#Joseph morgan convention

Hey 👋 I've been watching videos of Joseph during the Liverpool convention (hope you had a good time by the way) and got the idea of a Joseph x Reader story where they meet during a meet and greet perhaps during signing?
Tumblr media
(Started writing this and it’s kinda giving yandere!reader vibes but she just a crazy obsessed fan like the rest of us🤷‍♀️)
Also in this he is not married! And this is gonna be set in America maybe a few years earlier?
Favourite Fan
Y/n had watched the vampire diaries and the originals religiously. They were played continuously and she could speak each episode word for word. Her favourite character was Klaus by far, she loved Joseph Morgan’s acting and who he was truly.
So she saved up, a lot, and decided she would see how many conversations she could see him at.
She knew he was doing conventions in a couple states that year so decided to go and meet him.
The first time it was to have a picture of him signed as well as a photo.
When she got their, she was practically bouncing. She waited in line and finally got to meet him.
———————————————————————
Joseph had been switching between photos and autographs all day. It was the afternoon and he was growing tired. Time between each person was getting shorter and shorter but he didn’t want to disappoint any fans so he tried his best.
But when he glances up at Y/n, for some reason he decided he would talk to her for a little longer. His eyes were locked on hers, her bright smile seemed to warm him as he wrote her a personalised message on the item she wanted signed. She then shyly asked if he was allowed to hug her to which he let out a soft laugh and nodded.
He pushed his cheque back and stood up, moving around his table and welcoming her into his arms. He smiled at the way she clung to him, it wasn’t uncommon among fans. He gently rubbed the top of her back before she pulled away and thanked him. His eyes followed her as she walked away and he continued with the autographs for a while.
By his last set of photos with fans, he was exhausted and hungry. Some of the other stars were taking a break while others were flooded with people.
He sighed softly to himself, his face hurt from all the smiling but he was used it. He could feel the heat getting to him as he stood in far too many layers but nevertheless he wrapped his arm around the next person and gave an award winning grin for the camera.
He glanced to the next person and saw a familiar face, the same girl from earlier. His smile was smaller but it was real. So was hers as she quickly approached him and immediately wrapped her arms around him. He chuckled and hugged her bag, accidentally smelling her hair as he felt her face against his shoulder.
“You ready sweetheart?” He murmured softly to her and she nodded, her cheeks pink as a blush spread through her. She pulled away and turned to the camera, his arm stayed around her waist and they both smiled. He waved as she left and turned to his next person with a better attitude.
———————————————————————
He saw her multiple times in that year alone, in a few different states across different days.
He began to look for her in the line or when he was walking from photos to the autograph tables. Occasionally he would spot her, she was always already looking at him which made his face warm as a soft blush rose to the surface. Joseph would always wave at her as he went by.
By the time he got round to seeing her, he was always tired. She seemed to uplift him throughout the day.
So when he got to her again, for maybe the 7th time meeting her, he was relieved to have her in his arms again. He could hear and sense his co-stars giggling and staring as the hug lingered for longer than it should have.
“I made you something” she whispered to him as they parted and he smiled
“You did?” He asked and she nodded, holding out a few pieces of paper. One of which was a hand written letter and two were portraits of him in a remarkable amount of detail. His smile broadened and his face went pink again “you made those yourself?” He questioned and she nodded nervously.
“You don’t have to-“
“No no, I want them” he took them from her hands and she smiled back at him. “They’re wonderful, love” he told her and she looked down “thank you” he whispered “will I be seeing you again later?” He asked eagerly.
“No…not this time” she sighed softly “I booked late, couldn’t get anything else. Next time?”
“Definitely” he smiled, subconsciously raising his hand to brush her hair away from her face, ignoring the ‘ooos’ from his co-stars.
They smiled at each other and said their goodbyes before she left and he turned back to his next eagerly awaiting fan.
———————————————————————
Joseph’s friends teased him, Daniel, Phoebe, Claire, Charles. The lot of them knew, as soon as they saw Y/n coming, Jospeh would be a blushing mess.
One of those days, when Y/n was lining up for Joseph again, Daniel came up behind her. He effectively scared her and made her laugh, he whispered to her secretively and had her dial her number into Joseph’s phone.
Joseph and Daniel had been given private rooms to do their photos and signings and Y/n was the last in line for Joseph so Daniel saw it as perfectly set up. He gave her a hug and winked at Jospeh who looked a mix of embarrassed and horrified.
