I'm honestly just gonna come out and say it, and I don't mean to dismiss anyone who disagrees with me (with some exceptions, but I know those people don't follow me, even have me blocked).
But I've despised and been deeply disappointed with the Revolver event in Duel Links. So deeply that I doubt I will ever pick up the app again.
Keeping rant under read-more.
While there were things that I genuinely enjoyed, like the music during Rev's duels, hearing Shunsuke-san again, Rev's beautiful sprite and receive a lot of goodies (like gorgeous sleeves and icons ♥), there were a lot of things I actively disliked, and those were too many to save this event and make it the funny experience I'd hoped for ever since VRAINS world was released (even announced, let's be real).
The writing felt off from the start, with a lot of things that were strange, especially since the story of VRAINS world has been marketed as a follow-up of the anime, a s4 we never got (or just second half of s3). A follow-up for me meant Revolver would take off where he ended: guarding the network and make sure everyone stayed safe, actively stopping something like the Lost Incident to ever happen again.
Seems like the writers, as well as the localisation team, had forgotten all that and instead went with Revolver's s1 persona, once again making him the antagonist that needed to be defeated to protect the Ignis (or well, just Ai). Not only that, they also took away any kind of character development Revolver went through during the last half of the anime. Something that was only made worse by the localisation team, who amongst many things made the deliberate choice of changing lots of Playmaker's dialogues about saving Revolver to be about Ai instead, as well as changing LOTS of Revolver's dialogues over all.
Another example of a thing that deeply pissed me off and completely crushed me with disappointment was the reference to the rain duel between Revolver and Soulburner. The writers wrote it as it never happened, while also simultaneously saying it did, in fact, happen, as they told the two variations paralleled with each other. Then they had it ended with what seems to be the shitty dub-dialogue (let's stop pretending it ever was a dub, it was nothing but a parody) and no conclusion for either of the characters. And I'm sorry, but what in the actual hell?!
They've created nothing but plot holes that won't be easy to fill in the future, telling a story that is such a disservice to Revolver's character while also not portraying him properly, not even in the original Japanese versions (I've seen so many Japanese and Korean fans being confused about this event as well, some even going as far as outright saying "I'm glad I still like him despite this"). The fact that there are people out there judging Revolver's character and actions based on this event is disgusting, and once again makes me say that you're all free to hate him as much as you want but this isn't even Revolver, you're hating a version of him that didn't exist in later canon. Calling it post-canon is an insult.
Even worse, all the other characters have felt like post-canon versions, with at the very least decent writing, yet it still making some sort of sense.
I saw nothing of that here, and I'll be forever salty about them messing it up so badly. You can use his second avatar as much as you want; if you deliberately keep him stuck in the season 1 mindset and actively ignores that s2 and s3 (except the last duel between Ai and Playmaker, as well as bits and pieces of the last duel between Revolver and Soulburner) happened, you're not giving Revolver a post-canon story. You're making up an antagonist to fit your purposes and only uses Revolver's face for it. And that's such a disservice to his character and I'll never forgive the team who worked on this event (except Shunsuke-san and the music composer, they did an amazing job ♥).
I still finished the event completely as well as maxed Rev's level (something I haven't done since DM and maxed up Yuugi), only because I love him. But the sadness I feel about all this can't be ignored.
Again, I doubt I'll ever pick up Duel Links again after this, and I said as much in the survey afterwards. I usually try to keep a somewhat friendly tone when filling in surveys after events, but this?
Ohohoho, they got to hear how badly they messed up. And I was not nice. Because they didn't deserve it.
I'm done. I hate it. Get the fuck away from me. I was afraid this would happen.
I'm sticking to the merchandise in the future. At least they know what the fans want/never thought they want but definitely wanted and appreciated. TCG bros can keep their rotten excuse of an app.
Also, as much as I love Borreload Datastorm Furious Dragon, you can't fucking label it SR when I got 10 copies of it, and wasn't alone in doing so. I've gathered less of NORMAL cards that I did with Borreload. Morons...
Oh, and I might as well mention how much it actually irked me to constantly put up with not only Varis but also Roken Kogami when those aren't the names that should be used. Again, it's not a fucking dub, it's a joke for people who the creators deem stupid. Burn it to the ground for all I care and never talk about it again.

Why all the crowd scenes look the same, aka: Something is WRONG in Soho
I'm not even gonna tease and draw this out because it's so cool it doesn't need the fanfare. Ready?
Season 2 takes place over the course of 5 days. During that time, most of the passersby in Soho - maybe even all of them - stay exactly the same. It's the same people every day, wearing the exact same clothes, and they wander through the neighbourhood in paths that don't make any sense. You won't be able to unsee it. I can't believe it's taken us this long to realise.
Don't believe me? Rewatch the scene from 2x03, I Know Where I'm Going where Shax confronts Crowley outside the bookshop, appearing in a series of different guises. Pay attention to the people going past.
I've marked out five people you see on screen when Crowley first exits the bookshop at 39:37:

Numbers 1, 2 and 3 are following the path right. Number 4 follows the path left. Number 5 crosses the road.
Here the five people are again, at 40:19, when Crowley goes to return to the bookshop:

Number 5 is still visible in the distance, in the direction she walked in. This makes sense! But numbers 1, 2, 3 and 4 are rounding the same corner they just passed. It's as though 1, 2 and 3 all decided to turn and head back the way they came just 40 seconds ago, and number 4 has circled the block to join them.
This on its own would be super weird, but they're not the only people to do that in this scene. The man in the purple sweater from the first picture crosses the road, then appears back next to the bookshop, then starts walking back the way he came again.

Here's the part that made me absolutely certain, though. At 40:05, a man wearing an orange hoodie with blue sleeves walks past Crowley, who is heading towards the bookshop entrance.

The camera cuts to a view from behind Crowley, and a moment later, at 40:08...

He reappears in front of Crowley and walks past him again.
It's such a distinctive outfit, there's no mistaking it. They are absolutely fucking with the background characters and they are absolutely doing it on purpose.
Your turn. There are at least three other characters in this scene who pass by multiple times. Watch it again and try to spot them.
This scene is really chaotic and obvious, but the phenomena I'm talking about is much bigger than just one scene. Let's go back to the first thing I said: the background characters don't change. All our leads do. Maggie and Nina wear distinctive outfits, clearly demarcating each new day. Even Crowley and Aziraphale, who in season 1 were like cartoon characters with wardrobes full of identical clothing, vary their looks. Crowley changes his (very subtly) each day; Aziraphale is less rigid on timing, but he has a few different coats that he switches between. The background characters, on the other hand, wear the same outfits every single day. They walk by on the street but they never actually seem to have a destination. They sit in the coffee shop or pub and don't eat or drink anything, and nearly everyone leaves together exactly on closing time. It's eerie.
For reference's sake, here's a rough timeline of season 2, with pictures of Maggie and Nina's outfits to show the passing of time. I had to outsource this section because my post was too image heavy, lol. The main point I wanted to make is that five days go by.
Five days, and all the same faces keep showing up in the background, and almost none of them change their clothes. I'm not entirely sure what it means, but there's no way it's an accident. It might, in fact, be a game changer. To me this is proof positive that something is not as it seems. I've been a massive Clue skeptic, adamant that I'd only be convinced by the most unambiguous evidence, and honestly? This is enough to move the dials. It's too big for me to ignore. Whatever grand explanation of Good Omens we come up with has to account for this. I don't have it yet, but my current working theories are that Crowley and Aziraphale are under some seriously heavy surveillance, that time warping is involved, or that reality itself is not what it seems.
It would take a really long time for me to go through all of the background characters who turn up over and over but I do want to show you what I'm talking about. To wrap up, then, I'm going to pick out some memorable characters and walk you through a few of their appearances through the week. I highly recommend looking out for this yourself on your next rewatch and seeing how many other characters you can recognise.
Yellow Skirt
The first person I kept coming back to as being not quite right. You probably remember her from the first episode - she's the one who waves and walks past Maggie and Nina the night they're locked in together. Incidentally, she's also Person Number 3 in the scene with Shax.

