giggled at his shenanigans as she started pulling the steamy contents from the bag “Come on over here and let's pick a movie.”
Xavier happily made his way to the large light blue sectional couch. Late night movie night was going to be his favorite type of night from now on.

A Million Eyes You Are The Brightest Blue - A CrissColfer Fic
Loosely based on this prompt: “You broke into my apartment drunk thinking it was your friend’s house and I should call the cops but my cat kinda likes you so we’re good” AU
Bc I can’t seem to stop writing, and was suddenly inspired to write a NYE fic.
Word Count: 2215 AO3
*Title from A Great Big World’s This Is The New Year
This is the third New Year’s Eve Chris has spent alone. He’s actually gotten so used to it that he no longer feels that sorry for himself. Living in downtown LA should’ve meant that he’d have made at least some friends, but clearly that hasn’t happened yet. Maybe it’s the fact that he’s a struggling college student slash writer who holes himself up in his too-small apartment, and gets his groceries delivered to his doorstep.
Maybe. Probably.
Chris has already set himself up for the night- several cans of diet coke are set out on the coffee table, along with some boxes of Thai takeout and all three Lord of the Rings movies lined up on Netflix. He’s about to settle himself on the couch, from where he probably won’t move for at least four or five hours, when there is an almighty crash in the hallway.
Chris’ heart almost stops, and in a flash of panic, he grabs the television remote, wielding it like like a weapon. He sits as still as he can, keeping his ears out for any more noises. This is it. This is totally the night he dies. He can almost imagine the headlines- Innocent Man Brutally Murdered By Thugs On New Year’s Eve: A Tragic Ending To The Year-
An excited yelp and a hiccup startle Chris out of thoughts of his imminent obituary, and he frowns in disbelief when he hears someone cooing animatedly, as if to a baby.
“Oh my god, you’re adorable- Jules totally didn’t say she had a cat- who are you, my lovely-”
Whoever it is, sounds either raving mad or incredibly drunk, and seems to have found Brian. Oh god. Brian. Brian, who must now be in the hands of a cold-blooded killer. Brian, who could just as well be about to join Chris in his fast-approaching grave.
Scrambling to the kitchen, he fumbles for a knife from the drawer, and picks up his phone, fingers already on the number 9. Pointing the knife away from him, he tiptoes over to the opening to the hallway.
Heart thudding in his throat, breathing shallow and fast, Chris is totally prepared to use the knife against a ferocious attack, but what greets him is not a psychotic serial killer who gets distracted with house pets before a murder. Instead, it’s a completely harmless looking man, sitting cross-legged on the ground, with a purring Brian in his lap.
Chris drops the knife.
It makes a clattering noise against the wood, and the burglar slash murderer slash cat whisperer looks up at him. Chris is immediately greeted with a blindingly enthusiastic smile.
“Heyy, man! You a friend of Jules?” he slurs, Brian falling out of his lap with a disgruntled yelp when he makes a move to get up and greet Chris.
Chris immediately backs away, brandishing his phone as a warning. “I am going to call the cops right now, if you don’t get out of this apartment.”
The man’s face falls almost comically, and for some reason Chris feels bad. The guy looks genuinely heartbroken.
“Wait, why? I know Jules, she’s like one of my best friends!”
Chris would probably feel like he was talking to a toddler were this guy not clearly a grown man in at least his early 20s, and also a very hot grown man at that. Which is totally an inappropriate thought to think about a felon, since breaking and entering is a felony in California, but Chris really can’t help himself.
He shakes himself out of rather un-PG thoughts of those dark curls and stubble, and brings his mind back to what the guy just said. “Who is Jules? Why would you think Jules lives here?”
The man’s (weirdly shaped yet insanely attractive) eyebrows furrow in confusion. “This isn’t Jules’ house?”
Chris groans exasperatedly. “No, this isn’t Jules’ house. Clearly, in your inebriated state, you’ve come to the wrong apartment. Broken and entered, actually.”
The man leans heavily against the wall. “I didn’t break anything. The door was open.”
Oh. Shit. Chris must’ve left the door open when he got his food from the delivery boy. Maybe not a felon, then.
“I’m Darren.”
He’s introducing himself, why is he introducing himself? Chris just wants to get back to his warm blankets and thai food, not make friends with a drunk stranger, no matter how hot he is.
“You also need to leave.” Chris means it in a firm way, but it just ends up sounding mean. Darren pouts and Chris winces. He looks like a puppy left out in the rain.
“Why?” Darren whines, and then his eyes flicker with recognition. “Oooh- are you with someone? Am I interrupting something?”
Chris flushes. “No, I’m not with anyone right now-”
“Wait, you’re alone? On New Year’s Eve?”
Chris stomps towards Darren, ignoring the fact that he could very well be walking straight to his death (what if he was just a really good actor?), and holds the door open wide. “Yes, I’m alone. And that’s not actually a bad thing. Maybe I want to be alone!”
Chris tries to make it sound confident and assured, but it ends up sounding painfully defensive.
Darren pouts again, and Chris almost melts. “Don’t you want company? I could be your company!”
Chris raises his eyebrows. “Don’t you have somewhere to be? Jules or someone?”
Darren waves his hand airily, thereby removing his anchoring on the wall, leading him to stumble precariously. Chris grabs his waist on instinct, ignoring how well it fits under his arm.
“Nah, I won’t miss much. Everyone’ll be smashed anyway.”
“Like you are?”
“I could sober up!”
Darren sounds almost hopeful, and Chris wonders why on earth he would be. In his ninja turtles t-shirt and shapeless pajama bottoms, Chris doesn’t really look like the most interesting person on the planet.
“I should be calling the cops.”
Darren waggles his eyebrows. “But you haven’t, even when you could have.” His grin is like the cheshire cat’s.
Chris can already feel himself caving. “Won’t your friends miss you?”
“Nah, they saw me yesterday. They’ll live.”
“You’re still drunk. I don’t want to have to babysit you.”
“Then catch up. We’ll both be drunk, and then you won’t have to babysit anyone.”
Chris narrows his eyes and lets go of Darren’s waist, wincing when he falls against the wall with a thud. “Why are you doing this?”
Darren looks confused. “Why am I doing what?”
“Why are you offering to hang out with me when you don’t even know me?”
“That’s how you get to know people. By hanging out?” Darren says it like he’s telling Chris that water is wet.
“But why me?”
“Well, I feel like you’d be more interesting than my drunk friends that I see like, every day, and plus you’re like, beautiful- in a surreal, elfin way.”
He’s drunk, Chris tries to assure himself. He’s drunk and he probably didn’t mean that.
“How are you still able to use words like that?” he asks instead.
Darren shrugs, and leans his arm against the door so that it falls shut with a soft click. “I’m not that drunk.” As soon as he says it, his arm gives way, and he’s falling to the floor in a heap.
Chris rolls his eyes. “Clearly, I’ve got a lot of catching up to do.”
He tries to ignore the swooping sensation in his stomach when Darren whoops with glee.
***
“That is a lie.”
Darren’s sprawled over his couch, legs tangled with Chris’, while Chris watches from the other end. It’s probably weird, because they’ve literally only just met, but Chris is ready to start doing weird things. He’s also partway drunk, so it helps.
“There is no way you haven’t ever had a boyfriend.”
Chris raises his eyebrow and downs the rest of his glass of rum and diet coke. “Not a lie. No one wants to date me, and even if they did, I wouldn’t know. I barely ever go out.”
“But you’re like-” Darren gestures wildly. “Gorgeous.”
A pink blush joins the alcohol-induced redness on Chris’ face. There cannot be any way he looks gorgeous right now.
Darren however, is on a roll. “You’re also super fucking smart- you write for fuck’s sake, and you’re funny, and kind, and you let me into your house without even knowing who I was.”
“I’m also stupid, then.”
Darren’s gasps indignantly. “That was like the best decision ever! I am so glad you actually let me stay! I’ve never spent a New Year’s with someone like you.”
Chris suddenly feels sick. He sets down his empty glass, and curls up under the blankets. “I think I’ve drunk enough for one night.”
Darren seems to notice the change in the atmosphere. “Okay, then. I think you’re sufficiently caught up anyway.”
Chris suddenly feels bad, and decides to ask about Darren’s family. Darren’s eyes light up and it’s enough to ward away images of Darren with other people on New Year’s Eves, doing things that make Chris heart ache to think of.
***
“Do you have sparklers?”
Darren’s looking through Chris’ cupboards, and Chris is hoping that there’s a sufficient amount of healthy food in there so that he won’t be judged.
“Why do you want sparklers?”
“It’s New Year’s!”
“And?”
Darren stares at Chris like he’s sprouted two heads. “You light sparklers during New Years.”
“I know that, Darren.”
“Don’t you want to?”
