Princess
Gendry x Lannister!Reader
Prompt 55 - “Shut up and kiss me already”
(Gets a tiny bit smutty at the end, plus this is kinda long, so buckle up darlings!)
Tumblr media
You watched him work in silence, occasionally looking away, pretending to be interested in something else, before looking back at him again, not being able to keep your gaze off of him for much longer. It was no wonder, with how deep in thought you were, that you yelped and jumped half a mile when you felt a gloved hand on your shoulder, turning to see a King’s Guard, your heart pounding against your chest “yes?” your tone held a slight annoyance, an annoyance for ruining your day with whatever was needed of you now, “Princess (Y/N), the Queen sent me for you, she wishes to speak with you” you nodded, looking down before briefly back to him, seeing him already looking at you, making your cheeks turn as red as the colors of your mother’s house. You quickly moved towards the Red Keep, the King’s Guard following closely behind, barely able to escort you as he was told due to the speed you held.
You entered your mother’s chambers, seeing her stand by her balcony with a glass of wine in her hand. You knew who your mother was, and you knew who your real father was. Your mother used to say you got your wits from your grandfather, and your beauty from her. You were born barely a year after Joffrey, your mother fell pregnant soon after giving birth to him, but you were nothing like Joffrey, he was cruel, childish and enjoyed tormenting Tommen, something you despised. You were the exact opposite, you were beautiful, kind, curious and intelligent. On one hand, Joffrey was impulsive, you, on the other, was cautious. But despite what you knew, despite your mother’s flaws, how you were disobedient more than her other children, she adored you. You were her first born daughter, and you couldn’t deny the love your mother held for you, you had been offered a lot of suitors already, but your mother shooed them off one way or another, either they disappeared, or she simply cut off your contact with them, which was why you didn’t want her to know of where you went in the city, something you felt was about to be discussed.
“You’ve been spending a lot of time in the city… with the peasants” she didn’t even look at you as she spoke, and you knew she was scared, for all her flaws, she loved her children, and you knew how she despised being sold off to the King Robert, you knew that she felt like a horse being sold to whoever paid the most, and you also knew, that she was scared that would happen to you, and Myrcella. “Yes” you answered courtly, seeing her turn around, studying you, spotting the mud, or at least what she hoped was mud, on the bottom of your dress. “Why?” she asked sharply, walking towards you “why do you bother with the peasants? You’re a princess, they mean nothing compared to you” she was never afraid of stating her opinion of the common folk, something that you tried your hardest to ignore “because I like to see how they’re doing under my father’s reign” she glanced at you out of the corner of her eye at your words, you both knew that you knew, but none of you had ever spoken about it, so you were not surprised when she looked down, gliding over the topic “I like to see how they live, if they are well” you continued, ignoring her sharp glare, shrugging your shoulders lightly. “You won’t do it again” she stated after a long silence, making your jaw drop, and you wanted to spew a long list of very unlady like words at her “but-”
“No, this is final” she interrupted, and you just stared at her “I will not have you mingle with the common folk” she added, sipping her wine, and you couldn’t hold back your scoff, glaring at her “one of these days, you’re going to lose me, not because I want to leave you, but because you make me” you spat at her, walking past the King’s Guard and to your room, not noticing the way your mother’s eyes softened at your words, before hardening again as she remembered the King’s Guard “you’re dismissed” you said to him, and he bowed and left.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
You wrapped a shawl around your Lannister golden hair, it was early, way earlier than you had ever woken up, but you wanted nothing more than to go back out into the city, you didn’t lie when you said that you wanted to see how the people were doing, you were just more focused on one person instead of the entire population of King’s Landing. This wasn’t as much about the handsome Blacksmith apprentice anymore, as it was not being a prisoner, being locked up in the Red Keep for the rest of your life.
You were almost out of the Red Keep, almost, until you heard some armor clanking behind you and you froze, closing your eyes briefly before turning around, ready to make a scene to go out. You were met by a Lannister Guard, narrowing your eyes at him “yes?” you were ready, you prepared yourself for the inevitable fight that would come, but it shocked you to hear what he said “I’m here to escort you through the city, Princess (Y/N)” your eyes were as wide as dinner plates at his words “on whose orders?” you barely registered your own words before they left your mouth “on the Queen’s orders, Princess”, you narrowed your eyes at him in suspicion, thinking it over before nodding “just… stay back, please?” the guard nodded at your statement, though barely kept any distance as you had requested, but you couldn’t help but smirk at the idea that popped into your head.
You leaned against a wall as you panted, trying to regain your breath. You had lost the guard your mother sent with you, making you smirk in victory, the Blacksmith right around the corner, you just needed to catch your breath first, that is.
“What’s got you panting?” you snapped your head towards the sound of the voice, turning to see the one person you had been looking at for months now. Your mouth opened and closed like a fish out of water, trying to come up with a response as he approached you “I-... I was, uh… I was-”
“Watching me” he interrupted you, and all the color drained from your face at his statement, he knew. He stalked closer to you, with every step forward he took, you took a step back, your back eventually hitting the wall “for weeks now, actually. Why?” he narrowed his eyes at you as he studied you, and you quickly looked down, avoiding his gaze “I-... I don’t know…” you mumbled, making him scoff, looking at you confused “so you’ve been watching me for weeks now, for no reason?” he asked in a low tone, watching you nod, then quickly shake your head, then shrug.
A smile tugged at his lips when you finally looked up at you, and he noticed your beautiful green eyes that held small flecks of gold in them, and you felt his calloused fingers as he placed a stray hair of gold behind your ear, it must’ve been tugged loose when you ran from your mother’s guard, you thought. You unintentionally leaned into his touch, making the smile on his lips grow just a tiny bit, “what’s your name?” he asked quietly, his hand still cupping your cheek, making sure your beautiful eyes stayed on him “(Y/N)” you whispered, leaving out the ‘Baratheon’ part. He nodded, you were both so close now, your noses almost touching, and you had barely noticed that he had moved closer, too caught up in his hand on your cheek, “I’m Gendry” he whispered back before letting his lips touch yours, what started as a soft kiss turned into a more heated one, the hand that cupped your cheek went to the back of your head, his other went to your hips, holding you against him as your hands rested on his chest. You didn’t mind that he was covered in soil and dirt, in fact, you liked it. He was nothing like the high lords who all approached with their pitiful gifts, hoping to win your heart through something that wasn’t them, but Gendry, Gendry was everything they were not, you had seen him be kind to strangers, you had seen him work his metal, and seen how he wasn’t afraid to get dirty, and you liked it, you more than liked it, you loved it.
As you were kissing he pulled back, at first you thought something was wrong, but then you noticed how he just looked at you with adoration “you’re so beautiful...” he mumbled, studying your face as you blushed at his words “you’re like an angel or something” he mumbled, making you giggle slightly “shut up and kiss me already” you pulled him back to your lips, resuming the kiss he had broken before.
You were so wrapped up in feeling his lips on yours, feeling the way his hand gripped your hip, how his thumb gently rubbed small circles on your waist. You felt at home, safe, and you couldn’t help but feel the muscles under his tunic, making you moan into the kiss, making him do everything he could to hear that sound again. His hand left your hip, going much higher, but still holding back, so that if you wanted you could always back off, you could always leave. ut you didn’t, you let him feel his way to your chest, you let him cup your breast in one hand, making you moan as he squeezed it lightly, and he took the chance to slip his tongue into your mouth, exploring as much of it as he could before you both had to part, needing air. You panted as you looked up at him, and he adored the sight of you, your lips slightly parted, your cheeks red and your lips bruised from kissing, your chest rising up and down in time with your breath, showing just how out of breath you were.
You were about to lean up for another kiss when you heard the clanking of familiar armor, making you groan, Gendry looking at you confused “what is it? Are you in some trouble?” you glanced at him, your brows furrowing “I saw you, the other day, with that King’s Guard” he admitted, his cheeks slightly red from the fact that he just admitted to watching you as well. You gently shook your head “no, no I’m not” your hands left his chest, and he took that as his sign to let go of you, though he was not exactly happy about it. You were about to say something else when the guard turned the corner “Princess (Y/N)! Is this scum bothering you?” he had a hand on the hilt of his sword, and your eyes widened “no! No he’s not” you quickly said, stepping in between the guard and Gendry, who stared at you with wide eyes, not believing his ears “well… you should get back to the Red Keep, Princess” you mentally cursed him, ‘stop calling me that!’, you thought, damn near exploding when he did it again “come along Princess, we wouldn’t want to worry your mother” there was almost a slight tone of fear at his last statement, making you sigh and nod, walking towards him before turning to Gendry “see you tomorrow” you whispered, smirking at him as he just stood there in the alley, watching you walk away with a guard from the Lannister army. Gendry couldn’t help but scoff, a smirk on his lips as he shook his head at you. Princess, you were a princess, and one interested in him at that.

Born To Be Yours | Part II
Sansa Stark x Fem! Baratheon! Reader (Daenerys Targaryen x Fem! Baratheon! Reader eventually)
Season 1-8
Word Count: 1,795
Note: I’m back!!!
Part 1 here Pt.3 Pt.4 Pt.5 Pt.6 Pt.7 Pt.8 Pt.9
Tumblr media
“You shouldn’t interfere when it’s none of your business.” Joffrey was still angry with you.
“Don’t mess with the ladies and we’ll be in peace.” You calmly said.
“Always so honorable... the hero saving the day.” Your mother mocked.
“Why you say it like that, mother? I would do it over again, you are so heartless and extreme about little matters.” You rolled your eyes.
“You don’t care about your brother's honor. That’s the real reason you defended those pathetic girls.” She spat.
“I do care about him. It’s the other way around. You are a pampered kid. You should start acting more like a man, Joffrey.” And with that you left his room.
“May I come in, princess?” The sweet voice of the oldest Stark daughter rang. You were on just a pair of trousers, definitely not wearing proper clothes to be talking to her.
“Of course, my lady. Just give me a second, please.” You put on a dress. “Let her in.”
“I wanted to apologize for my earlier behavior. You saved my wolf’s life, I’ll be forever thankful, my princess.”
“It was the right thing to do. I would have preferred her to stay by your side, though.”
“She’ll find a new home. I hope she returns to the north, where she belongs.” You gave her a soothing smile. “Does prince Joffrey hates me?” She asked sadly.
“No no, he is just a bit... irritating and gets easily offended. But it’s not personal, my lady. You are promised to him so with time your relationship will evolve.”
“I hope so. I’ll leave you to enjoy your evening, my princess.”
“Lady Sansa, if you need someone to talk to you can always come to me. You and your sister. I pray for your little brother to wake up. She nodded.
“You are very kind.”
~~~~~~
“Did you found a suitable candidate up in the North, niece?” Uncle Renly asked with a droll voice.
“I met a boy... very good looking and a gentleman but he wasn’t my type. He’s the eldest son of Lord Eddard.”
“Sounds quite the man.”
“We didn’t have the chance to get closer so I’ll forget about him.” You might never see him again after all.
“Princess Y/N, what can I do for you?” The tall man greeted.
“I haven’t had the chance to thank you, my lord, for accepting to be the new hand. I know it was a difficult choice to make, leaving your home. My father really needs you. He lacks of loyal friends and I believe you’ll be very helpful around here.”
“Oh, I will do my best not to let Robert down.” He smiled.
“A raven came this morning. I- I forgot to deliver it earlier, my lord hand.” Maester Pycelle said with his usual stutter and left.
“Good news?”
“My Princess! I didn’t expect to see you.” A voice that didn’t please you stated.
“Lord Baelish.” You faked a perfect smile.
“Lord Stark, perhaps you’ll like to share the news with your wife.”
“She’s on Winterfell.”
“Is she?”
“I won’t tell my mother. Lord Baelish knows I can keep a secret. Can I join you?” The relation you had with Petyr was not the best. He informed you of things your parents won’t share with you. Despite that you never liked him nor his personality.
“Better not keep her waiting.” You reached his brothel unnoticed.
“I’ll talk to her when you’re done. I’m not a spy. I can be trusted but I prefer to stay out of your business, Lord Eddard.” And it was true. You had no interest in gossiping.
“Thank you.” They entered. Not before he took Baelish and throttle him suspecting this was a trick.
“Lady Catelyn.” You bowed your head.
“Princess Y/N, what a surprise...” She looked at you with dismay.
“It’s fine. I won’t tell a soul. I am glad to hear that little Bran is finally awake. And also, I wanted to let you know that I’ll keep your daughters safe. Now that you both are here I give you my word. My family is complicated and tends to have a reputation. I will look after Lady Sansa and Lady Arya, as long as I can, I promise.” Since the incident with the direwolves you had this enormous feeling of responsibility, deep down you knew their stay in King’s Landing won’t be as enjoyable as they thought. You hoped you were wrong. Prevention was a good idea.
“I will be in your debt, my princess. Knowing this gives me relief. It’s hard to find good people here in the capital.”
“It certainly is. Say hello to Lord Robb from me.” You wished her good travel home but sensed trouble in her.
~~~~~~
“Y/N! Want to spar? I’m so bored and Myrcella is doing lady stuff.” Tommen asked you, holding his little sword.
“That’s not proper for a princess to do and mother doesn’t approve.” Joffrey hissed.
“But father does. We are not useless like yourself, big brother.” You rumpled your brother’s hair. “Let’s go Tommen.” You found Arya in the courtyard with his dancing teacher. “Mind if we join the class?”
“This is Syrio Forel, he is from Braavos.”
“My Princess, my Prince.” He did a small reverence.
“I want to learn how to be a knight!” Tommen said excitedly. After a long time practicing you got tired. Syrio was surprised when he saw the way you wield the wooden blade.
“Natural talent, Princess Y/N.”
“Thank you. My father was the first person that taught me how to properly do it so I can defend myself when there are no guards around. Ser Jaime also instructed me of some techniques.”
“That’s my intent too. Not wearing dresses and attending to councils. I was born for this.” Arya said sure.
“No one will be able to stop you when you are old enough, perhaps not even now.” She grinned.
You could see yourself in this girl, you have a lot in common. She was fearless and didn’t seem to want to marry a lord and live in a castle. You could also see the similarities between Lady Sansa and you. You love to fight and go hunting, use a bow, but you knew how to weave as well, how to properly greet the lords and ladies, and you wished to get married someday. You were a proper daughter, with dignity and manners, your father was always more fond of you, your mother on the other hand... she loved you in her own way, you were the perfect child in everyone’s eyes.
“Lady Sansa, I am happy to know your brother is fine.” You put a hand on her shoulder.
“He won’t be able to walk ever again. But it was a miracle. Thanks for your prayers.” She answered.
“Would you like to visit the Throne Room? Your septa can join us.” She nodded.
“Someday your husband will sit there and you by his side, then you’re going to present your son to the court. All the important people of the Seven Kingdoms will gather here to see the prince.” Septa Mordane stated.
“What if I have a girl?” The Stark inquired.
“If the gods are good you’ll have girls and boys, plenty of them.”
“They all going to be beautiful children. Just like her mother.” You complemented.
“But if I only had girls...”
“The throne will pass to Tommen, my little brother.”
“And everyone will hate me.” She harried said.
“No one could ever hate you, Sansa.” Her septa affirmed.
“Your Septa is right, my lady. I already told you. As your friend, I won’t let anybody speak ill of you. Besides, you are lovely.” You squeezed her hand.
“Thank you, my princess.”
“Sansa, do you remember your lessons? Who built the Iron Throne?”
“Aegon the conqueror.”
“And who built the Red Keep?”
“Maegor the cruel. My grandfather and uncle were murdered here, by orders of the Mad King. Why?”
“You should speak to your father about these matters.”
“You are dismissed.” The old woman left. You walked towards the throne indicating her to follow you.
“Would you like to seat on the throne, my lady? It’s not a comfortable chair but it was forged from the one thousand swords that had been surrendered to Aegon in the War of Conquest by the lords who had offered their fealty, though the actual number of the swords is less than two hundred. These were melted down by the fiery breath of Balerion the Black Dread.” You conclude telling her.
“You seem to like these type of stories, Princess. Your knowledge for the topic is quite vast.” She was surprised yet amused.
“Yes, I enjoy to read and uncle Tyrion told me a lot about this when I was just a little girl. What kind of stories enthralled you, sweet lady?”
“The ones with honorable knights, chivalry and love.” A dreamt sigh left her mouth.
“I like those too. Especially this tale about Ser Florian called Florian the Fool, he was a legendary hero of the Riverlands from the Age of Heroes. He felt in love with a maiden named Jonquil. Singers compared the sudden marriage of King Jaehaerys I Targaryen and Queen Alysanne Targaryen to their great romance.
“I know that one! Is my favorite tale of all time. But I didn’t know they compared them with the Targaryens of that period. It’s very romantic.” She blushed a little.
“And one of the songs... I think this is how it goes, Six maids there were in a spring-fed pool... oh my gods! I sound terrible.”
“No! You have an adorable voice, princess Y/N.” You grinned.
“You are lying! I found that song a bit creepy. He was watching Jonquil and her sisters bathed. The face of the girl turned just like her hair. I didn’t mean to ruin it.” Both of you laughed.
“It’s alright. I still love it.” The throne room was never your favorite place to be, it was hollow and boring. You imagine all the horrible things that happened here. But now with the presence of such a pretty lass it felt different, not gloomy at all.
The next day it was the tournament in the name of Eddard Stark. Though the man didn’t attend. You sat next to the oldest Baratheon boy. Tommen was inpatient so as your father. Lady Sansa smiled at your brother but he looked away, avoiding her completely.
“Is it so hard to be nice at your lady?”
“Shut up.” You return the smile to her. She was half disappointed it wasn’t Joffrey and half happy you did notice her.
“Start the damn joust before I pissed myself!” And the opponents made their appearance. Ready to begin.