Coolest Leather Jacket In The World
It's not so easy to recognise people wearing lots of nondescript dark colours, but I love his hair and his jacket, so he stood out to me. I think there might be a lot more people who are wearing fairly nondescript clothes who I just can't recognise from episode to episode.

Dressed In Mustard
Ms Mustard shows up everywhere. If you want to see what I mean about their paths not making sense, pay attention when she comes on screen, because she'll often show up a few times in succession and walk very purposefully to nowhere in particular. The thing that she is doing, essentially, is behaving like an extra in a tv show. Which of course she is, but you're supposed to make that invisible by not having the same person go back and forth in the same scene, or changing up their outfit each in-universe day to give the sense time is passing. Not doing that is a really deliberate choice.

Swishy Dress
This character shows up a lot in the first episode. I've struggled to find her in later episodes, though. None of the characters seem to follow the same patterns or show up to equal extents each day, which makes me think this isn't a straightforward time loop. I haven't actually cross referenced character appearances to in world times, though. Possibly this is a project for someone who's more across the time-related shenanigans than me.

I've only seen this guy a handful of times, always around the French restaurant. I wonder if there's significance to that.

Fuzzy Blue Coat
Another background character who shows up frequently. The blue doesn't stand out quite as much as the yellows and reds some characters wear, but it's very distinctive.
While we're getting a lot of shots of the street, it's worth noting that I'm pretty sure the vehicles we see are also just the same few cars repeating each day. A lot of them are in neutral silvers and monochrome, but there's a couple of blue cars, one red, and one black and white that I'm fairly sure I've seen over and over through the season.

One final note: Whatever this is, Nina's employee who you see in the background at the coffeeshop sometimes isn't affected by it. He's wearing different outfits each day. On the other hand, some of the other shopkeepers do seem affected. I'm fairly sure Mr Brown and Mrs Sandwich wear the same outfits a few different days, only changing because of Aziraphale at the ball.

Hey I don't mind anyone pointing out production reasons that this might be the case or disagreeing with my analysis (over-analysis, some might say 😉). Please be kind about it, though. I'm not ignorant of the practical limitations involved in film making, but some of these costumes were really distinctive in a way I thought might be intended to draw attention.
For those of you who do find this theory convincing, I feel I should mention that I was working under the assumption that this stuff would have taken a few days to film, even filming it all together. That would strongly suggest that the actors were deliberately costumed the exact same way over multiple days of shooting, which made me think it had to be purposeful. @coranax was kind enough to point out, though, that behind the scenes videos said the extras were filmed separately to the main actors because of Covid protocols. In that case, they could have done it in just one day and that weakens my confidence in its intentionality.
Finally, all of my points about the scene with Shax in 2x03 stand. That was not a case of accidental continuity errors, it was really elegantly choreographed to enhance the tension in the scene. I say that with confidence because the extras are doing exactly what Shax is doing: circling Crowley, appearing where he doesn't expect them, creating a whirlwind sense of being off balance and out of control. I think it's really cool and effective, whether there's a deeper meaning to it or not.

I finished the first season of Veronica Mars! And decided to stop after a couple of episodes of season 2. Idk, I guess I got tired of the lack of closure for many plot lines. The finale was interesting tho, I loved the final villain.

Hi bestie I'm sorry it's taken me so long to talk to you about this show! I'm gonna make up for taking forever by writing like, an essay haha brace yourself
I think that Veronica Mars is a good show that runs into some classic 2000s tv stumbling blocks, manages to do some things that infuriate me personally beyond reason, but ALSO manages to have some elements that are so powerful and so well executed that I'm honestly astonished it got made. These kinda peter out and become muddled over the years, but oh well, we'll always have season one <3
In brief, the 2000s messiness, in varying degrees of offensiveness to the world and to me personally:
The aforementioned plot lines that go nowhere <3
It's case-of-the-week, some cases are gonna suck! What can you do lol
The black best friend who doesn't ever really get any satisfying arcs or attention given to him as a character who contributes beyond letting our protagonist have dialogue with him rather than exclusively monologuing in voiceover
How they handle race in general ofc. Like while I think that in the actual plots of the show there are good intentions (and sometimes good material!) in depicting the racism of this insular hiarchical society, racism in the real world affects the writing by giving the characters of color very little to do, and over all they are taken less seriously by the narrative.
Veronica's rape plot line. I actually think this plot started out very strong! But the minute the show focuses directly on it the writing gets lost in the weeds of plot twists and rival love interests, and I really think the points they were originally trying to make get buried.
Deadbeat Mom ran off she's got a single dad raising her (i feel like the number of single dads in media is exponentially larger than the real number of single dads in life. it's propaganda. and its misogynistic. but I digress)
The stuff I personally hate:
The romances :) lol. lmao, even. (I would love to rant about this but I really think that's not something that deserves to be on what is currently a measured review of the show as a whole)
The stuff that's great:
The noir homage: It's just. It's so good. It's so fucking good. This is to noir detective stories what american vandal will be to true crime 20 years later. I want to give whoever first thought "hey, being an ostracized teen girl is kinda like being a hardboiled noir detective," a raise and a kiss MWAH <3 A+ for tone! Veronica lives on the edges of her society (high school), allowing her to see all of it's pieces and hypocrisy, turning her cynical and aloof. And she's a teenager who solves crimes :D She's funny and self aware of her role, but never in such a way that it feels like lampshading or winking at the audience. They take it seriously--they take HER seriously, and that makes the show work.
Lilly: The central case of the show, the murder of Veronica's best friend and Veronica's revenge-driven mission to find her killer, is where the first season gets its power. Veronica gets to have the noir detective plot line of being haunted by the death of a woman she loved and driven by revenge, and it is so much more powerful here than I've ever seen it in its original form. Lilly is a tragedy, she is an unflinching look at the sexual exploitation of teenage girls and the casualness with which violent men will turn that violence on them, she is a messy bratty bitch of a sixteen year old, and Veronica loves her. Lilly gets to be complicated because Veronica, who knew her and loves her, is telling us her story. There are a lot of people who are affected by Lilly's death, but this show is about Veronica, and her reaction to the murder of her friend is what matters to the writers and the viewers. Once again, the show takes Veronica (and her grief and her rage and her love) seriously, and there is a lot of power in that. I think the reason the later seasons struggle is because they simply can't stand up to the emotional intensity that made up the core of season one.