Oh, and it’s back. The lost puppy face.
“Is it safe to light them inside?”
“We’ll go out on the balcony! Please?” Darren looks so excited that Chris finds himself caving, once again.
“I might have some left over from Hannah’s birthday party.”
Darren squeals like a little girl, and Chris tries not to think about how he’s already told him all about Hannah, and their relationship. He also tries to ignore the fact that no one he knows in LA has ever been close enough to him for him to even mention his sister.
Chris retrieves the sparklers, and suddenly Darren’s grabbing his hand, leading him out to the open balcony. The air is cooler that he expects, and sends a pleasant shiver up his spine.
“Seven minutes to midnight,” Darren whispers, and Chris startles.
Oh yeah. This is happening. He’s on a balcony with a gorgeous stranger (not a stranger anymore, Chris reminds himself), and they’re about to count down to the New Year. Said stranger also swings both ways, a useful tidbit of information Chris garnered when he told Darren he was gay, fully ready to kick him out if he even got the slightest whiff of homophobia.
They’ve got the sparklers and matches at the ready.
The mood is suddenly serious, standing out here in the open, wind whistling in their ears. There’s a distant pulse of music from one of the other apartments.
“Are you wishing for anything?” Chris asks quietly.
“Yeah.”
“Don’t tell me, or it won’t come true.”
Darren’s eyes glow amber in the moonlight. “Can I tell you if it does come true?”
“Are you that confident?”
Darren holds his gaze, lifting up Chris’ unlit sparkler to light it with a match. It fizzles to life immediately, bright and brilliant between them.
“More like hopeful,” he replies, using Chris’ sparkler to light his own. They’re one of the long ones that go on for several minutes instead of several seconds. They take turns drawing patterns in the sky, until Darren’s phone pings to let them know it’s almost midnight.
“I’ve never had a New Year’s kiss,” Chris whispers into the darkness. He doesn’t know why he says it.
“Neither have I.”
Chris turns to look at Darren in surprise. “That’s impossible.”
“Really. I always clear out as soon as they start the countdown.”
“Why?”
Their sparklers glitter closer to the ends of the sticks, and Darren gently takes Chris’ hand in his own to hold them away from their bodies.
“I guess I’ve never really wanted to have a New Year’s kiss that’s meaningless. They say the person who you kiss at New Years is the person you’ll spend the rest of the year with.”
“And you’ve never met someone you’d want to stay a year with?”
“I have.”
“And?”
They’ve somehow moved closer together, so that they’re sparklers are touching and there’s barely a hair’s breadth between their bodies.
“And I really don’t think a year’s enough.”
Fireworks explode out from behind them. Chris recognises them as the ones that are lit at Grand Park, in downtown LA.
“We missed the countdown-” Chris starts, and suddenly Darren’s kissing him, one hand cupping his jaw, and the other twined with Chris’ where their sparklers share a flame.
Darren’s kissing him, and it feels like the world just stopped turning.
Darren’s kissing him and all he knows is how soft his lips are and the feel of his hair under his fingers and the smell of sparkler smoke.
Darren’s kissing him, and Chris really just needs to know. He pulls away to rest his forehead on Darren’s, gasping slightly. His lips still tingle from the memory of Darren’s touch.
“Who was that someone you said that a year wouldn’t be enough with?”
Darren’s lashes brush Chris’ cheeks as he steals another kiss.
“You.”

Crumbles’ Big Dump of Upcoming Fics
Happy New Year, everybody! I certainly hope that so far things are going well for you all. I had been meaning to make this post a while back but things got kinda… delayed. Between a lot of really painful personal tragedies – including the death of my dad – and a stressful schedule with work and school, I’ve been a little all over the place. 2017 has been, by far, the cruelest and loneliest year of my life. My dad’s death has shattered me in a lot of different ways, but it had a huge impact on my ability to write, which crippled my usual coping mechanism. He was always really invested in the original stories that I work on as well and was also so supportive of my works. It made writing – something that I have always relied on as a stress relief and outlet for my negative emotions – painful and challenging and it, in turn, made me bitter and resentful at myself and at him. I’ll make another post about where I’ve been in my own mind fully just to get it all out eventually, but for now I just want to offer up an abridged version.
Most days I didn’t – and, honestly, there are still days where I don’t – feel like myself at all. But I feel that, at this point, not writing would be a disservice to his memory.
In the last few weeks I’ve felt a bit more clarity and I’ve been able to find my voice again. I don’t want to stop writing and I have no intention of doing it. In fact, my imagination has kinda jump-started back to near-normal capacity and I have a lot of ideas I’m really excited to share. This post is about the ideas I have in mind and when I intend to upload what. I want to put myself on a schedule because I feel like setting goals for myself will be a good way to get me back in the swing of things.
In preparation for this, I’ve actually gone ahead and made myself an AO3 account – which can be found [here] - because the ideas under the “Read More” are all going to be multi-chapter projects. I’ll still make posts here on tumblr when any updates go live (and should have schedules for when each fic will be updated), I just don’t want to post full chapters here, since I tend to write long chapters. I am also adding the disclaimer here that one-shots (with some exceptions)/ requests/ and other things of that ilk will not be listed here because those have no real schedule in mind.
Ships to Expect: SasuSaku (Naruto), SoMa (Soul Eater), Hance (Voltron), and a whole mess of Kidge (Voltron) because I have no control.
The Shrink Treatment 3: Voltron (Kidge): I am almost done with this one and, surprise to no one, there’ll be one more part after that to just wrap it all up. Regardless, though, I should be able to finish this short series up before the end of the month! Release Date: January 11th/12th, 2018 Update Schedule: Once (Part 4 will hopefully be done within two weeks from whichever day I upload Part 3)
Request 5: Voltron (Kidge): Leaving this vague, because I still want it to be a surprise, but the final of a list of requests I received a few months ago! This, much like The Shrink Treatment, ended up getting away from me. I relaly loved the idea and it’s taking me a while to get it finished. Release Date: February 14th, 2018 Update Schedule: Once (Valentine’s Special)
Like Treading Water: Voltron (Kidge): Love isn’t exactly an emotion that is easy to explain or acknowledge if you aren’t actively looking for it. Little nuances will stick out as something irregular and strange, but can be easily shrugged off when a mind applies logic or sound reasoning to it. You can blind yourself to something that is so obvious to those around you simply by virtue of coming up with other explanations. This is a chronology of how each Paladin realized that Keith Kogane and Pidge Gunderson were falling for each other; including the two Paladins themselves. Note: I started working on this back in October of 2015, shortly after I watched the first season and became Voltron trash. As such, I’m currently having to re-read what I’ve written so far to assure that it falls in line with the canon of the series thus far. Release Date: February 14th, 2018 Update Schedule: Once (Valentine’s Special)
Keidge Month: Not a multi-chapter story, but I just want to say I have every intention of participating in Keidge Month in March; in fact, I’ve already started to work on some of my prompt fills. I’ll post all my prompt fills to both here and AO3, just so that people can choose to read it on whichever outlet is more comfortable for them. It’s my number one ship and it happens to take place during my birthday month, so what kind of smuck would I be to not participate? ;3c Release Date: March 1st, 2018 Update Schedule: Daily (Month Long Event)
Cherry Bomb: Naruto (SasuSaku) – After an accident in the facility that she is interning at, Sakura Haruno gains super strength and an accelerated healing element. With the help of her role model, Dr. Tsunade Senju, she learns how to control and harness this power to help protect the denizens of the city. She is thrust into stopping a plot by other humans with genetic mutations to take control of the city using intimidation and force while also trying to keep her secret identity hidden from her photo-journalist boyfriend, Sasuke Uchiha. Note: I’ve been planning this project for roughly three – Hell, almost four – years now. This is going to be my final Naruto project – excluding any requests I get – and I want it to be something really special and significant to not just anyone who reads it, but also to my own growth as a writer. Naruto has been one of the longest fandoms I’ve been in and SasuSaku was one of my first really big ships; I want this to be a final love letter worth my time to write and worth everyone’s time to read. Release Date: March 2nd, 2018 Update Schedule: Bi-Weekly
Kidge Week: Again, not a multi-chapter thing but I really needed to say I have every intention of participating in this as well! My goal is to finish as many of my prompt fills for Keidge month before the prompts for Kidge Week drop in February as possible so that I can start working on that ASAP. Release Date: April 15th, 2018 Update Schedule: Daily (Week Long Event)
Hance Month: What do you know, I had way more things to list as non-multi-chapter fics for the first half of the year than I thought! Another extended event I have every intention of participating in because I really want to produce more content for Hance. It’s really such an great, under-rated ship that deserves more love! Release Date: May 1st, 2018 Update Schedule: Daily (Month Long Event)
Lance McClain vs. The World: After getting involved with a charming young engineering student named Hunk Garrett after meeting at a bar, Lance McClain finds himself getting dragged into a series of events that seem to be ripped right out of a comic book. He is given a warning from the leader of something called “Team Voltron”; a group of Hunk’s ex-lovers and close personal friends, dedicated to determining the worthiness of Hunk’s suitors through various competitive means. Never one to back down from a challenge, Lance agrees to the terms and is forced to learn various new skills and talents in order to compete with the roster of powerful opponents he faces. Note: The fact that there aren’t more Scott Pilgrim AUs in any of the fandoms I like is really disappointing, so I decided that I’d fix that problem myself. While I’ll be following the basic formula set up by the source material, I intend to take a very different approach and keep it fresh with some ideas of my own. So if you’ve actually seen Scott Pilgrim? This’ll be of a different flavor, so don’t assume you know what I have up my sleeve. ;3 Release Date: May 10th, 2018 Update Schedule: Weekly or Bi-Weekly.