Once she got to him, they were both red in the face and their hearts were beating fast.
“I’m sorry” he whispered “he’s rude and-“
“It’s okay” she smiled “I know it’s just a joke, you can delete the number” she told him but he shook his head
“N-no no I’ll keep it” he whispered, his eyes trailing her body without his permission. She could feel his eyes on her and she could feel herself getting hotter
“Can I have my hug?” She asked quietly and he cleared his throat with a nod
“Yeah- yes” he mumbled, pulling her close and holding her against him. His nose buried in her hair and the soft skin of her face pressed to his neck. His eyes fluttered shut and he held her their for a short well, his hands gently caressing her hips and waist.
He knew it would be inappropriate to touch her, to think of her in any indecent way but part of him just couldn’t help himself. He was attracted to her in every way, she was so kind and thoughtful. He wondered how happy she was on the day to day. He wondered how many people got to see her big smile and get given personal gifts from her.
Sometimes he worried that it would be bad to date a fan, would he be taking advantage of her love for him? And then the worry would settle, does she like him or his characters?
It clouded his mind and he felt her pull back, looking up at his face. “You okay?” She whispered, seeing his eyes zoned out. He seemed to snap back when her hand touched his face and she quickly retracted it “I’m sorry”
“No, it’s alright” he smiled, squeezing her hand gently before stepping back. “You were here for the autograph again?” He asked, and she shook her head
“Photo” she corrected and his face went red, glancing to the camera man who was looking thoroughly amused
“Right” he whispered “a photo” he repeated and she laughed softly
He pulled her close and smiled for the camera. She was the last one so he walked her back to the door, his hand automatically on her waist as though it belonged there.
———————————————————————
After that, Joseph had very nervously sent a message to Y/n. She had assumed it was on of her friends messing with her and told him to go away. He proceeded to ring her and prove her wrong making her apologise profusely and promise she didn’t know it was him. She could hear Daniel Gillies laughing in the back ground and Jospeh telling him to shut up but letting her know it was okay.
They messaged more and more frequently, video calling sometimes in the evening.
The two would talk about the next conventions and when they could see each other again, Joseph felt bad that Y/n had to pay so much to see him for a few minutes and offered to pay for her but she always refused. Until one day, a few months later when she couldn’t afford to go and he practically begged her to send her bank details so he could transfer her.
When she came and saw him, she hugged him so tight and kissed him on the cheek. He felt like he was floating, he went to his her on the cheek back but caught her lips. He could hear people around gasping but he couldn’t care in that moment. All he could think about was her lips on him, his finger weaved into her hair and he kissed her with as much passion as he could show without putting his tongue in her mouth.
He didn’t want people getting to many pictures so he turned her around, away from everyone so they could just see his back as he kissed her gently. His hand cupped her cheek once he reluctantly pulled away, his eyes on her swollen lips before their lifted to her eyes. She was breathing fast but Joseph knew he was too.
“I hope the next fan doesn’t get that too” she whispered and he laughed
“They won’t, I promise” he murmured, kissing her once more and grabbing his pen without turning around. He scribbled his signature onto her shirt, right on her breast making her grin. “I’ll call you later” he muttered, pecking her cheek
And with that she walked away, other fans squealing and looking at her as she floated through the crowds.

The Douai Martyrs is a name applied by the Catholic Church to 158 Catholic priests trained in the English College at Douai, France, who were executed by the English state between 1577 and 1680.[2]
History
Having completed their training at Douai, many returned to England and Wales with the intent to minister to the Catholic population. Under the Jesuits, etc. Act 1584 the presence of a priest within the realm was considered high treason. Missionaries from Douai were looked upon as a papal agents intent on overthrowing the queen. Many were arrested under charges of treason and conspiracy, resulting in torture and execution. In total, 158 members of Douai College were martyred between the years 1577 and 1680.[1] The first was Cuthbert Mayne, executed at Launceston, Cornwall on the 29 November 1577. [3] The last was Thomas Thwing, hanged, drawn, and quartered at York in October 1680.[4] Each time the news of another execution reached the College, a Solemn Mass of thanksgiving was sung.