Also to reply to the other ask I sent you, I feel like NCTzens are either amazing to writers or so toxic. Like I once did an MTL that was an ask and it was who would like a thicc s/o and I put Taeyong like in the middle, and I got so much hate, someone spammed my inbox with like 40 messages saying Taeyong would never want a fatty, and they made like 10 fake accounts to comment on all of my NCT mtls to share their opinion, and I just had to delete most of my NCT MTLs and block like 20 accounts. They were so mad that I said Taeyong would probably want a an s/o that eats well, they felt the need to attack me so badly, I quit writing MTLS for NCT after that. Then I would have people in my asks complaining about me not doing them anymore, and it's just like I wonder why; you ask my opinion and then when I say Johnny would love a girl with a fat ass you attack me since it's not want you wanted me to say. I've been in a lot of fandoms, and I'm lucky most I've been don't go out of their way to attack you for a varying opinion or disliking something, but NCTzens it's just like where do you get the audacity.
I feel like they would probably think I'm some weird and be all ew p*d0 or something, but I'm just such a mom friend it's just like if you are younger than I and we are interacting, I now view you as my child nothing else; but it's just easier to avoid talking to them, since people always immediately assume the worst, which I don't blame them since there are so many weirdos on here. tbh it is, like I see no age anywhere or like even an age range, like just put 18+ or 21+, just let me know you are legal, otherwise I run the other way and hit that block button with such speed, it could rival Usain Bolt; since I just immediately assume minor that doesn't want you to know they are a minor. The same is for people who write smut about minors, when they themselves are not, even if they didn't know the age of the idol. Like I saw someone the other day that wrote Niki smut and someone messaged them saying 'he's a minor', they full on said "omg I had no idea, he looks like he's 20" and like this is why we can't have nice things, at least they deleted their stuff, but still immediate block.
the czennie fandom part: YES. i feel like czennies on here just overdo everything like calm tf down and if you dont like certain type of content just..dont read it? its honestly so sad bc they used to be my ults but i also had such bad experiences in that fandom it's heartbreaking. ive been so much more cautious and careful with what i post ever since and i feel like a lot of fellow former nct writers feel that way. its just so difficult to deal with it all bc you do it as a hobby and to kinda escape the real world and boom, hate and negativity everwhere. i'd never go back to writing for nct for that sole reason only. im so sorry you had to go through that baby, i know exactly how disheartening and demotivating that can be 💔
about the whole age thing: FULLHEARTEADLY AGREED. i think with a fandom this young its super difficult to find a good balance but im honestly glad most of us older engenes think that way and so far most younger ones have been super respectful (tho i did have to block a few minors bc they interacted with my nsfw content) i still feel a lot more comfortable than i did in other fandoms. the thing is, atp if a 05/06 liner happens to write smut about an idol the same age i just close both eyes and block them bc who am i to tell them what to do yk? yet not knowing an idols age you write for is kinda ???? nah, dont fw but deffo get your other points. also i lit felt the mom friend part so hard bc same (more like older sister friend) but im genuinely afraid creeping out younger engenes bc i dont wanna seem like im being a weirdo 😭

do u have any tips for digital painting for people who like.... exclusively have experience in only lineart and simple cell shading ? i rly want my art to look like that but it always turns out horrible when i try to paint. i simply don't know how to blend colors i guess
this is going to be kinda long since im not very good at explaining things so i'll just run through my drawing process when im working on a digital painting!
first things first tho, im still learning to get the hang of it myself since im also super used to working with lineart/cell-shading rather than painting. so as time goes on my process will probably change as i learn new things!
first, i start out with a sketch of what i'm gonna be painting. i'll use one of my ocs as an example

when im working with lineart, i usually put the lineart layer over the sketch but when i'm painting, i tend to put the layers i'll be working on underneath the sketch! i do this cuz since i wont really be doing much defined linework, and it makes it a lot easier for me to do the next step which is:
blocking out shapes!
under my sketch layer, i'll block in shapes of color corresponding to my sketch, this works as a guidemap for me and usually each block of color gets a seperate layer to avoid getting frustrated while trying to work on areas where they intersect. (for example, the face, the bangs, and the back of the head are all separate layers to make it easier to avoid blending things i dont want to blend, like the face with the hair)

now here i start to work on each of the separate layers ive made, and i work on blocking in shadows. i usually clip layers together to avoid overlapping any unwanted things

at this point my process isnt super straightforward and i honestly havent exactly figured out what i do here definitively but i usually start working smaller and more focused on specific layers and work my way through the painting usually with one or two brushes. mainly, i use these two brushes, one for blending and making strokes, the other for VERY small details (i use clip studio paint so depending on what program you use and what you want out of your painting, your brushes may vary)

at this point im SUPER unsure on how i actually do what i do but i DEFO recommend studying other peep's art and using references to get things like hair and clothing textures. you'd be surprised on how some super complex-looking pieces tend to use less blending then you would think!
a tip when it comes to blending: i know it's super tempting to blend everything but from messing around with this style for a bit i can say that sometimes less is more! while blending is fun, it can sometimes lead to the colors or certain parts of the piece feel 'overblended' in which it might lose it's defined shape. although this is something that you'll learn to work through as you learn new ways to approach it!
now here is my final stage in where i might spruce things up a bit using layers to alter the colors and make things look a bit more unified and cohesive! honestly my fav step since i try out different layers that might bring out certain characteristics in my art!

also before i end this i wanna say that this is only the process i use and that you might use a completely different approach to it but if you find anything here that might be helpful, don’t be afraid to try it out and experiment!