Note
Daenerys's heart is a dragon not like Cersei's heart who was Tommen has belong to someone else, and even Sansa's heart will be herself.
I got this ask in reference to this post that I wrote back in 2017, especially this quote:
Someplace no stag ever found … though a dragon might.
—A Feast for Crows - Brienne III
I don’t really get your message Anon, I didn’t mention Dany’s or Cersei’s heart in my post.   So, I will repeat my point for anyone interested:
“Where?” Brienne slapped another silver stag down.
He flicked the coin back at her with his forefinger. “Someplace no stag ever found … though a dragon might.” Silver would not get the truth from him, she sensed. Gold might, or it might not. Steel would be more certain. Brienne touched her dagger, then reached into her purse instead. She found a golden dragon and put in on the barrel. “Where?”
—A Feast for Crows - Brienne III
From this last quote I want to rescue this line: “Someplace no stag ever found… though a dragon might.” These words are talking about stags and dragons, not silver and gold, just the animals that the coins bare on one side. The stag is the sigil of House Baratheon and the dragon is the sigil of House Targaryen. And this makes me think about the Tourney at Ashford Meadow, where the first and the fifth of its final champions belonged to these houses. And according to this theory: “When you look at the names of the champions’ families and the fact they fight for a 13 year old maid, especially with the family Hardyng, we find out that they correspond strongly with Sansa’s suitors in A Song of Ice and Fire.” (*)
So, following the pattern established by the five final champions of the Tourney at Ashford Meadow, I believe that the stag in this line represents Joffrey Baratheon (Sansa’s first betrothed), while the Dragon who might find Sansa is Jon Snow, the Targaryen Champion (Sansa’s actual betrothed). This last idea is going to be developed throughout this post.
(*) I would like to make some precisions:  1) The events of the Tourney at Ashford Meadow developed in ‘The Hedge Knight’ novella.  2) The champions are the final five after the first day of jousting.  We don’t know the results after the second day of jousting and the third day was the Trial of Seven.  3) The queen of love and beauty at the beginning of the tourney was the 13 years old daughter of Lord Ashford.  The champions weren’t fighting for her, the final five champions after the third day of jousting would decide if they crowned a new QoLaB or not.
(…)
Let’s go back to this line: “Someplace no stag ever found… though a dragon might.” In the text the word ‘someplace’ refers to where Brienne’s supposed “sister” is -the beautiful highborn maid of three-and-ten that has blue eyes and auburn hair-.  But in the history of ASOIAF universe, the word ‘someplace’ could also refer to the heart of a Stark girl.
Joffrey and Jon, Jon and Joffrey. I have a theory about them, I called it the ‘JoJo Theory’. Maybe one day I will turn my thoughts on them into words. But for now, let’s talk about these two in relation to Sansa.
Joffrey and Jon are supposed to be the sons of two best friends: Robert Baratheon and Ned Stark respectively. But none of them are really that.  And I think they both were living the other’s life.  I mean, Joffrey took Jon’s real place in the world, as Jon took Joffrey’s.
Joffrey, who is supposed to be the trueborn son and heir of King Robert Baratheon, is truly a little shit bastard, the illegitimate child of Jaime Lannister. And he is the vicious, despicable type of bastard as well.
On the other hand, Jon who is suppose to be the baseborn son of Ned Stark, is actually the son of Prince Rhaegar Targaryen and the last Targaryen heir to the Iron Throne.  And he is the very opposite of the vicious, despicable Joffrey.  Jon is brave and has a noble heart.
Also note that the real fathers of Joffrey and Jon are the men who Cersei and Lyanna choose over Robert; that is to say: Jaime and Rhaegar.
So, reading again this line: “Someplace no stag ever found… though a dragon might.”, we know that in the past that line was true, as Robert Baratheon never found his way to Lyanna Stark’s heart unlike Prince Rhaegar Targaryen.  And it could be true again, in the future, as Joffrey (no stag) never really found his way to Sansa’s heart, but Jon (who is also a dragon) might do. Let’s see:
His half sisters escorted the royal princes. Arya was paired with plump young Tommen, whose white-blond hair was longer than hers. Sansa, two years older, drew the crown prince, Joffrey Baratheon. He was twelve, younger than Jon or Robb, but taller than either, to Jon’s vast dismay. Prince Joffrey had his sister’s hair and his mother’s deep green eyes. A thick tangle of blond curls dripped down past his golden choker and high velvet collar. Sansa looked radiant as she walked beside him, but Jon did not like Joffrey’s pouty lips or the bored, disdainful way he looked at Winterfell’s Great Hall.
—A Game of Thrones - Jon I
Jon was obviously jealous of Joffrey, in the same fashion he was of Robb. Joffrey was ‘trueborn’, a royal prince, the heir of the Iron Throne, with a place of honor at the table just below the dais where the King and Queen were seated, handsome, taller than him despite being younger, and on top of all that, Joffrey got the beautiful radiant girl by his side. Jon just couldn’t believe why, while having all of that, Joffrey and his pouty wormy lips gave Winterfell’s Great Hall a bored and disdainful look.
You don’t believe Jon was jealous of Joffrey? Read this then:
“Then you saw us all. Prince Joffrey and Prince Tommen, Princess Myrcella, my brothers Robb and Bran and Rickon, my sisters Arya and Sansa. You saw them walk the center aisle with every eye upon them and take their seats at the table just below the dais where the king and queen were seated.”
“I remember.”
“And did you see where I was seated, Mance?” He leaned forward. “Did you see where they put the bastard?”
—A Storm of Swords - Jon
I know that in this scene, Jon was trying to convince Mance that he really wanted to join the freefolk.  He was trying to deceive him and infiltrate into the enemy’s camp.  Despite that, the things Jon said to Mance at that moment, rang true.  So in the end, Jon did convince Mance and he ended up joining the freefolk, as a covert mission entrusted to him by Qhorin Halfhand.
Still you don’t believe me when I said Jon was jealous of Joffrey? Listen to Sansa herself then:
“What did you think of Prince Joff, sister? He’s very gallant, don’t you think?”
“Jon says he looks like a girl,” Arya said.
Sansa sighed as she stitched. “Poor Jon,” she said. “He gets jealous because he’s a bastard.”
“He’s our brother,” Arya said, much too loudly. Her voice cut through the afternoon quiet of the tower room.
—A Game of Thrones, Arya I
Now tell me that Jon saying ‘Joffrey looks like a girl’ is not proof enough of Jon Snow being obviously jealous of the crown prince.
But Jon Snow who knows nothing, except, maybe, that Joffrey is truly a little shit, has no idea that Joffrey was living his life.
And his sisters cousins, Sansa and Arya, unbeknownst to him, expose this truth to Ned while talking about Joffrey’s hair color (note that Ned always knew who Jon’s real father is):
“Father, I only just now remembered, I can’t go away, I’m to marry Prince Joffrey.” She tried to smile bravely for him. “I love him, Father, I truly truly do, I love him as much as Queen Naerys loved Prince Aemon the Dragonknight, as much as Jonquil loved Ser Florian. I want to be his queen and have his babies.”
“Sweet one,” her father said gently, “listen to me. When you’re old enough, I will make you a match with a high lord who’s worthy of you, someone brave and gentle and strong. This match with Joffrey was a terrible mistake. That boy is no Prince Aemon, you must believe me.”
“He is!“ Sansa insisted. “I don’t want someone brave and gentle, I want him. We’ll be ever so happy, just like in the songs, you’ll see. I’ll give him a son with golden hair, and one day he’ll be the king of all the realm, the greatest king that ever was, as brave as the wolf and as proud as the lion.
"Arya made a face. "Not if Joffrey’s his father,” she said. “He’s a liar and a craven and anyhow he’s a stag, not a lion.”
—A Game of Thrones - Sansa III
"All three are Jaime’s,” he said. It was not a question.
“Thank the gods.”
The seed is strong, Jon Arryn had cried on his deathbed, and so it was. All those bastards, all with hair as black as night. Grand Maester Malleon recorded the last mating between stag and lion, some ninety years ago, when Tya Lannister wed Gowen Baratheon, third son of the reigning lord. Their only issue, an unnamed boy described in Malleon’s tome as a large and lusty lad born with a full head of black hair, died in infancy. Thirty years before that a male Lannister had taken a Baratheon maid to wife. She had given him three daughters and a son, each black-haired. No matter how far back Ned searched in the brittle yellowed pages, always he found the gold yielding before the coal.
“A dozen years,” Ned said. “How is it that you have had no children by the king?”
—A Game of Thrones - Eddard XII
I can clearly imagine Ned thinking about how he had to hide Jon Snow, the heir of the Last Dragon, as his bastard; while Joffrey, an actual bastard, was living the life that could have been Jon’s, had Rhaegar prevailed over Robert.
This kind of ‘switched at birth’ case between Jon and Joffrey and the possibility of Jon being Sansa’s fifth Targaryen betrothed, is actually foreshadowed in the Books. Let’s read this passage from Sansa’s first chapter in ACOK:
The morning of King Joffrey’s name day dawned bright and windy, with the long tail of the great comet visible through the high scuttling clouds. Sansa was watching it from her tower window when Ser Arys Oakheart arrived to escort her down to the tourney grounds. “What do you think it means?” she asked him.
“Glory to your betrothed,” Ser Arys answered at once. “See how it flames across the sky today on His Grace’s name day, as if the gods themselves had raised a banner in his honor. The smallfolk have named it King Joffrey’s Comet.”
Doubtless that was what they told Joffrey; Sansa was not so sure. “I’ve heard servants calling it the Dragon’s Tail.”
“King Joffrey sits where Aegon the Dragon once sat, in the castle built by his son,” Ser Arys said. “He is the dragon’s heir—and crimson is the color of House Lannister, another sign. This comet is sent to herald Joffrey’s ascent to the throne, I have no doubt. It means that he will triumph over his enemies.
"Is it true? she wondered. Would the gods be so cruel? Her mother was one of Joffrey’s enemies now, her brother Robb another. Her father had died by the king’s command. Must Robb and her lady mother die next? The comet was red, but Joffrey was Baratheon as much as Lannister, and their sigil was a black stag on a golden field. Shouldn’t the gods have sent Joff a golden comet?
— A Clash of Kings - Sansa I
See? From “Glory to your betrothed,” to “King Joffrey sits where Aegon the Dragon once sat, in the castle built by his son” “He is the dragon’s heir” Every word from Arys Oakheart’s mouth evokes Jon, not Joffrey.  Joffrey is not a dragon, far less the dragon’s heir; he’s not even a stag.
If Joffrey had truly been the son of Robert Baratheon, he indeed would have had a bit of Targaryen blood, because Robert’s grandmother was the Princess Rhaelle Targaryen, but that’s not the case.
And the red comet could never be ‘Joffrey’s Comet’ as Sansa correctly pointed out when she said: “Shouldn’t the gods have sent Joff a golden comet?” The servants were right; the red comet was related to dragons, just as the person who knows everything in ASOIAF stated emphatically:
Bran asked Septon Chayle about the comet while they were sorting through some scrolls snatched from the library fire. "It is the sword that slays the season,” he replied, and soon after the white raven came from Oldtown bringing word of autumn, so doubtless he was right.
Though Old Nan did not think so, and she’d lived longer than any of them. “Dragons,” she said, lifting her head and sniffing. She was near blind and could not see the comet, yet she claimed she could smell it. “It be dragons, boy,” she insisted. Bran got no princes from Nan, no more than he ever had.
Hodor said only, “Hodor.” That was all he ever said.
—A Clash of Kings - Bran I
Sadly the last part of this passage from Sansa’s first chapter in ACOK, also foreshadowed the Red Wedding.  The Lannisters once more would take her family from her; this time Catelyn and Robb.
But let’s stick with the good part, the part where she is called the betrothed of the dragon’s heir, that is not Joffrey, but Jon Snow, her own Dragonknight, her Black Knight of the Wall, her dark haired prince hiding in the north.  We can only hope that this time the betrothal will end in a real marriage, because Sansa’s betrothal record isn’t so good thus far:
Joffrey Baratheon (the Psychopath Bastard), the betrothal was broken.
Willas Tyrell (the Cripple), the betrothal was cancelled.
Tyrion Lannister (the Imp), the marriage was not consummated.
Harrold Hardying (the Arse), the betrothal still stands but the bride is Alayne Stone.
Jon Snow (is dead but on the third day he will rise again from the dead).
But against the odds, I believe Sansa will wear a Targaryen Cloak, and under that protection, she will slay her enemies.

I wrote this three years ago.  I think it needs some adjusting here and there, but the main idea is there and I hope this time is clearer.
Good night.

Sandor X Reader - Protection
Title: Protection
Words: 2,064
Warnings: Slight violence, slight language
A/N: So I tried to make this romantic, but I couldn’t find a way that fit so the reader is the eldest child of Cersei Lannister and Jaime Lannister Robert Baratheon. Sandor has been assigned as a guard to reader since they were born. As Robert is an inattentive father, Sandor has taken that place in readers mind. Reader is 18, Joffrey is 14, Myrcella is 12, and Tommen is 10. I don’t remember their actual ages, as this takes place before the beginning of the series.
Hope you enjoy and if you’d like to request something for me to write, send me an ask! I’d love to write for you!!
Also, the read more may not work on mobile, so I apologize in advance if it doesn’t work!

