I just watched the new Wonka movie where Wonka is played my Timothée Chalamet who also played Elio in call me by your name. Fuck me dude im such a simp for this man. You cannot expect me to sit and watch him look into the camra, and say in a smooth, deep voice "if you want her so sigh..." Glance down, and continue with "show a little thigh~" and be ok after. I almost fell in the hallway leaving the theater bc my legs were weak and i was light headed STILL even though it had been like an hour later. At about 5:30 this evening I discovered a new-to-me song that had a really comfortable tune that was incredibly easy to wrap my brain around and lyrics that made me feel some stuff. It made a nest in my internal monologue and I popped it on some playlists and emailed it to my mom. Who responded with the note that the tune was familiar. She even knew the artist whose song it reminded her of, though the lyrics and theme were different. i also am familiar with this artist, but couldn't think of the song she meant. Until I started humming the new song at around 8:15 and a different set of lyrics came into my head. Oh. Well, that solved that mystery.

Soooooo LUCIUS IS DEAD BUT IT'S NOT CONFIRMEDDD

So as this article stated we did not see a corpse and as a post I saw a while ago said "this show meshes different kinds of comedy" "Stede's crew is different from Blackbeard's because they don't get hurt seriously, they rely on a more cartoonish style where injuries aren't a real threat"

So following that line of thought until we don't see a body we don't believe nobody.

Also we already know this show has been constantly following the "timeline or realistic traits shouldn't interfere with the story" thing (see: the teeth falling out that weren't mentioned after the designed ep, Lucius' finger just healing at some point and then being cut off, Blackbeard's beard growing in the span of half a day, crew cutting fingers with scissors...)

As you can see in this gif there's some kind of comedy in the action of throwing the man overboard (shoe flying) that has an undertone of cartoonish therefore there might be that Lucius is experiencing what I call a 'coyote fall'

He's probably alive by a thread also because no one noticed him disappearing the night before and we know that Lucius sleeps with his bf

And we know that he'd be devastated enough to cause/be drama so I don't think he can be dead thanks for coming to my ted talk

So, so many queer people, I've noticed, can put themselves in precarious situations wherein they feel accepted by people and the queer person would do anything for those who accept them, even if it is harmful to them, even if it is scary. It feels like you are indebted to those who accept you because you know that isn't the case for every person you meet. To so many queer people, they are afraid to upset others who accept them (or "accept" them) because they are so scared of rejection. This is completely human and completely normal. But that doesn't mean you deserve to be taken advantage of. You deserve to be treated as an equal because you inherently are an equal - to everybody.

Please know that the people who truly, truly respect and care for you will understand when you can't do everything. They will still respect you, because you are a human being. Saying "no" is neutral at worst. You deserve to honour yourself, too.

a last minute little doodle for Day One of @tolkienocweek for the prompt "Family Members".

I'm both a Curufin and a Celebrimbor stan, and I also have a magnetic attachment to forgotten mothers & wives in both fiction and history, so it's really no surprise that I have been Thinking lately about what Celebrimbor's mother must have been like! Celebrimbor turned out so well despite the uh, you know, *gestures vaguely at the entire Silmarillion* -- so I have to put that down to both Curufin and his wife's parenting. I feel like they must have had a really good relationship and must have been super good parents. I imagine her to be pretty level headed and grounded -- sweet but firm. Celebrimbor gets his hair from his mom & from Míriel. I know this isn't really the traditional fanon interpretation of him, but I love the idea that he doesn't really look much like Fëanor at all and there may have been a bit of compensation in the patronym curufinwë (it just makes his choice to go by Telperinquar that much jucier imo...)

I'm not completely set on his mother's name yet, but I've been fiddling around with Telperindil (silver lily) -- to go along with Telperinquar. I'm certainly no expert on naming characters in Quenya though so I'm not sure I've gotten that right!

In any case, I love her, I would die for her. She's awesome. I'm pretty certain she chose to stay behind instead of exile, and was there to greet Celebrimbor the second he was re-embodied from the halls.