Random and dark headcanons about Shuu Sakamaki
If you are not comfortable with those themes please just scroll, I don't want to make anyone uneasy, it's for fiction and fantasies only, Shuu is in NO WAY meant to be portrayed in real life, he is not a good person and none of his actions are acceptable.
In which you're a bride living in the Sakamaki manor :
- His voice is really low, much lower and raspier than his voice in the anime, it just makes more sense to me because he's always sleepy and horny, sadly he's the one who speaks the less (like, sir, just keep your mouth open and never shut up 👄🔪)
- He's just so disgusted everytime Reiji come near him that he's always scrunching his nose for a split second and then furrows his brows as if he smelled something bad but it's just Reiji (🤣🤣) and four eyes get even more mad.
- If your staring at him for too long he will stare back at you and look at you up and down. Now, there's two type of look, there is the "gtfo of my face, you're burning my eyes" (which is kinda hot in its own way 👉👈) and the "I'm horny as hell, keep staring at me I will mount you, female." And I don't know how, but he notice everything, you can try and  be unnoticeable by looking at him and then looking away but when your looking back at him again, he's staring right at your soul like 👁-👁 (sir pls stop you're scaring me)
- He have bedroom eyes like, 90 % of the times, Shuu always seems to be in his own reality with his closed eyes and earphones, he somehow look zooted (on sleep and sex uhu, anyways letmeshutup)
- He's the king of side-eye, if you bother his slumber he will give you the saltiest, hottest, coldest side-eye, it'll make you tear up. My theory is that he can make people crumble with just a look. (and that's on 💫trauma💫)
- Now that we're on the subject of tears, Shuu loves them (you monster) and try a lot of things mainly out of boredom and just to randomly see you cry because why not. And him being a teaser + dacryphilia is the worst thing you can ask for. Because when the oldest lay his interest on someone, I think that the rest of the brothers kinda back off to  not make him angry (they're not suicidal gud gud) so you're just getting bullied by him and everyone is just watching.
- For example when you walk past him, he'll pinch your thighs and it always hurts so bad and leaves red/purple spots or just grab your wrist and hold it really hard till you cry and beg him to not break it. And sometimes he'll just plainly ignore you which can be worst because it's always leaving you with the impression that something's gonna fall upon you when you least expect it. (Not mister playing as the Fates) And if you try to avoid him, he's going to catch up on it pretty fast and suddenly you're seeing him everywhere and he's not going to limit his torture to the manor, even in school he will find ways to terrorize you. He will say the lewdest, dirtiest things to you like its nothing or will just sneak up on you and touch your butt in the hall. (You need to keep an eye on him like the bogeyman). It's just a game for him, he's bored and you're the perfect prey to toy with.
- Yeah also he doesn't care about consent... just like the rest of his demonic gremlins of brothers, resisting him just makes it more fun for him. But if you are actually getting aggressive like pulling his hair, slapping him or scratching his skin he'll put out his knife (he gon look at you like dis 🔵👄🔵🔪) and will threatens to kill you really slowly. A thing about his knife, is that admin once said that he's carrying it everywhere, so he can just pull it out of idk where and rub it on your skin, threatening silently to slit your throat at any moment. There is always that one kid who like to draw on people's arms with a marker in school, Shuu does the same with his knife, you have little cuts here and there because of him.
- He's manipulative and merciless, you can pour your heart out to him and tell him how something just broke you and he's gonna look at you like "and what does it got to do with me?" or just fall asleep on you. He picks a lot on your insecurities just because he knows where it hurts (he doesn't really think it, he don't care lol) and will talk to you with such a mocking/condescending tone, as if your stupid and its not like you can complain about it.
- Shuu appears at the most random times and just ask you to do things that HE'S supposed to do. And you can either do your thing and he won't care or be bothered that you disobeyed and will punish you. Admin mentioned it often, how one of the scariest thing with Shuu is the unlimited feeling of uncertainty, you really never know. One day he's cool with you and the other he's not.
- Remember when Shuu talked about seduction ? He said that its the difference between him and Laito. Laito thrives off people's fear and disgust of him and he will force himself upon them, and with Laito, you're mainly scared of him. But with Shuu, there is something quite exciting about him being around you and just giving you his attention. (Idk how to explain it, it's the Shuu Effect 🦋) Sometimes you can even feel like you have a choice, when you really don't. He's guilt-tripping you a lot of the time and you don't realize it sometimes and think that it's your decision, but honey...
- When he starts to get use to you, use to you taking care of him and use to your presence that's when the trickiest part comes up. He can either, get bored of you so he'll probably leave you alone giving green signals to his brothers to do whatever they want (or he kills you) or he's falling in love.
- You know that he's falling in love with you when he's more around you to the point when he's the only face that you're seeing and his brothers are just avoiding you like the plague, everyone does, it's like, even humans have a gut feeling that being around you won't bring them good because of the scary demon behind you. (Well if you listen to him it's more of a "You're the one obsessed with me and not the opposite" but yk), he's going to insult you every ten seconds because you looked at an alive being "I'm not looking at you for ten seconds and you're already whoring yourself out ? Pathetic." (But really, it's the poSseSsiViTy), I can also see him as being more touchy in a way but it varies, it don't necessarily mean that Shuu would go tender on you.
- He built a wall around him (like attack on titan type of wall duh, Wall Maria I see you 🙄) to block and repulse any being who wants to be close to him, so when he realizes that he's falling in love with you (and hard because Shuu don't have the concept of limit) he will probably get scared and would try to back off, scare you, being even more brutal because he need to know, need to be sure, how willing you are to be with him. He can't handle a deception and also I feel like he is pretty aware of his mental state and he is deeply scared of losing you and losing himself completely in the same boat.
- When he starts to really care for you, I think that he will start to have nightmares again, especially about Edgar and other stuff involving you because how scared he is. Which bring me to an article that admin about Shuu mastering aftercare, it's 100% logic that he's with you and whispering sweet nothing till he sure that you are safe and asleep with him.
- When his shell starts to crack, it's when he's going to be as his probably most vulnerable state when you can just see how much the paranoia, the possessivity and all the trauma cloud his mind. He will still try to test you for some time and just kinda...still observing like a predator (but with more of a lovesick turn) till he's certain that you will not betray him. And don't take it personally, that's just how he is, everything has been taken away from him, all the happiness, all the color were sucked out of his life, and when there is a real opportunity of getting this happiness back he doesn't play. Literally, Shuu can not handle losing someone important again or he will go full-on Kanato insane. That's why he drown himself in sex and sleep, to not think, that's why he always have sound in his earbuds, to not hear the silence. Its not Shuu's fault that Edgar is dead, it's not his fault if the German shepherd got killed, it's not his fault if his mother didn't took care of his brother, but he'll still take the blame. (Well maybe not for Reiji but you get it.)