“Today you have some art lessons with Septa Clara,” your mother, Cersei, said. “Then after lunch you are free for the day.”
“Sounds like a fun day,” you said with a smile. It was currently breakfast and you were sitting between your youngest siblings, Myrcella and Tommen. Joffrey was sitting next to your mother and angrily picking at his food.
“Can we go swimming after you’re done with your lessons?” Tommen asked you excitedly.
“Is that alright, mother?” You looked at Cersei with a grin.
“I guess it is. After everyone’s lessons are done you can go swimming. Just be sure to have guards with you.”
“Yes, mother!” You and your siblings chimed. Joffrey scoffed and rolled his eyes, pushing his breakfast plate away.
“How is it I’m younger than you but more mature? Swimming is something only children do. Are you a child?”
“That’s not true, Joffrey. Everyone deserves to have a little fun now and then.” You smiled sweetly at him and he rolled his eyes once more.
“Good thing you weren’t born a boy. I can’t imagine you on the Iron Throne. You’d run Westeros into the ground.” He stalked out of the room, still muttering under his breath.
“That was rude of your brother,” Cersei said. “I’ll go talk to him.”
“You don’t have to, mother. I really don’t mind his comments. I know he doesn’t mean them.” Cersei looked at you, at nodded.
“Of course, my love. If you don’t think it necessary, I won’t press the issue.”
 “Thank you.”
Cersei got up and walked to you and your siblings. She kissed Tommen and Myrcella on the cheeks, tickling them slightly. That prompted giggles from them and another smile from you. When she got to you, she pulled you into a hug after kissing your forehead.
“You are such a strong young woman. I hope you know that I am immensely proud of you,” she said quietly.
“It makes me really happy to hear that, mother.” She kissed you once more and looked at you and your siblings.
“I think it would be alright if the three of you had the day off,” Cersei said. Your eyes lit up.
 “Really?”
“If you three promise to work extra hard on your lessons tomorrow.”
 “Of course!” You said.
“Thank you, mother!” Your siblings said. She smiled at the three of you.
“Go on. Have some fun.” Myrcella and Tommen laughed and ran off to get ready and you kissed your mothers cheek.
“I’ll have them back by lunch.”
“I’ll be waiting.” Cersei squeezed your hand and you walked to your chambers, steps light and happy.
 ---
It had been a few hours since you and your siblings had been at the beach and you were loving every minute of it. Myrcella and Tommen were splashing in the water while you looked on from the sand. A blanket was beneath you and Sandor was standing a few feet behind you.
“It’s a lovely day, isn’t it?” You said to him.
“It is, princess. It’s also almost noon. Your mother will be waiting for you soon.”
“I guess.” You sighed and looked at him with a pout. “Do we really have to leave?”
“You could stay, but then I would face the wrath of your mother and I’d rather not have that happen.” Sandor looked at you with a pointed look and you sighed once more.
“You’re right. Time to go.” Looking towards your siblings, you cupped your hands around your mouth. “Myrcella! Tommen! It’s time to go back. Mother is waiting for us with lunch.”
“Lunch time!” Tommen yelled. Myrcella giggled and splashed him with water one more time. The two of them raced each other out of the water and to their respective guard groups. Thick towels wrapped around their bodies, they started the walk home, laughter trailing behind them. You looked after them with a soft look on your face and turned back to Sandor.
 “Let’s go back home.”
Sandor helped you from the ground and you grabbed your things. The walk back was filled with your normal chatter, you talking about anything that came to mind. Everything seemed alright until you noticed Sandor wasn’t paying attention.
“Am I boring you, Mister Clegane?” You said teasingly.
“Be quiet,” he said gruffly. After a moment, he grabbed your arm and started walking really fast.
“What’s going on?” There was a twinge of fear in your voice and Sandor heard it.
 “Something’s wrong.”
Right then, someone jumped out from behind a wall, knife in hand. You screamed and put your hands up, trying to protect yourself. With a roar, Sandor cut down the man and pulled you close to him. You hid your head in his chest, his arm around your waist. Another man showed up and Sandor killed him as well before pulling you forward.
“Quickly, princess!” You had begun to run, your lungs burning from the exertion. You were almost at the Red Keep when you were suddenly surrounded by six men.
“Get the fuck away,” Sandor snarled, brandishing his weapon at them.
“We don’t want you,” one of them said. “We just want the princess.”
“You’ll have to get through me to get her.”
“Very well,” the man sighed. “So be it.”
They readied themselves for a fight and you had tears running down your face, scared for your life and Sandor’s. When you had resigned yourself to your fate, one of the assassins was cut down by one of the Kingsguard. In the split second when their attention was elsewhere, Sandor had shoved you towards a knight and you were ushered into the castle quickly. When you looked back, you saw Sandor in a frenzy, cutting down the men who tried to kill you.
“Myrcella and Tommen! Were they attacked too?” You asked the knight frantically.
“No, princess. They are safe in the Red Keep.” A sob of relief escaped your lips.
 “Thank the gods.”
“[Y/n]!” Your mother cried, rushing towards you.
“Mother!” You ran and met her halfway, Cersei crushing you in a hug.
“Are you alright darling? Did you get hurt?” She cupped your face, turning your head to each side, inspecting you for any injuries.
“No, I’m fine mother.” You looked into her eyes and broke down.
“I was so scared! Why were they after me?”
“I don’t know, my love. Come, let’s get you to your room.”
 “But Ser Clegane!”
“He can take care of himself. You need to rest.”
Tiredly, you nodded and let your mother lead you to your room. She helped you get into some sleep clothes and into bed. After closing the curtains, she sat on the bed next to you, hands carding through your hair, lulling you to sleep. Cersei stayed like that after you had fallen asleep, watching you with worry on her face. A gentle knock on your chamber doors had her getting up, kissing your head gently.
“What is it?” She asked after she closed the door behind her.
“We managed to get Clegane to not kill one of the assassins and we have secured him in the dungeons,” a knight said.
“Good. Tell Clegane to clean up and watch the princess. I will wait here for him.”
“Right away, your grace.” He bowed and she went back inside your room. You were still sleeping and Cersei sat in one of your chairs. It didn’t take long before there was a knock on the door and Cersei opened it to see Sandor.
“You wanted to see me, your grace?” He said.
“Yes. I wanted to thank you for protecting [y/n].”
 “It’s my job, your grace.”
“It is. But I know how much you love my daughter as if she was your own.” Sandor inhaled slightly and stood straighter.
“It’s alright,” Cersei said. “Her father is not exactly attentive and I’m glad that there’s someone out there besides me that cares for her as much as I do. You will be rewarded handsomely. Now, I have some business to attend to. [Y/n] is asleep in her room. Please watch over her.”
“Of course, your grace,” Sandor said with a bow. Cersei left with a glance at your door as Sandor entered the room.
 ---
“Who gave you the hit?” Jaime said to the man in chains.
“None of your business,” he spat. Jaime looked at him with a murderous look, hand going to his sword.
“My brother asked you a question,” Cersei said as she came into the dimly lit room. “Who told you to kill our daughter?”
“So the rumors are true.” He laughed. Jaime gave Cersei a look.
“He won’t be living long enough to tell anyone, don’t worry,” she told Jaime. To the man, she said, “I have ways to get you to talk. It will save you a lot of pain if you just tell us now.”
“I have nothing to tell you. Do what you like, I will not talk.”
“As you wish,” Cersei said. She walked out of the room and walked back in a minute later, two people with her. The man’s eyes went wide when he saw them.
“Maria? Henry?” He struggled to get free of his chains, but it was in vain. Cersei sent the children away and turned to the man.
“I don’t want to hurt your children, but if you do not comply I will not hesitate to.” Cersei’s eyes and voice were cold and unforgiving. The man cried out and tugged on his chains once more.
“I’ll tell you everything! Just please let them go!” Cersei looked at him and when she was sure he was being truthful, nodded at him.
“Who told you to kill my daughter?”
 ---
It was early the next morning when you woke up, head pounding. With a groan, you sat up, pushing hair out of your eyes. The room was still dark and you were getting out of bed when you saw your chamber doors were opened slightly.
“She’s been asleep the whole night and there have been no attempted attacks,” Sandor said quietly.
“Good. I want you to stay close to her around the clock. You will eat your meals with her and the only time you are allowed to not be in her presence is when you are taking a sleep break.”
“Yes, your grace.” The doors opened wider, your mother and Sandor coming into the room.
“You’re awake!” Cersei said. “Good, you need to eat, my love.”
“I am really hungry,” you said sheepishly. Cersei kissed your cheek.
“I’ll go send for some food to be brought up. Why don’t you change and get ready for the day?”
 “Yes, mother.”
“I’ll be right back.” She left the room and you looked at Sandor. When the doors closed, you rushed out of bed to give him a crushing hug.
“I was so scared you were gonna get hurt,” you said, head buried in his chest and his arms wrapped around your small frame.
 “You were worried about me?”
“Of course I was! There were so many men attacking and I know you can take care of yourself but bad things happen and I didn’t want something to happen to you just because of me and—“ Sandor cut off your rambling as he pulled you tighter.
“Your life is more important than mine,” he said, voice quiet. “I was afraid I was going to lose you.”
 “Me?”
“Yes, you. I think you already know this, but I care for you like you were my own. I’ve watched you grow up into this beautiful young woman and if anything happened to you I don’t know what I would do.” Sandor’s voice was quiet and it sounded broken. You sniffed, trying to keep the tears at bay.
“I love you, Sandor. Like you were my own father. Is that wrong?”
“No, it’s not.” His hand was stroking your hair, and he let you cry it out. After a minute, your tears had subsided and you sniffled lightly.
 “All better?”
“Yes. I’m sorry for crying on you.” Sandor shook his head.
“It’s alright. Now you should get dressed before your mother comes back.”
“Okay.” You detached yourself from Sandor and went to change out of your nightgown. After you went behind the changing curtain, Sandor sat down.
‘I love you too, [y/n],’ he thought, a small smile on his lips.

My Take on the Radiant Quote
Jon noticed the shy looks she [Myrcella] gave Robb as they passed between the tables and the timid way she smiled at him. He decided she was insipid. Robb didn't even have the sense to realize how stupid she was; he was grinning like a fool.
His half sisters escorted the royal princes. Arya was paired with plump young Tommen, whose white-blond hair was longer than hers.
Sansa, two years older, drew the crown prince, Joffrey Baratheon [...] Sansa looked radiant as she walked beside him, but Jon did not like Joffrey's pouty lips or the bored, disdainful way he looked at Winterfell's Great Hall.
- A Game of Thrones, Jon I
Let me begin by saying I don’t think Jon describes Sansa this way because of  a romantic interest in her. However,  I do think this quote is interesting because it describes their relationship in a different way and has other implications. One way to read this quote is by contrasting to how he sees about Myrcella to how he sees Sansa.
Objectively, both Sansa and Myrcella feel the same about the boys escorting them - flushed and lovestruck, but Jon calls Sansa radiant and Myrcella insipid and stupid.
The reason for this could be multiple things:
he’s notes how happy she is (notice he doesn’t talk about Arya’s appearance - which is probably either disappointed, disgruntled or neutral - most likely because Sansa’s happiness is so vibrant)
a side observation might be that he’s never seen Sansa look so happy?
he’s happy that she’s happy (calls her radiant when he could have mocked her admiration by calling her insipid)
This leads me to believe that their relationship isn’t as bad as people usually interpret it to be. I think they had a fairly neutral relationship but didn’t have much to bond over (he’s into swords, she’s into embroidery he was a punk, she did ballet, what more can I say) and with contrasting personalities, tended not to gravitate towards each other. So, a neutral but respectful relationship considering their own duties, roles and how they spend their time (which was mainly in different social circles).
Now, the people Jon most frequently remembers are his father (for obvious reasons) Robb and Arya.
First, let’s begin with Jon’s relationship with Robb.
Robb, his rival and best friend and constant companion;
- AGOT, Jon III
Jon told the story of how he and Robb had found the pups newborn in the late summer snows.
Robb and Bran and Rickon were his father's sons, and he loved them still, yet Jon knew that he had never truly been one of them.
Jon had often hunted with his father and Jory and his brother Robb. He knew the wolfswood around Winterfell as well as any man
- AGOT Jon IV
Jon was still not certain how he felt about it. Robb a king? The brother he'd played with, fought with, shared his first cup of wine with? But not mother's milk, no. So now Robb will sip summerwine from jeweled goblets, while I'm kneeling beside some stream sucking snowmelt from cupped hands. "Robb will make a good king," he said loyally.
- ACOK, Jon I
...so Robb and he used to climb the towers of Winterfell to shout at each other across the yard.
- ASOS, Jon VII
Once Jon had meant to prove them wrong, to show his lord father that he could be as good and true a son as Robb. I made a botch of that. Robb had become a hero king; if Jon was remembered at all, it would be as a turncloak, an oathbreaker, and a murderer. He was glad that Lord Eddard was not alive to see his shame.
- ASOS, Jon X
When Jon had been very young, too young to understand what it meant to be a bastard, he used to dream that one day Winterfell might be his. Later, when he was older, he had been ashamed of those dreams. Winterfell would go to Robb and then his sons, or to Bran or Rickon should Robb die childless.
- ASOS, Jon XI
You can't be the Lord of Winterfell, you're bastard-born, he heard Robb say again. And the stone kings were growling at him with granite tongues. You do not belong here.
A son was something Jon Snow had never dared dream of, since he decided to live his life on the Wall. I could name him Robb.
- ASOS, Jon XII
It reminded him of warmer, simpler days, when he had been a boy at Winterfell matching blades with Robb under the watchful eye of Ser Rodrik Cassel
- ADWD, Jon VI
From the above quotes, we see that Jon’s memories oscillate between feeling fond and mildly resentful/jealous of his brother. They’ve been together the longest and had the most in common but Jon was constantly aware of the distance in status between them. And when you consider the fact that Ned wanted Jon to have the best education possible, Robb and Jon had more reasons to spend time together but his status as a bastard in comparison to Robb’s as the heir of Winterfell, does seem to hold him a little back from having a bond as close as the one he has to Arya.
Now Jon and Arya almost seem to have too many reasons to be close. From sharing the Stark look (which in the books, only they share and which may have made Jon feel a little better compared to Robb) to feeling out of place (Jon as a bastard and Arya not wanting to conform to traditional femininity) and having common interests (fighting, mainly). Add on to the fact that Arya is almost just as likely to inherit Winterfell as Jon? Yeah, they have every reason to be close.
And Arya … he missed her even more than Robb, skinny little thing that she was, all scraped knees and tangled hair and torn clothes, so fierce and willful. Arya never seemed to fit, no more than he had … yet she could always make Jon smile.
AGOT, Jon III
Something about her made him think of Arya, though they looked nothing at all alike
ACOK, Jon VI
She wasn't wed and her weapon of choice was a short curved bow of horn and weirwood, but "spearwife" fit her all the same. She reminded him a little of his sister Arya, though Arya was younger and probably skinnier
ASOS, Jon II
Jon Snow sank to one knee in the snow. Gods of my fathers, protect these men. And Arya too, my little sister, wherever she might be. I pray you, let Mance find her and bring her safe to me.
But what if Arya was not there to be saved? What if Lady Melisandre's flames had told it true? Could his sister truly have escaped such captors? How would she do that? Arya was always quick and clever, but in the end she's just a little girl, and Roose Bolton is not the sort who would be careless with a prize of such great worth.
ADWD, Jon VII
He wanted to believe it would be Arya. He wanted to see her face again, to smile at her and muss her hair, to tell her she was safe. She won't be safe, though. Winterfell is burned and broken and there are no more safe places.
Wherever he might send her, though, Arya would need silver to support her, a roof above her head, someone to protect her. She was only a child.
“Once Cregan gets a child by me they won't need me anymore. He's buried two wives already." She rubbed away a tear angrily, the way Arya might have done it. "Will you help me?"
ADWD, Jon IX
It had been so long since he had last seen Arya. What would she look like now? Would he even know her? Arya Underfoot. Her face was always dirty. Would she still have that little sword he'd had Mikken forge for her? Stick them with the pointy end, he'd told her. Wisdom for her wedding night if half of what he heard of Ramsay Snow was true. Bring her home, Mance. I saved your son from Melisandre, and now I am about to save four thousand of your free folk. You owe me this one little girl.
ADWD, Jon XI
Compared to Robb, every memory Jon has of Arya is positive. He emphasizes their similarities and feels protective of her as she was the closest family member to him (and he still thinks of her as a child in ADWD which is why Jonarya makes me feel more than a little uncomfortable). He sees her in everything and everyone because she’s directly tied to his happiest memories and is his closest tie to the Stark family.
TL: DR - So, the reason he reminisces about Robb is because he grew up with him (and was a similar age to him, had the same education and also shared a father) and even more with Arya because they related to each other the most and had the Stark look (especially Arya because he doesn’t have the attached semi-resentment of Robb becoming the lord of winterfell, because it’s what he’s always wanted).
This doesn’t mean that Jon and Sansa’s relationship was awful or horrible or that they hated each other. Just that Jon has more memories and similarities to Robb and Arya.
Moving forward, I would like to see them develop a closer relationship (once they reunite - I’m tentatively in the camp of Grey Girl Sansa -  through their own reciprocal experiences (Jon, from bastard to Lord Commander, and Sansa, from Lady to Bastard), learning the value of home (both Jon and Sansa were most eager to leave, albeit for different reasons) and coming to appreciate each other’s compatible but different skill sets.

Myrcella / Sansa Anon Here: Like Jaime and Brienne are both Beauty and the Beast, Myrcella and Sansa have the potential to be both Cinderella and the Prince/Knight. Myrcella a bastard disguised as a Princess and Sansa is a Princess disguises as a bastard. When the Starks fell, the old man could have written Myrcella as one of Sansa’s Protectors since she knows how to survive Cersei while when the Lannister’s fell from power, Sansa would give Myrcella a home. For cherry on top, Myrcella could 1/2
2/2 inherit Jaime’s sword skills and her desire to pursue that could be a way to escape being her mother’s mini-me, only valued for her looks, and toxic family as well as an attempt to gain some control over her life. I had more articulate thoughts on this but I wrote them down somewhere I can’t recall. In canon, you already have Arianne set up for the fairy godmother role and Brienne as a subversion of the typical stepmother. Either way, less creepy than any potential in-canon Sansa ships.
Honestly, anon, you persuaded me with these first two, but the absolute joy is that you came through with even more! I do wanna quickly say though that I support folx shipping who they ship and in whatsoever way brings joy, we’re all here for the love of the characters and the story after all <3
I am as ever at the moment, very late to the party, but I’m so glad you came back to share all this! A lot of what you’ve said by way of potentials has lived rent free in my head. I’m very into the fairy tale elements you’re describing (particularly noting Arianne as fairy godmother, and Brienne as a subversion of the typical (boring, sexist) fairy tale stepmother...!) and the incorporation of major themes that could be present in Myrcella’s arc (I’m poss wearing my clown shoes, etc, but I do think there’s a chance some of those could come to bear in the remaining books, with or without Sansa, so let’s hope) Your note about Myrcella inheriting Jaime’s sword skills set off a different thought in my head, that it would be interesting for her to instead pick up a lot of the knight’s code and utilizing it to her whims and needs, though without the fighting/sword skills element. There’s resonance and balancing there, then, with parts of Sansa’s arc, and also with themes in Brienne’s arc, and is again, a repudiation of much of what Cersei (and Joffrey) thinks and believes. Though am also very much here for more sword wielding ladies.
Anyway, onwards with the rest of your Sansa/Myrcella galaxy-braining:
Also, we know Myrcella wasn’t scared of Joffrey so we could have had Myrcella getting in his face to defend Sansa and having a tense stand-off. Plus, it would be a more explicit sign of Jaime and Cersei not being soulmates and gender swapped mirrors as the cruel and cowardly Joffrey being Cersei if she was a boy and brave and clever would be Jaime as a girl.
ANON. I am SO INTO playing with aligning Cersei with Joffrey and Jaime with Myrcella explicitly! It definitely could be there for the taking (that note about where did Myrcella and Tommen get their sweetness, I WONDER) but whether GRRM will take it... Things seem to be pointing Tommen-ward atm when it comes to possibilities with Jaime and his children, which is, idk, to be expected to a degree I guess. BUT ALSO, as is on the record, I’d really rather a sharp veer towards Myrcella instead (Tommen can come too I guess but centring Myrcella would be grand)
And also just: a Myrcella who takes on her brother (and by extension, Cersei) *on behalf* of Sansa would have been fucking incredible, and would absolutely have been particularly satisfying for the resonance it would have for Jaime’s later arc. And there’s every possibility Myrcella could have stood up for Sansa, or even if we frame it more as “against Joffrey”, at least at first. Also what you describe as being possible later by way of role reversal of who protects who, yes thank you please. Deeply into how that shapes Lannister-Stark relations and also honestly the potential impact on LSH storylines, in the event Sansa meets LSH in around the same time Brienne and Jaime are confronting her (I mean, that would substantially alter the timelines, possibly, but still!)
Also ALSO, Sansa being sapphic would better show the limits societal scripts have a person’s perceptions, agency, and ability to connect with others since her character is so influenced by storytelling, imagination, and societal roles. It would also expand her understanding of womanhood and femininity, paving the way to reconcile with Arya.
Into this, as well! Don’t really have much more to say than that, really XD Oh, only that Sapphic Sansa is very satisfying to say, hehe. Anon, I ask if you’ve read this excellent meta about Sansa? It’s a long read but a good one.
admittedly, Myrcella did luck out with getting the sweet, age appropriate, and non-creepy Trystane Martell as her canon love interest.
My cynical take here is that it isn’t coincidence that Myrcella lucked out with Trystane being sweet and being part of a family who (mostly?) wants her safe and happy not just because of her proximity to the Iron Throne but for her own sake, only to be almost certain to lose him, heh.
Sansa/Myrcella it could be about forgiveness, chosen families, breaking the cycles of violence and revenge, hope for the future, the importance of female solidarity, re-writing the future to include everyone.
Just here to say I am a sucker for each and every one of these themes, thank you.
Physical doubling is another shared feature of both Myrcella and Sansa’s stories. Everyone comments on how much Sansa looks like her mom and Littlefinger plans to unveil her identity using her red hair. Myrcella also looks like her mom and has a double in her cousin. Both are hurt and almost killed while in care of someone they should trust, Myrcella during the Queenmaker plot and Sansa with her Aunt Lysa.
Sansa’s themes of identity, self-preservation, perception, longing for something beyond your childhood home, the power and consequences of shaping stories through truth and lies can easily be mapped onto Myrcella.
Your Jaime and Myrcella post reawakened my dormant interest in Myrcella and Sansa, since Jaime is tasked with returning Sansa.
Again, mostly am just here for all this, particularly the potential theme sharing and how they could help one another through 😍🤩
Reading all this, I feel like you hit on one of the major things that GRRM fails with on the regular in ASOIAF, which is that women and girls... often like one another? Even when they’re, like, different from one another? 😱😱😱 And even if he didn’t want to pursue a shippy route, to your earlier point, there was plenty of room for friendship and solidarity between Sansa and Myrcella when they were both in KL, even with Myrcella being younger. There could be an added element wherein Myrcella goes behind Cersei’s back somewhat to do this, given Cersei would undoubtedly put the kibosh on it had she been aware - which again, would have had resonance later for that Jaime and Myrcella mirroring angle. Buuut that would require GRRM to recognize the power of relationships between girls and women, and I admit I remain stuck on the idea that apparently no woman or girl in Brienne’s life ever did anything but mock/deride her until Catelyn came along. I invite you to imagine that a small part of my soul is always howling to the heavens: NO ONE????????? (though this is, happily, an easily retconned detail, so my clown nose is honking that there may be even a throwaway note about some girl or woman in Brienne’s past in Winds, anyway, I digress)
I DUNNO, I’m trying to, like, contribute to this excellence but mostly I’m just picking up everything you’re putting down...!
And finally:
I don’t have a Tumblr, though I enjoy reading fic and people’s meta, so I forgot I sent that ask to be honest, haha.
Again, I’m sorry for how very, very late here, but I am so very glad you did...!!!!