Bodyguard AU (Title TBD): Voltron (Kidge): After publically calling out the shady business practices of Galra Tech, acclaimed actor Keith Kogane finds himself the subject of both an attempted assassination and threat of blackmail. Undeterred, he feels no fear at the prospect of making an enemy of the powerful conglomerate. Worried about his safety, both physically and his privacy being violated, his agent, Allura LeAltea, calls upon the help of an old charm school friend of hers. Enter Katie Holt; renowned tech prodigy and secret hacker known as Pidge Gunderson, hired on to be Keith’s personal bodyguard. The only catch? The two must pretend to be dating to assure that Katie can tag along with him wherever he goes without cueing Galra Tech into knowing their threats have had an effect. Note: I love Bodyguard AUs. I love Fake Dating AUs. I love deviating from the expectation. On top of that, an amazing Bodyguard AU one-shot has already been written by the talented Camphalfgalra on AO3, in which Keith is the bodyguard and Pidge is his client, so I decided to flip the roles for my own version of the trope. Release Date: June 15th, 2018 Update Schedule: Weekly or Bi-Weekly
Twilight: Voltron (Kidge): One night, Matthew Holt disappeared from his room without a trace. In the time that he’d been gone, his younger sister, Katie Holt, has been frantically pushing for more action to be taken in bringing her brother home; believing he has been whisked away to the deadly mystery of the forest around their small village of Kerberos. With her brother missing, her mother’s health rocky in her grief, and her father away to help a neighboring village with a fast-spreading illness, she is struggling to maintain not only all effort to bring her brother home alive, but also keep the family farm up to its normal functionality. The Head of the Village Guard, Thace Kogane, insists that she accept the help of his two children, Keith and Allura, to assist her with the farm. Initially cold and distant, Katie slowly warms up to the duo and finds that they may be able to offer her more help in finding her brother, as well as unraveling the mysteries of the dark forest just outside the fences of their small village. Note: I basically just threw the Voltron cast into the universe of one of my own stories – The Tragedy of Helena and Jeremiah – and went with it. Pidge is a pseudo-replacement for Helena and Keith is a pseudo-replacement for Jeremiah, though they have drastically different personalities from my own characters, and as such the story goes in a much different direction. I also borrowed some elements from another project of mine - Sweet Tooth - which The Tragedy of Helena and Jeremiah is a prequel to. Release Date: August 17th, 2018 Update Schedule: Bi-Weekly or Monthly
SingleParent!AU (Title TBD): Soul Eater (SoMa): Soul Evans has been struggling with life as a single father for roughly three years now; working two jobs and odd hours to support himself and his precious daughter, Harmony. Upon the announcement of his older brother, Wes, getting married, he is begged to return home to help with preparing for the ceremony and to be his brother’s Best Man. Feeling that he’ll have better opportunities with his family’s support and more time to spend with Harmony, Soul agrees to moving back to Death City. Through fate and circumstance, Soul meets Maka Albarn, the writer of his daughter’s favorite series of children’s books and intended Maid of Honor to Liz Thompson, Wes’ fiancée, and the two get along pretty well. And, perhaps from there, more will develop between them. Note: Bodyguard, Fake Dating, and Single Parent AUs are my fucking weakness. On top of that, I really want to write something that kinda messes with the typical tropes of Single Parent AUs that I’ve read. Hopefully it’ll be a fun ride for everyone! Release Date: September 28st, 2018 Update Schedule: Bi-Weekly

Not Too Late
Summary: Sasuke is friendly with her – a friendliness that is simultaneously a relief and torture. Their friendship is as it always was, but she finds she is no longer satisfied by that. [SasuSakuMonth2017 – Day 2– Prompt: “Something More”]

Warning(s): Road To Ninja OCness for the characters. So flirty, dreamboat Sasuke and emotionally stunted Sakura :P
Fanon Compliance: Takes place several years after The Flip Side
AN: Again, sorry for the lateness, unpacking is kicking my ass. But I now can see my kitchen table, so yay for small victories! Editing will be done at a later date.
This fic was inspired by Anne of the Island by LM Montgomery (my favourite author growing up!). For some reason, the scene where Anne finally figures out how she feels about Gilbert struck me as being a believable way for RTN Sakura to figure out she’s in love with Charasuke.
The clouds are rolling in, threatening a late summer storm, when Sakura finally sets foot through Konoha’s giant gates. Weary and covered in road dust, she waves at Izumo and Kotetsu, before beginning the long trudge into the centre of the village.
She’s been away for almost a month, teaching a series of seminars on antidotes throughout the five shinobi countries. As the foremost medic in Konoha (after Lady Tsunade, of course, though the Hokage is too busy running the village to make many trips these days), Sakura is in high demand for her poison expertise and field training. Although she’s proud of her skills, and the networking will be a step up when it comes time to put forth her candidacy for Hokage, she can’t help feel exhausted.
This trip felt longer and more stressful – possibly because it’s the first one she’s undertaken alone. Her former teammates are so busy these days with their own pursuits. Menma is often away on missions with ANBU – although he’s sworn to secrecy on the matter, she’s pretty sure that he’s the new ANBU commander – and Kakashi is inspiring the next generation of shinobi at the Academy. As for Sasuke, he’s been taking on more responsibility within Konoha’s military police and among his clan, and so rarely has time to spare.
He doesn’t even have the time to flirt anymore, she thinks with grim humour as she passes by the Uchiha district.
It’s quieter than usual, she notices a beat later; most days it’s bustling with activity even late into the night.
The Uchiha are one of the oldest and most respected clans in Konoha, after all, and are usually at the centre of every village tradition and activity. The atmosphere here was always such a stark contrast to her own quiet upbringing – even more so after her parent’s deaths.
Whenever she and Menma used to come here as genin to pick up Sasuke or visit him on their days off, they always ended up running into someone who needed help around the house or with their chores. His older cousins would tease him good-naturedly, and his little cousins would take along with them, in awe of their status as ninja (even if they were only genin at the time).
Sasuke would complain about it, but both Sakura and Menma could always tell that he secretly loved it. He liked people relying on him, would go out of his way to help his older aunts and uncles, and even got his teammates to help him tend to his mother’s garden.
He was even more dedicated in the years after his brother left.
He’s a good guy, that wheedling voice at the back of Sakura’s head reminds her. He’ll make someone a good partner one day.
But she shrugs away that thought, because she’s made her feelings on that particular subject very clear – both to Sasuke and herself.
Being Hokage is an important job, and demands a lot – she’s seen as much with Tsunade; there’s no way she can dedicate herself to that and a family. Besides, as Hokage she might one day end up in the same position as her parents and have to sacrifice herself for the village. The idea of leaving her child or children to grow up orphaned haunts her; she knows from experience there’s no fate worse.
Besides, there will be no shortage of children to look after in the village, especially with all of her agemates pairing off and starting families.
Ino is engaged to a civilian art expert named Kyoya, and somehow Shikamaru managed to charm the Kazekage’s painfully shy sister over the course of the past few chuunin exams. There’s to be a state wedding in Suna next month before Temari officially relocates to Konoha. Choji just recently returned from a trip to Kumo, a soft-spoken bride in tow – apparently, he didn’t want to deal with the fuss of a big wedding.
And then, of course, there’s Menma.
Sakura recalls how a few months ago, Hinata stalked across the town square and flat-out told him they were getting married. And then he sighed, like it was a huge imposition, but accepted.
It should have been the most painful moment of her life, but all Sakura could feel was happy for her friend. She has long-since grown out of her one-sided crush with the Uzumaki boy (and doesn’t it gnaw at her that Sasuke accurately predicted that!), and despite Hinata’s overbearing nature, they’ve developed a mutual respect.
I guess it’s true that they say – that people change, she muses as she leaves the Uchiha district in her wake.