Makoto and I walked down the hallway, occasionally exchanging a few words, but mostly just taking everything in. When we decided we'd done enough exploring, we checked the time and saw that we still had 45 minutes until class started.
"What are we supposed to do now?" Makoto whined, putting his arms behind his head.
"We could always go bug the staff in the teachers' lounge," I suggested.
Makoto got this sly smile on his face as he nodded vigorously. So together we made our way to the teachers' lounge, where Dad and a bunch of the other teachers were sure to be. We arrived at the door to the lounge and I pushed it open. As soon as we walked in, we saw a lot of the teachers hanging out and chatting, All Might included. Also, yes, Makoto and I know about All Might, his injury, and how he can't stay in "hero form" for very long. We hang out around UA so often it would have been impossible for them to keep it a secret from us, so Principal Nezu just flat out told us what happened.
"Well, well, well," Midnight said with a smile. "Look at who got into the Hero Course!"
Makoto and I looked at each other and chuckled as we walked in. Midnight immediately stood up and came over to Mako and me.
"You two have gotten to be so much stronger since the last time I saw you," she said, patting our heads.
"Thanks, Midnight," Mako responded. "That means a lot, coming from you."
Midnight gave us a closed eye smile and walked back to her seat on the couch. Mako and I walked over to the counter that the coffee maker was on and began to make ourselves some coffee. Nobody stopped us because it wasn't uncommon for us to be here. When we were both homeschooled and UA was in session, we would spend the majority of our time in the teachers' lounge and socialize with the teachers that didn't have a class. Suffice to say, everyone was used to our presence at this point.
"What are you two doing here?"
Mako and I turned around to see Dad standing right in front of us, his eyes half-closed and his yellow sleeping bag hanging over his shoulder.
"We're making coffee," I responded. "What does it look like?"
Dad sighed dramatically before turning back around and walking to a corner in the room. He climbed into his sleeping bag and fell back asleep. Mako and I turned to each other and laughed as we waited for the coffee to finish brewing. Right as we were pouring our coffee, Present Mic came up to us with an attitude that was way too cheerful for this early in the morning.
"WHAT'S UP, MY DUDES?" He boomed. "YOU PUNKS READY TO DAB THIS DAY?!"
Internally Mako and I cringed. Mic always tried to be "hip" but the way he used slang was nothing short of cringey. I'm absolutely convinced the man gets all of his slang and memes off of Facebook.
"Yeah," Mako said. "I think we are."
"Well good job, both of you, for getting into UA," he said, talking much softer. "We're all very proud of you."
Mako and I looked around the room to see all of the teachers looking at us with varying degrees of pride in their eyes. I almost started crying, but managed to keep the tears from surfacing. Even All Might looked like he was proud of us and he'd only known us since the entrance exam ended. I bowed in thanks to everyone and saw Mako do the same out of the corner of my eye.
The two of us spent the rest of the time we had in the teachers' lounge talking to all of the teachers. We had a really nice conversation with All Might and it was a little surprising to hear how down to earth he was. After checking the time on the clock on the wall, I noticed we only had 10 minutes until class started. I nudged Mako and nodded my head toward the clock. He nodded in response upon seeing the time and we both stood up.
"Thank you for your time," we said in unison to All Might while bowing to him.
"It was my pleasure, you two," he said, waving his hand a little in embarrassment that we were bowing.
We smiled at him and quickly washed our coffee mugs in the sink. Grabbing our bags, we walked out of the teachers' lounge saying a general goodbye to all of the teachers. Just as we got out of the lounge, Dad exited with us and closed the door behind him.
"Which classroom are you going to?" I asked him.
"That's none of your business," he responded with a teasing smile. The smile fell from his face as soon as he started talking again. "Now, I can't have you two punks ruining my image. So get going."
"Got it," I responded with a chuckle.
"See you later, Mr. Aizawa!" Mako said as he and I started walking down the hallway again.
As we were walking away I could hear him muttering.
"Now where is my sleeping bag?" he asked himself. "I need to make... an impression."
Mako and I looked at each other, both having heard what he said and stifled our laughs with our hands as we walked away. As soon as we turned the corner, we started laughing openly, the sound carrying through the halls.
"So," Mako started, calming down from laughing. "We're in Class 1-A."
"Right," I responded. "So we should be just around this corner."
Sure enough, as soon as we turned the corner, our classroom was right there. The door was massive and we could hear yelling come from the other side of the door. Mako and I stood in front of the door, neither of us ready to go in yet.
"I don't know if I'm ready for this," I told Mako, voicing my concerns. "I mean, if I'm anything like my birth parents then I-"
"Stop worrying," Mako interrupted. "You are nothing like your birth parents and you're gonna do great. You won't even have to make friends with anyone if you don't want to."
"Good," I responded. "Because I don't want to make friends. I'm here to become a hero."
"I know," Mako said. "That's why we're all here."
I looked over to him and offered a small smile. He returned a grin of his own and held out his fist to me. I chuckled and gave him a fist bump before dropping the smile from my face and sliding the door to our classroom open.
It was just as chaotic and loud as before and nobody even bothered to turn and look at us besides a few of the boys that had been shouting to each other in a friendly conversation. I scanned the classroom and found my seat right next to Shoto Todoroki, a boy I had met at the recommendations exam. Mako's seat was right in front of mine, which was poor planning on our teacher's part. I was about to walk to my seat when I was stopped by a short boy with purple hair.
"Hey, hot stuff!" He said, drool practically falling out of his mouth as he tried to look up my skirt. "Why don't you come sit by me?"
"Oh come on, Mineta!" a loud blond with a lightning bolt in his hair whined as he came over to us. "Why do you get to talk to all the hotties first?"
I shared a glance with Mako before ignoring both of them and trying to walk to my seat by the window. Both of the boys stepped in front of me in an attempt to stop me.
"Hey, I'm Denki Kaminari," the blond said, a flirty smile on his face. "But you can call me anytime."
"I'm Minoru Mineta," the purple-haired pervert said.
"And I don't care," I responded flatly. "Now, move out of my way before I make you."
I glared at them and they quickly scrambled out of the way. As I made my way to my desk, I heard Mineta grumbling.
"It's not like she's even all that pretty with those scars anyway," he mumbled.
I stopped in my tracks and took a deep breath to try and keep from lashing out at him. The room went so silent that you could hear a pin drop. I heard Mako smack Mineta over the head before coming up behind me and I heard Kaminari rebuking him as well. Good to know Kaminari has some respect for women. I thought to myself.
"You good?" Mako asked softly as he put a hand on my shoulder.
I nodded silently as I began to cross the room yet again. I made it to my desk and set my stuff down next to my chair. I knew there were eyes on me, but I honestly didn't care that much. Soon enough everything went back to how it was before Mako and I entered. There was an ash blond boy at the front of the classroom who had his feet on his desk and a tall blue-haired boy with glasses rebuking him and telling him to have some respect for the school he was attending. I heard the shouting conversation again and the giggling of some girls on one side of the classroom.
"He's wrong," Mako said, turned around at his desk so that he could talk to me. I looked up at him with confusion on my face. "What Mineta said. He's wrong. Your scars don't make you look ugly at all. I think they look cool."
"Thanks, Mako," I said with a small smile.
I pulled out my phone and started playing some games on it as an attempt to pass the time and ignore the stares that lingered. Especially the stare of Shoto Todoroki. I remembered seeing him at the recommendation exam and I remembered his quirk was extremely powerful. He had managed to place second while I placed 3rd and Mako placed 5th. I wasn't sure why he was staring so intently at me, but it was slightly unnerving. I kept my face blank as I waited for class time to start. If there was one thing I was thankful to my bully for, it was my learned ability to both control and conceal my emotions. In fact, Makoto and Dad are the only people I let my guard down around. With everyone else, I act like I don't care about anything, and it's always fun to see who I can piss off by acting that way.
I was pulled out of my thoughts when the door to the classroom opened and a boy with curly green hair and freckles stood in the doorway. As soon as he entered, the rude blond and the uptight blue-haired boy started going at it again.
"Take your feet off of that desk now!" the blue-haired boy said forcefully.
I groaned quietly and buried my head in my arms as I rested them on the desk. I blocked out the conversation that happened as much as I could, but I heard bits and pieces of it. Things like the blue-haired boy was named Tenya Iida, like the pro-hero Ingenium, and how the angry blond really doesn't like the green-haired boy, Izuku Midoriya. The rest I was able to tune out, but I glanced up a few times to see Mako looking over his shoulder at me to make sure I was okay. He tapped his desk with his finger three times and I tapped his chair leg twice in response. This would seem to be meaningless to anyone except Makoto and me.