What was the fandom’s general impression of jaime before he had a POV? Did people think there was more to him before being inside his head?
I wouldn’t know, anon, sorry. Before Jaime had a POV, I wasn’t even in elementary school yet lol. ASOS came out a long time ago, and I’ve only been in the fandom for a few years. Do I sound like an older JB stan? Because if so, I am fucking flattered but honestly I could never XD they’re way better at this stuff than me lol. But @janiedean @glamaphonic @chickren @guileandsubterfuge etc have been around longer than me, maybe they can tell you how it was, or know someone that’s been in fandom that long? Maybe they can answer this question better? I don’t think they were in fandom THAT long ago but they’d still know more than me.
I wanted to address something else you said, though, about whether people thought there was more to Jaime before his POV chapters.
I mean, if one reads closely, they can see that there’s more to Jaime, even before we get his POV. When Bran almost fell on his own, Jaime’s first instinct was to save Bran:
Bran’s fingers started to slip. He grabbed the ledge with his other hand. Fingernails dug into unyielding stone. The man reached down. “Take my hand,” he said. “Before you fall.“Bran seized his arm and held on tight with all his strength. The man yanked him up to the ledge. (AGOT, Bran II)
That’s a sign right there that there’s more to Jaime than what appears on the surface. Plus, there’s the infamous line:
“The things I do for love,” he said with loathing. (AGOT, Bran II)
With loathing
As in, fuck me I really don’t wanna kill this child right now this is a really fucked up thing to do and I’m doing it but hey LIFE TAKES YOU PLACES, LIKE KILLING KIDS SO YOU AND YOUR SISTER-GF WON’T DIE, LOL BYE YOUNG BOY THAT I JUST SAVED A FEW MOMENTS AGO
So, yeah. There’s more nuance. Also, GRRM just put Jaime’s character motivation in one line of dialogue in a natural way like a fucking boss. Expert writing GRRM, you done good.
Also, you know that scene I love to talk about, where Jaime was flirting with Ned and murdering Ned’s friends in the most dramatic way possible? Well, he wasn’t just there to flirt with Ned, be a silly, extra, bisexual Cub, and establish his characterization archetype as the Jock with the Heart of a Theatre Kid. He was there because, as far as Jaime knew, Ned had kidnapped his little brother, and he wasn’t quite happy about that.
Why wasn’t he happy? Well, let’s have his dramatic ass tell us:
Jaime Lannister smiled. “[..] I’m looking for my brother. You remember my brother, don’t you, Lord Stark? He was with us at Winterfell. Fair-haired, mismatched eyes, sharp of tongue. A short man.” (AGOT, Eddard IX)
So, Jaime isn’t happy about the kidnapping because he loves his little bro, and he’s protective of him. It wasn’t just for the honor of his House that Jaime confronted Ned. He’s concerned for Tyrion’s life, and legitimately wants to save him:
“Kill me,” [Ned] warned the Kingslayer, “and Catelyn will most certainly slay Tyrion.”
Jaime Lannister poked at Ned’s chest with the gilded sword that had sipped the blood of the last of the Dragonkings. “Would she? The noble Catelyn Tully of Riverrun murder a hostage? I think … not.” He sighed. “But I am not willing to chance my brother’s life on a woman’s honor.” Jaime slid the golden sword into its sheath. (AGOT, Eddard IX)
Jaime was worried about Tyrion’s safety and wanted him back. And Ned, the guy Jaime has a hateboner for anyway, took him (as far as he knows).
But here’s another thing. Jaime can’t hurt Ned without risking Tyrion being hurt. But he still wants revenge on Ned for endangering him. So Jaime activates his petty Lannister gene, because at their core, all Lannisters are petty, messy ass bitches who live for drama (except for Tommen, Myrcella has yet to be determined) and murders Ned’s men just because he can’t kill Ned in retaliation for Tyrion’s kidnapping, but … he can kill the Stark homies, right? Without risking Tyrion’s death?
See what I’m getting at? Jaime did all of that extra ass, murderous shit to Ned for not wanting to flirt with him back kidnapping his little brother. In Tyrion’s name. Because Jaime loves Tyrion. He loves the twisted, ill-made creature that killed his mother and puts shame upon his House and blah-blah-insert-more-of-Tywin-and-Cersei’s-abusive-ableist-bullshit-here. He loves Tyrion despite his society and his family telling him that he shouldn’t. And, like in Bran’s chapter, Jaime is letting love motivate him. Motivating him to do shitty things, like wreck Ned’s crew, but hey, this does give insight to Jaime’s character, that he’s nowhere near to be two dimensional.
Also the fact that Jaime is THE WORST VILLAIN EVER should be a clue that he’s really not a villain and that there’s more to his character I mean, when Tyrion told him that Bran would live, Jaime looked at Cersei with the most OBVIOUS AND NON SUBTLE GLANCE EVER BECAUSE HE’S SHIT AT BEING A VILLAIN, HE WAS LITERALLY LIKE “OH GEE DON’T MIND US WE’RE TOTALLY NOT UPSET THAT THE BOY WHO WAS MYSTERIOUSLY CRIPPLED WILL LIVE, BECAUSE I TOTALLY DIDN’T TRY TO KILL HIM, NOPE NOTHING TO SEE HERE, OKAY YEAH IT WAS TOTES ME HEY NED WATCH ME FLIP MY HAIR IN THE RAIN AS I MURDER YOUR FRIENDS
Lastly, Jaime’s conversation with Cat in A Clash of Kings further reveals hidden depths to his character. In between Jaime’s flirting with Cat and stanning Nedbert, we get this gem:
“So many vows … they make you swear and swear. Defend the king. Obey the king. Keep his secrets. Do his bidding. Your life for his. But obey your father. Love your sister. Protect the innocent. Defend the weak. Respect the gods. Obey the laws. It’s too much. No matter what you do, you’re forsaking one vow or the other.” (ACOK, Catelyn VII)
So here, Jaime is implying that he’s conflicted with his vows and that there’s a grey area to being a knight, especially a Kingsguard. It’s quite an eye opening mini monologue about the intricacies of honor and how that negatively affects the people, knights especially, who were raised in its corruption and toxic structure. It’s complex, and the fact that Jaime reflects on this in an obviously bitter manner shows how much he hates it. It makes him far from being a flat character, and we’re nowhere near to be in his head yet.
Jaime goes on to give us this quote as well, after revealing to Cat that Aerys Targaryen burned Rickard Stark alive:
“As for Lord Rickard, the steel of his breastplate turned cherry-red before the end, and his gold melted off his spurs and dripped down into the fire. I stood at the foot of the Iron Throne in my white armor and white cloak, filling my head with thoughts of Cersei. After, Gerold Hightower himself took me aside and said to me, ‘You swore a vow to guard the king, not to judge him.’ That was the White Bull, loyal to the end and a better man than me, all agree.” (ACOK, Catelyn VII)
So here, Jaime admits that, when being forced to watch Rickard Stark burn alive, he would disassociate so he would not have to endure the horror of it all. Similarly to him saving Bran on instinct (and hating the fact that he had to kill him) this shows that Jaime has empathy, and isn’t a sadistic monster that most people in universe (and in fandom) think him to be, since he can’t handle the sights, sounds, and smells of someone being burned alive. Also, Gerold Hightower told him not to judge Aerys, so, for him to say that, Jaime must have had a horrified, disgusted, or angry look on his face, because why else would Gerold tell Jaime not to judge their king? Jaime would have had to be visibly judging Aerys, otherwise that line makes no sense. And if Jaime is judging Aerys for burning Rickard Stark — someone who was essentially a stranger to Jaime — alive, well, and was horrified by it enough to disassociate, that’s a sign that Jaime values the lives of people who aren’t just his close kin, right? It’s good foreshadowing for him revealing that he saved the people of King’s Landing from Aerys.
So, basically, even before his POV chapters, Jaime Lannister proved that he is capable of immense love, but is driven to do evil things because of that love — not just Cersei, but Tyrion, too. He’s proven that he’s capable of loving someone that the world constantly tells him shouldn’t be loved. He’s proven that he thinks the knighthood system is bullshit, and that he seemed to have legitimate reasons to hate Aerys. He proved that he has trauma from witnessing people being burned alive and tortured. Most importantly, because he has that trauma and coping mechanism, along with the fact that he saved Bran Stark the first time around, he proved that he has empathy and values human life.
He showed all of that nuance without a single fucking POV.
And honestly, these other characters could never.

Tumblr media
it’s time for an intros kids. i really went into this like, ‘i won’t make it that long!’ and it was a lie. i’m not surprised by myself, but i am disappointed that i’m like that.
basics
name: myrcella baratheon (or would that be lannister?) title: princess of the seven kingdoms age: twenty three loyalty: house lannister, herself appearance: golden blonde curls, green eyes, fair skin. scar on her cheek.
cersei lannister and jaime lannister robert baratheon’s only daughter, sister to tommen and joffrey baratheon, princess of the seven kingdoms. sent to live in dorne by her uncle tyrion for her safety as a child, she spent her youth betrothed to the young prince trystane. however, when dorne declared for daenerys targaryen, myrcella’s life became endangered, and her father uncle jaime travelled south to bring her home. together they managed to flee dorne, and travelled north to return to the capital.
in many ways, dorne sheltered her from the horrors of war ; even her brother tommen has seen more than she. she was safe, and it allowed her the chance to live an almost normal life. the martells were good to her, and she came to care for trystane, and did not resent their betrothal.  perhaps she even loved him in a way, though myrcella is not entirely sure. was it love, or was it merely a friendship tainted by the knowledge that they were to be man and wife?
in dorne she received the finest education they could offer, and she was a diligent student, always ready to work hard. myrcella studied language, poetry, politics, and yes, even the strategies of war, for the dornish did not have the same rules as their northern counterparts. indeed, they even allowed her some minor weapons training, though myrcella never took to it very well. she had not the heart to cause others pain, even in practice.
she was a kind young woman, who believed the world could be kind also, and yet now that war has reached her, myrcella’s beliefs have been shaken. she and her uncle did not escape the southern peninsula unscathed ; she bears a scar on her cheek from a dornish guard, and in her own defence was forced to take his life. now she doubts herself - she has always been the kind, gentle princess who would never harm even the smallest of creatures, so what is she now? she has felt a man’s life-blood spill on her hands, and for all that myrcella does not want that to change her, it feels inevitable.
and then of course, there is the question of ser jaime lannister. as a child he was her beloved uncle ; now, she is not sure what to call him. even in dorne she heard the rumours, and though she wished to deny them, myrcella found herself wondering. she bore no resemblance to king robert - she was her mother’s miniature, green-eyed and golden haired and beautiful. and so it is only natural she must bear a resemblance to her mother’s twin also, is it not?
in truth she hardly remembers the old king now, it has been so many years since his death, and she is ashamed. he raised her, believed she was his daughter - she remembers his kindness and his temper both. king robert yelled at joffrey, at her mother, but never at his beloved princess. still, she knows her parents did not have a happy marriage, and that her mother loves jaime better than almost anyone. now that she is no longer a child, it is not hard to believe the rumours are true. she will not dare admit it aloud, though, for myrcella knows the power that lies in being an heir to the iron throne. she does not have the luxury of admitting the truth when it very well may get her killed.
now that she returns to the captial, myrcella cannot help but feel some trepidation. it has been over ten years since she’s seen her mother, and in that time, she has grown disillusioned with the queen. cersei always doted on her as a child, yet at the same time, cersei sometimes seemed to distance herself from her only daughter. perhaps it was because she knew, even when myrcella was just a babe, that one day she like all princesses before her, would have to leave her home and loved ones to wed a stranger. she believes her mother loves her - that can never be denied - but in their time apart, she has also come to realise that in part she and her brothers were ways for her mother to gain power.
a queen needs to create heirs, and it seems to myrcella cersei did anything she had to to provide them, even if that meant committing the worst sins with her own twin. she has also heard rumours of the things her mother has done, and while myrcella is loathe to believe them, it is difficult to deny that perhaps the loving mother she remembers was only one side of cersei lannister. she cannot pretend that her mother is perfect, and knowing what she does - that she and tommen have no true right to the throne, they are bastards, not even the children of a king - myrcella questions why this war must continue, when they are fighting for something that is not even theirs.
okay that’s about it. probably. it’s getting a bit long so i should stop. i did warn you. kinda. here are some wanted plots/ideas from my app but also...mostly we can just brainstorm, probably.
plot points
i’d love to play out myrcella’s relationship with her family members! cersei, jaime, tommen, tyrion, shireen!!!!, even margaery if you count her as family…i think that would be so interesting!
i’d be super interested in seeing myrcella play a part with the war at large - though she’s not a fighter, she definitely could be more into the political/strategic side of things, as she’s obviously had a strong education and is highly intelligent, and is capable of seeing things from her own perspective.
i’d also like to look into how myrcella feels about house lannister and this war - i think she’s got a lot of doubts, and is beginning to wonder if they are even right to be fighting it. i think that, while she’s loyal to her family, she’s not necessarily loyal to fighting and dying over the iron throne. myrcella doesn’t want to die for a crown, she wants to live her own life, and when push comes to shove, she may be forced to choose herself over her mother’s ambitions.
obvs also myrcella is a princess, and in this world that means that her potential marriages are important, so it could be fun to play around with that, and how she could use that to her advantage

