novice dunmeshi fans in the tags of my posts tryna say chilchucks daughters aren’t adults….. heh. 😏 this may blow some peoples minds but I would like to remind everyone that half foots have shorter lifespans and reach adulthood by 14 according to the sacred texts 👇
chilchuck describes them as fully independent when he corrects marcille, who assumes he’s left his wife alone with a young child. The family dynamic is nicely summarized here 👇
and of course my most compelling evidence is the time when chilchucks three adult daughters describe themselves as his three adult daughters:
how could a guy who isn’t even 29 yet have three adult daughters, some have asked? Look no further. I have your answers here:
a bit young even for his own race but unfortunately for some of you guys the facts speak for themselves 😔
now don’t ever correct me again

can i just say that I'm haunted by the image of Ice wearing "one of Mavericks cheapest rolexes". One because of the mental immage of Maverick being the kind of men who not only owns multiple watches but also Rolex, which is absolutely delightful, because oh the quiet vanity of that. And two because of the implied and groundbreaking (to me) domesticity (and defiance of the not talking/acknowledging the thing between the 2 of them) of wearing another person watch. I'm screaming into the void about your brilliance. So I need to ask, do they do that on purpose (before the mission) in a sort if roundabout way of acknowledging each other presence in their life? What would Mav wear that belongs to Ice (apart from that USNA ring eheh)?
pilots/sailors/doctors etc who do high-level specialized work with their hands tend to really be Watch Guys. and “cheap” rolexes (sub $7k ish) are actually pretty affordable if you’re making >$150k a year and want to treat yourself every fifth christmas or something. source: know several sailors & doctors. ALSO the watch ice is wearing in his famous gay plane photoshoot is actually a rolex. So theres some evidence ice at least is (annoying, ostentatious, bad with money, and) a Watch Guy. Maverick’s also wearing a kickass chronograph in TGM so i think he’s also probably a Watch Guy. also… you know, status symbol, honor, et cetera et cetera…
they probably wear each other’s socks because in-regs socks all look the same and they’re both men so who cares. i also hc that they’ve always worn the same size in shirts so each other’s t-shirts are also free game. and was very confusing at the start of their relationship when trying to figure out whose shirt was whose after a midnight rendezvous. lots of accidental shirt mixups. and, yeah, each other’s watches, because most people only see the status and don’t see the detail, and most people aren’t around both ice and mav enough to recognize that “omg last month adm kazansky was wearing the same omega chronometer capt mitchell is wearing today!! theyre totally together!!!” so if ice buys a new watch and maverick salivates over it, sure he can borrow it, whatever. and i think there’s a scene in wwgattai when maverick wears ice’s pj pants hold up lemme find it
“in bare feet.” now wtf does that mean. that could use a rewrite.
ice also wears mavericks leather jacket when they’re on their baseball date in debriefing. at some point when you live with someone long enough your stuff becomes their stuff which was the point of this graf
thinking about it… trying to decide if they’d wear each other’s cologne. that seems like a little much. no i don’t think so.

“Bodhi leaned forward in his seat, fully intent on Jyn. "You're Galen's daughter?" he asked.
He looked like he hadn't slept in days. He looked almost as pathetic as she did.
"You know him?" she asked.
What did he think of the stranger in her hologram?
"Yes."”