When we were younger, Makoto didn't like talking about his feelings and I didn't like talking at all. So we devised a system to ask how the other person was without words. If we were holding hands or hugging, we would squeeze three times to ask how the other person was. The person being asked would squeeze back twice if they were fine and once if they weren't okay. This translated to things like now where we would tap on objects to ask if the other person was okay and we just never stopped. So when he tapped his desk three times, he was indiscreetly making sure I was okay and me tapping his chair twice let him know I was fine.
I saw Mako's shoulders relax and I relaxed back into my arms as he tapped my foot one more time with his as a way to make sure I knew he was there when I needed him. I hooked my foot around his as a source of comfort and he did nothing to move it. I think he needed a little comfort too. That was something about Mako that I learned very quickly. He is all about helping others with their emotions and problems but tends to minimize and neglect his own, which was something I tried to not let him do around me.
"If you're just here to make friends you can pack up your stuff now."
Mine and Mako's heads snapped towards the door where we heard my dad right outside the classroom door. Our eyes were wide as we met the other's gaze.
"Welcome to UA's Hero Course," he said in the same monotone voice he used with almost everyone.
"What the hell?" I mouthed to Mako.
He shook his head in response saying he had no clue. The class quieted down as Dad talked some more and unzipped his sleeping bag.
"It took eight seconds before you all shut up," he said, gathering his sleeping bag in his arms and walking into the room. "That's not gonna work. Time is precious. Rational students would understand that."
There was a moment of silence as Dad stood in the doorway of the classroom before he spoke again. The atmosphere was tense as everyone tried to figure out why a tired man with a yellow sleeping bag was in our classroom. They were idiots. Clearly, he was our teacher, which meant so much more antagonizing towards Makoto and me. I sighed heavily and noticed Makoto do the same.
"Hello, I'm Shota Aizawa," he said. "Your teacher." Everyone was shocked for a second, but Dad didn't waste any time in pulling out a PE uniform from his sleeping bag. "Right, let's get to it. Put these on and head outside."
Everyone was confused about what we were doing. Well, everyone besides Makoto and I. We knew what his style of teaching was and we knew he wouldn't go easy on us. If anything, he'd be pushing us harder than anyone else in the class. Realizing he was serious, everyone quickly grabbed a PE uniform and headed to the locker rooms to get changed. I got changed in the corner of the girls' locker room in a successful attempt to remain unseen. I was the first one done, so I walked out of the locker room while adjusting the bracers on my arms and saw Makoto, who walked out around the same time while finishing securing the bracer on his left arm. It was a piece that his mother used when she was a pro. He had one and his sister had the other.
"Did you know?" he asked about Dad being our teacher.
"No," I responded quietly. "You know I would have told you."
We kept the topic of our conversation secret because Dad, Makoto, and I had concluded that it might be a good idea to keep my identity and the fact that I'm our homeroom teacher's daughter a secret. It wouldn't be a secret for long, but it would be helpful while it lasted. That way nobody would think he was helping me in some way.
Makoto and I made our way outside. We were the first ones to be done changing. We met my dad out on the field and shot him half-hearted glares. He just gave us a teasing smile in return but it quickly fell from his face. We looked behind us and saw more students arriving, all now wearing their PE uniforms. I sighed and pulled all of my hair back into a ponytail and pinned my bangs back with some bobby pins I had put in my pocket. I knew what was coming and having my hair in my way wouldn't help me at all.
"Alright," Dad started. "Now that you're all here, I think it's time you know what you'll be doing. Today you'll be performing a quirk assessment test."
"WHAT?!" the rest of the students asked in unison. "A quirk assessment test?"
I could see the annoyance growing on my dad's mostly expressionless face as they all repeated exactly what he had said. He turned around, probably to hide this annoyance as a brown-haired girl, whose name I had heard was Ochako Uraraka, started talking.
"But orientation!" she whined. "We'll miss it!"
"If you really want to make the big leagues you can't waste time on pointless ceremonies," Dad said firmly with his back still turned to us. The students gasped before Dad continued. "Here at UA, we're not tethered to traditions. That means that I get to run my class however I see fit." Dad looked at everyone over his shoulder." Everyone started murmuring, worried about what would happen. Makoto and I shared a glance before turning back to Dad, determined to do well. He turned around to us fully while talking. "You've been taking standardized tests most of your lives." He pulled out a phone and showed it to us. "But you never got to use your quirks in physical exams before. The country's still trying to pretend we're all created equal by not letting those with the most power excel." He glanced at Mako and me for a few seconds before continuing. "It's not rational. One day the Ministry of Education will learn." He stood up straight and turned to the angry blond. "Bakugo, you managed to get the most points on the entrance exam. What was your farthest distance throw with a softball when you were in junior high?"
"67 meters, I think," the angry blond, Bakugo, responded.
"Right," my dad said. "Try doing it with your quirk."
Everyone moved to a different part of the field and Bakugo stood in the center of a circle that was painted on the ground. Dad stood between him and the rest of us. We eagerly waited to see what Bakugo would get on his throw.
"Anything goes," Dad said blandly. "Just stay in the circle." There was a moment of pause where nobody moved. "Go on," Dad urged. "You're wasting our time."
"Alright, man," Bakugo said while stretching his throwing arm. "You asked for it."
He geared up for his throw with a big wind up and when he released it I could have sworn I heard him yell "Die!" But I could be wrong I suppose. A huge explosion left his hand as the ball soared through the air, followed by a trail of orange. Explosions. I thought. That's his quirk. Amazing! It's no wonder he got the highest score on the exam. He has so much power and brute force!
"All of you need to know your maximum capabilities," Dad said, holding the device that would measure distance in his hand. The ball landed in the distance and Dad turned back around to us. "It's the most rational way of figuring out potential as a pro hero."
He showed us the screen and in big, blue numbers we saw that Bakugo threw the ball 705.2 meters. I looked at Makoto and raised my eyebrows slightly, impressed at his throw. Makoto mirrored my expression and nodded. We had our work cut out for us.
"Whoa!" Kaminari said. "705 meters! Are you kidding me?"
"I wanna go!" the pink-skinned girl with horns said excitedly. "That looks like fun!"
I chuckled at her choice of words and I saw Makoto let a small smile through. The rest of the students kept talking about how much fun these tests would be. Idiots. I thought. He's gonna push us to our limits. This isn't supposed to be fun and it won't be.
"So this looks fun, huh?" Dad asked calmly. Everyone paused at his words. "You have three years here to become a hero. You think it's all gonna be games and playtime?" A smirk that can only be described as devious made its way onto Dad's face. "Idiots," he said. "Today you'll compete in eight physical tests to gauge your potential. Whoever comes in last had none and will be expelled immediately."
Everyone immediately made noises of protest. Makoto and I shared a look and I nodded. Dad was serious. Even if it was one of us that came in last, we'd be expelled. He wouldn't play favorites. Dad interrupted everyone's internal monologues about how they would need to do their best with more talking.
"Like I said," he started. "I get to decide how this class runs. Understand? If that's a problem, you can head home right now."
"You can't send one of us home!" Uraraka said, stepping forward to challenge Dad. "I mean, we just got here. Even if it wasn't the first day. That isn't fair!"
I scoffed and felt some eyes turn to me. Immediately Dad started talking again, though.
"Oh, and you think natural disasters are?" he asked. "Or power-hungry villains? Hm? Or catastrophic accidents that wipe out whole cities? No. The world is full of unfairness. It's a hero's job to try and combat that unfairness." An air of understanding seemed to wash over the students as Dad continued to talk. "If you wanna be a pro, you're gonna have to push yourself to the brink. For the next three years, UA will throw one terrible hardship after another at you. So go beyond. Plus ultra style." He smiled again, this time a little more reassuring. "Show me it's no mistake that you're here."
After he finished talking, I could hear everyone chattering to themselves about how they needed to do well. I tried to calm my nerves that were rapidly growing. If there's one thing I've never liked, it's being singled out and made the center of attention. The fact that we would be doing most of these tests one at a time in front of our classmates was enough to get my heart racing. Sensing my nerves, Makoto grabbed my hand tightly. Much tighter than he would have if he was simply doing it for my benefit. I squeezed his hand three times to ask if he was okay. He squeezed twice at first, but a few seconds later squeezed again. He wasn't sure. He was nervous, we all were. These tests could make or break us.
"Now then," Dad started. "We're just wasting time by talking. Let the games begin."