Summersea’s GoT Season 4 Rewatch 2019
Otherwise known as: “The Long Slow Slide to D and D Running Out of Material from the Books”
4x01:
1. The visuals of Ice getting melted down are SO PRETTY (while RoC plays on the background 😎 living my best Lannister Life over here.)
2. Jaime getting the sword and trying NOT to be Lord of Casterly Rock and HOLY SHIT TELLING TYWIN NO and getting away with it.
3. Tyrion is trying so hard to greet the Dornish politely... poor guy.
4. It’s pride month so I’m just pointing out that Oberyn is soooo biiiii and This Bi Girl loves him. And him playing with the flame and Ellaria trying to stop him from killing the Lannister who insulted him... I just love their dynamic.
5. Drogon is just a big happy dragon-Cat and in Dany’s first appearance of this season. He PURRS.
6. I love Jaime and Cersei’s scene with Jaime’s new hand. They snipe at each other, but it is SO how they interact.
7. Jon and Sansa reacting to Robb’s death :(
8. GUESS WHO DID NOT MISS JANOS SLYNT OR ALLISER THORNE AT ALL THATS RIGHT MEEEE. Also Alliser is Peter Knox in a Discovery of Witches so I just HATE HIS FACE.
9. TREAT THAT BOOK MORE CAREFULLY JOFFREY YOU LITTLE SHIT and treat your uncle more nicely too. Jaime looks a little taken aback at what a little turd his oldest has become, but handles it well I think.
10. Jaime and Brienne trying to sort out how to keep his vow to Catelyn 🤣
11. YES ARYA GET NEEDLE BACK. Also Sandor being like NO CHILD COME BACK HERE DO NOT RUSH INTO DANGER WITHOUT ME is precious.
12. Sandor Clegane saying FUCK THE KING gives me such satisfaction
13. I should not be so happy about Arya re-enacting the time when Polliver
14. But I am happy that Sandor got his chickens
4x02
1. So I had forgotten that the girls who were in the scene where Theon gets cut are Myranda and the girl Ramsay is hunting later. I remembered how much I hate the Myranda thing real quick, though.
2. I love Tyrion being understanding of Jaime’s disability because HE WOULD BE. Also Tyrion pouring wine on the table to be like “look spilling is no big deal” is PRECIOUS.
3. Bronn knocking Jaime around while sparring is a great source of joy to me.
4. Theon finds out that Robb is dead when he’s got a RAZOR TO RAMSAY’S THROAT I can’t with Alfie’s face.
5. Every time I see Joffrey chop that book in half I want the purple wedding to be right now.
6. Tyrion trying to make Shae leave :...(
7. KEEP AWAY FROM SHIREEN, RED WOMAN, said Davos probably a lot
8. Question: why don’t the direwolves being food BACK to the hungry humans? Especially when Bran can warg into them?
9. So I want to go through every frame of that vision Bran has with the weirwood because the one we haven’t seen before is a Dragons over King’s Landing. Those ARE THE ROOFS YOU SEE IN THE NEXT SHOT FOR THE WEDDING.
10. Haha oh right this IS the purple wedding ep ooops I’d almost forgot. Not sorry for wishing death on Joffrey but sorry for Cersei’s sake and everyone else it fucks over.
11. Loras having eye sex with Oberyn cracks me up I mean they both have eyes and good gaydar... (bi-dar? queer-dar?)
12. Is Margaery... flirting with Brienne? Or is that just Margaery’s personality?
13. JAIME’S FACE when he sees Brienne and Cersei talking is SO FUNNY he’s like shit shit shit DANGER
14. What did Qyburn DO for Cersei that she is recommending to other women? She told him symptoms were gone in a previous ep in a weird mysterious way... did he help her end a pregnancy?? How long has it BEEN since Blackwater? This never comes back again but I’m super curious.
15. Oberyn has zero chill around Tywin and I love it.
16. Margaery looking like she is is going to murder someone during the war of the five Kings show is A Mood. (I mean... there IS about to be a murder.)
17. I don’t think the Tyrells planned it but Joffrey being a shit and making Tyrion touch his wine goblet and SANSA TOUCHING IT TOO played right into their hands.
4x03: oh brother here comes altar sex
1. I want very much for Hector Barbossa to be waiting at the top of that ladder for Sansa after approaching the ship and the creepy fog. But no it’s Petyr Baelish. Ew.
2. Hello new Tommen! Good to see you again after Karstark killed your identical cousin! Also Tywin being like GOOD KINGS ARE SMART AND LISTEN TO THEIR SMART ADVISORS. (That moment when a sitting US president needs to listen to Tywin. Scary?)
3. Altar sex has not aged well for me. I’m not a J/C shipper who thinks they’ve got a healthy relationship that’s all sunshine and kitties. I know the two of them have a messed up dynamic, but this scene misses the mark in so many ways and I hate it. I wish they would have left it out rather than done it wrong. (Also I think it was a tryout for me for “can you get a valonqar scene right?” And the answer was a resounding NO.)
4. Speaking of healthy relationships though Sam and Gilly are cute and sweet and awkward and everything that is good and pure in this world.
5. And so is Davos telling Shireen about his smuggling adventures.
6. Oberyn sat his beautiful self right in the middle of the Kinsey scale and said THE VIEW IS GREAT HERE. What an icon. Also offering Tywin fricking Lannister a seat on the bed where you were just having sex with like FOUR DIFFERENT PEOPLE was A Move.
7. Tywin TELLS OBERYN ABOUT DANY and Oberyn looks like this is the first he’s heard of it.
8. Tyrion saying goodbye to Pod gave me a decent sized lump in my throat.
9. Daario taking down the Champion Of Meereen with one thrown dagger and one slash of a sword is sexy as fuck and I don’t care who knows I think so.
4x04
1. Missandei teaching Grey Worm and just hanging out with him is so important to me this time around.
2. Jaime and Bronn are weird friends and I kind of love it.
3. The Kingslayer Brothers: coming soon to a stage near you. I’d buy that band’s shirt.
4. Olenna Tyrell is a STONE COLD LADY and I love that about her. She protected her granddaughter and I respect that.
5. That is A LOT OF WINE IN THAT GLASS Cersei my love. Also Jaime TRYING to convince her Tyrion didn’t do it hurts me. He loves them both so much, but they all hurt each other.
6. Ser Pounce is a big fluff like my Freya!
7. OATHKEEPER AND THE WHITE BOOK AND THE ARMOR. Brienne’s face is so pure when he gives it to her.
8. I had near forgotten all of this stuff at the wall with Olly and Jon and the cannibals and the mutineers at Craster’s and waiting for Mance’s army. (We know where my heart is though, don’t we...)
9. SIT DOWN LOCKE. I forgot that human shitstain showed up at the wall looking for Bran.
10. We didn’t need the mutineer plot. What did it add? What did we learn about the world or its people? Nothing we didn’t already know. What. Was. The. Point. We’d already seen the walkers and knew about the babies, we knew the world was violent and classist. WE KNEW.
11. I love when Summer is like HELLO BROTHER GHOST OH NO A TRAP
12. The white walker riding across the frozen lake... what a gorgeous image, and the ice henge...
13. WHAT DO THE BLUE EYED ICE BABIES GROW UP TO BEEEEE DO WE EVEN KNOW
4x05
1. I’d say long live King Tommen, but I’d cry.
2. Cersei is beauty she is grace she wants to punch Margaery in the face. (But actually is acting like she might need Margaery to help Tommen? That scene was hard to read.)
3. Meereen has a lot of cool geometrical carvings.
4. Dany thinking about what kind of ruler she wants to be and what responsibilities she has to the people she freed? THAT IS WHO SHE IS, D AND D YOU DICKS.
5. Sansa’s like “greeeeeaaaaat another creepy little kid” when she meets Robin.
6. And Lysa lets it ALL OUT about what Petyr has had her do... wow.
7. Cersei is going along with the Tyrell marriages way too easily what is her game.
8. Tywin is... almost treating his daughter like someone he can trust and have a conversation with? What is this?
9. And then there’s the stupidity about the mines running out. Wtf.
10. Arya is a little drama queen with saying the Hound’s name last while HE WAS LISTENING.
11. Lysa is SO DAMAGED. Poor Sansa.
12. Aw Brienne you don’t know what a loyal kid you’ve got in Podrick give him a chance.
13. Arya practicing water dancing is so cool.
14. Cersei and Oberyn talking is actually really interesting. And they talk about Myrcella :....( and Oberyn is TELLING THE TRUTH about her being happy.
15. Cersei got her A BOAT for her birthday because she LIKES THE OPEN WATER I had forgotten that and I am freaking out for fic reasons because of fics I haven’t written yet that involve Myrcella being good at boats.
16. Geez Pod I don’t know how to skin a rabbit but I know you need to before you cook it. And... does Brienne actually need help with that armor, or does she realize Pod needs to feel useful? I’m going with the second.
17. I had forgotten how creepy Jojen’s visions were.
18. Bran warging into Hodor and killing Locke is... problematic, but Bran had every reason to think Locke was going to kill him. Good fucking riddance.
19. Jon being happy to see Ghost XD
20. So... there’s just a troop of Crasters daughters out there still? Idek.
4x06 the laws of gods and men (and by men we mean Tywin)
1. Braavos is so pretty! I love her. I love her canals, I love the Titan, I love the domes, I just love her.
2. I remember when people lost their shit over Mark Gattis being in this episode. He is quite good here, and Davos is quite clever.
3. Salador’s joke about the red shirt is FUNNY and I’m not afraid to say so.
4. No one wants to see Ramsay having sex.
5. EVERYONE wants to see Yara giving a great speech.
6. She... ran from some dogs when she was burying her axe in dudes’ GUTS five seconds earlier? LAAAAAAME. Yes yes she also saw how fucked up in the head Theon was (more awards Alfie deserved and didn’t get), and she did want to lose any more people when he wasn’t willing to come but the way this was cut it reads like she was all OH NO DOGS which is the stupidest thing ever.
7. NOOOO POOR GOATS. I get that dragons have to eat though...
8. I cannot believe Dany didn’t take the time to FIND OUT WHICH MEEREENESE WERE LESS TERRIBLE. They would have been fucking allies. BUT NO LET’S JUST CRUCIFY PEOPLE WITH NO IDEA OF THE NUANCES OF THE LOCAL SITUATION. What stupidity.
9. At least she’s trying to learn??? She’s so small on that throne in a huge room. What a great shot.
10. Oberyn is a bisexual who CANNOT SIT IN A CHAIR NORMALLY. I am not complaining.
11. I cannot see the scene of Jaime and Tyrion walking down into the courtroom for the trial without giggling at the memory of the outtake where they dance like dorks into the room and down the aisle.
12. Jaime looking at Tyrion like YOU ARE NOT HELPING YOURSELF is a mood.
13. How did they get the poison necklace? Didn’t Littlefinger throw it in the Blackwater FAR off shore? A bit AFTER he killed Dontos? How does Pycelle have it here? Maybe they washed up together? Maybe D and D forgot Petyr tossed it in the bay? WHO KNOWS???
14. Jaime trying to convince Tywin one last time and offering to leave the kingsguard in exchange for Tyrion HOLY SHIT I FORGOT HE DID THAT. Cersei never would have spoken to him again if he’d left her and married and gone back to the Rock and given Tywin what he wanted. Jaime KNEW he was screwing over a relationship that means SO MUCH TO HIM but it’s TYRION’S LIFE we’re talking about here. That’s how much he loves his little brother.
15. Tywin is like DONE so fast Jaime barely gets the offer out lol
16. And it all would have worked if Shae hadn’t walked through those doors.
17. Do we know WHY Shae agreed to testify to this? What did Tywin offer her or threaten her with?
18. WHAT ARE YOU DOING LITTLE BRO WHY ARE YOU SAYING THIS?! is Jaime’s face all the time this scene.
19. Tyrion’s “confession”is such a piece of acting wow Peter enjoy your Emmys.
4x07
1. Jeez Tyrion didn’t know Jaime COULDN’T save him. He had no idea that losing his hand had affected his abilities that badly. That... hurts.
2. Arya, Sandor, and the dying farmer is such a great scene... And Arya only killing that asshole only after Sandor learns his name for her so she knows the name of the man she’s killing.... A++ would watch again.
3. Everyone LISTEN TO JON he has seen things none of you have.
4. Tyrion finding out Bronn has been bought is so very upsetting but I love this scene.
5. But really though once Tywin named The Mountain champion, anyone who Tyrion asks to be his champion at this point he’s basically asking to die.
6. Dany’s like “well I guess fucking Daario isn’t going to cause a political disaster at least.”
7. I had forgotten how fascinating Selyse and Melisandre’s interactions are.
8. IS THAT SETTING UP BURNING SHIREEN FUCK THAT.
9. Dany is capable of nuanced thought when it comes to innocence and guilt of whole groups of people and WE JUST SAW IT with how Jorah changes her mind and I’m JUST SO ANGRY.
10. That is the only time we get the story of Sandor and the fire from his own mouth and I did not mean to be this moved.
11. Hot Pie talking about food (oh yeah and Arya) is so precious. And now I want steak and kidney pie. With gravy.
12. “Using honest feelings to do dishonest work is one of her greatest talents.” The truest thing Tyrion has ever said about Cersei.
13. What a great snow castle. Too bad Joffrey part 2 knocked it down.
14. Ew ew ew Petyr kissing Sansa is so skeevy and gross.
15. “A great deal might change between now and never” is a great line though.
16. I hate Petyr but it’s good he pushed Lysa out the Moon Door before she killed Sansa.
4x08
1. Jon and Co all reminding Sam that Gilly is a survivor is so great. Brotherhood at its best.
2. Missandei and Grey Worm are young people with old souls and their relationship is precious to me.
3. Alfie is SO GOOD at showing how deeply Ramsay has him under his control even when he’s alone with the Ironborn.
4. Petyr is part Braavosi? Fascinating.
5. Sansa TOLD the Lords of Vale who she was??? Her testimony is such a good bit of acting on Sansa’s part. It’s a lie hidden in a lot of truth, and she was QUICK to think it through and come up with it.
6. Jorah telling Dany about the pardon is a scene that breaks my heart. 💔 She is HARSH here but I love the full blown Targaryen on display.
7. Roose being like TELL ME WHAT YOU SEE like the Lion King cracks me up so hard.
8. I will never give Ramsay the Bolton name in anything I write as long as I am a fan of this show out of pure hatred. He is Ramsay Snow forever and always.
9. I remember I was so worried that they were going to have Petyr try to sexually assault Sansa. OH I WAS A SWEET SUMMER CHILD.
10. Arya laughing at the news of Lady Arryn’s Death is an immensely human reaction and I love that she just CANNOT STOP.
11. I know people hated that scene with Jaime and Tyrion talking about beetles but I have two takeaways: first, a septon tried to touch Jaime once???? Headcanon: Little Jaime looked that septon dead in the eye and said “my father wouldn’t like that” and it never happened again. The septon was summarily replaced. Second: Jaime has never thought about ANYTHING in his whole life as deeply as baby Tyrion thought about beetles.
12. Oberyn is so fun to watch fight and Jaime agrees with me.
13. You don’t need him to confess Oberyn really you don’t you GOT HIM my beautiful prince.
14. How did the Gods make their will known if BOTH champions killed each other dead, huh Tywin? (The Mountain is... less Dead?)
4x09
1. Sam mulling over the legalistic interpretation of their vows and Jon trying to explain what sex and love are like are both SO CUTE.
2. I love that everyone around that fire has heard the “Tormund fucked a bear” story and I’m kind of sorry Ygritte didn’t let him finish.
3. Maester Aemon revealing his Targaryen identity was lovely. Also Sam Cussing to get Gilly in the gate= AMAZING
4. Alliser Thorne ADMITTING HE WAS WRONG? I am dead of shock.
5. Sam and Pyp talking about fear and bravery is... so darling.
6. They have A GIANT RIDING A MAMMOTH and I will forgive a small amount of nonsense for giving me that image.
7. See Alliser looking at the horn blower like REALLY? IN THE FUCKING MIDDLE OF MY SPEECH? Before they realize it’s the horn at Castle Black is PRICELESS.
8. Speaking of which I may not like Alliser but he gives a good “let’s not die” speech.
9. Bless Grenn for getting Janos Slynt off the wall.
10. Pyp dying in Sam’s arms was not something I was ready for.
11. You’ve heard of horsepower... now get ready for MAMMOTH POWER (wildling used mammoth salesmen probably)
12. Sam remembering that being NICE to Olly when asking to go up the wall rather than just screaming at him is... telling.
13. Grenn is THE BEST KID AND I LOVE HIM
14. Ghost is going to EAT SOME WILDLINGS
15. Ygritte :...(
16. How is Tormund even ALIVE??? He’s like a frickin PIN CUSHION.
17. “They held the gate” is a line that will make me cry now. Grenn and co. Didn’t let that giant through :...(
3x10: back when D and D remembered the Children existed that one time
Also back when Jaime had a plan that didn’t end with ANY OF HIS FAMILY KILLING EACH OTHER BUT TYWIN ENDS UP DEAD ANYWAY WHY ARE WE LIKE THIS.
1. Jon deciding single-handedly that he’s going to KILL Mance Rayder. Boss move.
2. Oh FFS. Pull the stick out of your ass Stannis and let Mance be.
3. Qyburn is like “out of my way bitch I’m doing necromancy”
4. Cersei telling Tywin the truth to get out of Marrying Loras is... still... making my jaw drop and I KNEW SHE WAS GOING TO DO IT. And there’s ACTUAL EMOTION on Tywin’s face and EVERYTHING SHE SAYS ABOUT PAYING SOME REAL FUCKING ATTENTION TO HIS FAMILY IS TRUE
5. Ah yes “Jaime writes his family’s dialogue” part one. I CHOOSE YOU OMG AND SEX IN THE LORD COMMANDER’S OFFICE I CANNOT BELIEVE WE GOT THAT. Even if I’m still on the fence about whether Jaime would be ok with doing it THERE I’m mostly on board because she JUST TOLD DAD THE TRUTH AND TOLD HIM HE WAS THE ONE SHE WANTED AND I DON’T KNOW WHO LET THE SHIPPERS WRITE THIS SCENE BUT YAY.
6. Dany is still learning all kinds of nuance... I feel like the year contract thing was an attempt to balance her need to be a liberator and the reality on the ground?
7. You are telling me that the Dany who was that upset at Drogon eating ONE child let him burn a WHOLE CITY? I call bullshit.
8. Also this is a CLASSIC example of “one sibling does something wrong and the other two get punished for it” poor Viserion and Rhaegal.
9. Maester Aemon knows how to give a mass eulogy.
10. MEANWHILE NORTH OF THE NORTH HI BRAN meet the hugest weirwood in Westeros AND SOME ICE ZOMBIES
11. POOR MEERA I FORGOT SHE HAD TO HELP JOJEN DIE
12. If the children can do that WHERE ARE THEY LATER
13. holy shit bloodraven is creepy
14. Arya and Brienne meeting :) so cute
15. And Sandor being like YOU ARE TOO NAIVE TO PROTECT HER is cute in its own way.
16. Wow Brienne and Sandor really knock the shit out of each other how are they still alive.
17. Sandor saying awful things to Arya to make it easier for her to kill him was tragic and you can see the desperation in his eyes even as he says the worst of it.
18. JAIME LANNISTER MAKES DECISIONS HE WILL REGRET LATER LIKE NOT GOING ALL OF THE WAY TO THE BOAT WITH TYRION
19. I Had forgotten how rough that last conversation between Tywin and Tyrion was and how devastating those performances are.
20. Varys being like oh fuck those bells I’m going too... prescient.
21. Love the music with Arya on the ship to Braavos!