She considers whether she ought to stop at the Hokage Tower first, or home, and decides on the latter. Her mission wasn’t an urgent one, so there’s no need tor report in immediately. Besides, Suna’s desert is still clinging to her skin and her hair feels stiff with sweat. She needs to bathe before she can in good conscience enter the Hokage’s presence.

Sakura takes her time once she’s home, enjoying a long shower and the feel of clean clothes on her skin. She even takes a short nap before heading out into the village; there’s no food in the house, and she doesn’t feel like getting groceries this evening.
As usual she heads for the Yakiniku Q, expecting to have a nice meal and perhaps some conversation. There’s always someone around to chat with – one of the double-edged perks of being the child of heroes, she supposes.
When she arrives, she sees a table at the back where a few of her friends are sitting quietly. It’s another oddity – usually her friends are the loudest in the room – but she chalks it up to the lateness of the day.
“Sakura!” Ino gasps when she sees her. “When did you get back?”
“About an hour ago,” she replies, sliding into an empty space. “Have you all ordered yet?”
“What the hell are you doing here?” Hinata sneers. “Shouldn’t you be at the hospital?”
“I’m not due to start any shifts for another day or two,” Sakura replies, frowning at the animosity. Hinata is never pleasant per se, but she’s stopped being so confrontational since her engagement.
“You…have you spoken to anyone else since you’ve been back?” Neji asks, eyes shifting to Tenten, who shakes her head incrementally.
“No, I haven’t,” Sakura says slowly. “Guys, what’s going on? Why are you all acting so…suspicious?”
“If anyone’s acting suspicious, it’d be you,” Hinata returns. “Then again, maybe it’s just who you are. I knew you were cold, but I’d think you’d be a little more upset that your fall-back guy is dying.”
“Hinata!” Tenten objects, eyes flitting anxiously to Sakura.
It takes about ten seconds for her to understand who exactly the Hyūga heiress is talking about, and five more before the meaning behind her words sink in. Once they do, she can only stare at the pale-eyed girl in disbelief.
“What?” she echoes faintly, feeling the blood drain from her cheeks so fast that she feels dizzy.
“Shut up, Hinata,” Ino says with uncharacteristic sharpness. She regards Sakura with the air of someone preparing to diffuse an explosive tag. “Sakura, don’t look like that, it’s – Sakura, do you hear me?!”
“You shouldn’t have told her so suddenly, Neji chides his cousin, who crosses her arms unrepentantly.
“She’s strong enough to take it. You beating around the bush wasn’t doing her any favours.”
“Is it…is it true?” Sakura asks her best friend in a voice that doesn’t sound like hers. “Is Sasuke…?”
“He’s very ill,” Ino confirms gravely. “He got sick about a day or so after you left on your mission.”
“I’m surprised Lady Tsunade didn’t mention it to you when you got back,” Neji remarks.
“I…I just went straight home,” Sakura explains faintly. Her decision to luxuriate in the shower and nap suddenly seem ridiculous and selfish in the face of this new reality. “What’s wrong with him?”
“We don’t know,” Ino says. “Whatever it is, it’s bad enough that his parents brought him to the hospital. The healers don’t – Sakura, please don’t make that face!” Because if the Uchiha, who tend to have their own private family healers see to their needs, brought Sasuke to the hospital, it has to be serious. “He’s strong – you know how strong Sasuke is. He’ll pull through.”
“Shizune was here earlier and she figures there’s no hope,” Hinata remarks, taking a sip of sake.
Ino’s jaw sets, and in a move that is utterly uncharacteristic of her, she promptly marches the Hyūga girl away before Sakura throws a punch at her.
Not that she is at all in the mind frame to do so, because she is still struggling to make sense of what all this means.
“Don’t worry, Sakura,” Neji tells her, resting comforting hand on her shoulder. “Sasuke is Uchiha. They have strong constitutions. I have no doubt that he will pull through.”
But she doesn’t miss the slight waver in his voice, as if he isn’t sure what he’s saying is completely true.
Numb, Sakura shrugs off his hand and stands to leave. She barely hears her friends worriedly call her name as she steps out into the street, staring unseeingly ahead of herself.
The rain has started in earnest since she went inside and now beats down in sheets. Passersby sprint through the road, trying to find shelter, but she barely feels the water on her skin. The air throbs with energy, vibrating with the thunder, and three blocks away, Sasuke Uchiha lies dying.
“Don’t be such an idiot.”
“You’re so annoying.”
“If you spent as much time on your jutsus as you do on flirting, you’d be better than Menma.”
“Why would I go on a date with you, you playboy?”
She remembers every single time she told him to leave her alone, or wished he would move on and get out of her life. Now that he might just do that, Sakura realises that it would be like cutting out a vital organ.
She begins to run.

“What’s wrong with him?” Sakura demands as she bursts into the Critical Care ward, not bothering with a greeting.
“S-Sakura-sensei, you’re not supposed to –!”
“Symptoms, Ando, or don’t bother speaking,” she barks.
“P-patient presented with…with shortness of breath and coughing,” her intern stammers. “Within a day it transitioned into full-fledged hemoptysis, resulting in the family admitting him to Critical Care. He’s required constant monitoring and daily healing sessions to keep his lungs clear.”
“Anything else?”
“I’m really not supposed to –”
“Then don’t – pass me his chart! He’s dying and you’re wasting my time with red tape!” she snarls, grabbing the clipboard from the flustered teenager and storming down the hallway to the wing where the patients dying of terminal diseases are housed.
The fact that Sasuke has been placed there makes her want to vomit.
Upon turning the corner, she finds her way blocked by two familiar figures. Kakashi and Menma are like two pillars against the doors, both of them looking a little pale as she marches toward them.
“You can’t go in there, Sakura,” Kakashi tells her as she gets within arms reach; his usual exuberance has disappeared, replaced with a sombreness that matches Gai’s.
“The hell I can’t,” she growls. “Move before I make you move.”
“It’s Lady Tsunade’s orders,” Menma tells her. “You’re not permitted to treat a loved one, Sakura, you know that. It’s hospital policy and standard in the four laws of medical ninjutsu.”
“I am the student of the Sannin Tsunade,” Sakura bites out, thumbing at the seal on her forehead, “and I am exempt from those laws.”
“Not today, you aren’t,” Menma maintains. “If you step foot in that ward, Tsunade will stop treating him and restrain you herself. Are you willing to gamble with your friend’s life just to feel useful?”
His words cut a chink into the desperate fury that has been driving her since she left the restaurant.
Under the empathetic eyes of her friends, Sakura is forced to make a difficult decision: either stay here, useless, and let Tsunade do her best to heal Sasuke, or kick up a fuss and delay him getting the treatment he deserves.
She swallows a painful lump in her throat.
It’s really no choice at all.
Her shoulders slump and she lets Kakashi guide her out of the Critical Care ward and into the general waiting room.
She spends the rest of the night pacing every other hallways and demanding news from the nurses, until Lady Tsunade sends Shizune out and tells her she will be drugged and sent home if she doesn’t stop. After that she adopts a lone window that looks out onto the Critical Care ward across the courtyard and waits, trying not to imagine the horrors that could be happening over there right then.
That Sasuke’s died, or that the damage to his body is irreversible.
Her vigil lasts the night, through hours of the storm raging outside and the darkness that threatens to consume her. Kakashi and Menma come and go in the background, trying to tempt her to go home and sleep or eat something, but she ignores them, refusing to acknowledge anyone unless it’s someone with news of Sasuke.
Because Sakura has come to a bitter, belated revelation: that she is in love with Sasuke Uchiha. That she has always been in love with him, and she knows that now.
Her knowledge comes too late, because now she might not even get the chance to tell him. She has been so blind and foolish, so focussed on becoming something worth her deceased parents’ pride and trying to impress the one man who would never see her as more than a sister that she wasted their time.
Tsunade is right: Sakura shouldn’t be anywhere near him right now. She doesn’t deserve to be near him.
But…but if he dies…he’ll go without ever knowing how I feel. He’ll die thinking I don’t return his feelings and then…
And then she’ll be left without him.
Instantly, Sakura can see it – years and years of emptiness stretching out in front of her, all of her other dreams and ambitions fulfilled, but pale and colourless shadows of what she hoped for. Hollow, because there will be no one to share it with.
She presses her head against the cool window, feeling the vibrations of the raindrops on the other side of the pane, and for the first time since she lost her parents, she wishes she could die too. If Sasuke leaves her, if he dies without a word or sign or message between them, she won’t make it. Nothing has any value without him.
She belongs to him and he to her, and he’s always known that and she always insisted it wasn’t true.
The storm rages all the rest of the night and into the morning, the winds and thunder seeming to keep time with her pacing. Only as the heavy raindrops fade away and Sakura can’t take one more moment of sitting uselessly in the waiting room does she hail one of the nurses.