Many people risked their lives during this period by assisting them, which was also prohibited under the Act. A number of the "seminary priests" from Douai were executed at a three-sided gallows at Tyburn near the present-day Marble Arch. A plaque to the "Catholic martyrs" executed at Tyburn in the period 1535 - 1681 is located at 8 Hyde Park Place, the site of Tyburn convent.[5]
They were beatified between 1886, 1929 and 1987, and only 20 were canonized in 1970. Today, British Catholic dioceses celebrate their feast day on 29 October.[1]

Sylvia Sidney and Spencer Tracy in Fury (Fritz Lang, 1936)
Cast: Spencer Tracy, Sylvia Sidney, Walter Abel, Bruce Cabot, Edward Ellis, Walter Brennan, Frank Albertson, George Walcott, Arthur Stone, Morgan Wallace. Screenplay: Bartlett Cormack, Fritz Lang, Norman Krasna. Cinematography: Joseph Ruttenberg. Art direction: Cedric Gibbons. Film editing: Frank Sullivan. Music: Franz Waxman.
In the major Hollywood films about lynching -- this one and The Ox-Bow Incident (William A. Wellman, 1943) -- white men were the victims, when the unfortunate fact is that Black men (and a few women) were statistically by far the more frequent targets of vigilante mobs. I can't think of an American film that confronted the reality of the situation before Intruder in the Dust (Clarence Brown, 1949). But I don't think Fritz Lang, making his first American film, had the United States in mind when he made Fury. He had seen rampaging mobs in Germany, which is why he left in 1933. That's why the film reaches its full actuality in its scenes of the mob in full cry. Those scenes alone are almost enough to establish the film as a classic, although much of the rest of Fury feels a bit scattered and aimless. It starts like a conventional romantic drama, with Joe Wilson (Spencer Tracy) and Katherine Grant (Sylvia Sidney) window-shopping for furniture for the home they hope to make when they're married. There's some sidetracking into Joe's relationship with his brothers, Charlie (Frank Albertson) and Tom (George Walcott), which although it seems like it will bear fruit -- Charlie has been associating with some shady characters, to which Tom objects -- is pretty much a narrative dead end. And after Katherine leaves for California, where Joe plans to join her when he makes some money, there's an injection of cuteness when Joe adopts a small dog he names Rainbow.* But when Joe finally gets to California his reunion with Katherine is interrupted by the law, who arrest him on the basis of circumstantial evidence as a suspect in a kidnapping. Gossips immediately take up the story and a mob led by a layabout named Kirby Dawson (Bruce Cabot) storms the jail and burns it down with Joe (and Rainbow) inside. Joe escapes (Rainbow doesn't) and goes into hiding, where he plots revenge. Eventually, when a trial leads to conviction of 22 members of the mob and their sentencing to death, Joe is presented with a moral dilemma: to reveal that he's alive, thereby saving the mob members from hanging, or to stay hidden and get his revenge. This being Hollywood, the decision is pretty much a foregone conclusion. Lang's direction is not so sure-handed as it was in his German films, but it keeps Fury watchable even when you spot the holes and compromises in the screenplay he co-wrote with Bartlett Cormack based on a story by Norman Krasna. Tracy is fine, though the character seems to split into two almost discrete roles: the affable Joe of the first half of the film and the obsessive revenge-seeker of the latter part.
*An oddly prescient name: Rainbow is played by Terry, who also played Toto in The Wizard of Oz (Victor Fleming, 1939).

Sally Anne Morgan — Carrying (Thrill Jockey)
Tumblr media
Carrying by Sally Anne Morgan
Sally Anne Morgan’s last album, the pandemic-recorded Cup, felt abstract and cerebral, a folk music broken down into atoms and reconstructed in surprising ways.  Carrying, by contrast, has a rich, warm profusion to it, a fertility that, perhaps, reflects Morgan’s own experience of becoming a mother for the first time. It also brings in the band in a way that all-solo Cup did not, enlisting psychedelic folk regulars like Nathan Bowles, Andrew Zinn and Joe DeJarnette to fill out lilting folk-nodding songs and nudge them close to rock.
Morgan is, of course, a force in contemporary, cosmic folk, hewing close to tradition in the hymnal-loving House and Land and spinning out wild in sprawling Pelt. She also oversees Spinster Records, a female-centric, folk experimental nexus of creativity that introduced Rosali and Lou Turner to the world. Her own work pushes gently against convention, acknowledging it, understanding it, but refusing to be constrained by it. She upends the rules so fluidly that it causes no friction; the songs are old and modern at the same time.