Chapter 14 - Wargs, dragons and dark magic
"I can't believe I'm actually doing this."
At Osha's mumbled complaint, Ylina let out a laugh. As she laid back on the bathtub placed in the middle of her room, she rubbed both hands over her big stomach and closed her eyes, enjoying Osha's fingers treading through her hair as she washed the lady's vibrant red hair.
"I have never asked of you to wash my hair." The younger girl was quick to notice. "You were the one who offered your services."
"And you said yes." Osha countered, as Ylina shrugged, opening her eyes so that she could look up at the woman who was sat by her head.
"As much my friend as you are, you are still my maid."
"You are lucky I like you, pretty lady, because if I didn't, I would've killed you a long time ago."
"Good thing you didn't. If you had, I would have never gotten to experience such a great head massage. You are even better at it than Prya. And she has been doing my hair for years now."
"Yeah, well, don't get used to it, because I won't be doing it again."
"Is washing my hair such a boring task?" Ylina chuckled as Osha poured some hot water down her head gently. "You can leave me to it if you'd like."
"It's fine." Osha shook her head. "I'm almost done anyway. And I have something else to discuss with you."
At that, the girl sighed. Sliding down slightly in the bathtub, Ylina lifted one of her legs and rested it over the cold metal of the edge of the tub.
"What is it?" She asked tracing patterns in her thighs as a way of distracting herself.
"Bran had Hodor take him outside earlier." Osha started as Ylina nodded.
"So I've heard."
"How?"
"The guards are instructed to tell me where my brothers are at all times, especially if they decide to leave the castle." Ylina shrugged. "I don't want to forbid them from leaving, but I also need to know when they do."
With a nod of her own, Osha finished washing Ylina's hair and reached for one of her towels to start drying it.
"Yeah, well… He's insisting he can get inside Summer's body." The woman said, causing Ylina to gulp down hard.
"He talks to me about it sometimes." She said. "I never know what to say back to him. What do you make of it?"
"I don't make anything, Ylina."
"Osha…" The girl groaned, putting her leg back into the water and extending a hand out for her to take it. "The only thing I can think about is warging but Bran isn't controlling Summer, so it can't be it."
"Warging is a rare thing, Ylina. Even beyond the wall." Osha said, holding Ylina's hand tight as the girl climbed out of the tub, being careful about her very big pregnant stomach. "The boy already dreams about a raven of three eyes. Don't fill his head with shit like this."
"I don't." Ylina defended, grabbing the towels from Osha as the woman stepped back for her to dry herself up. "He already has his head filled. Old nan who used to care for him and Rickon used to tell him stories like that. He remembers and he's worried he is one of them."
"Do you people believe in this?"
"Well, that is a difficult question to answer, I admit." Ylina said, turning around motioning for Osha to help her inside her dress. "Some people don't. Most people, I suppose. Wargs, dragons and dark magic… It's been so long since we've last seen them and people seem to have forgotten about it. But we have seen it all before. We have seen dragons. We have seen wargs. We have definitely seen dark magic. We haven’t, for a long time, it’s true, but why couldn't they return? What would stop them from making an appearance again?"
"You want to believe it." Osha noted, tying up the back of Ylina's dress, careful not to constrain her too much. "You want to believe in wargs, dragons and dark magic."
"I don't want to. But I might have to." She frowned, before spinning around to face Osha. "What do you believe in?"
At that, Osha sighed.
"When you grow up north of the wall, you learn that not believing in stuff is stupid."
"So you have seen it." Ylina insisted. "Wargs, dark magic and dragons."
Walking away from the girl, Osha grabbed her hairbrush and stopped by the closed doors of her chambers.
"Haven't seen a dragon, pretty lady. But I might pretty soon."
"What do you mean?" Ylina frowned.
"Look outside. There's a red falling star."
"Some say the red is the color of the Lannisters." The girl bit her lip, causing Osha to shake her head. “Some say it means Robb will win the next battle he fights.”
“They do, do they?” The wildling woman mumbled, as Ylina frowned.
“What do you say?” She asked. “I’m sure a blood red comet in the sky means something to everyone. Even beyond the wall. Especially beyond the wall.”
"Stars don't fall for people, pretty lady."
"But they do for dragons?"
"But they do for dragons." She mumbled, before opening the door and ushering Ylina's other maids inside.
As the three girls rushed to Ylina to do her hair and help her in her boots and coat, the grey eyes of the lady never once left Osha. With a small smile, the wildling woman moved to close the door.
"I will go check on Rickon, pretty lady. Call us when you are done."
***
It had been a long day and Ylina was tired. Her feet hurt, her back hurt, her head hurt… Being pregnant sucked, having to carry a baby around and still having to get up and do stuff was one of the worst things she has ever experienced, one of the most difficult ones. That was probably why men didn't do it. Ylina was sure neither Theon or Robb would have been able to do what she was doing and, picturing the two of them heavily pregnant while dealing with common people every day of their lives and whining the whole day about it was basically the only thing making her day worth living.
Of course her happiness was short-lived because as soon as the doors of her study were pushed open and there stood Maester Luwin with a paper roll in his hands, Ylina felt his heart drop.
"Do not worry, my lady. It is not from your brother."
And just like that, the girl allowed herself to breath properly again. Waving her hand, Maester Luwin took that as his signal to walk inside and close the door behind him. As soon as he did, he walked toward one of the chairs in front of Ylina and sat down, before handing her the roll.
Picking it up, Ylina frowned, when she saw the stag on the stamp. It was the Baratheon symbol, but not the one she was used to. Not the crowned stag of Robert and Joffrey. The one in the stamp in her hands now, had a stag, stoic and beautiful in front of a fire. Without asking any questions, Ylina pulled the roll open and her confusion only increased as she read the letters.
Ylina Greyjoy, Lady of Winterfell.
I, Stannis of House Baratheon, rightful heir to the Iron Throne, declare upon the honor of my house that my brother Robert left no trueborn heirs. The boy Joffrey, the boy Tommen, and the girl Myrcella being born of incest between Cersei Lannister and her brother Ser Jaime Lannister, the Kingslayer.
By right of birth and blood, I do this day lay claim to the Iron Throne of Westeros.
Let all true men declare their loyalty.
"A bastard? Joffrey Baratheon is a bastard?" Ylina asked, surprised. “And of an incest, no less?”
Extending his hand out toward the girl, Maester Luwin waited for Ylina to give him the letter. As he read it over, the girl took her time to try and make sense of everything. Joffrey Baratheon was a bastard.
"This is a serious accusation they are making, my lady. Incestous activity is frowned upon in every corner of Westeros." The Maester said. “It strips a man of all integrity and honor.”
"I wouldn't put it past the Lannisters. Everyone knows that family has no scrupulous, let alone honor." The girl said, getting up from her seat and rubbing at the small of her back for comfort. "And where were the Queen and Ser Jaime when Bran fell from the broken tower?"
"Ylina…"
"Ser Jaime didn't go out hunting with Father and the boys, did he? And Queen Cersei? Where was she?"
"I don't know, my lady."
"What if that was it? What if the blonde hair Mother found wasn't Tyrion's? But Cersei's? Or even Jaime's? What if Bran saw the two of them together and that was why he was pushed off the tower? It makes sense, doesn't it?"
"It does." Maester Luwin nodded slowly, as Ylina sighed. "But we have no concrete evidence. It is all very circunstancial, really."
"But it is possible."
"Don't hold a grudge against someone just because you want to believe something is true, my lady. It is not wise nor fair."
"Fair?" Ylina scoffed. "Bran has never fallen from anywhere during his climbings. The boy has climbed every single wall and tree we have in this castle and never once have I seen him even slip. When the royal family is here, he finally does. After years of climbing, he falls right when the King and Queen are here. Then, we learn he was pushed and that the Queen has been keeping the truth about her children a secret. It does seem rather suspicious, doesn't it?"
"Suspicious indeed, my lady. But not confirmed."
"Well, it's not like I am going to do anything about it. Stannis Baratheon did all the job, anyway. I bet he sent this letter to every lord out there in Westeros. Everyone now has learned the truth, so I don’t have much to do about it." The girl said, walking around the study to try and ease the pain in her muscles. "Robb will, though. I know he will."
"Your brother is fighting a war against a King already. If he refuses Stannis' call, he will have two strong enemies to fight."
"King Robb has an army and people loyal to him." Ylina countered, stopping in front of the window and looking out to the snow covered hills around Winterfell. "He's won every battle he's fought so far. He is a good strategist and even Tywin Lannister is said to be wary about him now. Robb was nominated King in the North by the very people he was meant to protect his whole life. I know he won't bend the knee. Not to Stannis, not to Joffrey, not even to Renly. Robb Stark is our King and he will bring home our sisters and the indepence of our Kingdom. I know he will."
"Your faith in our King is a commendable thing." Maester Luwin smiled gently as the girl simply sighed.
"I have faith in Robb. I always have and I always will. He will come home soon, I know it. And finally, we get to make him a throne and a crown and the North will know prosperity and safety as it has, for centuries."
"May the gods be good allow us this blessing." The Maester said, as Ylina nodded slightly.
"May the gods be good."
Once again, the room fell silent, but before any of them could do anything about it, the door of the study was pushed open and a guard stood there. When Ylina and Maester Luwin turned around to face him, the man bowed slightly.
"Maester. My lady." He said, continuing when Ylina gave him a nod. "There are ravens coming from all of the Kingdom. Lords and ladies demand to know if Stannis Baratheon is to be our new King."
"The lords and ladies think Robb will bend the knee?" Ylina asked, surprised.
"The lords and ladies don't know King Robb like you do, my lady.” Maester Luwin was quick to explain. “They know your father. And they know your father would have bent the knee for the rightful heir, whoever he was."
With a sigh, Ylina nodded. It was true. Ned Stark was a honorable fool, never once faltering when honor and duty were required, thinking that those two things were always of the utmost importance and that the people he was dealing with thought so too. Ylina admired him, she really did. But she knew better. She knew that, to survive, one has to lie and, most often than not, go down a path where honor and duty don't fit. She knew that the people she was playing against knew nothing about fairness and honesty. That was the Northern way of doing things, the Stark way. But it wasn’t or everyone. Most people only knew betrayal and corruption, never thinking twice before doing anything that would get them closer to their goal, never faltering when putting someone else at risk, never hesitating to think about all the danger they might putting other people in. She knew, but her father didn't. That was why she was alive and Ned Stark wasn't.
"Very well." The girl decided, looking at the guard as the man straightened his posture when his lady addressed him. "Fetch me ink and a feather. I will write to the lords and ladies myself and tell them Robb is still their King and will be until the end of his days."
With a nod, the guard left the room. Ylina moved to sit in her chair again as Maester Luwin watched her struggle with her belly. With a proud smile, he saw, for the first time, not the little girl he used to teach all those years ago. Not the little girl always eager to learn about the history of every Great House there ever was. Not the little girl who always asked the best questions and never settled for half an answer. For the first time in years, Maester Luwin saw the woman Ylina became and the one she had the potential of becoming.

For the GoT crossovers, how about KHR? Because I think anyone from that would be hilarious in GoT

How about KHR for the GoT meme? (Glad to see you’re okay!)
7/7 GoT Crossover Fix-Its: The Dying Will of Fire and Ice
So the scene actually gets set by the Arcobaleno being reincarnated first. Mostly as younger siblings and branch members of various houses.
Luce hasn’t learned her lesson, so she’s still aggravatingly passive about following the path laid out in her visions of the future. Which, to be entirely fair, is also a problem that Westros Greenseers have. So Elia Martell still marries Rhaegar Targaryen despite Elia also being Luce, and despite Luce knowing that it’s going to result in her eventual murder.
Except the Arcobaleno are well aware of Luce’s passive self-destructive tendencies this time around. So when Oberyn who is Reborn gets exiled for a bit, he goes and trains with the Faceless Men because cosplay is always a useful skill. And then Oberyn sneaks into the Red Keep during the siege because Aria is still Reborn’s daughter even if Rhaenerys is actually Oberyn’s niece. Meanwhile Mammon was born a Lannister, and they’ve been spying on Tywin constantly so they know exactly what he intends to do when the siege is broken. So Mammon grabs Lal, who was born to House Lorch, and Lal puts a crossbow bolt or six through Gregor and Armory’s heads.
Mammon conjures a few Real Illusion body doubles for Elia and the kids and the Arcobaleno take off for where Skull who was born a Greyjoy is waiting with a ship to get the fuck away in. Meanwhile Colonello who was born to House Fowler, Fon who was born to House Mullendore, and Verde who was born to House Reed are busy disabling the Wildfire depots and killing all the pyromancers. Which yes, does involve killing Aerys and knocking out Jaime Lannister as a favour to Mammon. So there’s no Kingslayer stigma to make Jaime get as bitter and cynical as he was in the original song.
Of course, Varys has already switched baby Aegon out with another infant with the Valeryian look so that whole thing with Young Griff is still going to happen. Which really pisses off the Arcobaleno because they’ve got this whole thing where they consider Luce’s kids to be their kids because Luce has a habit of dying before the kids hit double digits. And this time Luce’s passiveness would’ve gotten Aria and an innocent baby violently killed. So Elia gets shoved off on Doran while Oberyn arranges for Rhaenerys to be known as Aria Sand, one of his growing number of daughters.
Aegon’s going to stay with Jon Connigton though, because the Arcobaleno respect godparent rights. I think I’m going to make the body-double Varys snatched be Ashara Dayne’s baby. And Verde is the one tasked with taking the kid back to Starfall once he, Fon, and Colonello catch up with the rest of the Arcobaleno. Which derails Ashara’s suicide and adds another body to the group of Northmen who go to the Tower of Joy. The Lightning Arcobaleno who is also a Maester, because of course the scientist went and trained at the Citadel.
So obviously the Northmen survive, and so does Lyanna. Although the fever leaves her… more than a little loco. So there’s no way to get the real story of the abduction out of her, and Ned has to break the news that Robert needs to pick a different bride, since the bad birth left Lyanna barren and brain damaged. On their way back to King’s Landing Ned needs to figure out what he’s going to do with baby Jon, because he can’t let it be known that the kid is Lyanna’s, and not just because Lyanna isn’t fit to be a parent. Ned doesn’t know about the Arcobaleno’s rescue scheme, so the argument between Ned and Robert over dead children still happened, and letting it be known that Jon’s a Targaryen is a death sentence. Luckily Ashara agrees to claim Jon is also her bastard with Brandon, the younger twin to her other son. They come up with a story about Ned exchanging the sword Dawn for custody of Jon and possible legitimization by the new King to cover their tracks.
So we still have Cersei Lannister marrying Robert Baratheon, but it’s both better and worse than canon. Better, in that Robert got closure, got to say goodbye to Lyanna and had proof that she wasn’t ever going to be the kind of bride he was imagining. Worse, in that Cersei actually comes face-to-face with the woman who got everything Cersei presumably wanted and has to see how badly damaged that left Lyanna. It’s not a comfortable situation for anyone. Ned is ready to go back North about 3 seconds after the bedding ceremony.
Of course with Jon supposedly being Brandon’s son that Ned has taken as his ward Catelyn is much nicer to him. Which is always nice to be able to arrange. Plus, Robert is touched enough that Ashara gave up her “Northern son” to Ned that he officially legitimizes both the boys as his first official act as King. So we’ve got Vorian Dayne and Jon Stark from the very beginning.
Past the Rebellion, Cersei’s first pregnancy actually comes to term. Cersei still takes the Moon Tea because of her narcissistic incest fetish, but Dying Will Flame ex machina means that by the time Cersei realizes that the Tea didn’t work she’s too far along to abort without risking her own life. So Orys Baratheon, first of his Name, is born black of hair and crimson of eye. Because yes, Orys is also Xanxus, the legitimate heir to the Iron Throne. Which is going to be legitimately hilarious further down the line.
Cersei of course isn’t all that invested in Robert’s son despite the kid being hers too because of that narcissism thing I mentioned earlier. So Joffrey is the second born son this time, then Myrcella is born, and both are Jaime’s kids just like in the first version of the song. Cersei slacks off a bit around when she gets pregnant with Tommen, and so she gets fraternal twins this time. Tommen has the Lannister look, and Steffon has the Baratheon look. Which throws off any doubters because it’s not like anyone on Westros knows how hyper-fecundity works.
Xanxus twigs to Cersei being off her nut pretty fast, but he’s used to having a mother prone to delusions. Also Robert being a wasteful jackass is a familiar problem from back in the mafia life. So Xanxus starts acting as Heir as soon as he’s tall enough to climb up onto the seat at the Council table. Sky Flames mean he’s pretty good at getting people to listen to him despite needing a book to sit on so that’s good. Littlefinger doesn’t stay on the Small Council long because Xanxus gets him kicked off and replaced with Mammon, which accidentally endears him to Cersei for appointing a Lannister. That wasn’t his intent but yeah, okay, whatever.
Hilariously, Mammon and Stannis get along like a house on fire, including the bit where people flee screaming because they’re terrifying as a team. Xanxus is pleased. Robert ends up on a budget and he doesn’t even argue with it because Mist Flames are useful like that.
Orys beats Joffrey black and blue for the cat thing, but it’s pretty obvious even as the punishment is happening that Joffrey is the bad kind of crazy. Xanxus quietly starts making plans to “accident” Joffrey before he inherits a position with any sort of authority, and Steffon is charged with keeping Myrcella and Tommen safe from Joffrey in the meantime. Since Cersei is focused on pampering Joffrey and fighting with Robert, it’s easy to quietly arrange for Tommen to go to Dragonstone on occasion. With Tommen and Shireen betrothed, the Baratheon Name with continue to hold the Heir’s Seat. Steffon is going to inherit Storm’s End unless Renly marries and has a son, of course. Tsuna’s just happy he doesn’t have to be in charge this time.
With Mammon’s assistance, Aria and Xanxus have arranged for Orys Baratheon and Rhaenerys Targaryen to be betrothed, which will fully unify the last of the devisions in the Realm left over from the Rebellion. Luce is not consulted on this decision, and Varys’ little plot with Connington and Aegon is considered to be a source of amusement. Aria is being raised with Arianne and getting the education the future Queen of the Seven Kingdoms deserves. Also, the loser serves the winner and the Baratheon’s won the Rebellion so Aegon, Jon, and Viserys are non-contenders in the eyes of the Arcobaleno.
Without Littlefinger’s position on the Small Council he can’t divert Crown funds into his own pockets, so he can’t expand his enterprises and thus is stuck trying to make something of his holdfast instead of seducing Lysa. So there’s no one to smuggle Lysa the Tears of Lys, and Robin gets fostered out as planned. Which is definitely going to expose Lysa’s less than stellar mental stability. Of course, this also means that Jon Arryn still lives so there’s no excuse to travel North yet.
The Arcobaleno are their usual chaotic selves in the meantime, but Mammon, Fon, and Reborn team up to gather the Guardians that belong to the three Skies in their care. Mammon of course goes looking for the Varia, but this time Reborn is focused on finding the Giglio Nero Guardians, and instead it’s Fon who gets to collect the Vongola 10th Gen because of the Kyouya thing. Which, yeah, is pretty obviously the place to start.
Fon keeps an eye on his birth House of Mullendore, and when he visits his new nephew he recognizes Kyouya’s Flames immediately and notifies the others to keep an eye on their relations because it’s not just the Arcobaleno who are being reincarnated in Westros. Of course, at some point further down the line I-Pin gets reincarnated as a Mullendore too, but that’s still a bit aways.
In Dorne we’re going to have Squalo and Hayato, who are going to be related somehow and from House Yronwood, which means Reborn is the one who finds them and passes them on to Mammon for introductions. Hayato’s mother will be from House Qorgyle, which will also produce Bianche. Who, in fact, is going to be Aria’s eventual Storm Guardian. Reborn approves of this, yes.
In the Crownlands, House Brune will produce Gamma who gets shunted over to Aria’s side post haste. From the Westerlands, House Serrett will produce Lussaria for Xanxus, and House Prester is will eventually produce Lambo for Tsuna. Chikusa is going to be born to House Drox. In the Reach House Varner will produce Belphagor who gets scooped up by Mammon immediately. House Willum will produce Takeshi at around the same time, so that’ll be interesting. In the Riverlands Lancia will be born to House Paege, and House Vypren is going to eventually produce Fran. In the North House Glover will produce Ryohei, while Basil will be born to House Manderly. House Karstark is going to produce Ken. From the Iron Islands Leviathan is born to House Volmark, while Mukuro and Chrome are born to House Farwynd.
Dino and the Cavallone are going to be reincarnated as the Knights of the Vale, and Dino is a cadet branch Arryn who is eventually appointed to act as Jon’s regent in the Vale while Jon lives in King’s Landing as Robert’s Hand. It’s a tossup if Robin will inherit or not, given that he’s not mentally sound and Dino has been earning the loyalty of the Vale lords for something like five years or so by the time the original story starts.
Funny story, but it turns out that Aegon is actually Byakuran. Maybe they should’ve paid more attention to him after all. Whoopsies.
Anyway there’s a stupid amount of adventures and shenanigans as the various Settes are reunited and events from the original version of the song start to pick up. There’s going to be some sort of fracas when Robert decides that he wants his oldest son to marry Ned’s girl and Orys informs his father that he’s already brokered with Dorne to marry one of their Princesses. Which might just be the impetus that sends Robert haring off North in a rage, dragging his children and the rest of the Court behind him.
Xanxus likes the dire wolves and is stupidly impressed by Ned Stark’s loyalty to his family and his ability to tell Robert ‘no’ when it’s important. So Orys requests a private meeting with Lord Stark and manages to get across to the man that Joffrey got a heavy dose of “Targaryen Madness coupled with Baratheon Fury”. So instead of Sansa and Joffrey, it’s Arya and Steffon who get betrothed. Which means a Stark girl is set to be the future Lady of Storm’s End and that makes Robert happy. Plus Steffon might have swooned a little over Arya’s muscles. Just a little. Still, this made Arya happy, which makes Ned happy, and Catelyn is ecstatic because Arya has agreed to marry a Prince and it’s everything Catelyn ever wanted.
Obviously, no one is telling Catelyn that Steffon has arranged for Arya to get combat lessons from Fon and Lal. Nope. Shhh, it’s a secret.
Anyway, with Intuition being a thing Bran’s fall is averted by the simple fact of him not having the time to be climbing the Broken Tower because Steffon is occupying all of his time. And also Tsuna keeps dragging Bran and Arya out into the Godswood and the Wolf’s Wood for their own little hunting parties. So the fall is a thing that never happens. Somewhere in the Neck, Jojen Reed is flipping tables because the Future can’t make up its mind about being horrible or being the best possible future.
Xanxus decides he wants to see the Wall, so he and his Guardians head up further North with Tyrion to check it out. Giant fuck-off Wall made of Zero-Point Breakthrough Ice makes Xanxus paranoid. It was built to hold something back. Something a hell of a lot scarier than some slightly unhygienic dudes with overgrown beards. So Xanxus wants all the records from the Night’s Watch castles transcribed and copies sent to King’s Landing. Oh, and he finds dragon eggs of his own, either in Winterfell’s crypts or he’s going to get them from Maester Aemon, I’m not entirely sure at this point.
Daenerys’ storyline doesn’t change much, so at some point when the Seven Kingdoms are gearing up to fight against armies of the walking dead she shows up expecting to fight the Usurper for the Iron Throne and instead Rhaenerys lays the smackdown on her auntie. Bester, Natsu, and Cosmo II are all dragons, so it’s not like Daenerys’ children are going to give her the advantage either.
Anyway, when the Young Griff thing comes to a head everyone’s going to be super surprised when Aegon abdicates his position as Rhaegar’s heir in favour of his older sister. But eh, Byakuran mostly wants to laze around with pretty Ladies and eat honey cakes. Being King is far too much work. Somehow though he ends up marrying Sansa and taking charge of the Gifts. He has no sweet clue how but they actually have a very functional marriage for a couple of dreamers.
The Night King gets a crossbow bolt full of Wrath Flames to the face. The End.