“Have you heard anything about Sasuke Uchiha this morning?” she asks, forcing her voice to remain steady and professional.
Under normal circumstances the staff aren’t allowed to share information with anyone that isn’t family, but everyone here knows Sakura and her desperation is clear on her face.
“The last I heard, he’s better,” the nurse says. “Lady Tsunade pulled him through the worst of it about half an hour ago. I heard her tell Lady Shizune that he’s going to make a full recovery.”
“And they’ve…they’ve figured out what was wrong with him?”
“Yes. Some underlying genetic condition, I believe. Once Lady Tsunade figured it out, she was able to heal the cause – oh! Lady Sakura, what’s wrong?”
Stunned and thankful, Sakura has burst into relieved tears and flees the hospital.

In the wake of Sasuke’s recovery, Sakura avoids going to see him.
Menma and Kakashi press her on it, but she can’t properly explain to them what the problem is; eventually they give up trying, but she sees their judgemental looks and knows she deserves them.
How is she supposed to explain that she’s afraid to face Sasuke? His family were by his side through his sickness, while she was off pursuing her own interests for a month. No one thought to inform her of his condition, because she made it utterly clear how she felt – or didn’t feel – about him, and it was only when he was dying that she let go of her stubbornness and accepted her feelings for him.
That after everything, she hardly deserves to be his friend, let alone to love him. Even if she still has his friendship, she has no idea what to say.
The self-flagellation continues unendingly for a while, even days after Sasuke is up and about. Hinata holds a party one night to celebrate his recovery (and also to apologise for her lack of tact when she told Sakura about it), and they run into each other there. They make easy conversation, exchange pleasantries and then Sakura makes an excuse that she has to work.
For the first time in their lives, Sasuke doesn’t bother to flirt with her, and she tosses and turns in bed that night thinking what that means.
A week later he comes to see her at the hospital.
“There’s a familiar sight,” he remarks, taking note of her hunched over several charts.
Sakura jumps and stares up at him, her cheeks warming both at the sight of him and being caught unawares. “S-Sasuke! What are you doing here?”
“My final check-up was today,” he says, speaking to her in the same easy tone as he always did. “As soon as I get the okay, I’m headed to the training grounds.” He pauses, and then with the same comradely grin as always, suggests, “You want to come along? It’s been a while since we sparred, and I think Menma’s picking out china patterns or something.”
Sakura looks at him rather blankly.
“I wish I could,” she says slowly, “but I can’t. There’s a viral epidemic two towns over, and Lady Tsunade has me watching vaccine samples all night. There’s no way I can get away.” She bites her lips and offers him an apologetic glance beneath her lashes. “I’m really sorry. I’d actually love to go with you.”
“What about tomorrow afternoon then, after you’ve gotten some sleep?” Sasuke asks, apparently not put-off by her refusal.
There’s a beat of hesitation, but Sakura musters a smile. “That works for me.”
Their eyes meet for a beat longer, and then she looks away.
“I’ll be back tomorrow, then,” Sasuke states. He pauses, and then adds, “Don’t work too hard tonight, or you’ll be too tired.”
He leaves before she can think of a response.
Sakura looks after him as he goes away and sighs, throwing down her pen.
Sasuke is friendly with her – a friendliness that is simultaneously a relief and torture. Their friendship is as it always was, but she finds she is no longer satisfied by that.
She wants more than his friendship, but also more than the cheap rose of a momentary fling. Without his usual one-liners or appraising looks, she can’t tell if he’s finally moved on or is just better at hiding it. She  worries that maybe he no longer feels anything for but friendship, and wonders if all her years of rejecting him have finally taken.
Sakura groans and presses her palms to her eyes.
“This is ridiculous,” she says out loud to now one. Within barely a fortnight, true love has reduced to one of those insecure girls that obsesses over a man. “I’m not doing this. I just need to…to get over it.”
If Sasuke can apparently get over her so easily, she’ll figure out how to do the same. By throwing herself into her work, if she has to. Success and ambition will have to take the place of love, and she tries to comfort herself by the fact that she’ll do great, noble work as Hokage one day, especially without having to worry about her own heart.
Unsurprisingly, she doesn’t believe herself.

When Sasuke comes to pick her up from her house the next afternoon, she takes more care than she ever has with her appearance. She knows they’re only going to train, but something in her wants him to notice her as a woman – perhaps flirt with her the way he used to.
They take the long way to the training grounds, passing through the forested paths where the trees are just beginning to change their colours.
“It’s been a while since I came this way,” Sakura says, only to fill the silence between them that falls just short of companionable.
“Me too,” Sasuke says. “I think I only ever used this way because it took longer to get to the training grounds.”
“And we still always got there before Kakashi-sensei,” Sakura agrees. “Because he always had some kind of life-or-death competition with Gai-sensei that he had to finish before training.”
“Remember our first battle as a team?”
“Yes! You passed out, I got thrown into the pond and Menma ended up buried up to his head in the ground.”
“That was still less embarrassing than having to introduce ourselves,” he says.
“That’s right! You talked for ten minutes straight about your tomato garden and how much you liked salad!”
“And Menma had that huge speech about how it was his duty to repopulate the Uzumaki clan throughout the five shinobi nations,” Sasuke remembers, shuddering. “And then Kakashi figured that was a prime teaching opportunity and gave us the sex-talk.”
“That was mortifying!”
“Speak for yourself, you didn’t have him follow you home to assure your parents that he had “dutifully ensured their son would be responsible in all matters of a sexual nature”,” Sasuke says, rolling his eyes. Then he winces and says, “Sorry.”
“No, it’s…it’s alright.”
They are quiet again.
“You were always so strong in the face of that,” Sasuke says after a while. “I don’t even know what I would do without my family, but you…it just made you stronger. Even back then, you dreamed of becoming Hokage to make them proud or die trying.”
“Well…that last part of the dream has changed,” she says lightly. “Most dreams do, over time.”
“And some don’t,” he says seriously, something resolute entering his voice. He stops walking, and Sakura is forced to do the same, staring up at him in surprise. “Things haven’t changed for me – not really. There’s something – someone – I’ve always wanted, even from back then. Maybe it was always a dream, but I’m going to keep wanting it, even if it can’t come true.”
Sakura opens her mouth to speak, but the words get stuck somewhere in her throat. It’s as if she’s been struck dumb with disbelief and a mounting terror that if she speaks she’ll break the spell of what’s happening.
“I want my family to be whole,” Sasuke continues. “I want my brother back. I want my parents to grow old surrounded by grandchildren. I want my wife to be the woman I love until I die.” He peers at her intently. “In that dream, my wife is you.” Sakura barely has a chance to acknowledge the burgeoning feeling of happiness, when he takes her hands in his. “I know I said I’d wait for you, but I’ve been thinking it over. And perhaps it’s not waiting that’s the problem. Perhaps I’ve been asking you the wrong thing all these years. I’ve been asking you out on dates, when I should have been asking you to marry me.”
Marry?!
“And so…” he takes a deep breath, vulnerability crossing his features for the first time since he started speaking, “if I ask you differently today – if I ask you if you want to spend the rest of our lives together – will you give me a different answer?”
She still can’t speak – her brain is stubbornly stalled somewhere around the word ‘love’. Instead, she lifts her eyes and gazes into his for a long moment, trying to convey her answer - nstead, she lifts her eyes and gazes into his for a long moment, trying to convey her answer – yes, yes! A million times yes, you annoying man! – and he seems to understand, because he breaks into a breathtaking smile.
And then she can’t to much else but grab him by the lapels of his shirt and drag his lips down to her own.
He makes a noise of surprise, but a beat later realises what’s happening, and then his arms are around her, pulling her in closer to him. His mouth is unexpectedly soft against her own, but it becomes harder and more demanding as the kiss deepens.
Eventually they pull away from each other, and Sasuke stares down at her, breathless.
“Is that a ‘yes’?’ he pants.
“It’s an ‘I love you’, you annoying man.”
His eyes soften. “I love you.”
She blushes and hides her face in his chest.
“I don’t understand how you could keep loving me after all this time when I’ve been such an idiot,” she says, hoping that her words are lost in the fabric of his shirt.
“I tried to stop,” he says, causing her to pull away and stare up at him in anguish. “Not because you’re an idiot – you’re not – but because it’s hard to compete with someone like Menma.”
“You’ve competed with him your whole life.”
“Yeah, on arenas where we were evenly matched. When it came to your affections, he already had them without even trying.”
“I got over Menma.”
“I know that. But I still figured I needed to give you time after he and Hinata became engaged. He was your first love, after all. If I approached you right after, it would have felt like I was rubbing it in your face,” he explains reasonably. “And I…didn’t want to be your rebound.”