Hi :) This might sound weird haha but I adore reading you talk about your writing, it's really inspiring and I feel like I learn a lot of things every time I read you talk about it (you know I'm a fan of your style haha). And anyways while I was reading your answer to your last anon, this struck me: "when i was outlining that chapter i think the only line i dedicated to the actual fight itself was “and then they have a crazy knife fight (good luck future me)”" and I wanted to ask you (1/2?)
(2/3?) do you have like any tips for writing a multichapters fic? I guess from what you wrote here you outline the whole thing before you start with it? Or it depends or the story and sometimes you just go with the flow and see where it goes haha? Do you mind sharing some of your writing process of multichapter fics? :3 Bc I tend to get "bored" really easily and if I don't finish something in one sitting I usually never ever finish it. But also I'd like to learn how to take my time sometimes

i’m gonna go ahead and throw 100% of my answer under the cut because i haven’t even started yet and i know this is about to be. So Long. i am sorry in advance lmao
there are a couple of different aspects to this ask that i want to touch on so i will be as brief as possible but as i have proven twice over tonight alone, i am really not capable of that lmfao
i’d say first and foremost, the biggest thing you can do to help yourself in this arena is figure out how to best discipline yourself. which SUCKS it’s like the worst most mom answer ever but in all honesty, developing discipline in writing is what separates the “i could write a book” people from the people who actually do write books. everyone is capable of writing, but not everyone has the discipline or patience to do so. long-form narrative requires even MORE discipline than a one-shot (or even a long one-shot) because it’s like you said, it requires the author to come back over and over and over again to write new material and edit existing material and figure out a way to cohesively connect everything they’ve written into one consistent narrative, and some people have a much harder time with that than others do. there’s nothing wrong with that either way!! the world needs short stories just as much as it needs longer stories. but if you’re wanting to work on writing longer-form narratives, working out a way to best discipline yourself should probably be your number-one goal.
that kind of brings me to my next point (and also ties in part of what i was talking about in that other ask) - comparing your writing style, your progress, your everything to other writers will only lead to heartache for you. when i first started reading and writing for b99 i came across a specific author (who is now one of my dear friends) whose fics were just. next-level works of art. and while i read through just about everything she’d written for b99 and LOVED every single one of them, i found myself getting more and more down on my own writing, because i knew i’d never be able to write like her. but the more comfortable and confident i got in my own writing, the more i realized that it’s less about writing more like That Person and more about developing my own style (my favorite comparison to make between my writing and hers now is that hers are like beautiful and intricate fairy tales, and mine are more of a smokey back room at a bar where a guy is sitting alone at a table and he says “come here and listen to this story.” they’re both Very Different, and perhaps have varying audiences, but one is not inherently Better Or Worse than the other). all of this to say, if you’re working as hard as you can and being really disciplined but still find yourself struggling with writing a multichap, THAT’S OKAY!!! there’s NOTHING wrong with that!!! your writing, however short or long, serves an INCREDIBLY important purpose within the fandom as a whole and no matter what, there will ALWAYS be an audience for your writing.
so okay as for the actual Advice!!! i actually have a couple of steps that i usually follow prior to actually Writing the first chapter of any long fic i’ve written (or am in the process of writing...@king and lionheart yikes). i have yet to really find any consistency in how i think of ideas for multichaps - so far the idea every multichap i’ve written has come from a different source (which is actually kind of Frustrating for reasons i won’t get into). but basically once i actually have An Idea, i’ll take a day or two to kind of think it over and flesh it out as much as possible. if it really starts expanding in detail and an actual Story constructs itself around the idea, i’ll move on to the next step, which is to find a few trusted mutuals here on tungle.corn and say “heyyYYY CAN I YELL ABOUT AN IDEA I HAVE FOR A SECOND” and then spill everything i’ve thought of so far. usually i can tell if an idea will live or die based on these conversations - if the other person is Into It and we start sort of developing the world within the chat, i know it’s time to really sit down and make an effort to pursue the fic. in that case, i will go and copy&paste that part of our chat into a google doc and i’ll build an outline in a separate doc. i used to despise outlines and i would refuse to do them in high school, but once i got into writing as a hobby and i started pursuing longer narrative forms, i tried once or twice to write a multichap without an outline and i just forgot a lot of the details i originally wanted to include, which left me feeling really frustrated with myself and with my writing. i came to realize that outlines kind of a necessary evil, so in writing them i made them as fun for me as possible (i.e. the “good luck future me” line from the king and lionheart outline i mentioned lmao). now i love them and i have them open at all times while i’m working on writing a new chapter.
so i know that i started this off by saying that writing multichaps requires a special kind of discipline, and i stand by that, but also...writer’s block and real life responsibility and just plain exhaustion are all Very Real Things, and they take precedent over keeping up with a publishing schedule (if you’re so inclined to make one of those for yourself). when i started writing king and lionheart, i didn’t know at that point that i would be headed back to school in the spring, and thought that i would have all the time in the world to write. right around november, i realized that i would be going back to school - that’s about the time i took an unofficial hiatus from writing king and lionheart, because i knew trying to keep up with writing that fic the way that i want it to be written and all of the intensive and demanding coursework was going to kill me. taking a step back from posting and coming back to it later is okay. i know i talk a lot about feeling guilty for not having an update for king and lionheart (and the cancer au before it) but in all honesty i know that it’s okay for me to take some time and deal with my real life. and, you know, it’s also okay to lose inspiration for a while and to take a step back until that inspiration comes back. i think it’s that fear of not being able to take longer breaks between updates that scares a lot of people off from even trying to write a multichap - as the queen of procrastination, i am here to tell you that it is 100% okay to start a multichap and to take a break and come back to it when necessary!
writing a multichap is very much like running a marathon - it requires a different kind of energy than a 400 meter sprint or a 1k fluffy oneshot. it’s gonna hurt and it’s gonna suck and there are gonna be times when you’re ready to just quit writing altogether. but there will be parts that are really fun and really easy and you’re gonna get some really great views along the way - and at the end when you cross that finish line and you’re able to check that “complete” box on ao3 before you post the last chapter, you won’t remember the parts that sucked. trust me!! i wouldn’t write as many as i do if the actual shitty parts of the writing process negated the good things that come from writing it and sharing it with other people!
it’s also worth noting that just because you get bored with an idea doesn’t mean that you can’t pick it up again later!!! honestly the first 2 or 3 paragraphs of on your heart like a tattoo sat in my google docs for MONTHS before i randomly decided one day to open it and take a crack at finishing it, and to this DAY i’m still getting people regularly commenting on it. every idea has its purpose and its place, even if it doesn’t always immediately seem like it.

