After coming back from Europe life has picked up steam pretty quick, and as of now I'm just swamped with looking for more work (I work weekends right now but the drop in salary from full time isn't sustainable), studying, preparing for the holidays and properly researching how to launch my own business - so tumblr has taken a bit of a backseat!

I will also say I'm taking much better care of myself than I was previously - eating proper meals and going outside and socialising and such - which leaves less time to get thumb cramp scrolling through my phone as I was previously doing.

Currently I still lurk and like things, but I'll try and get back to reblogging and writing soon - I see and love all the asks in my inbox and I promise I'll get to them all eventually!

School day got me literally dead.,,,, I don’t even know what to say. I wake up at 4:30AM every morning, leave the house by 5am and then I don’t leave work until after 5pm... honestly insane lol wtf. This year is so much more exhausting than last year (would have never thought it could be more tiring than last year but here we are KDJKSFFSF). But first week of being a SD supervisor actually went a lot smoother than I had thought so thank goodness!!!!! Got so lucky with my school assignments this time around. I can only wish that the rest of the month will go well too...... A few more weeks until I can live like a regular human again. >_<

A nearby country just had a new monarch ascend the throne. Cang Qiong, as was the norm, was invited to pay their respects to the new monarch, reaffirm the standing alliance between cultivators and mortals (which pretty much boiled down to cultivators kill evil things, mortals stay out of cultivation affairs plus some trade agreements), and ensure that the previous monarch's soul wasn't still lurking around the palace as a ghost. You know, the standard stuff.

So Yue Qingyuan didn't think much when he sent the usual delegation of Shen Qingqiu (to handle the political negotiation and come back with observations of the new Emperor), Shang Qinghua (trade agreements), and Qi Qingqi (to talk with the court ladies and government official wives for the gossip).

The last thing he expected was for the new Emperor to recognize Shen Jiu as the little brother who went missing when the previous Emperor - the new Emperor's paternal uncle, from what Yue Qingyuan understood - undertook a military coup to secure the throne.

When Shen Yuan finally killed his super fucking evil tyrant uncle who had been sending a million assassins after Shen Yuan and his (unfortunately now dead) brothers, he got saddled with the throne. He knew that was going to happen! It was something he wasn't asking for, but it was either regain the throne or let his uncle finally succeed in killing him, the rightful Emperor, off. It was pretty shitty that his first month in this new world involved surviving a military coup in the palace where his new dad was murdered by his new uncle for the throne. If Shen Yuan thought being transmigrated into a body that drowned in the pond because of some harem politics for the crown prince position was bad, well, his life got a whole lot fucking worse.

But things were over. He was crowned emperor, had a million super tight best friends all high up in his government backing him, and even the cultivators were recognizing his reign as the legit one, so he was all fine.

Right??

NO! Because why the fuck was he just realizing now that his second life was actually taking place in PIDW and why the fuck was that Shen Qingqiu and the Cang Qiong delegation??? Like, he was busy living on the streets and plotting to retake the throne, sure, but how could he had missed that Cang Qiong was that Cang Qiong!?

Fuck, fuck, fuck. Where in the PIDW plot line was he in now? How far along is Shen Qingqiu busy torturing the protagonist and how much longer does Shen Yuan even have to rule his country before the protagonist comes to conquer? How the fuck is he going to stop the plot from continuing - how is he going to remove Shen Qingqiu from the plot?

Shen Yuan isn't proud to admit it, but he rolls with the first shitty idea that pops into his head.

He claims that Shen Qingqiu is his missing younger brother - he had like three dozen of them to be honest, his second life's dad was one horny motherfucker - and tries to keep Shen Qingqiu from going back to Cang Qiong under all sorts of familial pretenses.

Shen Yuan is sure that Cang Qiong is merely humoring his insanity by letting Shen Qingqiu go along with it all, having "family dinners" and making small talk while being careful to skirt around any true political talk, but his plan hasn't backfired on him yet.

YET.

He's sitting on this ticking timebomb and Shen Yuan might be in his 40s but he still feels like the same stupid 20 something year old writing 5k word diss reviews on PIDW chapters some days. If only he had a system to help guide him out of his own mess.

(Meanwhile Shen Jiu: I HAVE AN OLDER BROTHER WHO LOVES ME???? but I'm still sus about his motives. I will reluctantly allow him to shower me in presents and praises and spend time with him to investigate more.)

tell us more about matt please, he was a guest speaker at your uni?

Yes!! yes yes. He was here to do an interview/lecture about 'crafting a narrative', so he answered questions from a professor here about critical role, games, his 'secret origin story', and a number of other things. It was legit so nice. I think I'm a little in love with him. who said that.

It was so surreal to see him in person. He looked kind of sheepish as we were all cheering, like he wasn't supposed to be there- we were all over the moon. When prompted for his origin story, he talked about how his grandmother, a little old lady from georgia, was secretly super into fantasy and got him hooked on piers anthony and isaac asimov as an eight year old, and how his dad doing occasional background voice work got him interested and how that snowballed into years of hard work in hollywood.