Consider, for instance the lilting purity “Streets of Derry,” a fine old Irish air about love and politics and death by gallows. Two guitars dance together in shimmering air, and Morgan sings a duet with Joseph O’Connell, all very true to the song’s origins. The synth or e-bow that hovers over the tune, though, gives it a strange, ghostly oddity that doesn’t in the least distract or feel tacked on.
Or listen to “Awake” with its liquid lines of blues folk guitar, its effortless cascades of vocal melody. A roughness slips in with long, vibrating tremolo tones, but rather than contradict the song’s tone, this hint of corrosion only underlines the lovely, fleeting nature of Morgan’s song.
“Diamond Joe,” a Ramblin’ Jack Elliott cover, is, perhaps, the disc’s most visceral and fully fleshed out song, with its martial beat and jangling tangle of guitars. Ripley Johnson from Rose City Band stops by to spin out questing, cosmic country riffs in between verses, and Morgan sings with fluting, flickering transparency, but the song kind of rocks. Where Cup presented an intricate and lovely puzzle, Carrying takes your hands and draws you into a whirling eddy of sensation. It is open-hearted and generous and full of gorgeous moments.

Dobson unfussed about enjoying newly-minted Boks forward of tour: Theyre out there and eager
Manie Libbok. (Picture by: Ziyaad Douglas/Gallo Photos) With Springbok administration saying earlier within the week that Springbok tour inductees can be withdrawn from United Rugby Championship (URC) squads this weekend, it was curious to see Manie Libbok and Sacha Feinberg-Mngomezulu picked for the Stormers. The Stormers duo are a part of the principle squad that leaves for Eire on Saturday night, and with a sport towards the Lions at 16:00 on Saturday, confusion reigned within the press convention with John Dobson as he named his aspect for the derby. In line with Dobson, the Stormers have been solely made conscious of 5 gamers who wouldn’t be out there for them – Steven Kitshoff, Frans Malherbe, Deon Fourie, Salmaan Moerat and Damian Willemse. “We have all the time labored on the premise that these 5 guys can be unavailable and everybody else was out there,” mentioned Dobson. READ | A gross sales pitch and first impressions: How Sacha Mngomezulu made Springbok tour roster The burning query was how a sport late within the afternoon might doubtlessly get in the best way of their Dublin itinerary. Dobson mentioned:  They’re positively enjoying [tomorrow] and eager to play. I do not know in regards to the logistics [of their travel]. I simply know that they are out there. The Stormers are represented by 14 gamers throughout each squads (9 within the so-called most important group), and that’s the place we discover Libbok and Feinberg-Mngomezulu. I was lucky enough to get to ask Joseph Morgan and Daniel Gillies a question at a Q&A! At the last minute I thought to turn on the audio recording on my phone (no video). They gave me a hilariously dirty answer and I thought you might all like to hear. I’ve also transcribed it below.
-
Me: First of all, thank you both for the gift of your acting and my question is what do you each imagine that Klaus and Elijah are doing in the afterlife?
Daniel Gillies: ...Mine’s a bit dirty.
Me: Tell it!
DG: He’s with Hayley, let’s just say... he’s not doing anything dirty WITH Hayley, he’s doing it with another girl he really likes in front of Hayley... I’m joking, it’s with Hayley. She’s kind of involved, it’s a threeso- no...
Joseph Morgan: Um, Klaus is just watching. *sneaks behind a drum set that was on stage and peeks out from behind cymbal*
Me: Thank you!
DG: Then as Hayley’s having a baby and breaks her water and it’s like ‘there he is again!’ *DG hits cymbal from front side*
Me: Thank you!

HELP A GROUP OF KIDS GO SEE THE CAST AT THE VAMPIRE/ORIGINAL CONVENTION!
https://www.gofundme.com/vampire-diaries-convention
Hello,
I am starting this page to take a group of kids to a Vampire Diaries and The Originals convention for the weekend. The kids don't get to go anywhere and seeing as this is there favorite show we would like to take them to this event and SURPRISE them by meeting their  favorite characters and take pictures with them. The event has celebrity karaoke where fans can participate and other fun things that the children when get to participate in over the weekend. Including buying merch. Since we have a group of 5 children going and pictures with the cast costs money we would like to ask you guys for your help in raising the money. Any amount helps. Thank you for taking the time to read this and means a lot if you donate.