Born To Be Yours | Part VII
Sansa Stark x Fem! Baratheon! Reader (Daenerys Targaryen x Fem! Baratheon! Reader eventually)

Note: If you’re enjoying the story leave a comment, it means so much! <3
Pt.1 Pt.2 Pt.3 Pt.4 Pt.5 Pt.6 Pt.8 Pt.9
Tumblr media
It was a lovely day. And you chose to spend it with your best friend. At least you can keep each other company without anyone disturbing you.
“Let’s have a walk in the gardens.” You invited Sansa after knocking her door. She opened it revealing her divine hair done in a southerner style.
“Why such a beautiful princess would want to waste her time with someone like me? I mean... of course I’ll go-“ she bit her lip and flushed. You giggled.
“Not a waste at all.” She shyly smiled.
“This flower... is gorgeous!” It doesn’t compare to your beauty. “I’ve never seen one like it. They don’t grow in the North.”
“Yes, they are rare yet special. They are called The Middlemist Red. Actually, there’s only two of these left in the world, as far as I know. The other one is on Highgarden.” You commented gazing at her.
“You also have vast knowledge in botany.”
“I am familiar with the topic. I have friends who live there. They taught me.”
“Ser Loras?”
“Indeed. He is one of my best. Now he’s with my uncle Renly, they have always been closer, I can’t blame him. His sister is married to him.”
“Do you want to marry a handsome lord?”
“Sure. Just not now. Or anytime soon. First I want to travel. Meet people. Have adventures. So when I’m old and grey I have a lot of memories.”
“Arya wanted that too. Robb and you would have made a good match.” Sansa’s stomach twisted at her own words. She didn’t know why.
“He was a gentleman. I respect him and I understand his position. He wants justice. I know the last thing you desire in the world is to marry my brother.”
“I was so stupid... a stupid girl with a stupid dream of marrying a handsome prince.
He turned out to be my worst nightmare.”
“Hey hey, you are not stupid. Every girl would dream that. The circumstances didn’t play in your favor. But daylight will always come. It’s not your fault. Nothing’s gonna hold you down for long.” You sympathetically reassured.
“Thank you, Y/N. You are so good with words.” You resumed your steps and continued talking about the flowers.
“I want to introduce you to someone. Dear Y/N. This is Shae.” Tyrion said. The young woman clumsy bowed.
“It’s a pleasure, Princess Y/N. Your uncle always speaks about you.” Her accent sounded foreign.
“Nice to meet you, Shae.”
“I was planning to make her your new handmaid but since you don’t really need handmaidens I’ll be giving her to your beloved friend Sansa Stark.”
“I’m sure she’ll be pleased with your service, my lady.” Shae left. “Are you in love with her?” You playfully inquired once you were alone.
“Shae is special.” He looked quite smitten to her, the way he looked at her gave him away.
“If she makes you happy then I’m happy for you, uncle.”
“I intend to keep her safe. If your mother, my father, or someone finds out it’ll be a mess. Just Varys knows and now you.”
“I won’t breathe a word.” You crossed your heart. And you would never betray his confidence, he was the one to comfort you when your mother and Joffrey were unkind.
What a consideration of Cersei to host a dinner for your two younger siblings, the northern girl and you. You tried to keep a good face so your mother wouldn’t be scolding you for her own falseness. You seated next to Sansa. Myrcella and Tommen in front of you and Cersei at the top of the table. The room was awkward and quiet.
“When will Joffrey and Sansa be married?” Myrcella suddenly asked.
“Soon, darling, when the war is over.” Cersei answered.
“Mother says I’ll have a new gown for the ceremony and another for the feast. But yours will be ivory since you are the bride.” She joyfully announced but the tall girl didn’t reply back.
“The Princess just spoke to you.” The lioness peered at Myr and then at Sansa.
“Pardon, your grace. I’m sure your dress will be beautiful, Myrcella. I’m counting the days until the fight is done and I can pledge my love to the King in the sight of the gods.” She staged a very pitiful smile.
“Is Joffrey going to kill Sansa’s brother?” Now the little prince asked.
“He might.” Sansa took a big sip of her cup, hiding her fear and pain. “Would you like that?” He frowned.
“No. I don’t think so.”
“Even if he does, Sansa will do her duty. Won’t you, little dove?” You bit your tongue. Seeing her like that broke your heart. She was on the brink of tears.
“We can’t be certain of anything. The food was delicious.” Changing the topic was the first thing that came to your mind.
“It’s a pretty ring, where did you get it, little dove?” Cersei glare landed suspiciously at her finger. She opened her mouth but didn’t utter a single word. You put your hand on Sansa’s to calm her anxiety.
“I gave it to her so she can remember her home, mother.”
“The home of traitors.” She bitterly laughed.
“I lost my appetite. Excuse us.” You gestured Sansa to stand up and left the place. “May I escort you to your chambers, my lady?” She nodded lowering her head.
“Your brother and your sister are just as friendly as you, Y/N.”
“They like you. I apologize for my mother’s behavior. Have a lovely night.” You bid her goodnight, she gave you a quick hug and then you couldn’t help but kissed swiftly her cheek, the torches were burning low so you didn’t quite see her reaction. You hoped you didn’t make her feel uncomfortable.
The following day you chatted with uncle Tyrion. He told you some news you weren’t expecting.
“Your sister must go. She will be promised to Prince Trystane of Dorne. I tell you before you learn from your mother.”
“She won’t like that. She’s so young, uncle... I don’t know.” It was true, giving her to strangers and people who despise your family didn’t sound like a good idea.
“She’ll be safer there if the city falls when one of the self-proclaimed Kings come.” He had a point.
“You are right.” Still, you feared for Myrcella.
You walked to the throne room just to find the King humiliating the Stark girl and shouting things at her with all the lords and ladies contemplating the scene. She was on her knees, with her garments all ripped out.
“If we want Robb Stark to hear us we’re going to have to speak louder!” Ser Meryn was ready to strike her.
“Stop it! What do you think you’re doing?” You furiously yelled.
“Are you crazy? What kind of knight beats a helpless girl?” Tyrion intervened.
“The kind who serves his king, Imp.” Meryn responded.
“Careful now. We don’t want to get blood all over your pretty white cloak.” Bronn added looking at him, a hand on his sword.
“Here, my lady.” You took off your cape. Luckily you were wearing one today. “What did I told you about treating her like this? She did nothing wrong. Have you no regard for her honor, brother? She is going to be your queen!”
“I’m punishing her.” He complained.
“For what crimes? She did not fight her brother’s battle, you half-wit.” The youngest Lannister repressed him.
“You can’t talk to me like that. The king does as he likes!” Joffrey whined.
“The Mad King did as he liked. Has your uncle Jaime ever told you what happened to him?”
“No one threatens his grace on the presence of the kingsguard.” The awful knight spoke.
“I’m not. I’m just educating my nephew. Bronn, next time Ser Meryn speaks, kill him. That was a threat. See the difference?”
“Come.” You helped Sansa got up.
“Tell us the truth. Do you want an end to this engagement?” The throne room followed you with their glances.
“I am loyal to King Joffrey. My one true love.” You shook your head to the short man. Sansa walked out just as if nothing had happened. You knew too well she had to keep pretending, the wrong people might hear if she said what she really wanted to say.
Late at night you found yourself staring at the ceiling of your room. You were thinking about Sansa, oh how hard you were falling for that smile and those blue eyes... she was perfect, but of course she’ll never feel the same way, considering the possibility was silly. She deserved to be loved, you could love her, would she let you do it? No, you were also a girl. Being around her was enough, protecting her and keeping the promise you made to Lady Catelyn. Your little sister is going off to some strange land, gods, life is getting harder...

Jon and Dany’s fates are tied together.
Jaime and Cersei seem to be the narrative foils of Jon and Dany.
They were together since childhood, forming a relationship that had been more about lust than love. They went incredibly far to conceal their affair from the realm, or otherwise see their children executed by Robert Baratheon. Throughout the entire relationship, Cersei would bring out the worst aspects of Jaime’s personality, and cause him to forsake any morality he may have held.
Many believe that just as they entered the world together, they will exit the world in a very violent end.
Tumblr media
Jon and Dany only recently met within the narrative. They had held prejudices against one another before ever meeting due to the horrors inflicted between the Starks and Targaryens during Robert’s Rebellion. Upon meeting one another, they became frustrated with each other’s stubbornness and yet developed a level of respect for one another. Although there was a mutual attraction between them, Jon and Daenerys only accepted their love for one another after suffering through tragedy together.
This alliance will be one of the few hopes Westeros really has against the White Walkers, and for a future beyond the multiple wars the entire continent has suffered through.
Tumblr media
I have little reason to doubt that Daenerys is the younger, more beautiful queen of Cersei’s nightmares. Keeping that in mind, Jon seems likely to obtain the reputation of a hero that Jaime pursued in his youth.
Jon and Jaime - Hero and Oathbreaker
In the single scene that Jon shares with Jaime, we see a jaded knight mock the fresh faced recruit that is about to sign his life away into a brotherhood that is long past its days of honor. Although in the beginning of the story the viewer might believe that Jaime is simply being pompous about Jon’s decision, we later learn that he only felt this way after facing nothing but disappointment in his career.
The Kingsguard was modeled after the Night’s Watch, and Jaime could not help but see a little of his younger self in Jon. He was once selected personally by King Aerys II, which was unheard of considering Jaime’s young age. Of course, the Mad King only did this out of spite towards Tywin Lannister and not because he saw Jaime as talented.
Despite saving half a million lives by stopping the Mad King’s wildfire plot during the sack of King’s Landing, the realm would only see him as nothing more than a Kingslayer. He was not treated as a hero, but as a criminal that only escaped justice due to having a rich and powerful father.
Tumblr media
Once Barristan Selmy was forced to leave, Jaime’s brothers no longer included men of renown but instead allowed scum like Meryn Trant to stand by the King.
Although Jon would face similar disappointments in the Night’s Watch and even death, his reputation grew far beyond anyone’s expectations. These events earned him the respect of the Freefolk, his brothers in black, and many Northerners as he fought to free his home from the Boltons.
They named a supposed bastard as a King, and practically revered him after all was said and done. Jon lost the woman he loved and was denied any romantic connection, and yet gained the the admiration of a kingdom. Jaime only had more to lose after his service to a mad man, a drunk, and now an insane former lover. He almost always had what he believed to be love, but could never find true happiness within his relationship.
Tumblr media
On the other hand, Jon’s relationship with Dany has given him many opportunities that he once thought unlikely. Despite hearing of her infertility, Jon wants to build a home with Dany. Formalities aside, their relationship is a balanced one rather the clash based on morality that has often occurred between Jaime and Cersei.
In Season 8, there’s a good chance that Jon will be one of the main factors in saving Westeros and achieve renown that far exceeds Jaime’s wildest dreams.
Jaime’s reputation will possibly be redeemed in the eyes of the realm, but it seems clear to me that Jon’s journey runs parallel to the Lannister who had the look of a knight in shining armor.
Dany and Cersei - Strength, despite tragedy.
The two remaining queens of the series have been more directly compared, to the point of Dany’s Invasion aiming to remove Cersei from the Iron Throne. To truly realize just how much their characters contrast however, one must look at their journeys from the beginning to current events.
Cersei often had no control over the events of her life, or the unfortunate tragedies that faced her family. Despite how cruel and truly evil she is, there are many reasons as to why Cersei transformed into such a malicious person. She placed nearly all blame of her mother’s death on Tyrion, and from that point only saw him as a monster with little to no redeeming qualities.
Death may be the most common occurrence around Cersei, as the loss of all of her children seemed inevitable after she heard Maggy the Frog’s prophecy. She wanted to marry Rhaegar Targaryen, but he was instead married off to Elia Martell and later chose Lyanna Stark above all else. This extended to Robert Baratheon, who killed Rhaegar because he wanted to be with Lyanna.
Cersei had never been the first choice in anyone’s life, from childhood to adulthood.
Tumblr media
Daenerys’ beginnings are similar in that she had no control over her own mother’s death, and was made someone’s queen not out of love but for power. One major difference is that Dany had to love her chains as a means of survival, and eventually managed to adopt a different culture as her own. Cersei’s time in King’s Landing pushed her survival instincts towards navigating around subtle political enemies rather than the vicious killers of Essos.
Dany’s relationship with Khal Drogo was terrifying for her at first, as he was not the loving husband that she truly deserved. However, this dynamic changed as they began to understand one another’s culture, language, and desires. This could not be said of Cersei and Robert, as Robert truly wanted Lyanna long after her death. He would often publicly humiliate Cersei by placing his lust towards whores.
Even with the deaths of Joffrey, Tommen, and Myrcella, Cersei still had the chance to raise them as their mother. Which is more than Dany can say about her stillborn baby, and the deep seeded emotional pain that followed her since then. If the situation were completely different, these two women might have found common ground and understanding in being forcibly separated from their children.
Once these queens see the end of the series, their fates will reflect the choices they made, and how they treated everyone around them.
Love, Lust, Balance, and Conflict
The connections between all four characters is far deeper than the superficial aspects that can be seen on the surface. Each one of them has faced the worst the world has had to offer, and yet became stronger emotionally and politically. This power has been used to either lash out at enemies in horrifying ways, or to unify people towards a far greater threat.
For Jon and Dany, despite being separated across the world and being ignorant of Jon’s true heritage, they found one another and fell in love. Against all odds, the last Targaryens came together as the White Walkers destroyed the Wall. At the same time, Jaime finally left Cersei as she threatened to have him executed by the Mountain.
When Jaime turned his back on her, it was not only a result of her refusal to commit to a cause that was bigger than the throne but because of Cersei’s constant hold of power over him. The relationship was not balanced, but instead a source of conflict that proved dangerous towards Westeros itself. This runs contrary to the dynamic that Jon and Dany have towards one another, and will likely be seen in Season 8.
Tumblr media
I suppose that some will believe it unfair that Dany will be pregnant with a child, and the speculation that Cersei will suffer through a miscarriage. Jon will likely be known as a King, and it remains to be seen if Jaime will remain branded as a Kingslayer. To a certain degree, fairness is not something that is taken into consideration when it comes to the fate of characters within this series.
After all, Ned Stark was a wonderful father who did not deserve to be beheaded in King’s Landing, and Tywin Lannister remained powerful for a time despite being ruthless and cruel. Even with this consideration, one should see how the choices a character makes reflects the conclusion of their story.
During these conclusions will Jaime kill Cersei, and later die with her not long after? Will Jon give Dany the family she has always desired, and rule Westeros alongside her? No matter what the answers to these questions are, Jon and Dany’s fates have become tied together just as Cersei and Jaime’s were.
After everything is said and done, I believe their stories will reflect one another just as they had from the beginning.