yet another veneziano analysis post from urs truly
i really do see veneziano as one of those people who have a lot of suppressed anger. not as in he's secretly an angry, bitter person behind a cheerful mask or anything, but
the thing about anger is that it's what you feel when you don't like the way things are or how you're being treated. anger inspires change. it establishes boundaries. it encourages taking care of yourself. anger is the acknowledgement that things are not okay in their current state. anger is "things should have been different" or "things should be different now."
veneziano, he puts up with a lot, actually. the fact that the two people closest to him died (that's not fair); he was mistreated and objectified by basically everyone around him, even hungary at one point disrespected his boundaries, as a child (that's not fair); the way the people he's closest to often call him stupid, annoying, and other insults (that's not fair); and a lot of other things.
veneziano is rarely shown to be angry, or sad, or anything of the sort. he's shown to be scared a lot, yes, but primarily, he's just happy. relaxed. peaceful.
i absolutely think this is a coping mechanism. he focuses on the good in everything and everyone because what if he didn't? what if he didn't put in the effort to keep the upsetting things from his conscious mind?
he would be forced to acknowledge that maybe he wishes his brother spoke more kindly to him. he would be forced to acknowledge that maybe his childhood fucked up his sense of self worth. he would be forced to acknowledge that it hurts when the other nations think so little of him (and he's surprised whenever they actually ask him for help with things). he would be forced to acknowledge his fear of the people he loves leaving him or dying. he would be forced to acknowledge the childhood self he shuts out.
allowing himself to be angry would be acknowledging that things are not okay, and veneziano can't handle that. he spent so much of his life tuning things out because he had no other option. the majority of his life has, in fact, not been peaceful, so veneziano attempts to cultivate his own peace. peace is freedom from disturbance. disturbance is change. change is anger. anger is unprocessed grief.
veneziano doesn't acknowledge all the things he dislikes or wishes were different, and that displeasure, that grief, gets turned into heavily buried anger. his happiness is a coping mechanism, not a privilege.

Hmmm imo the mass mischaracterization and misterpretation and also flanderalization of Percy Jackson as a character comes from their status as the protagonist of a piece of children's media. This is absolutely not meant as mean or to be condesending, especially because the fandom is full of minors and i'm a firm believer that they should be spoken to with respect when it comes to how they make content since kids' shows and such are made for them, but i need you guys to understand that while yes,Percy is kind,he's not nice. He's a role model but that dosen't make him an ideal hero-He's described as 'a troubled kid' from the first page and is now an even more troubled adult in current canon and the reason for that isn't just the demigod jazz,it's his actual personality. He hates authority figures and vocalizes it to their faces,he's very rude with the exception of towards his mom and younger girls(as he should),he frequently gets into fights and absolutely decimates his opponents and he's got a temper.None of this makes him a villain-Looking at you, people who compare him to Luke-and he's an anti-hero at best. This is the point.Percy is like he is because of trauma so his flaws are not only to make him well-written but for representation. It's incredibly important to have abused characters who have trauma responses and certain coping mechanisms even-No,ESPECIALLY in pg media so abuse victims can see they're not monsters because other people ruined them and be given inspiration to keep themselves kind and shown they deserve kindness too
And on a somewhat different note but on the same topic,Percy is also not immature or stupid. He's a genius who's saved tons of people and even the world multiple times with his plans and quick thinking and you can't say 'Well,Annabeth calls him dumb all the time and she's the daughter of Athena so he canonically is!' because Annabeth's literal fatal flaw is hubris, she calls him dumb all the time because she thinks EVERYONE is dumb compared to her and we just see it most with Percy because they're the mcs so they interact way more with eachother than they do everyone else and if i'm being completely honest,i also think she might be worried her in-universe status as 'the smartest' being compramised by him(Which is kinda funny to because the most in-character reaction for him to discovering that would be to either play dumb to reassure her or joke about it in a way that's too funny for her to be upset by it anymore). And yes,Percy is extremely goofy and he has the vibe he's into kiddy interests over mature ones(/pos ofc)but he's also learned a lot of emotional intellegence over the series since he's grown up like we did and speaking as someone who falls under this irl,his treatment of Nico and Hazel is very older sibling-like and even has some parentalness mixed since he knows their dad is shit and their moms aren't alive anymore so they need someone to take that role for them
What i'm trying to say is:Percy Jackson's not a soft uwu sunshine boy protagonist who hasn't been effected by the consequences of what he's been through yet. He's a jaded asshole who refuses to give up being kind or even his sense of humor because that would be letting the people who traumatized him win and by the end of Hoo,he's also grown into a Team Dad and chilled out a bit.Less Miles Morales, more Hobie Brown