Eric & Buddy: An Essay On Why They Should Have Been | Part One
Tumblr media
It’s no secret that the writers of That 70′s Show had originally introduced the character of Buddy Morgan portrayed by a young Joseph Gordon Levitt to be a potential love interest for the main character of the series, Eric Forman. In fact, per Buddy’s intro, the show would’ve explored Eric’s bisexuality; his having to make sense of his romantic feelings for the girl-next-door who he’s wanted since they were childhood friends, as well as this new, charming and friendly guy while living under the roof of a father who subjects him to archaic notions of performed masculinity.
The program would’ve delved into a sweeping love triangle that ultimately would have seen the flourishing union of Buddy and Eric, as it was intended before the show had seen homophobic backlash from fans at the sight of a male|male onscreen kiss. Before Buddy’s entrance in episode 11, the show teased at Eric’s sexuality, occasionally making him the butt of jokes where friends or his paternal parent would call him “queer” or poke fun at his sensitivity, which was seen as an effeminate trait. Another character by the name of Fez, a foreign exchange student, much more frequently gets spotlighted for this amongst his peers. Thus, even now, looking back at this one episode, one can clearly see the groundwork the writers were setting up for making this master pairing that was rare for its time.
Tumblr media
I mean, come on! They were chemistry partners! Everyone knows that’s the classic Hollywood cliche for putting two high school kids together. And boy, was there chemistry! The two immediately hit if off, right from the get-go and Buddy Morgan asks this seemingly innocent question that upon further inspection, is quite heavily coded. On the surface, Buddy asks Eric if he’s okay being teamed up with him for lab, with the excuse being that he tends to blow things up (an innuendo that the audience didn’t catch on at the time). However, reading between the lines, Buddy is trying to parse out whether Eric is okay being partnered with him. He’s searching for signs of acceptance beyond academic capabilities. Buddy knows well that while they live in the seventies, it is not safe to come out to everyone. Society is not there yet, much less then in their suburban town where KISS is all the rave and seen as the height of male bravado and achievement. In the first instance he does so with Eric even, he denies it and then plays it off cheekily.
Tumblr media
All this, though, is to establish knowledge that Buddy is interested in Eric first. We meet Buddy who already is set into his attraction to Eric, which contrasts the pilot of the show where we meet an Eric firm in his years long crush for Donna Pinciotti. Here, the camera pans around to the motion of Eric reaching to the opposite end of Buddy’s car, but it never leaves Buddy’s gaze. Throughout this episode, where Buddy’s eyes are are very important because it is often the case that they are fixated on Eric in a way that hints at a kind of longing. Buddy watches Eric the whole way has he approached the car in a manner that would be hard to argue is platonic.
Tumblr media
Even here, you can see how shy Buddy becomes at the extra attention he’s receiving from Eric for presumably the first time, who is infatuated with simply his ride. The nervous ruffle of the hair is a dead giveaway and this whole opening scene follows a lot of the same conventions of many heterosexual romance movies, particularly where the female lead realizes her attraction for the male love interest, usually signaled through awkward exchanges, fidgeting, shy glances and laughs, avoiding gazes, stuttering, the works. All of it is here displayed in a way that does not mimic any of the interactions Eric has with his other male friends. And Buddy is excited, of course, by this development. He lets Eric act giddy about his vehicle and offers to give him a ride, and he’ll take any excuse to be able to spend time with him.
The dialogue here also contains a gold mine of hidden messages. Eric is initially dumbfounded seeing Buddy keying into the car he does not yet realize is his, and then jokingly exclaims, “So you’re the guy I hate” and Buddy replies, “Yeah, that’d be me.” Another inconspicuous line that the writers have thrown in but is doing so much work. The “that’d be me” exits so softly from Buddy Morgan because in some way, without knowing, Eric was thinking of him. Maybe not him exactly, but through this vehicle of navigation, Eric was finding him--meeting him. And while the show never had enough time to go into how long Buddy had been harboring feelings for Eric, maybe he was already thinking of Forman too. In some ways, Buddy’s car is like the missing glass slipper and Eric’s finally found it’s owner, “that’d be me.” Buddy has been found.
Tumblr media
Note that the color of the car, and Buddy’s turtleneck are red -- a color long associated with heat, desire, love, fire (the car’s titled the ‘Pontiac Firebird’) and passion. I can’t believe that this color choice wasn’t purposeful because it draws on the imagery of another person associated with red: Donna, who has red hair. It’s not a coincidence that Eric is also attracted to the red Trans Am, and so his eventual interest in Buddy is foreshadowed by his cherry turtleneck shirt.