“You are not my rebound,” she tells him fiercely. “And Menma was no my first love.”
He cocks his head to one-side, inquisitive.
“You were,” she says, looking away and feeling her cheeks redden. “But then one day you showed up and started handing out roses to every pretty girl within a ten foot radius and I decided I didn’t want to be just another one of your admirers.”
He stares.
“Sakura, that was before we were genin even. You already…?”
She crosses her arms, defensive, cheeks red.
To her surprise, Sasuke groans and slaps himself in the forehead. “I’m a moron.”
“A bit, yeah.”
“And here I though I needed to do something dramatic like almost die to get you to accept your feelings for me, when you already had them!”
Sakura shudders.
“Don’t joke about that,” she begs, “It’s too soon.”
Sasuke sobers. “When I was sick, Tsunade told me about how you reacted. She said you almost took out Kakashi and Menma to get to me. You’d be amazed how determined I was to get better after that.”
She smiles wanly at that and shivers.
“I’ll never forget thinking you were going to die,” she whispers. “I knew right then. It was like the world shifted. I knew and…and I thought it was too late. I thought I would lose you and have to pay for my mistake by being alone forever.”
Sasuke’s eyes soften and he pulls her close, cradling her protectively in his arms. They stand like that for longer than Sakura knows, though she doesn’t care. If he wanted to stay like this forever, she would agree without hesitation.
Except he doesn’t, because he pulls away.
“Let’s make an agreement,” he suggests. “No more waiting.”
“huh?”
“We’ll tell my parents tonight and get married as soon as we can find someone to perform the ceremony,” he goes on. “And you’ll move in with me and my family, and then you’ll never have to be alone again.”
“Move in with your…Sasuke…that’s a bit…soon,” she protests weakly. “Besides, what if they’re no…alright with…with me?”
“You know my mother loves you. And my father respects you, which he’d say is more important than liking you, but he’ll learn to. If by some fluke they disapprove, we’ll just elope.”
“They’ll disown you!”
“So what? That just means they’ll have two disowned sons. It might give them the motivation they need to accept Itachi back home,” he snorts.
“Sasuke!”
“Besides, it’s occurred to me that there’s never been an Uchiha Hokage,” he continues with the air of someone musing one of life’s greatest mysteries. “No one in my family will have a problem with my wife once you succeeds Tsunade.”
Sakura blushes darkly. “I haven’t even officially said ‘yes’ yet.”
Something dark enters Sasuke’s eyes.
“I guess I’ll have to keep convincing you then,” he tells her, and then his lips are on hers again.
She decides she likes his form of persuasion.

Cloudy With A Chance
Part 5: …of Seoul Fog.
Masterlist
Hanbin stares outside the window of his office. Pen tapping rhythmically on the messy notebook in front of him.
‘Daily Grind’ was a (ironically) weekly satirical and lifestyle magazine that he had taken a pay cut to work for. After 2 months of job interviews and being offered unpaid internships, Hanbin had gotten desperate and taken a lower paying position. That was 12 months ago. He’s grateful the chief editor took a shining to him and enjoyed his writing.
He’s also grateful that he allowed Hanbin to move into a shared office with the magazine’s star colummist. He wasn’t really looking to make any friends but Donghyuk had slowly and very surely wormed his way into his life. Their office was only on the 3rd floor but Hanbin still enjoyed staring out the window and being able to see the sky as he worked.
It was late afternoon and the sky was already a peach haze. It reminded him of the bathroom tiles at his parent’s old house but less gaudy. He picks at the wool of his soft beige jumper as he watches a group of pigeons fly from one office building to another. There weren’t many more accidental Summer-Clothes-In-Winter situations these days, partly because he made a conscious effort to check the weather report but mainly because Jiwon had gotten into the habit of sending him weather updates via badly typed texts in the morning before work.
This morning’s text: ‘cold AF! mght rain. wear smthing warm. xj’
He had no idea Jiwon was a morning person and he’s still not entirely sure if that’s down to preference or necessity. He knows that the car garage where Jiwon works opens at 7:30 but he keeps on forgetting to ask him why it’s so early.
Hanbin is definitely not a morning person. He isn’t exactly a night person either. He enjoys the time between the end of work and sleep because it was strictly his time to do as he pleased. If he’s feeling particularly motivated, he also loved twilight and the hours just before the sun rises. It makes him feel optimistic and he needs all the optimism he can get these days.
His thoughts are interrupted by the buzzing of his phone. It’s another message from Jiwon. ‘heater brke at work. its freezing. visit me when im in hospital for pneumnia. xj’
He snorts and types back: ‘can i have your snapbacks when you die?”
There’s an immediate reply: ‘only the blck ones. shit gotta get back. talk later. xj’
“You have the dopiest smile on your face right now.” He looks up as Donghyuk returns from his caffeine run and hands him a warm take-away cup.
Hanbin puts his phone down and waves a dismissive thanks. ‘I asked for tea, not redundant commentary. Save that for your lame articles.’
Donghyuk laughs as he sits at his own desk. ‘Oh you know my commentary comes free with the hot beverages.’
Hanbin takes a sip. “There’s milk in this.”
“Yup.”
“And vanilla.”
“Yup.”
“Why?”
Donghyuk gives him a cheerful smile. “It’s called a London Fog! I thought you might like it. As the young kids would say, “it suits your aesthetic”.
Donghyuk likes using air-quotes. Hanbin hates them.
“I hate air-quotes. And why can’t you just get me what I want? What’s with the daily surprises?”
Donghyuk rolls his eyes and gives Hanbin a withering look. “Do you like it?”
Hanbin says nothing.
Donghyuk nods, satisfied. “Right. Then stop being so dramatic about some cow and a vanilla bean. It’s good to try new things.”
“Why can’t you just say ‘milk’ like a normal person?” Hanbin regrets the words as soon as they leave his mouth.
“BECAUSE! I’m a writer! We need to exercise our vocabulary and literary devices! It’s like going to the gym but for your mind! I’m basically like an athlete. You’re more like….Garfield.”
“The lazy cartoon cat? You know I’m more of a dog person.” Hanbin chuckles and suddenly remembers that Jiwon is deathly afraid of cats for some reason.
“Okay you have that creepy smile on your face again. What’s up with you?” Donghyuk eyes him suspiciously as he takes a sip of his coffee. Hanbin knows he’s running scenarios in his head. It’s when Donghyuk’s eyes light up that Hanbin braces himself for the theories. “Ohhh. Are you having a text relationship? Oh wait! Is it someone in our office?!”
Hanbin grimaces at the choice of words. “What? No.”
The problem with Donghyuk is not just his dictionary brain or Mr Congeniality title in the office but the speed and accuracy of his observations. He was, as they liked to say in capital letters, The Perceptive One. Hanbin always thought he was good at reading people but then he met Donghyuk and realised that he wasn’t anywhere near his level. He remembers when Donghyuk had bought him green tea on their first caffeine run because, “You didn’t seem like a coffee person, too much nervous energy.”
It made Hanbin even more anxious but after 6 months together, he’s learnt how to deal with the panic attacks.
Right now, Donghyuk has a small smile on his face. “I bet you do….” he says in a bright sing-song voice. “I know these things Hanbin. I’m almost never wrong so you might as well just tell me.”
Hanbin looks down at his notebook and turns a page over. “There’s nothing to tell. It’s just texts from my mum about my sister.”
Donghyuk wheels his chair over to Hanbin’s desk and stops when they face each other. “You know you’re horrible at lying right? You get all twitchy.”
“I do not.” He scratches his neck but drops his hand down immediately when he realises what he’s doing.
Donghyuk doesn’t miss it and his grin just gets wider by the minute. “So. Are they cute?” He wiggles his eyebrow suggestively as he sits back in his chair and tugs at his multiple earrings.
Hanbin scowls. “We are not having this conversation.” He picks up his pen.
“Oh please. Suddenly you want to get back to work now? Come on Hanbin, it’s getting so boring around here. There hasn’t been any news since we got this office.”
“If I tell you, will you promise to never ask me about it again? Like until we retire.”
Donghyuk leans his elbows on Hanbin’s desk and rests his head on his palms. “Of course.”
“Okay. So it’s a guy. We’re just friends. We’re not dating. I don’t date. The end.”
Donghyuk’s eyes widen comically again as he gapes at Hanbin.
Hanbin starts scribbling lines on his notebook. He’s nervous but knows there’s no reason to be. He’s sure Donghyuk has figured out his preferences by now. If he can figure out his caffeine preference then he’s probably already figured out Hanbin’s human preference too.
“Wow…” Donghyuk says finally, taking off his glasses to rub his eyes. “Do you have a photo?”
Hanbin laughs. “No. I’m definitely not showing you!”