Teen Spirit- Chapter Twelve :)
The Stark children were gathered in the living room, their parents still away. They were brain storming ideas on how to make Myrcella feel better; they even called Ygritte to join them.
Myrcella hadn’t been cold to them, she just hadn’t been herself. Everyone completely understood; after everything that had happened with Joffrey a few days ago, it was only naturally that she’d be upset.
She didn’t cry or shout, she was just quieter. There were times when Robb could see she wanted to laugh, like when Theon would make a dirty joke, but she would stop herself. It was as if she was scared, and Robb wanted to make her feel safe again.
“What about a party?” Bran asked.
“You know Cella, she doesn’t like all that attention.” Arya pointed out.
“Maybe a gift, to let her know we care.” Jon suggested.
“A gift sounds nice.” Sansa said, and that’s when a light bulb went off above Robb and Ygritte’s heads.
“Tommen!” They both yelled simultaneously.
“Who’s Tommen?” Rickon asked, the loud discussion waking him up from his nap.
Tommen was Myrcella’s little brother, and he was the perfect person to put a smile on Myrcella’s face. Robb knew she missed him terribly; they Skyped every Wednesday night, they would watch movies and eat ice cream during those calls but it wasn’t the same as being together.
“Tommen is Myrcella’s little brother.” Robb said and they all nodded in understanding.
“That’s a good idea. I know if I was sad I’d want my family.” Rickon said sleepily.
They all agreed that Tommen would be the perfect gift. So while Myrcella was out with her uncle, they called Tommen who within a few minutes was booking his train ticket for the next day.
……………
“We can go anywhere you like, I here this place around the corner does good seafood.” Tyrion offered.
“Sounds good.” Myrcella said with a smile, though her voice was meek.
“Or there’s a pizza place?”
“I like pizza.” She said.
Tyrion looked at his niece, ‘let me put you back together again,’ he thought.
They sat down at the pizza place, Tyrion ordering more food than they could possibly eat. He was worried about his niece, but he knew she would recover. Myrcella was strong, it was a quality she had inherited from her mother; people could try and tear her down, but a lioness would always rise again.
“I’m sorry.” She said quietly, just above a whisper.
Tyrion was brought out of his thoughts, “What on earth do you have to be sorry for?”
“For being like this. Everyone has been trying to cheer me up, you, Robb, Ygritte, Sansa…. I don’t mean to be a burden, I just….” She stopped and hesitated.
“Go on.” Tyrion encouraged.
“I don’t feel like me.” She confessed, “I feel like ever since I came here, I started to understand myself better, I could be myself.”
“And now?”
“Having Joffrey come back, doing what he always does, it just reminds me that I’m still his little play thing. No matter where I go, my past is still my past, I’m still…”
“A victim?” Tyrion offered sadly and she nodded in response.
“You know, when I was a child your mother hated me.” Tyrion said with a hint of mirth in his eyes.
“Pardon?” She asked, confused at the random direction the conversation had turned.
“Cersei and my father, they couldn’t look at me. They say now that I was being sensitive, but I knew what they thought. The woman he loved, the mother she adored, for the sake of me? That’s the biggest joke in the world.”
“Uncle Tyrion…” she wanted to argue but he wouldn’t let her.
“Being a dwarf didn’t help either I supposed, I was never going to be handsome like Jaime, I would never make marital connections like Cersei. I was a disappointment the moment I was born. Do you think I’m still a disappointment?” He asked.
“No! You’re the head of the family business and the best uncle a child could hope for! You could never be a disappointment.” She told him.
“And yet that’s what I was for the majority of my life. From a disappointment to a success.” He said with a smile on his face.
“You were a victim Myrcella, but now you are a survivor. Don’t hide from your past, wear it like armour.”
Myrcella began to understand what her uncle was saying, if she could survive Joffrey then she could survive anything. Why hide that?
“Thank you Uncle Tyrion.”
“It’s what I’m here for. Chocolate milkshake?” He asked.
“Chocolate milkshake.” She agreed happily, a genuine smile on her face.
…………….
Tyrion dropped Myrcella off at the Stark’s house after their meal. She had been staying there since the incident and Tyrion was glad, he didn’t like the idea of her going home to an empty flat.
“Hey! How was your day?” Robb asked but before she answered she wrapped her arms around his waist and rested her head on his chest.
He was quick to hug her back, “Everything okay?” He asked, concern laced in his words.
She looked up at him, “Everything’s great.” She said and shot him her beaming smile. It was infectious as it brought a smile to Robb’s face. ‘She’s back.” He thought.
They sat down to watch a film with their fellow Starks (including Ygritte and Theon, they were after all honorary Starks like Myrcella). They were in the middle of watching Pride when discussion turned to Myrcella’s hair.
She had gone to a hairdresser to have it cut properly, but she still didn’t feel right. She would see her friends with their long shiny hair and she’d be reminded of what her brother did to her own.
“What about extensions?” Sansa offered.
“The high end ones though! I hate the kind where you can see the glue.” Bran squirmed much to Jon’s amusement.
“I think you should shave half of it.” Ygritte said, “Get a tattoo there, it’ll be awesome.”
“I guess…” Myrcella said shyly.
As they discussed potential hairstyles, Arya could see Myrcella closing in on herself. She hated it, she remembered when Sansa had gotten a bruise on her left eye because of that bastard. She remembered watching her sister apply the concealer and wince at the pressure her finger would put on the bruise. No matter how many times it hurt her, she still put it on; she covered it up with make up so she could look as pretty as the other girls, so she could look ‘normal.’
It was only hair, it would grow back, but Arya knew that right now Myrcella didn’t feel ‘normal.’
“That’s it!” Arya yelled, threw her hands up in the air, and stormed out the room.
Everyone went silent, “What’s up with her?” Theon asked.
The next minute they heard the sound of a draw opening a closing, hard footsteps stomping up the stairs, and the bathroom door being slammed shut.
A few minutes past until they saw Arya again, she began to walk down the stairs and everyone turned and gasped when they saw her.
“Arya!” Sansa yelled.
Arya was stood with her hair cut above her shoulders, scissors in one hand, and the ponytail she had previously worn in the other.
“I like it.” Ygritte said.
“Me too.” Myrcella agreed with a wide smile.
“Our parents are going to kill you.” Bran said though he couldn’t hide his smile.
“They won’t notice.” She said nonchalantly.
“But you don’t look normal Ari!” Rickon said.
“It’s the new normal Rickon.” Arya said and plopped down in the seat next to Myrcella.
They continued to watch the movie, Myrcella feeling  more comfortable than she had before.
…………….
“Why are we awake at this ungodly hour.” Myrcella mumbled into her pillow (Yes her pillow, she’d be damned if she let Robb take it from her).
“I told you, we’re having a big family breakfast, Sansa is cooking and Bran is going to try and make something.” Robb said.
“But it’s 7:30 in the morning.”
“I promise you’re gonna love it.” He said kissing her shoulders.
“Yeah yeah.” She mumbled as she made her way to the bathroom.
She was in the shower when Bran knocked on the door.
“All systems are go.” Bran whisked, his eyes looking around making sure no one could hear of their plan.
“This isn’t Mission Impossible Bran.” Robb chuckled.
“Come on Robb… just go along with it, okay?” Bran whined, and Robb gave in.”
“Fine, everything ready?”
“The cuckoo is in the birds nests.” Bran whispered.
“I don’t even no what that means, I’m assuming everything is ready.” Robb sighed.
“Affirmative.” Bran nodded and made his way downstairs.
Robb and Myrcella made their way downstairs and joined the rest of the Starks at the dinner table.
“I thought you said there would be breakfast?” Myrcella asked confused.
“It’s on its way.” Robb assured.
They began talking when their waiter made his entrance.
“Eggs royale For Miss Baratheon.” They heard.
Myrcella turned in her chair to see the same green eyes looking back at her.
“Tommen!!!” She jumped up, knocking the plate of eggs out of his hands, much to Greywind’s delight.
“It’s good to see you too sis.” He said hugging her back.
It was a heartwarming scene, Myrcella with a brother that truly cared for her. Between, the Starks, Tyrion, and Tommen, Robb knew she would be okay.
They went for a walk, just the two Baratheon’s, intent on catching up on what they’d missed.
“You’ve gotten taller.” She said, noting how he was a head taller than her now.
“Haha yeah, not sure you can call me ‘little’ brother anymore.” He chuckled.
“You’ll always be my little brother Tom.” She said.
They walked on in silence for a little while but something was on Tommen’s mind.
“I’m sorry Cella.” He said.
“What for?”
“I’m not a kid anymore, I should have protected you from him. I should have come to the North, I should have tried more, I should have….”
“You should have thrown on a cape and called yourself superman?” She joked.
“I’m serious Cella.”
“You can’t reason with the irrational Tom. Joffrey is unpredictable, always has been. You couldn’t have stopped him.”
Tommen listened but he didn’t look convinced.
“I’m fine. Look at me, I have a good life here, I’m happy.”
“I’m guessing a certain Stark has something to do with that.” Tommen said with a smirk.
“He’s wonderful.” She said wistfully.
“I can see that. Any guy that can make my sister smile like that is okay by me.” Tommen said, assuring her that Robb had his approval.
“So… is Sansa single?” He asked and Myrcella shoved him playfully, both erupting in laughter.
……………
“Tommen should come visit more, he’s a good guy.” Robb said.
“He thinks the same about you.” She said, happy that the men in her life got along.
“Robb?” She said.
“Yeah?”
“I love you so much.” She said, her cheeks turning a dark shade of red. “Everything you’ve done for me… I can’t begin to thank you…”
Robb walked up to her and cupped her face in his hands,  “You don’t have to thank me Myrcella, it’s just what you do for the people you love.”
He kissed her deeply, letting their happiness wash over them.

You know, given the opening of Tyrion’s chapter, I can see why people would want to like him. He starts off by slapping the spoiled and bratty prince. So far, he’s the only likable one out of the whole Southern group.
Also, Tommen is a little angel who deserves far better than the family he was born into. Yes, I’m biased to those who aren’t assholes to Starks, what of it? Also, Myrcella is also an angel. Did Cersei have nothing to do with raising them? Was she too busy spoiling and pampering her eldest?
“Oh, yes,” Tyrion admitted. “I hope the boy does wake. I would be most interested to hear what he might have to say.”
His brother’s smile curdled like sour milk. “Tyrion, my sweet brother,” he said darkly, “there are times when you give me cause to wonder whose side you are on.”
Tyrion’s mouth was full of bread and fish. He took a swallow of strong black beer to wash it all down, and grinned up wolfishly at Jaime. “Why, Jaime, my sweet brother,” he said, “you wound me. You know how much I love my family.”
Given how he noticed the way Jaime and Cersei were acting, it’s obvious Tyrion knows they had something to do with Bran’s fall. Of course, Tyrion is loyal to his family, regardless of how his father and sister regard him.
Chapter 10: Jon II
Catelyn is very brittle and nasty in her grief. Though, I do like how we get a glimpse of her guilt. It’s hard to forgive her for this scene, but as a mother, I can understand how grief and guilt in that situation, and faced with the boy you’ve seen as a threat to your children, might cause you to act like that.
Okay, it says a lot about Jon that he would lie and tell Robb that his mother had been very kind. It also makes me side-eye Robb that he so easily bought it. I still want to know, do they normally go around calling each other by their surnames, or is this a special occasion thing?
“Different roads sometimes lead to the same castle. Who knows?”
Fuck you, this hurts. I wonder what it means that the only people we didn’t see a goodbye scene with from his POV were Sansa and Ned.
Okay, these goodbyes hurt.
Chapter 11: Daenerys II
Okay, a billion people have probably noticed this, but Daenerys’ dream:
Yet that night she dreamt of one. Viserys was hitting her, hurting her. She was naked, clumsy with fear. She ran from him, but her body seemed thick and ungainly. He struck her again. She stumbled and fell. “You woke the dragon,” he screamed as he kicked her. “You woke the dragon, you woke the dragon.” Her thighs were slick with blood. She closed her eyes and whimpered. As if in answer, there was a hideous ripping sound and the crackling of some great fire. When she looked again, Viserys was gone, great columns of flame rose all around, and in the midst of them was the dragon. It turned its great head slowly. When its molten eyes found hers, she woke, shaking and covered with a fine sheen of sweat. She had never been so afraid …
This, in a way, mirrors the way she ends up becoming the Mother of Dragons. And, given how afraid she is of her brother and how seems to be taking on some of his worst traits in later books, it could be that she’s afraid of what she’ll become. Of course, that could just be all coincidence.
This whole wedding just hurts. It’s beyond brutal, and poor Dany is left up there all alone. Though, I do like that, for a moment during the wedding, while she was on the horse, she was happy and felt… free, maybe? Of course, her brother had to fucking ruin it.
Um, is anyone else questioning why he seems to know the word “no” so well? It doesn’t say anything good to me. Though, the way the scene went, it could easily be interpreted that he was… checking in with her or something of that nature, making sure she knew she had a say. Now, I won’t find out until I read further, but I seem to remember that he doesn’t give her a choice later one. So… it gets very confusing that he’s all gentle and sweet this first time, but then it turns brutal and nasty later on. I’ll comment when and if that happens.
Chapter 12: Eddard II
Okay, am I the only one shocked that Robert wakes before noon? Okay, so Ned didn’t exile Jorah, Jorah fucking ran. Ned doesn’t like slavers, spies, and Lannisters. Though, given what we hear about Tywin presenting the bodies of Rhaegar’s wife and children to Robert, I think we can all understand.
Now that we’ve read Ned’s version of the aftermath of the sacking of King’s Landing, I’m ready to hear Jaime’s. I think that, of all the Lannisters, Jaime is the one he least has to worry about when it comes to wanting power.
Chapter 13: Tyrion II
I wonder if others find Ghost’s silence unsettling, or if it’s just Tyrion. I’m sure if they do, we’ll find out about it.
No doubt the boy had made the mistake of thinking that the Night’s Watch was made up of men like his uncle. If so, Yoren and his companions were a rude awakening. Tyrion felt sorry for the boy. He had chosen a hard life … or perhaps he should say that a hard life had been chosen for him.
You know, we hear a lot from certain fans how Sansa is so naive and doesn’t understand the world, but this right here shows that she’s not the only one. For all that Jon has been raised as a bastard, he’s had a privileged and sheltered life. All of the Stark children have, and that’s part of what leads to their early downfall, IMO. I lay the blame for this on Ned and Catelyn. They raised their children in a time of peace as if war and reality would never intrude. This whole series is about reality making itself painfully known to the Starks and not all of them survive it.
I know it’s Tyrion’s chapter, but I seem to be focusing a lot on the Starks. Though, honestly, does Tyrion not get why the Starks can’t stand his family? Does he not know what people think of them?
Reading the description of dragon bones and… I don’t remember the ones on the show being black. I know, I shouldn’t expect them to get every detail right, but still! I’m assuming that, since Dany’s dragons got so big, they were not from the lines that her family bred to minuscule size and then extinction.
It was the only time that Vhaghar, Meraxes, and Balerion were all unleashed at once. The singers called it the Field of Fire.
Near four thousand men had burned that day, among them King Mern of the Reach. King Loren had escaped, and lived long enough to surrender, pledge his fealty to the Targaryens, and beget a son, for which Tyrion was duly grateful.
I wonder how many Drogon killed on the show and if we’ll get a scene much like that in the book.
My sister married the new king and my repulsive nephew will be king after him.
Nobody likes Joffrey except his mother. And maybe Jaimie, though I don’t know if we really find out. We do find out that Tyrion really doesn’t like his sister or his father (for good reason). He assumes that Jon feels the same way. IIRC, Jon uses this kind of assumption about him to his advantage with Mance. We’ll see how good my memory is.
I like how they had Ghost come out of nowhere to attack Tyrion when Jon was feeling angry. And, let’s be honest, Tyrion was poking at Jon, trying to get a rise out of him, and Jon did react to it. I think that Jon making Tyrion ask politely for help was more of him poking back then straight up humiliating Tyrion. Of course, that could be wrong, but since we don’t have Jon’s POV in this, I can only assume.
I do like how we are shown that Jon is quick to adapt to changes in his reality.