He talked about his friend Liam mentioning that he hadn't been able to play DnD since he was little and how he offered to DM a one shot for his birthday- and how a few weeks later he was meeting a few acquaintances to discuss characters (he said he was flustered meeting Ashley Johnson who he'd grown up watching), and then afterwards they started meeting more and more often. Then as word got around they were doing it, Felicia Day offered to put them on a new twitch channel- and how nerve wracking it was to put themselves out there and on the internet.

he said to lean into your passions. Nowadays there's a tendency to call passion 'cringe', but there's nothing shameful about loving the things you care about.

He talked about how capitalism wants you to produce and produce and produce and how that is antithetical to art and to creating, because in order to really make something you're proud of you need to have the time to do it. This led into him talking about making the animated show, how after the kickstarter blew up a bunch of companies approached them, wanting to own the ip. he described it as the moment in a movie when someone pushes a little paper with some exorbitant amount on it- but he said that none of them wanted to be millionaires. They weren't in it for money, so they said no and partnered with the only company who wanted to let them do their own thing: Amazon. He acknowledged the irony of that, and how surprised all of them were when that was the company that gave them the most freedom.

there was so much other stuff- he talked about how the industry is a community, how you can be a really successful actor and also a good person, how everyone should be lifting each other up because it wasn't a race to the top, it was collaboration. Really wonderful stuff, you know? His philosophy of being kind really shone through the whole time.

anyway of course there was more but this is off the top of my head what he talked about!! it was so so good bro I love that man. always meet your heroes.

I truly started off just trying to practice sketching with the aid of an art book. (Why I decided on a side-face, I have no idea.) It wasn't until I was done that I decided it kinda looked like Maedhros (the gaze), so I slapped on red hair. I guess my first Tolkien fanart is a Silm subject!

There are a thousand things wrong with this, but I'm telling myself it's not terrible for a first run and very little practice. (I have NOT been practicing like I said I would. Shame.) I hope I have enough patience to keep practicing, and (1,000 sketches later??) I believe I can get better! Besides, I forgot how fun drawing can be!

Btw, A.I. can't make those ugly pencil/erasure marks. XD So you know this is at least legit.

The impromptu crowd flooding Mesagoza fell silent. Their formerly-youngest Champion, the incomparable, unrivaled prodigy, had yet to uncover her face after the blast of Tera Shards being shattered off of her strongest Pokemon and strewn across the plaza. She had been defeated. By another kid, no less. She could be defeated.

… Was she crying?

"Nemona…?"

The victor -- as well as the Director and the Top Champion in the crowd -- all started to step toward her with concern written on their faces, when…

"YOU DID IT!!! This is legit incredible! You’re the strongest out there, Juliana!" Nemona suddenly roared. The relieved audience resumed their cheers as Nemona rapidly closed the rest of the distance to Juliana, holding up her shaking, clenched fists like she was barely restraining herself from launching onto the rooftops like a rocket.

Juliana giggled with a proud, toothy smile. In another timeline, she could've easily flinched and backed away from Nemona's overwhelming energy, but not this one. "Hehehe, thank--"

"I mean, you knocked me flat, and I was… giving you absolutely EVERYTHING I had! Everything I… I… Ha haaa! Hahaha! Oh man. Pokémon battling, am I right??? It’s so much better, so much more fun than I ever even knew! Man! Hahaha! Haaah... hoo..." Nemona continued to enthuse, sounding like she was nearly hyperventilating.

"Y-yeah, that was a lotta fun! I'm glad I finally got to see what you're like without holding yourself back for my sake."

"… Heh! And I'm so super proud of you for bein' able to handle it! Now I've got a real challenge to overcome again! It's like you've… like… given me back the thing I loved most! But uh… heh, I guess that's just kinda what you do, though, isn't it?"

"Mmm, I guess so, huh?" Juliana had to agree. It was true, this was at least the third new friend whose Treasure Report she was very likely to end up in that semester, at the expense of her sleep schedule. "Well… I wouldn't be here without you, either. I might've never known I could do something like this, if you didn't... take me under your wing and believe in me."

"Aww. Well, I might've had an ulterior motive, heh heh… but that sparkle in your eyes during our first battle was your own! I can't make you love something if you didn't already! Believe me, I've tried. I mean, why else would you go all the way to the top, huh?"

"… To see you this happy?" Juliana offered.

"Heh! Good one! Put 'er there, rival!" Nemona said as she offered her hand to shake, which Juliana took and held firmly as if she was being helped to stand up. "Now I gotta think about what Pokemon to bring for round two!" the council president declared, eliciting some facepalms from Geeta and Clavell. "Decisions, decisions…"

Juliana side-eyed those two but didn't point them out to Nemona. "No, really, I mean it."

"Mean what now sorry?" Nemona blurted out quickly, snapping her attention back to the present.