“But why? Please? My life is so empty and sad and lonely. I need to live vicariously through you.”
Hanbin shakes his head. “Okay, everything you just said is a total lie.”
“My mind needs constant stimulation. PLEASE HANBIN!”
Hanbin looks at him in alarm, eyes trying to ignore the inquisitive stares from their colleagues outside. “Oh my god! Okay! Just keep your voice down. Geez. And you call me dramatic.”
He scrolls through the photos of Jiwon on his phone until he finds one without a grimace or weird hand signs. He finally stops at a photo he took back in June’s tattoo shop. Jiwon had just turned to face the camera when Hanbin had captured it, there was no faked bravado or acting cool, it was just Jiwon with a slight look of surprise on his face.
Hanbin hesitates but eventually holds the phone screen out towards Donghyuk.
Donghyuk peers at the phone for a second then his eyes flick back and forth between Hanbin and the photo. “Are you serious?”
Hanbin frowns. “What? What’s wrong with him?”
“Oh where does one even start with Kim Jiwon?” Donghyuk murmurs under his breath.
“Wait. You know him?” Hanbin questions in shock. “How?”
“Well firstly, I know everybody.” Donghyuk states matter-of-factly. Hanbin rolls his eyes, even though he knows it’s not far from the truth. “Secondly, remember when I did a piece on imported american muscle cars coming to Seoul? I went to his garage.”
“And……?” Hanbin prompts.
“And….he’s a cool guy. Just not really someone I thought you’d be interested in.”
Hanbin knows he’s walking right into Donghyuk’s trap but curiosity gets the better of him. “Okay, what does that mean?”
Donghyuk drinks the rest of his coffee slowly. Deliberately.
“DONGHYUK!” Hanbin hisses and looks at him with all the frustration he can muster.
Donghyuk doesn’t smile though. “Promise me that you won’t get mad?”
And that’s when Hanbin knows that his day is going to end badly. “Okay. Promise.”
Donghyuk hesitates. “He seems nice Hanbin. Really. I just heard that he was dating someone here but he still has a girlfriend back in America. I’m sure it’s just a rumour that someone made up about him and you guys probably already know.”
Speechless, Hanbin just stares at him as his heart sinks and his brain short circuits from processing the information. The silence stretches to the point where Donghyuk starts looking increasingly worried.
“Oh god, I thought you knew. I’m not implying anything! Just thought you should know what people are saying since you guys are friends now. Hanbin? Are you okay? I’m so sorry. I shouldn’t have told you. I’m an idiot and you should honestly just ignore me. It’s probably not even true. You know what gossip is like….” He can hear Donghyuk rambling on but it just sounds like a muffled voice through water.
He tells himself not to dwell on disappointment because part of him always knew this would happen. People like Jiwon just don’t get involved with people as boring as him. But life is nothing but a bag of twisted irony; even when you know something is inevitable, it can still hurt you twice as much when it arrives. Preparing for an oncoming trainwreck doesn’t make the collision any less painful.
He swallows audibly and shakes his head. “It’s okay. There’s nothing to be upset about. We’re just friends. You don’t have to apologise. I’m not mad, I just didn’t know.” He offers Donghyuk a small smile which he knows comes across as blatantly fake.
Donghyuk opens his mouth to say something but thinks better of it. Instead, he reaches over to grab their empty cups to throw into the trash. “I’m really sorry Hanbin….I shouldn’t have said anything.” Donghyuk says quietly before wheeling his chair back to his desk.
Hanbin just nods as he opens his laptop, stares at the black screen and waits for it to wake up from sleep.

A Fic Year in Review - 2016
It's that time again~ And I wrote so much this year, holy shit. As usual, any concrit and comments are welcome~~ (as are requests, when open lol)
January
what are THOOOOSE a superhero's holiday
Oh jeez. Both these fics got way more attention than I thought they would. But I keep underestimating the ML fandom tbh. The first was basically me goofing around and I somehow ended up promising to write a sequel since everyone wanted one (which I...still need to do.....). The second was a flag for both my descent into ladrien hell and also a return to my nsfw ways orz;;;;
February
you are gold and silver (1/2)
IT TOOK. SO. L O N G. TO WRITE THIS. Although this fic is firmly in AU territory now thanks to being beautifully jossed by canon, it helped me realize just how much I needed to grow in order to write romantic intimacy in a believable way. So, I made it my goal to work on it until it was up to my own standards.
(I...still need to finish this fic too......)
March
jackady ladrien drabble prompts (1/2):
ribbons
fan merchandise
artistic muse
make-outs
stuck in a small place
rain
smiles
croissants
never have i ever
i want to touch them
jackady ladrien drabble prompts (2/2):
damsel in distress
beauty facial masks
visible marks
ice cream sandwiches
volpina ladrien drabble prompts (1/9):
the 4 times adrien pretended to shower to hide from ladybug (and the 1 time he was actually showering when she calls out his bullshit)
disney
halloween
tried to kiss your lips but i missed
magic
staring into each other’s eyes
Ah, the plan being put into action! With the release of actual ladrien eps, I had the perfect excuse to write romantic scenario after romantic scenario using submitted prompts. Which also meant I accidentally created a secret love affair AU and wrote more smut whoops. Still, they were super fun! I took a break halfway through to write some Inuyasha-inspired marichat that just would not leave me alone (also fun).
(....I promised to write a continuation of the 'never have i ever' prompt, didn't I alrjkdsflaks. AND TANGLED AU SHIT I ALMOST FORGOT)
April
volpina ladrien drabble prompts (2/9):
music
moaning
sweat
bath
they go on a date together
soulmate au
photographs
“i love you. i’m completely and utterly in love with you. please don’t get married.”
the one time ladybug actually catches adrien in the shower
ACTUALLY in the shower
“of all the people i could’ve gotten stuck in an elevator with and it just had to be you.”
mirror
More ladrien prompts/romance practice~ The music prompt is still one the most cracktastic things I've ever written lol. Managed to make two more AUs with this batch that I've already started to expand on: the soulmate AU and the auteur AU. Lastly, in a surprise twist, the fucking elevator prompt managed to gather over 1k in notes. Probably because I ripped off Sailor Moon but. Still.
May
volpina ladrien drabble prompts (3/9):
another shower scene
porn
away from home
“you have mom’s smile.” he said this to ladybug once, but he thinks it again and again and again. but ladybug is better: she is real.
calling bullshit
untitled continuation of a comic by pozolegirl
volpina ladrien drabble prompts (4/9):
under the covers
eyelashes
mega nachos
“i heard that the spots on your bodysuit corresponds to chakra points? so… what happens if i touch this?”
cute nose/forehead kisses
their first time
happiness
“i need you to pretend we’re dating…”
“is there anything you’re not good at?”
More Volpina prompts! Again, I like experimenting with them :D Also wrote a continuation of that Christmas comic because it was just way too cute~~
June
ladrien june 2016 drabble prompts (1/6):
love poem
awkwardness
games
i can show you the world
first love
everyone can see it
shower scene
jealousy
it’s a trap
insecurities
sins cannot be undone
ladrien june 2016 drabble prompts (2/6):
jealous fangirls/boys
“you have her smile”
gabriel | hawkmoth’s reaction
it’s not you, it’s my enemies
secret dating
window kisses
Oooooh boy. The triple whammy of Ladrien June, Ramadan, and starting my summer job. I was excited to have a month dedicated to just ladrien (as if I hadn't already dedicated most of my year to it lol) but fell behind pretty quickly thanks to my lack of free time. I aim to finish them this year!
And Ramadan. Man. It always sends my mental health straight into the toilet. Not because of the holiday itself, but because of the way my family treats it. Idk. I tried to flush away the bad feelings by punching out 'sins cannot be undone' in one night. And it helped, I suppose. It's definitely the rawest thing I wrote this year and I still have very strong feelings about it.
July
three sentence prompts:
ladynoir, spy au
nino and marinette, karaoke au
ladrien, bodyguard au
ladrien, superman/lois lane au
adrien and tikki, baking au
alix and kim, and the one-time-max-actually-won au
alya and marinette, vigilante au
adrienette, foreign countries
ladynoir, and the elevator game/ritual
Between work and writing various wips that I still haven't posted yet (*coughcoughconjugalvisitcough*), I only posted stuff from this meme. I had fun (the goal) and the adrien&tikki kwamiswap AU one is still my fave |D *slams fists on table* LET ADRIEN BE A BAKER!!!!
August
untitled continuation of a comic by geek-fashionista insomaniac and the chaton pile
UMMMM My summer job ended by this point, so my only excuse for not posting much is it's all tied up in unpublished wips and...I was freaking out about starting school next month for the first time in y e a r s;;; Just some drabbles for the sidekick AU (not mine) and my own, sleep-deprived ideas (that I...still find hilarious alkdjfhalksd I DID NOT EXPECT ANYONE ELSE TO???)