Hey, I'm reading what you had to say about F*nn and his shirts and I was wondering your opinion on the likes of Dalton Castle, the Velveteen Dream or Breezango. They're all straight (at least, that I know of), but depict characters that are associated with the LGBT+ community. Do you see them using that kind of gimmick as a problem? Or even a bad thing that shouldn't be done since they're just part of the staight ally?
oof!!! that’s a really good question and i appreciate you trusting me to answer this, so thank you 
uhhh this varies from person to person, actually. my opinion on them in a short sense is that dalton is USUALLY fine, while velveteen and breezango are…more…complicated. dalton’s talked about the character he plays before, and he words it as being different because, for example, when he interacts with men in the audience, it’s not meant to be uncomfortable, but more of a flattering thing. it’s…hm. how to word this. it’s not meant to be…transgressive? if that makes sense? it isn’t meant to shock you or creep you out, it’s meant as just…flirting. as far as i know dalton’s straight but i personally feel like he’s okay! it helps that he’s a babyface and that him being coded as gay is just part of that. if that makes sense. 
velveteen and breezango are a different matter. 
breezango are definitely for SUREEEEEEE coded as gay and the dudes themselves are…fine? they play it fine, i’m not always the most comfortable with it but most of that has to do with how wwe frames them, and THAT’S where the problem comes in. whenever they’re exhibiting Gay-Like Behavior, its a comedic thing. it’s something to be laughed at and mocked and seen as a joke. the dudes themselves handle it fine, but they’re framed so…weirdly and outrageously that even when they ARE babyfaces this is meant to be a weird quirk or a joke than something even teasing the idea of Representation. yknow how jbl would freak out about them on commentary all the time? or like, how even if he doesn’t necessarily Play It Up, tyler usually disguises himself as a woman and that’s a running joke? its like. its something to laugh at and i DONT think tyler or fandango are in a position where they can object to that portrayal, like most people in wwe, but the fact of the matter is its…uhh…not great. ian’s talked about it better than i could haha
and velveteen. hoo boy. velveteen is queercoded and this is definitely and without question a transgressive thing. it’s treated as such by a lot of his competitors, especially while he was starting out as velveteen, and people would be freaked out by him because he’s not gender conforming and he’s for sure not straight and it’s not GREAT. it’s gotten a lot better with time, imo? his feud with aleister felt a lot more…reciprocated? and he’s been treated decently and i appreciate that. it’s…hard to word, but i feel like his role has stopped being played for laughs and started just being him, and i don’t know about my other Gays™ on here but i do genuinely adore him and willingly accept him as a queer icon. he doesn’t profit off of it either and that sure does help! 
velveteen being coded as queer is still meant to be even mildly transgressive, though, and honestly it doesn’t help that while everyone else here is probably straight irl, velveteen’s got some ISSUES with drawing the line between kayfabe and reality. his previous gimmick was a tr*mp supporter and he keeps up the character of velveteen strongly enough that i…want to believe that this was the case with this past gimmick as well, where he supported tr*mp. but uh. you can kinda see how if it isn’t just a past gimmick, how having him play a queercoded character who comes off originally as villainous isnt GOOD ! its…weird. the man devotes himself passionately to his character and the lines he draws between reality and kayfabe are shaky at best and i love velveteen’s character but it’s uhhhh not a shining example of THe Gold Standard Of LGBT Representation, yknow? 
i dont know. i know im wording this densely and poorly but it really does…vary person to person, and its nuanced and there’s a lot that comes into play, and i don’t think there’s anything inherently wrong with these characters as long as they’re played well, but things can go sour. i know i love breezango and everything but also its gotten kinda impossible to watch them without feeling like the butt of the joke. sometimes no matter how well the character is played, the framing of them is just gonna be garbage because the promotion isn’t gonna take a queer character or story seriously. there’s a lot to consider and i have done all of it EXTREMELY poorly oh christ there are so many blocks of text anon i am so so so sorry

(LS) Good afternoon, appreciate you taking the time to answer some questions for us, who are you, where are you from and what do you do?
(MR) I'm MastodonRare, I'm a rapper & singer out of Glendale, Arizona
(LS) Being in the Arizona scene for many years now you have progressed so much, from your sound to even your presence in the scene. Recently you dropped a single called Coastin’ but have many other hit singles, how does your creative process work?
(MR) Honestly, it varies greatly. There's times where I'll have a hook or melody written and find a beat to put it on and there's times where I'll hear a beat and go where that beat takes me and let the creativity flow. Actually on Coastin' I had that main line written, but it had a different vibe; more like a PnB song, but when I heard the beat I sang the piece that I had, at a slower tempo and went from there.
(LS) You recently threw a show for your project “We Play 4 Blood” how was that whole experience? Being a headliner? Organizing? Etc.
(MR) Stressful at first man, it's not something I'd wanna do everyday, honestly so at some point I'll need a touring manager/promoter to do all that. But I did cherish the experience I gained. The show was a huge success thanks to everyone involved and the fans of course. I've been a headliner before, but this time was different, like everyone was there for us specifically and they were. I set the lineup and that went perfect, all in all, it was the best night of my career, by far.

(LS) I remember you being apart of betterEVERYDAY or mentioning something about that, is it still a thing? Was it a group? A label?
(MR) betterEVERYDAY is a collective actually & my personal motto. I'm ALWAYS looking to evolve & get better in some way or fashion at all times, so BETTEREVERYDAY just encompasses that idea. Even in my musical approach; all my musical styles vary so widely because when I make something, I look to master it and once I feel I've mastered it, I move on. When I made "Wounded" I was really rapping bars at speeds and hitting pockets in different crazy ways, i feel like that's one of my "Mastery" songs so I'll never do a song like that again, same with songs like "Doin My Thing", "Lucky Me" & "OMO" along with many others. If I feel like it's a style I mastered, in my own way, I move on from it.
(LS) How has the journey of music been for you? Your first official tape was back in 2016 and I know you have more track even before that? How has the last 5+ years of the grind been for you?
(MR) I learned early on to fall in love with the journey more than the destination so it's been a ride this whole time and I've enjoyed all of it; the ups & downs alike. They were times I got no plays, nobody listening to my music or caring about anything I did and it sucked cuz at that time I thought I was the greatest (I wasn't that good at all) and there have been times where I feel like I'm on top of the world; from fans DMing me saying that my song meant a lot to them to playing shows to engaged crowds and having people tell me personally that they think I can do amazing things. I still feel and am greatly overlooked, but I learned a while ago that that's something only I can fix & I feel like I'm on the perfect path to do so.
(LS) What the next move for Más? Any visuals? More shows? New project you working on?
(MR) I want to do a Coastin' visual so that'll probably be next. No projects this year man, I'm focusing on my singles, videos and everything else I can do musically this year until I have better standing from where I was when I dropped my last tape. I dont wanna do more than one tape at a time until I've reached a new level. Definitely more shows though.

(LS) Who are your go to creatives when you get stuck in a moment and can’t seem to get past your creative block? Do you ever get other close friends or artist to help when you’re stuck?
(MR) Not exactly, because I know you cant force creativity. A lot of artists think they're the ones making the art, like it's something they control, but in reality, we're more like vessels and the creativity comes when it's the time. I listen to beats all the time and I know my tastes, skills & all that, but I dont always write to them, some of them just warm me up to write to something else. Sometimes I'll write a few bars to a song, scrap it, keep the best bars & use them in another song. As for my contemporaries that inspire me my brother Turo taught me everything I know and need to know about hooks and I evolved through that knowledge. Starting off with such a rappity rap style, I tried to be too technical all the time & that doesnt make for good hooks at all, he would say just freestyle it, go with your gut. Hear the beat and say what comes to mind and that's the hook.
(LS) Do you believe Arizona is next up as far as being a big state where we have many artist coming out? Who do you think is up for grabs when it comes to claiming Arizona?
(MR) I definitely believe AZ's time is coming. As for some specific person claiming it, I dont think that's gonna happen or be the same as with some other states, just because there's SO many incredibly talented artists from here, I think it'll be something that boils over, like a lot of people make it out at similar times, instead just one artist putting the state on.
(LS) How does your whole creative process work? Do you need an official studio? Do you have your usual routine or what?
(MR) Whenever I wanna write or create a song, I have to be in my own space, so at home. If I make the song structure, but don't fill in all the words, there are cases where I can finish the actual lyrics on the go or in studio. I dont need a big fancy studio, I've recorded at big studios with all the bells & whistles and the final product was ass, but I record in a home studio in a bedroom set up for music and my quality is better than it has ever been and only getting better.