"I never gave up any of the times I was tempted to on my Gym Challenge, 'cause… I wanted you to share your favorite thing in the world with me. 'Cause… I imagined how happy you'd be right now, and didn't think anything would make ME happier than seeing that."

"… Jules, I-- Don't make me cry in fronta all these people, c'mon!"

Juliana smiled sheepishly. "Sorry!"

Nemona responded with a hearty laugh and a tight hug. "Hahaha! Man… I think YOU'RE my favorite thing in the world, actually."

"Aww. Best treasures?"

"Best treasures."

More "awws" could be heard from the crowd at that, even if they couldn't hear all of what was being said... as well as the sound of an old man bawling uncontrollably.

okay okay firstly can't go wrong in boston. legit nothing to hate frfr. i went and toured my (hopefully) college and just fell in love with it!! i feel super supported as an honor's student and also as an out of stater, i think it's gonna be really good. they gave me a little lanyard with a nametag and i got a little star for being an honor's student, which was so so cute!!

and THEN i met the girl i've been talking to as a prospective roommate and when i tell you we are perfect for each other like...we ate, we served, we're besties now. i love her and i just met her!!! i've always been super excited to go to college but even more so now that i know i'm going with her!!

and then the next day me and my momma just wandered the city until we had to catch our plane back home. i FINALLY got my bagel and lipgloss combo, so so good. i got to eat it in the boston commons, which look WAYYYYYY prettier in the summer but they honestly weren't too bad in the winter!!

On Timm Flipline

Hello papa louiers,

The guy who brought you cursed Pinch Hitwell headcanons is here with something legit this time.

TLDR; Timm was traumatized by being kidnapped during the first platformer game and decided to say "fuck being a lawyer I'm pursuing my dream." Unfortunately, it does not go super well.

This is my headcanon on the series of events in Timm's life.

Ever since he was a child, Timm wanted to be a dancer. However, his parents did not support the arts. They were insistent on him becoming a lawyer, or perhaps any other high caliber career, and could not stand his foolishness.

Therefore, Timm did not receive any lessons or support for his dream. He did not give up though, and in a Footloosian manner, would secretly dance in his room whenever he felt the urge to jive.

Timeskip to the future. He passed law school and is now a partner in a successful law firm working for the restaurant mogul Papa Louie. His parents are proud. He's making a name for himself, living comfortably, and although this isn't a Quimm post I think probably has an active romantic life as well >:)

Then, it happens. Timm, alongside others, is kidnapped and taken to Munchmore. Timm is locked in a cage, surrounded by sentient onions and tomatoes who are out for blood. He does not know how long he will be trapped here. He does not know if he will make it out alive. He is hungry, tired, and afraid.

After the kidnapping, Timm is a changed man. He has been brought face-to-face with his own mortality, and he realizes that life is too short to be stuck in a job your parents pushed you into. He listens to the beat of his dancing heart and leaves! Sure, Quinn is heartbroken, but she doesn't understand. He has to do this.

Timm is unsure what to do with himself after going from a cushy lawyer job to nothing but savings and a dream. As if a sign from heaven, he comes across a job post from Whiskview Dance Studio! Wowza! He applies immediately and gets the job. Things are going good for him. Too good.

When he arrives, the dance studio has closed. Timm is crushed, his spirits sunk to their lowest. His former employer, Papa Louie, appears from the ether and tells Timm that he has opened another brand new restaurant: Papa's Bakeria. In his saddened state, Timm agrees to work there alongside another downtrodden dancer, Cecilia (weird that they both ended up there . . .)

According to Cecilia's flipdeck, it takes them a year of work before finally, Papa Louie reopens the dance studio. In the game, the ending is the same, with the studio either being Timm's or Cecilia's. However, in her flipdeck, it specifically says that Cecilia is the one who owns the studio.

My interpretation of these events is that Papa Louie felt betrayed by Timm leaving, so when the time came, he gave the studio to Cecilia. Cecilia had never wronged him, but Timm did.

From there? Who knows! I sure don't.

Humble brags from this week because I feel really accomplished and proud of myself

2 months on T looks hot as hell on me and it feels even better. I was given a work/study student of the year award by my supervisor yesterday completely by surprise, and I also picked up a certificate of recognition for trans day of visibility from the student community & leadership development office at my school. I accepted my offer to work in the library over the summer (better $$ than I thought!) so I'll finally have a legit job after 5 years (and in a field I love)! I'm working on a course with one of my favourite profs and it's looking good -- I got to design my own syllabus so it's all about transmasculine theory & life writing, which will prep me for grad school if I so choose. My partner is graduating college and we're planning to do a grad trip in Montreal with our pals. All of my coworkers and peers have been so wonderful and kind and supportive since I've gone public with my transition (even the one who had a lot to learn -- she has come super far and I'm really grateful for her). And I just checked my GPA and it went up a little! 8.5/9, babeyy.