September
volpina ladrien drabble prompts (5/9):
embarrassing hobbies (aka: adrien is secretly a popular ladynoir fanfic writer)
water
mlnsfweek prompts (1/3):
laughter
roleplay
make 'em blush
we've got time
"i can’t believe we survived" sex
wet dreams
virginity
STILL REALLY STRESSED ABOUT SCHOOL, which translated into a lot of writing. Did a couple of Volpina prompts, including time ≠ water. Which. Got way more attention than I expected;;;; And that I...also promised to expand on......;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;
And then #mlnsfweek hit and I'm actually really proud of myself for finishing the whole week, even if it was late~ /o/ Did some random scenarios, including some futurefic for the timebreaker AU. I still cackle every time I think of the wet dreams prompt tbh XDDD
October
volpina ladrien drabble prompts (6/9):
inside a video game
horror movies
“who crawls through someone’s window at 4 am to go for ice cream?!”
aching muscles from running all over the city, and then: "would a massage help?"
chocolate
discovering their sensitive spots
“so close” from enchanted
As usual, more Volpina prompts in between school and wips. Not really much to say except it was around now (or maybe September? My memory is horrible) that I realized I had developed a pretty good grasp on romance and could start working on upping my daily wordcount. I really want the mental stamina to complete a chapter fic one day...
November
mlnsfweek prompts (2/3):
marks
School REALLY started to pick up in difficulty and I signed up for a fic exchange and a fanzine. Despite really wanting to, I didn't have time or energy to do more than one prompt for the #mlnsfweek redux, but I plan to complete it~ I have Ideas.
December
oh, the things i do for you (the bubbler remix)
volpina ladrien drabble prompts (7/9):
bruises and scars
cold hands, warm hearts
I'm never, ever committing to more than one fic deadline near exam time ever again. I nearly died last month as I rushed to complete these fics, my studying, and prep for my vacation that started right after exams (I'm still recovering;;;). The remix is currently the longest fic I've written to date, including my wips! Holy shit!!!
Both were done very last minute, but I'm pretty happy with how they turned out. I tried to finish the last of the Volpina prompts before the end of the year, but alas, time was not on my side. Better luck next year~ :'D
Total Year’s Output: ....58,718 words;;;
Looking back, did you write more fic than you thought you would this year, less, or about what you’d predicted?
.......This is almost twice as much as I did last year. I actually passed the NaNoWriMo standard. Oh my god. There is no fucking way I would have predicted this last year. And that's not counting all the wips aaaaaaaaAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHH—
What pairing/genre/fandom did you write that you would never have predicted in January 2016?
Uhhhh, Bustier/Mendeleiev, definitely. Also DjWifi?? I just wasn't into it at all last year, but now I'm rooting for them. Also, I did not expect to write this much smut, but here we are. ALSO MARIE/ADRIEN/MARINETTE AKA THE OT3 AKA LOVE SQUARED (the homestuck in me will never die)
What’s your favourite story of the year? Not the most popular, but the one that makes you happiest.
Happy...? Hmmmm....There's stuff that makes me laugh, that I'm proud of...
...I know it's not published yet or even done, but...probably conjugal visit. Not only is it chock full of my favourite type of ladrien, it's...sort of my thesis on emotional intimacy? It's proof of my progress. I look at it and I can feel my determination to grow and to move on from the mental rut I was stuck in for most of my life, that I won't let my past keep my from recognizing my own emotions and learning empathy, not forever.
(Maybe that's pride and contentment and hope more than happiness, but I'll damn well take it)
Do you have any fanfic or profic goals for the New Year?
I ALWAYS SAY THIS but...I really want to finish my wips.....and I want to start an actual chaptered fic. Not a one-shot collection or a drabble collection. Long, plotty, gen or romance (or both!!), chapter fic. I want to write something that will keep people up all night, lying to themselves when they say 'just one more chapter'. I think I actually have a shot at completing one now, at my current skill and confidence level |D

I did this fic review last year and my brain is having one of those moments where it wants to do something but it doesn’t know what and some fun maths might solve that. That’s actually not sarcasm, maths was one of my favouirte subjects at school, I was even in the Maths Club throughout Key Stage 3, stayed after school once a week to do extra maths for fun. We did also get to eat the leftover biscuits from the lunch hall though instead of them throwing them out. Anyway, he’s a fic review
Total stories written: 61 (/144- 42.36%)- one of these was only added to, not published
Total words written: 232,229 (/799076- 29.06%%)
Average words per story [mean; rounded to nearest full digit]: 3807 (5549- 68.61%
Shortest story: Jitters Yet Again (168 words)
Longest story: Beans (101948 words)
Most common:
Fandom: The Flash (47 works inculding crossovers- 77%)
Pairing: Iris West/Barry Allen and Cisco Ramon/Hartley Rathway- tied with 6 each, including tagged as a minor relationship Westallen goes up to 10 works)
From the past year, what was:
Most challenging to write: Beginnings, although I did have a full first draft and have for years it was the last bit of the Milk and Sugar ‘verse to write, and trying to find a good end and honestly to let go of this huge project I’ve been working on for years and say “done now” was harder than I’d thought
Most under-appreciated: Maybe The Lovers and The Dreamers, it was written for Writer’s Month so wasn’t exactly a huge great project and it was for the Soulmate AU prompt and, while I sometimes enjoy reading them, I didn’t have any plans to ever write one because the idea of “here’s your one forever person you were destined for the moment you were born” isn’t really appealing to me, and maybe another title would fit it better, I was just having trouble thinking of one and had Rainbow Connection stuck in my head, but I actually have a lot of thoughts about this one looking back
Most fun to write: I did enjoy writing Ghosting
Biggest disappointment: Possibly Pumpkin and Ghost, that was for Hartmon Halloween and I didn’t have the time or found the right words to actually put down the whole thing that was in my head, or maybe Jitters Yet Again, coffee shop AU is a really common prompt for things and I completely ran out of ideas for yet another coffee shop AU, I don’t like coffee and I’ve never been in a coffee shop
Favourite opening lines: “See, the thing was, Central City was super weird. Everyone knew Star City was just a political mess, Metropolis had alien invasions like every other month, there was a clause on Cisco's life insurance policy that it wasn’t valid in Coast City, and Gotham had so much crime they literally named a street Crime Alley, like what the heck. Even Detroit had their own vigilante when Cisco left but Vixen seemed to know what she was doing. If she could sort out some of the crime, that would be great. And honestly, when the offer came in from Mercury Labs that they had a higher paying promotion for him in Central where he would get to run a small lab and design whatever he wanted, how could he possibly say no? He'd have considered Gotham for that. He wouldn't have taken it, but he would have considered it. But it wasn't Gotham, it was Central, bright and sunny Central, it would be fine.” from The Superhero in the Bath, those poor ordinary people who want to do things like take their kids to school and go to work and do groceries and walk the dog but who unfortunatley live in a comic book.
Favourite closing lines: “First, she had to find the Mirror Master.” from Silver Dreams, actually I couldn’t think of one specific one and this was another Writer’s Month fic so was only a couple of hours work but maybe it’s a way for Iris to get some clues how to get out the mirror, maybe she really is just dreaming, maybe it’s actually paralelling the “real world” and Barry’s gone looking for Scudder to see if he can persuade him to help somehow, who knows
Other favourite lines:  “’I was just making sure,’ Barry said, and he darted forwards, his hands cupping Cisco’s face, and he pressed their lips together. He was being so gentle, so cautious, and Cisco reached into the ground beneath them and tugged. Just a little. Just a little he could give to Barry. Please, he only wanted what Eobard had stolen, just a little, Magic said it didn’t have to start as Life.” from The Night Shift, Cisco’s just going to save his friend he was fake dating and who just confessed to being in love with him by making out, it’s a literal kiss of life, can I count this as a pun or not
Goals from last year:
- Finish the Milk and Sugar ‘verse- done
- Writer’s Month and FlashVibe Week- done
- Write a FlashVibe Urban Fanatsy AU- done
- Learn to spell epilogue or how to enable Firefox’s spell check- maybe this year
Goals for next year:
I’ve already published 2 fics this year which I have taken out of the statstics but have brought the total word count to just over 800,000, and I have written over 200,000 words two years running, I’m not writing the Milk and Sugar ‘verse anymore so maybe this year I will write less but I could potentially have over a million words published on AO3 either by the end of this year or maybe next year which might be quite fun
I did tell my brain it was allowed to write the Wally fic once the Milk and Sugar ‘verse is done, that and the Questing Flower are my two WIPs I think are going to be long fics so maybe if I try and finish one of those this year, or at least come up with an actual title for the Wally fic
